Bruhhh adding on to the "people have been really rude on Af this year" thing: people on this blog have been worse this year, too. Last year, there was a lot more empathy and gentle explanations whenever someone complained about being sad when their attack didn't get a response. This year it's all "touch grass loser didn't you know some people have LIVES?!" . And people being sad about some OCs not getting drawn only to get people being like "Oh maybe make your OCs not boring, hope this helps 💅" type commentary.

I mean, Olivia has said multiple times the movie is meant to make you uncomfortable. It’s meant to make you question society and the constraints of a patriarchy. She also said she wanted the sex scenes to be about female pleasure and female hunger in a way that is not normally seen (because normally sex scenes in movies is thrusting and a man getting off). I understand that a lot of CT’s and younger fans have zero to no reading comprehension skills but it’s not like any of the themes of this movie are a surprise, she’s been talking about it for 2 years. Just because the plot and setting of the movie is wrapped into the pretty, dreamy background of Palm Springs doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a dark undertone. It’s rated R for a reason - if you are under 18, you shouldn’t see it. If you have an issue with psychological thrillers, you shouldn’t see it. None of that has a bearing on Olivia Wilde’s direction of a movie with adult themes. It’s not her responsibility to cater to peoples “triggers”

This isn't about anyone's triggers. This is about their misogynistic hate campaign.

I never thought the tattoo itself was this big sad thing! I think the situation on how Mickey did it and what came immediately after WAS devastating and hard. But I think it’s meaning, of Mickey just being devoted to Ian and making that permanent is just very….Mickey. Not to say I don’t think there were times when he use to look at it and have hard time but now I think it fills him with pride, that he was right!! they are meant to be and Ian has is heart forever. Perhaps Ian gets one one day

oh for sure! i hate to think of it in the 6x01 context bc i cannot STAND the idea of him doing that BY HIMSELF and suffering through that pain, getting over the actual infection of it - while knowing it did not land with ian the way he wanted it to. it’s a HUGE declaration made by mickey. it’s who he is. this is what he could do to show ian he’s still in it, even from where he’s locked up. that’s huge! and dangerous and crazy and sweet! and especially knowing what we know now, it’s beautiful. but without that knowledge, and before even knowing about s7, it’s awful to think about. just thinking about mickey alone with that tattoo HURTS.

and for ian - who is trying to pull himself together, to (however we may feel about it) put some distance between himself and what he associates with mickey… to see that? oUCH. IT’S GUT WRENCHING TO ME.

i do think mickey might have had some trouble looking at it after that, and when he was freshly in mexico. but i do not think he ever regretted it, and i don’t think he’d ever have gotten rid of it. it’s just part of the healing! i also think of him after that initial pain has passed, looking at it and touching it and thinking of their good days together. smiling to himself, remembering.

again, knowing what we know and how it all turns out - yeah! it’s got to be such a lovely thing for him. how he knew what he wanted without wavering, how he took these leaps time and again. how it was ALWAYS WORTH IT. and yes, he was right! it’s a testament to them and how hard they worked for their happiness. and ian ABSOLUTELY gets one. so true!

no I just read a lot, and watch a lot of TV and movies and I'm always pushing people to try good media, like we live in a time where things are getting more and more samey in entertainment and TikTok and short form media is melting peoples brains, watched someone in their late 20s declare that they "can't" watch old movies and it was YIKES!

so you know I want people to try new things, celebrate good things old and new

and also I hope to push great fan artists and gif makers to love what I love to flood the zone with content to infect others, its an evil master plan of world conquest.
