Hi, I’m a housekeeper. I’ve seen plenty of nicely left rooms, and some utter messes that made me almost cry. For the most part, people are super well behaved and I thank you for that.
However, this job is really taxing. I enjoy it, but a lot of housekeepers are usually quite young or they are older, which can be a lot of pressure on them for health and mental reasons. I’ve had to start using braces on occasion.
It’s a difficult job no matter where you go- and one rule I live by is don’t do what I wouldn’t like to clean up. So here are some things you could try to do, and make a hard job a little easier. Please consider re-blogging this so that others can try to help out too!
STRIP LINEN It saves water, but also it saves time for us too if you strip the linen off anything you’ve touched and leave the stuff you haven’t alone. Towels can be reused, but I would leave a note for the housekeeper to alert them.
ROOM CLEANING Most hotels can offer room service, however, in my hotel this can be added on to 10 rooms already. If you don’t need it, please make it known at the front desk or leave a ‘do not disturb’ sign. If you really need it, make sure you move your stuff off what needs cleaning as we cannot touch it.
TIPS Optional, but after cleaning a room with four kids and yogurt in the tea and coffee bowl, it is nice to see a little tip. I personally will take sealed consumable items like soap or once, a whole box of tea. It’s not much, but it has knocked our toiletries cost way down.
BIG BINS If your bins are full, and you know you’re going to have more rubbish, ask for a large bin bag. We have those. You don’t have to break the rubbish bag because you needed to stuff it in.
CUPS, MUGS AND CUTLERY If you have taken food up to your room, if you have a drink from the bar or glass bottles, if you have dirty mugs- consider who has to take those back. If you have time take your things back to where they came from and try to reuse the mugs and cups.
AND FINALLY, KNOW THE CHECKOUT TIME In our hotel, final checkout time is 12. Please go to the front desk even if you have a card box outside your room, and try to be packed and leave as early as you can. I’ve had days where I have 6 rooms, but no one leaves until 12 and I end up working overtime to finish. Check in time is 3 for me, and having guests want rooms while you’re rushing to catch up can make me incredibly stressed.
These aren’t all going to be doable, or present, but please, please PLEASE consider doing one or more of these for us. Any housekeeper will tell you a clean room can make the last bad room seem far away.
Thank you for your consideration and kindness!

Webtoon recomendation!
Do you like comics? Do you want something to read? Well, that's great coz I wanna ramble about my favorites so be welcome! Take a seat.
Note - CWs because in the series descriptions there might be sensitive topics: domestic abuse mention, human trafficking mention, suicide mention, noncon mention, torture mention, death mention.
Total: 13 webtoons featured, of fantasy, thriller, romance, sci-fi, mistery, the superhero genre, paranormal mistery and adventure. Some are very light, others are very whumpy.
Castle Swimmer (ongoing)
Genre: Fantasy
What is it about: In an underwater world, different merpeople live with their kind in castles. In an isolated castle, the shark people suffer from a curse, and their only hope is their prince Siren, as there is a prophecy stating that he will kill "the Beacon" and free his people. Meanwhile, Kappa, a rogue mer, is a messiah sent by god who was born to fullfull prophecies. He is known as "the Beacon". The duty of his life is to fullfill them, and he never said no to none. One day, the Beacon arrives at the shark castle; the people are cheerful! Their suffering has come to an end! Prince Siren heads to killing the Beacon, but... he isn't like he expected. Can he really kill him? If not, then what should he do? Both of them were born for one reason and one reason only. What if they can't fullfill their duties?
Notes: Romance subplots and lots (I mean lots) of queer characters! General trigger warnings for blood and some violence in certain chapters. All of the chapters have cws. Sometimes there is a panick attack.
2. SHELTER (ongoing)
Genre: Fantasy, thriller, science fiction
What is it about: Ruka lives with his mother and his uncle/stepfather in a small town. From the outside, they seem like a neat happy family. But no one seems to notice what happends inside closed doors. Ruka's uncle is a violent and unforgiving person, and whenever he takes a misstep, there is a punishment. He dropped out of school and works at his uncle's diner, trying his best to protect his mother from the person she married with. One day, his only and best friend Pom gives him a gift: she left the town for college and they can only talk to each other by phone. The gift is a virtual reality gear--she says "try it out! I'm sure you will find out something cool there." Ruka tries the VR out and dives into the world of Vahana... he ends up finding out more than he initially thought.
Notes: I absolutely love this series and the art style evolves a lot from the first to most recent chapters. General trigger warnings for despictions of domestic abuse, human trafficking and censored noncon. There may be mentions of suicide as well. Apparently no queer characters at all, uncertain if there is a romantic subplot, but I like to think that no. Oh, and in the first 50 chapters or so I don't think it has many cws. If something specific happens, there may be one (I can't remember) but after that all chapters have a general trigger warning and sometimes a chapter-speficic one.
3. Housekeeper (ongoing)
Genre: Science fiction, adventure (?)
What is it about: In an alternative world where humanity has achieved great technologic advancement still in 1930 or so, the government of all the nations was unified in one and most of human labor was replaced with AI work. Navil is a kid who lives with his grandmother, and one day, he finds a broken maid robot and asks her to fix it. He names the AI as Hasty and they grow to become dear friends. One day, however, humanity faces a threat: A misterious disease has spread around all the world and is turning humans into zombies! When her master Navil is turned into one, and there seems to be no hope, what will Hasty do?
Notes: Don't stop reading when the boy gets turned. Do not. General trigger warnings for mild fantastical violence. I'm not very far in the series so I'm not sure but it doesn't seem to have openly queer characters. No romantic subplot. No cws as far as I've got. Oh, and there is some blood too, so take care.
4. Lovebot (ongoing)
Genre: Sci-fi
What is it about: In the far future, technology has advanced and humans have travelled deep into space. A certain renowned company has trademarked one of technology's most impressive advances: Artificial partners! Lovebots are advertised as "better than real" and the perfect companions for you. They are customizable to be whatever you want them to be, from appearence down to personality traits. Xada, also known as Jackalope, is a hacker who used to be hired to customize people's lovebots for a lower price, but for the new version released it is actually illegal to do so. Even though, a customer calls Xada to customize his brand-new lovebot (he wants to desactivate the sutdown response for when the bot is in too much pain?? wtf) and he accepts the job. When he arrives at the customer's place, though, the lovebot seems unsettlingly... human. When he comes back home from the modifications, he doesn't know yet, but Xada unlocked a secret that might evolve to a whole series of conflicts... with he and the lovebot right in the center of it.
Notes: Lots of openly queer characters (you can notice in the literal 1st pannel), HUGE romantic subplot, I think I shouldn't even call it a subplot coz it's a big part of the story. General trigger warnings for domestic abuse mentions, violence, toxic relationships, panic attacks, blood and...oh yeah, both noncon/dubcon mentions and consensual (just implied, thankfully for me) sex.
5. The Ember Knight (ongoing)
Ehhh, disclaimer: This seems to be set in the same world of another webtoon by the same author, a few years later. It seems like the previous webtoon is called Gilgamesh but I haven't checked that out. It seems like some of the characters appear in both webtoons and some of the lore is only shown there. I haven't read it yet but it's not preventing me form enjoying the story, so I'd say it is optional.
Genre: Fantasy
What is it about: The Knights are the country's greatest military force. They have powers beyond human comrehension and protect the people. Nagyuun's brother, Najin was training to become one of them; he was talented, strong and kind, like any Knight was supposed to be. Nagyuun couldn't be more different than him; even though they were twins, while Najin was extremely talented and considered a prodigium with 100% of chance of becoming a Knight aprentice anytime soon, Nagyuun wasn't much more than a normal guy. He loved his brother, and even though he had hard times, they were as close as they could be. That is, until one day, assassins invaded their home. Najin was murdered, and Nagyuun, just a normal person, couldn't do anything against the Knight-level threat. His brother was dead. Nagyuun could not let them go without revenge, but they were already far away--vanished just as quickly as they had arrived. He then borrowed Najin's identity. They were identical, so the only thing that set them apart, was their names. Nagyuun's plan was to live as his brother and pretend he was the one who died so he could attract the assassins. Your job isn't done just yet. But Najin was an extremely talented person. How could Nagyuun ever pretend to be like him? How could he create the illusion that he was at the level of a Knight aprentice? He didn't knew, but in what he lacks in skill, he compensates in rage. He would not let his brother's murderers get away from that.
Notes: I absolutely LOVE this series, the designs and the colors (the colors) are amazing and I love all the characters and the plot and everything--Nagyuun is such an amazing character, and sometimes the lack of skill he has becomes lowkey comic. General trigger warnings are violence, blood, character deaths (you saw what I said about Najin) and bullying. (And also pretty poor coping mechanisms if you want my opinion.) No romance as far as it is, no openly queer characters either.
6. Señorita Cometa (ongoing)
Genre: Mistery
What is it about: Alex is a young woman who lives in Yoalco, a city with high crime rates with two opposing mafias. She works at the Yoalco police department but she's also a vigilante--Her best friend Lola went missing and now she is going to do whatever it takes--under whatever title she gets undo--to find out the truth about what happened to her--and probably dismantle a whole trafficking web in Yoalco.
Notes: This webtoon is phenomenal, there is music in some episodes and the lighting and the drama--I love this one sm. It's more of an epic sometimes lighthearted mistery than an edgy story. General trigger warnings for some mild violence, blood, human trafficking and mentions of noncon. A few romantic subplots, no openly queer characters for now.
7. Realta (on hiatus)
Genre: Fantasy
What is it about: Many ages ago, the Signs decided to share their magic with humans--by giving them their blessing according to who they were born under, humans aqcuired fantastical powers. Fourteen special ones were chosen by the signs: The Realta. Each sign has one (aside from gemini and pisces, which have two) and the Realta would always reborn under the same sign. Ellowen, our protagonist, is a virgo who lives in a little cottage with their grandfather since they were a little kid. The last time they saw their parents was so many years ago... because around the cottage there is a magical barrier that is meant to keep any dangers away. One day, Ellowen's grandfather dies, and the barrier that kept them safe and isolated from the world for so many years vanishes. When they take the courage to leave their home, they decide to reunite with their parents after so long--but the problem is that Ellowen has no idea of where the virgo village is. They soon find a capricorn girl that seems like she can help them, but what will have changed them while Ellowen didn't see what was happening to the world?
Notes: This story makes me SO HAPPY because there are not only openly queer characters, but it's normal courtesy to introduce yourself with your pronouns, and you will see lots of characters doing this. There is romantic subplot and a lot of characters I really like, and it is on hiatus for a while. I can't wait for when it gets back >//////////< The plot is not centered around any of the characters queerness though, and everything about Realta, from the worldbuilding down to the artstyle is simply beautiful. And it has such magical vibes to it as well. General trigger warnings are character deaths and some violence.
8. PARA-Professional (ongoing)
Genre: Paranormal mistery
What is it about: Two friends decide to explore what it is said to be an old haunted house. One of them pays no mind to the rumors at all, but the other knows something is going on... They both find out more than what they thought they would in there. And it doesn't stop there.
Notes: Some romantic subplot, openly queer characters, and honestly, everything about this series is so charming. The author also has another series (also ongoing but shorter and with fewer updates I think) that you may want to check out: Cryptozoology. General trigger warnings for... Blood and death mentions. It came back from hiatus a while ago.
9. Castoff (on hiatus)
Genre: Fantasy adventure
What is it about: Vector means no harm to no one, but it's not like people believe it. He's not quite human and seems to have some elfic heritage... but aside from that, anyone who sees him treats him like a monster. He lives with his adoptive mother, a librarian, hidden away from everyone for everybody's sake. That is, until a weird customer arrives at the library, and when, despiste his best efforts, she sees him, she doesn't seem afraid at all. And from there some chaotic things take place... what is she up to?
Notes: Amazing. Awesome. And it has its own site with more frequent updates, even thought it is still on webtoon. I don't think there is any romance or openly queer characters but for me some of them are pretty much queer-coded-ish. There is a lot of characters and the magic system and worldbuilding is awesome too. General trigger warnings for mild violence, a little of blood, death mentions and mentioned accidental domestic violence.
10. Cinderella Boy (ongoing)
Genre: Fantasy
What is it about: It's summer, and even though Chase doesn't have any part-time job like his relatives advise him to, he's buisier with other things: A while ago, he found a magic key that allows him to travel into books, and for every tale he finishes, he gains some drops of this misterious substance called narratonin. As soon as he finds out what it serves for, he decided: This summer, he'll gather narratonin enough to make a wish. Some people don't want him to have it easy, though.
Notes: No romance, no queer, it's pretty lighthearted and fun. There are a lot of misteries still unsolved and I'm honestly eager to find out.
11. Uriah (ongoing)
Genre: Thriller, mistery
What is it about: One day, a boy wakes up in the back of a car, bruised, restrained, and with absolutely no idea of where he is, or what is worse, who he is.
Notes: HEAVY trigger warnings for this one, and for most of the chapters this series has no cws. Blood, violence, extreme violence and lots of blood, domestic abuse mentions, sexual abuse mentions, human trafficking, character deaths, death mention and torture, honestly, like someone got heavyhanded on the whump sauce for this one. I actually love this one, but it can get pretty dark. I love most of the characters and it seems like there is some romantic subplot going on. Some of the chararcters are openly queer, including the villains. You're going to be very confused for a lot of the first season if you read it, and as the story goes on, you'll have to decide who is the good guy and the bad guy on your llist again.
Oh, and that person with the motorcycle is a girl (she/her), just so you know. Don't let the comments section confuse you.
12. Our Walk Home (on hiatus)
Genre: Romance
What is it about: In a city, two great and renowned schools have a sworn enemyship. None of their students are friends with each other, and the rivalry is so strong that it sometimes gets unhealthy. Akihiko is a top student in one of those: He has a big social circle, amazing looks, is athletic and smart. Everybody on his school loves him. He values his position, and he got a lot of effort in to get there. Even if... even if he has to pretend to be someone he's not, be extra friendly with everyone even when he's emotionally drained and give away some of his mental health. On the other school, they say there is a worthy rival for Akihiko. Harumi Kurose, who comes from the overseas. They say he's a genious with an ice heart, who looks down on anyone who isn't worth his time. Akihiko is told he will have to face Harumi one day, and despiste not showing to anyone, he is completely terrified of the guy. One day, they meet. It didn't go as Akihiko expected, though.
Notes: I love the art. Like, really really love. The art in the other ones is cool as heck but this one is really special because it is. So so so so gorgeous. And light. And refreshing. Love everything about it. CWs for this series: Death mention, toxic relationships, and, uh, burnout I guess. It's very gay. Not many openly queer characters, tho.
And last, but definitely not least:
13. Jupiter-Men (on hiatus)
Genre: Superhero
What is it about: In Jupiter City, there is a urban legend of a misterious vigilante called Jupiter Man. In a school in the city, it studies a young boy called Quintin, alongside with his twin sister, Jackie. Quintin is a big fan of Jupiter Man, and, when there is a rumor that he went missing Quintin decided to look for him. Jackie tries to put some sense into her brother's head, but he won't listen to her. Despiste not wanting to, she ends up going with him. But instead of Jupiter Man, they find another thing, and that may be a key to a misterious chain of events that will give them more than what they initially hoped for.
Notes: The art. Style. The designs. Amazing. Okay, so, there is no romantic subplot, no openly queer characters until now, and Jupiter-Menis entering its second season. It was when I was reading this I noticed that I actually love the superhero genre. The characters are amazing and compelling, the lore is very very fun and everything is pretty engaging. Cws include fantastical violence, some blood and death mentions. There are also some references to greek mythology, and, yeah--if I was to describe this in one word, it'd be "fun". It's a great one.

Working in the service industry is so fucking degrading.
I'm paid minimum wage to clean up other people's mess in hotel rooms and it's so bad. Sure some customers are decent and put the rubbish in the bin and an even fewer number in that some are so kind they strip the bed before they leave but most are vile because
urrrdurr someone will clean it up. It gives you a job to do you should be grateful fjfjdjskd
I'm not grateful for cleaning up a maccies bag worth of chicken nuggs from under a bed. How can I be grateful that you took 2 bites of a 12 piece and decided to throw the rest on the floor, leave it there all night and use your sheets as a napkin.
And don't say "damm people live like that" because NO THEY DO NOT THAT'S EXACTLY WHY THEY'RE DOING IT IN A HOTEL ROOM

Dearest @maalezzo...Thank you so very much for your request! It was such a pleasure to write! Lots of love!
Prompts: Spy AU - Housekeeper - Someone can't tell the truth
Words: 2,2 k
Characters: Thorin x Bilbo
Warnings: Reference to illegal activities
Tumblr media
Thorin adjusted the black shirt he was wearing while schooling his face into an open, neutral expression.
It was of tremendous importance that he gained entry to the cosy-looking little house at the edge of the sleepy village—Gandalf had been very clear and concise in his instructions. Thorin was to infiltrate the household of one Bilbo Baggins in order to find out if there was anything to the rumours that the son of a much famed but profoundly unfathomable woman had in fact followed in his late mother’s footsteps.
As far as Thorin had been able to ascertain, Mister Baggins was by no means a very adventurous man beyond the odd trip to places nobody seemed to really remember the names of. That alone struck the brooding man as highly suspicious.
Thorin, of course, was himself a spy of the highest calibre—had his been a profession in which one could be renowned or even famous, he certainly would have been. Alas, the inherent secrecy of it was the crux of all his present problems for there was no way of knowing whether Bilbo Baggins was the indolent dandy he pretended to be or not without getting up close.
At the same time, this also allowed Thorin—an accomplished professional and excellent fighter—to pose as a potential housekeeper and maid. Oh, the very idea was ludicrous; he was, at least at first sight, much too bulky and cumbersome to easily slip into that role.
Nevertheless, Thorin had done his fair share of cleaning. As a matter of fact, his pristine handiwork was one of the elements that set him apart from his competition, not that one could really compare the theft of highly sensitive documents to the cleaning of extravagant, round windows, but—for what it was worth—he did not doubt for a single second that he had the necessary skills to keep his cover intact and beyond reproach until he had properly assessed his prospective employer.
Reminding himself once more to convey the impression of being a simple but kind worker, Thorin rang the doorbell.
Gandalf—an odious meddler and infamous trader of information and secrets—had somehow gotten hold of some items that were of immense value to Thorin’s family and had been deceivingly agreeable about the prospect of an eventual restitution. As ever, his goodwill had a price though.
“I need to know what Bilbo is doing? There is an entity that is known to some but has never been positively identified—someone who is so incredibly discreet that they seem to positively vanish in plain sight—and I wonder if that could not be my old acquaintance’s son,” he had muttered pensively while smoking his pipe as if he didn’t have a single care in the world.
“I’ll find out for you,” Thorin had immediately promised—after all, the act of discreetly ascertaining, locating, retrieving, and smuggling things was his forte.
When the door in front of him opened, Thorin instantly thought that he was wasting his time—the soft-looking, distinctly comfy creature smiling at him brightly could never in a million years have beeen a dangerously witty and skilled thief and spy.
“I’ve come to postulate for the housekeeping position,” Thorin said in a wooden tone.
“All right, I was just organising my pantry. Do you want a glass of iced tea?” Bilbo asked politely. “Do you like iced tea?”
“No,” Thorin said impulsively, even though he very much did. The way those twinkling hazel eyes had travelled along his muscular body, clad all in demure black, had taken him at unawares and kindled a nervous flame within his chest.
As he followed Bilbo into the house, Thorin cursed himself. He knew only too well that—to construct a good and credible façade—one had to pick and choose carefully what parts about oneself to hide and which innocent truths to keep.
Somehow, he now yearned to dissimulate all of himself—every weakness and flaw—and that nonsensical urge led to idiotic lies such as the one that had robbed him of a glass of sincerely delicious-looking tea.
In his defence, it had to be considered that lying was part of his job and vocation, and thus, it was hardly surprising that it came easier to him than to most ordinary people.
“Suit yourself then,” Bilbo said with a shrug and led the way into a kitchen that was overflowing with pans and pots, herbs and spices, treats and savouries. “More for me!”
He pointed a pudgy finger at a pile of dirty dishes. “You can start with those,” he suggested kindly and sat down by a wooden table with a beautiful patina.
Remembering his monumentally important assignment—he had to retrieve those family heirlooms at any cost—Thorin turned to the sink resolutely; despite his vast experience and skill when it came to wiping off blood and fingerprints, he was not exactly an expert when it came to cast iron pans or delicate porcelain.
“Have you been a housekeeper long? Do you have references?” Bilbo asked after a while, a slight edge to his voice.
“Years and years,” Thorin lied smoothly—he realised that he should have asked Gandalf for a letter of recommendation.
“I only ask because you’re presently pouring laundry detergent on my best China and you’re scrubbing a Teflon pan with the abrasive side of the sponge,” Bilbo hummed pensively.
“Ah.” Mahal have mercy, Thorin thought. “Old trick my grandfather taught me,” he reassured his potential employer smoothly, easing up on the fragile coating he had been abusing so vehemently for the last minutes. Thrór, as far as Thorin knew, had never touched a wet rag in his whole life and, even if he had, he would hardly have shared his “top ten tips” with his son’s son.
“Indeed.” Bilbo did not seem convinced in the least. As a matter of fact, he eyed Thorin suspiciously while fidgeting with a bright golden ring on his finger absent-mindedly. Everything in this house struck Thorin as a tiny bit old-fashioned—this kind of lavish country house décor had gone out of style a long time ago. Everything, with the exception of that almost shockingly plain piece of jewellery.
A new thought rose in Thorin’s torn and beleaguered mind: what if Bilbo was married? The very thought was irrationally displeasing to Thorin—he outright objected to the presence of another person who could interfere with his mission. Moreover, he had thought that his tight, slightly stretchy trousers and the formfitting button-down he was wearing had gotten a rather interesting reaction out of Bilbo.
Without overmuch vanity, Thorin had to concede that people—women and men—often found him quite attractive and he was not above using his face and body as valuable assets in his efforts to convince others to see things his way.
If there was but the slightest chance that this comfortable, soft creature could be lulled into a false sense of security and coaxed into giving up his innermost thoughts and darkest secrets because he found Thorin pleasing to look at, the confirmed spy would ruthlessly take advantage of that to unmask the hitherto only suspected thieving mole.
“Well, you are certainly the most interesting of all the candidates I’ve seen thus far,” Bilbo commented another few minutes later. “I think that I might want to give you a chance.”
The faint undertone of piqued curiosity and self-confident inquiry made Thorin’s skin tingle.
“You do know how to do laundry, right?” Bilbo asked.
“Obviously!” Thorin replied, doing his best to emulate the haughty and yet heart-wrenching expression of hurt pride his sister wore so well.
“Good, I’ll have to go out for a while to…look into something. We can discuss the details of this arrangement when I get back. Don’t look at me like that; I shall trust you to take good care of the basket by the machine downstairs.”
Thorin’s mind was racing; he was torn between wanting to know where Bilbo was headed and vibrating with eagerness at this very early and welcome opportunity to rifle through his belongings systematically and discreetly while the man himself was out.
“Is that all right?” Bilbo asked gently as Thorin merely stared at him with a blank expression on his handsome face. “You can manage?”
“When you come back,” Thorin replied sharply, “I shall have your laundry and dinner ready.”
His teeth snapped shut on his tongue and he had to suppress a howl of pain. Why had he said such a tremendously stupid thing? In truth, he was only familiar with half of the programs of his own old, battered washing machine which, in itself, might only have had a third of those one of these new-fangled machines was equipped with.
Moreover, Thorin was a mediocre cook, and he did not recognise, let alone know how to prepare, two out of three food items he had espied in the generously stocked larder Bilbo had shown him earlier.
A piece of advice he had actually gotten from his dearly departed grandfather came to his mind. “Thorin,” Thrór had grunted, “you’ve got our stubborn pride and I wouldn’t want you to be led into terrible danger and subjected to unnecessary suffering because of it. Guard your tongue, my boy, especially when your blood runs hot, and your mind freezes over like a winter lake.”
With a sardonic smile, Thorin returned his attention to the dishes to dissimulate his rising distress. Too late for that epiphany!
“Okay then,” Bilbo chirped from the door, “I shall be back soon. Up the stairs, second door on the right would be your room; if you’re done with these two measly chores, you can go unpack and unwind.”
Measly? Thorin swallowed heavily—he was in over his head in ways that were new and strange to him, but he would never have made it as far as he had in life if he had been easily dissuaded or discouraged from a plan by something as negligible as lack of experience, skill, or knowledge.
As soon as he heard the front door banging shut, Thorin took a deep, steadying breath.
He had not told a single truthful word since meeting Bilbo Baggins and—what was worse—he had led that deceivingly placid and pleasant man to have high hopes for his new, promising housekeeper.
“I could either wing it,” Thorin mumbled under his breath as he perfunctorily wiped down the dripping porcelain with a ragged but clean floor cloth, “or I could call Dís and have her coach me through this one.”
Making a good impression and securing this job, unfortunately, turned out to be more important than Thorin’s prickly pride, and so he leaned against the woefully high-tech washing machine impatiently while listening to the droning sound pouring out of his sleek, black phone.
He had already stuffed surprisingly interesting and alluring pieces of lingerie into the gleaming drum.
“Be careful!” Dís warned in a huffy tone. “If you ruin French lace on your first day, you’ll be literally kicked out.”
“Thanks, sis…so how exactly does one do it right?” Thorin grunted, his eyes still glued to the flimsy pieces of fabric—he only half-listened to his sister’s lengthy explanations as his mind kept replaying every single second of his interaction with Bilbo.
“Is he who Gandalf thinks he may be?”
“I don’t know,” Thorin whispered, remembering with a shiver that—if Bilbo was indeed that elusive rival and colleague—he had the reputation of moving in and out of rooms unseen and unheard. “The only thing I am quite sure of is that there’s more than meets the eye, and I owe it to my family and myself to get to the bottom of this.”
The pensive hum oozing through the tinny line was as mocking as it was affectionate.
“Keep me posted,” Dís chuckled, “about the underwear, the dinner, and your overall progress.”
“Will do,” Thorin promised and put his phone away again to focus solely on the execution of charmingly mundane, homely tasks. As he stood surveying his steaming, bubbling pots a little later, he realised that he was proud of the meal he had cooked and that he hoped that Bilbo would actually like it.
The whole scene was so out of character for him—he looked and felt like an absurd cross between a maid and a husband—and yet, to his own astonishment and amazement, Thorin found that he liked it.
Yes, within a few hours many perplexing developments had occurred, and he could not wait to follow every lead until he had unearthed every truth he could possibly get a hold of, besides recovering the items Gandalf was holding hostage and which seemed to fade progressively into the background on the list of things Thorin was curious about.
Mister Baggins, spy or not, was an enthralling enigma, and Thorin’s instincts were on high alert. As he turned off the stove and started laying the table with the dishes he had cleaned earlier, it struck him that his motives for going to such lengths might have been a little more selfish and less professional than he had originally thought or planned.
And then, the front door opened.
“The show must go on,” Thorin hummed and gave Bilbo a radiant smile that—unlike all his previous communications—was terribly honest and vulnerable.

The Clean Bedroom Checklist
BOOK US HERE
1. Declutter
Remove items that shouldn't be in your bedroom: dirty dishes, magazines, old receipts, and so on. This stage also involves sorting out your closet, drawers, and shelves, and getting rid of items you no longer require.
2. Dust from top to bottom
Always start dusting from higher to lower areas. Clean light fixtures, fans, bulbs, door frames, then switch to furniture, shelves, and finally, baseboards.
3. Clean bed linens and pillows
Bedding should ideally be laundered every one to two weeks. Remove all the linens from your bed and wash them thoroughly. Don’t forget about throws and pillows – they need washing too!
4. Aeons-old mattress
An unused mattress can become home to millions of dust mites. Therefore, make sure you vacuum your mattress every month. If it has been more than seven years since you've replaced it, it might be time to invest in a new one.
5. Mirror, mirror on the wall
Get your glass cleaner and wipe down mirrors and any other glass surfaces.
6. Clean the floors
Vacuum or sweep your bedroom floor well. Make sure to move the furniture and clean those hard-to-reach areas as well. If you have a carpet, vacuum it.
7. Wipe down furniture
Use a suitable cleaner to wipe down all pieces of wooden furniture.
8. Refresh the room
Open your windows to let fresh air in!

The Housekeeper
Tumblr media
Summary: Thomas becomes very interested in up cleaning, and offers you his assistance during spring cleaning; but could it be a ploy to get into your home, and spy on you and your most intimate moments?
Warning: smut, dub-con, alcohol consumption, drugging, stalker, thoma is a freak in this, proceed with caution
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
You were the only child born to a pair of merchants. Your parents decided to keep on traveling and you were left back home. Inazuma was your home, and you have become quite popular over the years. Often receiving letters, gifts and proposals of marriage. Due to business relations you were quite well known, even doing business with the wealthy families in the area. The Kamisato clan was one of the many people who your parents had business relations with. Truth be told, you were friends with both ayaka and ayato. You often were invited to their estate to have tea with ayaka, and ayato found a good friend to chat with; be it business or something else. In extension, you often found yourself at the Kamisato estate more frequently then not.
You became well aquatinted with Thoma, he was respectful and well mannered; well that’s what you thought at first. He often helped you when you came over to the estate, often offering his help when you brought a lot of merchandise. He often took such opportunity to get near you and touch your hands. Offering his service, after some time you became friendly and thankful for his help.
One day on your way back home, you noticed that some of the merchandise you were carrying in your weapon had become damp; it had been raining a lot for a few days. Thoma saw your face drop and the look of panic placed on your features.
“Aren’t you staying for tea?”
“I’m sorry, but some of my merchandise had gotten wet, I need to check my storage room back home. Maybe next time, I’ll be happy to have that tea thoma.”
Thoma was sadden but then he smiled as a amazing idea popped up into his mind.
“I’m quite good at cleaning, maybe I can help.”
“I mean if it isn’t a bother, I would really appreciate it, Thoma.”
“A bother? Never.” And so Thoma and you made your way to your house, Thoma took notice of the neatly kelp estate you lived in, of course it wasn’t as big as the Kamisato estate but you were rather wealthy yourself.
As you proceeded to walk around the garden nearing the back storage room, Thoma couldn’t help but notice the various plants and wind chimes your garden held.
“Your garden is very beautiful, your servants must take really good care of them.” You could only chuckle and Thoma looked at you with a questioning look.
“I have no servants, the few we had are traveling with my parents on business.”
“Oh, I see.”
“Don’t worry about me, I know a few things about management. I just have a hard time with organizing. But I’ll get through it.”
And soon thoma and you got to work. Most of your merchandise hadn’t been wet, but you and Thoma thought it better to move everything out just in case. Thoma also found the leak, turns out the nearby pond had rotted away at the side of the storage room. Thoma told you to not worry, after you told him you had some spare wood and nails, he got to work. He made a bigger storage room on the opposite side of the yard, all the dry merchandise was re-wrapped and placed in the new storage room. The wet merchandise was left out to be dried in the yard.
After he was finished, you offered him to come inside and have some tea. Thoma obliged and soon he walked behind you, admiring the way your hips and breasts moved up and down with the movement of your step.
Thoma couldn’t help himself, when you kneeled down to prepare the tea. He took notice of the dip between your collar bone, and the way it dipped down into your breasts. Thoma could only stare, at you until you called his name.
“I’m done, why don’t you have a taste.” Thoma knew you had some knowledge about tea ceremonies and tea making, but he was beyond impressed when he tasted the rich flavor of the liquid.
“I wish I had more to offer you, sadly I can’t think of much of anything.”
“I can think of a few things.” Thoma could only smile as he caught sight of some bottles of liquor.
“Why don’t we play a drinking game?”
“I can’t really hold my liquor well though.”
“It’s okay, I’ll drink for you.” Thoma made his way to bottle stand, and poured you a cup of liquid.
He returned with a smile on his face, and soon enough, Thoma had you on a second cup. But this time Thoma slipped something into your cup. You took a few gulps before you got woozy.
“Come on, I know you can finish that second cup.”
You soon chucked it all down, and in a instant you felt dizzy. Just as your head was about to collide with the floor, Thoma held your body in his arms.
“I’ll take you to bed, okay?”
Soon enough, Thoma took you in his arms and placed you in your bed. But just as he was about to get up, you grabbed ahold of his collar and pressed your lips to his.
Just as your eyes fluttered shut, you let out a low whimper.
“I— I’m warm, my body is burning up. P-please help.” Thoma could only oblige as he saw you strip your kimono off your body, in that moment Thoma knew he was a goner as he saw the way your breast’s peaked out of your wrap, or the way your hips twisted as you removed your undergarments.
Thoma, knew it was wrong but he couldn’t help but squeeze your blossom with tender touches, but just as you let out a few whimpers thoma lost control, and stuck a finger or two in between your mound. With a few pumps you were squeezing your thighs around his hand.
“So g-good. Oh my goodness. Give me more.”
Thoma smirked as he let out that statement. Thoma was too far to gone to notice your red face or the way your thighs wrapped around his middle.
“P-lease.” Thomas could only obliged as he fingered you at a faster pace. With such whimpers leaving your lips, thoma could only stare in astonishment as you squealed and thrusted your hips up.
Thoma could only oblige as he stuck another finger into your dripping core. He took one look at your face and he couldn’t help, but leak out in pure ecstasy. He took hold of your face and kissed your lips roughly. He wasn’t done yet, he traveled down your body, and kissed your women hood before licking your lower lips up and down. You could only quiver as he placed his tongue into your dripping hole. You cried in ecstasy, and desperation as you pleaded for it to stop.
“Please don’t, I’m a virgin. Please don’t taint my innocence. I’ll do anything but that.”
“Be my wife, and I won’t taint your innocence.”
You were like a fish without water, but you could only nod in agreement. Thoma could only smile as he kissed your tear stained cheeks.
“I’ll love all of you. I promise you’ll be mine one way or another. I hope we can get married soon, let’s wait for your parents to return so we can have the whole family together.”
Thoma gave you a wide smile, but you knew better then to trust that gentle voice of his, or his sparkly eyes. He wasn’t just a housecleaner he was a monster in human form. That much you knew. You could only sob, as Thoma whipped away your tears.
You soon couldn’t help but cry out in terror, as thoma kissed your lip, he smirked as you gasped at the taste of your own intimate parts.
“Love, I’ll make sure to make you very happy. Don’t worry.”
