Love that Star Trek accurately portrays humans in the future as being DTF practically anything. Works wonders for diplomacy.
"Sure I don't find you attractive, but give me ten minutes, your Excellency, and I'll find someone on this ship who's into tentacles and slime."
We may not be super intelligent or super strong, but give humans a chance. We're annoyingly likeable, tenacious, stubborn, and attracted to the weirdest things.

Thinking about how, in The Tholian Web, Spock shows that he respects and understands McCoy by approaching him on a human level and calling him “Bones” (like Jim would do)
Tumblr media
...and then McCoy shows he respects and understands Spock by granting him his dignity despite the emotional weight of the situation and calling him “Captain” (like Jim would do)
Tumblr media
...and then both of them team up to charmingly bald-faced lie to Kirk to convince him that they never had time to watch his last orders, so they couldn't possibly have taken his advice...
Tumblr media
(like Jim would do)

The depth of Kirk being a big himbo in his slut era all the time in a very overt human way, while also being a huge nerd brainiac supercomputer on legs.
Contrasting Spock, who is a supercomputer on legs, but ALSO a big himbo in his slut era in a very overt Vulcan way.
Proof: He is so TOUCHY with his captain. He lets touch be a staple in their relationship and just. Doesn’t mention its significance to his culture. Lets people think it’s just him “putting up with” his captain. To non-Vulcans, sure that excuse works. But any Vulcan with working eyes knows what he’s up to. They’re silently scandalized.

"Thank you for helping me and I-Chaya."
"It was my duty, Spock."
"Mother says you should always say thank you."

"You followed me. Why?"
"I suspected you would go. You are worried about the kahs-wan ordeal."

"I had to see if I could do it. A personal test. I cannot fail."
"That is your father's wish?"
"Yes, and my mother's. They- they confuse me. Father wants me to do things his way, and Mother says I should. But then she goes-"
"She is a human woman, with strong emotion and sensitivities. She embarrasses you with those traits, and you are afraid when you see them in yourself."

"How did you know?"
"There is some human blood in my family line. It is not fatal. What you do not yet understand, Spock, is that Vulcans do not lack emotion. It is only that ours is controlled. Logic offers a serenity humans seldom experience in full. We have emotions but we deal with them and do not let them control us."

I just realised that when Beelzebub fires lightning in this scene (to wake up Shax) the bolt ends up separating Aziraphale and Crowley

Thank god this isn't foreshadowing or anything and they'll be off to the South Downs by the end of the episode, haha. Wait why aren't you laughing

Jim likes to pick up Spock after work at the Embassy. Sometimes, they drop by the store on their way home and get some wine for the evening. Jim is always so excited to finally see Spock after a long day of work, that he blabs the whole way home, while Spock silently listens, responding with occasional "hms" and "indeeds". Spock will never admit it but walking home from work with Jim is his favourite part of the day.

It’s a plot line in a few spirk fics I’ve read of Spock being upset that people have plucked flowers to gift each other because it’s wasteful to the flowers
But I think we as a community need to come together and make more stories of Spock and other Vulcans not responding to plucked flowers as a waste, but as a logical snack since they’ve already been plucked
Other thoughts along this vein:
Dates where the tables are decorated with flowers and while the Humans eat chips before their food arrives, the Vulcans are eating the flowers
Human kids finding out Vulcans eat flowers and just giving away all their flowers to their Vulcan classmate(s) because Human children would absolutely find it delightful to see someone chowing down on flowers
Human who gets flowers for something and they don’t wanna just watch them wilt away so a Vulcan in their life makes the logical suggestion for the Human to give the flowers to them to dispose of (this is purely because it’s a logical solution and not at all because they’ve been eyeing the flowers hungrily since they saw them, they swear)
Humans seeing Vulcans eat flowers enough to the point that they decide to nibble a petal and immediately regretting it

Just watched TOS's episode Journey to Babel and there was a moment that had me giggling.
Around 5 minutes in, when Jim is giving Sarek a tour and Spock is not-so-inconspicuously sulking in the foreground with Amanda, Sarek says 'My wife, attend.' which we can presume is a Vulcan thing, probably a nice and polite way of reminding others who your mate is without all of the pre-Surak stabby-ness.
And then not even ten seconds later, when Spock turns to leave, Jim turns to him and says 'Mr. Spock, a moment if you please?'
And I can't help but see the little parallel. Its like Kirk felt the need to also show the room who his boyfriend is but copying Sarek, who Kirk only learned two minutes ago was Spock's dad, would have been a bit too cheeky. First meeting with the in-laws and all that.
Plus Jim calls Spock over to explain the Enterprise's computers which Sarek does not need to know about. Almost as if Jim had to come up with a reason on the spot to explain away why he just called Spock over like Sarek did with Amanda.
Double plus, Sarek and Amanda are Vulcan kissing the entire agonising trip Spock takes to walk over to Jim. Like, not a light brush of the fingers, those babies are firmly pressed and not budging. And they don't stop until Sarek has insulted Spock and sent him away. Its more a makeout session than a kiss.
So, anyway, Jim calls Spock over both because he's maybe a little intimidated by Sarek and wants his best friend/boyfriend to support him and also because, no matter the species, men behave similarly when it comes to certain things like mates and Jim was not about to be shown up on his own ship.
