TW: Discussion of abortion and unwanted babies.

Man, sometimes it just completely blindsides me how US-centric media just operates like abortions don't exist.

I mean I've watched three tv series lately, Wynonna Earp and How to Get Away with Murder where pregnancy has been a larger or lesser point of drama and abortion just... Isn't even considered.

Like there's a case in HTGAWM where a client is concerned for the life a baby born of rape will have if their mother goes to jail and like... the mother, the client, they don't actually want the baby! Like... Abortion exists but these otherwise relatively progressive shows (forgetting, or trying to forget HTGA's blantant bi-erasure for a sweet second) just refuse to let their characters consider it as an option for parents who clearly don't want to have children.

It's just mad to me. Absolutely maddening.
