absolutely dying to share the entire first chapter of Miniature Roses now that the whole draft is finished but also knowing I need to re-write vast portions of it dfkjsdlkf 

#although the chapter is written from Minnie's perspective like most of the rest of the book #I'm really trying to get a handle on what Ruzena is thinking #and I think the tough part is that she's in one of those oxymoronic moods where she's like #don't touch me don't look at me but also please don't leave #you're the only person I've interacted with in weeks and I want someone to talk to but also I hate talking to people #you're very strange and kind of off-putting but I know I am too and you don't seem to care #and that's just a lot of conflicting feelings! #and while there's a scene later where she has a diary entry recalling that night and saying as much #I also want the first chapter to at least set that up as making sense if not just outright implying it from the get-go #minnie isn't an UNRELIABLE narrator per se but she is a very UNOBSERVANT one #and makes a lot of assumptions #so the whole book is just me being like #how can I clue the audience into Ruzena's pov without compromising Minnie's character as smn who doesn't easily recognize others' feelings #how can I make Ruzena seem like someone really calculating and graceful to Minnie #but make the audience see how much anxiety she has and how offputting she is to most people
