Thank you! I’m glad that’s the image you have of him because that’s more or less what I’m going for. It’s an interesting balance: giving him that “life without dangers” confidence and easiness we know of Rise while also having him be a bit more of a 24/7 concerned-maybe-a-bit-entitled mother hen like in more classical iterations.

I do enjoy writing him immensely. TWS unfortunately doesn’t have enough room for him, what with Raph and him butting heads so much. I hope that once I finish TWS and move on to a more generic plot fic (working title: 0Nin 👀) he finally gets some of the spotlight he deserves.

You should try animating it in two parts. First the primary animation, and after the secondary animation like the cloth and hair. It helps ;9

U///U thank u sm! i’m using the base but it doesn’t fit my art style (SO thin wtf!) so i’m gonna concentrate on the body first from now on! i’m determined to get this to look right >:3c

aside from that big anniversary animation i did in November, the last animation i did was this!

which has 22 frames and was a pain in the ass. i’m not even completely happy with it either ;-; doesn’t really have a kick to it!

i think my main issue was trying to resize the reference and fighting that, so i ‘m gonna try adapting the reference into my style the best i can??? augh it feels weird. its just tracing but it feeeels weird. i haven’t rotoscoped since highschool

what i’m trying to do is sketch out the main shapes, drawing one frame at a time then doing the detail. like, one finger at a time ect. i think its ok? not perfect and i’ll defs get better as i go along rippp i can already see the smile has bad placement, i just feel so out of my league! but thats all the more reason i’m glad i’m doing this because i really do need to work on my animation skills!

Do you know of any other fics like "Mind meld part delux"

Well, first, thank you for not insulting me or being anonymous. I've had some bad experiences with that.

Second, it depends on what you mean by "like" Mind Meld Part Deux. If you mean angsty rottmnt Donnie-focused fics, I know a few good ones:

I. Angelo by PrincessFreak (Definitely the closest to Mind Meld I can think of in terms of Donnie-betraying-his-brothers, but not for you if you don't like smut, tcest, and noncon).

2. A Scientific Blemish by CharmyWizard, eternalglitch, jadethestone, tiramisu_art (Donnie gets captured by the writers' version of 2018 Bishop and has to escape; writing and comic blend)

3. Sad Machine by dragondawdles (Donnie "dies" and deals with the fallout of having to transfer his consciousness of a robot)

4. Got Your Back by FoxGlade (Focuses on Donnie dealing with the whole "soft-shell" issue and how it amounts to a disability in his world)

5. The Kids Are (Almost) Alright by LynxCore (A hunted Draxum shows up at the Lair and Donnie has trouble forgiving him)

6. pathetic by cxlesstial (A mental-health fic dealing with self-harm and other serious issues; very good, but also full of trigger warnings)

7. superfight by persepoline (Donnie gets in a fight with Leo that has big repercussions for them both)

8. lockdown by guide_to_the_galaxy for hotmuffincrumbs (Donnie's mind basically starts to disintegrate; now with a sequel)

And this is less likely, but if you are asking about post mind-alteration fics in general (these are all TMNT 2012, btw):

1. the way back home by taizi (post Clash of the Mutanimals, Raph and Mikey)

2. Devil took your hand by moogsthewriter, taizi - (Foot Mikey AU)

3. And after the bombs subside by moogsthewriter (Clash of the Mutanimals AU, Raph and Mikey)

4. jade green eyes turned white by subtlyfailing (Clash of the Mutanimals AU where it took Raph a lot longer to get out from Shredder's control)

5. Desolation by goodstoryfan (Post-Season 2 inspired by City Fall with a brainwashed Leo, now a series)

6. The Devil In I by Kareh (Another post-season 2 AU with City Fall elelemtsn)

And those are the ones that come to mind most quickly.

I like the potential that is the mutant town and I did like that the issue of people being mutated against their will was finally getting addressed. Also, I honestly like Mona as a characters and Donnie stupidly infodumping on her and her freaking out was incredibly satisfying for me since it made her more rounded to me, but all these turtle boys are still who I'm personally the most infested in. And yet they still haven't gotten most of their trauma addressed and all of them except Mikey can honestly be interchanged atm. I'm all for experimenting and doing things differently, since so much in tmnt has been done to death, so please, keep spicing things up, but I would also just love if certain story arcs would finally be followed through instead of it ending abruptly with all the emotional baggage being whiffed away within 2 issues. Also, yeah, I'm biased I guess, I generally still love the turtles and their weird and patched together family dynamic the best. I wanna see more of them together.

THIS!!! I really loved and still love the concept of this mutant town arc! But it feels like the turtles are getting lost in the storyline in opposed to sticking out. When Leo went on a stake out that was like YES this is great... but then they let that drop for a bit.

Idk if that’s by design but it makes this interesting, unique storyline fall flatter and flatter every month for me as the story begins focusing more on the politics of mutant town and less on the turtles’ mission with Hob and Stockman.

I think I honestly wouldn’t complain, if the turtles were given the chance to finally fully recover from years of built up trauma during this time. Like if we got to see them take this time to band together instead of doing little personal side projects maybe?

Instead it feels like dumping yet another stressor onto them that will likely go unresolved when the next arc rolls around.

All i can compare it to is in Steven Universe when Steven went through these layers of intense situations that barely got tapped into until the bonus season- and by then it felt very strange.

Right now I find myself reading each issue WAITING for something to happen in so far as character development, but it feels a bit like they’re just... there.

And while i really do like these new characters they feel idk just oddly placed. This whole world that Sophie is making just feels very 2 dimensional. But I’m really really hoping for some pick up!

I loved Mona getting more complex and definitely loved Donnie’s infodumping, im hoping to see more character!!

They’re fourteen and got their weapons. :3 They wear matching keikogi (training uniforms) to practice.

(And I’m guessing some sort of test was involved like in that one Fast Forward episode, so the outfits are of ceremonial nature as well.)

Wow, anon sure went out of their way to insult you. At least do it in person if you so badly feel the need hurt someone's art. I can understand disagreeing and arguing a point regarding choice of words. Like, fair, being called cringe for something can feel pretty defeating and being assigned shame can really ruin your self-esteem. But, do they understand the irony here? Personally I think you were pretty valid in what you said before. You're not even bothering people about it like anon is.

Ah! Then maybe also try pose to pose animation instead of frame by frame! It helps with the arcs of the movement and also the placement of things like the mouth :) Frame by frame is good for if you want things to have a spontaneous flow to it, but I think pose to pose would help you better when animating this. I mostly animate pose to pose myself, since it gives me better control of the movements and keeps the art more consistent and on model.

GOD YES pose to pose is so much nicer on consistency! straight ahead has its charm and its what i lean on too heavily because its easier >v>; god yeah i’ll try that!

honestly i’m a lil rusty on how the timeline works on CSP PRO but I’m sure i can get the onion skin to stretch out once i dig for it lmao. crossing my fingers i’ll have better luck tomorrow! <33333
