high school orchestra is such a funny institution. like hi we’re going to put you in a room with two dozen other kids in an environment where we intentionally rank and compare you and will blatantly favor the kids whose parents could pay for lessons starting when they were five. no we won’t do anything about the culture that would be insane. this is a creative space :) btw you will think about how much you miss playing in a group for the next ten years. and also you won’t be able to hear vivaldi’s seasons without wanting to throw up

now that i think about it the only videos and pictures ive seen going around from sonic symphony live were of the vocal tracks so now im wondering was there an orchestra only section at all? or is it just that nobody bothered to record that part

#but i also havent been like actively seeking out recordings just randomly coming across them so i could be missing a lot of stuff #i feel like the orchestra half of the original sonic symphony is a bit underappreciated compared to the second half #which is sad. i really like the orchestra half.. most of the sonic symphony stuff i re listen to regularly is from the orchestra #my favorite part overall though is probably live and learn but i cant listen to it unless im in the right mood for it #it just does something to my brain

good news! i can still read music

#libra.txt #pulled out my violin for the first time in months #i still have a good ear at least #i have such stiff and painful shoulders and i've lost a lot of musical stamina #but. i can still play. and i sound pretty good for only playing like once every three months #if that #ohhh how i miss music. i want to be part of a full orchestra so bad #literally my dream job forever and always is to be a violinist for like. video game osts #i love classical music don't get me wrong (romantic era is my actual fave tho) #but. i really miss being part of a group. #i'm sad that i was always too scared to audition for like. all-county and all-state #i did all-county once and it was such a phenomenal experience #but i missed all-state auditions bc of a friend's memorial service #BUT THEY GAVE US THE WRONG TIME #and so i even missed that!!!! #i miss her so much. i feel so guilty that i wasn't there. she was so dear to me
