"Bad Summer" weaves a chilling tale in the form of a dark visual novel, blending elements of horror, mystery, and romance to create an eerie tapestry of the unknown. Play as Jenny, a teenage camp counselor fighting for her life as a deadly creature of unknown origins stalks her every move. Can you survive the dangers of Camp Bear Ridge summer camp and find love along the way?

Our visual novel has unique point-and-click adventure elements. Interact with objects and use/manage your inventory well to discover hidden lore and solve puzzles. Found a key in an inconspicuous location? Take it with you! Might be useful for later. Items stored in your backpack will help you progress through the game. Take it everywhere you go. Never know when you might need it.

Unlike normal point-and-click adventure games, "Bad Summer" has a big emphasis on romance. Our horror elements are inspired by successful visual novels such as The Letter and Doki Doki Literature Club. Our romance took inspiration from k-dramas, TV shows, and steamy best-selling fiction novels. Our storyline was also heavily inspired by interactive drama video games such as The Quarry and Halloween movies starring Jason Voorhees.

Expect jump scares, blood, gore, death, and analog horror sequences.

Although horror and unsettling themes is the primary focus in Bad Summer, this is a narrative-heavy game with choices, consequences, and multiple endings. Your decisions can either save lives or end them. The stakes are high in Bad Summer and you will find yourself constantly questioning who to trust.

Romance is a critical part of "Bad Summer", but we didn’t want our game to feel like an average dating simulator. Instead, when pursing a romantic interest in this game, there is no “right” or “wrong” choices. Converse with your love interest however you choose. Take a timid approach, speak with them from the heart, boldly make your advances, or shy away if you want to.

You won’t need to choose the right answers to romance a character in this game. No need for a guide or silly mini-games. Be yourself and you’ll find love regardless. You deserve it.

But you can only romance one and you’ll be locked in early in the game. (There will be a notification before you make the choice, don’t worry.) Choose wisely. Your life might depend on it.

hello, Anna! idk if the pinned post has been updated, but what's the current progress on the game? Alpha build specifically. it's been a hot minute since I checked on your blog, hope you're still going strong 💪

Hello hello!

I do keep the pinned post updated with current information; you can always check the update date at the bottom of the post. Since we're in a bit of a limbo period, there's not a lot going on and there aren't really any notable updates.

I've stopped doing monthly dev logs on this blog for now, but I will be bringing them back once there's more to report outside of the finnicky little bits of alpha development. I do bi-weekly progress reports on my Patreon. And I am always happy to answer asks that come my way!

This is where things are right now:

the alpha build is part way through Episode 3. Last year's update is available to play through my Patreon.

the next alpha update is currently being playtested. It should be released to patrons on Friday (provided I get all the bugs fixed!)

a patch should be coming soon to the public build to do some upkeep and fix some bugs

there's still a lot to do to get Episode 3 finished. The goal is the end of June, but that's a very optimistic estimate and may change.

I released a road map for 2024 in January. These are rough estimates and are very much subject to change.

The ideal is to finish Episode 3's alpha in the summer, get Episode 4 done by the winter and release Episode 3 publicly in December.

So still going strong! 💪 Slow, but strong. 💖

Weekend Mornings Headcanons (Part 3)

Omen

He rarely sleeps, but will stay in bed with you until you do. He usually knits, the only time he gets up is when he wants to refill his tea. He finds you endearing, and will absolutely melt at your sleepy face (the lights on his mask would flicker). You usually ask him to wake you up on certain hours, but during the weekend he lets you sleep in (you got a human-sized alarm clock :D).

When you wake up he stops knitting and look at you, saying, "good morning (Y/N)." You'd reply back and go to the bathroom to freshen up. After you finish, you would grab his hand and walk to the kitchen together. He would so totally blush.

Honestly after everything he's been through, I think Brim would definitely let him have a cat as emotional support. That cat hates literally everyone including you, but as time goes on she would adore you as much as you adore her. If you or Omen are on an overnight mission, the other would take care of her. If both of you are away, then Killjoy would watch her. On weekends, the cat would jump on your bed and sleep right between you and Omen like a small child, and her whiskers would wake you up. If you're allergic, then she would jump off the bed right away when you started sneezing (you still love her, though).

He'd go and make some tea for breakfast but you told him to sit down, telling him that you will do it as a thank you for accompanying you last night (and you'd put his tea in front of him and say, "your tea has arrived, princess," and he'd smile on the inside).

Spends the morning at the rooftop, the sunrise gives him tranquility. You'd interlock your pinkies together while sipping on your drink. Sometimes it's silence, sometimes both of you talk. He rarely gets to do so on weekdays because morning is time for briefing and preparing for missions. Overall, he's a menace on missions and a softie on base, and that's what you love about him.

Phoenix

This man loves hugging you to death like Jett. Sleeps only with his pants on cause it's too hot, no matter if it's his or your own room. Sleeping with him is convenient during winter, but during summer you couldn't take it and kicked him out LOL. You apologized because you felt like you were offending him, but he just laughed and hugged you, telling you he understands. On weekends, though, in the early morning he would wake up and go to your room so he'll be the first thing you see in the morning (he is a SIMP).

Whoever wakes up first wakes the other one by scattering kisses all over the face. If you are the one who does it, then he would smile, grab your waist, pins you to the bed, and return those kisses tenfold. If he woke up first, he'll kiss while he tickles you (you kick him in the stomach due to instinct).

Yeah, you'd definitely do the nasty in the morning if you're both up for it. If you're not, then morning cuddle is the perfect solution.

He understands you need some time for yourself so he won't be around Sunday morning and night. Instead he'll be in his room making music (and his door is always open for you in case you actually wanna spend time with him).

Breakfast is non-existent for him. "Let's just wait for lunch!" He usually says. But he will absolutely walk you to the kitchen if you want to make some tea. Since VP pays their agents a lot for putting their life on the line, you and Phoenix would take turns treating each other to some K-BBQ (sometimes you'd go with friends as well like Jett or Raze).

Raze

Her alarm is a boombox. It's canon the dev team whispered it to me. Anyway, it's shaped like a boombox and it would blast loud music. At the beginning of your relationship, you instinctively grabbed a pillow and smack it on Raze because you were startled by her alarm. You apologized, she apologized, and changed her music into something much calmer. You told her she didn't have to do that, and she replied by saying she wants you to feel comfortable too (you couldn't sleep that night because your heart is pounding too hard).

Since she's always awaken by loud music, it took a while for her to wake up to calming music. This means you'd always wake up first, and she counts on you to wake her up. You tried shaking her gently and kissing her face, but it was no use, so instead you tickled her. She wakes up giggling and would say good morning in a raspy voice (congratulations, you unlocked a new kink).

She's the opposite of Phoenix, breakfast is a must to her. "How am I gonna function with an empty stomach, eh!?" she would say. So if it's a special day or you're feeling very good on a Saturday morning, you'll cook and it'll be a full-on breakfast combo for her. If you're bad at cooking, you spent the night browsing 24/7 diners near the base and wake up very early to go get some takeaways.

Not really the type to have sex in the morning. She's the type of person to only want to do it if she has full energy.

Spend the morning watching TV series together while she gobble up her breakfast (and she'll definitely feed you too) and would suggest you shower together.

Reyna

She would let you go nowhere if she hasn't wake up yet. Her grip would be tight and solid, so you'll have no option other than to sleep again.

Is not the type to wake you up (unless you ask her to), she'll let you sleep a little bit longer on weekends. However, if it's nearing 9.30 A.M and you're still not awake she would kiss you on the forehead gently and say, "time to wake up, mi vida." No one would believe you when you said you've heard Reyna's soft-spoken voice.

She needs to train Neon so if you're feeling reaaaalllly lazy on Saturday she would chuckle and told you to wait for her to return. Once she does, she would cuddle you while you both talk about what you're getting for lunch.

However, one day she gave Neon a day off from training, and she spend the morning with you instead. She laughs when you said you wanted to watch Spanish telenovelas to see how far you understand it (though inside she's touched you want to be able to communicate with her in her native language).

She'd ask if you would join her to train Neon and often you accept it. Neon would be so happy to see you because you would scold Reyna if she tries to push Neon too far to practice her powers. "Fine, fine, only because (Y/N) says so," she replied. Sage just chuckles in the background.

Sage

No matter what day it is, she's up by 5 A.M meditating with Astra (or sometimes yoga with small talks, mostly about each other's S/O).

After that she'd shower and get ready for the day. She usually doesn't do much healing on the weekends, probably small injuries from practices. She made it clear to everyone that her morning are off-limits because she wanted to spend time with you.

Since she takes care of everyone, it is up to you to take care of her. You told her to stay in bed even after she got ready so you could make a breakfast-in-bed for her. Sometimes she complies, but other times she would laugh and told you the kitchen would do just fine (she likes watching you cook anyway).

I'm gonna headcanon that her favorite breakfast is porridge, it reminded her of her home country. You weren't familiar with the recipe so you'd try all night perfecting your cooking. When you accidentally touched a hot surface you asked her to heal you. She would scold you before asking what happened and you decided to tell the truth. That was when she fell deeper for you and kissed your hand. Now, though, you were an expert at cooking and even made extra for everybody else. You only cook on weekends, though, since your morning is busy just like everyone else.

One time Brimstone knocked on the door and she answered, and his eyes darted to your sleeping figure. Sage's expression were unreadable, but he knew she was both pleading not to tell everyone just yet and daring him to try and tell her to break it off. Brim sighed, before telling her about an upcoming mission. After he finished, he put an arm on her shoulder and said, "if they make you happy, then so be it. You deserve to have someone who takes care of you too."

A/N: I have this lingering fear that my headcanons aren't entirely gender neutral or welcoming to anyone regardless of pronouns...please don't hesitate to tell me if I do make a mistake on that. I want my headcanons to be enjoyed by everyone. Thank you and have a nice day 💕!

12 Autumnal Reads With Pan Rep

As the days grow longer in the Northern hemisphere we don more layers, grab a hot drink, and say goodbye to summer. While maybe too cuddling up with a book. In similar fashion to the past for Pan Pride Day with wintry stories, and Pan Visibility Day for sunny reads, this time I’ve put together a list of examples offering pan rep set around the autumn season. Across demographics, several genres, and various lengths, the cozy to murderous, feasibly one will fit that next read. But no matter what may suit one’s tastes and whims, as always happy reading! (For content notes please see my reviews on Storygraph.)

A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows, boasting a gorgeous autumn leaf themed cover, is a hefty first installment in the fantasy series the The Tithenai Chronicles. An unprecedented surprise diplomatic marriage between nobles Velasin vin Aro (gay) and Caethari Xai Aeduria, (bi/pan) sparks more than attraction. Violence, murder, and a hefty dose of intrigue swirl.

The Adventures of Isabel by Candas Jane Dorsey, the first in the Epitome Apartments Mystery series with a cast of colorful characters, is an offbeat mystery. Opening in September, at its center a coarse Canadian ex-social worker turned clueless amateur detective (bisexual/ambisexual/pansexual). Convinced to investigate the murder of a friend’s granddaughter, more than a case will end up cracking.

All the Things We Do in the Dark by Saundra Mitchell is a YA psychological thriller. Set in small-town Maine in October and told by Ava (pan), a 17-year-old with PTSD who stumbles on the body of a murdered teenage girl. Scared, haunted, and distrustful she’ll sleuth out a killer while trying to hold herself together. Author Saundra Mitchell is also pansexual. Note this is furthermore a title that has been banned in some libraries in the US.

Bride of the Corpse King by Emily Shore is a New Adult dark fantasy retelling of Hades and Persephone. Needing the winnings for her family, Isla Adayra (pansexual) enters the Bone Games. Further to escape a match with a dreadful lascivious Elder, she’ll offer herself to one more powerful the Corpse King. Allysteir accepted his duty of the gods’ Curse, but year after year the cost bearing the spirit of the God of Death weighs heavily. Allysteir doesn’t want another bride, but Isla just might be strong enough to tempt Death and even more.

The Ghosts of Halloweenby Ceillie Simkiss takes a light Christmas Carol vibe presenting three bite-sized Halloween short stories about couple Cora (panromantic asexual) and Elena (lesbian) from the Learning Curves series, I previously mentioned in my wintry post. Expect more of what makes this romance series a treat. Author Ceillie Simkiss is also panromantic asexual.

The Home I Find with You by Skye Kilaen is a hopepunk polyam romance set in the aftermath of a second civil war in the United States. Van (pan) the lead defender for a circuit of towns in rural Colorado with his girlfriend Hadas meet Clark (gay,) after Clark shows up unexpectedly in the aptly named Freshtown. As a previous threat and winter also approach, this is a hopeful title centered on people and kindness in spite of violence that may leave the reader feeling warm inside as well. Author Skye Kilaen is also bi/pan.

How to Find a Missing Girl by Victoria Wlosok, a fresh debut YA thriller, features an amateur teenage sleuth Iris Blackthorn (cis pansexual) with two of her friends, Sammy Valdez-Taylors (cis lesbian) and Imani Turner (non-binary lesbian). The trio forms a sapphic detective agency out to solve the disappearance of two people close to Iris as the clock ticks down during the Louisiana autumn. Author Victoria Wlosok is also pansexual.

Sweet to the Core by Amy Aislin set in a small seaside town in Maine is a romance novel between Dev (gay) who owns his own bakery and his cousin’s best friend Clark (pansexual) a wildlife biologist. Dev’s harbored a crush on Clark since childhood. Clark is usually a no-strings-attached guy. But set aside the pumpkin spice and enjoy another staple of the autumn season— apples. When the two team up entering an inaugural baking contest with a sizeable cash prize, mouthwatering baked goods aren’t the only thing that is very sweet.

Trick or Treat by Sydney Blackburn is good if you’re in the festive mood for a sweet little, short story Halloween treat featuring Drew (genderfluid pansexual) and David (cis bisexual) meeting on All Hallows’ Eve.

Vampirella from horror host to heroinesince 1969 has become a sensual pansexual icon enthralling comic readers across the globe. Including me with Vampi having the honour of being the first pan character I knew of. If you need some direction on what to read, SYFY has a Pull List for the Legacy of Vampirella. (Though I’d skip anything by Warren Ellis.)

Wild and Crooked by Leah Thomas has Kalyn and Gus two teenagers that become unlikely friends despite a decades old murder that connects them. Set in small-town lush Kentucky autumn with a smell “like sticky cinnamon”, the slow burn here isn’t romance— but a mystery. There’s abundant queerness: Kalyn likes girls. Gus questions and is regarded as pansexual by many readers and critics to quote “When it comes to people, I care about personality before anything else, and gender’s another characteristic that factors into that. Maybe that does land me in one queer realm or another”. Plus, his mother has a female partner. Too note, garnering young adult award nominations, this is another title that has been listed among book challenges.

The Witches of Portland series by T. Thorn Coyle brings readers an urban fantasy with a social justice basis and dash of romance. Each installment focuses on different members of the Arrow and Crescent coven in Portland, Oregon. If you’re intimidated by the full nine-volume set don’t worry, the books also can be read as standalones. Author T. Thorn Coyle is also bi/pan/queer.

By Dusk (Book 7) set around the autumn equinox features coven member Moss (pansexual) an environmental activist working to prevent pollution of the Willamette. And new to Portland, the rich, on the surface carefree party girl Shaggy. The two previously hooked up at a festival but might have more.

By Dark (Book 8) set in the last week of October thru Dia de Los Muertos features coven member Alejandro (bisexual/pansexual) an IT consultant entering a midlife crisis and his likewise polyamorous partner Shekinah (queer) a graphic designer and Kundalini yoga devotee. But when a friend of Shekinah’s starts having terrifying visions that also besiege Alejandro, it’s an interfaith all-hands-on-deck to uncover dark secrets and affect something terrible afoot in Portland.

Dev and Chris run into each other whenever their dogs wake up in the middle of the night and need a walk. After their third time running into one another, they began to bring each other various beverages (hot chocolate in the cold, lemonade/fruity drinks in the summer.)

When they're not running into each other on late night walks or saving each other during adventures, Chris and Dev meet up to bake. Usually at Chris's place, where he teaches Dev various recipes for any date he may have coming up. While he shows the warrior a few tricks, they talk and catch up on events in their lives.

I really want to advance more in game dev. I want to learn c#, c++ and aaaall the other languages used in game dev. But sadly, I don't have enough free time to do this. Hopefully this summer!

Hello! Today was a wonderful day! I had my Concurrency final and I didn't really care much for it since I have already passed this subject since my midterm but I know I did well.

And to reward myself, I took my little self on a self-date! I visited Muji (it's always a pleasure to visit Muji) and I picked up a bunch of stuff (just some notebooks :D, their pens don't really work well for me since I'm left-handed😪) and then I just strolled around; It was scorching hot today but it was fun! At the end of my journey, I picked up some boba for me and my brother (Taro Milk flavor with extra pearls🧋) then I went home and took a nap 😄

I'm planning on reviewing a bit later if I'm unable to sleep tonight.

I am so sorry for the people who followed me I completely forgot abt this acc

But anyway

I made a lil’ thing.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TW!!!!! I mention lots of violence, lots of cussing, lots of mentions on injections, i trauma dump for a bit (I think), uh, uh, uh, yeah. That’s it. Lmk if I needa add more.

It’s complicated but I was wondering what it’d be like if my sona was a miguel variant!

He looks a lot different each drawing I make of him due to me playing around with styles so keep that in mind that consistency is nonexistent to me.

I hope this reaches the right ppl lol

I was a little nervous to show this to such a big fandom but then I remembered this is tumblr! I can do whatever, be cringe, and survive!!!

So here’s this, it’s all gonna be under the cut cause I took this as an advantage to geek out lol (a blessing and a curse)

Okay! So! His face, right.

Facial features.

This face. I did a lil’ sheet of him with and without glasses. He looks scared but bare in mind this is technically my sona and if you know me almost all of them I make are in this constant state of anxiety, and this is my way of projecting. So shhh.

In contrast to Miguel’s heightened sense due to the injects, Perry’s senses are erratic. This man’s vision gets worse TENFOLD. I’m already blind as is irl (that’s sarcasm) and the injections being unpredictable due to this dude’s like. Whatever, it makes it WORSE. Also the overstimulation is BAD with him.

As a reference to Miguel’s slicked back hair, he has his hair behind his ears. It’s a habit he does and will often fidget with his hair by constantly tucking it behind his hair and he refuses to tie it up.

Build/suit

This man is somewhat chubby but all that action will definitely muscle him out. Here’s him in the suit btw.

I think he would wear clothes overlapping the suit but because it’s like holographic and emits SO MUCH HEAT, he can’t do it during summer.

Cause imagine how hot that thing is!!!

I’ve seen the speculations that miguel could be very well naked underneath that suit, and I’ve seen how it’s like a running joke, like sure, it’s funny

BUT IMAGINE WEARING THAT THIMG EVERYWHERE WITH NO A/C!!! NO FANS!!! I imagine it being just as bad as wearing fursuit during summer (not coming from experience, but I see the struggle)

It must be super hot! I don’t know how but it LOOKS like that thing just RADIATES heat.

But no, my sona isn’t naked.

Venom

And the little fangs ref is from me being half asleep and dreaming while being awake somehow, and I guess I drew that??? Who knows.

He has natural fangs but the injections 100% make them more pronounced.

I’m not gonna overpower him and make his venom more dangerous but I’d say in addition to paralyzing his opponents, it also causes skin irritation.

Just picture it.

You’re can’t move and have to wait it off, but, your skin starts itching. It gets itchier and starts to burn BUT YOU CAN’T SCRATCH IT!!!

So you’re just laying there like “AAAAAAAA” cause then you’re worried it’ll blister, (it won’t), and you can’t check cause you can’t move!!!!!

I’m an evil genius I know 🤓

Being bit by him would be the equivalent of having to use your teeth cause no matter how many times you scratch that one part of your hands as a kid (even as now) it wouldn’t stop itching!

Character personality/arc/dev

This part was trickier. I didn’t know if I wanted to make him completely different from canon or make him similar but not too similar. It was hard.

So I focused on small traits I knew I wanted him to have.

And I think I went bonkers.

Uh yeah. I told you the art style changes quite a bit.

I think this man would love to see Miguel’s year but not long enough to figure out all the futuristic stuff. He’d be an iPad peepaw 😞

Also I’m half Samoan myself irl, so I wanted to sprinkle in that Samoan rep in this. I see little to none in most of the media I explore around, and it makes me a bit sad but if there’s like an explanation lmk.

I know there’s some Polynesian rep in the community, just not as much as I like, so here I am adding to that in pride of my own culture. (I’m still doing research on it as someone who isn’t all that connect to my heritage so it’s not good rep but bare with me, I’m getting there. As these reference pages evolve so will the rep.)

I like making a lot of these sonas so I might remake this one in particular.

I figured I’d give him a more animated character while keeping miguel’s stoicism and attitude, so here’s the characteristics I did wanna give him.

Moody. Has mood swings due to various reasons but for Miguel’s character’s sake we’ll leave it vague.

Constant state of worry and paranoia. I have been showing signs of paranoia so I’m not pulling this one out of my ass, but I do see miguel showing signs of it during high stress. It’s a headcanon I have, but I’d imagine what years of being aware of the fact there’s more people like you in a whole strand of endless possibilities, and one of them is where you’re a fictional character and being conscious of that 4th wall, it can cause you to think some stuff.

Opinionated. That’s. That’s it.

Sassy. He’s so zesty and for what lmao.

Smartass and witty. I imagine him having huge yelling matches with miguel if they were to ever meet, but in the end would get along like an old married couple. Would miguel even remotely like him? No. Not even close. This man would HATE my sona. My sona would hate him back, but as someone who’s had yelling matches with other people he’d prolly be like “damn. I can respect that.” But wouldn’t DARE to tell miguel.

Intelligent. Yeah, he would’ve been better off being an art student or a lawyer, but because of the whole canon event he had, he’s stuck as spider-man. His civilian wear is a lot more cozy in duality to him being spider-man.

Forgetful. I imagine him going to the shop and just going “shock! I forgot to change!” And he’s already almost done with his grocery list in his spider-man suit so the people there are just like, “OMG SOIDERMAN WHAT R YOU DOING HERE???”

So uh, there’s that. One last thing I’d like to add is that I may or may not have studied Miguel’s character just for his personality and to take inspo.

I think it’s clear I don’t take him seriously lol

I also think this man would have bad nightmares since I do (fun fact! I don’t dream. It’s constant nightmares) and because of that this man would 100% sleep with a nightlight and some background noises of crowds talking bc nostalgia is the best medicine.

But it gets awkward at other people’s houses and he’s afraid to ask so he ends up staying up all night in pure terror of his nightmares. His nightmares are enhanced due to his senses. (For me, it’s imagination and having a constant active mind, but since this is my sona and I don’t have an arc for him, it’s gonna be bc of the injections.)

I think he’d be just as gay and trans as me.

Being in a big multiverse, I think he’d learn quickly that life is just too short to live while being worried of the norm and what others think.

There’s two different types of social anxiety (<- sarcasm) and he has both.

My sona would be very touch starved so he isn’t used to stuff like hugs and will often become flustered! It’s cute imo but gawd damn!!! Someone cuddle this boy and tell him he’s alright

LYLA!!!!!

His lyla would prolly be named lyla too. I think she’d just be a bit of a prototype.

But perry loves her like best friend. his lyla would be the lesbian in the dynamic while perry doesn’t care what gender you are, just please don’t use his coffee mug or mess with his pile of endless papers.

I also think he’s chose her own outfits and hair styles so while sure I’ll have her in pigtails to give movie lyla’s playfulness and duality a moment recognition. But you’ll also see her in black hairstyles with actual hair texture as her avatar varies cause I made her black for 1) practice and 2) just cause. Okay? Okay. (keep in mind i’m HORRIED with fashion. So I have no idea what I’m talking abt with her character design. You’ll have to learn with me and realize that I’m pretty much clueless on how the color wheel works, so be patient plz. I take constructive criticism tho btw.)

I think his lyla would be bossier and a lot more chatty. She’d sit there and rant about whatever information asked for and because he has ADHD this lyla would involuntarily speak like she has it too, but wouldn’t really show signs of it. If she were humanized i think she’d prolly have autism more than she would ADHD but because he works under conditions he prefers, he might make her a little all over the place cause I myself rlly hate routine and familiarity is hard for me to let go of in a certain way, so I think lyla would indirectly be made to where only he knows what works and what doesn’t with the important stuff

If miguel were to ever switch lylas he’d go crazy with this one. This lyla would stare at miguel like he’s speaking some other language since my sona would probably start with some bestie banter before getting into business so if miguel were to just start barking orders at her she’d be like “Uhm. Excuse me? 🧍” she’d put him in his place as she does with my sona but at the end of the day she’s still an AI so it doesn’t get so bad to where she can’t function and can’t get work done.

She would prolly have to remind my sona the time and other stuff like that cause if the forgetful factor but considering she has social skills my sona does, she’d prolly end up talking about something else entirely but at the end of the conversation she’d always remind him.

My sona would 100% giver her a stupid nickname like “android” or for shits and giggles a more human name “Andrea” and wouldn’t tell lyla abt it, but secretly whenever he’s talking abt lyla to civilians and family he’d refer her as “Andrea” for laughs but since it’s not in lyla’s code SHE’D HAVE NO IDEA!!!

I know it’s canon that lyla is canonically a small bit sentimental and somewhat secretly crushes on miguel in the comics (correct me if I’m wrong) but I’m p sure that happens and to that I say, she wouldn’t even remotely like my sona in that way, I see these two more as siblings in this universe than I do with the originals, so these two variants are seen as siblings and often times act like so!

Universe headcanons

I think what would separate the two from each other is my sona’s world would be a lot closer to what the 90’s kids thing we’d have in modern day society much rather what 2099 would have.

Like if you were to ask a kid from 1995 or something about what they think would happen and they said “flying phones” then so be it, bam it exists now lol

That’s just an example.

So it’s like what the 60s-90s predicted, or tried to, but a lot more realistic and the economy is better by 6%. Which isn’t a lot, but by today’s standards, it might as well be.

I like to think that his universe is WAAAAAAYYYY more diverse.

A lot more necessary items would be more available.

I also think my sona would be from the capital of oregon, Salem, much rather New York just because oregon has a special place in my heart.

This man’s civilian life is boring.

Before he was spider-man, I’d imagine him as an art guy. When he had time for it and used it as a job.

He’d probably be an artist with a psychologist degree. Which, yes, far from each other, but he uses it to the best of his ability to combine the two things.

Transportation would be funky, as flying cars would technically exist, but man would it make traveling easier.

Money would work the same way since I don’t really know how to make systems that would work out for the futuristic shit 2099 would offer, at first glance it seems a lot of it costs a lot, so I’d imagine it being a struggle.

And in any case, this also means my sona’s lyla isn’t his! This man stole got it from his brother.

My sona had two brothers as a reference to my own brothers, but for purposes of staying true to Miguel’s character (which I have not been doing well at doing) he’ll have to stick to having 1 that’s consistently mentioned. Which brother? I have decided to keep that vague.

End.

In conclusion: I just needed to rant abt this character and have been anxious to post abt him since this means a number of things and because I saw a bunch of other people come up with this idea many times before, but I really wanted to make this a thing since it’s been in my head nonstop.

Admittedly I thought abt this idea before I saw everyone else’s ideas, but after seeing them all I was super scared to post my version, but after some consideration i figured I’d just take down the post no problem if it comes down to it.

I don’t really like miguel as a person (this is not miguel hate/slander in any way), but man, he’s a great character. Like, sure. He’s an asshole with too much of an ego to save himself, which I’ve noticed is a running joke in the fandom.

But after seeing the script, I’ve noticed that this man is just misunderstood. Miguel is nothing more than an antagonistic hero who has nothing better to do than do what he views as right.

What he did is unforgivable, but it makes sense.

I will forever stay by Miles’ side of the whole plot, but it made sense why miguel would go to this extent. (Not saying he’s in the right. Miguel really isn’t and his cut and dry reasoning to why he does shit ARE NOT valid reasons as it’s completely unreliable, but if I were in his shoes and trying super hard not to fuck shit up, I’d PANIC.)

His biggest flaw is getting too caught up into the past and using his trauma as a reason for everything he considers logical, just to get by and help others the way he needs that help. The way he thinks is help for everyone, or the way he thinks is best TOO help.

Using trauma bonding (which is implied) to then “help” others to “not make the same mistake”, being so fixated on it to the point you can tell he hasn’t had human contact in any normal way for a while.

This also may explain the touch starve and touch adverse headcanons going around the miguel tag.

In a way, I admired miguel in that sense. He was like me, just if he was a bit grumpier.

He acted how I used to, and his shame was just as matched as it was with trauma.

And I felt that.

So, I decided to make a sona based off him. I promise I’ll make a more original one, but for now have this miguel rip-off.

While I hate miguel, I also respect his character as a whole.

(And because of the arguments of opinion and mischaracterization, no. This isn’t canon, this is my interpretation. And no, I will not demonize him just because I hate him. I honestly think he deserves just as much good as miles does, but miles needs a lot more attention as of recent events.)
