i NEED more disturbing horror recs. please fill me up

well there is the serbian film and I don’t recommend this lightly whatsoever (it’s disgusting, revolting even, but it it highly disturbing), there’s the guinea pig series, there’s cannibal holocaust, but anymore more (I haven’t seen them, but they’ve always been on most disturbing horror lists) is snuff or like pretend snuff (but ew either way)

Why do u ship tiffnica?? Its a nasty ship

they are gross yes so so much. like JESUS calm down, tiff, your game is so WEIRD. so is chiffany though, they've always been abusive toward each other. i mean, how many times have they killed each other now? tiffnica haven't even killed each other once, i think, i'm not completely caught up on s3 yet. i don't really try to assign much morality onto horror ships, given that it's... yknow, horrifying. i don't act like tiffnica and chiffany are, or could be, healthy relationships. i just think they're weird, and i would like nica to get something out of their dynamic for once

tiff's a nasty woman. nica will never recover from anything that's happened. gay sex wouldn't solve anything in fact it will make things worse but like what else is there to try at this point. it's kinda of "throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks" situation. their canon dynamic is already so rich and icky, but i love the idea that an even further nica corruption arc and a tiff redemption arc could take place simultaneously within one relationship

short version: i want my women to be even weirder, i don't really ship tiffnica that religiously (chiffany is my #1 ship in the world of chuck), and i like analyzing what tiffnica means and could mean both canonically and in fanon for the characters involved

i also fuck with barclaypierce and kylenica, respectively. and a tiffnica/chiffany v-relationship would be fucking hilarious and, again, so goddamn weird

actual short version; enemies to lovers is just delicious to me and tiffnica is like the most prominent embodiment of that trope in the chuck cinematic universe

3. most recent horror movie you watched and loved: I enjoyed As Above So Below (thanks for that friendo) and I’m gonna say Barbarian because I’ve been a WKUK fan for many many years and I was actively watching the twitch streams around the time the movie got picked up and when Zach left to make it. It was just fantastic to see it get talked about the way it did and it was just an insane film overall.

10. a horror movie you wish you could watch again like its the first time: thought about this way too long, but I’m going with Blair Witch Project. What a time that was.

hm probably The Seventh Day on netflix.... it sucked for most of the runtime and then it was kind of interesting for 5 minutes at the end and that made me angry because i wish it had all been like that instead of the shit i had just sat through lol

This isn't on the list but I'm just throwing opinions out now.

I don't hate the Home Invasion genre, I just think it's really tired. I feel the same about Paranormal Found Footage. I have yet to see a Home Invasion Found Footage movie and I think that could be really scary! Found footage is always supposed to be grounded in reality right? Home Invasion as a genre is scary because it preys on the very real fear of that very real crime, Found Footage is the perfect medium to heighten that.

Is it basically fodder for true crime girlies at that point? Sure, but there are a lot of different ways you could make it play out that is interesting, and scary to watch because of the things inherent to the found footage medium as a whole.

Closest a movie comes to this, in my opinion, is Creep, Creep 2, and like sort of Megan Is Missing (stupid movie but my point still stands). Similar vibes, just not the right situation (or script/execution oof MIM is just bad)

omfg i would seriously KILL for a horror movie based on H. H. Holmes. SERIOUSLY untapped territory. martin scorsese was supposed to direct a movie about it but that project got dropped for some reason and it KILLS MEEEE. that anon is a genius for bringing it up i wish it was real so badly!!

it has so much potential and you could take it in any sub-genre direction, but knowing martin scorsese the movie would be 4 hours long (he’d still do a good job). I’d like to see less movies done on idk if you’d say recent crimes (I only say recent in terms of ted bundy, etc) because the immediate victims families are all alive. let’s go back a century into the 1800s.

Okay, here's some that come to mind:

Erin from You're Next. It's not like she's never mentioned, but I do think she's a little underrated. She's so badass and cool, and really makes the movie overall!!!

Sally from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'll say it. Yes, TCM is one of the most well known horror movies of all time, but 99% of the time when its mentioned, people don't really talk about Sally. But I feel like she's cool enough and endured a lot of shit that she should be talked about more. (However, we should all collectively never mention the 2022 TCM remake and Sally in that because the 2022 remake is horrible)

Deena and Sam from Fear Street. Mainly Deena. I will fully admit I am biased here. I genuinely cried when I watched the Fear Street movies because good lesbian rep in a horror movie!!!! That's so damn rare, so automatically any movie that shows me good lesbian rep is a top tier movie with top tier characters. But idk, I feel like the trilogy and the characters are generally pretty good, but it's like people talked a bunch about Fear Street when it came out and now no one talks about it or Deena and Sam. (I guess technically they're not final girls, but shhh)

Justine from Kristy. If you haven't seen Kristy, I recommend it! It's a pretty good modern day slasher movie with some great suspense (though warning to say that it does slightly suffer from "scenes in the nighttime are so dark you can't see shit"). And Justine is pretty damn cool as well!!!

Oh, the main girl from Haunt (looked it up, apparently her name is Harper). Maybe the fact that I can't remember her name isn't a good sign, but I do remember a bunch of her scenes and I do think she's also super cool and badass! Also Haunt is just really good in general.

I think those are the main ones that come to mind and, as always, would love to hear your opinions too!!!!!

The one that comes to mind is When The Wind Blows.

It's not a horror film per say, it's based on a graphic novel but it deals with Nuclear War and uses Government recommendations from the time period.

I watched a YouTube video about it and it freaked me the fuck out.

Okay I'm gonna be a bit unoriginal here. See, if it's some type of like, natural disaster sort of apocalypse, everyone is just gonna disaster prep and then do relief.
