it's really accurate of tua s3 to answer the question of "how do you get a bunch of siblings who annoy each other to get along" with "give them a sibling they are all annoyed by more". the stupid fighting the stupider, 10/10 for strategy

huh. So, my first thought was "so they're rehashing the moon subplot again." But then I remembered. Hotel Oblivion is on the moon. Now I'm imagining the guilt Luther's going to feel over spending four years on the moon and never noticing their father's super messed up moon prison for supervillains.

I wanted to be something else. Myself, but better. Wild, and not-yet, a burn, maybe as it is occurring.

okay is it just me or was hotel oblivion kind of uhhhhhhhh lame? like when lila and diego went in and just met the one guardian guy it was pretty decent but in ep10 it was just like we are Wandering in some Hallways and some Guys made of Bugs keep jumping out of corners and trying to kill us 🙄 idk i just feel like they could've made it more exciting or eerie bc the build-up to the hotel was way cooler than the reality of it ya know?

hey... why does the academy have forty three bedrooms?
Reginald Hargreeves is an alien man with a chimpanzee companion/buddy/confidant and a robot caregiver and has seven adopted children. We come to learn he specifically chose to adopt only seven and no more, but why does the academy have forty three bedrooms... did he initially plan to have backups? Did he plan to take them all in?? Is that one theory of the forty-three miraculous babies being his actual spawn true??? Maybe even a prison of sorts???? Reggie my guy I need you to stop being a cryptic bitch for TWO SECONDS and give me an ounce of what goes on in your 4D chess of a mind.

I think with all the cockroaches from hotel oblivion running around, it was a missed opportunity that they didn’t have five see one and just pounce it like a cat and eat it. The family would’ve gone feral and it would have been a cool nod to his apocalypse days of surviving on scraps. I just think it would’ve been hilarious.

hotobv (vol 3. of the COMICS.) is genuinely a masterpiece imo...it improved on any issues i did have with the older stuff and really honed in on like. what makes tua tua. like the plot is so scattered as to be almost nonsensical at times but the themes are soooo tight. the genuine tension and payoffs and twists that reward the invested reader are honestly sooooo good, enough to justify ~24 pages being a month's worth of content....like tua is very much not for everyone but when it is for you...god it really does feel like it is, like it's targeted and personal. and also...........the colourssssssss...................

reggie is so fucking stupid though, he knew he needed seven alien restart powerup kids but didn’t get a spare? didn’t keep tabs on the ones he didn’t get? five disappeared and then he just threw his hands up like “welp guess this batch is fucked guess i’ll just be an unremitting bastard and hope time travel comes in to fix all my mistakes” after ben died reggie’s ONLY option was trying to jump start an apocalypse that five, lost in time, would eventually encounter, so reg would get a do-over for his do-over?
the umbrellas were never trained for oblivion because once they lost five and then ben, there was no point, there weren’t enough of them to do what he needed!!! it’s not just that Ben dying made it so that the Umbrellas were never the same, it’s that once Ben died they were no longer useful to him as a key to oblivion. i hate him so much

TAROT The Major Arcana
Key 16: The Tower
General meaning of this card: The overthrow of selfish ambition
Interpretation: Selfish ambition is about to come to naught. Conflict, change, unforeseen catastrophe. Old notions upset. Overthrow of existing ways of life. Disruption will bring enlightenment in its wake.
Reversed: Same as above, but in a lesser degree. The gain of freedom of body or mind, but at a great cost. False accusations, false imprisonment; oppression.
More Umbrella Academy Tarot cards! This was definitely a harder one, mostly due to the fact I prefer drawing characters/people and not buildings or backgrounds. So a challenge, but a fun one! Also, playing with some perspective which was tough (also don’t come for me about the people on the bottom, I know they’re rough haha). Let me know what you think!
Card Interpretation taken from ‘Mastering the Tarot: Basic Lessons in Ancient, Mystic Art’, By Eden Gray.

And I am trying not to want to be someone else, or myself, but better, which is, in a sense, a kind of death drive, a death wish.
