Ptah, Primordial God of Architecture, is one of the precious allies of Ra, to whom he proved his utmost loyalty by marrying one of his daughters: the rebellious Sekhmet. Despite being total opposites, the marriage with the aggressive lioness goddess worked pretty well, and soon they gave birth to a son, Nefertem, with whom they formed the inspiring and powerful triad of Memphis. He is also the master and adoptive father of Imhotep, the builder of the first pyramid.

[ House of the Sun UPDATES - 28th February 2024 ]

House of the Sun 1st Anniversary!

It's been one year exactly since I first posted a vision of what this project could have been. Initially born as some sort of character design practice, it slowly took shape into a coherent plot that I ended up summarizing into a series of drawings and mini comics.

Of course, the project is far from being completed, as there are still so many stories and ideas I'd like to share and many other possibilities I'd like to explore myself. But for now, I can only express my gratitude to all the people who have been believing in this project, and who are still actively supporting me with their enthusiasm. I will never stress enough how grateful I am for this.

Hopefully, I'll be bringing more content this year, including the new comic parts I've been talking about. For now, I'm leaving this commemorative post I made mainly for myself, as some sort of self-motivation to improve and always do my best. I've always dreamed of making my own comic series and hopefully, this might be the first of a long series!

“Taiyou no Ie/ House of the Sun” by Taamo

“After her mother abandoned her and her father remarried, high schooler Mao Motomiya is left feeling like she doesn't have a place where she belongs. One night, her childhood friend Hiro Nakamura finds her in a shrine eating cheap convenience store food and offers to take her to a restaurant. Their subsequent heart to heart leads to Hiro suggesting that Mao move in with him.

To Hiro who has lived apart from his younger siblings all these years after their parents passed away, bringing his family back together in the once-lively Nakamura home begins with the first step of giving Mao a loving place to belong.

When Mao reluctantly accepts his invitation, she is surprised at how easy it is to settle in with her longtime friend. Now she must deal not only with mending her relationship with her father and helping the oldest Nakamura brother attain his goal, but also her growing feelings for Hiro

My opinion: 11/10!!! It was so wholesome and the author dealt with big age gap relationship so well! 53 chapters so pretty decent time needed, love both the Female lead and Male lead ❤️ One problem was that there were too many love triangles, so the lack of miscommunication was a little frustrating.

Something I think about a lot is how Rick Riordan very rarely uses "girlfriend/boyfriend" to refer to Percy and Annabeth within their perspectives. They're so intertwined, even Annabeth says in hoh that the word boyfriend isn't strong enough, because Percy was a part of her. They are a singular soul, too wrapped around each others' fates that regular labels are far too weak for them. But, Rick Riordan uses "boyfriend" a lot in Nico and Wills perspectives, not because they love each other less than percabeth, but to show how much the word means to them. Nico uses it any chance he gets- "his boyfriend," "he actually had a boyfriend," because Nico has never been able to say that before. Their struggle with their queer identities mixed with Nico's catholic guilt and chronic everyone-hates-me disease makes the fact that he has someone to call his actual boyfriend so much more important to his character development.
