my thoughts on Saga Anderson and the lack of spotlight on her in fanworks
Hmmm…this has been bothering me since I waded into the fandom after AW2 dropped. WHY DOES 99.9% OF THE FANDOM SLEEP ON SAGA WHILE IT'S HALF HER GAME???
I DON'T understand the fixation on Casey (even though I adore him and he's the other half of my OTP), or Zane to the point that when Saga is in ensemble art, she's relegated to being the "bro". And for what purpose? She has just as much build up and storyline as Alan himself. She certainly has more screen time than FBI Casey. I see posts going "oh, I love Saga so much, she was so badass" and then almost nothing when it comes to fan work.
Do y'all understand, how, as a black woman, this frustrates me to NO end? I go to her tag on AO3, see new fics, get excited...just to see she's the bro or footnote to CaseyWake. I've literally been brought to TEARS over this. Saga was written with SO much love and care, and it's so obvious. She was not the stereotypical sassy, angry, loud black woman that we tend to get when we're even thought of at all.
And it's genuinely PAINFUL to see all of the love, all of that care, ALL OF THAT RESPECT, IGNORED by fandom because you want to focus on the white men. Because why? I get it, het is so icky for most of you, fine. But to not even give her fanart/fics just on her and her daughter? It's terribly egregious.
Saga Anderson is genuinely a role model. She's smart, warm, funny, dedicated, sympathetic and passionate. She will change REALITY just to save the ones she loves. She's NEVER had to deal with anything like the Bright Falls situation and she came through it with such GRACE. She saved the fucking day. She did what Alan couldn't do in THIRTEEN YEARS. And she gets no recognizance in fanworks?
And I know the majority of this fandom happens to be made up of women, at least for fanworks. You truly mean to tell me you can't, at all, even a little bit, relate to this woman? You can't make her the focus, instead of a background character? The white men are easier to understand and draw/write for?
I can't tell anyone who to like, or who to ship, nor would I ever try to, because on the internet, it seems like het is icky despite how amazing the woman is. But I've seen comments towards andercase fanart going "Saga, no, you're married!" But shipping CaseyWake in the same breath, despite Alan being married and getting back to his wife being the main motivation for Alan to do anything at all.
It comes off as hypocritical, it comes off a wee bit "I don't know what to do with this black woman...hmm, let's just make her root for CaseyWake" I'm left feeling that Sam and the team love Saga more than the fans ever do or will. And that fucking sucks. Because to put so much thought into a character and love the character, just to be ignored?
That hurts, really really badly. I genuinely enjoyed feeling like I was represented. I loved having a character I could relate to, one I could understand. But it feels like I'm in the minority. When she tells Alan he's not alone in this, this is THEIR story...well, that was the truth for me, and I wish others felt the same way.
I genuinely adore the works Saga has gotten that focus on her, and I see so much love and care put into them. It just somehow feels like fandom made this game into CaseyWake 24/7 and it's icky.

not obligated to answer this but if you have anymore thoughts about alex sdv (or stardew valley at all) please share. i am obsessed with alex
Oh hell yeah anon you've activated my current hyperfixation 😁 I have a google doc where I'm dropping my headcanons and a bulleted timeline for a Alex/m!farmer longfic I've been writing in my head that's up to about 13 pages now ahaha so here's a few things!!
When he first moved to Pelican Town he was actually really quiet and reserved because he was still grieving heavily, so he never really got close to the other kids. He talks about how he played gridball with his mom so I think once he got the chance to play that in school (in another town no doubt) I think he came out of his shell then and made some friends, but all those friends lived far enough away that after graduating high school he's been pretty lonely and never could connect with the other people his own age in town.
He never goes into the saloon to my knowledge prior to the 10-heart event dinner scene, so I headcanon that it's because he doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't want the temptation to try it. I don't remember if it's said explicitly but I got the impression his dad's abuse stemmed from being drunk so I imagine Alex refuses to touch the stuff out of both principle and fear of becoming like his father one day.
I said it in another post but I headcanon him as gay and suffering comphet. He's built himself up as this cool popular guy, so he tries to emulate the sexist straight guys he's seen in movies but there's absolutely nothing behind it. He says something rude to a girl and then is like uhhh (shit what now) bye! 😅 I want to think that in getting to know the farmer he not only does away with that facade but also gets more comfortable in his sexuality!!
and on a sidenote to the above: I hc most of the town as gay or bi and I am toying with the idea of Abby being transfem! Sam/Seb is a given, and maaaybe they're in a poly relationship with Abby but I'm still undecided!! I like Maru/Penny as a concept but need to marinate on that a bit more, I see them always sitting together and it makes me happy but I need to think more on how they met and what their relationship would be like. I don't have anything solid yet in terms of other characters' gender or sexuality headcanons exactly, other than Caroline and Jodi being bi and desperately yearning to run away together 🥰
But back to Alex!! With how his storyline goes of trying to impress others with his jock persona, then trying to switch gears and be super booksmart, I headcanon that he gets close to the farmer via the farmer tutoring him so he can take a community college placement test. :3 My thought for why he's in the rut he's in is that he wanted to play college gridball but his grades in high school were so bad he has done nothing with himself since graduation and has just been stagnating and becoming more and more bitter (which only amps up his shitty attitude when the player first meets him). So trying to get educated is doubly good for him because he can work toward his sports dream (in a way) and try to impress the farmer. Though of course, the thing that brings them closer is Alex learning to be true to himself 😊
This is getting long, so last thing: he's actually a really well-rounded homemaker but does not even think about it really. George has been disabled for a long time, so all of the handy work around the house has to be handled by Alex, and he's so eager to help out his grands. :3 They put a roof over his head so of course he'll climb up onto it to fix the leaks when it rains! Evelyn is always cooking and baking and Alex is so soft for his granny he has been in the kitchen helping her for as long as he's lived with them, so he's actually got a real talent for cooking and baking too! One of the first things he learned after moving in with them was the proper way to set a table, and the best way to wash dishes efficiently. He's spent enough time at Haley's house having no chemistry with the poor girl, but found Emily's whole sewing setup really fascinating and she taught him to mend the holes in his letterman jacket when he asked so he knows how to hand sew! These are all skills that he has but doesn't recognize as skills, he just inherently has this desire to help the people in his life so he picks up this and that to make it easier!
Anyway! Thank you for letting me ramble 😄 Alex is really sweet and soft underneath the mask he wears, and he's been rotating in my head for the last few months hehe
I had bought sdv when it came out but barely touched it, and started it up again on a whim earlier this year and I'm so glad I did!! I really adore the game and it's bringing me a lot of joy currently 🥺

Never Was
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I do not own supernatural or any characters. If a scene is altered or completely brand new, it is to fit the storyline of Y/N Winchester, Sam and Dean's little sister.
Dean: 35, Sam: 31, Y/N 23
“I may be your mother,” Mary said strictly. “But I am not just a Mom. And you are not a child.”
“I never was,” Dean forced out. Y/N looked up at her eldest brother as he said those words. She had never known much about his childhood, since she wasn’t born until he was fifteen. She looked back at Mary, and then at the floor. Dean’s hand was gripping the back of Y/N's chair as he spoke, and her other brother, Sam, was sitting next to her.
Mary looked like she had been slapped as he spoke, but her stern gaze lingered. “I’ve been playing thirty years of catch-up here,” Mary defended.
“And we’re not?” Dean asked, pointing to his younger siblings. Y/N shifted uncomfortably in her seat, wishing she could be anywhere but here. This was worse than any fight between their father and Dean.
"Mom, we've all lost years," Sam finally broke his silence, his voice soft but steady. "And we've all made sacrifices. It's not just about catch-up."
“I want to live my life outside of being just your Mom,” Mary said. "I want to be someone, not just someone's mother. I hope you can understand that," she finished, her voice trembling slightly as she held Dean's gaze.
“This isn’t simply moving out of the house,” Dean continued. “This isn’t moving in with a boyfriend, or having a one-night stand wounding up with another kid. You’re working with our enemies.”
Y/N could feel the room's temperature drop at Dean's words. The silence that followed was deafening, the tension palpable. She felt Sam stiffen next to her, his gaze locked on their mother. “They have the same intentions the three of you do,” Mary said.
"But they're not us, Mom," Sam said. "And they're not family. We are."
“You want to work with them?” Dean asked, his tone changing. “You want to do all of that, well then there’s the door Mary.” He left the siblings alone as he walked out of the room.
Y/N watched him leave, her heart aching for her family. She glanced at Sam, then at Mary, her young eyes filled with confusion and hurt. "I think... I think I need some air," Sam mumbled, excusing himself and following Dean out.
Y/N didn’t know how to react. She didn’t want to abandon her mother, but she also didn’t want to feel like she was betraying Dean, so she just sat at her chair, and looked at Mary. “You understand right?” Mary asked her.
“I understand you wanting to be more than just a Mom,” Y/N replied carefully. “But out of all people why the British Men of Letters?”
The question hung in the air, heavy with the weight of betrayal. Mary looked at her daughter, her eyes filled with a mixture of regret and determination, but she didn't answer. “Can you at least try to talk to Dean?” Mary pleaded. “I know he listens to you.”
“You want to use me to convince Dean why you’re — and I’m not saying you are — right?” she asked with disbelief.
"I just need him to listen," Mary said, her voice soft and desperate. "And I think you could help with that."
“He’ll know that it was you, Mom,” Y/N replied. “He’ll know that you sent me.”
"And maybe that will make him listen," Mary said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please, Y/N, we're family. We need to stick together, even when it's hard."
Y/N raised her eyebrow at her. “It’s hard because you made it hard. You chose them, not us.”
With that, she left Mary in the library, following Dean’s trail to his room, and knocked on his door. He didn’t answer, but it wasn’t a no. She pushed the door open gently, and found Dean laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. He looked at her, then laid his head back down, patting a spot next to him, and scooted over to the left. She laid down next to him after closing the door. “Mom send you over?” Dean asked.
Y/N chuckled slightly. “She tried to,” she admitted. “But I came here because I wanted to. Not because of Mom.”
Dean pet her head slightly. “That’s my girl,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “I don’t mean to say this to pressure you. But you’re the only person who’s never betrayed me, Y/N," Dean continued, his voice barely audible. "And I don't know what I'd do if you ever did."
Y/N knew Dean meant well. And she also knew that Sam has betrayed Dean in the past. So to hear him say those words was not only heartbreaking, but a relief to herself. It made her feel appreciated and important. She knew her relationship with Dean was special, and she would do everything in her power to preserve it. "I mean you did raise me," Y/N replied, her voice soft but firm. "I won't betray you, Dean. Not now, not ever."
“I raised Sam too,” Dean said sadly.
"But Sam and I, we're different," Y/N responded quietly, reaching out to squeeze Dean's hand. "And you know that. I promise, Dean, I'm not going anywhere."
“You’re a good kid, Y/N," Dean replied, squeezing her hand back. "And I'm grateful for you every single day."
Y/N smiled softly at his words. She always felt comforted by Dean's reassurances. "I'm grateful for you too, Dean," she whispered back, her voice filled with sincerity. "Always."
Y/N snuggled closer to Dean, and he wrapped a protective arm around her, rubbing her temple with his thumb gently. She felt safe in his embrace, knowing that no matter what came their way, they would always have each other. "Sleep tight, kiddo," Dean murmured, his voice soothing in the quiet room.
"I'm 23, Dean," she said.
"You're still my little sister," Dean replied.
With a soft sigh, she closed her eyes and let the rhythm of his heartbeat lull her to sleep. Dean stayed awake, continuing to stare at the ceiling. He couldn't shake off the disappointment and betrayal he felt. But as he looked at Y/N, peaceful and trusting, he knew he had to stay strong for her. Even if his own world was crumbling, he would keep hers intact. If anything, she deserved the stability and love he was able to provide. As the night grew darker, Dean promised himself to protect her from the pain, from the betrayals, and from the harsh realities of their lives, as long as he was able to do so. He meant what he said. She’s never betrayed him, never failed him. He wrapped his arm tighter around her. A silent vow echoed in the room - he would never let her down, just as she had never let him down.

Hi. I tend to forget that tumblr exists and just shout all my thoughts about The Winchesters on Twitter @CharCubed, which is a problem, but for once in my life I'm posting something here!
Here are some broad Thoughts on where I've landed of what this season 1 finale of The Winchesters offered–
• I very much want season 2 of this show SO badly. I want to see how they all continue to build their lives now that we know tragedy need not be their end! THIS IS THE HEALING SHOW. That whole cast gets to write their own story... "the only thing that's worse than how it starts for a hunter is how it ends" is no longer the case, as Carlos already said... and Dean helped to free them? That fucks.
• In regards to those possibilities: now that Dean would no longer be framing the prequel as a story he's telling, it frees the prequel up to no longer be doubling as Dean's story through revealing mirroring–which is very much what it's been doing for 12 episodes. Now the monster plots and the storylines for those characters in The Winchesters can also be diversified, so every episode no longer has to include, for example... [checks notes] a situation where a character is literally and/or metaphorically trapped and has to confront their trauma, break cycles of violence, and speak truths to be freed. It's been very Loud and very much Like This Constantly because it's Dean's story, but now it won't have to be anymore, which is an interesting thing to contemplate! (To be clear, for those unaware of my history of yelling about this show: I love that it was Like This. This show is fucking genius.)
• Initially, this finale had some alarm bells pinging in my brain but then I parsed the Reasons for those things. Mary told John she had "Something to say," right? And then she never says it. That's a Chekhov's gun that's never fired and it's of course paralleling how Dean has "something to say" to Cas too. Them not speaking that truth is a problem. In addition, we also got a montage eerily akin to the 15x19 one. But these callbacks / parallels to s15 all loudly indicate something very specific: The Winchesters is an unfinished story, and this finale (like the rest of this show) is mirroring and revealing truths about the prime narrative of SPN. For one thing, with the prequel they originally expected to have 22 or so episodes and ended up having 13 to work with. For another... this is the START of their story, not the end. So along those lines, what can we deduce about the end of season 15? (Hint: that finale is not an ending either.)
• Speaking of which: We learn that everything Dean was just doing takes place in the ~heavenly~ time period before Sam “dies." This all functionally happened right after Dean died as he drove down that road. He is restless, unmoored, grieving, and–this is key–considers his "ending" to be an unhappy happy one. He's fucking around and finding out, looking for and unpacking (through his narration) what he needs and wants for HIS happy ending to look like. He found out about the Akrida being a failsafe from Chuck and couldn't resist meddling to save everyone. It's also worth noting that Dean says to Jack something like, "If you have to kick me out of Heaven then that's fine." Between the lines is the thought of "please kick me out of Heaven, I'm causing problems because I'm grieving and I'm not done, I don't want this 'peace' but would rather have freedom." That in itself is a massive subversion of the SPN finale, to say nothing of the previous 12 episodes we've received.
Anyway. So in terms of Dean's story, we now know that this all takes place smack in the middle of 15x20 timeline-wise. This checks out because Bobby's presence connects to him being the only one we saw in 15x20. And... what I personally consider to be Jack's incredibly fucked up or ~potentially taken over by Chuck~ vibes are, in that sense, consistent with 15x19 as well. (I'm so sorry but please let me drop this cursed "Alex Calvert playing Chuck" joke by Jensen from August 2022 which haunts me.)
So: nothing about the concept that @chuckwon at the end of season 15 has been confirmed or denied in canon at this point. The idea that Chuck LOST, as Dean says here, is simply what Dean may still be thinking (which makes sense). But nothing has fundamentally changed about the state of how season 15 left things in the prime narrative yet... largely because that's not what this story is / was about.
In terms of what this finale presented to us, I think "Chuck won" potential was all deliberately left open. And I continue to Call Bullshit on the finale accordingly. A Chuck won plot line COULD be used in a future sequel to great affect, or it could NOT be used in a future sequel. That will be totally up to the future authors / team behind that potential sequel to see what story they choose to tell, and where it all may or may not go. But until then (on that front) right now it's the same shit, different show, and deliberately literally nothing about that potential has changed.
• I LOVE all of the above now that I've parsed it all in my brain. It makes perfect sense. Much like we were never going see the gay angel pop up in this show and kiss Dean (with apologies to anyone who somehow thought otherwise?)... leaving other things open like this is fantastic and the objectively correct call. Dean's story is HIS story to be furthered elsewhere, whereas this show belonged and continues to belong to its cast of characters who must take center stage. But through this story within a story narrated by Dean himself, we learned a hell of a lot about his state of mind as it actively stands in 15x20. Or more accurately: the entire show reinforces and reiterates comprehensively and repeatedly that the SPN finale was wrong and bad and not the end of the story at all, and now canonically and openly and in no uncertain terms that that's how Dean feels too.
• AND THUS: season 1 of The Winchesters works as deeply clever and layered commentary on Supernatural's ending and presents the stepping stone for a sequel continuation for Dean and his family. It's also the beginning of a new chapter with endless potential for The Winchesters' cast of characters who are not tied to fate or main timeline.
I fucking love it here.
Truly, madly, deeply: ALL HAIL ROBBIE THOMPSON.
And seriously, I really hope we get a season 2 because I adore all of the prequel's characters on their own merit and I want to see what their story can become :')

3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
"Keeley is a maternal figure for Jamie." my sibling in christ. what are you and your mama up to. those two FUCK and they LIKE IT. also Jamie already has a mummy. he never took her poster off his wank wall for fuck's sake she ain't a maternal figure for him (now she might be mommy buuuuut i ain't getting into alla THAT)
"Jamie and Georgie's interactions were borderline incestuous in Mom City." y'all can't talk about dismantling the patriarchy and toxic masculinity and turn around and call it "developmentally inappropriate" for a grown man to cuddle his mummy when he's upset and depressed. especially because i know, i KNOW y'all wouldn't have said that if Georgie was Dottie Lasso shaped. y'all didn't say that when Sam was cuddling with Ola. y'all said it because you turned that woman into a sexual object. unpack that shit
edited i forgot the cut lmao
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Jamie is a secretly self-loathing insecure mess. Did you watch the show? not once, not ONCE has Jamie demonstrated self-loathing or a lack of self-confidence. He had to learn how to not treat other people like shit, not how to hate himself.
Roy is a perfect uwu bean who has never been mean in his life ever ever. again. have you watched this show? in season one he was a whole 38 year old grown ass adult legend in his own time beefing with a fucking 23 year old whose best insult was calling him granddad. be for fucking real. and he didn't even try to captain that team until Ted jedi mind gamed him into it because he was wallowing in self-pity. i love him, but season one Roy was absolutely as unbearable as season one Jamie, the narrative just emotionally manipulated us about it differently. that's what makes him interesting. perfect soft uwu bean boy is BORING stop trying to convince me Roy is boring
Ted is depressed and suicidal and sacrificing his happiness in kansas. Shut the entire fuck up. That man was yelling about how homesick he was for kansas every chance he had for the entire run of the show. Also related is the "ted gave up his entire richmond family and support system to go back to kansas" hmm did he though? Realistically, did he really develop a close knit community and support system in richmond? other than the diamond dogs, whom he routinely ignored? all of his interactions with the wider richmond community (the pub, the shopkeepers, etc) were superficial. he never even learned to drive there. he never put down roots there and he didn't want to, because he wanted to go home to Henry, and he wanted to go home to KANSAS. don't even talk to me about the rebecca soulmates thing you can still be friends with people even if you don't live in the same country
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified that you actually kind of like…
Nate/Jade. look, my feelings about nate are complicated because they dropped the ball on showing instead of telling, which is bullshit because nick mohammed woulda ATE. i subscribe to the theory that they had a much more expansive storyline planned for Nate and rethought it after being surprised by how vitriolic and racist the hate was after season 2. unFORTUNATELY, that meant they didn't close the loop on what they already did, and tried to fill the gap with a girlfriend, which is a trope i loathe. on the other hand, Jade is fucking awesome and i can't help liking them and the way she affectionately trolls him mercilessly. i'm not even getting into the idiots on this hellsite trying to insist that Jade's behavior towards him was racist. she's a customer service employee who's seen a million insecure men trying to play games in her face and she treated him accordingly until he quit it with his nonsense, and then she gave him a chance because Nate is actually lovely when he's squashing his tendency to be a vicious cruel jerk

I've been so tuned out of spn and spn fandom happenings, I didn't even learn until just now that some weeks back Jared said at a CE con that he wishes they'd done more with Eileen.
Now I'm laughing. The unintentional comedy stylings of Jared P*d*l*cki, everyone!
Not even mad, tbh. Just remembering his disregard for the character and the Sam/Eileen relationship. How he made comments speaking for Dean pov in a way that flatly contradicted every statement Dean himself ever made rooting for Sam and Eileen, but canon, what's that? Dean who? Dean's actual self-evident hopes, the fact that Dean was the #1 Saileen shipper, totally irrelevant when brosonlies are in a panic about Sam or Dean having anyone, anyone at all, anyone whatsoever, besides only each other.
Watching them scramble frantically a few weeks back when Jared dropped this wish for more Eileen to deny that more Sam/Eileen relationship stuff is even possible also greatly amuses me. "Jared only meant Eileen not Sam/Eileen!!!" lmfao okay?? Breathe!!! LOL
I really loved Saileen but I'll be glad either way just to get Eileen back, while the brosonly Sam stans will be screeching with rage because "spn is only about Sam and Dean not SIDE CHARACTERS *raeg raeg*" after they performatively virtue signaled about how much they love Eileen so long as she doesn't get her icky gross cooties breathing too close to Sam.
They also kept slamming all the Saileen shippers, going on and on how anyone who shipped Saileen was only doing it as part of some nefarious plot to keep Sam away from Dean and no other reason. Meanwhile, the Sam and Eileen dynamic was absolutely delightful, it's one of the best relationships Sam ever had, Jared and Shoshannah had lovely chemistry, I enjoyed every Sam and and Eileen moment. Wow yes how monstrous of me, I enjoyed seeing Sam with a layered, good-hearted human who worked well with him and cared about him and they related to each other and they were good together!! What in the evil Sam hatred!!! LMFAO
Anyone who was on twitter at the time may also remember how they spewed hatred against the ship, gatekeeping, romance shaming, and spewing no-romo and anti-romo hatred, because Eileen somehow would no longer count as a badass female character if she's having sex with Sam, and then they tried to dress their ship hate up as progressive because of how it would supposedly "demean" Eileen.
All of which went in full contradiction of the statements of Shoshannah Stern, a deaf actor playing a deaf character, who spoke in interviews at length about how important it was not only that Eileen was a kickass hunter but why it was significant having a disabled character in a romance with one of the lead heroes on a notable genre tv series.
Meanwhile, the Sam stan twitter brigade pretending to be progressive: "ew icky gross"
As for Jared, yeah, this is just COMEDY. He wasn't supportive, now suddenly he's talking about how he's sorry there wasn't more Eileen. Okay, dude.
He also said he was sorry there wasn't more Michael Dean and same thing. Where was he when Jensen needed support, when that storyline was cut off, and when the ending screwed Dean over while Jared got what he wanted, and when most of his base which pretty much hates everyone who isn't Sam and Dean, got what they wanted.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if we can have Eileen back in the revival. I don't know if this means we will or not. But I'm all for it. Yes please let's!!! I just don't think there's substance behind Jared changing his tune. And he did nothing to discourage the hatred from his own base against her and against the ship, and then eagerly went along with how the final eps of spn pandered to their desire for her character and that relationship to be wiped from the story.

Eve Best as Farah Dowling I Fate: The Winx Saga S1 - S2
I was meant to post this when the one anniversary of season 2 dropped but life happened. (Little bit of a rant coming just fyi)
So the show got cancelled (boo!) and well, this happened. I have to admit this one really hurt. Ugh. I knew this was a possibility since Eve was working on HOTD and schedules were tough especially since they were still protocols to follow. But the writing of it all just made it ten times worse.
At least we got to say goodbye to her in a way in the show, and I know that hug was not only for Bloom but for all of us in this corner of the fandom, the ones who flooded Bryan and Fate's insta accounts with the hashtag 'bringfarahback', I just know they did all of this to give us some sort of closure and while it wasn't what most of us (certainly not me lol) expected at least we got to hear her as Farah one more time.
While I did enjoyed some aspects of S2 (mostly Terra and the fact that we got to see Rob and Ken more on screen) and saw improvements from the first one, sometimes it did feel like a different show than what we first saw. I was left kinda disappointed with the way they handled some characters and their storylines. Sam? What was that?
And don't even get me started on Saul's lack of reaction towards Farah?! I won't ever understand it. And I'm not saying this because I am a shipper but the woman that you fought alongside for years, was friends with for decades died and gave us absolutely nothing? Not a single reaction? Ok. (I have a headcanon to explain this otherwise it just hurts my soul lol)
And hello? The fact that the season was meant to have one more episode and it was scrapped?
It's like they couldn't figure out if they wanted to go full on with this version of the show or go full cartoon version or a mix of both and the result of it is what we got. I really hope that the fans of the cartoon get what they want from a live action soon.
But hey, I got attached to this group of magic fairies (and their teachers lol) and I do miss them.
I could talk about this for hours, but I'm gonna stay with all the positive this show gave me, which is some pretty cool people I got to talk to and fangirl with and all those months we spent theorizing and talking about our favorite trio. When I say I love our corner of the fandom I really do mean it.
PS: I was sure that if the show kept going she would've of come back one way or another, maybe in a future season. But hey, she will be alive and well in all of our fics :)

Honey - Steve Harrington x Single Mother! Reader - pt 1
This is just from a random thought I had a little while ago and how freaking cute it would be, in this series, it's all set after the show is over and done with basically, there is no more trouble coming from the upside down, it follows the basic storyline with the other characters too, but Eddie does not die!!!
Anyway! Enjoy! _________________________________
3rd Person Pov
Steve couldn't believe his rotten luck. His mom had managed to grab him before he could leave the house for work, asking him if he'd take a basket of goodies across the street. Apparently some new neighbours had just moved in and she wanted to welcome them to the neighbourhood.
Steve's mother hadn't always done this, but after more and more people started to leave Hawkins because of the weird stuff that happened there, there were less neighbours around to impress.
He wished he could just say no, that he would be late if he did this, but he knew he'd hear and earful from both of his parents so he just nodded with a plastic smile, taking the basket and heading out the door. Steve knew he'd only have to deal with this for another week or so, most of his stuff had been packed up, he was just waiting for his next day off to move out.
Steve smiled as he thought about his new place, he couldn't afford a place of his own quite yet, neither could Robin, or Eddie, so they decided they would find a place together. The three of them got along great, even if Steve was the most mature one (truly a worrying thought). Leaving his green Family Video vest on the hood of his car, Steve made his way over to the house with the very recently added 'sold' sign.
He wasn't sure what to expect when he knocked on the door, actually, that wasn't true. He knew exactly what to expect. Nobody interesting ever moved here, it was probably an older couple, recently retired, looking for a place to finally settle. Or a couple of strung up desk jockeys like his dad.
So when a small girl, about four or five, answered the front door, coming down off of her tiptoes from reaching for the door handle, Steve was genuinely shocked.
She was tiny, chestnut ringlets that reached just under her chin, big brown eyes that made Steve melt and a cute smattering of freckles across her cheeks, holding a soft blanket and sucking her thumb. Steve was truly surprised, this was certainly not who he had expected, but he still bent down and put a soft smile on his face.
"Hey there, is your mom or dad home?" He practically whispered, his voice changing completely to accommodate the child in his presence. She mere nodded at him, reaching to grab his free hand and began tugging him into the house. This certainly was not how he expected his Monday to begin.
Being tugged by a being that was probably a quarter of his height was rather daunting, especially when he was also carrying a fairly heavy gift. Steve was fairly worried about being in a stranger's house, what if he never left it? What if this kid was a ploy to get people to enter? What if...?
All those questions went out the window. As he was dragged into the kitchen, his breath was taken by the sight in front of him. A beautiful woman, couldn't have been any older than he was, cradling a baby, swaddled in blue, close to her chest, humming softly. Somehow she was also able to make breakfast for the other little one, smiling as she did so.
To Steve, this was everything he had ever wanted. It was so pure, so sweetly domestic. That was when the beauty looked up, seeing him being led in by, what he now assumed was her daughter. Steve expected to have something thrown at him, in all honesty, who wouldn't when there was a random man in their home, holding onto their child's hand.
Her smile dropped slightly, but didn't disappear, she looked at her daughter and asked in a quiet voice, not wanting to disturb the baby, "Who's this Sam?" Steve felt his knees buckle slightly at the sound of her voice.
The girl, now known as Sam, shrugged her shoulders, let go of Steve's hand and wandered off, clutching her blanket still. Chuckling at the little girl, the woman's smile returned, waving Steve to the breakfast bar, offering him a seat.
Steve swallowed his nerves, that had sprung up very suddenly, and took a seat. The woman smiled at him, clearly seeing his nervousness, and offered him a cup of coffee, which he politely refused. The woman nodded, "So, why did my daughter drag you into the house? I assume you're here for something?" She asked, pouring a glass of orange juice and setting it down in front of him.
Steve smiled at the woman and nodded, taking a sip of the juice. "Yeah, sorry about that!" He said, scratching the back of his neck, "I just came to drop this off, my mom asked me to bring it over. We live across the street, I'm Steve, Steve Harrington." He told her, keeping his voice low and even to avoid disturbing the baby.
The woman grinned at him, looking at the basket his mother had made up, there was all sorts of stuff in there, a bottle of wine, nice cheeses, some bath stuff and a few other things. "Well tell your mother I said thank you, not many people would be happy with new neighbours such as us..." She trailed off, looking down and the baby in her arms, before her smile returned.
"I'm (y/n) (l/n), you've obviously already met Samantha, and this is Jamie." She cooed, bouncing the boy in her arms. Steve smiled at the woman, (y/n), what a lovely name.
Steve thought back on something that (y/n) had said, "You said something earlier, about not many people being happy with neighbours like you? What did you mean by that? Not that you have to tell me, I was just curious!" He stammered, not wanting to offend the woman in front of him.
(y/n) simply giggled, a honeyed laugh that Steve would do anything to be able to hear again. "It's not a problem, it's just that usually a woman as young as me with two children is usually only accepted by the neighbourhood if she'd married, which I am not." She chuckled, leaning to give baby Jamie a kiss when he stirred.
Steve felt his heart jump, a few times, she was single? Did that mean he may have had a shot? Obviously he wouldn't just ask her out immediately, she had two kids to think about first and she'd just moved in, she probably wanted to get settled before even thinking about dating a random guy that just walked into her home.
But the idea that he could be a part of this kind of life, waking up to two beautiful children every morning, his wife in the kitchen making breakfast, making sure he had something to eat and drink before he left for work or to get the kids to school, the idea made him ache.
Speaking of work...
Steve took a look at his watch and realised that he really was going to be late now, so he quickly swigged his juice, "I am so so sorry, I'd love to stay and talk more but I've got to get to work..." (y/n) looked up at him with shining eyes, confused at why he had shot up so quickly, "If you need anything," He began writing his phone number down on a sheet of paper, "Please give me a call, avoid talking to my parents if you can!" He joked, only somewhat serious.
Leaving his glass in the sink, he began leaving, saying goodbye to (y/n) and Jamie, and waving with a soft smile at Samantha, who had been peeking at him from around the corner, before leaving for work.
___________________
Running from his car and into Family Video, Steve was already apologising profusely to Robin, who was glaring at him from behind the counter. He wound up being half an hour late, meaning Robin had to open up without him.
Robin began tapping her fingers on the counter top, something she only did when she was trying to calm her anger for Steve. "I get it, you're sorry! But what the hell took you so long! I had to cover for your ass!" Steve apologised again, shucking his vest on and starting to re-shelve the returned movies.
"I know, I'm so sorry! My mom asked me to take something over to the new neighbours and I sort of lost track of time..." He explained, his mind already drifting off to thinking about the woman he'd left behind, he would much rather be helping her move heavy boxes than be here.
Robin looked at him sceptically from across the room, she'd seen that look on his face before.
"Who's the girl?" She asked, blatantly. Steve panicked, dropping the pile of tapes. Looking back at Robin, she now had an annoying smirk on her face, she knew she was right on the money and was now being smug about it.
"I- No, there's- I mean-!" Steve tried to lie his way out of it, only to sigh and give up, he knew Robin knew him better than that, he wouldn't get away with it. "Her name's (y/n)..." He muttered, already feeling his cheeks turn pink at the thought of her.
Robin smiled in victory, jumping over the counter to get closer to Steve, already forgiving him for being late, now she was interested in something else. "I knew it! Spill! I wanna hear everything!" She cheered, it wasn't rare for Steve to be interested in someone, but for him to try and lie about it? Or even for the thought of this woman to make him so shy and nervous, she must have been something special.
Steve smiled at his best friend, "She's amazing, I barely know her of course, but she's sweet and thoughtful and has these two kids that are just ador-"
Robin stopped him.
"Wait, she has kids? Steve are you getting a crush on a married woman!?" She hollered, smacking his arm. Having feelings for a girl is normal for Steve, but a married woman is something Robin couldn't abide.
"Ow! No! She's not married, she's a single mom! She told me she was surprised my mom would send her anything because small towns usually aren't accepting her for being single with two kids!" Steve explained frantically, as Robin chased him, throwing pens at him.
Robin stopped in her tracks, "Oh, well that's okay then!" She said, "Anyway! Continue!" She said, beginning to pick up the things she'd thrown at him.
Steve shook his head with a chuckle, "She's got a girl and a boy, I don't know exactly how old they are, but one of them's still a baby. (y/n)'s just amazing! She's got the kids, but she still manages to make breakfast for them, with a smile on her face. She invited me in and immediately offered to make me a coffee, I said no, politely, but she still gave me juice."
Robin looked at him, "Wow, you're smitten!" She shouted, beginning to once again chase him around Family Video. And as Steve was running away, he couldn't help but question it... Was he smitten?
Yeah, yeah he was.

My thoughts on the Billy and Sam storyline ‼️
- bare with me, I got a lot to say about this.
• First of all- I will say I absolutely love and hate this storyline- I love it because I love Sam and Billy, I hate it because some parts felt iffy BUT ANYWAYS.
• Starting in the first movie here- hallway scene. We see two girls walk past Billy as Sid runs into him- after one of the girls pass, another passes and says “Hey christy, wait up!” Christina carpenter!! Anyways- he seems a bit distracted, doesn’t he?
Tumblr media
You can see him look away for a moment midconvo- NOW I WILL SAY. This could just be his mannerisms, however, for this let’s say it’s not.
• this would mean that He might’ve had a fling with Christina sometime during his relationship with Sid. Not a shocker, really, considering he didn’t really seem to actually love her.
•Skip forward, Billys dead, Sam learns he’s her father, she’s an adult and has a little sister Tara.
• Sam sees hallucinations of Billy often in reflective surfaces, reason being: he’s her father. Once she knows this, and knows what he did, it causes her to distance from her family and woodsboro as she’s not keen on the idea of being like him.
• Billy kinda acts like herrrr.. “Dark Passenger”, so to speak. [if any of you get this reference I’m forever happy.]
• First time we see Ghostly Billy, it’s in the hospital. And Billy mentions that Sam needs to tell Tara why she’s being targeted. So, Sam does this.
• Later, we see Billy in the car with Sam and he’s being a silly stupid menace. He’s basically just like “let’s fucking stab whoever is doing this to you and your sister! Cmon! Stabby stab!”
• Now, you could interpret this as Billy caring about Sam and Tara. OR you could interpret this as Sam thinking that maybe Billy would actually care if he was around. Either way, this scene makes him a Grey character. As he still wants to commit murder through Sam, he’s suggesting this because it’s his kid in danger. It’s a grey character thing.
• Later, at the end of the movie, Sam sees him again. This time, it’s because her boyfriend Richie is about to murder her. Billy nods over to the knife, and when Sam looks at it then back at him, he kinda gives a nod. Which, could be a nod of approval. Which again, shows that maybe Billy could care about his kid.
• Scream 6. Sam reveals that killing Richie was pretty damn easy, because it meant her and Tara would be safe. However, because of this, she becomes the town pariah. They took Billy’s whole plan, and made it sound like her. Meaning they think she committed all the murders and pinned it on Richie. [which by the way, I didn’t like so much. Redundancy.]
• one thing I wanna mention, I believe it was Gale who mentioned Billy AND stu as killers. Most forget stu, think he was just a lapdog when he was in fact VERY IMPORTANT.
• Anyways. Sam comes across all the robes and knives with the robes and she’s immediately drawn to Billy’s.
• Sam gets her hallucinations back and the first thing Billy says is something like “How cool is this place-” and you can tell by her demeanor she’s unsettled.
• Team Loomis ‼️
• Sam ends up Taking said Robe and knife at the end of the movie to kill the ghostfaces who’re after her because of Richies death
• She doesn’t want to, because then she’s be proving to Billy that she’s a killer just like him. But she needs to survive. She really does.
• She gets a little knife happy, but that’s okay because she’s a Loomis
• TARA is actually the one who gets her to commit the final murder which I think is a slay EBDJSND
• At the very end of the movie, Sam looks at the mask in her hand [Which is billys] and then she drops it. It’s symbolic in a way, showing she’s lowkey kinda over this Loomis shit.
• I LOVE LOVE LOVE this storyline because it shows how Sam grows, and it also gives us a little bit of grey character Billy moment
[Reblogs appreciated, but not forced!] [ @smashlovesscream ]

been on the until dawn subreddit recently and a couple of recent posts got me thinking so I wanna ask a question and see some community thoughts
in case y'all didn't know, there was an interview back in like 2015 with Will Byles, creative director, where it was revealed that until dawn had a cut pregnancy storyline, though they never revealed who it was and who with, just that it existed but got taken out for being too distracting from the main storyline
so...
I've seen arguments for most of the girls, so I wanna add those here, just in case y'all want some more info before you vote
SAM
The argument for Sam focuses mostly on her 'I thought we had a connection' line with Josh, making his spiral and inevitable death/turn more tragic, and it helps pair the two more when they're the odd singletons in a cast of romantic couples. also, Sam's stomach-centric death adds a nice layer of tragedy to the whole situation
EMILY
This one's pretty easy, it's the Mike/Matt drama turned up to eleven. You can throw in speculation on who the father is, if there was cheating involved, all that fun stuff
JESS
She fills the horror stereotype of slut, so being pregnant ties into that, and with how little presence she has in the final game it could make sense that a storyline of hers was cut and dropped her screentime
ASH
Admittedly, I don't think it was Ash, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone argue for it being her, so purely for the shock value of it I think she's still a contender, and it could have maybe played into the 'whose life do you save?' traps, kinda like the Saw shotgun carousel trap
HANNAH
Now, I only recently saw an argument for this, I'd never considered her, but in an earlier version of the game Josh was apparently actually her boyfriend and not her brother, and her being pregnant when disappearing could make the revenge plot hit a Lot harder
BETH
Honestly, she's just here because all the other girls are. I genuinely cannot think of a single reason why it would be Beth - she has too little presence for even the shock factor that Ash could have, it wouldn't really mean anything, but she's still possible as long as nothing is confirmed so. there she is
so yeah! I'd love it if y'all could vote and maybe share your own thoughts and opinions!

Thinking about how great CATWS was and how Marvel dropped the ball on all the characters from that movie.
Steve? Got character assassinated beyond repair.
Natasha? Killed off, didn't even get an on-screen funeral and her only solo movie was more about introducing Yelena than her.
Bucky? Never got a prober story, was victim blamed, and will possibly die in Thunderbolts.
Nick Fury? Got character assassinated in Secret Invasion.
Maria Hill? Was killed off in SI.
Sharon Carter? Turned into a villian.
Sam Wilson? Unlike the rest they haven't completely fumbled the bag with his character but he was still screwed by FATWS in many ways, and his first solo movie doesn't look very promising either.
Also consider that their sequel to the movie where we find out Howard Stark knew about Nazis in SHIELD (the specific Nazi that tortured Bucky and killed members of the 107, and tried to kill Steve) ...was a movie where Howard is assassinated by Hydra and yet Bucky gets blamed and brutally attacked for it. Even though this is the same movie where we find out Bucky was mind-controlled.
And their sequel to the movie where we find out Peggy knew about Nazis in SHIELD is..... Uh. Nothing. They never address it. A character who died offscreen gets screen time wasted on a fulblown Royal funeral (attended by people who didn't even fucking know her!!)
They treat her like some kind of living saint, to the point where she's now a full blown Mary Sue, with yet another bloody tv show where every storyline must be about her, and her possessing Steve, and Steve is reduced to a Stepford Husband wheeled out to repeat 'Peggy. Is. Perfect' type lines. 😬 (Steve. Blink if you need rescuing.)
All Bucky's everything now belongs to Peggy.
Oh, apart from the blame of course! He gets to keep all of that! 🙂
(Oh, and as per What If, Sam is no longer part of CATWS, his own intro movie, and even Natasha's own movie is now about- guess who?? Peggy! And Peggy having Steve!)
Apparently Sharon has been turned into a villain in the comics, too. Just as they start product-synergy introducing MCU!Peggy to over-ride comics Peggy. I wonder why...
(It's so funny that TFATWS assigned MCU-Sharon MCU-Peggy's annoyance at being overlooked by men (cough the man she's relentlessly hitting on cough) and decided that this would be her villain origin story... and yet nobody has connected the dots to Peggy and her behaviour?)
Sharon and Sam's characterisation only feels like an organic continuation because, frankly, the MCU never bothered to write them being particularly nice people to begin with?
Sam being a fratbro-style dick to Bucky in TFATWS, with a side of dispensing unsound self-contradictory counselling advice, is consistent with being a dick to Bucky (and arguing against helping him) since CATWS and quitting a counselling job at the drop of a hat. (Only the 1980s movie locker-room homophobia queerbait is new.)
Sharon being a villain is consistent with being a Carter not being asked to join the 'bringing down Hydra' team in CATWS, dressing up as the same profession as Steve's dead mother to 'befriend' him while she's just spying on him (contrast: the calling-out Nat got from Steve just for not telling him something), staying in SHIELD while they were hunting down Steve and Natasha, immediately joining the CIA (aka, the people who just happen to have a superhero-proof electric chair and want to shoot Bucky on sight, who also have Everett 'ex-husband of Madame Hydra who laughs at the idea of Bucky getting a lawyer' Ross on staff), ...which is easily infiltrated by a (thinly-veiled-Hydra) villain who wants to mind-control TWS to bring down the Avengers (deja vu??), being snippy to Sam for no reason, continuing to lie about herself beyond the point of it being necessary, and also being a creep who expects a thank you kiss from Steve just for doing one basic helpful thing when asked. *phew!*
But the geniuses who inherited the job of writing her in TFATWS can't see any of that... They see no issues, so they think they've written her 'turning' bad. The writing is still shonky because it still isn't self-aware about what it's portraying. The cognitive dissonance is still dissonant.
(Same problem with Fury. They keep giving him 'bad' things to do, showing him instinctively first joining the 'bad side', eg. Pierce's SHIELD, the Kree, etc. But with the exclusion of Steve yelling at him in CATWS -- and only so that Nick gets called out, but not precious Saint Margaret, ofc -- it's never addressed. They can't do anything interesting with the moral charcoal that they've accidentally cooked up, because they aren't even aware that it's there. 🤦‍♀️)
We were mercifully spared from Joss Whedon's terrible ideas for Maria... (supposed to be a villain in A1, baffled as to what to do with a female character so obviously she should be hinted as a love interest for Steve out of fuckn nowhere in A2) ...only to end like that.
Outside of that AOU Avengers party, where she was chill and kinda gay, I feel like the best characterisation we got for her was when- was it in one of the Spidey movies?? -she was a Skrull. 😤 If only I could say the same of Steve...

aw yeah lets do this
S-Tier, AKA the Legitimately Good Tier:
HAWKEYE: Maybe my favorite MCU thing I have ever watched.
+ If you let Jeremy Renner actually act and give him a script, he's fucking great. + Kate Bishop is a perfect mess and I love her, I love she's young and excitable but also takes things seriously, she feels like she's a work in progress, I love her. + MAYA. Holy shit the gravity well of this character, how her presence dictates any scene she is in. Truly stellar. + This entire miniseries is like an extended apology for Hawkeye in every other appearance. "Sorry we dropped the ball with this character so consistently, we will bring the A game here." + The importance of disability. I'm among the ppl who was upset that Hawkeye's disability was dropped, so the way it is centered over and over and over in this, how its practical, how it's funny, how it's sad, how it gives us the most devastatingly emotional scene in all of the MCU yes I am talking about the phone call scene, finally. Fucking finally. + Florence fucking Pugh and her entire charm offensive. + The car chase scene.
- The first episode is unfortunately REALLY slow. - Nah that's all I got. I love this one.
THOR: RAGNAROK
+ "Asgard isn't a place, it's a people" is maybe the most poignant message any MCU film has ever managed. + Literally the funniest movie, but also basically a repair job of character building for everyone in it. + The camerawork in this one makes me so happy. + Tom Hiddleston is given so much to do and he's there with heels on, spectacular. + The giant turret/pegging visual pun, god bless. + Cate Blanchett can kill me.
- uuuuuuuuh. It's not as good as Hawkeye. Yeah.
GOTG Vol 2
+ Sorry but I am a GOTG Truther, I really do think its the one storyline in the MCU that is allowed to get away with really fucking intense character drama because it's not considered "main line." There is a reason ppl rioted when they tried to remove Gunn, and I'm with them. + The only good thing Chris Pratt has done since Parks and Rec. + The way this storyline centers on death and grief is devastating. + Rocket Racoon is the best character in the MCU and we all know it.
- I think the initial treatment of Mantis is REALLY rough even though in the end I think it works, but that's a hell of a hump to get over.
A-TIER, AKA the Great for a MCU Flick Tier:
BLACK PANTHER
+ My biggest problem with the MCU is the creative desert of its set and costume design, the way it feels like nothing is given time to breathe in the creative process. BP is the antithesis of that. I would watch a four hour documentary just on the visual design of this movie, from the architecture to the costumes to the make-up, everything. I don't want to hear from the director or writers, I want to hear four hours of just the craftspeople talking about their work. It's monumental. + Best Villain in the MCU, bar none. + Only MCU film to move me to actual tears in the movie theatre.
- I loved this movie! For the life of me I could not tell you the plot. I understand the plot of every Mission Impossible film but I don't know the plot of this movie. - If this movie was allowed to cut, like, 20 minutes of action and replace it with more character drama, it'd be the best MCU film.
IRON MAN 3
+ The MCU Movie That Pulls Exactly Zero Punches About Being About Mental Health And PTSD Holy Shit + Rhodey and Pepper get so much to do and I like an ensemble piece so much + Shane Black is in love with RDJ and I'm so happy for him + Pepper gets to be a lil monsterfied and that's hot
- Doesn't have Sam Rockwell. - The plot is kinda fully secondary to the character work, which imo is fine, but yanno.
GOTG Vol 1
+ All the stuff I said about GOTG Vol 1
- It's not Vol 2, which benefits from having all the bedrock foundation built by this movie to spring from.
B-TIER, AKA It's Fine I Guess:
IRON MAN 1
It's good! It invented the wheel! Part of it are fucking agonizingly painful to watch in 2023 but it also has more heart than 80% of the franchise so.
IN A CAVE. WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS.
LOKI
Okay it feels shitty of me to judge this one on its technical faults bc apparently it was shot during the pandemic and that causes a lot of the issues with the camerawork, the awkward editing, and just how Weird everything was put together. But also it's REALLY stilted and awkward, which butts up against the good script and the better acting, so IDK man.
Owen Wilson is amazing. Even my mother thought the way they canonized Loki being bi was a cop-out. And the final twist pissed me off. I hope Season 2 is better.
THOR 1
I DUNNO WHAT TO TELL YOU, BUT KENNETH BRANAGH UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT.
DR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS
This movie is a mess but once i figured out it was trying to be The MCU Does Gothic Horror, I was a lot more on board. It has all the flaws of the original Dr Strange and is hard to visually follow like most MCU films, but also has America Chavez, who I adore.
IRON MAN 2
It has Sam Rockwell, I don't give a fuck.
C-TIER, AKA I wish I cared but I do not 8C
DR STRANGE
I dunno I like the actual character of Strange weirdly, I like what a complete fucking asshole he is, I like his god complex and how he reacts to his disability as a surgeon. On the other hand what the fuck is Tilda Swinton doing here, this is just awful. My biggest issue with this film is that it didn't have to be this terrible but every decision made about it feels so fucking thoughtless and myopic.
WANDAVISION
yanno. i cannot even explain why i fell off this so hard. Like, this one Had Me all the way up to and including the Agatha reveal, but like the final episodes after that reveal somehow left me completely cold and uncaring. it's genuinely weird.
D-TIER, AKA Oh my god no thank you
AVENGERS
I hate the writing. Like, I haaaaate the writing. I feel like the only likeable relationship in this is Tony and Bruce, and that does not carry this movie. The quip-driven writing, the way the need for a joke supercedes naturalistic voices and dialogue making sense, it pisses me off. I hate the writing. Heartless movie.
BLACK WIDOW
oh my god i'm actively angry at this movie okay because for the first 20 minutes, I was like "wait, is this going to be a real movie," because it felt smaller, the action felt more realistic, that fight between the Widow and Yelena in the beginning felt like it could have been out of MI: Fallout, and the other fight between Natasha and Yelena in the safehouse was also good, I really thought for a few moments that this could be Good
and then it just took a hard right into The MCU Tries And Fails To Make MI: Fallout (They Even Stole The Mask Gag, What The Fuck Was That) and not only was I disappointed, I was like retroactively pissed for the 20 minutes when I had hope in my heart. If not for David Harbour's character, I would have just left in the middle of this movie.
AVENGERS: ENDGAME
Its not at bad as Infinity War! Nebula and Rocket carried this movie on their fucking backs. But what do I know, I liked Renner's mohawk of sadness.
F-Tier, AKA Fuck This Movie
INFINITY WAR
Fuck this movie with a rusted steel dildo, fuck this entire fucking movie, I despise it. The writing is so actively fucking terrible I want to fistfight whoever is responsible. I fucking hate the attempts to humanize Thanos over how sad he is about the daughter he abused and then murdered, boo fucking hoo, I hate the joylessness of the superhero combinations, I hate the quip-driven writing, I hate this movie with a burning passion. This might be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Soulless and destitute.

One week on and I still haven't fully articulated how I really feel about Daisy Jones and The Six season finale because I am quite conflicted about it. The truth is even though I like a lot of the things that happened including some changes from the book, largely I just feel vaguely dissatisfied with the way it ended.
There were many episodes where it felt like the story seemed to have fast-forwarded over events we didn't see unfold on the screen. I now understand this is because a lot of the scenes were cut to fit the whole series into a 10-episode storyline. This is a problem. Some examples:
How Daisy and Billy fell in love. We know they fell deeply and hopelessly in love, because we read the book. Those who hadn't read it could buy this because of Sam Claflin's eye acting (the man has mastered the look) and frankly because Riley and Sam just have crazy chemistry that even without explanation, if you ask them to gaze into each other's eyes, you'll feel the sexual energy. But the how of it all largely happened off screen. I would have liked to see the process happen to maximize said chemistry between the actors, and to really land the emotional turmoil and dilemma at the heart of the story. Without the excellent performances, they wouldn't have been able to sell that love to the audience because it wasn't shown.
The songs' significance. We got like 5 songs! Honeycomb, Let Me Down Easy, Please (which we didn't even hear performed), More Fun to Miss and Regret Me. The rest - how did Billy and Daisy come up with those and what the hell were they about? We know they're about the push-pull between the two or something, but some explanation would have helped! Discovering how they came up with those songs and those lyrics would have enriched the story and the music.
The bond between the band mates. Okay we know the Dunne Brothers were close, and Karen was able to assimilate into the group quite quickly, but how about Daisy? How did she form bonds with everyone? We didn't even get any moments between her and Eddie or Graham. How did her friendship with Karen grow? I give a shit about these things but didn't get to see them happen. Her leaving the band at the end, saying it was her family - sheesh, I didn't feel that. How close were they even? Or did she just mean Billy, Karen, and to some degree Warren? Riley was excellent, and without her that whole Honeycomb sequence would have fallen apart meaninglessly.
Simone and Bernie actually made it work. Huh?! The last scene of them together in episode 9, with Two Against Three in the background, was Simone leaving with her bags and Bernie crying on the couch. Then in episode 10 Simone and Daisy eat together and she says she actually turned down Attic Records and reconciled with Bernie. I would have liked to see how that happened! The disconnect between what was shown and what was told was jarring.
Daisy doesn't want to be broken. Oh I love this scene, and Riley's delivery of that line. But I can't for the life of me ignore the sense that I missed something there - that was the last time she held him! That was the last time they were intimate! Did she realize she had to let him go and leave the band at that very moment? Again, I got that sense of being fed bullshit because what I was shown and what I was told were two different things with a missing connection. Cut to a scene with Daisy alone processing this, or a few seconds of her being pensive onstage before her big speech would have gone a long way. Instead I was left feeling that her big sacrifice was another impulsive thing she did at the drop of a hat - which it wasn't! It's just the show wasn't successful in showing that Daisy really decided this was the best for both of them and I hate that.
One of the reasons the book really landed that climactic moment between Daisy and Camilla is the book obviously was able to detail the thought process behind it. I remember feeling shocked - no matter how we spin it, Camilla basically told Daisy to back off and fuck off. For her own good as well as Billy's and Camilla's and Julia's. Two birds with one stone in a sense. That was such a powerful moment. And Daisy really understood where Camilla was coming from, and she understood that it would be the best for her too.
I liked that the show wanted to give this empowering moment to Daisy alone. But. Again. There was more telling (big speech) and less showing, which is really problematic because duh it's a tv show! I hate that this is a missed opportunity because I really would have loved to see Daisy empowered by this decision even though it was hard for her. In the end, it arguably became about letting Billy go because he would spiral down further if he chose her.
I mean I love that it was a Great Love moment, because she let him go for his own sake. But then again, book Daisy left not only for Billy, but for herself, and for Billy's family. It was a great, self-empowering moment that also made her selfless in a sense. Show Daisy did it for him, arguably also for her, but Camilla and Julia did not factor into it.
Other thoughts:
They were unfair to Eddie ☹️ He came across as kind of a loser once he left the band.
So what did Billy do for a living after all the self-reflection and therapy? Just curious.
Did Simone and Daisy keep in touch, like in the book? We don't know.
How much time passed between Julia passing on her mother's message to Billy and Billy coming to see Daisy? Just curious. I guess him shaving amounted to a few days at least? 😅 Weird if he went right over!
Did they think about each other after? Probably. We can imagine because of their smiles talking about their first meeting. I would have appreciated some insight from the interview on this.
Why didn't they show us Billy or Daisy saying the iconic lines "Everything that made Daisy burn...."? I love the montage, but would have liked to see their faces as well. Imagine saying that to Julia.
Billy's smile when she opened the door looked sad to me. It didn't reach his eyes, unlike hers. Maybe it's Camilla's passing?
They shoved Billy and Daisy so far down our throats so I am generally dissatisfied that they left it hanging like that. It worked in the book but in the show, not really, not for me anyway.
Good thing the show has a lot of fans who delve deep into the show and attempt to interpret all the missing pieces. Season 2 will go a long way to fill in the gaps.

I literally don’t care about Jean, Bobby, anyone who went through the gates etc (we know they’ll be back they have series coming out soon). but the “new team” dying (like that especially) seems cruel. After David’s last hellfire fiasco, especially? I can’t think that wasn’t intentional. Why did something falling like that kill Joanna who is invulnerable and Sam who had an active force field up?
I don't know if the thing with David was intentional, because I genuinely don't believe that anybody in the X-office understood the gravity of what Williams did with that character in X-Factor. They've done nothing but deflect and diminish the criticism of that storyline, and the whole thing got swept under the rug before the issue was even over. I'm not even saying that as an indictment, I'm just saying I would be shocked if it crossed anybody's mind while this was being plotted.
There's been a lot of conversation about how we got finally got an "inclusive" X-Men team (read: a team made up of 50% straight white people*, three Black folks and one Asian woman) only for them to be immediately, violently murdered. And it's true! That was really gross, and it did feel kind of spiteful. I'm definitely among the crowd that wants this team to actually be new X-Men once everything blows over-- it's fun fresh group, and they deserve some time in the sun after getting shafted like this.
There are also a lot of questionable deaths in this issue. I believe that characters' powers should be flexible--within reason-- to the demands of the story. Joanna's not completely invulnerable, so I could believe her getting crushed by a meteoric impact, but I don't believe that level of force was properly illustrated, especially since Jean's telekinesis softened the blow. Jubilee was standing right next to Joanna, and she didn't get obliterated on impact.
If Sam really was using his powers when Nimrod hit, then, yeah, he should've been "night invulnerable." My guess is that Dauterman drew him with the blast effect for visual flair-- he almost always draws characters using their powers on the big team-announcement pages. An editor should've stepped in and asked him to change it, if they wanted his death to be 100% believable. I feel silly getting hung up on it, but it also could've been an easy fix.
I'm also not really sure what was going on with Jean and the Blightswill. It's supposed to neutralize mutant powers, but her telepathy was in full effect for a good long while. Moira getting the drop on her made sense, though. I can buy that Nimrod developed a weapon to melt Bobby from inside out.
*CANONICALLY STRAIGHT. I know Juggernaut is gay, and I know you know Juggernaut is gay. And we aaaaaall know Sam Guthrie likes men. But as far as I'm aware, David's the only textually LGBT character in this group.

Through an unknown miracle, he “wakes up” from the dizzying hypnosis of mind control once again, somehow alive. Blurred vision clears. In return, James noticed the presence of Sam and Steve, who stood in this cold, decrepit room.
“I thought you were dead…” James hardly whispers, still fatigued by the daming headache that surges from so much pain.
“No.” You say, stepping further into dimmed lights that slightly casted through the ceiling.
Reality slaps James right in the face. You should be dead. He saw everything pan out long ago.
You were dragged to the Supression Machine, kicking and screaming. Across the darkened room, Kaprov stood in that camouflage uniform, adjusting his maroon beret in total silence.
Strapped into the apparatus without fail, you’re cuffed from arms to legs. Even another mouth guard is shoved to muffle further noise. In the corner, James is forced to watch, given those alarmed warnings every time he comes back to hell.
To make matters worse, you almost died because of the Serum, wailing and thrashing on that leather-belted cot.
As electric currents zip towards both temples of your small head, James knows that he heart drops. Only moments later, you scream out loud and almost shatter everything found close, nearly spitting out the mouth guard in response.
That night, security’s biggest mistake involved unlocking your restraints after successfully completing another mind swipe.
You jumped from the apparatus, bolting straight towards Karpov and not caring if anyone else dealt with the incoming carnage.
You’re strong enough to drag Karpov down, sending this man to the ground and straddling him just to punch that bastard over and over again. More operatives and white coats run for the hills, yet fail to escape your wrath before it’s too late.
The singular gunshot brings that room to a halt, and you fall away from Karpov’s loosely mounting body, still allowing him to breathe.
Blood spills onto the hardened floor, ensuring your death in James’s own blue stare.
And yet, all this time later, you stand before James, but your eyes peer towards him with venom that only HYDRA would bring out.
It was clear that nightmares lined up with your previous reputation. Hacking. Secret bombings. Covert murders. On and on.
You were HYDRA’S best kept secret, even after working through the Winter Soldier program.
“If the bullet moved elsewhere, I wouldn’t be here.” You reveal.
“Is anyone gonna tell us what the hell’s going on?” Sam interjects towards you and James, rightfully bewildered at this point. “Who are you?”
“Doesn’t matter.” You tell Sam, not wanting to explain yourself and prolong this mission. “Let’s go.”
It all matters to James. How in the world did you escape without risking more gunfire?
________
The backseat of this car is far too snug. You can barely move without James somehow lugging his own weight closer and closer.
“Sorry.” He mumbles to you. His eyes are crystal blue, looking towards you with some kind of light for once.
“It’s okay, but did Steve choose this car?” You make an attempt at humor this time.
“Yeah.” James bit his lip while facing you. No mind control. No restraints. He could think on his own, at least for a while.
Before he could ponder leaning inward, Steve and Sam returned the car, prompting James to turn away from you.
He clears his throat and glances forwards, watching nothing as the car moves again.
*****
“Can’t risk the airport and we’ve been driving for hours.” Instead of dealing with Zemo right away, Sam suggests hotel rooms.
“Fine.” Steve parks through shadows of the lot, still attempting to hide and dons his baseball cap.
“You two okay staying back here for a minute? Not sure yet if we can pull enough space for all of us.” Sam turns his head, looking at you and James.
“I’ve had worse.” You say, not even smiling because it’s true. Even James nods, completely silent here.
“All right. Don’t kill each other.” Sam warns now, locking the car as soon as he and Steve leave this vehicle.
_____________
“What happened?” Probably ten minutes have moved along and James is the first one to speak.
“I don’t wanna talk about it.” You deadpan.
If you don’t speak to him, he’ll be left with his own thoughts, particularly those moments where you were terrified and screaming, trapped by the Machine.
He never wants to hear that sound again.
James never even heard your story. The real one. Did you serve the country like him before HYDRA found something? Possibilities seemed endless with someone like you.
Skilled. Inconspicuous. Brutal when need be.
Fucking beautiful.
Could some missions involve seducing people for information? He couldn’t read enough to know.
You’re watching every angle from this cornered vantage point, trying to ensure the chance of survival.
Any other time, James would’ve definitely asked you out, or at least flirted much better than Steve.
Instead, all he can do is use this new and rarely liberated time to think, even letting his mind drift to the gutter.
It’s been too long. Surely decades. James can’t help but wonder if you had someone at home before HYDRA barged through.
Did you kiss them every night after coming home from work? Did they admire your body?
You looked perfect, even right now. James quietly fought urges to reach and touch you quickly. Timing is crucial considering how often HYDRA encouraged stealth.
You would’ve flinched immediately, triggering reflexes to defend yourself and prompt an actual fight.
Not that he hasn’t seen your work before.
“It’s been twenty minutes.” You look down at your watch, planning to get the hell out of this car. Sam and Steve are taking too long.
Seeing black, not red, James whirs his leftward metal hand and reaches out, savagely clutching your wrist to pull one chance away from the door handle.
The recoil loads, but you can only whimper and he uses that same reach to pull you onto his lap. His jeans have already tented, leaving you to nearly gasp.
“Feel that?” James clenches those bright teeth, trying not to give himself away while starting to move his clothed hips.
“Do it, I dare you.” You snip back, immediately noting the way his erection bulges.
“Trying to get everyone caught? Stay here.” There’s a New York accent lingering through his words and you can’t help melting from within. You finally dry hump against him, barely hiding the mewls of your own voice.
James wraps both arms around you, especially using his metal arm to really lock down your waist. The fabric of his red Henley shirt absolutely burns his skin, but he can’t take everything off. Not here.
“Stop.” You then hurry, desperate to actually fuck James while alone in this damn car. There’s only a matter of time before Sam and Steve return after somehow lodging all of you.
As if told through another  silent command, James unconsciously zips down his jeans. There’s not enough room or time for games. No foreplay, just outright filth.
“Turn around. Face the back window.” James growls through his accent once more, driving you mad.
No condoms were found in the piece of shit, either. Despite his true age, James remembers that their model would be far too old for modern times. Of course Steve would pick this one.
“Hurry.” You rush and lift up your ass for him to see, nearly begging for him to line up with your suddenly dampened entrance.
“Fuck!” The moment he slides into you from behind, James curses almost too loudly in this car.
You reach out, barely clutching leather upholstery that blurred straight ahead. Even without a condom he feels too good. His hips push up agianst your bare ass, hitting over and over again.
You hold back every scream, every call of his name, his real name. Instead of pain surging from HYDRA, you accept this much-needed pleasure, as rare as it is now.
Out of nowhere, you feel hollow without him moving inside, but ropes of white spill onto your ass, leaving James spent.
A short time later, his breathing settles.
Now, both of you have no other choice but to readjust clothes, sit back down, and act like nothing happened.
When you glance up, both Steve and Sam are walking out of the hotel, completely unfazed.
That was close. You think to yourself.
James never responds, simply looking forward.
________
Four rooms were located in the same hallway. James can’t sleep, barely able to sleep with his blanket almost covering up this floor.
He’s tossing and turning. Flashes of what just happened with you haunt him. You sounded too good, taking him quite well.
“Shit.” James rubs his face with the bare right hand, worked up beyond comprehension.
Just when he dares to slump out of here and find your room, knocking prompts his attention. James bolts up, not armed but alert.
When he opens the door, you’re standing right there, and lust fills your entire body.
_______________
This time, both of you are naked. The only sense of reality gives out when James’  leftward metal arm clutches around your hips again.
You’ve straddled his body again and started riding this man, thankful for soundproof walls. You  set both hands onto his bare chest, screaming or bouncing for him.
You’re no longer terrified. He can slap your ass. Curse again. Damn-near yell out loud.
This time, James almost squeals, relieved in the name of his own control. No Cyrofreeze. No swipes. No operative or white coats giving instructions.
“Come on. So close. Come on.” He calls to you, growling as he moves closer and closer towards the edge.
“Oh, God!” At that moment, your eyes flutter to the ceiling and you spill again, warming him up as told.
You expect him to fall silent once more, thereby singaling your exit from his room.
No.
Instead, you cool down with him and he gently uses his bare right hand to push back your hair, directing eye contact.
You see it all.
The yearning. The melancholy. His need for you. His need for this.
“Stay.” James’ voice croaks. His soul would vanish if you left right now.
You nod, settling to rest your head on his chest and fall asleep.
The future can wait.

Honestly what does give me a little comfort in kind of a messed up way is the fact that us sapphics aren't exactly alone-they pretty much screwed over EVERY minority lmao: Nate's storyline wasn't really explored and mostly centered around his relationship with Jade, Keeley could have had a whole fish out of water storyline like Ted about winning over her coworkers but instead the focused on her relationship drama, completely wasted Edwin and Shandy's potential for cheap laughs, gave a half assed attempt at writing Sam's storyline only to call him literally getting hate crimed a "big whoop" and never address it again, never actually giving Dani a storyline, like the list goes on and on XD its honestly kind of impressive how they managed to lowkey tear down their entire legacy Omg if you can edit your reddit post you should also mention how the only other sapphic character on the entire show is that creepy dog breeder..
This is so true. It feels like they dropped the ball for every single minority character and the longer you think about it the worse it gets.
Let’s talk Nate for a second because his whole storyline really baffles me. They had him coaching at Westham, and then they had him quit (or was he fired?) from Westham OFF SCREEN? And then suddenly an episode later he’s back as the assistant kitman for Richmond? I’ll never understand why these writers were so dead set on him coming back to Richmond, all so he could just fade into the background. And while I do believe the whole kit man decision was a temporary one, and that going forward they made him a coach again, I don’t like the implication that he worked through his issues this whole season to just end up back where he was. There’s no reason Nate couldn’t have gone off and gotten another coaching job at another team! He’s still the Wonder Kid, clearly has mad skills and credibility, you can’t tell me there isn’t a team who would have wanted him! I understand he had to return to Richmond briefly to have closure and make his apologies, but then he could’ve gone off to coach elsewhere and continued to spread the Lasso Way and change the lives of other people! We didn’t need him at Richmond when basically all the work has already been done. I wish they would’ve given me any indication that he’d really been impacted by this whole arc he went through & then gone off to be the change he wanted to see in the world.
Keeley’s whole storyline being about Jack & the business was such a waste of Juno Temple’s amazing acting, and an underutilization of the fan favorite character we know and love. Most everything about her seemed so off this season? And as you pointed out, she really didn’t even become Miss Independent until the very end when Rebecca took over financing and she was able to make decisions about her own business finally. I would’ve much rather they had Rebecca funding it from the start (or at least earlier in the season) so we could have seen her adventures and misadventures through running her own company that didn’t have anything to do with her messy, exploitative relationship with Jack.
The way I feel about them trying to tackle racism with Sam’s storyline is the same way I feel about them trying to tackle homophobia with Colin’s. If you’re gonna half ass it, don’t do it at all. And they certainly didn’t put half the amount of time and effort they needed to into thinking up how to properly handle Sam’s storyline. We went through the whole hate crime that was never addressed again. And then we had this big problem with Edwin in the final episodes where he was like “I’m going to destroy your entire life and you’ll never make money with the restaurant and you’ll never play for the National team.” And then that was just NEVER addressed again?? Not even a throwaway line about Rebecca taking care of it or something?? He was suddenly playing on the Team and the only explanation we were given from Brendan during the AMA was that it was due to ‘national outcry’ like give me a break. Not to mention we never saw Simi again and so we never got to see if she and Sam ended up together. We were sort of just left to infer that everything worked out for Sam, and that just doesn’t work for me.
Poor Dani Rojas was doomed to be nothing more than a joke from the very start. He deserved more, but at the same time I’m almost glad they didn’t give him more because the storylines this season were awful.
So yeah, feels like all of the minorities on the show lost. I don’t know how the writers managed to do this in so little time, but you’re right it is really impressive.
