- my character is an oc named Cassiopeia Wraithwood. she is 17 years old going into her 7th year at Hogwarts, the year after the Second Wizarding War has ended.

- i have roleplaying experience going back quite a few years as well as creative writing so i would consider my style advlit. but no matter the length i always work to give you something to work off of. all i ask is the same in return

- really and truly looking for someone to portray an accurate Draco Malfoy (returning to repeat 7th year since the year didn’t finish) but will use this character with any HPU character

THE BOY WHO LIVED

Four champions had entered into the final task of the Triwizard Tournament but only two had reached the cup, one quicker than the other. Once Harry Potter’s hand touched the cup, he vanished, leaving Cedric Diggory alone at the maze’s center. In an instant, fate had changed. Seventeen minutes after that, history had been marked with a single thud.

There, lying at the center of the cleared-out arena was The Boy Who Lived. Dead.

The crowd had watched on in shock; in ways, they still do. Months may have passed, a new year at Hogwarts has begun, but it doesn’t quite feel the same. Beyond the ever-present feeling of unease set in the pit of many a students' stomach, certain gaps just feel larger. Whether a false sense of hope or a need for self-suffering, eyes drift continuously towards the spots where Potter once was: tucked between his two best friends, soaring above the quidditch pitch in pursuit of a snitch, the empty bed in their dormitory. A glimpse of glasses, a spot of dark unruly hair… but no Chosen One. Not anymore.

Unless that is, you consider another boy fitting of the prophecy hidden away in the Department of Mysteries. A boy that might just be sitting next to that vacant spot at the table.

TLDR:  fideliushqs is an aged up, appless, modern golden trio rp set in an alternate universe where harry potter did not survive at the end of the triwizard tournament. we start where the fifth book would have began, with a new school year and voldemort gaining power in the shadows. as the wizarding world grieves the loss of their boy who lived, they may be overlooking their true chosen one.

On the topic of HP (since we can’t seem to be rid of it) and book-to-fic fandoms - I dipped a toe into the Marauders tag on ao3 out of nostalgic curiosity recently, and I was shocked to see the enormity of the fanwork from just the past 2-3 years. The marauders fandom, and Wolfstar in particular, are something I associate pretty exclusively with older fans and the early 2000s in particular; Old Guard LJ-types, not young’uns (which I think so many have to be, based on writing quality/content). Sure, there was a bit of a resurgence with the HPRP community here on Tumblr a few years ago, but even then, the majority of creators involved were in their mid to late twenties at the time.

It’s certainly made me think more about whether keeping any parts of HP alive contributes to perpetuating JKR’s legacy, even if it’s explicitly queer-as-folk content; but then again, given the sheer scope of casual fans who aren’t involved with fandom at all who continue to enjoy HP as part of the cultural zeitgeist, I’m just not convinced there’s as big a correlation there as online-centric types think. What it’s really done, at least on this platform, is provide a way to slap a transphobic label on fans who probably don’t deserve it.

There was a huge Sirius/Remus community back in the day. Think things like that damned Shoebox.

And there is also a new Wolfstar community now that's kind of its own thing full of new people and new classics and tropes and trends. (Also Regulus fans. Whut???)

I do kind of think people should move on and spend that energy elsewhere, but I'm not the boss of them. HP will continue to be a juggernaut cultural force regardless of what's happening on tumblr.

hi friends!

i just wanted to come on here and say that i am no longer active on this account. due to everything that's transpired in the hp community; fan base; and world, i feel that i can no longer come back to this account without feeling a sense of dread and hypocrisy. i will be keeping this account as an archive of my pieces and to connect with those i still talk to from this account, however, i will not be producing anymore content (imagines, headcanons, reblogs, posts, etc.). it sucks. it really does. but, i'm happy with this decision.

thank you all for the literal YEARS of support. your imagine and headcanon requests were honestly some of my favorite things, and the people i met through the hprp community were (and still are) some of the best people i've had the chance to meet. i really appreciate everyone making me feel welcome and safe in this community.

hprp is harry potter roleplay!! so basically i used to dress up as harry potter characters and recreate text threads and do in character q&as 😅

(these were my lily, teddy and fleur)

it was a really lovely and fun community, and i’ve formed life long friendships through it, but i think it fizzled out when tiktok started to get big. i mostly left because i didn’t want to interact with harry potter anymore because fuck jk rowling :)

Dear HPRP Community,

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted. I’m sure most of you have seen @sirussly​‘s post by now, but I really want to say a few words myself. 

First, I want to thank everyone who has followed, supported, encouraged and shared this experience with me. When I started the HPRP community, I just wanted to goof around in my room playing dress-up. I honestly never in a million years thought it would grow to become something that I care so much about.

The past four years have been some of the most incredible and fulfilling years of my life. I’ve made life-long friends, I’ve produced content that helped me express my love for art and creativity and grow as a person, and I’ve had the chance to share it with people who care for me personally and support me every step of the way. 

I don’t know how to thank you all for helping me become who I am now and providing me with a chance to do what I love for a living. I’m endlessly in shock over how lucky I am to be able to do this, and I’m so, so grateful. 

These last couple of years I’ve fallen in love, made wonderful, honest friends, sought out help for my mental health, produced four original series, turned 30 (wtf???), trudged through the hell-scape that is 2020, and so much more. It’s been eventful, to say the least, and I’ve grown a lot as a person. I think that’s why it’s time to say that I’m moving on, at least for now. 

This blog will always be one of the best choices I’ve ever made, and it will be here for those who want to enjoy and revisit the stories my dear friends and I have created. I’m sure Jess and I will pop in every now and then to say hi, but I think it’s important to clarify why I won’t be around much anymore.

I know I can always come back, but making a post like this on a blog that has been such a central part of my life for so long definitely makes me a lot-a-bit emotional, so I hope you don’t mind if I come off a wee-bit dramatic (guess it fits with the brand, huh?). ;)

I just want to say thank you for all you guys have done for me. I’ve loved this experience through the highs and lows, and I hope to see you guys around as I continue this journey elsewhere.
