omg you can't drop a [redacted] like that i wanna know who that is!! i do not frequent the f1 subreddit for my own health but i am curious who they jerk themselves off over…
Aasdjef.........it's Carlos...... 🤭
And this has been going on for some time, probably since time at McLaren? In a 2021 r/formula1-wide survey (with twelve thousand respondents) McLaren was named the most popular team, while Carlos himself was like the 5th popular driver with 38.6% of votes, ahead of the likes of Charles, Seb and Lewis. Mind you, he came into Ferrari with two podiums to his name, and until this year, had no wins and no poles. In fact, before that, he was second on the most races before first win list. After some jokes about being a gravel trap honey trap at the start of the year he once again started gaining traction and popularity across the subreddit for vocally disobeying team orders, most notably in Monaco and Silverstone. "Stop inventing" became the new catchphrase. Of course in light of that Charles started getting compared unfavourably for not being "assertive" enough, not "leader" enough. Also, they think he's really hot and frequently make "he's making me question my sexuality" type comments about him. Iirc they were also holding up Hulk as being a conventionally good-looking alpha male type.
So back to those two. Looking at the 2018 stats from Hulk and Carlos's time as teammates (and I'm aware stats don't tell the full story but I'm not gonna go rewatch that season now so for the purposes of this post.....let's just go with the stats)... Hulk finished 7th in the standings with 69 (heh) points to his name. Carlos finished 10th with 53 points. The killer part? Hulk had a whopping 7 DNFs that year. Carlos had 2.

aston martin's team manager was singing de vries' praises and talking about how he was a serious contender for the seat. i don't see them going for a talent like piastri. no offense to de vries at all, but they seem to be going for a driver who wouldn't completely outshine stroll. (there's a rumor from a few hours ago that mick tends to leave the ferrari driver academy and take that seat, but it wasn't from a reliable source and aston martin haven't publicly said as much about him vs de vries)
i mean having the FE champion in your driver lineup wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, right?
i’m not the biggest fan of either of them but it’s a really shame, both oscar and nyck have proved that they’re worthy of a seat on the grid and they deserve more than a back marker team

Side note: Piastri anon where do you want him to end up Williams or AM? //
I don't know if you were referring to me or to the unusually silent Piastri nonnie 😅
it seems Alpine want to resign with Alonso for at least 1 season — some people are even saying 2, so it's almost sure Alpine is definitely off the list for Oscar, when it's his own team — this could motivate him and Webber to look for other teams and break the young driver contract (I've heard they're interested by Daniel's seat, but I think he'll be staying for longer than what we think. I really hope it's just a strategy to have a better contract elsewhere from Piastri/Webber's side because it's a bad idea). Williams have their own academy, so it makes sense they would prefer to sign Logan Sargeant if they can, so it seems another door is closing. no matter if he signs with Williams or Aston, he will have to break his contract as there is no agreement at the moment with either team, so he will be left with no "protection" or plan for his future, like Zhou (also from the Alpine academy by the way), but in his case, his sponsors and good results protect him from Alfa choosing another driver or Pourchaire from their academy, whereas at the moment, Oscar has nothing in F1 and would probably be "team-less", which is dangerous for a young driver. I honestly don't watch what Aston do, seeing Seb in that state in that team saddened me too much, but if Aston offer Oscar a contract, I wonder how it would work with Stroll jr, especially if he seriously challenges him in his first season, or does better. if he signs with Williams, he quickly would be under pressure from Sargeant and the team I think, so in the long run, either he or Alex would have to leave if Alonso is still in F1 at that moment, so it's maybe not the right choice.
I think wherever Oscar signs, it could destroy his career if it's not Alpine as all the "main" teams already have their golden boy: Charles at Ferrari, Max at Red Bull, Lewis and now George at Mercedes, Lando at McLaren, while Oscar would either be in a midfield/backfield team with the risk of getting screwed by a pay driver at any time (Estebestie in 2019 💔) and with 'no real future' or evolution, or have a position like Carlos or Vaterri — talented, but 2nd driver in a top team, only if he does well enough to interest Red Bull or another team — when he deserves to have a team behind him. I totally understand and agree that Alonso deserves to stay, but I wonder where and if Oscar will find his team. I think there are 3 main scenarios for his career (if he doesn't sign with Alpine and has good results): either he will spend his career in midfield/backfield teams like AM because the places in the top teams are taken by drivers from their academy or drivers with experience (and he would need solid results and/or solid sponsors to stay); or he will have a career like Carlos or Perez: change teams until he gets to a top team as a #2 driver (officially or not); or after one or two seasons he'll get his seat at Alpine and stay there and be the main driver or at least alongside his teammate, after Alonso's retirement. I see him more with AM because I don't think they have any young drivers, they have no reason to refuse a contract and I don't think they have a better option at the moment? — I don't think Dan will leave for AM, I don't believe in Hulkenback. the only threat could be Nyck de Vries I think, but without the support of Mercedes I doubt he'll manage to make it over Oscar (Lewis is not about to leave and George is in his first season and is supposed to be the future of the team, so it doesn't seem like a good time to have a junior in F1) 🤔
🦋
God I love your asks 😩 It’s impressive how similar our thoughts are and I’m here for it.

Hulkenberg Was Ridiculous in 2020! #Shorts
Nico Hulkenberg put in three super-sub performances in 2020 for Racing Point, qualifying an incredible third at Silverstone! He then scored points in that race and at the Nurburgring later in the year. Will he score more points as he returns full-time with Haas in 2023?
