The day I almost left the Kirby Fandom (and the internet in general)

It's hard to get this out but since I think it should be told, I'll shoot my shot here.

I am a shipper of certain ship that is basically the mainstream ship in the Kirby Fandom (We all know what that is), and we know the majority of the fandom ships this, but there are many people that dislike the ship (which shouldn't be a problem), for x or y reasons.

I've made some friends in the fandom which liked other ships which I don't have any problem with it, because those ships are fairly great too, but they all have expressed their hatred for that ship I talk about because ''It's so popular it hurts'' or ''It ruined the characters'' or outright homophobia, so it made me not want to tell what I shipped.

It came one day when I did fanart of that certain ship, and all of a sudden, those people don't talk to me anymore and days later, i get harrassed anonymously by I am gonna assume various accounts, because I don't really think the amount of harrassment I got would be reduced to 3 people making 30 accounts at once, and at this point, I just tried to pretend everything was okay and kept talking and stuff without putting much effort on what made me feel sad

It got to a point the next day where I just couldn't bear it anymore and decided to erase some of my accounts, but not my discord and tumblr because at least it seemed that the harrassment (ie, death threats and stuff) had stopped or at the very least, reduced.

I still remember that vividly to this day, and I dunno, seeing people that ship other stuff and throw shade at what I ship now feels like I am in the wrong here, and at this point, I still don't know

Aka Freminet as Spiderman which was my part from a collab on Instagram- an event hosted by furret_waffle and neighborhood_dirt_lord on instagram

Spider Freminet facts n lore

- he is a hero of both under and above the water

- lyney was the first to know (soon followed by lynette) and became asap his brother in the chair and behind the scenes helper

- lyney designed the outfit but the whole thing was mainly made by freminet

- .... canon event .... sorry lynette (but heyyy lynette robot theory is canon in this world)

- the diving helmet is pretty much akin to the in game one tho it services also as a communication device and etc.

- sometimes in dire situation where talking oneself out, lyney always helps + voice changer
