I finished Ignite me 🧍‍♀️

Usually I would write my thoughts out in the journal app along with a summary of what I read so far, but not this time.

I breezed through the story with very few pauses. All i can say is I very much loved what happened.

Though this is very different from other books. It’s like a contemporary but it just happens to be in a fantasy/dystopian world.

I wonder if the guy who was doing the sound wave booms is going to be in the next book and how they are going to get all the soldiers and citizens of their continent(?) to start rebuilding but also prepare for the inevitable war that’s to come with the rest of the commanders. I hope now that this has happened they’ll be able to find more people with the mutation for power.

Juliette and Aaron are so cute though 😭 I love them. KENJI I HOPE U GET URSELF A BAE TOO.

I really enjoyed reading your Cellbit cannibalism analysis. you explained it so well and that's pretty much exactly how I imagine it going but you were in depth I would have enjoyed it regardless. Ahhh my absolute favorite part though was "Cellbit hates himself, and Roier mumbles that he loves him." and everything about that. Cellbit and Roier's whole relationship from you is *chef's kiss*

I wanted to ask your opinion because I'm indecisive--bad/cellbit is bad on top or bottom? (totally seperate from their lore this is a current general question not back then)

I'm glad you enjoyed reading! I was really happy with the response on that analysis hehehe everyone was so amazing about it! I really enjoy character analysis so that was originally something I wrote just for myself so I'm really happy other people managed to enjoy it!!

Okay so, if you're talking about the AU you're writing I say bottom Cellbit. Cellbit is the most whiny, big teary eyed bottom in my head. He CAN be dominate, but the second someone shows some force towards him he melt into a puddle and gets so wet he doesn't know what to do with himself. He's used to being in charge so having it taken away from him kind of turns him on.

I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As much as Radio Silence is my personal favorite Oseman book, I think that IWBFT is objectively her best-written one ever.

I loved how, although it's written in first person, we can see the discrepancies in Angel and Jimmy's life. For example, she thinks that the fandom can give her the happiness she needs, but we can see that it won't work.

I also really liked the religious symbolism; it is easy to turn religious imagery into a cheap aesthetic, but Oseman was able to draw these amazing parallels between Jimmy and Angel's lives, between his music, his personal life and his beliefs… It was nicely done.

The double point of view was also managed really well.

Another reason Frozen is different for me to experience: I watch how Elsa handles herself, and how her parents, and then Anna handle her. And it is so difficult to watch because if it was me, I would know exactly how to talk to Elsa, and how to get her to trust herself.

Her powers function exactly like intrusive thoughts. If you believe they are dangerous, that “danger” grows. If you trust yourself, the danger disappears. I knew this at 14, 7 years before Frozen came out.

Her parents panicked in the beginning -

No Agnarr, getting mad at your daughter for an accident, no matter how bad that accident was, will not help. In fact it will create a blue print for Elsa to fear herself.

Iduna please speak up about your origin because it could help Elsa and it would help Elsa feel less alone. She will feel relief. She will have more control.

And the Anna, dear Anna, with her boundless, eager, unstoppable love -

Anna, Elsa is literally creating a blizzard right in front of you. Your love is the key, but not at this very moment. The best strategy in this moment is to step away and come back when she has calmed.

Elsa needed someone to help walk her through her anxiety WHICH I COULD HAVE DONE

[chapter 17]

I have a theory. But i don’t know how good the theory really is. So in the blurb it says that this is somewhat a superhero story and knowing that Warner is endgame for Juliette, it made me think that he could possibly have his plans for the rebellion. It is now specifically stated that he is a part of the reestablishment and was able to get the position through hard work and his dad. But something tells me that he has bigger plans and that’s why he needs this position.

In this chapter, he shoots a man through the forehead for helping the rebels. My guess is that if the soldiers are caught doing these acts he has no choice but to kill them, or else his position would be put into question and his motives as well.

Now…let’s keep reading and see how stupid this theory is 😪
