Since today is Morher’s day, let us take a look back at these mother figures that raised Princess Zelda well.
Even one of them is alive in an alternate timeline.
May Hylia blessed her for happiness!

So… has anyone realized that the mummified Ganondorf and Rauru’s arm totally must still be under Hyrule Castle in the Age of Calamity timeline? How do you think that would go? After all, while Tears of The Kingdom takes place a hundred years from Age of Calamity, I still can’t help but feel disturbing his grave would unleash him regardless. That seal can’t have been holding well for a long, long time.
I guess my question is, how would the Upheaval change the Age of Calamity world, and how would the events of Tears of The Kingdom be changed by the Champions still being alive and Hyrule having never collapsed in the first place?

The vague time-skip between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom is so interesting to me. People say it's been seven years as a homage to Ocarina of Time. Others say it's more like three to five.
Personally, I think it's a lot more, and the reason why, is because of 1) Purah's aging and 2) Link's "Tony Hawk" status.
Now, I get it, the two don't seem exactly related, but ask yourself this one question: How exactly did Purah age herself?
In Breath of the Wild, we learn through her diary that she tested the beta rune for anti-aging and it did its job a little too well. So well, that she considers making its counterpart, an aging rune. Notwithstanding all the ethical implications of age manipulation, Purah could have very well aged herself over the course of a few years, if we include the time it took to research the rune, plus the testing of its functionality.
But what if she didn't?
I know you're reading this with doubt. It's Purah. She's going to do it. Hear me out.
In her diary, Purah wrote that she had accidentally reversed 70 years of her life over one night. It led her to fear that she would become a newborn baby. She had every right to be scared. All that she has learned in her lifetime, gone, just like that. Can you imagine, then, how daunting the prospect of aging oneself would be? What if she accidentally aged too quickly, with a deteriorated mind that could no longer keep track of all that she has learned and discovered? Even worse, what if she goes too far and dies? The Sheikah are no exceptions to death. With anti-aging, the risk was having to relearn everything from birth. With aging, the risk is not being able to learn at all. Mad scientist that she is, she wouldn't take those chances. Even the strongest calculations would still show a margin of error that is too high to look over. She's not invincible.
So let her age naturally. What does that tell us?
Disregarding her mental age of 124 (the oldest of the Sheikah, ignoring all Sheikah monks), Purah was physically six years old in Breath of the Wild. If we assume her form in Tears of the Kingdom is equivalent to the form of her 24 year old self in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity...
18 years have passed.
There's a lot to be said about how Zelda and Link don't look like they've aged at all, but that's not the important part. The important part is that Link, Hero of the Wild, hasn't had to save the world in almost two decades. Look at yourself from eighteen, twenty years ago and look in the mirror. Do you recognize yourself? Maybe, maybe not. But the differences are striking, aren't they?
I think that's it. That's why the people of Hyrule don't recognize him.

One thing I love about Sooga that I realized earlier today is that that whole thing about “A message that concerns Zelda’s impending death” was just him testing the waters to make sure Astor’s words held some truth and Master Kohga wasn’t just being manipulated by some random schmuck off the road (Hence “I suppose destiny is at work then”)
And Master Kohga wasn’t with him either, nor is he ever shown to be aware of what went down, so this was an attack led exclusively by Sooga

In a recent IGN interview with Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma, he was asked when they decided during development that Zelda would transform into a dragon. Pretty wild but at the same time saddening at the same time.
Tumblr media
Now here are the big questions: Is the Light Dragon exist in the Age of Calamity Alternate Timeline? And where she in Breath of the Wild since there are now two Zeldas? One is her current dragon form… and the other is her past counterpart.

This is a scheduled post, for I am not gonna be active much until I get my own TotK copy. So that Purah pic I posted yesterday is gonna be after the break, for those who don't wanna be spoiled yet:
Tumblr media
There she is! In all her splendor 😭
Expect inconsistencies once I start drawing her, I gotta get used to that new-old hairdo.
I really wanted her to be old like the other two, but beggars can't be choosers.

ok as promised here's the post about botw-adjacent hyrule castle's theorized main entrance
so: as anyone who's explored the castle in breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom knows, there are limited entrances to the interior of the castle. there's the docks, some tunnels, the balcony of the observation room, etc. then there are a couple of side doors, like the ones to the guards' chambers, the library door that leads outside, the door(s) to zelda's room, etc. but like, none of those is a *main entrance*. you'd think it's obvious, duh, it's the door to the sanctum!
but here's the kicker. the sanctum doesn't lead anywhere.
you can't actually get anywhere else from the sanctum. you can get on top of the sanctum, sure, and you can get outside, but it does not connect to any other parts of the castle. There aren't even rubble filled doorways that would indicate that you could! (this is Very Likely so that you wouldn't accidentally end up in the boss fight in botw while exploring the rest of the castle, and like, that makes sense from a dungeon design point of view, but not from a *liveable castle* point of view.) this is ESPECIALLY frustrating because Creating a Champion literally states that Zelda's room is where it is so that she could get to the sanctum in less than 5 minutes without going outside. SHE CAN'T, NINTENDO, BECAUSE YOU REMOVED ALL INNER THE DOORS TO THE SANCTUM!!
so this creates the question: where was the main entrance before calamity then?
well, youtuber banan039 has an answer: under the observation room balcony! genious, i thought, that makes so much sense omg why wasn't that in there in botw. (by the way i'm in love with banan039's pre-calamity mod's progress videos they give me so much strength on my harrowing journey to trying to figure out intact hyrule castle's layout please go watch them and support the creator if you have the means.)
but uh yeah anyway turns out the door isn't there in botw because there's a cliff like right in front of it. well that's inconvenient, i thought, but idk, maybe the calamity caused it and collapsed the door.
NOPE! that door was never in there even pre-calamity in breath of the wild canon!
Tumblr media
(https://www.reddit.com/r/Breath_of_the_Wild/comments/7xkavh/hyrule_castle_town_on_its_prime_before_the/)
this screenshot is from the cutscene in champion's ballad where king rhoam appoints the champions. if you look closely, you can see that the area underneath the observation room (right above the castle gates) is the same texture as the cliffs around it, and you can see the bit of grass there, yeah, that would block the front door.
(also, minor spoilers for tears of the kingdom: you couldn't have anything under the observation room anyway because of the royal secret passage.)
and actually then i got to thinking: if the front door was under the observation room, what would be the purpose of the gatehouses??? and, as a friend pointed out, the narrow winding path that would be difficult to climb, heightening the castle's defenses????
so what makes the most sense is that the main entrance would be in the sanctum after all, especially since it was said in creating a champion that it would have had an indoors access to zelda's room. my current working theory is that there was a spiral staircase in one of the corner towers of the sanctum's lowest floor, but i have not yet been able to explore that area in depth enough to confirm that it could have been possible. however, it seems... plausible, likely even if i happen to find a spot with a lot of rubble on the floor, because that could be a staircase hole filled up. it's not the most conventional castle architecture but eh, it makes more sense than the front door being before either of the gatehouses, straight on the line of attack after the castle gate gets broken.
except.
THERE'S A FUCKING FRONT DOOR UNDER THE OBSERVATION ROOM IN AGE OF CALAMITY

sigh.
