Heaven Has A Road - Original Characters
While the story is wholly about Xiao Xingchen, Xue Yang and Song Lan, and kept as close to canon-compliant as possible after the original divergence setting everything in motion, the disaster trio do occasionally run into a number of npcs along the way.
Here is a neat little compilation of the named extras in Heaven Has A Road, in case the text refers back to a name you’ve forgotten, or you want to read an extra tidbit or two about all the people SXX have happened to!
Ai Shenxu – the fangzhang (abbot) of the Daoist temple Yanxia Guan. A wise and mischievous old daoshi who manages to manipulate Xue Yang into meditation and spiritual growth, much to the latter's chagrin. He tells Xiao Xingchen a story of a young troublemaker who came to the temple to take advantage of the kindness of the daoshi there, but who got lulled into that peaceful life, and is still there all these years later to turn other young troublemakers' heads in the right direction.
A-Lei – a young disciple of the doctor-wives in Tanzhou.
Gao Lin – a girl of Muaishan, whose father was driven insane by the mist spirits. She tells the daoshi her story, to try to help Xiao Xingchen figure out what was done to him while he was spirited away.
Madam Hu – the old woman in charge of the inn of Aijian in Muaishan. She's vastly superstitious and terrified of all things to do with gentry, cultivators and the unnatural... But she does grow to care a lot about the strange travelers under her roof, despite her fears.
Old Hu – the innkeeper of Aijian in Muaishan. Xue Yang and Song Lan first met him when searching for Xiao Xingchen, and he set them on their way to find the spirits' lair. He and his wife later welcomed the traveling trio to stay at their inn to recuperate after fighting and vanquishing the mist spirits.
Old Luo – an old daoshi at Baixue, remembered by Tian Hao and Song Lan with a mix of fondness and trepidation. A rather fearsome teacher who took pleasure in punishing any miss-stepping pupils with the chore of sweeping the courtyard before dawn. He's mentioned by the Yanxia daoshi as a master of acupuncture techniques. In Muaishan, Song Lan uses spiritual pressure point techniques to weave Xue Yang's meridians back together, saying Xue Yang killed the man who once taught them to him.
Qian Feng – jianyuan of the Daoist temple Yanxia Guan. He’s the temple’s second in command, responsible for Night Hunts and handling the everyday affairs of the temple and the daoshi living there. Tian Hao says he's a strong cultivator – especially when it comes to the strength of fingers holding onto coin...
Tian Hao – a daoshi of Yanxia Guan. He studied as a guest cultivator at Baixue Ge for a year in his youth, and is one of the few besides Song Lan who personally remembers the people there. He calls Song Lan his shidi and gives him advice and support, and they made a promise to stay in touch through correspondence.
Wang Haifeng – a young cultivator who used demonic cultivation to raise corpses for him and his friends to fight to gain heroic reputation. Xue Yang mentally dubbed him ”unfortunate front teeth”. He showed quite great interest in Xue Yang's skills and knowledge, though he was very cowed by the telling-off they all received by Song Lan once he learned the truth. He is one of the last survivors of the Yingchuan Wang clan, which rose to prominence under the Wen thanks to Wang Lingjiao's involvement with Wen Chao.
Wang Meili – one of the elderly doctors in Tanzhou, who was born to the Yingchaun Wang clan but left to study medicine with the Dafan Wen. There she met her life partner, Wu Lian, and the two of them eventually set out as wandering cultivators to offer their gifts of healing to those in need, before finally settling down in Tanzou. She has a stern and brusque demeanour, but is a highly skilled doctor and a very loving wife.
Wang Rouqing - the ghostly widow of Wangzhuang, and Wang Haifeng’s mother. She stopped talking after the death of her husband and the massacre of her in-laws during Sunshot, and only found peace after Xue Yang helped confirm her husband’s spirit had truly moved on.
Wu Lian – one of the elderly doctors in Tanzhou. She was once a guest-disciple with the Dafan Wen, where she first met her companion Wang Meili. Together they set out as wandering cultivators upon finishing their training, to offer healing and care to those needing, and finally settled down in Tanzhou. Mild-mannered and sweet, she likes telling stories and making her stern wife smile.
Zhao Yicheng – one of the young cultivators who fought the undead at the old plague graveyard. Designated ”short boy” by Xue Yang, he was the leader of the gang, and the brains behind his and his friend Wang Haifeng's plan to use demonic cultivation to raise monsters for them to fight in order to gain glory and a good reputation. He and his cousin Zhao Yijun are from the Zhao clan, which Wen Zhuliu once belonged to before getting adopted into the Wen family.
Zhao Yijun – one of the young cultivators who fought the undead at the plague graveyard. Xue Yang called him ”the taller Zhao” or ”compass boy.” Happily unaware of his cousin's and friend's plan to raise the dead, he was trying to track fierce corpses using one of the older models of spirit compass - which strangely started malfunctioning once Song Lan joined the Night Hunt... He and his cousin Zhao Yicheng are from the Zhao clan, which Wen Zhuliu once belonged to before getting adopted into the Wen family.

They are probably unfamiliar to most of our recent followers, but we have featured them twice: five years ago HERE, and 10 years ago OVER HERE. They sing in Mandarin and in the local Min dialect - the 2 guys that started the band are from Haifeng in Guangdong Province (the band is based in Guangzhou).

Not sure if this was the performance in question, but the hosts have surprised looks on their faces as the singing begins:

In the spring of 1931, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China established red transportation stations in Shanghai, Guangdong Dapu, Harbin and other cities. A Review on Seismic Behaviour of Zipper Braced Frames- Juniper Publishers

Abstract
For increasing performance of frame structure varioustypes of braces are used in frame structure for seismic design. i.e. X-braced, inverted V braced, ZX braced, and Zipper braced frame. Inverted-V-braced frames are one type of ordinary concentrically braced frame. The behaviour of this system is controlled by the buckling of the first story braces in compression, resulting in localization of failure and loss of lateral resistance. To overcome this problem of V-bracing and reduce the unbalance force,for improving seismic behavioura vertical structural member added at the beam mid span from the second stories above, called zipper strut. And this new brace called zipper brace. On zipper brace frame more research has been done by researchers in steel by using different software’s. This paper represents the review on research conducted on zipper braced frame.

Introduction
The design of earthquake resistant buildings has progressed in recent years. The building has two types frame structure and load bearing structure, in that frame structure is commonly used. Frame structures are the structure which has been made by assembling beam, column and slab at proper position as per requirement to resist the lateral loads and gravity load. Under lateral earthquake loads, simple concrete frames undergo large lateral displacements that may damage structural and non-structural members. Load bearing and frame structures are our traditional structures which we are using sincea years ofconstruction starts for multi storey RCC structures. Most of our building failure studies concluded thatbuildings fail due to formation of diagonal cracks. But using diagonal structural members in frames can increases the capacity of structures against failure. One of the practical ways to prevent these frames undergoing large lateral displacements is to use diagonal members, called brace. A frame in which bracing are used called braced frames. These members increase lateral stiffness of the frame and enhance the capacity of the energy dissipation by plastic deformations. There are various types of braced frame used in steel namely Chevron braced frame, Concentrically Braced Frames (CBF), suspended zipper braced frames, V-brace frame, X- braced frames, XZ- braced frame etc[1]. Adding steel braces enhance greatly the strength capacity of the buildings on the dynamic characteristic of the building the zipper bracing systems are found the most efficient. For seismic analysis of structures various software, methods were applied in field of structural analysis such as time history analysis, response spectra method, push over analysis. Prakriti Chandrakar et al. [2] time history analysis is a more precise in description of the structure under dynamic load and it can give a more precise approximation of the interior stresses and also the time and position of the cracks emerging in the structure.
Previous studies on zipper frame:
Kadid A et al. [1] investigated the seismic behaviour of RC buildings strengthened with different types of steel braces, X-braced, inverted V braced, ZX braced, and Zipper braced. NaeimeS [3] proposes the behaviour of zipper brace frame by using pushover condition. Chuang-sheng Yang [4] proposes a refined design methodology for zipper braced frames with partial-height zipper mechanisms. Pourbaba M et al. [5]investigated the behaviour of Zipper Braced Frame (ZBF) and compared with Concentrically Braced Frame. Haifeng Yu et al. [6] proposed that zipper columns are more reasonable design method. Nouri and Imani Kalesar[7]found out that employing suspended zipper braced frame for rehabilitation and strengtheningof existing structure was economical and practical.Rahimi R et al. [8] proposes through numerical simulations for lateral capacity and seismic behavior zipper braced frames and suspended zipper braced frames.LuciyaTrica et al. [9] studied on to apply suitable static method for zipper column design through nonlinear time history analysis. And they investigated the inelastic behaviour of zipper braced frame in high rise building in high risk seismic zone (victoriya, BC) under crustal.RazviM [10]proposed that cable with appropriate pre-stress as a zipper element.
Zipper braced frame
Engineers found Chevron braced frames difficult to design, since they are not able to distribute unbalanced large forces because of buckling at bracing system. In order to achieve the advantages like the effectiveness of stiffness and resistance to limit the displacement ratio and also ensure the behaviour of the stability of the structure, concentrically zipper-braced frame is shaped. ZBF theory was first proposed in 1988 by Khatib. This system is similar to Chevron system, but only just one additional element, which was a vertical structural member, connected at the top and down to the beams at the mid-span point called strut. This vertical strut named as zipper, and a frame in which zipper braces were added called zipper brace frame.
Zipper columns are attached vertically and lie perpendicular (90 degrees) to floor beams. These columns can transfer the unbalancing force caused by the buckling of the compressive member of the first-story bracing to the bracings in upper stories (Figure 1 & 2).
With a proper zipper configuration, it is possible to address the problems and weaknesses of the chevron bracing frame [11].
According to the study of Pourbaba P et al. [5] found that adding vertical Zipper member had good effects on the behaviour of the frames. Thus, as it was seen, while the compressive braced frame members at the first floor was not buckling (at the beginning of lateral loading), internal force in Zipper braced member was zero. Bye using the zipper column in CBF reduction of mid-point deflections of beam in the braced system as well as improvement of ductility.
By using zipper braces seismic performance improve significantly than frame without zipper [12].
Seismic analysis of RC frames by using ETABS 2016
Kai Hu, Yimeng Yang [13] Time history analysis by SAP200 and ETABS are roughly similar. However, SAP2000 does not have the concept of “storey”, which made the post- processing much more complicated.Therefore for regular structure ETABS is recommended.ETABS mainly offers following types of analysis: (a) Linear (b)Nonlinear (c)Pushover Analysis (d)PΔ Effect Analysis,and for this analysis ETABS gives good result Rinkesh R Bhandarkar [14](Figure 3).
Seismic Analysis of zipper braced frame
Time history analysis and pushover analysis is used in past researches.Bill Tremayne[15] time history analysis is more effective than response spectrum method. Time History is realistic method, used for seismic analysis, it provides a better check to the safety of structures analysed and designed by method specified by IS code Patil AS [16], Prakriti chandrakar et al.[2]Time history analysis is a more precise in description of the structure under dynamic load and it can give a more precise approximation of the interior stresses and also the time and position of the cracks emerging in the structure. This method calculates response of structure subjected to earthquake excitation at every instant of time (hence the name Time History).
Seismic performance of zipper braced frame compared with different braced frame
Adding vertical Zipper member had good effects on the behaviour of the frames. Amount of absorbing energy in Zipper bracing members is more than Chevron [5]. By using the zipper strut it leads to better seismic performance of the structure,by imposing acceleration on the structure and conducting time history analysis, it is observed that the zipperstrut- equipped system shows a stronger tendency to form shear links, leading to greater dissipation capacity in plastic zoneSeyedMehadiZahrai[17].Zipper brace improve lateral strength, ductility, and yielding mechanism than X-bracing Ashwin PC [18]. Seismic performance of different buildings in terms of performance point shows that IVF, VBF and ZBF buildings have higher capacity than other buildings [19].ZBF enhances structural performance against seismic load[20,21]. Bracing element will have very important effect on structural behaviour under earthquake effect [22]. For constant structural weight, structures designed by using zipper braced frame experience up to 50% less global ductility ratio(damage) compared with code-based structuresVaseghiJ [23].

Conclusion
According to the research the results which were obtained is most promising technique for seismic rehabilitation [1] it is Concluded as in zipper braced frames as number of stories increases, appeared to account for the increased conservatism of the procedure as the number of stories increases [4]. according to the research adding vertical zipper members has good effects on the behaviour of the frames, also internal forces in zipper is zero[5]. The use of suspended zipper concept to rehabilitation and strengthening of structures were economical and practical [7]. In addition by adding zipper columns to chevron bracing systems a more uniform interstorey drift distribution over the building height was observed [9].

Location: Jiashan, Zhejiang, China
Jiashan Museum & Library is a cultural complex, which is intended to offer local citizens a public cultural activity venue and to greatly enhance the cultural vitality of the county.
With a limited plot area, the project lacks space to accommodate a large-capacity outdoor public activity venue. The site is adjacent to an open urban landscape space, which is under planning but the construction has been postponed. Therefore, the architects had to explore and conceive architectural spaces within the plot.
Based on site conditions, the architects took the open void at the middle as the core, and combined three architectural volumes around it to enclose a square for the crowd, which is also an outdoor extension of the foyers of the library and museum.
The square provides resting space for citizens, while also connecting the museum and library. Moreover, it serves diversified public activities such as outdoor exhibition, pop-up book market, etc., fully embodying the functions and image of an urban “knowledge hall and cultural living room”.
The three building volumes are arranged at appropriate positions according to their respective functions. The museum is set at the southeast corner and near an intersection. It has a closed facade, which shows a clean, neat and iconic image.
The library sits on the north side and faces the river. It boasts ample daylighting on north and sides, and the museum isolates it from the noisy urban road. The building volume at southwest corner and close to the open urban landscape area accommodates shared ancillary facilities for the museum and library, including lecture hall, casual dining area, etc.
The design draws inspiration from local cultural context. Jiashan is located in the north of Zhejiang Province, and adjoins Shanghai and Jiangsu. It features a dense water network and developed shipping industry. In Ming and Qing dynasties, Jiashan was known as the “Country of a Thousand Kilns”, because the kiln industry in the county back then was prosperous and most of its bricks were produced for imperial palaces. The form of the square takes design cues from local brick kilns. It’s an abstract yet modern “brick kiln” space, which reflects a meaningful attempt to extend building boundaries. Meanwhile, it blurs the boundary between interior and outside, openness and privacy.
The architecture has a smooth and simple appearance, which is complemented by large areas of flat and light-hued stone curtain walls and characterized by texture contrast. Inner facades draw on the stacked structures of brick kilns, and form brick-red curved surfaces. The strong contrast of external and inner facades implies the idea that the unexpected and spectacular is hidden in a plain shell. The whole architecture is like a natural jade that reveals brilliance after being cut open. It’s also like a city that collects culture and treasure, which echoes the design theme “Book Repository and Treasure Kiln”.

Bermain di Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre, Minggu (21/5), China gagal menyapu bersih kemenangan atas Hong Kong. Berpredikat sebagai ganda campuran nomor satu dunia, Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen, malah tak berhasil menyumbangkan poin. Mereka dikalahkan ganda campuran peringkat ke-15 Hong Kong, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet, dengan skor 21-10, 16-21, 18-21. Kekalahan itu memang tak mengubah kemenangan China atas Hong Kong. China sudah memastikan kemenangan atas Hong Kong 3-0 pada partai ketiga usai hasil positif yang dibukukan Lin Dan. Lin Dan mengalahkan Hu Yun 21-15, 26-24. Dua kemenangan sebelumnya didapatkan China lewat ganda putra dan tunggal putri. Zhang Nan/Haifeng mengalahkan Law Cheuk Him/Lee Chun Hei Reginald dengan skor 21-15, 26-24. Disusul kemenangan tunggal terbaik yang dimiliki Sun Yu (peringkat keenam) atas Fan Ka Yan dengan skor 21-12, 21-13. Keunggulan China berlanjut pada partai keempat yang memainkan ganda putri. Bao Yixin/Tang Jinhua berhasil mengalahkan Ng Tsz Yau/Yeung Nga Ting dengan kedudukan akhir 21-11, 21-13. China masih menyisakan satu laga lagi di fase grup.
