All art is political. 

Inherently. 

Art is a reflection of one’s personal beliefs, influenced by culture. 

Culture itself is political as it exists within the confines of current societies, many of which exist in nation-states. 

Furthermore, the idea of nation-states is grounded in unity and establishing a national identity by distinguishing against an Other. 

So art is political. 

It cannot exist in a vacuum from its’ maker. 

That maker cannot exist without culture. 

Additionally, all art is made in rapidly changing cultural climates. 

What once made sense and was perfectly reasonable becomes a dated reference no one remembers the origins of. 

A piece of art will always reflect the climate it was made in.
