“I won’t steal anything from you again. I promise”

And Varian goes

“I don’t trust promises”

Cause of Raps and everything but then further into their journey when they start to get closer Hugo says

“I’ve got your back, Goggles I promise”

And Varian says

“Okay”

And then the betrayal Varian is heartbroken and says

“I thought I knew better than to trust promises”

And he’s just so disappointed in himself because the promises made to him always break and he really tried not to let himself get fooled by promises but when it comes to the people he cares about he can’t help it and he always ends up hurt in the end

The price of leaving...

I finished this last week, but protesting for Palestine, I waited to post it (on Instagram). I'm just remembering that Tumblr exists LOL

But yeah, this is right after Hugo tells Donella he's done working for her. Let's just say, she's less than happy about it. He's right, Don usually doesn't get physical with any of her lackies, but Hugo is different. This is her own flesh and blood, after all. This is the boy she was going to raise to go into the Eternal Library, the boy she's conditioned to be just like her in every way. So to have him say he's not going through with it anymore, that he's leaving her and this life behind? She figured she would knock some sense into him, which in turn, only solidifies Hugo's decision to leave.

This literally started as a fun lil sketch based off a shot in the "Wings of Freedom" intro in Attack On Titan, where Hange does pretty much the exact same pose when they're covered in blood. And it turned into a whole ass scene with Donella LOL

But honestly, I'm proud of this. 1. Hugo turned out really freaking good and really freaking attractive LOL and 2. The symbolism with the walls, the cracks on Donella's side, and the new life growing in the vines to cover up the scars of the walls on Hugo's side, I'm really happy with how this turned out!!

stupid vat7k one-shot based off a tiktok i saw, credits to @/silly._.creature._.fr there!!

Varian blacked out as soon as the bar came into contact with his head. He and Hugo had just finished a break through on Corona’s water pressure.

But as soon as he woke up he was greeted with a sight he definitely did not expect to see.

“Nuru?” Varian blinked at his friend, then looked to beside her and saw Yong. “Yong? What is this? Why are you guys—“

“Varian we need you to listen to us.” Nuru had fear in her eyes. “We don’t know how we got here but we’re covered in this stupid goo stuff so we can’t move—“

“Varian?”

Varian blinked, turned around and was put in a headlock. He struggled, but was dragged over anyway.

What confused him the most, was that the voice was Hugo’s.

“Let me go!” He tried to elbow his capturer, but was held tighter.

He squinted his eyes open, and—“Donella? What’re you— I can—I can get—“

“Donella you’re going to choke him let him go!” Hugo shouted, but Varian still didn’t see him.

The woman smiled at him and dropped him, he fell to the floor and coughed until he could breathe straight.

“Don’t you act all high and mighty, Varian.” She placed her foot to his chest. “Did you ever think your little boyfriend might be a liar?”

What? Varian stood up as Donella took her foot off him, he stumbled but kept his back straight.

“Don’t, Donella, please—“

“What’s the fuss?” Donella kept a smile on her face as she walked over to Hugo—completely unharmed Hugo—and pointed at him.

“Why hide the fact that you’re a spy,” Donella giggled as she held up a small glass orb. “Just like us?”

Donella slammed the orb to the ground, and she disappeared.

Varian felt his heart stop as he stood, his back still turned to them all.

“..Varian?” He heard Hugo ask.

All Varian did was turn at him, glare with tears in his eyes, and walk away with a hurt heart, Nuru and Yong in suit.

So I have an AU idea in my head from looking at 2 pecies of fanart on Instagram. The first one was hugo meeting varian after coming back from trying to get Rapunzel to save his dad and the other is hugo and varian being villains together.

So the AU is basically Hugo stumbles upon varian after his failed mission to help his dad. Hugo was supposed to steal what was left of old corona because it was supposed to be abandoned. Anyway after they meet the just stare at each other until Hugo starts to leave but the varian says something. Aster this that have a deep conversation and Hugo gives the idea to help varian get his dad back. And the story keeps moving on then they steal the flower then the kidnapping and the fight that it brought with. When Rapunzel and the king come to save the queen they ask why varian did what he did and Hugo explains to them very harshly by the way of why and how even after the blizzard she didn't send anyone to help or send anyone to help during the blizzard but instead letting varian get dragged away and sent back out into a blizzard. But instead of going to jail Hugo and varian make a run for it and now there on the run. During the time there on the run the partner up with the people varian did during his villian arch(can't remember names). So they partner up with them and try and take over corona while still trying to save varians dad. Hugo also tells varian about his past during and nice moment between the 2 and this time it doesn't go South for them when varian finds out. When Rapunzel comes back and saves her kingdom varian and Hugo instead of being good people entirely they are very chaotic and violent still but they become the Royal engineer's. They start dating sometime during the full being villian thing just don't know when.

After a few years to then go on the trials and when they meet don Hugo absolutely hates her and varian is fully with it.

Someone write this please. I'm a terrible writer.

Varian was completely silent as he worked, only the sounds of bubbling chemicals and clinking glass filling the air. The capsule that he had clenched in his fist for hours after walking out of the tavern lay open, almost disassembled on his desk. Next to it lay the two capsules he had. One held teal, transparent flakes that shone in the light, and the other held a thick, dark blue liquid. According to the writing carved into the outside of the capsules, they were called Petrixium and Ferronixar.

During those long hours of walking, his mind had been tearing through ideas and formulas, ways to make something new, something better. Something he could use. It was only after he had spent hours experimenting, trying to bring his dream into reality, that he resigned to the fact that he was missing something. Something to bind the components together, and something to let it move freely through the air. Fortunately for him, it was only about a twenty minute walk to the inn that the rest of the group was staying in.

The door to their room swung open with a quiet click, and Varian tucked the key back into his coat. It took him a few minutes of rummaging around, but he eventually found Nuru’s capsule, hidden in the pocket of her jacket. Shortly after, he found Hugo’s, laying on the table, it’s chain coiled around it. For good measure, he found Yong’s, too, on the table next to his bed. He took a trio of small vials out of his pocket, then carefully shook some of each compound out, into the vials. Then he started to return each capsule to where it had been before. He set Hugo’s down, then-

“Varian.“

He spun around and swung out his staff at the sound, barely stopping before hitting the person. Hugo jumped back, away from the staff at his neck.

“Please don’t do this,” Hugo pleaded.

“Like you could stop me.”

“I can’t. That’s why I’m asking you.”

Varian sneered. “What’s the point? You know I’m not going to.”

Hugo paused. “On the off chance that I was right.”

“That you were right?” Varian laughed, bringing his staff back to his side. “Right about what? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure you haven’t been right about much so far.”

“On the chance that I’m right about you. That you’re not like your mother.”

Varian froze. Hugo stood still, but there was no sign of regret on his face. “That I’m not what?”

“You heard me. Think about it, you’re doing exactly what you told me you didn’t want to do.” Hugo gestured at the capsule Varian was still touching. “You’re stealing from us, you’re being selfish, and you’re hurting people.”

“I’m not hurting anyone.” Varian shot back.

Hugo scoffed. “Yeah, you are. You think watching you walk out into a storm, not even looking back didnt hurt?”

Varian paused. He thought one thing, then said another. “That was your fault, don’t try to blame it on me.”

“Yes, it was, and I’m sorry. I know I made a mistake, and I should’ve told you, but please, don’t do something you’ll regret because of something I did.” Varian didn’t respond, turning his eyes to the ground. “I’m sorry.”

He looked up at Hugo. “And I don’t forgive you.”

Varian lifted his hand from the capsule, then took the key from his pocket and set it down next to the capsule.

“No,” Hugo started. “You can’t do this again.”

Varian opened the door, then stepped out.

“Varian!”

The door shut.
