ship so good one of the actors literally admits that the chemistry is so palpable that he agrees with what the fans see and never had to fake it

idc what people are whining abt, i actually really enjoyed the netflix avatar series. the costume and set design was really beautiful, the effects were great, the performances were great. i think people are weirded out about the pacing and i understand that, but at the same time, they're working on netflix's budget and i think they did a great job utilizing the important material in book 1 to tell as well rounded of a story as they possibly could. and like sure, i get that it was jarring to see them start at the VERY beginning instead of starting w katara and sokka finding aang like the original show does for ex, but like. idk! i think they shouldn't feel obligated to hit every plot point beat for beat and i don't think we lost anything by establishing aang's background early on. actually, every single scene with master gyatso made me fucking bawl lol. aang's loss is soooo much more palpable in this show than the original one imo bc it lingers on that pain a lot more. there were a few story choices that kinda made me scratch my head a bit, like the fact that teo wasn't introduced as part of the new Northern Air Temple population and what effects that had on aang, but i'm really not mad about it. anyways i give it two big thumbs up and i hope it gets renewed for another season

I don’t know why, but it makes me so frustrated thinking about how the people constantly bringing up how the owl house was cut whenever criticism is levied against the show, are some of those same people who will turn around and act like steven universe being cut wasn’t any good reason as to why the last season’s writing may have been poor

i've been thinking about how weird it is that sometimes your favorite pairings go exactly how you expect them to go and sometimes they just don't at all. specifically, in the context of crowley/aziraphale and ted/rebecca. i feel like in both cases, i was really paying attention to the details and nuances and seeming symbolism around the relationship for years. and in season two of good omens, the text itself seemed to absolutely completely vibe with everything we'd noticed as a fandom about season one, and make a logical progression from there that was really in line with what felt true about the pairing in s1. like, you could really tell the show was also extremely aware of all the small moments that the fandom had picked up on. whereas in season three of ted lasso, obviously, the show wound up just not seeming very interested at all in all the stuff i'd thought was an argument being made for why ted and rebecca belonged together. (in earlier seasons, but also even within season three!!! green matchbook what????) i pick out these two examples because, well, they just happened on my tv in front of my face recently, and because i think both had a lot of symbolism and a lot of underlying 'see, THIS is why they're meant to be together!' details. but the payoff could not have been more different!
it's just so weird how sometimes it goes exactly like you expected, like it's proven that you were in fact vibing exactly right with the text, and other times it's just like, "nope, mate, YOU'RE WRONG."

For some reason I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Catradora since I woke up this morning. Specifically, thinking about Catra and non-linear healing and how the show showed a whole generation of kids that even if you’ve had a really bad response to trauma that you still deserve the chance to heal and be loved and forgiven by those around you if you put the work into it and I just think it’s neat.

i don't think this is a controversial ranking per se but now that i have seen every child's play movie i need to rank them because what else is the reason for watching a movie franchise. anyways my order from lowest to highest would be 3 < cult < seed < curse < 1 < bride < 2 🤭

I will never forgive the LMK fandom for mischaracterizing Wukong to hell and back.
First it was this idea he was stupid and only knew how to hit things hard when in reality Wukong in supposed to be extremely clever and usually only goes and punches things because it's the quickest and straight forward answer to a problem. if there are better ways to do something he does it that way instead. (literally in jttw he is representative of the MIND. HE IS SMART.)
And then it was the demonization (sometimes in favor of making other characters look better). Wukong would make a mistake and he'd be considered the WORST possible person "HOW DARE HE MESS UP"? But when, say, Macaque went and PURPOSEFULLY TRAUMATIZED MK. He was let off the hook because "oh Wukong was mean to him in the past! he's traumatized he didn't really mean it 🥺" (talk about hypocritical double standard)
Anyways I'm putting Wukong up on the highest shelf. You guys can play with him when you learn to behave.

i know a lot of people are not liking this season, but it’s been fun! I like the twin thing. I’m playing a nice route so mc and her twin really get along. idk maybe i’m only remembering how much i hated last season, and i’m just glad there’s some fun at least.

My mom texted me on her way to work this morning asking if I could make dinner tonight. Sure, I say, but I'm not making flavorless food. She asks what I meant, and I say I refuse to cook like she does, where everything is burnt and the most spice any dish gets is a pinch of ground peppercorn. So now I'm officially off dinner duty (thankfully!) because she can't stand anything with flavor. God forbid the turkey have been cooked with any spices. Chives in mashed potatoes? Unheard of. Spice blend in the roast vegetables? Impossible!
