I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it
So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.
Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role
Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong
Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself
Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong
Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder
...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).
I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

If it was possible to take the pure joy and excitement I felt when it downed on me that Gerry was officially back and make that into a pill depression levels worldwide would immediately reach zero percent

But no seriously though....
George was the one who disclosed what the title of the og series actually means. It is a Targaryen prophecy. A legacy handed down to each heir. Much like the Stark's Winter is Coming. I have never read Fire and Blood, so I don't know if Rhaeger was the one who discovered this legacy after ages or if Aerys knew too. But regardless over the years Winter is Coming became more and more related to the hardship of surviving the land, than a warning about the cold dead things that go bump in the night.
Like okay think about it! You have these two houses, right? And one passes on the ominous message through generations: be careful, be aware, winter would come again and with it would come death. And on the other side we have another house where they are like: be prepared. Be prepared for the song of life and death. If you aren't prepared all hope is lost.
And so we have one raise a Wall, a shield to guard the men. And if the Starks ( the lords of winterfell who have been given the knowledge; whose moral obligation was to make sure that those at the Wall were ready) are the first line of defense, the Targaryens ( the lords of fire) are the sword. You can only do so much with a shield, and without a shield how do you safely wield the sword?
And so to think! To fucking think!!! you have Jon Snow at the Wall and Dany in the East and both of them coming together to be the shield and the sword! Like oof!! Oof!!! Ooooof!!!!

Literally clutching my stomach rn the painting he gave to mike is probably his first painting ever. He's primarily a drawing person bc they can't afford actual paints but then they MOVE and Joyce gets money from the government and a new job and they can finally afford paints and he didn't know what to make but he knew he wanted to make it for the guy he loves, the one who still has his drawings all over his walls, even the ones from kindergarten that have hearts all over them, and if he was gonna paint anything he would want to know it would be appreciated afterwards even if it sucked. Oh god my...my stomach...

ok so i grew up with autism and adhd so obviously the new mythic quest episode hit home today so here are some thoughts
-young poppy’s actress (isla rose hall) was PHENOMENAL in terms of casting and acting and just generally replicating charlotte’s mannerisms? wth???
-also i love me some wasian representation yas
-the scene where ian was talking about how he’s dumb is just SO adhd. i feel that exact same way all the time. it’s tough to be the ‘wrong’ type of smart.
-his relationship with his mom is absolutely crushing, she seems so supportive at first and it’s like wow i would’ve loved to have a parent that encouraged my differences! but then it becomes clear that she’s probably bipolar, clearly neglectful etc and just OUCH
-how something so positive to ian becomes bad so fast
-also this is an ian’s date HATE CLUB. FUCK THAT MAN. also the casting and acting for ian’s dad was amazing and you can really see how ian kind of inherited his dad’s mannerisms.
-another thing that i related to a lot as a neurodiverse bitch was how poppy’s special interest in gaming was discouraged by her parents! when her dad asked her why she couldn’t put as much energy into practicing piano as she could into gaming, i was devastated! i was always told stuff like this as a kid: ‘if only you could put as much energy into schoolwork as you can into creative writing/dnd campaigns/analyzing tv shows/researching psychology’!
-poppy being autistic is so real and so important to me. she’s audhd fr. she doesn’t know what a joke is. her attempts to make a joke fail horribly. who needs friends when you have your special interest. god she’s so me
-and ian’s 2009 beard is shit
