So. All of the masks/the batman cowl they all have. Cameras in them? So if something happens on patrol they have pictures.
This was supposed to be in case something back happened. Every like, minute or so, they take a picture which goes onto the batcomputer
One year for Christmas dick and Tim spend. Hours. Days. Going through the pictures from the cowl and making Bruce a scrapbook of just.. pictures of his kids? Because there aren't many pictures of them all together
And so you have like. Pictures of Damian and Tim ahead of him on patrol bickering and dick mid-fall because he was playing the "wait till the last second to grapple" game and then missed the trigger
The real gems are from the solo robin and batman patrols. Especially Jason and Dicks patrols
They find a picture of Jason all curled up in the batmobile sleeping in Bruce's cape its adorable
I think it's even cuter if Bruce like.. goes through the pictures a lot. And he leaves like. Notes? So he doesn't forget the context
Like under damian and Tim just "I have no idea what they were arguing about, but the look on Damians face.."
A note under a picture of little robin!dick looking MISERABLE and it's just "apparently his 'cool trick' was not worth the four stitches."

Hot take:
What I like about Elucien is that it's not the scorching, fire-hot chemistry that's overwhelming either or both of them. It's not those charged interactions that make you think they're going to tear into each other at any given moment.
They don't know each other well at all. There's deliberate distance; hesitation and control. They're a bit shy around each other and definitely awkward. It's such a far cry from that snarky, silver-tongued, sassy emissary in Lucien we're used to, and Elain's essentially having to start her life completely anew. They both have a long way to go, and they both have a lot of healing to do.
He never pushes her. He doesn't "prowl" towards her, loom over her hitting her with the kind of look inviting all kinds of temptation, or even hint at any sort of dominance with her.
Because that wouldn't be right for Elain. Not right now or anytime soon, at least.
He's trying to get to know her as a gentleman would: talk with her, learn a bit more about her. Get a sense of her interests/hobbies and things that make her happy. He keeps his distance when he knows she's not comfortable, and he doesn't cross that line. He buys her an achingly thoughtful gift, but doesn't insert himself into the equation and merely leaves it for her when things get tense with Feyre.
Yes, we all love to joke about that a fire in his blood and all its burning implications, but to me, it's his mind and self-control that make him so sexy.
I love that Elain--who's more shy and uncertain of her agency than her sisters ever were--doesn't have to contend with someone who's constantly undressing her with his eyes or making every excuse he can to touch her. He looks at her, sure, with sadness and "longing," but there's a gentleness to it and how he is with her that makes both him and them as a potential couple refreshing and all the more "earned."
It's different for this series. Slower and sweeter. It's also achingly painful as a reader, but the potential for something beautiful to form is addicting.
I just think it would make it all the more powerful when--if--they do finally truly choose each other. That foundation could become so incredibly strong, rooted in deep understanding, then friendship, then love.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not downplaying the potential for some excellent spice, but I like to think it'll play out very differently with a little sweeter meaning. I'm convinced she'll be the one to unravel if they ever share so much as an otherwise-innocent kiss.
But right now? Lucien's basically doing the equivalent of giving a girl his number so she can call him when she's ready to talk and go out.
Do I think her sisters treat her with kid gloves? Sure. Do I think they underestimate her and what she wants out of life? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean she's still not a little more reserved than they are (and likely always will be to some degree).
He'll meet her halfway and is allowing her to choose where that point is.

I just stumbled across Twin Runes. It is a great story! Well crafted and it feels near enough to canon in both humor and tone while being your own thing. The major characters feel like real teenagers with lives and pasts beyond what we saw on screen and I love your art style. So thank you very much for posting.
Not sure if this has been asked before but how would your Kris react to going through the Photoshop Flowey fight, or worse: the God of Hyperdeath? And in the other direction how would your Frisk and Chara react to the Jevil or Spamtron fights?
Thank you so very much! This is the kinda thing I'm really trying to aim for the most. There is no way to match Toby's writing 1 for 1, but really want to do it justice. And especially the characters too. Thank you for enjoying it so far!
As for your other questions, I can't really go into the former, since that this spoilers for The Other Script. While these two versions of Kris are not exactly the same character, I feel like they would pretty much react the same way to these fights. And since that is a big story beat in The Other Script, I can't really go into it. But the other question is pretty much fair game. I feel like TR!Frisk wouldn't really understand what either of their deal is. Maybe Jevil moreso than Spamton... but still. They just deal with whatever is thrown at them, no questions asked. While TR!Chara would be really put off by them. But they'd most likely just get mad at Frisk for trying to engage with them in the first place. Constantly telling them it's a bad idea. Which leads into an "I told you so" moment. Especially if we'd put them in the place of Kris.

Is it in the best interest of humanity to prevent other species from becoming sapient or do you think we can handle peaceful co-existence with sapient non-humans?
I don't care about the best interests of humanity, I care about the best interests of the biosphere
and I know from history that us meddling with the evolution of nature either goes great (see: Native American interactions with the landscape) or terribly (see: the environmental destruction that is European Colonialism)
so I don't know if we can handle peaceful coexistence, or if more sapience would be good for the biosphere, or what have you. So, since I really don't know, my answer is we shouldn't really do much of anything. If other species become sapient, we deal with it then. If they don't, then we don't.

What I would like to add to the conversation concerning Mercymorn and Harrowhark's age, (if someone else has pointed this out before, please let me know!). Is that she's not just considering the present implications of having a child on board but also future implications. As far as we know, jod, Augustine and Mercymorn do, at least, participate in some form of sexual interaction from time to time. And from other types of media I've consumed concerning immortal beings, the consensus is that living forever and losing people will do that to you. Whether or not they had a physical relationship with each other before the whole planet-alecto debacle is irrelevant. If you have a sexual appetite and there happens to be people you know on board, and you've lived past any natural time that any human should, you tend to be less picky about your choices and have less inhibition. Obviously it can also be natural to not have sex with people you know for centuries, but this is all hypothetical and we won't be completely sure until we witness an actual immortal, lol.
But it's not technically immoral, at least not by any modern standards. Even though it might be a little gross for the young lyctors on board ("old people should be shot" Ianthe Tridentarius comes to mind) there's nothing really immoral based here. They are all consensual adults. However, with time comes a lack of restraint. The current idea being that these new lyctors are here to replace the old lyctors, for the foreseeable future. If Harrowhark was actually 15, and everything went as jod planned, then it would be plausible to think that as the years went on, as Harrowhark learned and experienced more, she and Ianthe might end up participating in some of these activities as they so wished. Mercymorn was speaking from that perspective, that some day, even though it was very much FAR AWAY in the future. She might be propositioned into an orgy with an individual who still has the body of a child, and maybe even the mind. Which I can imagine only aids in the disgust and horror of it all.

what do you think could have been some ripple effects if the dance was somehow delayed by 7 years? what do you think the ripple effects could have been in favour of/against the greens as well as the blacks?
I admit to jumping the queue in my ask box for this question because it's really interesting!
The first thing that comes to mind is that Lord Corlys would almost certainly be dead. This, I think, is the biggest factor. He dies in canon only 3 years after Viserys and he's 79 at that point, so I'm going to assume he would have died around that age regardless. So if Corlys dies, there might legitimately be a Driftmark succession crisis before there's one for the Iron Throne. Now Lucerys presumably has the support of his family and can probably win any conflict, but at what cost? It's also true that this could give the realm a preview of what might happen were Jace to attempt to succeed Rhaenyra to the Iron Throne. And that's if Luke remains the undisputed heir after taking the Driftwood Throne, which I don't necessarily think is a given. Luke is inexperienced and the men of the fleet are going to resent him. At the end of the Dance the other side of the Velaryon family tried to overthrow Alyn, but he and Baela managed to reconcile with them, but with Luke? I think there's a chance that most of Corlys' fleet defects to the greens the moment Viserys dies.
Over on the green side, Aegon's kids are older and that's two more potential dragonriders in Jaehaera and Jaehaerys. Both Sunfyre and Tessarion would be larger too. Daeron and Aemond have almost certainly made marriages of their own, or at least betrothals, with brides to be married as soon as Viserys died.
There are also a lot of wild cards, like Daemon. In 7 years his sons are in their late teens and it might be harder to watch Jace inherit over them when they're promising young men than when they're little kids. How likely is he to get bored and shit stir? How likely is it that things have soured between him and Rhaenyra? Does Jeyne Arryn still die in 134? If so, the Vale is facing it's own succession crisis at that point. Does the Winter Fever still hit at the same time? The demographic that seems most affected by that seems to be people in their 30s-50s, so do Daemon, Rhaenyra, Alicent, Otto, all survive it?
I think that overall things do not look as good seven years down the line for the black faction. There are a lot of problems festering with their allies that have simply not come to a head yet when the Dance breaks out in canon. On the other hand, the greens have 7 more years to shore up alliances, for their baby dragons to grow, and for Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron to mature. The wild card factors mostly don't bode well for Rhaenyra's cause either.

How do you think a hypothetical meeting between Dany and Maester Aemon would have gone?
Very well, actually. Aside from all of Aemon's learning, I think Aemon would have been able to break some truths about Dany's family gently, as well as direct her attention to the crisis beyond the Wall and the people trying to do something about it.
Which is why this meeting could never be allowed to happen.

What if someone broke out of a hypothetical situation in your room right now?
Hypotheticals [Explained]
Transcript Under the Cut
[Cueball is holding up his hand towards Beret Guy, who talks to him. From Beret Guy's head go three bubbles to a big thought bubble, where the next part of the comic takes place.] Beret Guy: What if I had some ice cream? Wouldn't that be awesome? Cueball: No, stop-
[The comic continues inside Beret Guy's thought bubble. The two characters have switched places, and Beret Guy is now eating from an ice cream cone. Cueball is holding his hand to his chin, and from his head go four bubbles to a thought bubble in the lower right corner, where the last part of the comic takes place.] Cueball: Great, you've trapped us in a hypothetical situation! Beret Guy: Mmm, ice cream. Cueball: Maybe if I had a knife I could cut our way free...
[Inside Cueball's thought bubble, Beret Guy continues to eat his ice cream, but Cueball has cut a hole through the last thought bubble with a knife and is handing it to the Cueball who thinks about this]. Beret Guy: Mmm, ice cream! Cueball: Here, take this one.

I often wonder what would have happened if Touya/Dabi stayed here and lived here after finding Endeavour had moved on to Shoto (and onbvs. not burned the place down). Would his damage have stayed minimal? What role would he have taken on? Trained, or would he still have remained too hostile for AFO?

Slightly depressing ask but I love your takes on these characters - what do you think Obi-Wan would have done and how would he have reacted if Anakin hadn't betrayed the Jedi but had been killed in Order 66?
ooo good question
i mean my personal opinion is that there really isn't a story where anakin doesn't betray the jedi that could ever be as good and true to his character as the story where he does.
it would be most interesting i think if anakin betrays the jedi still but dies on the blade of another jedi while he's storming the temple but then that jedi dies so for a while no one knows that anakin fell
and so he's remembered a hero even though he died a monster and obi-wan comes to the temple after the massacre, goes straight to the security tapes, sees anakin fighting on the wrong side....he's probably just as devastated and in utter disbelief
especially when he sees anakin struck down
the instinctive rage at the jedi master who stabbed his padawan, his disbelief and grief at anakin's betrayal, his agony to see him downed....
his relief that anakin has been killed so obi-wan doesn't have to watch him kill more, kill again.
i could see this obi-wan going on a suicide mission to kill palpatine; yoda does not want to tag along because obi-wan is very much holding it together on a thin string, but this is about avenging the jedi and avenging anakin
does he die?? i could see sidious killing him. i could see sidious trying to use his confusion and grief to get him to fall. i could see that backfiring and yoda and obi-wan killing or capturing him
i could see both of them failing and the empire truly rising and obi-wan turns to fighting in the rebellion as one of its most capable generals. one of its most dangerous ones. one of its most ruthless ones.
maybe he even falls idk. he falls but he doesn't turn completely to the dark side. he falls but is just utterly opposed to the empire that the rebellion doesn't care it doesnt matter. he's a sithy lil dude on their side.

If that one villain from spider-man who doesn't want to cure cancer but turn people into dinsoaurs got you, would you have a request for what kind?
so I'm torn, right?
I have five birds, but they're not all the same species. two pair bonded cockatiels, two conures that are pair bonded, and a conure on her own
and I like don't want to abandon them
but it would be weird to just be their species?
and what would my spouse, @plokool, be? any of my (human) friends, if they wanted to?
or do I like have ALL of us changed into one thing? that's such a weird dynamic change I love it
like if I was attachmentless here or w/e completely my own free choice with nothing to consider at all besides what I'd enjoy...
emperor penguins
no, I am not kidding. I have erythromelalgia and I desperately want their (ideal) existence
(not a fan of climate change's effect here but still)
I think if I had to change my literal flock to one thing with me and my spouse, I'd pick crows or ravens from where we live so we're adapted to here and don't have to go far or worry that much about predators?
if the literal flock has to stay that then yeah I think I'm still going with corvid so we can all hang out together and I still make sure they're okay just in a different way and I guess the spouse does too?
sorry for overthinking this!

I remember reading an article talking about the future meat farm that essentially left the animals(in there example they talked bout chickens)brain dead keep “alive” trough feeding tube and when fully grown will be haverted. Should I be worried that this might be the future for farm animals?
I’ve seen this doing the rounds but it’s worth pointing out that it was part of a project by an architectural student, it’s conceptual not scientific. It’s never been tried or tested and likely never will be, because there is just no appetite for it from producers or consumers.
Even if this did offer a more ‘humane’ way to farm animals, which is a big if, that’s not a reason for producers to do it. Reducing suffering is just not a priority for the industry as a whole, the mere existence of factory farming is enough to prove that. It’s all about cost and efficiency.
They don’t actually need to change anything to convince people that what they’re doing to animals is not cruel, they just need to make sure that consumers don’t see it. That’s easy enough to do because consumers don’t want to see it. Implementing a system like this would be saying goodbye to the pastoral, idyllic farmer fantasy that they rely on to sell to consumers.
It doesn’t matter if this actually would be better for animals, because it doesn’t look better. The optics of it are repellent, for just about everyone. It would be expensive to test and implement, and it is set up as a solution to something that the industry does not see as a problem at all, which is animal suffering. Even consumers aren’t really that bothered about that, otherwise they’d stop buying it, and the industry knows that all too well. Why fix what they don’t think it’s broken?
