every minute of my life i can remember has been plagued by httyd. the music specifically has been in my head. all year. and i mean ALL. year. the past 2 months ive had Dragon Training playing in the background of my life. before that it was the song that played after riders of berk. before thst it was see you tomirrow. I am losing my mind. I think im starting tonaccept it but its like. becoming imbeded in my brain i just tune it out. Whwn i listen to other music I get confused and start hearing Toothless' motif and its not there when I play it back. im hearing it as i type this. When i actually listen to the music I can hear the voice lines. once in maths I watched httyd in my head so now i dont know how to do Nth terms. i hardly even notice it anymore. 1 thing abt me is i shouldve been diagnosed years ago

The HTTYD soundtrack (through the whole series tbh) is just so good. So. Good. Whenever I’m doing something hard or stressful or smth (like I did this all the time when I took tests and stuff during the pandemic) I’ll put my headphones on on both ears and turn on the HTTYD ost really loud and do my thing. (I can also hear most (?) of the lines when I’m just listening to it (and basically quote the movie line for line when I’m watching it lol)

Hiccup x Astrid(How to Train Your Dragon/HTTYD)

You don't know how much I love this couple. I was always happy to see this couple from HTTYD 1 to 3, and in the TV show series. In HTTYD 3, they are married and have children. They look great together. I want to draw their fan art someday. (I'm practicing.)

2. D'jok & Tia(Galactik football)

Yes, I know. Tia's love is Rocket.

I like D'jok and Tia's brother-sister relationship. These two people depend on each other. Obviously, these are my favorite characters in Galactik football. The chemistry between these two is crazy.

3. Zuko & Katara(Avatar: The Last Airbender, ATLA)

I'm careful about this couple, because Katara eventually married 'Aang' in the formula. And Zuko married mai. But the tense relationship between the two in the show was interesting.

( I'm supporting any coupling.) It's interesting how Katara forgives zuko, and how zuko makes mistakes and repents. Eventually, get to the fire episode. Katara and zuko became colleagues. At the end, the scene where zuko threw himself for katara to prevent danger is one of the best scenes.

It's a song I've been listening to over and over again every day these days. I haven't watched this movie, but I liked the OST, so I put it on my playlist.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

I didn't watch a movie this year. The last movie I saw in the movie theater last year was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was my favorite series in the Marvel series, and I don't want to think it's over. The members had great chemistry. I know that even if they went different paths, they would get together whenever there was a space crisis.

Recently, I am reading a novel called The Apothecary Diaries. I liked this book even before it became famous for its animation. Recently, 13 books came out and I am reading it. (The animation is on Netflix exclusively.)

Both animations are on Netflix. I was happy that my favorite works would be animated in 2023 and 2024.

Currently drinking:

I drink americano at work to get rid of my drowsiness. Even if it's cold in the winter, I always drink iced coffee. Coldness and caffeine are the best for driving away sleepiness.

Currently craving:

When I was in college, I couldn't afford to buy animation Merchandise because I was busy working part-time. But now that I start making money, I have some leeway in my life.

I know that I enjoy minor genres (minor fandom).

There are only a few Merchandise that are officially sold.

So I thought, 'If you don't have any, let me make one.' I made a necklace with the names of my favorite characters engraved on it.

I put commission to get the illustration I wanted. (I didn't upload.)

Of course, I draw fan art, but I'm not good at drawing.

Recently, I've been looking for photo cards and doll making.

I want more Merchandise.

I was browsing Tumblr a couple days ago when I was struck with this intense, forest fire of inspiration. I don't remember the exact post, but suddenly it was like "I NEED TO MAKE THIS ART RIGHT NOW", and that burning inspiration hasn't ceased following it's creation.

I really, really want to gush over my favorite, most influential dragons of my life, so be prepared for a long summary/explanation!

Everlasting Dragon, Dark Souls: "Rumour it may be, but I have heard of a surviving ancient dragon who resides in this land. A coterie of Undead serves the dragon, as they train to become dragons themselves. Sounds unlikely, but you never know, do you?"

Light Fury, HTTYD THW: My favorite species in HTTYD! A welcome change to the classical "big, scaly monster" category that 90% of dragons fall into. We need more sparkly, feminine dragon species IMO. I know a huge chunk of the fandom hates this species because of it's feminine traits, and the individual that represents the species is female (females aren't supposed to have sparkles, such a horrible design REEEEEEEEEE), but I feel like everyone forgets that the ENTIRE species is feminine and sparkly, not just the Nameless Light Fury. There are male Light Furies with these traits, which everyone conveniently forgets, and assumes the entire species is all female or something?

I've seen plenty of really good redesigns, but it makes me feel bad that so many people hate the species enough to change everything about them. They make the species more masculine, more bulky, more "big, scaly monster". They make the species look more like Night Furies, which makes me feel kinda weird. But regardless, I will always prefer the canon design over any redesign.

Blue, Wings of Fire: My first exposure to WoF was the Graphic Novel of The Dark Secret. I was like, "Woah! Dragons as the main POV characters! That's so cool! I've been waiting for this my whole life!" So, I eventually bought all five Graphic Novels, and checked out The Lost Continent from my local library, and I've been hooked ever since. I currently own the entire 3rd arc, the Winglets, and Darkstalker. I know the fandom probably hates the scavengers in the last book, but as long as dragons continue the be the main POV characters, I couldn't care less how involved they are. Plus, as long as you have two intelligent species in room together, they're eventually going to figure out how to communicate (it's inevitable).

SilkWings are my favorite WoF species. Flamesilk (or just spinning silk and weaving it into tapestries) is an awesome ability, and a very unique feature for a dragon species. I have this strange, prominent love for four winged dragons in general, but I do prefer SilkWings over HiveWings. The ability the cocoon oneself and emerge five days later with wings is a concept that.... interests me greatly. I wish I could grow wings too.

Red Dragon, OG Demon's Souls: I have very fond memories of watching my brother run through Boletaria 1-2, running from the red dragon on those bridges to get to the Tower Knight boss fight. Their roar is unforgettable, and it's makes me happy to hear it. I don't mind the Remake, but I very much prefer the OG Demon's Souls. It has a very wonderful, janky old game feel (DS2 also feels this way to me), and the OST can't be topped. Plus, it has the sexiest armor in any video game, the Fluted Knight Set.

Ryukotsusei, Inuyasha: The first time seeing an eastern dragon was at my cousin's place. She had a few seasons of Inuyasha, and a Sailor Moon movie (the one with the winged unicorn). Probably not the most appropriate thing for a little kid to be watching (I remember Kagome getting kidnapped by a demon and waking up naked in a bathtub), but for my first anime experience I had alot of fun. Definitely had a crush on Koga. I remember drawing a circle in my hand and pretending to suck up demons at school.

The One That Got Away: I read this dragon book in elementary school, and I've never been able to find it again. I've only read it once, and when I went back for it, I never found it again. It has been bothering me for YEARS that I've never been able to find this wonderful book again. So, if anyone has any idea what book I'm taking about, please, PLEASE, send me a message or send an ask with the title! Here's what I remember.

A dragon (maybe red) swooping down grabbing a sheep, with veins seen in its wings, a farmer watches as his sheep is taken away. A dragon hunting a herd of deer. A dragon in a cave, with words like "this dragon's wings are too tight/big for this cave, it'll have to find a new cave soon".

On the bottom are things that might represent or be connected with my godkin identity. I could explain each one, but I'm very tired, and I don't want to do that.

2 - Favorite Character

Shooot! There are SO many precious characters out there, and so many reasons to love one x3 I think I gotta take the wimpy way out and just divvy up some awards!

Joey Tribbiani always zips right to mind when I think of TV characters. Little me was always so touched by the prospect of an adult still being a kid at heart and being a doofus—it was a genuine comfort when I worried about growing up too fast! Toothless from HTTYD will always be the monarch of animal companions, and proudly owns 2/3 of merch in my room <3 Sephiroth for organizing the Louisiana Purchase on my perspective on villains, rocking long hair, and for being 45% evil, 54% brutally sympathetic, and 1% hot gas. It’s been a bit since I rewatched the show, but I also was a Leatherhead worshiper from TMNT and adored his Ferdinand-the-Bullness when it came to his gentle, juxtapositioning personality <3 Gotta include Brock from the Pokémon anime too—

*Plankton on his knees* ALRIGHT I GET IT!!!! …Ok. Ok! Moving on!

5 - Favorite Film OST

2. Music! Yes!! The thing that can truly make or break a movie <3 <3 There are two OSTs that share the golden medal to me: How To Train Your Dragon and Halloween 2018! The sheer, exhilarating, raw POWER of the music when Hiccup is soaring through the sky for the first time <3 <3 It is chilling, the entire score accentuating the sense of freedom, divergence, risk and trust that makes the movie as beautiful as it is to me <3 Ahhh! Then we got Halloween, and OML did John Carpenter hit that score out of the park. The Shape. The SHAPE. He is coming. He’s always there, always walking faster than you can run. The revamped version of the classic Michael Myers theme is just… GAH. It just never slows down, and that increasing, heart-racing energy is honestly so much more terrifying to me than something objectively more slow/ominous.

(If we’re talking lyrical songs/musicals tho, then I’ll spring for Beauty & the Beast.)

8. Unfortunately, uh, I lost my avid reading habits a long time ago xD (not proud of it- but oops.) Most books I read are assigned for English classes, so I’ll gladly tackle favorite films!

I hate to be repetitive but I don’t think there’s a movie that trumps HTTYD 2 up here <3 <3 It is a precious, precious ride and I will cherish it forever! Stoick’s sacrifice coming from the first movie is just… ;-; I reiterate my GAHs. This is also the epitome of Hiccup & Toothless’s bond, shown most when Hiccup’s able to reach through to Toothless through the alpha’s control <3 ;-; I MELT. I DO. I LOVE THESE GUYS SO MUCH…! *screams into car trunk.* A close follow up is Elf—because my lord, Christmas time or NOT, this movie turns frowns upside down. Buddy is everyone’s buddy, ok?? I want more Buddys in the world (warning: this movie may also make you crave spaghetti drenched in syrup). Finally I’ll tag Orphan as the caboose, bc psychotic child thing is one of the best horror rides I’ve been on. This movie is 100% best watched blind, so I wanna be as vague as possible! All I’ll say is that Esther is a LEGEND and I love her xD)

That one is like a punch to the gut every time haha

Willow I LOVE you for asking this. Thank you for giving me permission to talk about this because holy shit.

S tier:

She-Ra. My god is that soundtrack just absolutely gorgeous. I could rant about how incredible it is just in terms of things like leitmotifs and thematic usage for hours but it's also just incredible to listen to in the first place.

How to Train your Dragon. Yeah it's probably not a surprise since everyone knows how good the soundtrack is, but the hype is well deserved.

Shrek, actually! There are some really beautiful pieces in the score (which was co-composed by the same person who did HTTYD) and people mostly just focus on the pop songs in the movie or the memes. Listen to Fairytale and feel emotions right now.

Doctor Who: Specifically the stuff done by Murray Gold. That man never failed to compose incredible music for the show and the fact that he left was a large part of why I struggled to keep watching starting at series 11.

A tier:

Sonic 06: That soundtrack is so pretty and is by far the best thing to come out of that game. Eggman's theme that was introduced in 06 was so recognizable and iconic that it was reused for every game following 06 (except Forces) and the fact that an instrumental version of All Hail Shadow was used as Shadow's theme was an incredible decision.

Minecraft: I'll be honest the only reason why this isn't getting an S is because I've just listened to it so many times. Aria Math is underrated btw.

Deltarune: Spamton's theme goes hard. I love basically every part of the soundtrack, and My Castle Town is such a fun tune that I just wanna stay in that part of the game to listen to it more.

Fullmetal Alchemist: (both versions) beautiful score to go with a beautiful anime. Not much else to say about it except Brothers (from the 03 version) being sung in Russian is so cool and unique.

Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2: Wow Marvel actually did something right for once! The fact that the themes and leitmotifs established in the first film were carried over and expanded upon for the second movie was such a treat.

B tier:

TMNT 2012: The score isn't officially released which upsets me. Some of the reused stuff can get repetitive, but there's also a lot of things that I wish I had an official version to listen to. Like the scene in season 3 when they're going back to NYC.

Stray: I recently played it and the music is so fucking cool. I think that the way it set the tone and atmosphere of the world was done incredibly well. Good music to write to.

Undertale: Not as good as Deltarune, which is to be expected since it came out first, but still iconic as always. I don't find myself listening to it frequently though.

The Adventure Zone: Started off a bit rough when the music was first introduced, but as Griffin became more confident and skilled in his composing abilities the music started going hard. Really started adding to the emotional beats of the story. Also the Amnesty theme is so good. I haven't listened to the podcast further than the end of Amnesty so I can't say anything about the more recent stuff though.

C tier:

Ironman 1 and 3: Both are decent and I listen to them sometimes, but not my favorites. I feel like if the themes established in the first movie had been used in subsequent films, for example, it would have made things a lot better.

Moon Knight: I think that the score is cool but can sometimes be repetitive. There are some moments that are really cool though.

D tier:

Sonic X English dub: enough said.
