whenever will has a bad day at work (or just a bad day in general), and he's just sitting on the couch and sulking, mike will put on will's current favorite song and ask him to dance really stupidly formally like they do at weddings. will always rolls his eyes and pouts and refuses at first - until he sees mike, his wonderful amazing beautiful boyfriend, busting out his absolute cringiest dance moves to their favorite the cure song or whatever else and singing along to said song horrifically off key in the middle of their living room. and then mike extends his hands to will and forcefully pulls him up off the couch and twirls him around and dips him down to kiss him like he's the most special boy in the world (because he is. Obviously) and will can't pout anymore because mike's hands are so big and warm in his own and it's just them, being stupid and silly and crazy together in their tiny little one bedroom apartment and dancing along to all of their favorites. before the first song even finishes, though, will finds himself singing and dancing along too and twirling mike back because mike's dopey little grin is so damn infectious that he just. can't help it.

and this is how mike develops the Tried And True Method To Turn Will's Frown Upside Down (pun not intended) that he still continues even when they're older and married, because they're still stupid kids at heart and love each other so much that it needs to be shared in every way possible ❤️

another thing abt trigun's end, besides vash, was that meryl and milly's actions kind of felt... annoyingly offensive, lol? trimax never fully got around to making them fully developed characters, but they were much better in the manga than the anime. meryl especially has much more of a character compared to milly, and it revolved around her ability to care.

i want to compare it to fma, in fma03 winry's lost all her character development basically, being dragged behind ed and all everywhere not doing much, and in the manga/fmab she has a life outside of ed, but still cares for him while hes away. it reminds me of that. meryl in the manga seems like she has things going on with milly outside of our protag, but we arent really shown it, the few scenes revolving around her taking action in defense of something, which in this case should be vash.

shounen animanga dont usually like romance in general, but having meryl be an actual significant relation to vash would be a good, and frankly easy, opportunity for someone that's close to him to support him. instead the manga ends with them doing the kind of "you left!" "haha, yeah sorry" "ugh, whatever *secretly cares and then changes the conversation*" thing theyve done since the beginning. not saying there should've been some naruto style end w the relationships, but milly and meryl comically parading after an actively hunted supposed savior feels weird... not good... meryl and vash also had that human/nonhuman thing going on, so its shouldve been some from far away/inuyasha(?)/fruits basket shit
