Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you wanted to turn into a ball of sadness.
you, the sunshine of the camp (quite literally), the joy, the laughter, everything nice, was quiet all day. your siblings asked you what's wrong, your friends asked you whats wrong, but you waved them off with a simple 'i'm tired.'
even the sun was not shining bright enough, matching with your mood. even your dad could say something is wrong with you too.
the problem was... nothing actually. maybe you were tired, or you were becoming bipolar. you didn't know. but you wanted to be away from anyone else until you find the light inside you again.
the light being percy, of course.
he entered his cabin as usual, just coming back from his classic surfing session. he left the board leaning to the blue wall as he shaked the water from his hair. he didn't saw you at first; because you were under his blue blankets, hugging yourself like a newborn baby.
he hummed one of the songs you writed for him as he entered the shower, taking the sticky feeling of the salt water off.
you did heard him, but you waited until he found you.
after a quick shower, he get out from the bathroom dressed, ready to chill in his bed until you arrive. the moment he opened his blanket, he jumped.
"holy hera!" he yelped, hands resting on his knees as he realised it was you, who were a giggling mess right now. maybe the real sunshine was percy, the boy who always made you laugh through everything.
"hey," you said, smiling. he looked at you, he wanted to be angry at you for making him jump like that, and in normal circumstanses he would pull out the riptide; but the way you smiled made all of his thoughts go away.
"hello my serial killer." he said, already joining you in his bed. he take you in his arms and peppered your hair with kisses, taking off the chillness of the water with your warm body. you immediatly hugged him back, smelling his signature scent; salt water.
you chuckled at him. "where have you been?" you asked, even though you knew he was surfing every sundays. you just wanted him to talk away your problems with his rambling. you only needed his voice in your head.
"y'know baby, just surfin' and all," he murmured to your hair, kissing the place again. he loved how you smelled like the early hours of the morning, and he can't even express this out loud. you had a smell like summer, fun and childish. it was like his own drug.
"you gonna tell me why you were in my bed, all curling up?" he asked you, already knowing you were having a shit day. "or are we just going to cuddle? you know both is fine with me."
you knew of course. your boyfriend was the best when it camed to lighten your mood.
"i don't even know what's wrong myself," you mumled, voice coming out as a muffle since you hugged his bare chest tightly. "can you keep talking? it helps." you spoke quietly.
"of course baby," he kissed your hair again. "hmm, what can i say.. oh! i saved a little kid from drowning today." he told you as he pulled away a little to see your expression. you immediatly gasped and asked him what happened.
as he excitedly told you about the little adventure he had with the little boy, using all of his body to make it more realistic, you smiled to yourself. the sun shining all by itself is a fucking lie, you thought. and percy was definetly the proof of that. because if he wasn't in your life to cheer you up, you probably wouldn't even shine again.

"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾‍♀️
#arya stark#sansa stark#house stark#asoiaf#also if it's so normal for siblings to fight then why are you guys losing your minds over us theorizing they won't get along??#the amount of condescending /that's just how siblings act/ takes I see 🙄#sorry I guess? that we read the book and don't just delete parts of the story because we find it convenient?#it's not even like takes about them being enemies is widespread the most I see is that they aren't instantly bffs when they reunite 😭#some people theorize they'll never be close but guess what? that's a completely fair and valid assumption based on their relationship!#personally I think they'll have a sweet reunion before the issues they have inevitably surface again because while they've been through#a lot they haven't fundamentally changed as people or the values they hold#and I think that's going to be very interesting to read about!#I can't figure out why people always take the most boring bland route for how things will play out#mostly because people seem to be unable to swallow the concept that Sansa is a flawed character who isn't perfectly sweet all the time#and the fact that their conflict is instigated by Sansa's classism#which is funny cause in the grand scheme of things her being mean to Arya is such a mild thing that opens the door to a ton of growth#never seen anybody but stansas equating her being a bully to her sister to her being evil/a villain#all we do is point out that it exists in the story...people in this fandom have no concept of nuance I stg 😭#anyways they're both complex characters and their conflict is interesting and I hope we get to see how it plays out#cause it's definitely going to be better then that trash d&d came up with 🙏🏾

hiii!!! Also, about my moth oc, he’s a tall brown moth lit (half human/half moth) they are kinda intimidating, but when they talk they sound like Elmo. SHSHHSHSHHHHH HAHA!!! it’s so funny to do around friends. What’s Arya’s personality like? I’ve been trying to imagine what my moth lit and your oc would interact LMAOOO
Also, if I could, could I request Alerudy with a s/o who excuses their self mid cuddling session and they later find them crying in the bathroom? Not cuz their sad, cuz they are so happy to have those two dorks and the cuddling made their s/o overwhelmed? Thank you!!
Hey there! That does sound pretty amazing, they sound so cool! :D It certainly sounds like a surprise to hear him talk for the first time! Arya is a very confident person, almost kinda cocky, and she loves to tease! She's very outgoing and makes friends fairly easily! She's also not that short either, so she can seem pretty intimidating, but usually she's just a little goof! Unless you mess with her siblings or talk badly about them, because in that case she'll be very mean and make sure you never talk badly about them again! However, other than that, she's a pretty helpful person as well, willing to help out the people in need when they need it! She has the resources to do so as a noble!
AleRudy with an S/O Overwhelmed with Love for Them
Eventually, Rodolfo would knock on the bathroom door and ask you what’s wrong if you’ve been gone for a while now, not expecting to hear the quiet sobs. As you open the door, you don’t seem to be in pain or distressed however, which confuses him to no end, but he still grows concerned upon seeing the tears roll down your cheeks. Rodolfo would act immediately, pulling you into his arms and asking you what’s wrong so he can do his darndest to help. Was someone being mean to you? Do you have other problems? He’ll listen to you, he’s there for you and will do what he can to make you feel better. When you confess that you’re crying because you were just that overwhelmed with love, he’d go quiet for a second before blushing. However, you wouldn’t stop hugging him. Eventually, Alejandro, having grown worried for the both of you, would stop by as well. Rodolfo explains the situation to him as you reach out for the colonel to hug him as well.
They’d likely get you on the couch and both feel a bit honored you thought this highly of them. They adore you more than anyone else, aside from each other, so you crying because you love them this much, while unexpected, is definitely nice. However, as they both have a hand on you, they’ll reassure you that you don’t have to cry because of something like that and scare them this much. Rodolfo would wrap his arms around you and place his head on your shoulder while telling you that this is somewhat silly, but he’s not mad at you. Alejandro would definitely put your face in between his hands and give your forehead a long kiss. You’re just too cute. If anything, the two of them should be crying with how lucky they’ve gotten to be with you. While they do hope you won’t be crying if they keep holding and cherishing you like this, they certainly don’t mind, growing ever so soft around you at that moment. They won’t tease you, they won’t slip in some Spanish in the conversation either, no, they need you to understand just how much they love you back. Each of them will tell you the things they appreciate about you, from your smile to your kindness, from the way you greet them with such love to you keeping your home clean while they’re away, from you providing them however you can to you preparing such delicious meals for them. They love and appreciate you more than you’ll ever know. Even if it makes you cry again, it’ll be worth it because you deserve to know just how cherished you are. The night will likely continue like that, going into detail about how much the three of you love each other, that you’ll never be alone since you always have each other’s backs. The world could be turning against you tomorrow and you’ll find a way to fight it off regardless.

I post about lannisters a lot but tbh the family I really vibe with is the Starks because that’s my relationship with my siblings. Like you’re annoying and I hate you and I play favorites and you’re the worst people I’ve ever met but I love you so much more than anyone else. I’m never going to say that to your face. Youre a horrifying bunch of freaks that I wouldn’t know how to live without so don’t you ever leave on me

META , 𝑫𝑨𝑬𝑵𝑬𝑹𝒀𝑺' 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑰-𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑷𝑯𝑬𝑻, 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑰-𝑴𝑬𝑺𝑺𝑰𝑨𝑯, 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑯𝑼𝑴𝑨𝑵 𝑸𝑼𝑬𝑬𝑵: often talking with @ruingod and the tropes around characters, i realized how of an antithesis dany is to the common messianic trope ( unlike paul who absorbs himself in it to gain power ) and since recently there has been going on a discussion about it as if she's the same trope as his ( sigh ), i decided to come here and express my opinions ( which are just that, opinions and interpretations ). well, daenerys does not see herself as anything but a queen, a ruler, and she views it as a duty and not a priviledge. she sees ruling ad a responsability to protect those around her ( coming from the sense that she often wasn't protected ), and does not use their dependance on her and their views of her figure as means to create prophercies or even propaganda about her rule. she never sees herself as above her people, as their savior, but a member of their reality/society with the power of bringing change. daenerys did not conquer the free cities to gain numbers to battle, or to rule them with her iron first of ideals ( in fact, one of her issues is that she did not count with that part and is falling under creating her own ruling ). daenerys conquered the cities to free the slaved and their oppression. she had no need to do it either, with enough gold and ships to sail to westeros before doing so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's no questioning that daenerys is doing what she does because she believes in the good, not in vengeance, not out of need for power. she's there to serve the oppressed, and not the opposite. she's not their messiah. there's a reason why mhysa resonates with her: she's mother, she's freeing, amidst the fear of being the opposite due to her roots ( remember the valyrians were slavers themselves ). like dragons, there's no cruel inner nature. there's the singular thing: dany is good. intrisically. she struggles in understandig that good intentions do not make a good realm - it only, sometimes, makes it weak. and to be ruthless to protect those she swore to protect is what makes her shake in fear of becoming entirelly ruthless. losing herself. becoming what people believe dragons to be: monsters, and monsters only.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
daenerys does not use speech to gain support. her actions did so, and she did not do them out of the selfish reason: yes, this will have me be their queen. i'll become their god. no, dany did it because she loathed to see such suffering. she acted out of her heart. when she freed the unsullied she did not do it knowing they would follow her afterwards, nor when she fred drogo's slaves. their freedom was theirs, just like hers was hers. they followed her because they saw it as just that, someone worth it, someone who did it because it was right, and not someone who used them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
her iron throne goal becomes secondary in her mind as she decides to stay in mereen to keep things under control. to not let those people back in chains and in even more pain before she met them. if she wanted just to control them, dany would become the tyrant that season 8 wants you to see her as. she'd burn her enemies, and make others follow her with the disguise of being their savior. make them cross the sea and fight in her name only. she'd be flawless before their eyes, she'd see herself as flawless, she'd see herself as righteous. daenerys does not do it, in any moment. she constantly does what sacrifice is needed to help others and not herself. staying in mereen is proof of that, still, we constantly read she's a selfish person who only does what she does out of greed. when speaking of paul, for example, and the parallels, it is just a mirror of different perspectives of similar situations. one leaning towards the opressed for power, and the other leaning towards power to help the opressed.

Arya? :)
Arya moodboard 💫
Tumblr media
Arya is a gender-neutral name of Sanskrit origin that translates to "noble," "illustrious," and "spiritual." This alluring title is popular as both a boy and girl name in Iran, Indonesia, India, and other Sanskrit-speaking communities. It's also interpreted as a variation on the name Aria, which means "song," "air," "mist," and "wind" in Italian, from the Greek root āḗr.

more thoughts on the AU in which arya has no magic/is a templar:
-as everyone had initially hoped she and Eric lead the ostwick circle with Eric as knight-commander. eventually the hope/expectation is that with a few more years arya will take over in Markham, but there are concerns that she will not be ready for that kind of leadership
-arya is not burdened by exactly the same kind of uncertainty as she usually is. battle and swordsmanship and strategy seem natural. giving orders seems natural. in social situations she is utterly inept and terrified. this is not an arya that has spent time teaching and guiding young children, this is not an arya who got drilled in etiquette enough because she was never going to need to navigate nobility. the family was content with her desire to stay far out of the spotlight and prepare for being a templar, so she can't really mask in the way the right arya would, she is rigid and respected but not liked. she makes few friends.
-ostwick circle is run strictly and efficiently. Eric is too much of a watchdog to allow loose ends. without a mage in the family he does not learn much sympathy for mages, and while he is smart enough to keep the mages from complete upset (so he thinks, at least) he is not merciful, nor is he kind. arya is much the same but occasionally is pulled to sympathy by apprentices. she likes to think she takes complaints seriously, but there are always more templars to take the place of ones that need to be removed.
-briony is still at ostwick until her harrowing, which she fails. arya does not know her face well enough to feel anything about her passing, other than general pity.
-Malik REALLY suffers because he has been saddled with all the responsibility of maintaining the family's nobility despite him clearly having two other siblings that could have done it. he wishes for more freedom than he has. arya is sympathetic to his frustrations, eric finds his problems trivial given that, for the most part, malik’s life isn't on the line. malik would have stopped speaking to erik altogether if their father didn’t believe it necessary to keep the trevelyans connected.
-the trevelyans become a well-known name in the Marches, and the family sees this time as politically opportune. as much as the trevelyans are described as devout, since the chantry is the foundation of so much power, i can’t imagine that in their religious devotion they are also very interested in aligning their politics with the chantry. they want more political power in the Marches, malik is resistant which causes tension with his father still serving as bann. despite templars technically giving up titles and family from the order the trevelyans see expanded dominance over the circles as necessary.
-ostwick’s circle rebels far later than it did in the original timeline since arya has no real connection to the younger apprentices, and far fewer people are inclined to stick up for any troublemaker apprentices given the trevelyans’ ironclad hold on the circle. markham’s circle (where eric Should Be) collapses first after its first enchanter starts an eerily quiet rebellion (she’s another minor oc of mine, her name is margaret, she is an unassuming old lady born in a circle). eric hears about it, is hypervigilant, and when one of the younger apprentices has something of a magical misfire, arya is not there to stop it. the boy is made tranquil, and rather than that inciting rebellion, it’s later rumors of annulment that spark ostwick’s downfall.
-even w/in this au, arya should be a mage. she is supposed to have magic. so i think that arya still ends up at the conclave hoping for peace and a return to normalcy, while eric has something of a crisis because he doesn’t think going back to normal is safe or possible (but he’s not entirely convinced by the renegade templars). arya gets her hands on the anchor and its connection to the fade doesn’t make her a full fledged mage, but she does start to show signs of magic capability (i don’t know that it ever fully manifests) outside of the anchor’s power and it shakes her entire worldview--it doesn’t feel wrong, and that disgusts her.

honesty the vehement hatred that some of y’all have for Arya, Dany, and Sansa is really fucking weird considering they’re all children who have been abused and had their lives torn apart.

I'm sorry for coming to complain but I have something to say: I already know that in this fandom there are many opinions about what Arya and Sansa's relationship is going to be in the future and that we always complain that the Sansa stans talk about Arya as if she were going to become a servant of her sister, "one is the strength and the other intelligence", which are going to complete each other and all that shit (among all the other stupid things they have said) I agree with complaining about that because they are erasing attributes of Arya's character THAT SHE ALREADY HAS, and that we have always talk about Arya being a character apart from Sansa, someone who has her own story, her own purpose and that her whole character is definitely not reduced to just becoming her sister's employee after she always treated her badly in the their childhood.
Okay, I agree with all that. Those types of comments bother me too. But I feel that as a result of this very silly arguments have been born about why Arya and Sansa could never be friends because "they are very different, in personality, experiences and worldview" I'm sorry but I don't agree with that because, it is true that they are different, but let's not pretend that they don't have many things in common, and this goes beyond their personal characteristics or the fact that they share an entire family.
How different are their experiences? Yes, one is the red fortress and the other has to travel thousands of kilometers but in the end they both went through similar things. Both saw their father die, both were abused, both were beaten, both have been sold into marriage, both have been sexually abused, both have met cruel people and have had to pretend another identity to survive. The fact that it is in different contexts does not take away from the fact that they do have similar experiences, so that argument is very silly. And I don't say it with the intention of saying that Arya and Sansa are going to be the "best sister foreveh" I just hate that argument cause it dosen't make any sense, also throughout the asoiaf universe we have seen how completely different characters have had a great relationship come on.
Tyrion and Jaime are also wildly different and loved each other, Sam and Jon are also wildly different and no one is saying they could never be friends.
Also, it bothers me that they ignore the fact that Arya DOES care about Sansa, maybe Sansa doesn't care about Arya that much but Arya has always been fond of her sister, even when she was cruel to her.
Again, I don't come here with the intention of saying that they are going to be the best sister forevah and all that, I just hated that argument and also pls don't erase that from Arya's character either! that she has always been a good sister to Sansa, even if it was not reciprocated she was always loyal to her people, to her "pack"
Plus Arya and Sansa's relationship is definitely deeper than just "respect." Way more.
I feel like this is a good example of my earlier point that Arya stans need to over-explain points/theories to not have them taken maliciously (especially if they included Sansa). I still want to answer this in good faith though, because I don't believe you intended it to come off like that.
But I feel that as a result of this very silly arguments have been born about why Arya and Sansa could never be friends because "they are very different, in personality, experiences and worldview"
I will start by saying that the theories about Arya and Sansa not getting along aren't retaliatory to the fandom's perception of the "Stark Sisters 4ever". The idea of them not getting along is based on their conflict in AGOT, them being written as foils, George saying that they have issues to work out, and the fact that their characters haven't fundamentally changed since they've been separated (i.e. what's in the books). They've both been through a lot but trauma isn't a substitute for growth, and the issues they have will still exist. A big part of their conflict is Sansa's classism, which leads her to look down on Arya, and she has yet to grow out of that trait. If she reflects on this in TWOW then that's a different story. For now, we have to speculate with what we have. Not only that, but I could see Arya having less patience for her sister's behavior considering everything she's been through. There could be mutual hostility.
Tyrion and Jaime are also wildly different and loved each other, Sam and Jon are also wildly different and no one is saying they could never be friends.
As for this, the difference is that we're shown these characters having a positive relationship on-page. No one says Jon and Sam can't be friends because we see their friendship develop. Tyrion and Jaime eventually have conflict, but there's also a caring relationship built between them before that. Arya and Sansa have tender moments and fond memories, but their relationship is mainly antagonistic in the first book. If we had seen them getting along well before and, say, the trident incident had been the source of their conflict, that's an entirely different dynamic.
I just hated that argument and also pls don't erase that from Arya's character either! that she has always been a good sister to Sansa, even if it was not reciprocated she was always loyal to her people, to her "pack"
I don't think anyone with this prediction is ignoring Arya caring about her sister, it's more about the lack of growth on Sansa's part. While Arya tries to apologize and bridge the gap, even thinking of ways to please Sansa (I'll kiss her and beg her pardons like a proper lady, she'll like that), we don't have any equivalent moments from Sansa. She has fond memories of them playing in the snow, thinks of naming a daughter Arya, and overall misses her family and I'm not downplaying that. It's just that it doesn't supersede the relationship we've seen play out between them (or the fact that she thinks of Arya as unsatisfactory even though she believes her to be dead). It shows that they love each other and could reconcile, but there's no guarantee. Arya can't maintain that relationship one-sided and, considering she's already tried to apologize, Sansa will have to put in some effort on her side.
Plus Arya and Sansa's relationship is definitely deeper than just "respect." Way more.
I don't think their relationship is built on just "respect", they do have sisterly/familial love but that isn't all-powerful. George has stated that he reworked the Starks to give them conflict because they were all getting along and "families aren't like that". I doubt that he'd go to that trouble just to conveniently get rid of that tension, especially considering the amount of sibling conflicts we see in this story. No house gets along perfectly and this is intentional! We aren't ever going to really know until we get TWOW, but I just dislike the framing of this theory as baseless or trivial.
