TOH HEADCANONS
- Alador wasn't present for any of his children's births. Not bc he didn't want to be, but bc odalia wouldn't allow him time of work to do so
- He was so happy to see amity grow up looking more like him with the brown hair and similar traits
- He wishes he put up more of a fight against odalia for how she treated their kids, and feels guilty about not being more present and standing up for them
- Eda and Raine were the worst people to put together, bc they caused C H A O S during their hexside days
- Sometimes Lilith, Darius, Alador and Perry would also join in, but it was mostly Eda and Rainey
- They have a Look™️ which means LETS CAUSE TROUBLE ON PURPOSE
- It's part of the reason Darius sought out Raine for the rebellion and knowledge
- Darius and Raine and Eberwolf always played pranks of Adrian Graye but never got caught. Adrian found it infuriating
- Darius takes Hunter in after everything goes down
- Eberwolf lives next door and likes to cause chaos and wrangles hunter into doing it too much to Darius's dismay
- Mud baths are a staple. But hunter and eber have to be hosed down before being allowed back into the house
- Hunter begged for Darius to tell him about his predecessor after the dust settled. It took Darius a while to do so but he did eventually
- Lilith will not hesitate to punch anyone who disrespects hooty
- They're ride or die pals forever and always
- Hooty still kinda freaks Raine out even after all this time
- Hunter and Amity have a secret pact that is basically if one of them needs the other for any kind of fight they come no questions asked
- They also go to each other when talking about childhood trauma
- Luz and Gus bond over losing a parent
- They first do so in the human realm when Gus asks about her dad
- Gus's mum died when he was like 5 or 6 so he doesn't remember her very well other than that she was ill for most of his childhood
- Gus has no idea how strong he is
- He was arm wrestling amity and accidentally hurt her arm bc he was so into it
- The hexsquad don't get it when Luz calls him Lennie after that, and she won't elaborate
- Willow gives people specific plants to certain people as gifts
- For example, Gus gets one that symbolisies friendship, amity gets one symbolising strength, Luz gets one symbolising honour, and hunter gets one symbolising love
- The way the others had to hold back tears when she gave them out made her cry as well
- Hunter is terrible at sharing unless it's with Gus or Willow
- Eda will bite you if you try and take food from her plate
- Raine tried once, they never tried afterwords tho
- Lilith and hooty go off on little adventures every now and then
- King and Luz always refer to each other as brother and sister, even in the human realm
- King is also very clingy over Luz and Eda now (more so than before)
- I like to think that if the collector is tamed and looked after they get to be a real kid, who doesn't cause chaos for the sake of it
- I also like to think that the collector and hunter would be close almost like a sibling relationship but not quite?
- Like the collector is like MY GRIMWALKER HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS ME and hunter is like this is my star child who I can't get rid of
- Initially, bc of this, the collector is clingy with hunter and somewhat jealous of his other friends but soon grows used to it
- Hunter is basically their parent but also sibling? Like I say it's an odd dynamic
- King and the collector often hang but it's a little awkward at first
- Lilith and Raine actually get along really well once they properly get to know each other, tho they don't hang out much
- When the do they just embarrass Eda
- Luz is still very much an outcast at school when she returns to the human realm but it doesn't bother her in the same way as it did before
- She's a lot harder now so stands up for herself and others more as a result of her time in the Boiling Isles

King is my favorite character from The Owl House - Here's Why
So The Owl House is a show I quite like. While I don't think it's exactly perfect, it's a great show with good animation, an interesting fantasy world and magic system, great emotional beats, great characters, and great LGBT representation. It's definitely a great show. There's one thing I do like about The Owl House the most though, and that's the characters. Sure, most of them are very rough in season 1 but in seasons 2 and 3 they get quite well-written and compelling. From our main protagonist Luz, to Eda to Amity or Hunter, the show has some solid character writing. But which character is my favorite? Well you've already seen the title of this post so let's talk about this little guy:
Tumblr media
In this post, I am going to explain why King is my favorite character in The Owl House, by talking about his arc throughout the series and his development. This post WILL contain spoilers for The Owl House, so you have been warned.
First talk about the smaller reasons I like King before I talk about his development. First, I like how King acts as sort of a little brother to Luz. Their dynamic is a super sweet sibling-like bond. And also, King is just very funny mainly in season 1. His whole gimmick of thinking he's a king of demons somehow never gets old and is very funny. Plus it sets up his development in season 2. Alright...now I'm done.
So...let's talk about the reason why I love King, that being his development throughout the series, more specifically his development in season 2. I don't have much to say about King in season 1 other than he's a funny and cute comic relief character in that season.
Season 2 however is when King became a great character, starting with episode 3: Echoes of the Past. In this episode, Luz, Lilith King and Hooty go to an island that King claims he came from so he could prove that he was the king of demons. While they explore the cave and look at a bunch of murals, King in this episode tells the others a bunch of stories of what he did as the King of demons, saying that he was cursed by someone into his current tiny form. They get chased down by this rock monster thingy and Eda comes to rescue them.
Eda then explains the reason why King always acted like he was some kind of overlord. Eight years ago, while Eda was looking to hide from the EC while it was boiling rain she went to this island when she was looking for shelter. She went into the cave and found King when he was just a little dogo. Also...
Tumblr media
Can we appreciate how adorable Baby King is? Like, awww just look at him he's SO cute!!! Okay so erm, anyway, she took King from the cave because that monster in it was going to kill them both, and she took home with her. When they got home, King was building a bunch of stuff out of random objects, and after Eda makes a remark about him being a "king amongst his subjects", it makes King wonder what a king really was, and Eda tells King what a king really means and that's how he got the idea that he was some kind of overlord.
After that, King's entire worldview kinda of crumbles. He begins to realize that all this time his memories of being a king with feasts, subjects, and all that stuff were all just memories of him as a baby pretending to be a King. What I like here is how this episode takes what was once just some running gag throughout the first season and recontextualizes it in the second, adding some context to why King thinks he's some kind of ruler.
For years King thought that this fantasy that he was some kind of king of demons was real, and that he was the king of demons that lost his memory. And now that he knows it's all been a lie, he breaks down. It also shows that King is still a little kid, which is why he believed this fantasy for so long; he's a child who thinks that he was this awesome amazing ruler who was feared and respected by all, only for it to be a lie. Anyways, back to the episode, King runs away to somewhere and Eda Luz and Lilith all go to find him on the island.
Luz finds King sitting on a log and goes to talk to him, and he's still upset. There's one line here that stands out to me;
King: Eda was right wasn't she? I'm not a king, I'm a nobody
Earlier the episode showed that this fantasy that King was the king of demons was very important to him, as shown by how he reacted when Lilith mocked his stories earlier in the episode. This line implies that believing this fantasy that he was some all-powerful king made him feel special in a way, and now that he knows he was never really a king, he thinks he's a nobody.
Alex Hirsch also does a great job voicing King here, you can hear the emotion in his voice during this scene. Luz says that maybe some of King's memories were real, and King goes and tries to remember some of the memories that were real. King reluctantly agrees and they go rejoin the others and they go back to the cave. After avoiding the monster in the cave, Luz shoots some fire at the hole blocked off by the rocks and they go up to the hole.
There they find some rooms that King finds familiar. He gets some of his memories reawakened and it's revealed that the monster thingy was trying to protect King, as it stops when King orders it to. The memory is King hatching as wil ol baby and then crawling to open the door, the rock monster carries them and they fall down the hole as they hear a roar sound. King says that the roar meant "son", which means that it was his dad. King says that he wants to find out who his dad is and they go back to isle leaving the island. Thus, an arc for King is set up about finding out who his father is.
So this episode was great! Like I said earlier, it takes a running gag in season 1 and recontextualizes it in a way that's interesting. It also does a good job of setting up King's arc of self-discovery this season.
The next two episodes I'll talk about are Eda's Requiem and Knock Knockin' on Hooty's Door. In Eda's Requiem King wants to win a race so he can record a message so his father can see it. They didn't win the race because King puked and they got 6th place. They do still record a message and post it online, and his dad does end up seeing it..or at least someone who looks like King's dad sees it. Before we continue...let's talk about this brilliant piece of subversion here.
Tumblr media
See this guy? The first time you would see him you would instantly think that he is King's father. I mean, he looks a lot like King with the skull and general body shape, so it's very easy to assume that this is King's father. Buuuuuuut as we know now, he isn't King's father, he's a part of a certain group which I'll mention once I get to episode 17, Edge of the World. Anyway, the next episode I'll talk about is the one right after Eda's Requiem, Knock Knockin' on Hooty's Door.
This episode has Hooty trying to help Luz, King and Eda with some of their problems. Let's talk about the scenes with King, because...well this is a post talking about King lol. So here King really wants to know who his father is and Hooty tries to help King find out by trying to figure out what kind of demon he is.
After some funny scenes with Hooty trying (and failing) to figure out what kind of demon King is, he takes some of King's blood and runs a test. Turns out, Hooty still doesn't know what kind of demon King is and he says that King is "him". King is disappointed by this, and then King gets upset because he still can't know who his father is, as he's never responded to his message or wanted posters, and he thinks that maybe his dad is gone. He then gets upset that his dad was never there for him, that he supposedly disappeared and never talked to his son.
This scene definitely hits pretty hard as it shows King getting more desperate to find his father, and it's also when King ends up unlocking his powers. Basically, King shoots some yellow ring wave things whenever he roars or does the "weh" sound. And at the end of the episode we see this figure again and send a note to King, though Hooty eats it once he sees a bug on it.
This episode did a good job of continuing King's self-discovery arc and introducing his new powers. Now, let's skip to 9 episodes later in episode 17; Edge of the World. The episode's plot revolves around Luz, King and Hooty going to an island which transports them to the other side of the world to meet his dad. They do end up finding the same figure that sent the note to King, whose name is Tarak, though unfortunately, he isn't his dad. However, Tarak is one of the people in a village of Titan Hunters, witches who, as the name suggests, hunt titans. Later in the episode, Luz and Hooty meet the leader of the titan hunters, Bill. When Bill describes what a titan is, they realize that King is a titan, and that he is in big trouble.
They go to tell King that he is in danger, but when Bill finds out that King is a titan he sends a bird phone to tell Tarak about it and King gets taken to a ceremony where Bill almost kills him with a dagger. Luz and Hooty stop them before they could do that though and they run away. King gets enraged by this and says that the titan trappers weren't gonna hurt him. He also says that they "get him", and that they know how it feels to be left behind, and he also says that he knows that Luz is gonna go back to the human realm eventually, and that he is preparing for a life with them. Luz however tells King that he's a titan, and obviously, King is shocked by this revelation. The titan trappers eventually catch up to them but they end up escaping and destroying the way through. And the episode ends.
So this episode did a good job of concluding King's arc of self-discovery and wrapping it up. I like how King knows that Luz is going to leave the demon realm one day and go back to her mom, and that he's going to not be able to see her again, and King does care about Luz like an older sister so this would hit for him, and that the Titan Trappers would be his next family after Luz when she leaves. That gives more depth to King and I like that.
So, King is my favorite character in The Owl House. He's funny, he's cute, and his arc in the second season was great. There are other things I could talk about here, such as episode 19, but this post has gone on for long enough. Anyways, this is why I love King, so...bye.

wait can you elaborate more on the lumity thing? i don't know anything about that show or fandom, i'm just nosy lol
Please do ask me this shit, I love to bitch! So Lumity is the canon ship between Luz Noceda and Amity Blight.
Tumblr media
Luz (right) is canonically bisexual, and has expressed attraction to both men and women in the show. Amity is a canon lesbian.
I actually really enjoyed the ship, until it became canon. Then, it felt like Amity was reduced to a Luz Simp with no plot relevance, when she was one of my favorite characters beforehand. Since she basically became the deuteragonist of the show once they got together, it was really noticeable that the writers didn't really do anything with her?
I'll give the show the benefit of the doubt here. I imagine it'd be hard to write Amity plotlines if you didn't know you could get the ship made canon ahead of time, and plotlines centered around her could have been scrapped. But I dislike that she was in so many episodes, but very few episodes had her NEED to be there for the plot to work. In other words, she fails the Sexy Lamp test a lot of the time.
That being said, it doesn't excuse how fucking annoying the fandom got around the ship.
After Lumity's first kiss, but before they got together, the episode Hunting Palisman aired. In it, Luz spends prolonged time with an antagonist character, Hunter. The two of them were onscreen together before, but it lasted only a couple of minutes.
Tumblr media
(I don't care what antis say, this counts as a canon ship tease in my book.)
The two of them had a fantastic, back-and-forth dynamic, that basically made Hunter a fan-favorite character after this episode.
However, diehard Lumity shippers were quick to declare the two siblings, despite the two of them meeting twice, and actually talking once. They share no parental figures at this point.
Many of them say its "Lesbophobic" to ship anything other than Lumity. Despite, you know. Luz being canon Bi. and expressing attraction to men in show.
Then, the Season 3 episode Thanks to them airs.
And we get Luz's mother making an offhand, comedic remark about having six kids.
Antis used this line to claim Lunter were "canon siblings" at this point, but... SIX KIDS MEANS THAT ONE OF THE KIDS IS AMITY. If that line makes Lunter incest, it also makes Lumity incest. I don't make the rules. Shippers will nitpick evidence to harass the 'rival' ship, expect it isn't a rival ship at all since 99% of the fandom is obsessed with Lumity and Lumity is canon. What are the 5 people that prefer Lunter going to do? Honestly.
Then, a voice actor does this.
Tumblr media
Which I felt was really in bad taste, because it caused fandom harassment. Word of God from authors is annoying enough, but now fucking voice actors decide what is "canon" and therefore okay to harass others over? Zeno has no control over the writing of the show, his opinion does not reflect the intent of the creator.
It felt like a massive overstep of fandom-author boundaries.
The show ended with Hunter not moving in with Luz's mother, or Luz's adopted mother, but another character.
Canon siblings my ASS.
(that being said, HC what you like!)

Kinda working on an au cuz i keep procrastinating on animatic and my life...
Tap for better quality, and some details of au are under the cut (just me rumbling my ideas)
Hunter is not a grimwalker here (still no magic)
He comes from family of wild witches, who were disposed of by belos's orders. But he as a kid got saved by the previous golden guard
Stuff happened, belos had another episode of cain's syndrome, no gg again
I haven't decided yet how hunter was taken in by emperor or even if hunter is his real name, but he still becomes gg later and there's no new grimwalker, for now... (let's say belos couldn't find some ingredients)
Darius here is on full dad mode already from time he knew his mentor rescued some kind against orders
However Hunter is so reckless and not so loyal, when he finally finds out bits of truth about his family, belos and gg (from darius... maybe lilith? I haven't really thought about her role) well, the boy is ready to oppose belos
Oh yea belos did make hunter do dirty job like getting rid of... rebelious witches. Yep, not only palismen suffer here by getting their souls eaten (but no belos doesn't eat witches... that would be too much...)
Good thing later (after several mental breakdowns) it comes in handy, like emperor himself points out great additions to the opposition you just need to fake some deaths
Also good news is that belos doesn't see hunter here as "a tryout for better version of his brother who inevitably will betray him or smth", right? Belos is still horrible to him tho. Difference is that Hunter isn't so isolated and has experience with normal human witch interactions, but no worries he is still traumatized cuz that was in no way a healthy environment for child or teen, or anybody really
Oh btw for this job hunter uses mask (grim) made by abomination magic (taught to him by coven head himself with the help of his stuff at first, later flapjack).
I want to give him a dog. Or at least something close to a dog. Wait how did you guess i'm a dog person? Anyway, he calls himself Grim, because y'know demon which appears as ghosty black hound and pordends death
It's 4 am for me when i'm writing this btw
Collector prob knows that hunter is against belos here but they think it's too entertaining so they don't tell him (i mean i love watching my friends trying to figure stuff out it's probably the same). Idk about this
No ships planned except canon ones, actually most events happen like in canon but hunter meets flapjack earlier, and resistance is pretty huge already but they're laying low, okay all episodes with hunter diverge, like hunting palismen, eclipse lake, any sport in the storm and hollow mind
Yep, sibling dynamic with luz, frienemies with amity (but less angst cuz eclipse lake went different) , friends with willow, gus, skara and viney, prank buddies with twins. Grim! Hunter actually trusts owl house residents except hooty, and knows them better, but he just can't leave the emperor's coven yet because plans
Of course he fucks up somewhere and now belos suspects him. Then hollow mind happens. And if there's nothing to lose it's a great opportunity to mess with emperor's mind from inside. Hunter almost dies in the process because of course he does. That's actually the main point of this au. How much you can hurt someone in their mindspace. (The second point is wordplay on grim/grimm/grimwalker)
I really like how characters use their stuff to just attack physically like guys you can cast a fireball but you punch them with a stick? So hunter's artifical stuff also can become sharp, he deserves a knife
Fyi i came up with this au while listening to all eyes on you by smash into pieces
Basically i wanted sassy hunter with support system going against belos while giving him smth new.

Thoughts During TOH 3x01 Thank to Them
Alright, here we go. Let’s do this. Final season of the Owl House.
Man, the first six minutes are so bittersweet. All the adventures we would have had. But honestly, Dana and crew made the most of that intro holy cow.
It’s really cute that they were all trying to learn Spanish. Amity referencing the top student star. Ha.
Finding that little box was a little quick but I’m not gonna hold that against them.
Luz, baby, you really are too hard on yourself.
Luz being like “mom” and Camila not understanding that Luz is trying to warn her about something in the road actually reminds me of something that happened with me and my mom. We were trying to decide what to cook for dinner for a party. I saw a deer in the road and didn’t want to freak Mom out so I very calmly was like “Deer.” Mom didn’t get it and replied “I don’t think that would be a good idea for this.” And so more emphatically I said “No, Mom, deer,” and she finally saw it and hit the brakes.
….Anyway, back to the show.
Hunter has gotten really good at sewing. And wolves are cool.
Finding a character your relate to in an effort to try and sort your own stuff out? Say it isn’t so.
Camila is such a good mom, y’all. I’m crying. She loves Luz so much. Every scene with them hits so hard, why are they so good?! Frick me.
Willow is so supportive of her man lol.
Belos goop!
I never knew to fear giraffes until now.
Oh hey, Grey Griffin Goth Kid. Which flag are their nails painted for? Vee seems smitten.
The photo album of adventures we could have had. Sigh….. Last time I’ll bring it up I promise.
Oh? A little magic in those glyphs?
Oh, Hunter… we know you’re not crazy.
“You’re family now.” Aw, sweetie, don’t cry. Luz and Hunter’s sibling dynamic is all I ever wanted.
Nerd bros.
Uh, Camila? Got something to share with the class?
Luz baby… You couldn’t have known. I mean, the audience knew… but you couldn’t have.
Oh god everyone looks so cute!
Ah! Man! No! Not possession!
Oh. Hi. Jacob.
Oh, Goth Kid! (Do they have a name?)“Boo! Just lie to me!”
Evelyn? Interesting. Sounds like a Clawthorne.
“Sounds like big bro got a hot witch girlfriend and little bro got upset, but that’s just me.” Facts.
No! Belos is possessing him!
Man, she’s been making video diaries since she was a kid.
Awww no! The Azura books were something her dad left for her!!!! No! Don’t make me cry!
I’m gonna be honest, I completely forgot about the cut on his finger.
Oh! Interesting. Titan Blood = Able to do Glyphs.
Not gonna lie, Hunter looks dope.
Yooooo! The animation just got a boost! So smooth!
Leave Flapjack alone!
So… can Hunter not swim or….?
Yo are we actually going back now!!?
Man I saw the theories but I really hoped Flapjack wouldn’t die man.
“Sit up slowly, baby.” Aw Camila, why are you so good?
Of course they don’t blame Luz.
Camila is really coming with us? Oh man. I’m so excited for that.
“We’ll be back after we get some revenge.” Oh my god I love her.
Aw, the callback.
Man that was a lot. I’m still really processing all this but… man I’m so glad this show is back. I think the next one isn’t airing until 2023? But regardless, just having this was phenomenal.
Dana? Crew? You guys did amazing! Can’t wait to see more.

Okay but hear me out.
That AU where Hunter was lost into the human realm as a baby and Camilla finds him and raises him with Luz is so interesting to me. Like they already have a sibling dynamic but it would be even more so. Especially since he would learn Spanish so when they get to the demon realm I can imagine them starting a fight in English and progressing into a loud fight only in Spanish and Eda and King just standing off to the side like "what is going on?"
ALSO I have ideas about how Hunter's story would progress in this AU for anyone to take if they're writing fanfic about this just give me some credit and send me a link.
Hunter finally learns he came from the demon realm and Eda starts trying to tech him magic but he's kind of heartbroken he can't do it because he's been different his whole life and once he finds out what he's supposed to be able to do he still can't do it right. Enter Luz and cheering him up with glyph magic and they find glyphs together.
(Eda also makes a comment about never seeing his eye color before. Foreshadowing)
Hunter makes friends with Edric, Emira and Viney as well as Liz's friends and enrolls in the potions track at Hexside.
When Luz fights Belos the first time, Hunter is there too, and Belos tells him who he is. He tells him he's a grimwalker, he'd recognize his face anywhere, and tries to get him to join the coven and become the golden guard which he refuses.
Afterwards when all is safe, Hunter tells Eda and Lilith about him grimwalker and wondering what it is and they tell him they'll do some research for him. They find a book explaining it and Eda decides it would cause some big emotional damage and she wants to protect her child.
Soon enough Hunter finds it and starts going into a panic attack/shock, similar to the end of hollow mind. Eda and Luz find him in the living room and ask what's up before he mutters something like "I'm not real." And runs off into the woods, Luz is like "Eda, wtf?" So Eda explains what a grimwalker is and Luz gets kinda mad she didn't tell them.
Hunter has just kept running through the woods until he stumbles upon the bat queen and her little colony of abandoned palismen (Palismen wood is an ingredient in grimwalkers so they hit it off). They have a little heart to heart and enter Flapjack! Eda finds him and apologizes, they have a little moment and Flapjack becomes his palismen much to Hunter's shock.
Time skip but at some point Hunter is kidnapped by the Emperor's coven and forced to become the golden guard or else Belos will go after Luz and the owl house. Hunter forces Flapjack to go live at the owl house until he figures a way out, but Flapjack visits him anyways. Eventually Luz corners him in town and he has to explain where he's been, why he's been gone, what the hell he thinks he's doing, and why he can't go back. At this point he's kind of become friends with Darius, Raine and Eberwolf so they let him in on the rebellion.
On some other mission where he encounters Luz and her friends, Luz gets really worried for him because he's got some lovely eye bags and a chip in his ear, probably some other injuries from Belos and a coven brand (much to his distaste) but he's still like "I'm fine, I'm in on a rebellion, I get info from Belos and relay it back to the rebels, I'm a spy, it's all good." But it's not all good our boy is developing some emotional damage from Belos' manipulation.
Soon enough when Belos has one of his goopy mud tantrums and Hunter is like "if you let me try to help-" but he gets pretty badly injured. When Darius checks on him he nearly passes out while he's trying to take care of some of his injuries. Raine and Darius decide to take him to the Owl House because they decide he is done being a little spy, it's too dangerous and he's a literal child.
It's the middle of the night when Hunter is dropped off so Eda takes care of him and patches him up. In the morning Luz finds him brooding or whatever and they have a moment.
Hunter keeps his gloves on because he doesn't want to look at the scars he received from Belos or his coven brand (The dude never takes his gloves off and I'm making a reason for it). He also now has his famous scar on his cheek. He is also reunited with flapjack and now you can't separate them, don't even try.
That's all I have for now but lmk your thoughts and ideas of his involvements in certain episodes.

Hello!!!
For the TOH ask game: 5, 8, 11, 16 ✨
(Here is the ask game for those who want to follow and ask!)
Omg thank you!!
5.) Favorite platonic relationship?
I think personally it comes down to three, but I'll choose Collector and King for now. I just feel like there's this sibling energy that makes me feel warm inside seeing them be around one another in the aftermath before timeskip. I know we don't see as much of Collector as we did of King through the show, but those two definitely have some kind of bond that just hits different for me. Lilith and Hooty are tied though for that. I love both of their dynamic (King & Collector and Lilith & Hooty's)
8.) Any headcanons? If so, which are your favorite?
Oh that's kinda tough because I do have a lot of thoughts but on the spot its hard to list. I'll give a few, perhaps off the top of my head.
Willow can heal Hunter with plant magic
I definitely think the curse in some way that affects Eda and Lilith is connected to The Titan. Harpy forms. Their eyes are like his, not saying that they ARE Titans but there's got to be some adjacent thing. Wtf is with those eyes.
Somehow like Amity's nickname "Mittens" Luz gets coined with the name "Gloves" because she has a habit of misplacing them when it's cold.
Darius's pailsman is his hair goop.
Amity is allergic to human realm cats.
Vee and Masha met at camp when Vee was "Luz" however while at camp Masha suffered with insomnia and would frequent sneak out. Vee however would also find herself in this situation and in that meet up, she'd be the form we see her as in s3 and not in the fake Luz. Her keeping that a secret in a sense that Masha only finds Vee at night when they sneak out, but they can never find her in the daytime because she's imitating Luz. Does that make sense? Idk. Masha knew Vee at camp, not just as Luz. They can't remember correctly because it was dark and sleep deprivation.
I also think there could be a version of a Caleb's diary at the historical society
11.) Any songs from the soundtrack that stick out to you?
The ending theme. Both the timeskip outro and the main ending theme. I have the ep end theme as my ringtone to my phone, but the finale's ending dude... That made me cry. All the feelings.
16.) Common theory that you disagree with?
I don't really have an answer for this. I've thought about this hard, but I think if anything it'd be the whole "TOH needs to be rebooted right now!!" or "Disney should do something with the IP"
I don't think so. I heavily disagree with everything having to do with Disney carrying the brand forward and pray that they don't. I think TOH ended fine, and as much as I'd love for a continuation or spin off-- I do not want it if Dana is not a part of the process. If she and the other lovely creators aren't apart of that process, then I literally do not care. It's Dana or nothing for me. TOH ended in a spot that was fine, and I wish it had a full season, but I don't want anything more from it if Dana isn't on the team. Including the fact that I still do have so many questions for the story. There IS a lot still to be done if she wants it, and I think if anything Disney should just give her the ip (damn laws!!) but if Dana isn't creating it then its meh. It's not TOH.

My favorite thanks to them moments (part 2)(cause this episode is to good to not)
Tumblr media
Willow in this episode 🤣💕
Like she's always been seen as the more responsible one but this makes her so third dimensional and I love it!! Amity and vee are just like "you are not going out in public like that" but willow and Gus are all here for it, and oop is that some huntlow I see 🤨🤭 this gives friend group vibes, and Wich they are but it's not always shown like this. it's great to see them being actual teenagers.
Tumblr media
I love amity I swear!!!!!But you can't deny it's funny when she falls. 😂
This little montage is just cute, also you can't blame amity here she used to work at a library, she usually knows what she's doing and is a natural in scenarios like this but human library's are things she's not so used to.
Tumblr media
I think Gus has dropped his mission on reconnecting with giraffes.🦒
It's funny how they're all terrified of going to see the giraffes, it's also sweet to see all of them remembering they're families when seeing a dad with his family in the distance it's something they all(except vee) relate to. Gus and his dad willow and her dads and then of course amity with her dad and siblings, And any/all moments like that hit my heart ❤️
Tumblr media
Bye bye Jacob!!! Hello Masha!!! (I thinks that's they're name right?)
Oh vee you adorable ball of cuteness!!!! You just faced a giraffe you got this!! Also another non-binary character woooooo!!! Vee is adorable and I really hope these two connect more off screen.
Tumblr media

Why.........just.....*sniff*.*sniff*... Get my owl family together please 🥺 ok so like what do you think luz's palisman is going to be, I've seen theories of it being a bird, bat, snake, and otter. For me it's between bat and snake. Also the glyph doing something had me very intrigued the first time around.
Tumblr media
Found family is one of my favorite Troupes.
If you haven't already guessed from the way I freak out over Luz, Eda and king I love found families. Now I see hunters found family being mainly with Darius, of course with his sibling dynamic with Luz and Gus, and a bit of a connection with Eda and Raine. But this is amazing, hunter finally has a family that will only grow with time and it's too sweet for my heart ❤️🥺
Tumblr media
Is that a Garfield mug or just me 🤔
Y'know with these sorta scenes I usually feel a whole lot of second hand embarrassment, but in this I didn't instead I found it quit entertaining. Camila having a fandom she was in just like Luz does, along with a whole closet filled with merch, cosplays, etc. Is adorable and I just enjoyed her reaction here.😌
Tumblr media
Sarah Nicole-Robles I am honered to share a name with you.
Idk why but the way she just says "wow" just felt so real. And the whole video entry had me scared of what Luz was planning to do.
Tumblr media
*Sigh* hello Jacob.
I'll admit I was a bit worried when Gus first intervened but my worries were quickly brushed aside. Also Jacob how do you know about them were you stalking them! I mean like it's Halloween filled with many others doing similar things but you decide to specifically target this child? Hmmmmmm suspicious. Ah well the cops got him anyway. 😌
Tumblr media
Evelyn.....really.?
Ok so my personal headcanons where pretty correct on the Wittabane backstory l, but it's still nice to see it be shown. Now if anyone doubted that Caleb's lover wasn't an ancestor of Eda da and Lilith, your wrong. It doesn't flat out say it but it's obvious. Evelyn,Edalyn they changed two letters, that isnt enough? how about the similarities in carving, and or birds huh. Hello again Masha nice to see you, that last line of yours has you on belos's list though.

Alright, as alluded to yesterday, my wife and I are now fully caught up on The Owl House, and...okay, I need to be honest.  If you had asked me whether this show would be good or not based entirely on what minimal information I knew before watching, I would have told you there was absolutely no way.  It’s a Tumblr favorite children’s cartoon.  Those universally aren’t as good as they’re made out to be, or are actually that good but inevitably run smack into Discourse.  And at the risk of knocking too loudly on Lucifer’s door, I am stunned to find this show is unbelievably good.
I talked a little bit about season 1, and at the time, mentioned it could be a little heavy handed at times.  I stand by that as a facet of season 1, but season 2 has like...completely sold me.  I can even point the direct episode it happened.  It’s when you meet Eda’s mother.  Having the Owl Beast become this metaphor for disability, how Lilith is shown to also have her damage but how it went unnoticed by her parent because it wasn’t a “visible” problem, the presentation of parental response to this being how do we get rid of it instead of working to understand it and work through what’s difficult.  That one actually impressed me with how well it handled its material.  I won’t say there aren’t moments where it gets a little forced, but by and large season 2 has been much less overt, and has presented a rapidly developing plotline that’s intricate and engaging.
I am loving the complications we’re running into.  Developments happen quick, there’s very little downtime before the next sort of reveal or piece of the puzzle.  While I do at times miss the raw antics episodes, I really respect the dedication to having a story to tell and sticking to it.  Everything feels significant at this point.  My wife and I have been kicking around thoughts all day, about small things we didn’t notice right away, and theories about where stuff is going.  It’s been nice, having something to be this ingrained in as it’s still going.
I once mentioned Lilith as the current favorite.  This remains true, but not as much of a dominant position as you might expect.  This is one of those shows, where I...don’t have a character I dislike.  Pretty much everyone introduced is interesting in some way or another, and I’m surprised there hasn’t been someone I’m disinterested in.  I will say that, if there’s any problem I do take, it’s that they only kept Lilith around for like three episodes before she left Hooty, and that feels not okay.  I wanted more Lulu and Hootsifer, and...okay, I did get that dynamic back, but still.
Interactions really sell a lot of them.  I love every dynamic Eda has with everyone.  She’s a good mom to Luz and King, her sibling dynamic with Lilith is hilarious, and while I was worried about the idea of introducing a love interest in Raine, they’re actually adorable and I love them.  Darius’ connection to Hunter is adorable.  Luz and Amity are goddamn precious, I love them.  Gus and Willow are great as friends.  There’s just a lot of good stuff going on.
As an antagonist, Belos is interesting, because I’m still not 100% clear on his motivation.  On the one hand, he’s very direct.  We’ve seen inner Belos, and there is no subtlety here: he’s just out for blood, and to destroy magic and everyone living on the titan.  They keep hinting at more details behind it all, and how he got here, but it really always seems to loop back to he’s just a liar and wants genocide.  I expected to be a bit bored of him after inner Belos revealed there’s nothing particularly complex, but I dunno, I’m still interested in what they’re setting up in his history.
And of course, we now have Collector.  Vibes of Dwarf in a Flask with this kid.  I like his deal.  I don’t necessarily know what it is, but I have my theories.  He mentioned King looks like the guy who sealed him away, and those Titan Trappers talked about how Collector would be released if the Titans were all killed, but they had the same mirror and it was broken, which to me implies that Titans can release Collector and that he was released once before, and the person who sealed him was one of the Trappers, not the current corpse they’re living on.  Speculative, sure, but the series seems to encourage this kind of stuff.
I know the series is wrapping up, with my understanding being two more longer episodes and a movie.  Which is a bit sad, but like...that’s also kind of exciting.  I’m looking forward to keeping up with this one.  And am also glad I can safely explore the tags without spoilers, so apologies to everyone who starts seeing fanart for the show soon, I am Going Through It.

Ooo wait didn't see the ask game
Uhhh
Hunter?
Neo. Do you realize the floodgates you have just opened?
LUZ! LUZ LUZ LUZ LUZ LUZ!!! Oh my GOD I love his dynamic with Luz. That's his little sister right there! Who saved him from his uncle and helped him realize he was being abused and got him out! I mean of course the others helped as well, but Luz was the one to start him down that path. She was the first one to reach out and connect with him, the first one to actually look at the person beneath the mask. She never stopped trying to reach him and it paid off! And then he turned around to support her when she needed it!
Flapjack. No I am not crying, yes I am okay, shut up. It's just- that was his first real friend. I mean, Flapjack was the first one that Hunter truly trusted, even before he really trusted Luz! Flapjack was just so unconditionally loving towards Hunter, which he really, really needed. Flapjack understood Hunter the best, probably because they shared some sort of mental link. I mean, Flapjack was basically his emotional support animal. And fucking... I just... his death made me not okay.
I'm gonna go with Darius for this one, although my 3 and 4 are basically interchangeable. I mean, I really just love parental dynamics. Enemy to caretaker is a personal favorite trope of mine, I really wish I knew more examples of it. They got so little screentime together and yet I was instantly hooked. Hunter just needs to many parental figures and I love how Darius stepped up to be one of the first. His reaction to finding out Hunter was in the emperor's mind was adorable. I just really like grumpy older men who slowly become attached to a child against their will, okay?
Gus. I think their friendship is adorable. People call them brothers, but honestly I don't really see it? They're really good friends for sure, and they're part of one another's found family, but they're not siblings. Not like him and Luz. I think the episode they had together really was just so sweet. The creators did such a fantastic job of demonstrating both of their traumas and expanding on it. Especially for Gus, who got relegated to the background more often than not. I just think it's so cute how they always have one another's back.
Willow, of course it's gonna be Willow. Gonna be honest with you? Not a huge fan of Huntlow. It's a cute ship, a really cute ship and I'm honestly not sure why I don't like it more than I do, I mean it almost feels tailor-made to suit my tastes. But Idk. Maybe it's because I saw someone headcanoning Hunter as aroace and I latched onto that and refuse to let go. I really love their friendship though. I think "Any Sport in a Storm" is really really cute. And I think their personalities work really well together. I just don't think that it needs to be romantic. Again, no actual problem with the ship, it's cute and I do enjoy the occasional fanart. But overall, it just feels kinda meh to me.

this ask is prompting you to ramble to your heart's content about toh
omg tysm anon this means so much i definitely didn't start crying when i read this nope
btw obligatory warning for season 2 spoilers!!
SO. the owl house.
first off, i'm gonna talk about Luz + the main gang bc i absolutely love them. so you have Luz, who's insane but like. in a lovable way. like if i knew her irl i would probably be terrified of her but she's also really nice and stuff!! just like. no self preservation instinct. anyway she's unhinged but very fun !
then Eda, aka the Owl Lady, aka wine aunt extraordinaire. she's very much like Luz except i would actually trust her with my life and she's a sweetheart and i want her to adopt me so fucking bad. also she's cursed and that's kinda fun. sometimes. actually it isn't but she sure looks cool when she's in her owl/monster/beast/evil form-
Hooty (i. spelled that as hotty at first and am extremely ashamed) and King are the first siblings that Luz obtains. Hooty (oh my FUCKING god why do i keep calling him hotty) is obnoxious and can take off his own skin, which is horrific, and King is a very good boy. certified munchkin. i wanna pet him.
then there's everyone at school who i love So Much, Gus is my child and Willow is so fucking badass and Amity is girlfriend™ (just not at first). honorable mention for Principal Bump because he will forever be the best magical school principal and i wanna give him a hug
i really kinda thought the show was boring for the majority of the first season, but holy fuck did it deliver around ep16-ish. like everything starts to come together, we get a main villain (Belos), a main quest (getting the portal back), and more stuff!! it's just really awesome, it became one of my favorite series in just two episodes.
i really love how Eda's sister (her name has currently been forgotten lol) became friends with Hooty, they got such a nice friendship after everyone kinda hated Hooty and it made me really happy.
THEN!!!! ENTER HUNTER (aka my favorite fucking character of all time currently). just. omg. Zuko but Even More Traumatized (probably. maybe). it's so hard to tell what he's thinking, especially when he's first introduced. he's really cheerful and....well, not friendly, but he's very confident and boisterous, and clearly believes that he's a good person/on the right side. on the other hand, even in his first few episodes it's really obvious he's uh. not that mentally healthy. (like in the scenes where he starts infodumping about something he's read and then just kinda. cuts himself off. that was so relatable it made me sad every time hgfdfghjhgf)
and then the big reveal about him in s2e16, oh my god. i called a lot of the major plot twists but the fact that he's literally a fucking clone of Belos's probably-brother??? imagine how mentally fucked up finding that out would make you. he held himself together Surprisingly Well considering his entire life was shattered in like. less than an hour and he realized he was going to fucking die if he ever saw his uncle again. like. just imagine. he's already been abused so much (personal hc of mine that Belos gave him those scars) and he's already terrified of Belos, but he doesn't really think Belos is going to kill him. maybe hurt him, maybe demote him or something else bad but he doesn't think he's going to die and then he finds out that literally all oF HIS PREDECESSORS WERE MURDERED BY BELOS???? AND THAT HE WAS JUST SOMETHING THAT COULD BE THROWN AWAY IF HE MESSED UP OR DID ANYTHING BAD??????? CMON BRO THAT'S A-TIER WRITING
and his dynamic with the rest of the characters is so great, i love how he and Luz always bicker with each other but then work together, and Amity being able to relate to him and trying to make him feel better at the lake/titan blood mine and him and Willow and Gus are just like siblings they're so adorable. Gus helping him with his panic attack is one of my favorite scenes in any show i've ever watched and i am not kidding about that. they're just so ugh. showing him that he can be loved and it's not his fault and hhhaahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaa *loud screeching*
the whole day of unity thing was absolutely incredible, i love how Darius and animal coven dude and Raine were actually trying to stop the day of unity before the mcs even really knew how big of a deal it was, and i love that you can't tell that Darius and animal dude were on the good side until wayyyyy after Raine's assumedly captured by them. it's really good writing. (also Darius is Hunter's Dad™. i do and will not take criticism on this.)
btw don't even get me started on Raine istfg- they make me so incredibly happy. just. the fact that they're so badass and wonderful and Definitely not in love with Eda and their magic is so cool and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. seeing a canon nb character is something that gives me a lot of courage, just the way that everyone respects their pronouns and is totally chill about it makes me so incredibly happy (especially in the last few days. hah.) i need to see more of Raine, especially after that finale bc oh god what if they're dead or something?????? i'm so scared
aLSO ALSO!!!! the Collector is baby. i would adopt him (them?) in 2.0 seconds if i could. he deserves to be happy and have friends and not be betrayed by everyone who he helps. i honestly feel super bad for him, he's just a lil god kid who wants to play w ppl :((( why is everyone afraid of himmm
the season two finale killed me btw. i'm dead. deceased. writing this from my coffin. like wtf are they gonna do now that Raine (and everyone else) is dead/dying and Eda doesn't have an arm and the kids are both stuck in the human world and Extremely traumatized (looking at you Hunter) and King's stuck with the Collector (who he betrayed and who is probably not gonna be very happy about that)???? i'm going insane. legitimately when i finished i just kinda closed my computer and said "oh my god" out loud. i cannot handle this i'm so scared omg
that being said i really want to see the gang's reaction to the human world. i wanna see Gus obsessing over paperclips again :( i feel like there's so much potential for the gang to all be adopted by Luz's mom and i am HERE for it. Hunter needs a mom asap
ok. wow this got long-
i think i'm done for now sooo. yeah. thank you so much for letting me do this anon hfdfghjhgfdsdfg i literally love you (/p)

» FEATURED WANTED AD
Luz Noceda from The Owl House
THE PERSON that Hunter ultimately has to thank for, though he doesn't know how.
Back when he was still a Golden Guard, he saw her as "the human" that lived on the Boiling Isles. But she was the first person he was able to connect to at all outside of the castle for the longest time - even if more times than anything they annoyed each other more than anything else. It was because of her that he messed up; but it was because of her he got Flapjack, and saw through Belos's ways.
I also just generally enjoy the sibling dynamic they got going on SO I would really love seeing a Luz here! I'm sure Eda and King would love to have her as well, and it'd be fun drama because I don't think any of them want to burden Eda with all the season 2 knowledge haha. HELP THESE KIDS-
Written & requested by DREAM.

Some headcanons for Hunter's dynamic with the rest of the Bad Girl Coven when he joins because OF COURSE he will:
(he's going to join the found family. he's going to. he will. he is going to be loved and cherished and valued and shown real affection and *starts crying*) - He has a very brother-and-sister vibe with Luz. They love each other, he's eternally grateful to her, they love studying wild magic together, and he loves learning about glyphs, but they ALWAYS do the most to bug the other. Luz teases Hunter and playfully pokes him to get a reaction and she's always successful, but THEN he sees how Luz is around Amity and. hehe. Suddenly he has fodder for playful teasing revenge.
- Also hugs. He needs hugs and Luz loves giving hugs and yes. them. hugging. (please let him be hugged.) - He and Amity. just. Understand each other. They will sit in the living room of the Owl House in silence and just Vibe for hours, Amity reading Azura and Hunter reading texts on wild magic, and occasionally they will make Understanding Eye Contact. On the flip side, they also love to gush about their respective interests to the other, and they always listen to what the other has to say.
- Amity also helps Hunter do his research in the library and they make up some bs about Important Emperor's Coven Business in order to access all those Restricted Books on Things The Emperor Doesn't Want You To Know, and it becomes an inside joke with them, where they act out more and more outlandish reasons in order to get to the books to each other, while everyone else looks on with varying degrees of amusement, confusion, and concern.
- They also talk about family issues. It's cathartic. Amity realises that Hunter never got Supportive Older Siblings and decides (maybe? ill-advisedly) to introduce him to Emira and Edric. This goes about as well as you would expect. But at the end of that meet up, Hunter just. can't stop smiling. Amity thinks that maybe this wasn't such a bad decision after all. - Gus can't stop draping himself all over Hunter. With finger guns, side hugs, etc, and Gus' endless stream-of-consciousness talking style, Gus just. drags Hunter everywhere because "Oh wow! It's another guy in the Bad Girl Coven! We're bros now. We are officially bros."
- Gus tries to act all cool around Hunter in order to impress him, which fools nobody, but Hunter is just kinda overwhelmed by Gus' enthusiasm and also he's once again amazed he has Yet Another Friend that he just. goes along with it. - He and Willow are besties. yes. At first, he's kinda terrified of her because of her power and Pure Feral Energy, but quickly realises she's really warm the rest of the time.
- Willow is very affectionate around Hunter and Hunter is just. internally sobbing like "oh my god you're so sweet what did I do to deserve this"
- Hunter always listens to Willow gush about her plants and he takes Very Detailed Notes because this stuff is helpful to his research (and also he thinks Willow is Very Cool) - Eda is soo incredibly nice to him and supportive of his rebellion and at first he's kinda afraid of her because he has Trauma but quickly realises Eda is absolutely awesome
- She encourages him to embrace his inner desire to Disobey The Emperor and do Illegal Things and after a while she is 100% successful
- She gives him the love and affection he has so desperately been lacking and the first time she praises him he bursts into tears. This is followed by a hug from Eda. It's very sweet.
- Hunter is worried Eda will kick him out when she finds out who he is but she's like. "Kid. You're fine. I literally housed and cared for my estranged sister who cursed me as children. What matters is that you've rebelled, and you deserve to be cared for because Belos is an abusive asshole."
- Cue Hunter crying once again
- Yeah Eda just adopts Hunter as one of her children. Hunter is shocked but incredibly grateful and there are a lot of tears.
- When he meets Lilith again, at first Lilith is like. "Ugh. It's the young whippersnapper. Little brat." but very quickly she realizes "Oh wow. This is a literal child. This is a literal actual child who is heavily traumatized. I am so sorry, I am so glad you're safe, come on let's do some illegal research together I have soooo much info on what you're looking for, you won't even begin to believe it" Anyways please let this poor child be loved he needs it

Every week, The Owl House just completely blows my mind. You expect one thing and then it goes the other way.
Tumblr media
So the Day of Unity is in fact uniting the realms. I wonder if this is Connecticut?
Tumblr media
What are you, Belos!? Also you're an Uncle!?
Tumblr media
Eda is such a mom. She's taking Luz to school and also helping out in the Palisman adoption day.
Tumblr media
I was really looking forward to seeing what Amity's Palisman would be and was bummed when she wasn't here. I'm guessing mom didn't like her hair color. They're not gonna change it back right? Right!?
Tumblr media
Seeing Luz panic about what her future holds is so relatable! We know she wants to go home to her mom, but what else does she want to do? On the Boiling Isles, she's a witch, her dream, in the human realm, she's just plain old Luz. Many, myself included, speculated that Luz would just stay on the Isles and travel back and forth to visit her mom if she has a portal. Now, I'm not sure what Luz will do.
Tumblr media
Luz and Golden Guard's (Hunter) dynamic was great this episode! Last we saw them together, they were enemies, now they have this sibling like relationship between them as well as a mutual respect for the other. Every time Luz interacts with a character, she changes their lives. Mostly for the better, but a few for the worse. Hopefully we see Hunter as the former.
Tumblr media
So Lilith wasn't the only one in the Emperor's Coven who thought that Hunter was a brat. Although while Lilith may have found him annoying, Kikimora hates him to the point of murder. For being close with Belos, for not being as powerful as he seems? Whatever the case, it was great seeing Kiki return and for her to actually do something villainous for a change. I really want to see her fight at full strength though.
Tumblr media
He's just a sensitive nerd like the rest of us. The way this show writes its characters is fantastic. Apparently, whatever happened to Belos, was done so by wild magic. Now we know why he's so strict on the whole one magic rule. On the other hand, Hunter wants to learn more about wild magic in order to help his uncle. Every time he brings it up however, Belos reprimands him! I guess we know how he got that scar now. So when he finds himself getting excited about Wild Magic, he quickly stops and even pushes away relics related to it.
Tumblr media
I find myself conflicted at the ending of the episode though. Throughout the episode, the cardinal wanders off, sneaks in Luz's bag, is always on her shoulder, frees her from her ropes and is always with her! I just expected it to bond with her. When Hunter got his staff back and was ready to attack Luz, I thought the cardinal might transform into a staff and we'd see Luz vs GG similar to the Eda vs Lilith fights in season 1. Plus, with it being a bird, it'd fit the whole birds associated with Clawthornes that Dana mentioned.
That being said, I also really love that Luz will make her own Palisman like Eda did! Luz is Eda's apprentice first, so Luz will earn her staff the same as Eda did, she mentioned it in the first season. But now that Luz is uncertain about her future, it'll be a while until she's ready to carve. I can't wait for the mother daughter bonding that those two will do when Luz does carve though. Wonder what it'll be.
Tumblr media
Belittled and threatened for failing his mission. We must protect Hunter and his new Palisman! Since Belos has this omnipresence when it comes to his castle, he knows that Hunter has this now right? A question of loyalty will be asked when Hunter is ordered to give it up.

Luz is Eda, Hunter is Lilith, and Amity is Raine?
(I might’ve gotten the parallels wrong- It’s not Amity who’s a parallel to Lilith, it’s HUNTER... And conversely, Amity might actually parallel Raine instead!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you think about it, Luz and Hunter’s whole sibling dynamic is SUCH a parallel to Eda and Lilith’s? But sometimes, it’s like that same relationship, if Eda and Lilith switched places…
Luz and Lilith are both defined by darker, blue color schemes, while Eda and Hunter have a fiery red- And I’ve talked before in the past, how Luz and Lilith have that almost childlike naivete that leads them to believe others sometimes, Luz with people like Adegast, and Lilith with Belos!
They’ve got a youthful curiosity, and a willingness to chew someone out, only to lower their guard as soon as they think that person is doing the right thing, and happily accept them, no questions asked! They have a tendency to be reckless, really struggled with learning, and are more ‘straightforward’ in their willingness to listen to teachers.
Meanwhile, Eda and Hunter have had both their owl motifs, as well as yellow and golden motifs compared a lot- They talk and act similarly, and while Luz and Lilith are proficient with glyphs, Hunter and Eda rely more on their staffs, and seem to be the more physical of their respective sibling pairs. Eda and Hunter were both described as teen prodigies, and are more confident, socially outgoing, and generally playful and mischievous.
Then there’s the straightforward parallels, with how one sibling is serving the Emperor’s Coven, the other is an outlaw… One is isolated and feels obligated to stay in the coven in order to take care of a cursed relative, while the other feels ostracized due to not fitting in with the system, being disappointed by their sibling’s betrayal of their faith, etc. Hunter is two years older than Luz, just as Lilith is two years older than Eda- Yet despite having technical seniority, both are stagnant and inexperienced, and come across as needing to be guided and led by the younger sibling for it.
Tumblr media
With all this in mind, I really have to wonder if… HUNTER is the parallel to Lilith, when for so long, the fandom had made this parallel between Lilith and Amity? Amity is obviously Luz’s parallel in a lot of ways, too… But Amity is a love interest to Luz, while Lilith is a sister to Eda.
         If we go by the sibling vibes that Luz and Hunter have, especially since Luz definitely has a romantic interest in Amity alone, and the story wouldn’t complicate itself with a love triangle… Then yeah, it makes sense that as someone who acts like a sibling to Luz, as someone Luz wants and hopes the best for them, only to be disappointed when they keep choosing the coven, as an actual member;
Then yeah, it’d arguably fit the parallels more, if Luz was Eda, and Hunter was Lilith! But where does that leave Amity? If Luz is Eda, what about Eda’s love interest…?
Tumblr media
That’s right, Raine! And in hindsight, it makes a lot of sense- Raine and Amity had the same mint-green hair, as well as a red color scheme. In Raine’s case, it’s as head of the Bard Coven- Amity might not be a Bard, but she does work with the library and is associated with the witches there, who are undoubtedly bards. Raine and Amity both seem to be nerds with a penchant for the creative arts of words, Amity loves The Good Witch Azura and reading to kids!
They’re both the love interests to Eda and Luz respectively, and both are expected to step up as Coven Heads- Raine successfully did so, while Alador is gearing up Amity to become the next head of the Abomination Coven. And based on that one shot from the trailer of Young Eda, that seems to be from Raine’s perspective…
Tumblr media
It’s implied that Raine was a more consistent, faithful, and healthy presence for Eda post-curse, unlike Gwen or Lilith. If Hunter is Lilith, this makes sense- Hunter is still at a more adversarial position with Luz, the way Lilith was for Eda… But Amity and Luz? Their relationship has smoothed over immensely, which could be a parallel to how Raine was likely closer to Eda than Lilith during those thirty estranged years.

Then, we have Amity becoming more of an independent thinker and rebelling against her parents, and how Raine is apparently being set up to lead their own revolution against Belos- Whereas Hunter has yet to do so (if he even will), and Lilith hadn’t chosen to leave the Emperor’s Coven, having been fired by Belos, and still holds some attachment to her past there.
I know for the longest while we’ve been operating on the idea that Amity and Lilith are parallels towards one another… But with the differences in Luz and Amity’s dynamic being romantic, while Eda and Lilith are sisterly; And how Raine provides a romantic connection to Eda, while Hunter’s is much more like that of an older brother, just as Lilith is a literal older sister to Eda…
Then, I think it legitimately stands to reason that the parallels are Luz-Eda, Hunter-Lilith, and Amity-Raine! If so, I hope we get to see Raine and Amity interact, especially if we go by the idea that Raine’s father was the previous head of the Bard Coven… In which case, Raine would understand Amity’s dilemma, and is someone who actually DID end up choosing the coven over Eda- Unlike Amity, who is improving on the past by sticking with people who actually make her happy.

         And with the general theme of the young generation improving upon the old, with Eda making sure Luz doesn’t have to suffer alone like she did as a child… I think it makes a lot of sense that Raine is an alternate Amity who DID become a Coven Head, and had to cut ties with their girlfriend as a result. And if we go by the idea that Lilith and Hunter are parallels towards one another, then not only is her dislike of him hilarious in retrospect, because of how Hunter could easily remind Lilith of Young Eda, but without the emotional attachment that made Eda bearable;
But with how Lilith obviously has a lot of self-loathing, subconsciously recognizing and seeing herself in Hunter… That’d really contribute to her dislike of him, wouldn’t it? And of course, for all of the parallels, there are still differences- With the older generation, it’s the elder sibling who’s established in Season 1 and goes through a major character arc there… With the love interest being introduced in Season 2.
But with the younger generation, we have the love interest established in Season 1, going through a major character arc; While the elder sibling is introduced in Season 2! This does make me wonder how Raine’s development will turn out, if they low-key parallel Hunter in their own way, themselves… Both likely having actual familial connection to the coven system, in contrast to Amity, whose parents are doing their own thing as leaders of a subsidiary.
Tumblr media
And, if we’re switching things around, with Raine and Hunter having similarities- Might we see Lilith and Amity have those similarities? Except, we kind of already HAVE, and THOSE parallels have been talked about, more than enough… Our first glimpse at Raine suggests that Lilith may have felt like a third wheel between Eda and Raine and resented that. Maybe Amity will also be suspicious of Hunter, albeit for much more justifiable reasons, only to warm over to him… Depending on how Hunter’s arc plays out, of course.

oh? toh characters you say? luz
My favorite thing about them
I don't know if this is neccessarily my favourite thing about her but the first thing that comes to mind is her current struggle to choose between her home world and the Isles. She didn't really have time to properly explain and talk to her mom about the whole situation since the portal door was closing and just promised that she'll stay with her in the hasty moment. But the thing is, Luz has a life in the Boiling Isles too. There's Gus and Willow who are close friends, her girlfriend Amity, Eda as a mother-figure, Lilith who she literally called aunt, King who I suppose would sorta be a sibling to her and personally, I live in the hope that Hunter will end up as a sibling-figure to her too. There's no way she can leave all of this behind and never go back. Best case scenario is that she could switch between the worlds, but even then she has to talk to Camila about this whole thing. I like how right after Yesterday's Lie, they brought up this conflict by having Luz sort of try to project her issue onto Kikimora too.
My least favorite thing about them
Not sure if there's anything I straight up dislike? One thing I can think of rn is that I'd be dissapointed if they didn't come to a conclusion about Luz wanting to learn magic but being unable to use Glyphs in the human world. But considering it got brought up in the Palisman episode, I have hopes they'll go somewhere with that.
My favorite canon relationship
I love Lumity but man the found family dynamic she has with Eda and King Gets Me.
My favorite non-canon relationship
Manifesting the sibling energy between her and Hunter into canon.
The sexuality I headcanon for them
She's canon bi
What I’d do if I could spend the day with them
Honestly the only way I can see myself hang out with this fourteen something year old is as some sort of cool older sibling just going along with whatever she wants to do. Whatever we do we'll go to the mall afterwards and she can pick something nice that I'll buy for her because she deserves it.
Random fact about them I like
I like how the show keeps bringing up that she's a fan of the Azura books in relation to her interest in magic and fanatsy. Girl literally used the fake name Luzura in the recent episode.
