This thought came to me, like, two hours ago but my monke brain can't process stuff without activating the brain worms so here we go:
Out of the three other protagonists in BBTAG (Ruby excluded for obvious reasons), I think Hyde would be one of the best victims to the Curious Cat.
Hear me out (Also spoilers for Volume 9)
First of all, what is CC's objective? Find a human body to possess and leave the Ever After. Simple.
But it's shown throughout the volume that he can't possess just anyone, they need to be without drive, with a weak will, "empty".
Now comes my argument. First on why the others wouldn't work.
First is the easiest to argue. Yu Narukami is the worst possible choice and probably the best equipped to go against the Cat, solely because seeing through the lies of others, accepting the truth and yourself and, most of all, staying true to yourself, is his whole shtick. He already had his character arc. He's already confident and happy with himself. Literally nothing the Ever After or the Cat could offer would tempt him.
Now, this is where I fumble the bag a bit because I don't know almost shit about Blazblue. In fact, I'd be thankful if someone were to prove me wrong or right, but I think Ragna wouldn't fall for the Cat's antics specifically because he comes from a world where Hazama exists, or, more importantly, there is already too many people after him already. That, and Ragna is an adult who, even though he has his issues, isn't as deep in the rabbit hole of vengeance as Neo was.
Now, Hyde. First, let me defend the boy by saying he wouldn't be an easy victim that would be possessed from day one. He, like Ragna, has a lot of people after his ass, and even though he is far nicer and naive than the Bloodedge, he isn't stupid.
The difference is that Hyde can be worn down rather easily.
From the very first time his character is introduced, Hyde makes it very clear he doesn't want any in the supernatural biz. He wants to be normal, he wants to be the mundane teenager who lives a mundane life. His whole reason for helping Linne, Vatista and so on, and being involved with the Hollow Night is that he is a genuinely good person with an incredible amount of bad luck. The Cat wouldn't even need to do much, the Ever After is a place that would naturally grate him, being the too foreign, to mystical place that loves prodding at people's wounds. Hell, the Herbalist could (unintentionally) break his spirit depending on the state he finds Hyde in, just with that weird fog thing he does.
Hyde yearns for the mundane, for stability, and slowly this is being ripped from him.
This is the perfect argument, "You want to be what you can never return to.", it's just a step to the side from Ruby's "I don't want to be me anymore." conclusion.
Anyways, what do y'all think
