Okay I’ve seen the theories and I love them all.
Imagine they get Laudna to Whitestone, to Vex and Percy, and maybe Keyleth. Imagine the absolute horror of the realization that Laudna was one of the Sun Tree victims. One of the ones they never gave a proper burial to.
The Vex effigy.
What if - what if - they decide to help Bells Hells - they see the grief, the rage, the pain on their faces (the memory of Vax hangs in the air, a suffocating grip around their necks) - with the resurrection. They try - gods they try but Laudna comes back Wrong.
No, wrong isn’t the word for it. She comes back Right.
Imagine the Laudna who heard Imogen’s call in the resurrection ritual, who reached for it beyond the constraints of death, is not the same one who comes back.
She’s alive - truly alive with no memories of the past 30 years- and Imogen, who has fought so hard for this moment - bled for it, grieved for it - now has to live with this.
Imagine Laudna grappling with her last memories of being alive. The trauma is still so fresh in her mind, but the world has moved on without her.
She can’t look Imogen in the eyes. The grief there, not unlike her own, is a constant reminder of who she was, who she isn’t. This strange purple-haired woman fought for Laudna, but Laudna barely even knows her name.
Anyways, I miss Laudna dearly and I want her back. I am Devastated but Hopeful.
