The Owl House + Lumity + Hunger Games AU??? Idk LMAO I’m still on a THG kick after rereading/watching the whole trilogy!!

Okay so this is a stupid idea but I’m just having fun with it. Obviously it won’t follow the hunger games directly because the situation and characters are different, but some stuff kinda connects!!

Katniss and Peeta= Luz and Amity

Prim & Ms Everdeen & buttercup = Vee and Camilla and King

The Mellarks = Odalia (fitting!), Alador, and Ed + Em (fits since both Peet and Ami have two older siblings). I don’t think they’d run a bakery though, but something abomination related that fits here.

Haymitch = Eda

Madge = Gus??

Gale = I’m afraid there’s no Gale equivalent here because it doesn’t make sense in this AU, and I’m not a fan of love triangles anyway.

Effie = Hooty. This is funny to me. the peak of my fanart career

Cinna and Portia = Darius and Eberwolf

Anyways I kept the human and witch ears because I thought that could be an interesting tie with the Merchants vs Seam. And Amity’s hair is fully green in the interview scene because she got her grown roots dyed during the makeover! In this scenario I imagine Odalia would make her children dye funky hair colours in hopes of getting into the ‘capitol’ equivalent, which I guess is the Emperors Coven.

Also instead of girl on fire, Luz would have some ‘light’ related title.

every single bit of willow content in this ep was also so so so so so so so so so fucking good. like there's so much media where one of the side characters is confident and friendly and sweet and supportive and by all accounts emotionally adjusted and they're never given any ROOM to be complicated or messy or unhappy. or if they ARE given a Mess Moment, it's usually in the form of them snapping and lashing out at everyone for never caring about them the way they care about everyone else (as if the other characters are at fault for their inability to ask for help). so. deconstructing that archetype with willow, who IS genuinely so confident and self-assured and sweet and friendly and supportive, by having her slowly collapse and have a nervous breakdown from the stress of always needing to perfectly play her archetypal Adjusted Normal Support Friend role.... fuck me UP i NEVER thought we'd get such good fucking willow content with how little runtime there was left, ESPECIALLY because i usually have to do the complex heavy lifting with similar characters myself. like i'm not used to seeing this kind of arc illustrated so viscerally in the actual canon. yes!!! yes!!! yes yes yes yes yes!!! fuck!!!! explore the heights and stakes of these 'quieter' more introverted issues with the same drama and messiness and narrative weight that all the more-typically-befuckened characters get!!! LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!! WILLOW FUCKING PARK!!!!!!!!!!

Covens

The way the Owl House coven system has been used in fanon is kind of gross. There’s nothing wrong with the magic categories (ei. I like bard magic, this person does Abomination magic) but labelling them as “which coven would you be in” comes off extremely hollow. Textually, the covens are part of a genocide plot against the witches and it’s very clear that the covens are a bad thing, that they’re kind of like a semi-self imposed separation that causes infighting so the actual awful person can quietly kill people. Seeing “which coven are you” posts, especially when they don’t include the option of being a wild witch, are... yikes.

Ultimately this doesn’t have many real world applications. The infighting with the witches reminds me of how people in power intentionally spark infighting in queer communities and pit people against each other on topics that ultimately don’t matter while we get legislated away. I think, when you’re considering how to interact with any media, you should be aware of what exactly you’re representing because the show itself is extremely straightforward. The main plot of season 1 is Eda trying to keep Luz away from the covens and refusing to join one herself, and we see characters who did join like Raine showing extreme regret and horror at everything happening. Using the magic system is fine, nobody cares. But like... talking about the covens like they’re a major or a h*gwarts house is kind of wild given the actual context.  The show itself is asking you not to use the categories and actively encourages wild magic and fighting against imposed labels. So uh... go ahead and multitrack and do whatever you want. You don’t need to put everything into a category, you can just let media be sometimes.

You were born with the soul of the caressing. Your nature is one of kindness and compassion to others.

Your earliest years were spent in the kingdom of Rondon with your parents and younger brother, it was a happy life but not one that would last.

Increasing taxes and land foreclosures became commonplace in your country and your family’s farm wasn’t safe from this. Overnight, all the money had dried up and you were left with nothing.

With the last few dimes left in the bank, your father bought a seafare to move to the newly claimed Vinland, however no one knew the truth of this cursed voyage.

What was initially a month-long voyage doubled, with the vessel hopelessly lost at sea both passengers and crew began to succumb to starvation.

One of these unfortunate victims was your mother, who fought until her last breath.

Your father was drowned in guilt from this and took his own life, not only from the grief but so that you and your brother would have ‘something to eat’.

With the sailors praying for the deceased, they decide to respect his last wishes. Both of you are saddened beyond belief, you see the pain in your brother’s eyes but also feel the pain of hunger, you decide to…

The Owl House is the easiest— if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you can probably tell Hunter is my favorite, haha! He’s just like me; a sad blonde bisexual (/lhj). But I also absolutely love Gus and Eda.

An obvious answer, but I love Percy. I usually don’t like the main character of a series, but he’s the exception. I’m also a sucker for Nico.

Marcy!! I absolutely love Marcy. I relate to her a lot, and she’s honestly such a precious character.

My favorite Gravity Falls character would have to be Dipper! Just like Marcy and Hunter, I relate to Dipper a lot.

(I just realized all of my favorites are the “bad end” kids… all of characters who got possessed in their respective shows 😅)

Lastly, Hunger Games!! Absolutely Peeta. Always Peeta. Usually book boyfriends irritate me, but Peeta’s the best.
