renegades plss
Thanks for the ask!! Sorry it's so late lol
The first character I first fell in love with:
Simon Westwood
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
Ace Anarchy
The character everyone else loves that I don’t:
Danna Bell
The character I love that everyone else hates:
I don't think there is one. At least for the new members of the fandom (from what i can tell the originals have been gone awhile and the toxic ones iv heard of also seem to be gone, or just stopped being toxic).
The character I used to love but don’t any longer:
...Also don't think i have one.
The character I would totally smooch:
AGAIN DAMN NONE. Thyre like my kiddos ya know. It would be weird.
The character I’d want to be like:
A mix of Nova and Simon. Seems dope.
The character I’d slap:
Honey. You dont torture a kid you raised. You just dont.
A pairing that I love:
Humon and Nodrian. Call me basic but gotta love the originals.
A pairing that I despise:
I dont despise any of them. By my least favorite is Nobell (Nova+Danna). I really dont see it at all. I see it more of a heartbreak story than an otp.

‘Renegades’ trilogy by Marissa Meyer: review
Welcome today to a post I have been waiting to do for months. I never do entire posts for book reviews, but since this was a trilogy (and one of my favorites I read this year) I decided it would deserve a little more.
Note: I will be doing a spoiler-free review first and then I’ll put a warning before talking about each individual book :)
Synopsis: The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew.
Trilogy Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I honestly think these are the best books I’ve ever read. The description was fascinating, easy to follow and gave amazing imagery without that heaviness that a lot of fantasy books have (this is more sci-fi/dystipia-ish but still).
The characters felt real and their individual voices were clear from start to finish. I loved every single character, even the ones I hated.
However, there is one thing that bothered me BUT it does align with their world and that is the lack of accountability certain characters recieve (but I will be talking about that in my Supernova review).
Then the PLOT OH MY GOSH. I mean, it’s superheroes. It’s nearly impossible to be original with a plot that isn’t the same as any Marvel or DC comic/movie/show. And yet Marissa Meyer that such a beautiful job of taking a common conflict (heroes vs villains, villains wanting to take over the world) and turning it into a unique plot with amazing twists.
I mentioned the world-building before, but I’ll do it again. Third person POV is not my favorite and neither is heavy world building like the one this book needed and had. Still, it was written in such a simple way that I didn’t feel like she was trying to confuse me, it was just a story.
Overall, this series was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced, mind-blowing world building and compelling characters that will make you feel single to the core even in a relationship.
🚨Spoilers Ahead🚨
Renegades ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“We were all villains in the beginning.”
I went into this book with low expectations because I didn’t think I’d like Marissa Meyer’s style and boy was I wrong.
The first few chapters were a bit confusing but the moment Adrian fixed Nova’s bracelet I KNEW this would steer towards romance and it sold me. And then Nightmare making fun of the Sentinel for his comic book phrases and poses was my favorite thing ever. That would be me as a superhero, no doubt.
I really liked the way the plot progressed “slowly” without feeling dragged on. In fact, despite it’s slower pace of the story, the book still felt quick and that just won a million points with me.
Don’t even get me started on the Anarchists. I LOVED them. I like how they weren’t presented as villains from Nova’s POV, just enemies of a totalitarian state. Not even just in her point of view though. I genuinely didn’t think any of them were bad until Ingrid decided to show up at the library and almost killed Sketch’s crew.
And speaking of Sketch’s crew … the minor characters??? Hello??? Who writes side characters that are SO good?? Oscar is my favorite though. He wins. Danna being the only one to question Nova about Adrian’a feelings for her was hilarious, although it stressed me out that Nova put her to sleep. Counterpoint: it was very cute that the only way she could stop thinking of Adrian liking her was by putting Danna to sleep. Very on point teenage reaction. I would’ve done the same thing if only I wasn’t trying to remain anonymous in the organization that indirectly killed my parents.
The climax, on the other hand, felt a teensy bit rushed but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy Nodrian in their not-date. It was adorable, especially when they stopped at the kid’s party and then Nova panicking over the mere thought of going on the ferris wheel with Adrian. All the carnival chapters where my favorite thing ever and I really wished they hadn’t ended with Nova killing the woman who raised her. But I did like the irony of it being Ingrid who told her she didn’t have the guts to press the trigger and then she died at the hands of Nova’s gun.
AND THE ENDING WITH ACE BEING ALIVE. That shook me. I suspected it, of course, but it shook me to my core. 10/10 plot twist there.
Archenemies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I guess I figured you deserve to have good dreams every once in a while. Even if you never sleep.”
This one gets six stars because somehow I read it in 11 hours and I’ve never read such a large book in one day. The entire story was just fast-paced action, superhero world building and Nodrian flirting and eventually kissing. Best book ever.
I liked how in this book we got a closer look into other character relationships like Oscar and Ruby and then Danna’s suspicions over Nova. I would’ve liked to see more of Danna’s friendship with the team though, since at times it seemed she was only there to send passive aggressive comments at Nova. And the Sentinel’s “death” was amazing. Pure comic book material right there.
There is this thing though that I mentioned in the general review that bothered me and it’s when they reveal Agent N. This weapon they created using Max’s blood is a great example of how the Renegades had obtained way too much power. It’s when we start to see that maybe Nova and the Anarchists are right. The Renegades are slowly becoming a dictatorship and it’s bothersome that nobody except Nova and Adrian notice. Especially when it was so obvious with things like them using Agent N “against every prodigy who didn’t follow the Renegades code”. Sure, they were criminals, but that wasn’t about arresting them. It was about changing the DNA of people who made one mistake and were immediately deemed enemies of the state.
Back to the good stuff, Nodrian flirting was the highlight of this book. They’re both so awkward and adorable, especially when Nova’s teaching Adrian how to shoot and then when they’re in his room later on. The whole “you want me to ignore everything?” and “you’re not allowed to have girls in your room?” quotes KILLED me. Those were peak flirting moments and I’m immensely surprised by the way that Marissa Meyer manages to write teenagers realistically as an adult and not even having teenage kids of her own. Also, Nova opening up to Adrian was just. No. It killed me. My ghost is writing this btw.
The ending, once again, amazing. I loved it. Not only did it once again show Frostbite’s true colors, show us how much hate Adrian actually held against Nightmare and the way Nova had softened by the Renegades’ influence. And Ace Anarchy’s capture goes into the good things pile.
Supernova ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“To be honest, I’m not sure there are such things as villains anymore. Maybe there never really were.”
Is it a bad review if I just insert the word “AH” for the next ten lines? Yes? Damn it. I admit that I was expecting something much different, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I have never cursed and squealed so much by reading and had I not bought the hardcover with my own money, I would’ve thrown that book against the wall. It stressed me out. First of all, getting Nova and Adrian kissing in the tunnels a few chapters before Adrian arrests her for being Nightmare was another level of messed up. Clearly, she did everything in her power to save him from her house’s explosion and he threw it out the window in blind anger. And then the whole execution thing??? That was horrifying and it’s when the Renegades’ incompetence really showed its true colors. They couldn’t bring the people back to their side - because they failed - so they sentenced a broken, dying man and an underage girl who acted under the manipulation of her entire family, to death. If Hugh had ever even attempted to find out what happened to both Artino girls, none of that mess would’ve happened, but instead Lady Indomitable died and he went “WELL, can’t do anything about her last task, can we?” I get he was preoccupied by her orphaned son and the Ace of Anarchy, but it was as simple as going back into the house and searching. In fact, this entire book was just showing how their society was crumbling and in the end they went “we were all heroes”. I’m surprised Nova forgave the entire Renegades organization for what they did because even if it was Ace who sent a hit after her and her family, the Renegades were still willing to overuse their power.
And once again back to the good stuff before I end up bashing the Renegades even more, I never thought I would be on board with Adrian and Nova’s relationship at the end of the book. I try not to ship toxic relationships in YA because they happen a lot and I wouldn’t like younger readers to think that it’s okay, but I loved how both Nova and Adrian were willing to make a change for their relationship to work. They compromised because they loved each other so much it didn’t matter who had tried to kill the other person and their dad or who hadn’t advocated against the other’s execution, you know, the ups and downs of every relationship. While I do wish we had seen them talking about everything, I get a book can only have a certain amount of words and I was glad just the same with how it ended. Also, Leroy’s threat to Adrian is iconic, just like Oscar proclaiming his undying love for Ruby at the arena were they almost witnessed multiple murders.
The epilogue. Just. Wow. I knew it before because I’m smart and I spoiled it but I NEED another Renegades book. You can’t just end the series saying Evie Artino was Magpie and her being as angry as Nova once was. Like, no. You just can’t. That was a crime against humanity, tbh, but overall the series was amazing and I have never been more grateful to spend almost $80 in books.

Catch me if I should fall
Summary:  “I, Hugh Everhart, swear to my best friend Georgia Rawles that if something happens to her, I will take care of her loved ones as if the same blood ran through our veins, as long as the sun and the sky shall endure.” He ignored his broken voice and put his hand over her fist, “But I also swear that I will never let her die. If she should fall, I will catch her.”
AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/26427151
I want to start by saying this fic is dedicated to my mother @dawniebb. She basically introduced me to the wonderful headcanon about how Georgia and Hugh were best friends and she actually asked him and Simon to take care of Adrian if something happened to her. Thank you for saving me from my cursed theories.
This fic was in the back of my head during two weeks, I think, when you were worried about the support Hope Called Themselves the Renegades would have, and I wanted to cheer you up with this. But I didn’t had the inspiration to actually do it until now. Kinda late, considering HCTTR blew up, AND IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT YOU FUCKING SHOULD.
I still wanted to give this to you tho. My sister Nodrian told me it was a good idea. Dime que esto no tiene la misma energía que un niño dándole a su mamá un dibujo que hizo en el kinder xd
Also #Nodriannoleasesto. Spoilers. Sorry.
Also x2 I took inspiration from Tightrope, a song from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. I’m obsessed with it, I’m sorry, I can’t help it.
Also x3 this is very self indulgent
Age of Anarchy
Year 20, Month 5
Hand in my hand and you promised to never let go,
we’re walking the tightrope.
High in the sky,
we can see the whole world down below.
We’re walking the tightrope.
Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?
Well, it’s all an adventure
that comes with a breathtaking view.
He had heard of Bunny before. Evander and Tamaya had an encounter with her not so long ago when they were investigating some robberies that occurred in an area near the headquarters. She always stole jewelry or food. Bunny was not dangerous.
But she could jump.
Simon probably would have turned invisible to distract her and catch her off guard, Evander would blind her with one of his lights, Kasumi would stop her with a wave of water, Tamaya would throw lightning at her… but Hugh could only chase her and pray that she would get tired before he did.
They reached the bridge that connected the west and east side of Gatlon City. The sea was just below them.
Georgia passed over his head. Just in time.
Bunny was in the air when Georgia grabbed her by the wrist. The girl began to squirm and screech like a rabbit caught in a hunter’s trap.
“Not so fast, Bunny,” Georgia exclaimed. “Now—” she held out her hand, “—be a good little girl and give me that.”
Hugh caught up with them. He leaned against the bridge railing, under the dim light of a post, to catch up on air. Secretly, of course.
Bunny was not a little girl, she was already past fifteen. Yes, she was less than five feet tall and had the most crooked and huge teeth he had ever seen but that didn’t mean anything. Georgia needed to stop treating criminals like they were misbehaved children from daycare.
Although he had to admit it was fun watching her do it. It always made them mad.
“Never!” screamed Bunny.
“I know that it is not yours. It is not correct to steal things from older ladies who open their homes to you,” Georgia said as if it weren’t some general knowledge that stealing was wrong.
“That lady hates me! She hates me!” and bit her hand.
Georgia winced but didn’t let go.
“Hey, no biting!” Hugh ordered.
Bunny turned to see him, more furious than ever. “Nobody gives me orders, Captain.”
Then, Bunny kicked him in the chest and pushed him out to sea, letting out a more maniacal laugh than he’d ever heard come from a human.
He realized what had just happened until Georgia’s hands grasped his. At that precise moment, the violent waves that were under him crashed against the foundation of the bridge and Hugh felt a chill run down his spine.
Metal does not float.
Georgia brought him back to land and floated beside him. There was no sign of Bunny anymore, but he knew where she had headed.
“We need to go after her,” he muttered.
Georgia crossed her arms. “Not today, Captain. Let her go.”
But they couldn’t let her go. They both knew they could help her if Bunny let them, why wait for the next time they see her?
What if there was no next time?
He was about to tell her all that, when Georgia out of nowhere kicked him between the ribs slightly harder than usual. “Next time stay away from bodies of water,” she said reproachfully.
Hugh laughed and held the spot where he had hit him. “Yes, mother.”
Georgia was unfazed.
“I’m serious. What would have happened if I hadn’t held your hand? You do not know how to swim!” She took him by the chin to force him to turn to see her. “You could have died!”
He jerked out of her grip. Georgia sighed. She massaged her temple as she slowly sat down on the dirty pavement, frowning, and with her jaw clenched.
She knew he didn’t like it when people touch his face like that.
“But … I didn’t die,” Hugh said. “What’s this all about?”
She turned to see him with teary eyes like she didn’t recognize him. “Are you not afraid of your own death?”
Hugh scoffed. “Are you?”
Georgia looked away. It can’t be.
You are afraid?
“I have to confess to you, Hugh. Death has terrified me too much lately.”
Impossible.
He sat by her side. Georgia leaned on his shoulder without thinking twice, invading him with familiarity.
“It’s just… well, I guess you’ve noticed that Adrian gets super nervous every time I go out,” Georgia explained. “And I have told him many times not to worry, that I will return safely. I even tell him that phrase— ”
Oh, he knew that phrase by heart. “Not even the darkest of nightmares, the loneliest of nights, or the worst of troubles—” he said.
“Can with the boldness, bravery, and joy of Lady Indomitable!” Georgia finished with a raised fist. “You should get yourself a catchphrase like this. It would be good for your brand.”
“I’ll think about it.”
Georgia went silent again. “The thing is, no matter how many times I tell Adrian I’m going to be okay,” she murmured sadly, “he’s still scared.”
“And you get scared too?”
“It’s not that,” she assured. “I know that I am the best and you all would be dead by now without me, but honestly, the five of you are already adults.” She gave a soft laugh from underneath. ”You’ll be just fine without me.”
He took her hand discreetly. They were smaller than his. And warmer. I wouldn’t.
“But Adrian… he’s so young,” Georgia continued. “He couldn’t live without me and the worst thing is that I couldn’t live without him. I get nervous at the slightest sign that he’s in danger. Like yesterday, when Kasumi bought him that lollipop, remember?”
Of course, he remembered.
“You stayed all afternoon watching Adrian eat the lollipop in front of the TV,” he replied, trying not to laugh. “Tamaya told you to stop harassing him.”
“Even Simon asked me if I didn’t think I was exaggerating. Simon! The one who told Evander when we went to the beach that if he didn’t put on sunscreen, he was going to get skin cancer and he was going to die right then and there!”
“In his defense,” Hugh said, “you can get skin cancer if you don’t put on sunscreen.”
“He wanted him to put on sunscreen at midnight. Do you know what the definition of ‘night’ is? It is the time of day when there is no sunlight.“
“But you agreed with him and forced Evander to put on sunscreen anyways,” he commented.
“In my defense, motherhood changes you.”
Silence returned.
The positive side of having been on the same team for the last ten years and spending entire nights silent to not give away their location is that there were no longer any awkward silences between them.
Georgia started playing with Hugh’s engagement ring. “Are you excited for your wedding? Because I am.”
“Are you trying to change the subject?”
“Maybe.” She took it off and put it on herself. “Are you excited?”
“Of course. Tomorrow is the big day.” Georgia gave it back to him like nothing. “I hope you already wrote your speech.”
“Obviously. I don’t think I should walk you down the aisle though. I will look much better than you.”
“That’s debatable.”
They had barely managed to get suits for him and Simon. Casually, the father of Kasumi’s new friend was a minister and had agreed to marry them off. He had even lent them the backyard of her house, where he had beautiful rose bushes and a well-kept lawn.
They were all very excited. Evander was about to physically fight with Adrian because they both wanted to be the ones who hold the rings. In the end, Adrian won, not only because Georgia wanted Adrian to deliver the rings so badly, but also because Evander was no longer a lovable nine-year-old and wouldn’t have the same impact. He was even starting to grow facial hair. Tamaya told him that he was going to have to shave for the ceremony and that if he didn’t, she would personally take care of removing every last hair from his body.
Simon managed to please Evander when he told him that he could be his best man. Kasumi would be the maid of honor. They had bought her a secondhand pale pink dress, but on her, it looked like it had just come out of a magazine. The five of them wanted Tamaya to be the “flower woman”, but she flatly refused. She wanted to be a godmother and walk Simon down the aisle. She was not going to settle for less.
It wasn’t going to be the wedding of the century, but it was the perfect wedding for him.
“You have to promise me something.”
He turned to see her. Anything.
“If something happens to me, I want you and Simon to take care of Adrian.”
The answer escaped his lips immediately. “No.”
“Excuse you?”
Hugh shook his head. “I’m not going to promise you that.”
“Why the hell not?” Georgia asked, angrily.
“Because nothing is going to happen to you. Not if I can stop it.”
She rolled her eyes. It wasn’t something she did very often. “Wow, so heroic. Do you want a medal? Come on!” she exclaimed, holding his arm tightly. “It doesn’t cost you anything. Pinky promise, okay? “
“Lady Indomitable, you are already a thirty-year-old woman,” he scolded her.
“What, you can’t promise things for pinky anymore when you turn thirty or what?” she asked. playing confused.
He clenched her jaw, fighting to stay immune to her words. “No, you can not.”
“That’s debatable. The good news is that I’m twenty-nine. Come on … Or I’ll tell Simon to send you to sleep on the couch.”
Now it was his turn to roll his eyes. “I’m already sleeping on the couch. Tamaya doesn’t let us sleep in the same bed, she says it wouldn’t be very Christian of us.”
“Okay, if you pinky promise me what I told you, I will convince Tamaya to let you sleep in the same bed as Simon, deal?”
A tempting offer. But he couldn’t accept it.
Hugh could promise many things. He could even lie about promising many things. However, he couldn’t lie to Georgia, much less could he promise her something that he wasn’t going to keep.
Because nothing was going to happen to her.
“I’m not going to promise you that,” he sentenced. “You are going to raise Adrian. And when Simon and I have kids of our own, they and Adrian will be like siblings, and they will play in the backyard of our great mansion, and I don’t know, probably they will wear matching Christmas sweaters.”
“Our kids like… siblings?”
“Yes. We have discussed it,” he replied. “We want to have children. You know, adoption.”
“Oh, adoption, yeah…” Georgia mumbled. “I thought it was a weird way of asking me to be a surrogate mother.”
She raised her eyebrows. “And is this a strange way of offering yourself as a surrogate mother?”
“Stars, no. Although I make very hot babies.”
“That is so wrong,” he replied with a laugh.
Georgia was laughing. Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. “It was so wrong, I’ll never use that adjective to describe a baby again.”
“Please.”
Georgia took his hand again. The question he asked hit him like a bucket of cold water. “What would you like me to do for you if you died?”
He couldn’t. He couldn’t lie to Georgia.
“I don’t like to think that I am capable of dying. I am indestructible.”
“Indestructible, not immortal,” Georgia stressed. “We are not gods.”
He gazed at the stars. When the entire city had electricity again, it would be difficult to speak to those who were now watching them from above.
He had to see the stars while he could.
“I wish we were. That way we would never die. ”
Georgia sighed and squeezed his hand lovingly. “Dying is not why we all think it is. I believe that real death is being forgotten.” She looked up at the stars too. Her dark eyes were illuminated by the moonlight. “That’s what I truly fear.”
He would have liked to tell her that he too was afraid of that death. To tell her that he was also absolutely afraid of being forgotten, and not at all of the idea of becoming another star in the sky.
But it would be lying.
And he couldn’t lie to Georgia.
“You’ve convinced me. I’m going to make you the promise you want.” Georgia squealed like a little girl and hugged him quickly. “But if I’m going to promise something, it has to be… stylish. With big words.”
“Wow, a ritual oath. I like it.”
The two of them sat across from each other. The only thing that was heard for a while was the sea waves. It no longer gave him the creeps at all. Hugh thought carefully about what he was going to say and Georgia couldn’t help but smile.
How could she find the beauty in such a morbid oath?
“Ready?” he asked.
Georgia straightened up and extended her little finger. “I was born ready.”
Hugh locked his pinky with hers. It felt like they were back to being the teenagers they were when they first met. They had both changed a lot. Georgia had longer hair, stronger muscles, and a less scared expression. However, she still had the same perfect smile and kind eyes as when he first saw her.
He wondered how he had changed.
Georgia got tired of waiting.
“Look, I’m feeling nice today, so I’m going to promise the same back to you, all right?” Georgia asked. “I’ll go first. I, Georgia Rawles, swear to my best friend Hugh Everhart, that if something happens to him, I will take care of his loved ones as if the same blood ran through our veins, as long as the sea and the mountains shall endure.” She gently placed her other hand over his fist and added, “But I also swear that I will never let him die. If he should fall, I will catch him.”
Hugh was left speechless. He could feel the tears about to come out of his eyes. Get a grip, Captain.
Georgia noticed immediately. “Are you crying?”
Hugh removed his mask and wiped away a tear. “Modern men are not afraid of their feelings.”
“What a sentimental softie.”
But she also had tears in her eyes.
Why were they like that?
He put the mask back on. It was his turn.
“Okay. I, Hugh Everhart, promise you— “ Shoot. “Um, I don’t want to copy you. For what would you like me to say instead of ‘mountain and sea’?”
“How about… the sun and the sky?”
It was perfect.
“Well well.” He took a breath. Here we go. “I, Hugh Everhart, swear to my best friend Georgia Rawles that if something happens to her, I will take care of her loved ones as if the same blood ran through our veins, as long as the sun and the sky shall endure.” He ignored his broken voice and put his hand over her fist, “But I also swear that I will never let her die. If she should fall, I will catch her.”
And if I ever break this promise, I have no idea what the hell I would do.
Suddenly, a knife tore through the air violently and slammed into the light pole. They both broke free and backed away. Georgia was immediately on her guard, prepared to smash the face of anyone who dared throw the knife at them. Hugh leaned closer to get a better look at it. It had a dark green handle and a golden point. There was a folded paper at its end.
Nightingale.
He opened the letter. Nightingale had more chaotic handwriting than usual.
Captain, the Savior has learned that Sandman has been the one who gives him nightmares and has sent a plague to finish him off. They need help right now.
—N.
“Indomitable,” he called her. “Look.”
Georgia took the letter from him. Her eyes widened. As soon as she finished reading it, they both turned to see each other.
Ace… Alec knew David had given him away. And he was going after him.
He had to do something.
“See you at headquarters.”
Georgia got in his way. Her face was more serious than ever. “No, I’ll go,” she sentenced.
“What? No, you won’t.”
“You will not arrive there running. Not on time,” she assured. “They need help right now.”
Hugh looked away. “But—”
“Hey, hey.” Georgia grabbed his chin again, with a love that only she had. “Remember. Not even the darkest of nightmares, the loneliest of nights, or the worst of troubles…”
He sighed and smiled for her.
“Can with the boldness, bravery, and joy of Lady Indomitable.”
She squeezed his nose playfully. “See you at headquarters.”
Hugh watched her fly away at top speed until she disappeared in the dark. He turned and ran back to headquarters. The rest of the team needed to know what was happening.
He could lie to everyone. But she couldn’t lie to Georgia.
Hugh had already made a promise. And he had to fulfill it.
I will catch you if you fall.

Meet Me in the Middle Chapter 8
Meet Me in the Middle Chapter 7
Word Count: 2790
This fic series is about nodrian’s daughter, Rosetta, not having any prodigy abilities (sorta) and falling in love with a girl named Ellie who is Ruby and Oscar daughter and handling both in the worst possible way.
------------------
Rosetta came into Ellie's room, her hair pulled back and a giant shirt with shorts on and Pudge in hand. Ellie was in her own pajamas with her laptop, movies, and her latest embroidery work on the bed as she had put both the beds together to make a big one.
Rosetta dropped her cat on the bed and Ellie scooped Pudge up right before he got to her embroidery, the curious pet pawing at everything he saw.
"That is not for you mister," she said, scratching behind his ear and making him purr.
She hopped onto the beds, hair flouncing behind her. She looked adorable in her purple pajama set, just like how she looked good in literally anything.
Ellie held up the movies.
"Which one?"
She had several vastly different choices, showing her Shrek, Emma, Love Simon, and Pulp Fiction. Rosetta, ever the sucker for a romantic movie, chose Love Simon.
Ellie popped it in and Lacey dimmed the lights, enough that it was dark but not too dark that Ellie couldn't see her needle work.
She was making a depiction of David by Michelangelo. She absolutely loved remaking iconic artwork from the Renaissance and her favorite artist of all was Michelangelo. She put his art on everything but Rosetta wasn't complaining either. She loved Michelangelo and Renaissance art too, being obsessed with then hands from God Creating Adam.
Obviously though, Ellie strayed form just recreating Michelangelo's work, having put a bunch of famous paintings and pieces like Starry Night and The Persistence of Memory on jeans she had. Ellie had also embroidered Frida Kahlo onto a jean jacket. Any famous piece of art that existed, it seemed Ellie had put it on something. It was what most of her embroidery was, doing other things like flowers or patterns onto objects as requested by people.
Eventually, Ellie set her things aside and focused back on the movie, wiggling her way under the blanket Rosetta had draped over herself, Pudge on top of her and asleep.
"Oh I like Abby's makeup," Rosetta mentioned as they showed them in Cabaret for the school musical.
"I can do it for you if you want," Ellie offered. "I mean you already took off your makeup and washed your face I assume but-"
"Go ahead," Rosetta told her, knowing that it would make her happy. She loved doing other people's makeup. "I mean I'm going to end up taking it off soon anyways but you can do it."
"Yes!" Ellie cheered. "Let me go grab my things."
She hopped off the bad and ran to the bathroom, coming back with her bag and miniature portable ring light. She paused the movie and flicked on the lights, putting her bag down on the bed and suctioning the light to the wall, turning it on.
She crawled on the bed and then over top of Rosetta, pushing her back against the bed and under the light. She settled herself, straddling Rosetta's hips with her thighs.
Rosetta could feel her body heating up, warmth spreading up her neck and face. She was almost certain that Ellie would be able to hear her heart, thundering and about to burst from her chest.
Ellie was on top of her.
Ellie was on top of her!
ELLIE WAS ON TOP OF HER!
She thought she might just black out as Ellie began, grabbing an eyeshadow. One hand was holding the side of her face and the other was maneuvering the brush.
"Are you okay? Your forehead is hot?" Ellie asked.
"Mhmm."
Ellie then pressed a kiss to her forehead and Rosetta nearly screamed.
"You sure you're alright? It feels like you have a temperature."
"Yeah I'm sure," she squeaked.
She gave her a look but didn't press. Instead she had her close her eyes so she could apply the eyeshadow. Rosetta wasn't allowed to open them until Ellie said she could but she could hear and feel her pausing and continuing, palette clanking every time as the metal part of the brush hit it and the bristles then met her eye.
Next she felt eyeliner go on and then she was allowed to open her eyes, only to be told to curl her eyelashes and put on mascara since Ellie knew that Rosetta hated when anyone else did those things for her. She never really liked people being able to go that close to her eyes and be able to nearly stab her too. That and it just felt uncomfortable for her.
"And last touch," Ellie said, pulling out lipstick and popping off the cap. "Open your mouth a bit please."
Rosetta did as told, not having the courage at the moment to be playful at the moment. Ellie's thumb held her bottom lip down gently as she applied it to the top. She let go, placing it on the bottom and making Rosetta's heart pound the whole time. She was almost sure this is what a stroke felt like.
Ellie moved off of her, packing her things away but tossing Rosetta a little hand held mirror.
"What do you think?"
"It's great. Thanks," she said quickly, trying not to melt into a puddle.
Her crush then left to go put her things back in the bathroom, gently snagging back the mirror.
Pudge then moved onto her and she held him tight, needing something to ground her. He meowed in defiance and tried to squirm out.
"Leave that poor baby alone," Ellie said, as she came back in, grabbing a deck of cards off her desk and throwing them at her so she would release him.
Not wanting to get hit in the face by the cards, she let Pudge go and snatched them from the air. Rosetta cleared a space on the bed and dumped them out, proceeding to shuffle them.
"Do you want to play a quick round of go fish?" She asked.
"I don't see why not."
She sat on the bed and Rosetta dealt the cards, even giving a few to Pudge since he liked to do whatever Rosetta did. If he wanted one of her cards he would tap it and she would see if it matched his or not.
They played for a few rounds, Pudge somehow winning two of them, before Ellie stretched and hit the lights.
"I'm tired," she yawned curling up on the bed and patting a spot beside her, gesturing for Rosetta to lie down as well.
"Let me go wash my face."
"So much for the makeup I did," she murmured.
"I warned you did I not?"
She went to the bathroom and rinsed down with water before taking a few pumps of Lana's facewash. They both used the same brand and more then once Lana had come into Beck and Rosetta's room to take some so she wouldn't mind Rosetta taking a little from her.
She dried her face off and then flopped onto the bed. Ellie wiggled closer, her head on her shoulder, breathing already steady. She was asleep in minutes and as much as Rosetta loved her, it had to be one of the most annoying things about her. It was not fair that she could fall asleep in under five minutes when Rosetta couldn't even stay asleep unless she was anywhere but a bed.
She wanted to move position but couldn't with Ellie right there. She didn't want her to move away from her but then reminded herself that a relationship outside of friendship wasn't realistic. It wasn't real and it never would be, no matter how badly she wanted it.
And she wanted it desperately.
She loved everything about Ellie. She loved how gorgeous she was with brown hair and eyes. She loved how she was a sweetheart and loyal and supportive. She loved how she was creative and funny and charming in every aspect and she always smelled great. There was not a bad thing about her. Even when Ellie wanted to experiment with girls, she came to Rosetta purely because they were friends and she didn't want to go and experiment with a random person when she could test it out with Rosetta, someone she wasn't interested in dating wise, and have it be a full on test where they both knew that it could simply just be that, an experiment and nothing more.
And yet even then Rosetta still fell hard when she was well aware that it most likely would never work out anyways. She needed to let it go. Ellie had a boyfriend and wasn't interested in Rosetta or girls. Not anymore.
But it was so hard to get over it when she was with her so much and she didn't want to loose her friendship.
Her heart ached badly.
Ellie was right there beside her, cuddling with her and yet.... it meant nothing. She was nothing with her when Rosetta wanted to badly to have something beyond their friendship. And no matter how hard she tried she couldn't shake off how much she was in love with her.
What made it even worse was that even if she found the courage to confess these feelings to her and somehow, Ellie felt the same way, they would have to hide their relationship for their own safety.
Even in the place that she had been able to express and be herself the most, she was still hiding so much of who she really was. Her grand plan was to just graduate and leave and run away from everything in Gatlon and be happy, no strings attached to any part of her life here.
She just wanted to be happy.
Yet no matter what, that didn't seem like an option and she was terrified of what could happen if she tried. What ever she was able to express at school she couldn't express at home and whatever she couldn't express at school she definitely couldn't express at home on the off chance that someone at her school found out. She had kept everything, even her own EP and music videos, hidden and it wasn't until this year that she started to make an effort to bring them to things though it wasn't like they had ever asked nor cared before hand anyways.
The news about who her parents was had gotten out at the end of last year and after about a week, no one cared. Everyone was focused on their studies and wasn't really interested in anything about the Renegades or Anarchists. In high school, a lot of people just started to grow up and aim for the career they wanted.
It was a refreshing break but that didn't mean that people didn't know anything about her family or she still really wanted anyone to know anything. With the media attention always around, there was always a chance that something Rosetta wanted to keep quiet would get slipped out. While she knew her parents and siblings would never say a word, it would always end up being found out anyways and Rosetta couldn't take that risk especially with her sexuality.
There were still a few people, like one boy at her school named Jack Vales, who were incredibly homophobic and with the world being a better place to come out to now then a while ago, some media sources became more and more daring and would leak people's sexualities which was messed up and only proved to Rosetta that she couldn't let anyone know.
The only people who were aware was Danna, Narcissa, and her friend group because nearly all of them, save Ellie and Beck, were not straight or cis. Often times they covered for her.
However, Rosetta was very open about who her parents were and her sexuality on her TikTok and in her music. The only reason this happened was because the person she was most terrified of finding out, the one kid at her school, didn't have social media and no one at her school was going to snitch on her. Jack wasn't even in the music department and didn't care much for it at all, being in the wood working classes. She also had her TikTok for ages and some how the big tabloids had yet to discover it. It was like a safe haven somehow. She didn't know why but it was.
As stressful as it was, as long as that one kid never found out, her life was just the way she wanted it.
But stress still had its toll.
Rosetta got out of the bed, hugging herself tightly as she cried and went to the bathroom to hide. She didn't want to wake Ellie up and have her find out.
She curled up on the tile floor by the cabinet under the sink, big tears rolling down her cheeks. She didn't need the mirror to know that her eyes were puffy and swollen and the thought of it just made her sob harder.
Rosetta clamped a hand over her mouth to try and stifle the noise.
She hated how she was in love with Ellie. She hated how she had to hide herself. She hated how she didn't have powers and how it made her a disappointment. She hated how everyone just seemed to pity her. She hated how no one in her family gave a damn. She hated everything.
Rosetta just wanted her problems to dissolve into nothingness. If not then she wanted to dissolve into nothingness. She had been bottling all of it up so long that she wasn't sure how much more she could take though all she had to do was make it through the end of high school. But most of all she just wanted to be with Ellie.
Suddenly, in the corner of her eye, something white flickered. She looked around there was nothing and decided to ignore it.
Rosetta rubbed her eyes, wiping away tears when it appeared again, only this time only more clear. It was like a bunch of text and numbers.
She blinked out tears and focused ahead. It became more clear and somehow more confusing.
"Date Ellie
Chances: 95%" It read. Rosetta let out a small squeak.
It was impossible. She didn't have powers. She wasn't a prodigy. This was just some insane hallucination. And yet, she also knew that it probably wasn't. In middle school, both incidents that had lead to her expulsion she had sort of wanted to happen. She was so upset that she didn't care what she just wanted something bad to happen to the other person and she wanted to leave school. Both times she got her wishes and both times she remembered a little white blink in the corner of her eye and a shiver run down her spine.
Rosetta then tried to manipulate the numbers.
"Date Ellie
Chances: 100%" It then read, a shiver running down her spine as she changed it. She then returned it back to the original number. It felt wrong to change that. It made Rosetta feel like she was manipulating Ellie in a way, even though she wanted those chances to be 100% and not 95% despite 95 being a pretty good chance.
Rosetta then tried something else, proceeding to change what probability she wanted to manipulate.
"Koi Fish Swimming In a Pool Of Water Above You Appear
Chances: 100%"
And just like that there was a blob of water in the air. Two large koi fish swam calmly through it. Rosetta couldn't believe it.
She then made all the numbers and letters disappear and reappear. It was a little hard at first but after a few tries she got a handle over them. It seemed they would work when they weren't in front of her eyes, but she must not have noticed her abilities for so long because she didn't know that and she didn't know how to make them appear and disappear at will.
Rosetta was exhilarated. She really did have powers. She could probably do anything she wanted.
But she wasn't going to use them on people or to change how her relationships with people were. That felt like it was wrong and above all, to change the way people treated her just changed them as a whole she didn't want to change the way people were naturally to be treated how she wanted to be. Rosetta would be better off just finding new people to be around.
She wasn't going to tell her family either. She was definitely going to Danna and Narcissa tomorrow to tell them and she would definitely tell her friends, but she wasn't going to let her family or anyone else know. Not when she had trouble to cause.

Baby Talk
Ok, another ask down! An anon requested a part 2 to “love multiplies” where Nova learns about Lina being upset about the new baby. Enjoy this middle of the night unedited work that was made while listening to christmas music in june. (also I know the fandom has collectively decided to get rid of nodrian as parents and I reject that. Vague-post about me all you want, Renegades fandom, you cannot get rid of my 11 nodrian children)
Word count: 1244

Nova had actually been able to get out of bed today. A high accomplishment, if there ever was one. Of course, it was one in the afternoon, but better late than never, she supposed.
And after getting up she’d only vomited four times, which was also a win. And now, while she still felt incredibly nauseous, she was able to sit on the couch and curl up in a pile of blankets to watch some trashy afternoon TV.
Hyperemisis was a bitch.
Nova rubbed her swollen stomach slowly, smiling when she felt a reassuring kick. While she was feeling horrible all the time, at least her baby girl was developing just fine and was perfectly healthy. She thanked the stars for it nearly every day.
As the second hour of the cooking channel passed, Nova found herself both entirely exhausted and far too into this show.
“Sweet rot, get your act together Ron!” She yelled. “Your potatoes are going to be gummy if you mash them like that!”
“Are you enjoying your show, star?” Nova started, which caused her to gag. She managed to not throw up again by sheer force of will, and the fact that her five-year-old daughter was now watching her.
“Yeah.” She managed to get out. “Did you two have fun at the store?”
“Daddy let me get ice cream.” Evangeline giggled. “And he let me get this for the baby!”
She pulled out a large plush bear from the bag she was holding, placing it gently in Nova’s lap. The bear was light brown and white, with a red heart stitched on its belly, and the faux fur was incredibly soft.
“Oh, I’m sure the baby will love it, sweetheart.” Nova praised her daughter. Lina beamed, gave her a quick hug that made her sensitive stomach lurch, then immediately teleported to her bedroom.
This time, Nova wasn’t so lucky. When she gagged, Adrian grabbed the kitchen trash can and put it in front of her just in time for her to vomit, yet again.
She clutched the bear, leaning back miserably as Adrian gently sat beside her, brushing her hair out of her face. It had grown longer over the few months, with Nova being unable to go anywhere without puking her guts up.
“Sorry, love.”
“It’s not your fault.” Nova sighed. “She’s five, and she should be able to hug her mother without me getting sick.”
Adrian’s face tightened slightly at that, though he said nothing. Instead, he pulled the rest of the shopping bags towards him to show her everything they’d bought.
“I got two types of bottles, some more sippy cups, some bibs, those baby spoons that Lina used to use, a bunch of newborn diapers, wipes, extra pacifiers, all the good stuff.” He pulled the things out as he talked, letting Nova examine them all.
“These are cute.” She laughed, gesturing to the diapers that were patterned with little woodlands animals.
“Yeah, I thought so too.” Adrian pulled out the package of pacifiers, which had one for each color of the rainbow.
The couple continued to unpackage all the new baby things, slowly lifting Nova’s mood as she took in just how cute everything was. She didn’t remember baby products being so cute with Evangeline.
“You know, Lina said something today… about the baby.” Adrian said gently. He looked up at her from the package of bottles he was unwrapping.
Nova hummed softly, holding up the little onesie she’d found in one of the shopping bags. “What did she say?”
“She was pretty upset, actually.” Her husband murmured.
Nova glanced up at him. “What about?”
“Lina was worried that you don’t love her anymore.”
The onesie fell from Nova’s hands, dropping onto the couch softly. Every part of her seemed tense, and her nausea skyrocketed, and this time not from her HG.
“Adrian- oh stars, did she really think that?” The tears came quick and sudden, and Nova tried to choke them back in desperation.
Her husband looked on, holding his hands out for her. The crying was making her heave again, and she bent over the trashcan with a quiet sob.
Adrian rubbed her back softly as her stomach attempted to empty itself again. Only bile and spit came up, burning her throat.
“I’m a terrible mother, Adrian.” She sobbed. “Lina- she thinks I don’t love her.”
“I told her that you love her.” Her husband assured her. “I told her that you were sick and tired and just because you didn’t play with her didn’t mean you don’t love her. And I promised that we won’t love her less when the new baby comes.”
Nova wiped uselessly at the tears still coming. “But she still thought it. She thought that I don’t love her. I’m an awful mother!”
Adrian picked up the baby supplies from the couch and began to place them all on the kitchen counter. “Nova, you are a wonderful mother. How about you talk to Lina?”
She sniffled, taking a deep breath to try and regain control over herself and her nausea once more. “Okay.”
Adrian finished taking all the stuff, then poked his head around the corner. “Lina Georgina, sweetheart! Come talk to your mother.”
A moment later, Evangeline teleported into the living room. “Okay, Daddy.”
The five-year-old glanced over at Nova, taking in her obviously tearstained face. “Mommy? Are you okay?”
“Come sit with me, sweetheart.” Nova coaxed. Lina sat down on the couch, tucking herself into Nova’s side. She looked up at her, dark brown eyes wide.
“Am I in trouble?”
Nova’s heart broke yet again. Adrian had disappeared, likely hiding out in the bedroom to give them some privacy for a mother-daughter talk. But Nova wasn’t sure she could get through it without breaking down and sobbing again.
“No, sweet girl. I just wanted to talk to you. Your father said you were upset earlier, about the baby.”
Lina squirmed closer, fitting herself as close to Nova as she possibly could, even with her large stomach. Nova wrapped her arm around her daughter, planting gentle kisses on those thick curls she adored so much.
“I just don’t want you to forget about me.” Lina whispered. “Daddy said that the new baby will take up lots of time.”
“Babies do need a lot of care.” Nova said. “But I’ll always make time for you, sweetheart.”
“Do you promise?” Lina insisted. Nova squeezed her shoulders.
“I promise.”
The baby gave a few forceful kicks, and Nova shifted in discomfort. Suddenly getting an idea, she took her daughter’s hand and put it on her stomach.
“Do you feel her kicking, Lina? That’s your baby sister, right there.”
The little girl’s eyes lit up with excitement. “I can feel her, Mommy!” She looked to her stomach in fascination. “Is her kicking why you’re so sick?”
“No,” Nova chuckled. “I’m sick because I have a special condition with this pregnancy, and it means that I throw up a lot. But I’ll be okay as soon as your sister is born.”
“You hear Mommy?” Lina whispered to the belly, keeping her hands firmly pressed on it to feel the kicks. “You have to come be born soon so she can feel better.”
Nova laughed at that, and for the first time in months, she didn’t feel the sudden urge to vomit. She relished the moment, watching her daughter talk to her unborn sister.
Lina was going to make an amazing big sister.

Note
nodrian headcanons where they get to live slightly normally/where they get to take a little break from reality and just be "normal"
this was super fun to write! im a little bitter that they never got an actual, honest date in the series, so I decided to take that into my own hands. hope you like it:)
CONTAINS SUPERNOVA SPOILERS
Change is good. Change is good. Change is good.
Those three words were on a loop in Nova’s head. She stared at herself in the mirror, torn between liking the clothes on her body and wanting nothing more than to rip them off and put on leggings and a sweatshirt. It was nothing fancy, just a pair of acid washed jeans with a plain white t-shirt. She dressed it up a little bit with a necklace Honey had given her years ago and her father’s bracelet. The biggest issue was the bandana in her hair; Ruby had convinced her to buy it a few weeks ago because Nova liked the pattern. It was a simple light blue silky fabric with tiny pink flowers here and there. It was pretty, that was all. But Nova had seen how other girls had started wearing bandanas as hair accessories, and she kind of liked that, so she was now debating whether or not to keep the one she had bought tied in her hair.
She was going out on a date with Adrian for the first time since the Supernova and since they decided to break up to give one another time and figure things out. A couple weeks ago, he had  casually mentioned that he was ready whenever she was, but he would wait for her. That had terrified her, honestly, and it wasn’t until a few days ago that she sent him a text telling him that she was ready, too.
Her therapist, a nice older lady named Liza, suggested the other day Nova do something to step outside of her comfort zone, like wearing something she normally wouldn’t wear. Change could be a good thing. She didn’t have to step too far out, but maybe baby steps at first. Like instead of wearing leggings, wear a pair of jeans. Or put on a small piece of jewelry. Or wear a color a shade lighter than normal.
There was a knock at her apartment door. Nova cursed and looked at herself once more in the mirror. She bit her bottom lip, hoping that maybe that would bring some color back into it. She sprayed herself with perfume and then left her room, grabbing her bag on the way out.
Adrian smiled at her when she opened the door, eyes widening as he looked her up and down. A blush crept onto her cheeks.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
There was a short pause, borderline awkward, before he said, “You look nice,” then held out an arm. “Ready to go? There’s this new restaurant in the historic downtown that I think you’d love.”
Feeling a rush of boldness, Nova grabbed his hand instead, lacing their fingers together. His smile brightened, and he squeezed her hand. “Ready.”
__________
Nova had only been to the old downtown a few times in her life. It used to be pretty rundown and sketchy, but in recent years, there had been a revival in the area. Now there were little coffee shops, antique stores, pubs, boutiques, and more spread out over one main and four side streets. The streets had been redone as well, paved with brick like how they used to be back in the day. The only modes of transportation allowed were by foot or by cheesy horse-drawn carriages. The area was like a little bubble away from the rest of the city. And it was stunning in the evening, as everything was lit up.
Dinner had been wonderful. Adrian took her to a burger place designed like an old-timey diner; there was even a jukebox that played music from another era. They had talked and laughed as they always did, as if nothing had really changed. After all, Adrian was still Nova’s best friend, and they had always kind of known that they would get back together one day, so nothing was awkward. The only thing that was different now than it had been in recent months was that Adrian sat beside her in their booth and held her hand, absentmindedly tracing her fingers. He even got bold enough to reach a hand down beneath the table to rest on her knee at one point while they ate. Nova never once protested at his affections.
Now they were strolling down the sidewalk, sharing an ice cream in a cup with two spoons. Adrian’s jacket was still resting on her shoulders from when she got cold in the restaurant.
“I’ve been talking with the people in weapons,” Nova said, licking her thumb as a little bit of ice cream dribbled down onto it. “They’re really interested in some of my designs, how they’re better for every day crime instead of targeting prodigies-”
“No Renegade talk,” Adrian said sternly, although there was humor in his eyes. He nudged her lightly. “Remember what we agreed on?” Right. They had agreed to not bring up the Renegades or the Council or the government or anything like that. They would have a normal date as normal teenagers and not as superheroes who were known worldwide.
Nova rolled her eyes and pushed him back. “Fine, bossy. What do you want to talk about?”
Adrian didn’t answer for a minute, although Nova could feel his intense gaze on her. “Your birthday’s coming up, right? May…?”
“27th.” Nova nodded. “But it’s March, Adrian.”
“It’s still coming up.” He shook his head with a slight laugh. “Are you going to do anything?”
She shrugged. “I don’t think so. Maybe go out to eat with the team, or Ruby might force me out of my apartment to do something.” With a tiny glance in his direction, she added, “Maybe have a date with my boyfriend.”
He stopped in his tracks, and they had to move to the edge of the sidewalk as to not block the pathway. He looked down at her, joy clearly written in his features that he was trying so hard to school. Nova bit her lip to hide her grin, although it wasn’t working too well.
“Are you saying you want to be my girlfriend, Nova Artino?” She could’ve sworn he puffed his chest out a bit, maybe even raised his chin a bit higher.
“Not anymore.” She snorted and pushed him away. Noticing that their ice cream was gone, she grabbed it out of his hands and threw it out in the trash can beside her. Then, she turned to leave him, jokingly of course. As expected, he pulled her back to him, arms encircling her waist. Her laughter died in her throat, but her smile remained.
“Yes,” she answered honestly this time. “Let’s make it official.”
“Are you ready for that?” The look he gave her was so sweet, so sincere. It only made Nova love him more. “It won’t be easy, at least with the public knowing about us. And I don’t want to rush you if you need more time.”
Nova shook her head firmly. She had noticed all night the looks people gave her, the confusion and elation and anger from all different kinds of faces at the sight of her with Adrian Everhart. Some probably still thought she hated the Renegades. Some saw hope at an Artino and an Everhart coming together out of love. Some were upset that a former villain should be allowed a chance at redemption and happiness. But she had been given those looks for months whenever she was in public with one of her friends, especially Adrian. She still wasn’t used to it, maybe she never would get used to it, but it had gotten easier.
“I want you, Adrian Everhart.” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “All of you. And if that includes nosy people,” she shrugged, “then so be it. I won’t love you any differently.”
His hold on her waist tightened. He reached a hand up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, then let it rest on the back of her neck as he leaned down. Nova met him halfway, heart fluttering when he murmured so softly, just loud enough for her ears alone, “I’m so in love with you, Artino.”
The kiss was short and sweet, nothing more than a few gentle pecks. It had been a while since they had kissed, and Nova had to restrain herself from jumping in his arms and kissing him like there was no tomorrow. She knew, however, that they couldn’t. For one, they were in public. And two, there was probably a reporter hiding somewhere, camera at the ready. Nova wouldn’t be surprised if she found photos of her date with Adrian the next day, with their kiss blown up for the world to see.
But she didn’t care. Not in that moment.
__________
Adrian drove her home.
They sat in his car for a while, just talking. It was more private here. Nova allowed herself to be a bit more open with him, playing with his fingers as he recounted what Max had done the other day that got him grounded for a week.
“But my dads can barely keep the grounding serious.” Adrian shook his head in amusement. “Especially Hugh. They seem to ‘forget’ that Max is in trouble when he’s watching TV.”
Nova rolled her eyes. “I’m just glad to hear he’s adjusting okay, and that he’s not always a wise old man. It’s good for him to get in trouble.”
“I know.” Adrian chuckled. “But that still doesn’t mean I won’t preach the injustice with all the times I was grounded for doing the littlest of things.”
“You’re not exactly innocent, Mr. Everhart.” Nova narrowed her eyes at him. “You’ve had a few secrets up your sleeve. Literally.”
She tried to maintain her neutral expression as Adrian shifted his body a bit closer. “Oh, we’re going to play that game, huh?”
“I’m just saying,” she started, smile creeping onto her lips, but her defense was soon forgotten when he placed a hand on her cheek. Instinctively, she leaned into his touch. “But none of that matters anymore, right? No more secrets.”
Adrian’s lips quirked up. Her eyes were immediately drawn to them. “No more secrets,” he repeated softly. Leaning forward, he placed a kiss on her cheek. “Skies, I’ve missed you, Nova.” He pulled back a bit to face her. “I know we agreed that breaking up was for the best, and being just friends while figuring this shit out helped a ton, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t also agonizing to not be able to be with you in that way.”
Nova rested her forehead on his, feeling her neck heat up. “I missed you, too,” she murmured. “But now we have mostly everything figured out.” She paused. “I meant it when I said earlier that I’m ready.”
He kissed her, slow yet not long enough. “You’re so beautiful, Nova.”
Nova beamed against his lips and kissed him back, a bit harder than before. He responded with enthusiasm; the hand on her cheek pulled off her bandana and reached back to dig into her hair. She melted under his touch, becoming completely putty in his arms. It was hard to keep her composure. After all, it had been months since she had been this intimate with someone, as Adrian was her last.
His lips wandered down to her throat, leaving her trembling. When he was sly enough to gently pull her skin in between his teeth, Nova couldn’t hold back the moan that escaped her mouth. As her hand trailed up his back underneath his shirt, she had a brief thought to invite him in to watch a movie or something. It wasn’t too terribly late, and they still had a lot of catching up to do. But then she felt his fingers graze her hip and rest just underneath her bra as he rose back up to kiss her deeply, and suddenly she wanted nothing more than to be lost in Adrian Everhart.
However, they were in his car outside her apartment complex. His windows didn’t exactly grant them privacy. Really, it wasn’t the most romantic setting for their activity.
Sighing against him, she broke the kiss. His eyes blinked open in surprise, chest rising and falling as heavily as hers. He frowned at her.
Before he could start asking questions, Nova brought a hand to push his glasses up. Her fingers may or may not have accidentally brushed his lips when her hand fell to his cheek. She tried to catch her breath even as she spoke.  “How about we go inside where it’s more...appropriate? Watch a movie, maybe?”
Adrian glanced at their surroundings and nodded. They shared a sheepish smile, then headed inside.
They weren’t an hour into the movie before they passed out on the couch cuddling, nothing but a tangled mess of blankets and limbs.

Game Night
I was inspired to write this after finishing Supernova yesterday. I had this random thought that Nova does a weekly game night with Simon, Hugh, and Max where they talk about Adrian and he has no idea that they do this. It does contain spoilers for Supernova, so don’t read it if you haven’t read Supernova. I REPEAT: THIS FIC CONTAINS SUPERNOVA SPOILERS. Anyway. 2124 words of fluff and family bonding. Maximum fluff nodrian at the end.
This is part of a larger series that can be read as individual fics or one big one. If you’d like to read them in order, please go to the second masterlist linked below.
masterlist We Rise with the Sun masterlist
Nova didn’t bother knocking on the door of the old mayor’s mansion anymore.  SHe had no reason to now that she lived there.
It’d been almost six months since the battle at the cathedral. Six months since Ace died. Six months since she’d told Hugh Everhart--Captain Chromium, one her boyfriend’s dads--that she, a villain, was in love with his son. Six months since he told her he didn’t believe there were villians anymore.
It’d also been about six months since game night began.
Game night started off simple enough. One night a few weeks after the supernova, Nova got a message from Max asking her to come over. This was nothing out of the ordinary now that he was actually able to interact with people without stealing their powers, so she went to the mansion without a second thought.
When she got there, however, she’d been surprised that Simon Westwood--her boyfriend’s and Max’s other dad--opened the door. “Nova, good to see you. Come on in. Max and Hugh are in the living room,” he said with a smile.
She found her lips mimicking his out of habit. “No Adrian?” She asked as she stepped into the threshold. The few times she’d been to the mansion Adrian was always with her, it was strange that he wasn’t there now. And as nice as Simon and Hugh had been to her since the battle, she knew she had a lot to do to earn their trust.
Simon shook his head. “No he’s with Oscar planning some one month anniversary thing for Ruby, I think.”
“Right. He mentioned that a couple days ago.” She pulled her hat and heavy winter coat off, hanging them on the wooden pegs by the door. “I bet he’s going to jump out of a cake or something in the middle of HQ.”
He laughed. “I wouldn’t put it past him.” Together they walked down the hallway to the refurbished living room.
Max smiled at her from where he sat on the floor. “Hi Nova! You ready for game night?”
Nova blinked a few times. “Game night?”
And that had been that. Every Wednesday night Nova, Max, Simon, and Hugh had game night without Adrian. It was a good way for them to get to know her better, for them to trust her. It didn’t hurt that she also got to hear a lot of ridiculous stories about Adrian as a child. A lot of very cute stories.
Tonight they were playing Uno, which was admittedly the most dangerous game they played so they didn’t do it often. Even though they were heroes, whenever a draw 4 card was set down threats were thrown around--very violent threats. Nova said she’d put someone to sleep and make them wake with the worst headache anyone could experience. Hugh would make a chromium knife and twirl it in is hand while biting his lip. Simon’s left eye would twitch and his fists would clench the table so hard his knuckles turned white. And Max? Max would curse the person out so much it would make any sailor blush. Uno was the only time that Simon and Hugh wouldn’t scold him for it.
Hugh shuffled the cards with his large hands, then started dealing them out. “Everyone remember the rules?”
“No putting anyone to sleep,” Nova said.
“No lying that I have to go to the bathroom then turning invisible to come look at your cards,” Simon added with a sigh.
Hugh looked at his husband with his eyebrows raised. “Or?”
“Or anywhere else.”
The first couple times they played Uno that was a problem. There was no such thing as honor when it came to Uno, Simon had said after Nova felt his body near her and elbowed him in the ribs.
Hugh nodded. “Good. Max?”
Max was grinning at his cards. Nova couldn’t help thinking the kid had a terrible poker face. Well, he didn’t even have a poker face.
“What?” Max asked.
“What’s another rule?”
“Hey, I don’t have any rules that apply to me except the normal ones. You’re the ones that cheat, not me.”
Nova couldn’t help rolling her eyes at that. Just because the kid didn’t have powers anymore didn’t mean he was incapable of cheating, in fact he’d done it many times. True to his former hero name, the Bandit was excellent at stealing things, but also hiding them.
“Alright, fine,” Max said with a scowl. “No hiding cards.”
“Right. And what happens when someone breaks one of the rules?” Hugh asked. He set the remaining stack of cards in the middle of the coffee table and flipped the top one over as their starter card.
“They have to drink a glass of pickle juice,” Nova said. “Now let’s get on with it. I need to redeem myself after Clue last week. I still can’t believe I lost to you of all people.”
Hugh grinned as he took his turn. The winner of the week before always went first. “It was a very embarrassing defeat for you.”
They started off in a clockwise direction, and Max was next. The first few times around were uneventful, each wanting to hold onto the special cards until they got some numbers out of the way.
“So,” Simon said. “Who wants to share their most interesting Adrian story first?” He put a reverse card down, making Nova grumble.
She started to draw cards until she had one she could use, then set it on the pile. “He was pretty much his usual self around me. Didn’t do anything embarrassing.” Well, there was one thing that happened, but that was while they were making out and it was important for context that they were making out, so she wasn’t going to tell his dads and little brother about it.
“Liar,” Max said.
“Am not.”
“Are too.”
Hugh interrupted the back and forth bickering he knew was about to happen. “Max has a point. You always have an Adrian story for us.”
She could make something up that sounded Adrian like, but she’d promised herself and Adrian and his family that she wouldn’t lie to them anymore. “It’s hilarious, but if I tell you, you’re going to be grossed out,” she warned.
“Oh?” Simon seemed intrigued now. “Is it PG?”
Max set another card down. “I’m eleven, I think I can handle PG-13 after all the crazy things I’ve done.”
“That depends, on how PG-13 it is,” Hugh said as he eyed Nova. It was one of those looks that made her feel like she was undercover as a renegade again. It made her feel like she’d be sent to prison if they found out her secrets. Not that they would.
“It’s on the low end of PG-13,” Nova said.
Simon glared at his husband when Hugh set down a draw four. He drew the cards and seemed even more frustrated my what they were. “I want a divorce.”
Hugh grinned. “No you don’t. And go ahead and tell us Nova.”
She very pointedly didn’t make eye contact as she laid her card down. “Adrian wasn’t paying attention when he went to kiss me and accidentally stuck his tongue up my nose a little bit. It was weird. His cheeks were so bright it looked like he was wearing face paint.”
Simon snorted, Hugh covered his mouth with his hand to hold in his laughter, and Max made a disgusted face.
“I told you it was gross.”
“I can’t believe he…” Simon started laughing so hard he had to set is cards down.
Now that he was laughing, Nova looked them in the eyes with a small smile on her face. “Honestly, neither can I.”
“How would that even happen?” Hugh wheezed. “Please… please don’t tell me he kisses you with his tongue out all the time, because if he does we’re going to have to talk about that.”
“No, he definitely doesn’t,” Nova assured him. “I have no idea what he was trying to do that day and he knows better than to do… whatever that was again.”
Max gave her a look “Up your nose?”
“Only a little, but it was enough to be weird. I think he was going to lick the tip of my nose because I was annoying him.”
“And he misjudged the distance,” Simon mused now that he was calmed down a little bit. He picked his cards back up and took his turn, but he was still smiling at his ridiculous son. “We know his vision is terrible without his glasses, but he’s always been a bad shot with a gun too. Maybe his depth perception is off.”
Hugh set another card down. “But it hasn’t been much of a problem before. Drawing takes depth perception and he’s great at that.”
“It actually doesn’t take that much,” Nova said.
Simon and Hugh looked at her curiously.
She flushed slightly, still not exactly used to the two of them looking at her like she had more answers than them. “Well, think about it. Drawing happens on a two dimensional surface, he only needs to look at the piece of paper, or glass, or wall, or whatever he’s drawing on. But shooting, or aiming at anything really, requires you to be more spatially aware.”
There were a few beats of silence, as if Simon and Hugh were thinking over what Nova said, wondering if maybe their son needed to go to the optometrist again sooner than his yearly appointment.
Max set a skip card down. “It’s still gross that he stuck his tongue up your nose.”
“It really is,” Nova agreed. “What’s your Adrian story for the week?”
“He charmed an ice cream lady into giving me free ice cream,” Max said with a grin. “He forgot his wallet when we went yesterday and offered to take a picture with her in exchange.”
“Why wouldn’t you guys just come back and get it?” Hugh asked.
Just as Max opened his mouth, they could hear the front door open. Footsteps resounded down the hall toward them. “I’m home!” Adrian called to no one in particular.
“We’re in the living room!” Hugh called back as he tossed another card down.
Adrian stepped into the room and his brow furrowed the second he saw his dads, brother, and girlfriend sitting on the floor around the coffee table. “Uh… what’s going on in here?”
“Game night,” they chorused without looking away from their hands.
“Oooookay that was creepy.” He walked across the room and sat on the couch behind Nova. Leaning over he pressed a kiss to her cheek.
She gently swatted him away. “Don’t look at my cards, you’d just go tell Max what I have.”
“What?” He laughed. “No I wouldn’t.”
“Yes you would,” Nova, Simon, and Hugh said together.
Adrian made a face. “You guys gotta stop doing that.”
“And you need to stop sticking your tongue up Nova’s nose,” Max said.
His cheeks heated, eyes darting back down to Nova. “You told them?”
She at least looked sympathetic when she turned toward him and rested her cheek on the side of his thigh. “Sorry. They pried it out of me. But in my defense, you didn’t give me any other good stories to tell them for this week.”
“What does that even mean?” he asked, more more confused than he’d been when he walked in. “Stories? You do--” Adrian paused mid sentence, eyes widening with realization. “You guys have been talking about me. That’s how you knew about the incident at the parade when I was thirteen.” He looked at his fathers. “You promised you’d never tell anyone about that.”
Simon grinned widely. “Actually we promised we’d never tell any of your friends about that, and we haven’t. Nova’s your girlfriend, therefore we haven’t broken any promises.”
“Friend is in the word!”
Nova reached her hand up to cup Adrian’s cheek, giving him a soft smile. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone your secret.”
He sighed and leaned into her, trusting her. “No more swapping stories about me.”
“Now that I can’t do. This is our destressing time.”
“You can destress with me.”
She shook her head. “No can do. Your dads and Max need this too. You’re more than welcome to join us if you want to listen to stories about yourself though.”
“I’ll pass.”
“In that case…” Nova let her power surge through her, putting him into a peaceful nap. Adrian slumped back against the couch.  He’d wake up in an hour or two feeling refreshed. By then they’d be done with game night and she could spend some quality time with him.
She turned back to the table where it was still her turn.
“Go drink the pickle juice,” Max said. “You cheated.”
“He wasn’t even playing!”

carmen sandiego: carmelia

miraculous ladybug: love square and marigami
voltron: sdfgfds i’m not gonna touch that (but found family ftw)
camp camp: gwenvid
atla: sokka/suki is cute but once again FOUND FAMILY FTW (also maiko but like only as a short fling during the first half of s3 because i love their angsty sarcastic dynamic)
15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?
idk i tend to only go for ships if there’s a bunch of existing content for them, whether it be canon or fanon, so not really. nothing that i go crazy for haha. that’s the aromanticism for you!
39. What is you greatest strength as a writer?
I love writing descriptive stuff and more character study-style pieces rather than dialogue or action based ones. I also have a really big vocabulary and I really like using less common words that have really specific connotations and meanings to really get a certain nuanced point across.
46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?
umm, I would usually say Family (yes that’s the fic I just rec’ed on the fanart question) because I’ve always been really proud of that one but I reread it for the previous question to better describe the scene I had in mind and it’s not as good as I remember so idk haha. I guess that’s a testament to my growth as a writer! In more recent developments, I’m also pretty proud of What’s In a Family?. It’s not perfect but I really wanted to write some Boyd family stuff after Astro Boyd. I’m also proud of Key to a Memory and it’s love, not rocket science.
51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!
I just absolutely love that with the technology we have now it’s so easy to write and share your writing with people. I’ve wanted to be an author since I was pretty young, but I didn’t actually start writing and posting until I was presented with the opportunity to. It’s so nice to write something and then get like immediate validation haha. I also really like that a lot of the people who like/comment/reblog my fics are fellow authors, and the community we build through our mutual love of writing and reading. There are two authors in particular that I really admire that will periodically like my fics and that always makes me so happy.
thanks this was so fun to answer!!

Renegades Disney Princess/Prince AU
Nova - Mulan (Mulan): They are both pretending to be something they are not to help/avenge their family. They are also both awesome and badass female warriors who care about their honour. I also think the scene where Mulan climbs the pillar to get the arrow in 'Be A Man' is kind of like when Nova beat up gargoyle (like they were both underestimated and eventually achieved their goal with hard work).
Adrian - Kristoff (Frozen): Both are sweet and occasionally awkward characters. Both try to resist falling in love but fail miserably. (Olaf would be Max!) Oh, and the whole “May we kiss” part from frozen is so cute and awkward, much like when Nodrian kiss and Adrian is just super awkward.
Oscar - Aladdin (Aladdin): Both are extremely in love with their girlfriends, to the point where no one can resist the adorableness. Both were underestimated and disliked at first, with Aladdin being a thief and Oscar being crippled. Both are pretty mischievous and are general really good characters.
Ruby - Rapunzel (Tangled): Both have awesome hair and super sad backstories. They are both pretty fun and energetic. Other than that I don't really know except I just get a really strong Rapunzel vibe from Ruby. Maybe its just me. (If you guys have a better idea, feel free to @ me. That goes for all of the characters.)
Danna - Tiana (Princess and The Frog): Smart and independent women who are super hard workers. I also think they are both down to earth and think logically. Responsible girls who have to take care of their friends.

Nodrian is not end game. They are first love's. Post-supernova, sure they might be together for a while, but then something's gonna happen and they're gonna be like 'maybe we should not do this rn'. Then they get therapy and sort through everything that happened, and when they're feeling better, sure, they might try again, but, ultimately THERE IS TOO MUCH BAGGAGE FILLED WITH SHIT BETWEEN THEM FOR ANYTHING TO HAPPEN THAT ENDS IN MARRIAGE AND FAMILY. Like they were trying to kill each other for a good few months, not to mention everything that happened beforehand, and that's just not going to go away easily if ever. Sure they may be end game eventually, but it will take a lot more than a few months of therapy. They hurt each other/were trying to hurt each other and they will carry that guilt and those memories with them for a long time, therapy will help, yes, but it is my firm belief that nova was only drawn to adrian bc he was the kindest person she had literally ever met apart from her parents, and there will be other kind people she will meet after the public find out about her name and everything that comes with that. Speaking of ace (subtext ppl), nova was brainwashed into hating the renegades at a very young age, and will likely spend the rest of her life undoing that damage, hence it being highly unlikely that she would end up with a renegade, hell once the new system is set up she might just leave it all alone. And now onto adrian. He is just as much of a mess as nova but in different ways - he created his mother's killer, he trusted nova when she was still nightmare, etc. And if him taking away her bracelet isn't enough proof for you then I don't know what is (that is also something that would be between them, like he practically shipped her off to cragmoor, it's no wonder she ran straight into the arms of the anarchists afterwards - or would have if supernova didn't fuck everything up). Not to mention that nova just stood there while honey was torturing him, and if that didn't break trust then idk what would. Now while he may not have had too much shit going on before the books, the events of the books were not great for him. Yes, he would go to therapy, but I doubt that would make the nightmares go away entirely. Not to mention they do still have to grow, and will likely grow apart bc adrian saw a pretty girl and nova saw a pretty boy and it would have been so much easier if they had just been a girl and boy. Even then, they would have still grown apart without the baggage.
I'm not saying they wouldn't care about each other, they would, but they just likely wouldn't talk to each other for years and be friends after it. Alternatively, they might also always be each other's 'what if', their 'maybe if we hadn't been trying to save the world at sixteen'. And none of that really screams end game, does it?
