The fear of never knowing what I want career wise cause my wants change frequently

I have a talent of figuring out other people are autistic based if they are like me in the slightest way. I’m right about 60 to 70% of the time. I don’t tell them though.

I’m easily overwhelmed by basic adult tasks. Can be as simple as dishes or laundry. Bills are debt are a nightmare

The future honestly terrifies me. Good or bad, I naturally stress about everything. No idea why. Planning with me is a nightmare

When I say I don’t care, I genuinely don’t care. I’m not being mean, I’m just passive cause options overwhelm me.

Okay! Time to spill the tea, except it's not really tea, it's more like lukewarm juice aka my future plans and some more ramblings.. ahem ⚆_⚆

First of all, I wanna say just how much I enjoyed creating Somnium. It all started during lockdown... I found myself working from home full-time, I had the perfect excuse to be the homebody I was born to be, I had a lot of time on my hands, and once I found simblr I couldn't resist joining in. It didn't take too long before I decided to hop on the storytelling train and before I knew it, I had a new hobby! Except.. that hobby kinda consumed me. I didn't even know where it was going to begin with, but the more involved I got, the more obsessed I became. Hyperfixations amirite?

The point being.. I think I spent a little too much time on Somnium, which left me little time for much else and I don't want to fall down that hole again. In the future I'd like to challenge my perfectionism! What does that mean? Well, it means not making poses for every scene, it means not being restricted by a complicated overarching plot that requires forced filler scenes and timelines and needs to make sense, it means less dialogue, or gasp! no dialogue at all, it means not getting hung up on continuity with editing and g-shade and font style and blah blah etc etc. I'd even like to incorporate some gameplay too, since I miss just.. playing now n' then.

I want the freedom to think of something silly, or weird, or completely off topic and to be able to run with it instead of being bound by a plot that needs to progress. Am I making sense? I hope I'm making sense. Basically, I'm calling this next venture a "story not story" because rather than it having one large plot, it's going to be more like clusters of subplots with some gameplay, weirdness or silliness in between...

Forever In Between will kick off around about two years after the events of Somnium. Mostly focused on Oscar and his family, we'll join them on the journey of life as Robin and his siblings grow up in the Bay.

We'll also spend some time with other favourites too like Noah n' co. Salton, Ivan & Bruno, Suzie, Miya & [redacted] and Matilda, among others! Maybe we'll even see what Wyatt's up to at some point 👀 As we all know, life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, but Forever In Between (or fib for short) will be a lot less heavy, though hopefully no less interesting!

Obviously, I don't have any set plans but I have a few specific scenes and ideas in mind already, as well as some vague subplots planned for most, if not all of the main characters from Somnium.

Also! Although Oscar is very much still a main character, he'll be sharing the spotlight with Robin too, as I have a lot in mind for that special lil' guy.. tehe!

So, what's next?! I want to make a lil promo before I start and then I've gotta.. y'know, actually start working on it. I have the first few scenes in mind but then we're wingin' it baby! The best plan is no plan and all that... I'm being kind to myself though, so idk when we'll start, real soon though!

I've already given everyone makeovers and gotten a few of the main builds out of the way, enough for me to get started at least, and I'd like to make a new navigation/pinned post too.

I wanna be more organised as well, so story posts will be tagged as "forever in between" & "fib" and bloopers, extras, builds, cas pics etc etc. will be tagged as "fib" & "fib extras"!

I don't post here often, so I apologize for literally all of my inexperience. SO DIPPLINSHIPPING, AMIRITE? I love all the creativity under the tag, though I really hate to say it; Juliana is either cloyingly sweet or kind of bland IN MY OPINION. I'm going to introduce my take on Juliana, whose name is Cereza, and I'm going to just dump out my thoughts about her whenever I feel like it. To quote my awesome amazing encouraging friends: "Do whatever you want forever" SO HERE GOES NOTHING!! Cereza's name is a latin name meaning cherry, in my canon Cereza has family from Paldea, explaining her latin name. I also wanted to uphold the trend of food names in paldea (ex. Arven meaning peppermint and Kieran's name in every other language meaning blackcurrant, etc.) She moved to Paldea from Galar with her Rookidee, Charon, and has never really made friends. Part of this is due to her being seen as somewhat creepy, due to factors such as

a general lack of fear considering literally anything

her social ineptitude, but less in the sense that she is antisocial, more in the sense that she's incredibly social just bad at it (a social moth so to speak)

her appearance, specifically her smile is known to be off-putting, especially when she smiles with teeth. Her canines snaggle forward a bit and she smiles very wide, a lot like Acerola but a bit creepier

Now if you're a smart and capable human who's already so good at being an adult then you might not need these advices. But if you're kinda gullible and young and eat instant noodles for dinner sometimes like me, this post might be for you!

1. "You're up for commissions? DM me!"

See, these jerks probably follow the #commission tag on insta to find their easy target. You have the comm sheet right there clear as daylight and they STILL ask this thing in your post's comments. And they don't even want to DM you, YOU DM THEM! Absolutely horrible commission etiquette! I think it's best to ignore these comments even if you're not sure about their intentions.

2. Random acc with 2 posts and 200+ followers casually walks up to your DMs and says: "Will you draw my pet for 200$??"

Suuuper basic tactics for scammers to initiate their hustle. They're just soooo basic and soooo boring they can't come up with anything else for you to draw they HAVE to be like "I don't give a damn about what you usually do or what weird fandom hyperfixation pills you're on but here's an easy-to come-up-with art idea!". And a fricking fortune for pets portraits?? Come on.

Yes, check the account too if you smell something fishy. Even if it's profile is an innocent old looking lady who seems really rude at texting for some reasons, it's worth being cautious about.

3. "Aww man something's wrong with your PayPal link, can you send me your email name instead?"

Now of course I'm not saying everyone who wants a pet drawing is a scammer. If you're still unsure or see nothing suspicious about the client, feel free to continue the conversation!

But oh noooo, every damn time they seem to have some fricking issue with your PayPal link! They DEMAND to know your email! Or offer to send the payment in some really vague foreign way. Alrighty, no big deal yet, it's not like they want to know your Roblox password or GG search history right? Let's see what might happen next!

4. Nope, no payment sent, but oooo, new email! So fun, let's check!

BAM! An "official" mail from PayPal. Some weird issue occurred and *inserts bullcrap explanation* now you have to like, send them back 500$ out of nowhere! Wait, what?!

Calm down, don't do anything yet (even if the "client" is so rudely pressuring you cuz you 'own' them cash now) Go through everything as thorough like it's your life crisis and notice that this email has an embarrassing typo! Perhaps... this is not a PayPal mail? Well no crap! You know exactly who sent it you silly goose! Plus these losers do be using ugly ass fonts amirite? Smh.

5. They're so obviously not interested in your art

Some of these bastards are just so vague about what they want for their art, you know? Instead of going on and on about the details, like do they want it coloured or not, what the artstyle is, yada yada bla bla bla, all they're excited about is getting to the payment part! The fun part of the hustle, yayyyy!! Oh and they're oddly rude and distant in the way they talk sometimes. Unacceptable even for scammers! If you want my money at least be nice!

6. So what do you do with these guys?

Block, delete, report and run!! And if you're still mad at them for lying to you, don't forget to tell those mfs to get a life instead of trying to scam someone who already knows how to make terrible financial decisions!! (it's me, I'm someone)

Pls remember though, don't jump to conclusions early yet. Now you don't want to accidentally block an innocent respectful person, do you? Trust your instincts!

Okay so uhh I knew I gotta write this before it gets out of my mind sometime and uhh I just woke up, it's 4-almost-5am, and I've dreamt of something Lady Lesso related because she's my current hyperfixation.

So I remember being in this fancy place, it looked like an art museum to me, and I saw this cute little baby who had the same curly floofy red hair as our beloved Lesso. Except this baby is very friendly with most people, she would blush and show a wonderful smile whenever someone makes her laugh. The sad thing is, this baby only had her father with her, and I doubt he ever takes care of the poor girl, her mother died sadly, and her father was irresponsible and careless. The baby had been reaching for me with her arms, I borrowed her for a minute, carried her, talked to her, played with her all that stuff. And then the time came, me and my grandma are supposed to leave but the baby grew attached to me (attachment issues, amirite? yeah same), I tried to find her father but I couldn't find it. She saw my phone, with Lesso as my obvious wallpaper and she smiled at it, I think she likes Lesso, sweet girl. I showed her more pictures of Lesso and the baby really did seem to like her and I just y'know found it cute that the baby looks so much like her but is the opposite of her with that sunshine bright smile and rosy cheeks.

Now, the dream ended, I woke up, and immediately thought.. Oh my gosh, that would be a perfect idea for a fanfiction though? I'm too busy with school though, but if anyone would be so kind to write something about Lesso and reader (female, cuz lesbians love Lesso), having a child similar to the one described in my dream, I would really appreciate that. So I should probably go pluralise the tag I'm using for this bc there isn't just one Vex magic grimoire, there's three. You've all seen the big one, I've posted about that one the most. (and I am STILL waiting for my paints to arrive ty AusPost delays wooo. -_-) But there's two other ones, smaller ones, that are part of this collection.

The big one covers Vex magic in all its forms and styles, and the idea/concept is for it to be mostly written by Pharaoh Cub, but with bits written by Scar as well, along with some illustrations bc who doesn't want an illustrated grimoire amirite? Also I want an excuse to DO art to begin with, so. :D So the canon for this book is that it's being written during season 7.

This one is the potions book, and was actually the first book I started for this project long before it became a project lol. I, like many others, am a notebook hoarder, and I had originally planned to use this one for actual planetary magic rituals and such, but for whatever reason, that never happened because my interest in planetary magic shifted away from needing that kind of thing.

So this book has sat by my monitor, unused and unloved, until I got an interest in potion making that collided with my Cubfan hyperfixation, and my brain decided to use this book for potions instead, both minecraft stuff and witchy stuff, in the same way that the Vex magic grimoire will have, like, cake recipes in it bc why not. :D

The illustration there is meant to be of netherwart, but I haven't got around to finalising that sketch yet. And it's on paper because the thing I drew on the other side I coloured with markers and it bled through quite badly (no you can't see it. XD) so I wanted to cover it up somehow.

In my head, this is like just one of Cub's random potion notebooks, with recipes and formulas and experiements and other things of note. There's no specific place in the timeline where this fits in, it's just there idk. The kind of book that was maybe started ages ago, forgotten about, and then he came back to it later when he had run out of other notebooks to fill perhaps. I feel like I'm gonna have to remind myself how to take lab notes again bc that feels like his style.

bc Scar absolutely does magic based on vibes, whereas Cub has a more experimental style that includes taking notes. That's what I feel anyway. Cub's absolutely going to do crazy stuff, but you'll know what he did and how he did it, whereas Scar's more like, idk it just worked idk how! about everything. XD

This is the newest one, The Book of the Stars. This is why I've been cataloguing the names of the stars in Cub's pyramid. I want to include notes on each of those, as well as including a bunch more stars as well bc I will definitely need them to fill out this thicc boi.

I want to finish the star map first before I decide what kind of information I want to include with each star (and galaxy and nebula and constellation). Also how I want to organise and classify them all. A-Z? Type? Real and then not-real? idk idk idk. Part of me had wanted to include, like, idk lore or something with each one, but I'm not sure that's necessarily the right way to go. idk. We'll see.

This is mostly meant to be a catalogue of stars as opposed to a grimoire, tho there may be some stellar magic information in here too idk yet. But the canon associated with this is that this is where the Evokers take their names from, from the stars listed in this book, to honour the knowledge Cub has taught them about Vex magic and how to use it more effectively. bc humans - players - name things, and once upon a time, the ConVex named a High Priest, and that is the origin of Evokers having names. Vex don't need them bc they are a collective (unless they need to stay in the overworld or are possessing a player, but even then, it is simply a tool and not something that belongs to any individual Vex alone), but Evokers aren't Vex, and are individual enough to take them on bc they all have different skills and talents and ranks amongst the Vex.

I've also wondered about whether to include the screencaps I took from the pyramid to show the stars and their names like the one above but I suspect that might be better suited to a sideblog type of situation bc printing all those out would go through far too much black ink. DX So we'll see what I do with that.

Also I'm approaching this as a practicing witch, and that's been a very interesting exercise. I love creating magic systems, but I also love writing about witchcraft and magic, and this is such an interesting project for me intellectually as well because it's not just creating new magics and explaining them, but also looking at different mechanics and ways to do magic, and how those blend in with some of the real magic stuff I've been studying, like astrology and stellar magic, planetary magic, and potion making. It's not my aim to be, like, evangelising about these practices through this project and trying to get others into witchcraft. I'm just doing something creative with my interests. It's like how you learn more about your own native language by studying another, right? I'm doing this more for my own mind and seeing these magics in a different context can help me make sense of them for my own work.

Also the current page I'm working on in the grimoire about Scar's glamours is I think going to end up getting quite deep into identity and masks and shapeshifting, and that's a very interesting idea to roll around in my head as much as it is to write fanfic about. bc masks can be used in very interesting ways for magic and shapeshifting, and the ConVex wearing their Vex masks asks a lot of those deep questions about the magic those masks use, and how they deal with identity in spite of the blackouts and possession the masks seem to give them. I'm also on board with the idea that the masks enable shifting into their Vex forms, that it unlocks that magic that they wouldn't otherwise be able to harness.

And so that's a really deep and interesting topic to explore, and to see how Cub and Scar might explain and understand it. bc from the start, I wanted this grimoire to be a conversation between them, as opposed to a dry feeling grimoire with academic-style articles. That's no fun. I want to practice voices, and characterisation, and explore the Vex stuff in a way I don't think I could do with a more prose-based bog-standard fanfiction style. And I get to flex my creative muscles in new ways, and that's very stimulating right now.

Tho i still have no idea how to classify this stuff. Is it fanfic? meta fanfic? something else entirely? idk anymore. I'm just gonna keep working at it and posting my progress and hopefully I'm not the only one who ends up really enjoying following this process. <3

Anyway. I think I've rambled enough for now lol. I have more work to do on this, but the star map work can wait bc migraine lol, so I might do some more mask chat and see where that conversation takes me.

Also, if anyone has advice for how to archive this project properly on tumblr, lemme know? I want to make sure it's all easily found and in one place, but not sure if a separate page on my main or a sideblog is the better way to do that alongside the tag I'm using for updates here. idk what works best for tumblr so, any advice would be much appreciated, ty. <3

i’ve not heard any rumours of them breaking up?! (What youtube videos are this pls link). When I met them they were just walking along the street with coffee cups, presumably they’d gone to get lunch together but they were very nice to me (even had a full convo after about what i was up to in edinburgh-answer: i live there lmaoo). I wasn’t sensing anything tough between them (nor in the two movie nights i’ve seen). Mind you, it’s a private relationship!! So I won’t speculate about that but they definitely still seemed to be friends. 

I was so wrapped up in my disappointment I can’t remember exactly what was said to me about season 3 but Dave did say something along the lines of ‘all good things come to an end’. They seemed kind of bummed out about no season 3 so maybe it was a BBC decision rather than a mischief decision. Sad times. 

There is hope for more cornley stuff, but I’m veryyy sad to see the tv show go. Mischief movie night has been incredibly popular from what I’ve seen so that won’t be going anywhere either haha.

Okay so, I’ve been giving this an unnecessary amount of thought (as one should for a hyperfixation)

If the Life Series was a show, what would be the in-universe story?

How would you make three season with the same characters, if the literal premise of the show is that only one character survives to the end?

How do you keep the stakes, what is the overall conflict and how do the characters return each season despite dying? What’s in it for them?

(I’m sure other fans have thought this as well, but I’m gonna try imagining a series that is as similar as possible, but is more grounded. I’m borrowing ideas from similar series like Hunger games and Squid Game, to fit the storytelling format)

The Life Series:

Welcome to the Life Series! In this brand new show, 14 contestants have been chosen to fight against each other to the death.

And if the contestants, upon waking up, are questioning what they are doing inside a large blue dome, are generally frightened or demanding to see who took them here… ignore that.

As the contestants quickly learn thanks to the local NPCs, they are all now a part of Third Life, the first of three seasons which will all take place inside the perimeter (the lovely blue dome that you are currently trapped in). Rules are simple, if you are the winner of one or more seasons, you will be allowed to escape the perimeter after the show has ended.

Now how do you win? Well, as you can see on your wrist, you all are equipped with three lives. The small energy shield around you is there to protect those lives. If the shield breaks due to damage, you will lose one of your lives. Once you are down to one life, you are a red life and the shield will be permanently gone. As a red life you are unprotected and easy to kill, so watch your back. On the plus side, without a shield in your way, you will be able to attack your fellow contestants, so be sure to use it wisely.

Thanks to technology, if you die, we’ll simply reupload your consciousness into a new body for the next season and you get another try. We have made sure the body is a similar build, gender and so on, but small differences may put you off at first. It may take a bit of time to get used to the new body, so better if you don’t die, amirite?

Well, that is all for Third life. Each of the three seasons will take place in a new perimeter and we may change the rules a little bit as we go along, so better if you stack up those wins early. As a green or yellow life, you may team up, bond, betray, and treat your fellow contestants however you please. As a red life, you may do all of those things, with the added bonus of stabbing whoever you find annoying.

Just remember, only one winner can be left standing at season’s end. And only those with wins, can leave this place once the third season is over.

ive already gone on a HUGE spiel about the game on Instagram and even though I've never posted Mina here I'm just gonna copy n paste the rant under the cut. sliiight spoilers for the game but not really???

hiii besties since Blackout Hospital came out I wanted to draw my old oc again! Mina still won't wear her uniform because "I don't get paid to look formal, I get paid to mop up bodily fluids." She probably spent the whoooole entire blackout in the cafeteria and the kitchen, mainly because she found out Reginald was still around and refused to explore beyond that point. Unlike me, who's Reginald Tetra hyperfixation reawakens with a fury every time the man *breathes* on screen (hence the two images below, me and my friends spent a whole night discussing theories about what his deal is 😭) Mina is incredibly unnerved by his presence. 2

Anyway, @arcadekitten YOUR GAMES ARE LITERALLY THE BEST EVERRR, I never get bored of seeing your characters and I just wanted to thank you for giving us another amazing entry to...whatever the hell is going on in that universe!! It's really inspires me to work and develop my own characters more. I'm literally learning to code because of Cemetery Mary lmao. 9. what do you think of the dca's canon appearance? Scary? Cute? Something else? -

I... I hate to say this, such a boring answer, but I feel pretty neutral about them?? Like, how do I explain this, like when I was a tiny kid I wasn't freaked out by clowns or creepyass robots like ppl my age were (I still remember going to a circus once and being completely serene while my siblings fuckin bawled their eyes out when they saw clowns gitrogjvorejgiro). In a way I suppose I also just find their designs appealing. They aren't pretty (well at least not traditionally so~), they have flaws, and that makes them so interesting.

But give canon sun like, normal black pupils and oh my god THEN I'm scared gjeurogujeiguierjiogjfsd

13/14. thoughts on pre-glitch sun/moon? -

I love seeing all the different takes on them! The funny thing is I find a lot of the time I write fics (stares at my trunk full of drafts) I tend to just straight-up ignore canon, like the virus never existed to begin with. That's partially cause I dislike heavy angst and partially cause it's fun to imagine they could act irrationally without any glitch (like a virus-free Sun who gradually becomes unhinged all on his own?? *chefs kiss*)

10. what keeps you in this fandom despite the very small amount of canon content the dca had? -

I will hyperfixate on shit for ages regardless of how much actual content there is. I find fan content is almost always much more thought-provoking than the source material since you get all these amazing artists/writers pouring their hearts into stuff. That's what keeps me around (plus the ideas that keep plaguing my head that need an OUTLET)

19. do you think you'd actually get along with the dca if you met them irl? -

To be honest I probably wouldn't meet them irl since I'm mega socially anxious and would never wanna be in a big pizzaplex, let alone around loudass kids. Buuuut hypothetically if it did happen... they'd most likely think I'm unfriendly since I naturally act uninterested/standoffish around ppl I have a crush on cause they make me so nervous, so they'd prolly just ignore me tbh ; - ; Then I always start feeling inferior and unlovable and hide in my lil shell till I go hide in a bathroom #Feelsbadman (that's the beauty of fictional husbands amirite)
