Let’s read HP together: Book 1 Chapter 2

You can really get a sense of what all Harry has to put up with while living with the Dursleys in this chapter. Especially how bratty Dudley acts during his birthday.

Line I enjoyed: “Harry supposed that the wind must have caught him in mid-jump.”

I liked this line because it really exemplified Harry’s childhood innocence and imagination at this point of his life. It’ll be interesting to see the juxtaposition of this compared to his views of life in later books.

as a person who has the craziest arachnophobia i feel like ron’s encounter with aragog was one of the most traumatic things that’s ever happened to him and now i see his nightmares about spiders a completely understandable after effect. i mean he isn’t as terrified of them as some people (like me) but i am amazed by how brave he was. i would have died out of fear i think
