the beyond evil ost, very much like the show, goes from sexy + mysterious + jazzy to sexy + sad in the way that it tricks audiences into thinking “ohoooo murder murder murder small creepy hometown and ambiguous characters and MURDER” and then you end the show realizing that this is first and foremost a love story about how two people can find each other and how all roads, in the end, lead you to the ones you love and the ones who love you and how you’ve suffered enough, come out and see the light is bright as ever and i’m walking toward the reason i hoped for and at the end...i’ll hold out  my hands or something like that and you expected me to be okay after watching this show you expected me to be okay after watching this show you--

#caroline talks #beyond evil #i am relistening to the beyond evil ost again. #me: oh i think i can be normal now #me listening to the ost: oh no. . . . . #similarly. . . .the beyond evil opening theme + 'who is the monster?' . . . . #the fact that 'who is the monster' is just the slowed + piano version of the beyond evil opening theme.... #because the way the opening theme is kinda frightening + suspenseful and dark and you think 'OHOOO MURDER SHOW' #but then you listen to 'who is the monster?' and you wind up bawling your eyes out because you realize underneath that creepiness #there's just an infinite amount of sadness and grief and longing and loneliness and that's dong sik's character #'who is the monster?' is just. . . .it's just the slowed and quieter version of the beyond evil opening theme and it makes me sob #i think every goddamn time about the rain scene. . . .i think every goddamn time about joo won kneeling and crying #no i can't quite get over them. #what a love story. what a love story. god.
