I enjoy doing housework, ironing, washing, cooking, dishwashing. Whenever I get one of those questionnaires and they ask what is your profession, I always put down housewife. It's an admirable profession, why apologize for it? You aren't stupid because you're a housewife. When you're stirring the jam you can read Shakespeare.

Conditioned whumpees who respond realistically to being on the outside
Whumpees who display appeasement or avoidance or incessantly apologizing or fleeing when they think someone might be upset with them
Whumpees who are afraid of the punishment they've become accustomed to
Whumpees who recreate lesser punishments to reassure themselves that they will not get the worst option
Whumpees who yell and berate themselves loudly when they make a mistake because in their mind, as long as there is yelling, the consequences end there
Whumpees who inflict small violences on themselves, hitting and pulling so that their caretaker won't have to
Whumpees who hide all the knives/potential instruments of torture if they suspect someone will be angry when they come home
Whumpees who take the initiative to try to influence or control how people respond to them and what they do
Whumpees who push boundaries, who test the waters by doing things that the whumper would have punished them for
Whumpees who keep pushing, for whom life becomes about doing the most terrifying thing they can think of just to see if no one will hurt them for it
Whumpees who do this to the point of self-detriment because their concept of what constitutes dangerous behavior is completely fucked
Whumpees who are people thrust into a world with rules they no longer know with people whom they can no longer read
Whumpees whose stories are about them and their journey into that world, not about their caretaker's shock and horror at their condition

Even working from home is emotionally bad for you and I will stand by that. “I love the freedom of WFH tho!” The problem here is working (presumably white collar jobs if you can work from home to begin with) for employers who refuse you the freedom to leave the office for urgent non-emergencies or doctors appointments etc etc etc. The problem is the bosses!!! (Or capitalism at large but unless you have a magic wand that could whisk our whole economic system away just like that, as much as i would love for that to happen, that’s not really realistic as a response here!)

Omg fam ur so not alone about the sleeping thing, my partner has both some health issues and also just a completely different sleep schedule from me that makes us sleeping together difficult, and a small apartment that makes it difficult to separate ourselves. And like. It's not his fault but its FRUSTRATING so I feel u ❤❤
😔😔😔Its frustrating bc its not her fault but also it kinda is bc i keep asking for basic communication
Im like hey are you coming to sleep in the next hour
And shes like in twenty mins
Which turns into two hours and im not going to dog her or ask again so i have to roll with the concept shes showing up whenever
I also sleep light so without fail if she comes in three hours later i wake up and it takes a while for me to return to sleeping
Its just a combination of stuff that makes this scenario like she doesnt say anything like dawg all i want is for u to poke your head in or msg me like im not gonna sleep yet but she gets mad abt it like its not super late!! FOR YOU ITS NOT you also work from home :/
Thats it and ill just bury myself under the covers n hope i dont wake up when she does come in

people on this site regularly talk about domestic labor in a way that reads shockingly similar to the way radfems talk about sex work, and it seems like everyone here has just decided that’s ok for some reason
like “it’s bad to force a woman to be a housewife and sometimes being a housewife can lead to abusive/exploitative situations; therefore no one should ever be a housewife/stay at home parent/etc EVER or else they are dumb and don’t understand feminism”
is shockingly similar to terfs saying that because forced sex work is bad and sometimes sex workers are abused/exploited, therefore no one should ever be a sex worker or else they are dumb and don’t understand feminism
like… you’re all just cool with recycled terf rhetoric being barfed up ad nauseum during every single discussion of domestic labor??

You're with your grandmother right now playing in her backyard but now I wish you were home playing in ours.
