blaine in blame it on the alchol has always been so interesting to me, and i wish that the episode was told more from his perspective. what always stands out are the things he says to kurt - it’s more confusing for him, and he’s trying to figure out who he is.

i wonder a lot about his journey with being gay to this point. perhaps he’s always had these questions, and came out before truly being sure of who he is, and if there’s one thing about blaine, he can fake confidence. it might be a degree of projecting, but i get this idea that, despite being “out and proud,” blaine still has a lot of insecurity about his sexuality, and, maybe just a little bit, is seeing if his attraction to rachel is real because of this insecurity. this seems very possible when, in the very next episode, blaine drops the absolute bomb that keeps me up at night that, at the very least in his mind, his father has tried to “make him straight,” and when later we learn about the sadie hawkins incident.

this is a kid who has been attacked for who he is, who believes his father doesn’t accept him, of course kissing a girl under the influence could give him these thoughts that maybe that is a possibility for him. his relationship with his dad could be better, it might make the world safer for him. but in the end he has to accept that that isn’t who he is. to me, that’s a much more compelling story than kurt’s side of things, and i think a really relatable plotline for someone like me who identified other ways for a long time because the idea of being gay was difficult.

and an aside: this could all work so well into klaine getting together in t-minus two episodes. what if blaine demonstrably sees how his feelings for rachel are not the same things he feels for kurt? what if the security this episodes conclusion gives him of knowing who he is makes him more ready to be with kurt? much to think about.

#deacf talks #like omg im gonna be thinking abt this nonstop for like the next week lmaoo #like omg i loved seeing the progression of everyone showing up in each others storeys and trying to piece together everything #like i wasnt too into it at 1st bc this book kept getting marketed as like 'pure horror'which it really isnt at least to me. at most its #just extremely unsettling. Which is good!! some of the storeys like jason and Anna /really/ unsettled me!!#but yea its def not the straight horror all the quotes on the book made it out to be #its mainly reflective? if that makes sense #like all of the stories have the central theme of 'capitalism sucks!' and u get to see how either bc of their complicity with the struggles #of the working class below them or the struggles they face as being the working class influence the horrors they face #while also tying into fells misdeeds!! and its just so good #and it made me like sit there and while also trying to piece everything together be like 'capitalism Does suck :|' lmaoo #this is one of the few books where im REALLY looking forward to a reread bc i want to mark the book up #an keep track of who show up where and my own opinions on why these ppl r facing their specific brand of 'haunting' and how it ties to fell #but like!! yea!! i know im making no sense here lol im just trying to get my thought in order lmaoo #so many times id read like a sentence or paragraph and hear it in johnnys voice. like DAMN id love to get my hands on an audiobook #but go read the book!! its so fucked up in a good way!#but im gonna go Insane thinking abt this book lmaoo #thirteen storeys

i've been so consistent with japanese for the past 2 months and i know i'm making progress but at the same time whenever i see a kanji i can't read i'm like. it is impossible for me to ever learn japanese i can't understand ANYTHING and i will literally never get better it is embarrassing and i should just stop etc.

#i always focused on the vocab and kanji instead of grammar bc that's how i learned english lmao #i mean by reading/listening and not really understanding the rules #but this year i wanted to focus on the basics so even though my kanji level is somewhere between n4 and n3 #i went through the entire n5 coursebook i bought like... 15 years ago omg and i made sure i understand and remember all the grammar rules #and then moved onto n4 grammar coursebook #and honestly i am blown away agkdgjsjd so many things i've known instinctively started making sense #and i noticed i learn faster #bc i already have the words and i am used to the language so applying the rules is easier #so uhhhh fucking around for 10 years instead of diligently studying wasn't entirely a waste of time ig????#but of course i'm starting to get impatient sgjsfjsj i need to buy n3 coursebook soon and then the real fun will start #k.txt #for the past year i've really been living the naruto way. believe-iting my way through shit

currently listening to a strange thing to say 🫡🫡🫡 it is very good so far i barely started but do not worry. i used to be big into csh (mostly i’d put it on my sad playlists because in the 14 minutes the songs would take i’d have stopped crying bc i’d be so bewildered by how long they were LMAOOO) and other long-song bands SO I ENJOY IT… and this song is so good oh wow the use of instruments is so pleasing (<- band kid in me i’m sorry)
