My current theory re The Nine Realms is that maybe after the THW epilogue, Hiccup was like, yeah, I’m not gonna spend the rest of my life away from this gorgeous dragon, and they just kinda figured something out. 

And then went with the book ending of yeah, the dragons leaving after Hiccup dies, or whatever it was.

Redesign of the character Alice from my old "The Rise of Darkas" AU story

"The Rise of Darkas" is one of the oldest and one of the craziest ideas of mine in the HTTYD fandom:D

My thoughts about this began more than 5 years ago. This is basically the idea for which I came up with the whole hulf-human Dragons thing!

The first versions of the plot were absolutely illogical and not thought out... But nowadays I continue to rewrite and add to this story, just for myself so far.. And this Deathgripper girl is quite important to the plot as in the old version of the story, as in the new ones, so, I wanted to work on her design a little better))

(However this is one of the few old designs of mine that I still like so there aren't that many differences))

Old design~

Alice is actually quite a tragic character..

In the past, she was one of Grimmel's top Deathgrippers. He raised and trained her from birth and Alice saw him as her master and practically a father, adored him with all her heart and never considered the possibility that he might be wrong, so of all his dragons she was one of the most loyal and obedient.

But one single day plunged Alice into complete shock when an event occurred that forces her only beloved human, master and "parent" to commit suicide, killing himself with her poison, just in front of her eyes..

(actions of this version of the story take place 2 years before HTTYD3, plot of which will never happen)

A LOT happened in her life later...

She saw herself in a half-human form for the first time.

She found herself a new master.

For the first time started thinking about her life.

Experienced real “parental love”, which, as she previously thought, Grimmel and her new master showed her.

And all this made her understand that perhaps both he and Grimmel weren’t as good and right as she thought..

This developed into terrible psychological trauma and a HUGE feeling of guilt for how much she did on their orders, being sure that they were right.

The end of her story isn't quite written yet...

But spoiler: thanks to her own efforts and the various interactions of the creatures around, her ending will be relatively happy, even if it may not possible to be completely like that :,)

crossovers so silly!!

the below is literally just me pointing out how all my silly little shows with all my silly little people are in the same universe, im putting it below a keep reading thing because i understand the utter pain of having to scroll through all that

httyd, toa, toh, rotg, gravity falls, and vox machina, etc, theyre all in the same universe. mort theory theorizer level shit but like!!??!?!?!

stuff

-dragons and trolls and gnomes

-douxie mentions orcs, elves, dwarves, etc

-gravity falls and the owl house are already connected canonically so

-silly bards with their silly instruments they hit people over their silly heads with

-i dont watch the podcasts for vox because of spoilers, but there is a fire realm and a whole lot of dark magic, so shadow realm??

-somebody confirmed httyd and toa were connected, i think it was aaron but it was a while ago

-either way, you can see 1. stoick's helmet in the museum 2. astrid's axe when toby is picking out warhammer and 3. a yaknog mug

-also httyd is canon because the trolls treat maces and talons like dnd while strickler implies its treated more like chess (like how it is!!)

-genuinely sorry for people who dont like toa or httyd as much but theyre my hyperfixes and the only things i can focus on real!!

-with all the bullshit going on in the states for these kids, i wouldn't be surprised if the silly guardians were going around too

-douxie is slightly older than bunnymund because bunny looks like the actual number 8 dot ask me why or how it just Is.

-silly big friend who has killed and will kill again if necessary

-luz meeting toothiana and being terrified that shes gonna ask for her skin or smth

-vee learning about changelings

-douxie and vax fistbumping (i dont know where or why, but i love them both so im adding it.) (its probably the fatherlessness, same tbh)

-valka meeting archie (whos all silent at the moment) and being like 'wow, he truly does look to be part nightfury, he has a very clean coat for a dragon as well' stuff like that, and archie (who sounds like viggo mind you) says 'why thank you.'

-Hiccup desperately trying to study how archie and charlie just??? are??? mans not exactly used to his ride talking back its like siri

-httyd is 1000s, there is no nine realms in ba sing se.

-the next person i see say 'douxie should be 800 not 900' im going to the!!!!

theory bs

-hiccup and snotlout are cousins (httyd3 doesnt exist i refuse to believe in a timeline that has bearded hiccup)

-luz and jim are cousins (barb and cami both work in medicine and have glasses, also they both beat shit up so)

-hiccup is barbs great great great great something granddaughter, making him related to jim (him, hiccup, and snotlout keep getting hit by lightning its gotta be some genetic bullshit I swear)

-dragons add onto your lifespan, like how cats ease stress

-(thats my fix-it for making the riders immortal, ty ty)

-the stronger the bond, the longer the life

-stoick would have been, for example, 1200 at least if he had lived

-hiccups up in the 2000s for that

-theres constant joking that 'oh at least my grandpa didnt colonize dragons' when talking to jim, hiccup feels awful for it, archie repeatedly assures that its like wolves and werewolves / apes and humans

-the glowing rock in the hidden world is a heartstone

-all of these shows are connected, just over different time periods and places.

-(megamind and monsters vs aliens could also be added in here, given Blue Alien With Forehead Shit)

At first I wanted to invest more time into this piece and color it properly. I saved a WIP of it, but forgot to save the original file itself, and yaaayyyyy...then my laptop crashed :P But I luckily still had the lineart from the WIP, even it is was on the same layer as the white background. I didn’t want to upload pure lineart, so I tried to make the coloring work by using different effects ^^

Leaving Berk for New Berk

I’ve been chewing on this ever since I heard Astrid protest about leaving their home of seven generations.  Now, tactically, I think it was the wrong move--they had a defensive position there, but that’s Hiccup’s reflex, I’ve noticed: He runs away when confronted, and typically only fights back when cornered.  So it’s definitely in character for him.  

But he managed to convince several hundred stubborn Vikings who wouldn’t be driven off by dragon raids for seven generations to just up and leave.  And, heck, that’s in the opening monologue for HTTYD 1.  

“Most people would leave.  No us.  We’re Vikings.  We have... stubbornness issues.”

But for the sake of their dragons, they left.  All of them.  Left their home of seven generations--seven generations that had been at war with dragons.  And now they’re at peace with them.  And while New Berk wasn’t the Human-Dragon utopia it was originally intended to be (or even the waypoint Hiccup intended), New Berk was something else:

A place where those generations of history was left behind.  Where thousands of deaths on both sides were left behind, and the new start had a unifying vision: 

Protecting the dragons.

Perhaps not in the way that Hiccup intended, but instead as the gateway and gatekeepers to the Hidden World.  

The new generations born there--the first of whom we see--are raised in that tradition, instead of being surrounded with the detritus of generations of war and raids (like the kill ring).  

It’s symbolically a fresh start with a fresh mandate in the spot to fulfill that mandate.  

(I still think they made a mistake in leaving, but that’s me and thinking that the fleet of dragon trappers could be handled with a house-sized boulder or six dropped from 1000+ feet in the air)
