musical tag! rules 🎶 :: when you get this, list 5 songs you’ve been listening to & tag people
thank you for the tag rowan @sollucets!! i am always looking for an excuse to talk about music <33
i used this song in this edit recently and it rekindled my love for this album. not that that love ever waned that much cause it's like. foundational to who i am as a person
another throwback and not to be an asshole but in college i got to see rks at this tiny historic club when they were still teeny tiny and now shitty acoustic covers of their songs are being used in tiktoks. so
i've had this album on repeat for months. picked this track because of the queer religious trauma + sick harmonies in the second verse
i need to listen to more of caroline cause every song i know by her fucks but i love how cinematic this one is also her VOICE
måneskin's english tracks have gotten steadily better but i still tend to like their songs in italian more and this is my fave off rush!
not tagging anyone cause this took me longer than i expected and i have to run out the door but if we're mutuals i really truly wanna see your picks so do it and tag me if you want!!

Step {Back} In Time
Pairing: Five Hargreeves x Fem! OC
Author's Note: Hello and welcome. This is my season two fic (and sequel to Time and Chase). I will be posting daily. *Please note that I am well aware that Elliot Page portrays Viktor, but due to season two being before his transition, that is why his character is still Vanya. I am not deadnaming him and I sincerely hope I don't come across as such. I will transition when I write season three.*
Warnings: Slightly long post, cursing, violence, lots of blood, and mention of death.

Öga For Öga
~ * ~
On April the 1st, 2019, the Earth was destroyed in a cataclysmic event.
Billions of people were wiped out in a matter of minutes.
Ironically, the seven survivors of the apocalypse were the very family members who brought it on.
~ * ~
1982
Five and Karina made their way to the hotel, with Five reading the paper to make sure they were at the right place. More or less time period. The two slipped inside the hotel, surrounded by people dressed in some European folk attire.
"Excuse me," Five went over to a lady near the front desk.
"Uff da!" she shot up quickly. "You two snuck up on me there. If you're looking for the cookies, we don't put 'em out till 3:00."
"I can hardly wait," Five dryly returned.
"Uh, ma'am, do you happen to know where the Midwest Soybean Society is meeting?" Karina inquired sweetly.
The lady smiled at her fondly. "Sure do, honey bun. Muskellunge Banquet Room. You two looking for your mom? She in for the convention?"
"Hey, could I get some change?" Five noticed the vending machine in the hall behind her, holding out a few bills.
"Oh, sure, I'll just look in my purse," the lady took it as Karina gave him a sideways look. The lady exhaled softly when she pulled out some coins. "Only a nickel and a couple of dimes. Oh! You…are…in…luck, mister." She placed the coins in his hand and chuckled softly.
"You know, some say the best luck is to die at the right time," Five told her out of the blue.
The lady stared at him speechlessly before he meandered away to the vending machine.
"I…am so sorry. You'll have to excuse my boyfriend. He takes his poetry and literature very seriously," Karina lied to the poor woman before running off after Five.
Five was busily shaking the vending machine and yelling at it. "Stupid mother Fudge Nutter!" he slammed against it and cracked the glass. "Fuckin' Fudge Nutter!"
"How much damage are you going to inflict onto that poor vending machine?" Karina crossed her arms.
Five growled and stepped back to her side. "Why do I even bother with things anymore? Nothing ever goes according to plan."
"Mm, I think your marriage is holding up pretty well."
"It might be the only thing holding up compared to all the other shitstorms thrown at us."
"Let's just get this over, shall we?" Karina looked at him rather expectantly.
Five noticed she was shaking more than she would ever care to admit and he could sense her nerves clear across the room. He'd almost never seen her more afraid in his life. Nervous yes, uneasy, of course. But scared? She tried to hide her fear if anything else.
"Rina? What was the Handler talking about earlier?" he questioned, taking her firmly by the shoulders. "I need to know if you feel up to doing this."
Karina sighed. "It's a long story. I just never liked killing people. But, we need to get home and this is the only way to do it."
"Love-"
"We're wasting time, Five. I'm fine," she cut him off, but seeing the look on his face made her relent. "Okay, okay. She sent me out on a mission for something once, testing to see if I would make for a good field agent, because she thought about partnering us up. Well, it backfired, but I made it out and she decided against it in the end."
"Why was this never brought up to me? I could have helped you," Five was slightly upset now as they made their way to the meeting room.
"Because she didn't give me a choice and I didn't get the chance to tell you before she shoved me out of the nest," Karina heavily sighed, looking down whilst shaking her head. "And honestly, Five, after it happened, I didn't want to talk about it. I just wanted to forget it. Even the Handler didn't ever mention it after I got back."
"Did something happen to you?" he slowly looked at her.
Karina paused for a moment. "Yes," she quietly responded. "However, it's in the past and I'd love for it to stay there."
"I'm sorry. If you…ever want to talk about it again, just let me know," he took a breath.
She flashed him a ghost of a smile. The two continued walking to the meeting room, though Five eyed a large cake along the way and swiped his finger along the icing.
"That's sanitary of you," Karina scoffed as he licked the icing.
"Buttercream. Not bad," he spotted an axe hanging on the wall.
He grabbed the axe as Karina pulled out the dagger. The two stared at the doors and took a breath.
"Shall we make it rain?" Five glanced at Karina.
"Let's do it."
And with that, the two barged into the meeting room, weapons at the ready.
"Let's move on to article 17, please," AJ spoke as they entered. He gasped and shot up when he saw them. "You two!" he looked at Karina. "I thought you were only the Head of the briefcase division!"
"Decided to shake things up with a little help," Karina smirked.
"Call security!" AJ ordered as a woman hurried to the phone.
However, Five blinked over to her and cut her arm off as Karina threw her dagger, stabbing another. Gasps and screams erupted all around as the blood bath raged on. The two ruthlessly took out the Directors, stabbing and slicing their way through them without giving the members any last chance. One body was shoved through the ceiling and electricity crackled.
AJ shakily cowered down beneath the table as Five suddenly blinked onto the table with Karina. They were glaring down at him.
"She sent you two, didn't she?" AJ questioned.
"Does it really matter now?" Five scoffed.
"Whatever she offered you, I will double it, triple it!"
"We're not doing this for money," Karina stated as Five raised his axe.
The attendant from earlier came flying in, knocking both of them down as they crashed onto the ground.
"Get off me!" Five grunted, struggling to throw her off of him as Karina barely rolled out of the way.
"You're gonna pay for that vending machine, little mister!" she was fighting him.
"Yeah? I don't wanna hurt you, all right?"
"Hurt me? Oh, I ain't afraid of you, you little pus ball!"
Karina got to her feet and struck the woman in the back of her head with the handle of her dagger and knocked her unconscious. The lights were crackling above them as they looked around wildly to find that AJ escaped.
"Shit!" they both exclaimed, leaping to their feet.
They each grabbed a large paddle off the mantel before Five blinked them out. AJ was running down the hall when they reappeared in front of him and he gasped.
"Surely we can come to some form of agreement that benefits both parties!" he exclaimed. "Quid pro quo? What do you two say?"
Five scoffed. "Why not? Here's your quid-" he struck AJ in the side and he shrieked.
"Here's your pro!" Karina hit him in the knees and he groaned, collapsing to the floor.
Five lined up his paddle with the tank.
"No! No! Please don't!" AJ whimpered desperately.
"Here's your quo," Five finished.
"No…!" AJ wailed as Five's paddle smashed into the tank.
Water gushed out everywhere and the goldfish flailed onto the floor. His body fell down, thudding onto the ground.
Five and Karina let out a breath, covered in blood and hoping the price of their murder spree was worth paying.
~ * ~
The two were waiting impatiently in the alleyway. AJ was in a bag grasped by Five.
"Well?" the Handler appeared behind them. Five shoved his arm out and she gasped. "AJ!" she triumphantly cackled and cooed over the fish. She sighed, looking at Five. "You know, you're really starting to fill out those tight little shorts of yours." She glanced at Karina next. "And you are really starting to show off some serious potential in this field!" The Handler  giggled as the couple glared at her. "Why so quiet? Thought you'd be buzzing after this morning's slaughter, especially since you did it together. Or is it like that one saying? Happy wife, happy life? Except…unhappy wife, unhappy life?" she chuckled at her own terrible joke.
"All this killing…I'm done with it," Five bit out. "And you have some nerve to send Rina out with me. More or less all those years ago, behind my back!"
The Handler was rather taken back by his outburst. "What? Am I supposed to take that seriously?" She whipped out a handkerchief and began dabbing away the blood on their faces.
"What we did today, we did for our family. We did it to save the world," he glared at her.
"Please. Spare me your little assassin with the heart of gold routine, will you?" the Handler remarked. "Here." She picked up the briefcase. "Per our agreement, this will get you, your wife, and your siblings back to 2019." She handed it to Karina. "You both have 90 minutes."
That caught their attention real quick as the Handler strolled off.
"You said nothing about a time limit!" Karina snapped.
"Actually, you have 89 minutes and 30 seconds, my lovely flower. Better hurry!"
"This is impossible, okay? My siblings are scattered across the city!" Five added desperately.
"Nothing's impossible. You two proved that this morning when you killed the board."
"We need more time!"
"Any more time, and people will start asking questions. The sooner you get home and out of this time period, the better off the three of us will be, so, ticktock, ticktock," the Handler softly said, almost menacingly.
Five looked like he was about to explode, but he shot her one last glare before blinking himself and Karina out. The two blinked inside the lobby of Elliot's place.
"Oh my God…" Karina pointed to the message written in blood on the floor.
"Shit," Five breathed out and the two quickly raced upstairs.
The two found a body with a cloth draped over it in a chair and he went over to investigate who it was. He drew down the cloth and the two hissed out in horror when they saw who it was.
"Elliot…" Karina drew out softly and sadly.
Five swallowed hard, staring down at him sorrowfully before wordlessly pulling the cloth back over him. The two began looking around for the rest of the family. Well, first they ducked down to properly and fully clean off the blood on their faces. They could hear Luther and Diego whispering.
"You will be dead by nightfall," Diego harshly threatened over the phone.
"Hey!" Five caught their attention. "It's Öga För Öga, idiots. Swedish for "an eye for an eye." It means the Swedes killed Elliott." He slid off his blazer as Karina took her jacket off.
"Wrong number. Have a lovely day," Diego said into the phone before slamming it onto the receiver.
Five sputtered some.
"We would've gotten there," Luther looked at Diego.
"Eventually."
"Yeah."
Five and Karina sighed, listening to the rather dumbfounded brothers.
Diego turned to them. "Uh, you two have some blood on you," Luther observed.
They slipped past them to the bathroom.
"A lot of blood, actually," Diego continued, watching them go.
"Five, Karina what did you do?" Luther was exasperated.
Karina shut the bathroom door on them and locked it.
"You guys better not plan on boning in there!" Diego loudly told them as the two brothers walked off.
That was not their plan at all. All they needed was to wash the blood out of their clothes so, they just opted to use the sink. Five let Karina go first, though she needed a shower more than anything so while she got a shower, he rinsed out the blood and dried her clothes as best as he could. The two switched positions once they were done. Once they were decent enough, Karina reopened the door.
"So we found a way home," Five announced as he redid his tie with Karina's help.
"What? How?" Luther questioned from outside the doorway.
"All the details are irrelevant, but…we made a deal to get back to our timeline," Karina responded, gently fixing Five's hair for a moment.
"What about doomsday?" Diego piped up.
"Won't happen," Five softly thanked Karina and plopped a kiss on her cheek.
"And the 2019 apocalypse?" Luther added.
"Everything will be back to normal. All right?" Karina assured them as the two left the bathroom.
"Now, no more questions. We gotta go," Five sighed. "We have to find the others, right?"
"Yeah," Luther replied.
"Luther, you get Allison."
"Okay."
"Diego, Klaus," Five pointed to him next. "We'll get Vanya."
"Now, we meet back in the arrival alley in 77 minutes," Karina continued as Five threw his blazer back on. "Here. I've synchronized these watches." She handed each of the boys a watch.
"Okay, let's do this," Luther was determined.
Diego however, was skeptical. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on! You two show up drenched in blood and expect us to believe everything's gonna go back to normal if we go home now?"
"Elliott just got killed because of us," Karina pointed out defensively.
"What about Dad? What about JFK?" Diego strode over to them coolly.
"Diego, we have a chance to go home and make things right. We are taking it," Five retorted, looking up at him in irritation.
"I have to say goodbye to Lila," he announced.
"Lila doesn't give a shit about you, Diego!" Five burst out in exasperation and Karina grabbed his shoulder, giving him a soft but warning look. "She never did. She's one of them," he continued a bit calmer.
"She's a member of the Commission," Karina looked at Diego sympathetically. She felt bad for him, truly.
He immediately shook his head. "No way. Not possible."
"She was just using you to get to us. You're the Oswald of this story, my friend. The goddamned patsy," Five turned and walked off.
"You don't know what you're talk-"
Five suddenly blinked in front of him, glaring up at him. "If you don't do this, I'll kill you myself. Got it?" he threatened him.
Diego coldly eyed him. Karina mouthed an apology to him before Five blinked them out.
~ * ~
Five and Karina were on their way to find his sister, when suddenly they ironically drove by her. Her and Five exchanged a stare and parked on the sides of the dirt road to converse. The three hurriedly got out and met in the middle.
"What are you two doing here?" Vanya asked.
"Looking for you. We're going back to 2019," Karina replied.
"What are you talking about?"
"Look, we don't really have time to explain right now, but we found a way home. All right?" Five broke in, glancing at his watch. "We have 30 minutes to leave."
"What about my friends? I can't just leave them here," Vanya was taken back, stopping the two before they got back in their car.
"Vanya, you don't have a choice in this, all right? Doomsday will happen if you don't come with us."
"Okay, then I'm bringing them with me," she remarked.
Karina gave her a sad look.
"They belong in this timeline," Five heaved a breath.
"Says who? You get to take Karina everywhere!" Vanya shouted, making him look at her in slight shock and Karina winced from that. "Sissy deserves a life where she doesn't have to pretend to be someone she's not. And Harlan? There's a name for what he has. We can get him the help he needs. If you can bring a plus one with you to every timeline, why can't I bring mine?"
"Because Rina is from our timeline. Not from any other. Ours. She doesn't belong here," Five explained coolly.
"Vanya-" Karina began.
"Look, a mom and her eight-year-old son are not gonna screw up the timeline, Five!" Vanya cut her off hotly. "They're insignificant."
"No one is insignificant," Five walked towards her. "We're sorry, all right? But we can't take that risk. They have to stay. Come on."
He and Karina started to make their way towards the car.
"Why do you get to decide?" Vanya shot in their wake. "You're the reason we're stuck here in the first place."
Five whipped around to face her again. "If I did nothing, we would all be dead right now, thanks to you!"
"Five…" Karina scolded him warningly.
"They're coming with me," Vanya was determined.
He scoffed dangerously, going back over to her. "Vanya, do not test me right now."
"That's funny. 'Cause I was just about to say the same thing," Vanya threatened.
She began to glow as Five conjured up his own power. Karina swallowed hard, about to intervene but they both powered down.
"Fine," Vanya relented grudgingly.
"'Fine,' what?" Five questioned.
"I'll be there, but I need to say goodbye first."
"Oh, Vanya, we don't have the time," Five told her almost sadly.
"Well, it's either that or I'm not coming."
"It's okay. Meet us in the alley. Just don't be late," Karina jumped in before Five could argue.
He sighed and muttered as the three split ways.
"Really? "It's okay"? You know we're on an insane time crunch here, Rina," Five remarked as Karina drove them off.
"Five, we're taking her from her friends. The least we can do is let her say goodbye. Besides, if the roles were reversed, I know you'd be wanting to say goodbye to me for the last time before you left," she pointed out.
He immediately went quiet from that.
She was right. Of course she was right.
"I know," he softly spoke after a few moments.
"I'm sorry this is stressing you out," Karina sympathetically told him. "But I know Vanya understands. She'll do her best to be here. As will the others."
"We'll see, darling," Five sighed.
~ * ~
The couple made it back to the alley and Five grabbed the suitcase he stashed in the dumpster. Five checked his watch as Luther came racing out.
"Hey," he greeted. "Where is everyone?"
Five grinned proudly. "You're the first."
"What?"
"Yeah."
Klaus came flailing into the alley, though in all reality it was Ben possessing his body.
"Hey! Hey! We made it!" he was chuckling and grunted when Klaus tried to take control.
Five, Karina, and Luther looked at him nervously.
"What do you mean, "we"?" Karina echoed confusedly.
There were distorted grunts coming from them as Klaus groaned and gurgled. The three watched him in growing concern.
"Get out! Out!" Klaus demanded. His body gurgled and soon he threw up, kicking Ben out in the process.
The three wrinkled their noses in disgust as Klaus continued groaning, collapsing onto the pavement.
"I can't believe it. I mean, you're here," Luther commented.
Five looked at his watch anxiously. "We've got eight minutes left."
"I just had the strangest dream," Klaus whimpered.
"Where are the others?" Five nearly yelled.
"We've got a minute left!" Luther slammed his fist onto the dumpster.
"What's going on, guys? Are we going somewhere?" Klaus hoarsely asked as Karina knelt beside him to check him.
"It was a simple task. It was a simple task!" Five ranted, pacing angrily. "All we had to do was be here. Didn't have to fight a giant sea monster, no. An army of mutants? Nein!"
"I can't believe this," Luther shook his head.
"It was handed to us on a silver platter!" Five continued.
"Could you just moan a little softer? My head is killing me," Klaus complained, sitting up with Karina's help.
"Listen to me, you useless puke bag, we just blew our chance to save the world!" Five yelled at him.
The briefcase suddenly came to life with a charging noise.
"God damn it," Five scoffed.
"Shit," Luther muttered.
Five grabbed the briefcase and shouted as he chucked it into the air. Karina ducked as the briefcase got sucked off.
"We were that close. That close," she sighed.

2022 favs meme! Thanks to @take-in-time for tagging me!
I truly don't remember half the things I've done but let's see! I've changed the format because it's me and I ramble.
If you want an excuse to ramble about your fave media, I'm tagging you!
favorite books
I was really into Roopa Farooki's books this year. She's a Pakistani-British writer, and her books are about dysfunctional Pakistani families that are immigrants. I read:
-Everything is True, about her time as a doctor in the first 40 days of Covid
-The Way Things Look to Me, about three siblings whose parents have died, meaning the two older siblings need to support the youngest, and how they do (or don't) do that.
-The Good Children, about four siblings, two men and two women, who grew up with an abusive mum, and how that's impacted their lives as adults
Other shoutouts to:
-Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
-the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
-the Dr Greta Helsing trilogy by Vivian Shaw, Gods of Jade and Shadow, and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
-Waiting for Elijah by Kate Wild (this one was sad)
-The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrafer (loud screaming)
-the Something is Killing the Children Graphic Novels
-Interviews with Monster Girls manga
favorite movies
I never goddamn watch movies even though I should. So here are the ones I've watched that I enjoyed:
-The Bad Guys (the animated one with another wolf man to add to the tumblr's furry roster)
-The Batman (It was so long but yeah I really liked it!)
-Uhhhhhhhh
-Thor Love and Thunder (it was mindless, not as good as Ragnarok, but I had fun)
-Rehearsal for a Murder (I watched this one cos the local community theatre is going to produce it next year and I wanted to see if any parts suited me. Alas not. But it was a good film! Also young Jeff Goldblum lmao)
favorite songs:
-This was the year of Rina Sawayama for me, especially XS, Bad Friend, Hold the Girl, and Frankenstein
-Your Love (Deja Vu) by Glass Animals
-Go Your Own Way and the Chain by Fleetwood Mac (thanks OFMD)
-The Loneliest Time by Carly Rae Jepsen (the song not the album >.>)
-Peach by Broods
-Shake It by Loona
-Music for a Sushi Restaurant by Harry Styles (again the song not the album lmao)
Also shoutout to other Top 40 songs that kept me company on my drives for work because my car was made 2008 and has no USB ports/bluetooth: About Damn Time by Lizzo, Unholy by Sam Smith and Kim Petras, Faith by Georgia Lines, Cuff It by Beyonce, Bad Habit by Steve Lacy, Late Night Talking by Harry Styles and Stay with Me by Calvin Harris
favorite shows:
-Uhhh does dimension 20 count? Well it does now. It's all I've watched.
-Also EXU: Calamity
-Also drawfee. Big year for drawfee.
-The Watcher Boys!
-And I've also gotten back into watching Dodger's streams
-Actual Shows though?? Uhhhh I've watched Spy x Family and Mob Psycho 100 and those are good
-This is a statement I'm going to put out into the world: I WILL watch succession next year, instead of just going into the tag, and watching youtube compilations
I'm adding Favourite Games because this is all I think about:
-DISCO ELYSIUM a game I have never played because I'd just get anxious but love So Much
-Persona 5, a game I have only watched a playthrough of but may One Day Play when it is less than $100 on steam
-Death's Door -it's very cute and difficult but not too hard!
-Coral Island - It's only early access but Boy it's good
-Dead Cells
-The Great Ace Attorney a game I'd like to play but am currently just watching it being streamed by Rythian
-The Case of the Golden Idol - I watched Secret Sleepover Society play it and it's So Good. It's very Obra Dinn like and that's one of my favourite games
favorite memories:
-seeing lots of plays with the acting class! especially the First Prime Time Asian Sitcom which really just drilled a hole into my brain and was like 'hey all the issues around media representation for Asian people you think about so much? lets talk about it)
-hanging out with the Coffee Crew (when I had the spoons which is not often) and laughing til I cry
-i went to the museum for my birthday and brought my family along and it went super well! We thought it would be too much for my sister cos crowds but she loved it!
-I'm a fully registered speech therapist now! I love my work, and my colleagues, in this brutal capitalist hellscape I've got one of the best jobs and workplaces ever.
-Every time I go to see a child and their face lights up because they're so happy to see me. Best part of the job!!

i love how much u talk abt how toxic rinas are when you’re am known racist towards black rinas on twitter. you ship a 23 YEAR OLD MAN with a BARELY turned 18 year old who he’s known since she was 15,& ur constantly bashing rinas for simply shipping rina.
1. I’m not racist. I can’t be racist and be muslim at the same time since i get called terrorist just because of where i was born. My comment was fuck you because you were using your race as an excuse for your toxic behavior.
2. I ship them because i like them they give good vibes and deserve people as amazing as each other. And i’ve never seen them as the way i see them right now before. Them knowing each other since she was 15 doesn’t mean he had feelings for her.
3. I don’t bash rinas for shipping rina. I don’t mind people shipping rina i have a bunch of good rina friends that even they come to me and say how awful their fandom is and wish they could do something about it. I bash you all for being nasty hypocrite stalker bullies that you are and quit coming as an anon and come at me with your account if you have the balls.

[Billy Hargrove + "Snakeskin" by Rina Sawayama]
Tumblr media
Looking for forgiveness
I ran into your madness
Shutting off my brain just to spite my
Heart
-
I tear my soul into two so that you can
P-p-p-pretend despair
-
Rip rip, rip rip, rip rip
I'll tear you down like
Strip strip, strip strip, strip strip
So run before I
Bit bit, bit bit, bit bit
And make you all
Addicted, addicted
Addicted to my snakeskin
-
Like a snakeskin, like a snakeskin
Wear me out and tear me down like

Chapter 7 - Games
Gojo Satoru x Female Reader
Tags: Friends with Benefits, Teasing and a little bit of Fluff.
Summary: Trying to make sure the two of you stay out of the bedroom, you suggest playing a game of Twister and Gojo's mind starts to wander.
A/N: Sorry if there are mistakes! I don't have a beta and get tired rereading the chapters over and over again. This is a little short but we have some fluff and feels and we get a little insight on how Gojo has been feeling. I'm building up to something, I promise!
- - -
“Okay, left foot on green…”
With his right foot remaining on the red circle, Gojo spread his legs wide to place his left foot on the green circle towards the end of the mat. Things were easing up on his end when it came to work and he decided to take advantage of that by spending his free time with you tonight. What he didn’t expect was for the two of you to be in the middle of your living room playing board games instead of the usual physical activity that you both have grown accustomed to partaking in.
“Is this really how you want to spend our evening together?” he asked, taking the spinner from your hand as he proceeded to flick the arrow with his thumb and index finger.
You nodded your head, “We need to keep ourselves out of the bedroom. Otherwise, we will never leave...”
Gojo rotated his neck from side to side before replying, stretching to prepare himself for the awkward positions he was about to hold, “you’re making it sound like that’s a bad thing.”
“Listen, game night is going to make up for movie night which never happened because we wound up doing it on your couch instead...”
A smug grin spread across Gojo’s face, thinking of your failed plan to have a scary movie marathon with him. You were hoping to catch the sorcerer squirm but what you didn’t expect was him teasing you thirty minutes into the film that inevitably resulted in you being fucked senseless on his couch.
“You’re really going to put the blame on me for that? If you were paying attention you wouldn’t have succumbed to my advances so easily,” he retorted defensively.
“You had your hand up my skirt!”
“Now, I told you what that skirt does to me,” he jokingly snapped, pointing his finger at you sternly before shrugging his shoulders. “I couldn’t help myself…”
“Okay, well how about the night we were supposed to go out for dinner but missed our reservation because you decided to rip up my dress on the car ride over…”
“Let’s not get too dramatic, I merely broke the zipper and I did buy you another dress.”
“Okay, how about last night?”
Gojo parted his lips, pausing to think how the two of you wound up naked in the shower instead of going to the karaoke bar with Rina and her friends.
“Last night... wasn't my fault,” he pointed out, arching his brow at you as he recalled the way you teased him into submission.
“Oh, yeah. That’s right…” you shyly replied, biting your bottom lip as you scratched the back of your head. “So, uh, what’s my next move?”
“Quick to change the subject, I see?” Gojo answered with an easy smile, “Put your left hand on the blue circle…”
With your feet on the green and yellow circles, you leaned your body forward to put your left hand on the blue sphere. Meanwhile, Gojo dropped the spinner on the ground beside you, suppressing a laugh as he watched you struggle to spin the arrow and call out his next round.
“The point here is...” you grumbled as you tried to adjust yourself back into a comfortable position, “...the two of us are getting carried away. I just think this little break might do us some good.”
“I don’t think working up a sweat is a bad thing,” Gojo insisted.
“Well, we can burn calories after I kick your butt,” you added on, waiting for the arrow to land. “Right hand on green...”
“For someone trying to make sure we keep our distance, you sure picked an interesting game tonight,” Gojo teased, finding his new posture which brought his face close to yours.
“I know for a fact that you can’t cheat playing Twister,” you reminded, before glancing up at him from under your lashes and inching forward to peck him on the tip of his nose. “Besides, I never said I wanted space, I just thought I’d change things up for the evening.”
Gojo’s smiled into your lips as he gave you a soft kiss in return, “if you think you can distract me by being cute, you are absolutely wrong .”
“We both know how much of a sore loser you can be,” you answered back, “I just hope you’re ready to throw yourself a pity party by the end of this because I am definitely winning.”
“Mhmm, whatever you say. Right hand, blue…” he continued, trying to pay attention to the game and observing you reach your arm slightly underneath him to place your hand on the circle.
He couldn’t explain when things became this comfortable with you. If he had known that hooking up with you would bring you both closer together as friends, he wouldn’t have rejected your offer that easily.
You’ve both already broken one of your rules. However, Gojo didn’t mind forgoing the “drinking” rule to decide whether or not the two of you wanted to hook up. You both no longer needed the excuse anyway, after a while it became painfully clear that regardless of what the plans were, things always resulted in the two of you tangled up in someone’s bed sheets.
The sorcerer spent a majority of his spare time alone, unaware of how much it bothered him until you came along. He thought about the way you described yourself when you were in a relationship with your ex-boyfriend, and wondered if this felt similar in any way. Not that he considered you as anything other than a friend...but he was curious .
You both were different in many ways but often clashed when it came to your perspectives on love. You believed that there was a person out there for everbody, that there was nothing like falling in love with somebody who looked at you as if you were their whole world.
Granted, those were your opinions when you were in a happy and loving relationship but Gojo always disagreed with you because he was convinced that relationships were messy and only brought unnecessary drama to the table. That’s why he had his own personal rule that was standard practice when it came to his “love” life.
He never hooked up with somebody more than once.
Rumors about his womanising ways only stemmed from the fact that he did actually have plenty of lovers. However, he could barely recall their faces and didn’t even remember their names. Sometimes they recognized him on the street, and foolishly attempted to strike up a conversation with the handsome, rich stranger who paid for their company.
Gojo would politely brush them off every time. His stone cold reaction broke the hearts of those who were lucky enough to even be in his presence. He surely didn’t need to pay for the escorts or call girls but the act itself was easier and he had the money to spend anyway. These acquaintances never asked him any questions about his personal life, which benefited him greatly because it left very little room for anything other than small talk. Once both parties were satisfied, Gojo would leave every encounter without ever looking back. Sex was a routine way for him to blow off steam or merely take care of his natural urges. However, you didn’t know that you were the first person who he consistently kept as company in the bedroom.
Up until this moment, he had been suppressing his desire for you. Now that he has you, the sorcerer could tell he was getting greedy. He respected your wishes when you asked him not to see anyone else on the side but surprised himself when he realised that he had no interest in seeking out the strangers that used to keep him company at night.
Even though you both insisted that this new partnership had no influence on friendship, Gojo was observant enough to see that it was not the case. Little things were starting to change here and there, and he was carefully making note of it every time it happened.
For example, whenever he was off fighting curses, you started habitually checking up on him to make sure he was okay. One night when he was unable to answer his phone, he received a string of unusual text messages from you to find out what happened. He remembered calling you right after, teasing you to ask if you were worried about him. You surprised him with your fear, how you easily believed that something was powerful enough to harm him despite him repeatedly telling you that nothing could touch him. When you responded to his question with a sincere yes, an unexpected sensation spread across his chest. If he wasn’t paying attention to how much you cared about him before, he was more aware of it now.
To ease your worries, he made it a point to shoot you a text whenever he could just to let you know that he was alright. Although, he did sometimes forget which resulted in you panicking on the phone with him. Only this time, Gojo never made fun of your concerns.
In turn, he realised how fiercely protective he became of you and it killed him whenever he had to deflect your questions when you asked about his life. There was so much you wanted to know and so much that he wished he could tell you. However, he had every intention of maintaining this invisible boundary. The last thing he wants is for you to get caught up in something that you couldn’t understand. If he were to invite you into his whole world, that would only lead to you facing dangerous threats that loved to lurk in the shadows.
He would never forgive himself if something were to happen to you.
A few more rounds passed, and the two of you were intertwined in the most precarious situation. You were in a reverse tabletop position, looking like a crab with two hands and feet on the blue and yellow circles. Meanwhile, Gojo was in a plank position above you, his palms pressed on the red and green circle by your side, with one foot next to yours on a blue circle and another on a yellow circle.
You were shaking underneath him, desperately trying to maintain your awkward stance while Gojo appeared bored holding his own position with ease.
“Okay, I didn’t take your strength or height into consideration…” you groaned with a pout.
A chuckle escaped his lips, “give up, yet?”
“No…” you groaned, eyeing the spinner by your side as you reached for it with your right hand. You lifted your head slightly, your neck straining as you tried to call out the next move. “Left foot, green…”
Gojo picked up his leg but as he stretched himself out he realised that he couldn’t bend himself properly in that particular way.
Your eyes widened, watching him shake as he tried to rotate his body without lifting himself completely up off the mat.
“Or maybe your height is actually a disadvantage?” you questioned, ignoring the way your arms burned from holding yourself up as your heart raced with anticipation.
“Shhh, I’m concentrating...”
Gojo kicked his leg out one way and then the other, the comical image of his tall body in motion only made you laugh at his reaction. He tried his best to ignore the sound of your voice but knew that he could barely maintain his balance as he tried to find the green circle. However, he miscalculated the gravity of his own weight when he shifted to the left side of his body, his elbow buckling underneath and causing him to collapse.
“Yes!” you exclaimed, raising your arms up in victory, paying no attention to his body pressed on top of yours.
His face was buried in the crook of your neck, breathing in deep to inhale the scent of your soap. He felt your hand pat the back of his head lightly, indicating that you wanted him to get off from on top of you. He slowly unraveled himself, irritated by his own misfortune as he rolled onto his back to lay down beside you. He tilted his head to look at you, noticing you turn so you both were making direct eye contact with each other.
Gojo always knew you were beautiful. Nothing in this world could convince him otherwise but he never paid attention to the details of how pretty you actually were. Little things about you that made the gears in his head turn, from the gorgeous mane that sprouted on the top of your head, to the way your eyes sparkled whenever you were excited or how the curve of your lips was your secret tell to let him know exactly what you were feeling when you couldn’t find the words to explain yourself.
Why me? He thought to himself, if you wanted to fuck around with somebody then why did you ask me?
A kiss on his lips snapped him out of his drawn out thoughts, he felt the pads of your fingers along his cheek, slipping lightly underneath his blindfold to reveal just one of those blue eyes.
“Ready for another round?” you questioned.
Gojo softly smiled, thankful that you haven’t grown bored of him just yet. He lifted himself up, bringing one of his hands to cup your face as he pulled you in for another kiss. His tongue parted your lips and he allowed himself this one indulgence as he trailed his hand to the back of your neck.
Whatever thoughts that were running through his mind, he chose to ignore. There was no reason for him to consider such trivial things anyway. You were spoiling him with your body, playing out the fantasies that plagued his mind. He was aware that his greed fueled his lust for you and honestly did not know what he would do if you were to ask him to stop.
He deepened the kiss, allowing the frustrating thought to play out in passion instead. You shifted your position, your hand falling to his chest as you gripped onto the collar of his tee. Still holding onto the kiss, Gojo lifted himself upright so he was seated and as much as he would love to take advantage of this current situation, he chose to pull himself away instead.
“Best of three?”
“That sounds good to me!” you replied as you circled your arm around his neck, before returning to kiss him again.
Gojo gave in for only a second, before cheekily breaking away and tapping you gently on the forehead with his index finger.
“Oh no, you aren’t doing this to me again...” he said, his hands moving to your waistline as he gently pushed you away from him. “You wanted to have a game night and we are going to see it through.”
He leaned across from you to pick up the spinner, before settling back down and holding it in between the tiny space that separated you both.
“Winner goes first.”

jeongin's graduation - a weird imagine i had in mind
you were chan's girlfriend, and had a good relation with the rest of the members, specially with jeongin. when chan revealed your relationship to the boys, he was the happiest for the both of you.
the thing is, you weren't always in seoul. you went back and forth from (your country) to seoul, and even though chan told you that he could easily find you a job in the company, you always refused.
jeongin really wanted you to be at his graduation, with the rest of the members too, but even though he had asked you, you told him it was impossible for you to go.
that was a whole ass lie.
chan and you had been talking about the possibility of you moving there. again. he had talked to the company, and since you studied to be a makeup artist, they were more than okay to hire you. you accepted, because he went through all that hassle just for you to be there. of course, none of the boys knew about this.
"jeongin will be so happy to see you there, he's been really sad about it, you don't even know" chan said "did you also get that gift?"
"yes i did! he's been talking about this nonstop, i don't really know why... but yeah, i got him that necklace he wanted. i didn't know he was a necklace type of guy"
(the necklace i had in mind)
Tumblr media
"since the fans are always saying he looks like a fox, he started loving them a lot. he will love this necklace, he doesn't expect it at all"
time skip - graduation day
jeongin's graduation was over, and now stray kids were heading to a restaurant where jeongin would invite all of them for a nice lunch.
chan, suddenly, got up from the chair.
"where are you going?" minho asked
"outside, i have to pick up a call, sorry, i'll be back right now"
the members nodded, looking weirdly at each other because that wasn't like their leader at all, but shrugged their shoulders and kept waiting for the food.
chan went outside and waited for you at the front door. he smiled when he saw you.
"you look absolutely stunning, babe"
you blushed "that ain't true but i'm gonna believe you" he playfully hit you in your shoulder.
"let's go in?"
the members heard footsteps and thought it was their leader (well, they weren't wrong).
"oi, chris hyung, what was the call? is everything oka-" jisung words didn't finish when he saw you entering with chan.
"y/n-ssi!!" they all screamed, happy to see you after months.
jeongin was so happy to see you there. so much, that even if he's not someone that hugs a lot, he got up so quick from his chair and hugged you really tight.
"noona! you came!!" he said, still hugging you.
"of course my baby, how could i miss such a day, huh?" you hugged him back "congrats on your graduation, jeonginnie, this is for you"
you gave him a box, in which it was the necklace. when he opened it and saw it, he smiled a lot "thank you noona! i love this a lot! can you put it on for me?"
you did as he asked "it looks lovely on you"
"are you staying?" felix asked.
"of course she is" jeongin said without letting you answer "she's definitely not leaving, we've missed her a lot, all of us, so she's staying"
the members looked at you "it looks like i'm staying" you all laughed.
you ate a lot, talked a lot with the boys.
"noona, can i ask you a question?" jisung said "you don't have to answer if you don't want to" you nodded your head "how did chan hyung ask you out?"
their eyes were on you and chan "well... he-" reality hit you, and you looked at chan "you actually never asked me out"
"i did!"
"no, you didn't. we went to the cinema to watch a movie, you dropped me at the apartment i was staying at and you kissed me in the front door"
chan kept quiet "oh did i..." you nodded, the boys were amused with your conversation.
"i mean, since that day i have considered us official, and we always do couple things, and if anyone asks me if i have a boyfriend, i always say yes, but you didn't ask me anything"
"hyungggg, how could you be so careless?" changbin said, making all of them laugh.
"well" seungmin started "if it helps, chan hyung since that day always talked about you as his girlfriend"
"because she is" chan said, embarrassed because he never asked you out
they kept the conversation going, while you kept silent. jeongin touched your shoulder, and you looked at him "what's up innie?"
"thank you for coming today, noona. i know that you will leave and we won't see each other for months but today was great because you were here too"
you felt like crying, the kid was so cute "i think it's time for us to tell them, chan" he nodded
"tell us what?" "what are they talking about?" the room was filled with those questions.
"chan managed to get me a job in your company. from now on, i will be your make up artist too, meaning we will see each other more often. chan and i had been talking about me moving here for a while, and now that it's official that i'm coming, we can tell you"
they started clapping and all of them hugged you. truth is, those boys loved you as much as you loved them, and chan was absolutely happy and his heart full of love of seeing the love of his life and his family get along so well.
"that means you can finally meet my cats one day, there are no excuses" minho said, making all of you laugh
---
i don't even know what this is, i kind of dreamt with it. i am happy with how it turned out tho, i think it's cute

WARNING: it’s sad, my sister couldn’t stop crying. perhaps i teared up too. // mentions of death.
“I don’t know if it’s too soon or just the right time, but I met this girl. It was pretty much out of nowhere, but I don’t know. It feels weird to say, especially to you,” Namjoon laughs. “But I feel like it was meant to be. There were so many coincidences, like how I always see her unexpectedly. Like it was fate somehow.” Namjoon twirls the ring between his fingers, looking up at the framed photo he took out of his dresser drawer. “Our daughter really likes her. It makes me really happy. I’m sure she would’ve been the same with you. Her name is Yn. We’ve been going on dates, we’re not official or anything, but I was thinking of making it official today. I’m not quite sure yet. I haven’t talked to the boys about it or anything, I figured it would be best if I talked it out with you first and got your permission. What do you think?”

Park Residence
“I got the confetti cannon poppers thing,” Namjoon says, holding two plastic bags. “I think it was a mistake to have me get them because I didn’t know whether to get blue or pink…”
Yuna puts a hand over her mouth. “Oh my gosh, I totally forgot!! Did you get both??” Namjoon nods, walking over to her.
“This one’s pink,” he says, lifting up the bag on his left hand. “And this one’s blue,” he says, lifting up the other.
“Here, give them to me, I know which ones we need,” Sohyun says, taking the two bags from Namjoon.
“Do you guys need anymore help?” Namjoon asks, looking over to the boys who were blowing up balloons.
“I think we’re good hyung,” Jungkook says, hitting a balloon into the air when he finished tying it.
“Yeah, I think we’re done. We blew enough right?” Jimin asks, getting up from the floor and kicking all the pink and blue balloons they blew and tied.
“Yes, those are good, you know how to make the balloon arches right?” Yuna says. Jimin looks over at Jungkook and Jungkook looks over at Taehyung.
“What? I’m on baby duty, go youtube it,” Taehyung says, dodging their silent plead for help.
“I know how to do it,” you say. “But one of you have to switch with me and help Rina with the decorations.”
“I’ll do it,” Jungkook says, getting up quickly. Jimin sighs, clearly tired of the balloons.
“Namjoon, you can help Sohyun set out all the sweets she brought,” Yoongi called out from the kitchen. Yoongi, Jin, Hoseok, Mae, and Sarang were all busy in the kitchen, helping each other make dishes for the party.
ding dong!
“Oh-- Babe, is that mom and dad?” Jimin says out loud. Everyone turns to the door.
“I totally forgot it wasn’t going to be just as this time,” Taehyung says nonchalantly as he was getting climbed on like a human mountain.
Yuna rushed to the door, opening it to let the guests in.
“Mom! Dad!” Yuna yelled, quickly giving her parents a hug when they entered. Jimin excuses himself from you and went over to greet his parent in laws.
“Are you guys’ parents coming today too?” Jungkook asks everyone. “My mom and dad said they’ll be here. They’re excited to see everyone.”
“Mm, yeah, my parents said they’ll try to make it,” Namjoon says. He turns towards you and says in a quiet voice, “maybe I can introduce you to them.” You give him a soft smile and a nod. But the thought of meeting his parents made you nervous.
❆❆❆❆❆
“Where’s Moonji?” Namjoon asks you when you walked into Jimin and Yuna’s kitchen.
“Uhm.. I’m not sure. I think she’s playing with the little girls.” You answer, reaching over him to grab a cookie. With the gender reveal cake, Sohyun also made pink and blue sugar cookies and cupcakes.
“Okay, well she needs to eat,” Namjoon says, excusing himself and going to look for his daughter. You bite down on the cookie Sohyun made, watching Namjoon walk away. As you were finally alone, you think to yourself. You couldn’t believe that you were a part of such a wonderful group of friends. You all just met not too long ago and now you were apart of their family, and you actually felt like family. You were excited to find out the gender of Yuna and Jimin’s baby, being at such a personal event like this made you feel so special.
You giggle as you watched Namjoon walk into the kitchen, carrying a grumpy little Moonji.
“I guess someone would rather play?” You say to Namjoon, making him laugh.
“Yeah, she didn’t want to come, but she has to eat, right baby?” Moonji pouts as her dad had her sit on the counter. He had a bowl of food right next to her, one that he had out before he left to get Moonji.
“Ah,” He says to her, placing the spoon near her mouth. Moonji kept her mouth closed and in a pout, not wanting to eat as she wanted to be with her cousins right now, playing.
“If you finish all this food, you can go play. Come on, the faster you finish, the faster you’ll be able to play with your unnies.” With this, Moonji quickly opened her mouth, reaching for the spoon so she can feed herself. You couldn’t help but laugh as the little girl attempted to down all her food in one go.
“Hey hey hey, slow down a bit. You might choke,” and as if on cue, she started to cough. She was eating the food way too fast. You quickly turn around to grab a small bottle of water.
“Here you go baby,” you say, helping her drink the water. Namjoon watched you as you help his daughter. Moonji kept her eye on you too. When she pulled away from the bottle, you closed it with the cap and put it down next to her. Moonji smiled at you and said thank you before shoving another spoonful of rice in her mouth. You laugh, nodding at her before turning to Namjoon, whose gaze you felt.
“Hmm?” You say, catching him off guard.
“Huh?” He says.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” You laugh. Namjoon’s cheeks turns into a light shade of red.
“Looked at you like what?” He says. Before you could say anything, Yuna popped her head into the kitchen.
“Hey we’re going to cut the cake in the family room.”
“Oh look, guess we gotta go,” Namjoon says, quickly picking up Moonji and walking out of the kitchen, leaving you alone.
“He-hey!”
❆❆❆❆❆
“Are you ready everyone?” Jimin asks. He stood next to Yuna, an arm around her while they both held onto the knife to cut the cake.
“Wait!” Rina yells. “Do you guys want it to be blue or pink?”
“Pink! Pink! Pink!” Soojin yells.
“Noo, I want it to be blue!” Sian pouts, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Yah, just cut it already!” Taehyung yells.
“Ooh, I’m so excited,” Jimin’s mom says, proudly watching her son cut a cake.
Meanwhile, Jungkook quickly gets himself to the front of the crowd, aka the little kids, holding his camera in place, ready to catch the moment.
“Okay, count us down,” Jimin says.
“3!” You all yelled.
“2!”
“1!” Yuna and Jimin sliced down and everyone went “OOOOHH.”
“What color is it hyung?” Jungkook asks, not being able to see from the first slice. Sohyun was on the side, covering her mouth because she was the only one who knew the gender.
Yuna and Jimin placed their second cut and Jimin grabs another knife and placed it underneath to pick up the cake. Once the inside was visible, everyone pulled their confetti cannons, streamers and confetti flew everywhere. All you could see was an ocean of blue.
“IT’S A BOY!” Everyone cheered and laughed, walking over to hug the couple. While everyone seemed to be happy about finally knowing the gender of baby mochi, one specific person wasn’t too pleased.
“Aigoo~” Jimin says, half laughing. He walks over to little Soojin who was crying that the color wasn’t pink. “It’s okay, don’t cry.” He turns around and sees Jin walking over to him. Jin carefully takes his little girl in his arms.
“Shhh, Soojin-ah, don’t cry. You’ll have more cousins in the future I’m sure one of them will be a girl,” Jin says, trying to reassure his daughter.
“Yuna!” You say, running over to her to give her a big hug. “I know we’ve just met but I’m so happy that I already get to celebrate this special moment with you,” you say. You can hear her sniffling a bit and she pulls away from you, but still holding onto your arms.
“Your making me cry,” she whines. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“Yuna, congratulations,” Namjoon interrupts, giving her a hug as well.
“Jimin!” You called, you slid past Yuna and Namjoon to give him a hug. “I bet you’re super happy,” you tell him.
“I am,” he says, he’s smiling so big you weren’t able to see his eyes anymore. “I can’t wait to have a mini me,” he says and you physically uwu’d at his comment because the thought of Jimin in baby form sounds like the cutest thing ever.
❆❆❆❆❆
After finding out the gender, everyone started munching on the blue cake Sohyun made. The kid’s lips and teeth were all blue from the blue frosting on the cake. Everyone was catching up with one another since their parents came to visit. While everyone was socializing with each other or their parents, you and Namjoon were in your own little world on the couch, having your own conversation.
“So when you were expecting Moonji, and you found out she was a girl, how did you and your girlfriend feel?” You ask. Namjoon never talked about Moonji’s mom, you assumed they broke up or something when she was younger.
Namjoon laughs slightly at your response. “Wife,” he says.
“Hmm?”
“She was my wife.” He clarifies. Your eyes enlarges and your mouth drops a bit. You weren’t expecting that.
“Oh.. you were married.” You hesitate on whether to ask or not on what happened, Namjoon could sense your hesitation.
“You can ask about it if you want, it’s okay,” he says, looking at you with full confidence and a smile. You nod, still a little hesitant to enter such a sensitive topic.
“Your wife… were you two happy to expect a girl?” You ask slowly. Namjoon nods at you.
“I didn’t really mind. Having a baby with the person I loved the most was already beyond the greatest thing I could get. But my wife was very happy. She’s always wanted a little girl.” You smile at him but it faded away with your next question.
“If she always wanted one… and I’m sorry if this sounds offensive, I’m not trying to--”
“It’s okay,” he reassures.
“But… if she’s always wanted a daughter… where is she now?” You felt so rude for asking, but you were curious. And Namjoon was assuring you that it was okay to ask.
“I lost her the day Moonji was born,” Namjoon says.
flashback
“You’re doing great honey. We’re almost there, just hold on a little longer,” Namjoon says, assuring his wife. A peaceful day at home had turned into a state of panic when Eunji’s, Namjoon’s wife, water broke earlier than expected.
“Hngg, Taehyung-ah, drive faster, please!” Eunji groaned, squeezing Namjoon’s hand with all her might as a contraction waves over her.
“I’m going at the fastest and safest speed I can go noona, we’re almost there,” Taehyung calls out calmly. Although if you listen a little closer, you can tell the slight panic in his voice.
When the trio got to their destination, Taehyung ran as fast as he could out of the car and into the entrance of the hospital, yelling for someone to help. To others, this may seem normal for a first child pregnancy, but for some reason, Namjoon had a weird feeling that made him feel nauseous.
Namjoon leans in to kiss his wife’s forehead as it dripped with sweat and her breathing became labored.
“You’re doing great sweetie, just endure the pain a little longer. You can do this, we’ll see our little girl soon,” he says to her, causing her to smile. Namjoon leans in to quickly kiss her on the lips, right before Taehyung appeared at the open door of the backseat of the car with a nurse standing by his side, holding a wheelchair.
“Let’s get mommy to be on here so we can take her in,” the nurse says calmly. Namjoon hops out of the car through the other door, rushing through the other side to help carry Eunji onto the wheelchair. The nurse quickly went off and pushed the wheelchair into the hospital, having Namjoon and Taehyung walk quickly behind her.
“Are you excited hyung?” Taehyung asks, nudging Namjoons arm. Namjoon lets out a sigh, but he nods. “What’s wrong?” Taehyung says, noticing Namjoon’s worried expression.
“I just don’t like seeing her in so much pain,” Namjoon says, flinching as he hears Eunji groan once again from another contraction.
“You’re doing great Mrs. Kim,” the nurse says, assuring Eunji.
“She’s okay hyung, you’ll get to see your daughter soon and it’ll be all worth it,” Taehyung smiles, giving Namjoon a side hug.
~
“I have to be in there--”
“I’m sorry Mr. Kim, but we can’t allow you inside--”
“I have to be there for her! She can’t do this alone!”
“I know you want to be there for her Mr. Kim, but we’ll take care of her and we can assure you that everything will be fine.”
“But-” Namjoon sighs, knowing that as much as he tries to convince the nurse to let him in, that she won’t budge. “Can- can I at least see her. Just one last time before she has our baby?”
The nurse sighs, peeking through the door and slowly opening it to let Namjoon in.
“Joonie!” Eunji calls out, Namjoon doesn’t hesitate to rush into the room, kneeling down right beside Eunji’s bed.
“H-hey sweetheart,” Namjoon says quietly, the tears threatening to spill out of his eyes. “You’re doing great, I can’t be here for too long but just know I’m going to be right out that door. I’ll be waiting for you and our baby girl. She’ll be as beautiful and as perfect as you, I just know it.” Eunji laughs and as she does, tears roll down her pink cheeks.
“I can’t wait to see our little Moonji,” she says, saying the name the two of them had picked out months ago when they found out they were having a girl. Namjoon couldn’t help but let out a smiley laugh. He caress her cheeks slowly.
“You’ll do so well, I know you will,” he says, leaning in to kiss her on the lips. He pulls away and rests his forehead on hers. “I love you so much, and I can’t wait to love our daughter just the same.”
~
Namjoon and Taehyung waited in silence in the waiting room. The first ten minutes of pushing, Namjoon couldn’t bear hearing the screams of pain Eunji let out as she pushed for their daughter. Taehyung decided it would be best if the two of them waited in the waiting room instead, away from the painful screams.
Just about thirty minutes had gone by when Taehyung finally spoke up.
“How do you feel hyung?” Namjoon looks up from his hand and turns to his best friend. He lets out a small laugh, shaking his head slightly.
“I’m going to be a dad soon, it’s crazy,” he says, whispering the last part. Taehyung gives him a slap on the back.
“Heck yeah you are! I can’t wait, I’m so excited for you hyung. The day when my nieces and nephews are born are always my favorite.”
“I know, you’re always the first one there. I can’t wait until it’s finally our turn for when it’s you and your wife having a baby.”
“Waah~~ That would be such a crazy day.” The two men exchange smiles and laughter, the worry they once had were overcome by thoughts of the future where all things are well. “All the boys are texting in the group chat. They’re asking how much longer it’ll be when Moonji arrives. What should I tell them?” Right that second, nurses were rushing from one door of the waiting room to the other. There must’ve been something that happened because they were calling for someone, something about an emergency. It was hard to hear what they were saying. They were rushing everywhere, trying to get a hold of some other doctor. Namjoon and Taehyung’s conversations were put on hold, distracted by the amount of nurses and doctors rushing around. All they could hear were the words ‘blood,’ ‘too much,’ ‘risk,’ and ‘baby.’ Namjoon swallows thickly, his heartbeat start to beat faster, hoping, even though it hurts himself to even think this way, but hoping so much that it was someone else. Taehyung’s head quickly turns to Namjoon, sensing how scared he is at that moment. But Taehyung quietly hoped to himself that it was some other person too, that it was impossible for it to be someone he knew.
Thirty minutes later, the doctor entered the room.
“Are one of you Mr. Kim? Kim- Kim Namjoon to be exact?” He says, flipping through a clipboard. Namjoon quickly stands up, losing his balance, Taehyung stands up to help him.
“Can I have a word with you? In private?” The doctor says. Namjoon shakes his head no.
“No sir, what you have to tell me, you can tell Taehyung too.”
“Hyung,” Taehyung whispers, holding onto his arm. “It’s fine, you can go.” Namjoon refused, turning to him.
“I’m afraid of what he’s going to say, I need you here with me. Please.” Taehyung nods quietly.
“Well, alright,” the doctor speaks up. “Your wife, Bae Eunji, has delivered a little girl. She came out earlier than expected. I heard your due date isn’t until two weeks from tomorrow.” Namjoon nods, it was a surprise to him when Eunji’s water broke this morning, knowing that it was too early. “Well we’re keeping a close watch on her right now, making sure that she’ll be okay.” The doctor began to talk slowly now. Namjoon swallows, bringing his hand up to hold onto Taehyung’s hand. He gives Namjoon’s hand a soft squeeze. The doctor brings down his clipboard, taking off his glasses and letting out a sigh. “This isn’t the easiest thing to say, and we all are deeply sorry, but your wife..” Namjoon’s eyebrows scrunches up and he bites down on his lip. “I’m sorry sir, but your wife lost a lot of blood during the delivery. We did the best we could but she wasn’t able to make it.”
Those last six words.
It broke Namjoon completely. He wasn’t able to hold it in anymore. This was the bad feeling he had the minute they got to the hospital. He tried to push that feeling to the side, trying to stay optimistic for his daughter's arrival. But he just knew something was going to happen.
Namjoon face twists into pain and his hand raises to where his heart is, scrunching the material of his shirt into his large hand as he fell on his knees onto the ground. His heart ached so much that he could feel his entire chest hurting as tears rolled down his face.
“Hyung,” Taehyung let out, dropping to the ground as his own tears rolled down his face. He pulled Namjoon into his arms and the two of them cried on the waiting room floor.
~
Namjoon had a hard time getting up from the floor, his heart broke into a million pieces on the day where it was supposed to be the happiest moment of his life. It’s been an hour or two. He had his head buried in his hands. His whole body heaving as he cried. Taehyung’s had his arms around Namjoon’s back, his cheeks pressed against his shoulder as he stared into space. His cheeks was sticky from his tears. He didn’t know what to do, how he could help. Eunji is his family as well, and as much as it hurt him to think she was gone just like that, he doesn’t know how Namjoon will ever be okay.
“Hyung,” Taehyung lets out quietly. Namjoon sniffs as he tries to stop himself from crying, but it was impossible. “Hyung,” Taehyung says again. He continue to feel Namjoon’s body tremble. He knew his hyung wasn’t going to be able to speak for a while.
“Mr. Kim,” a voice says above the two men. Taehyung looks up first, as Namjoon was unable to. It was a nurse, the same one from earlier. She looks down at Taehyung with a sad smile.
“He can’t talk right now,” Taehyung tells her.
“Well we would just like to let you know that your daughter is doing well. Whenever you’re ready, I can take you to go see her.” Namjoon raises his head slowly, his face red, eyes swollen, and cheeks covered with dry and wet tears.
“Are you ready to see her hyung?” Taehyung asks. Namjoon nods, wiping his face with his hand. Taehyung stands up first, helping Namjoon up next as his whole body was still weak.
“She’s okay hyung, Moonji is okay and you’ll be able to finally hold her.” Taehyung says, putting up a smile for his older brother.
~
The nurse handed Namjoon a small baby. She was swaddled in a blue and pink striped, white blanket. She had a little hat on and her cheeks were round and pink. Right when Namjoon laid his eyes on her, he couldn’t help but smile. But his face quickly contorted once again, but this time he cried with tears of joy. Taehyung quickly snapped a picture of the new father and his daughter, he sends the picture to their group chat.
“Hi sweetheart,” Namjoon cooes. “I’m your daddy,” he says in a raspy voice. “Me and your mommy were so excited for you to come out. It seemed like you were a little too excited too that you came out earlier.” Taehyung laughs slightly, walking away and out of the room to give the two some needed alone time. “I’m sorry your mommy couldn’t be here. I’m sure you’d much rather be in her arms than mines right now. But it’s just going to be the two of us for now. Although you have a lot of aunts and uncles that will help take care of you. You have a lot of cousins that already love you too. I’m sure they’re excited to meet you.” Namjoon leans in to kiss her little head and she squirms a bit at her father’s touch.
“I don’t really know how to do this. Your mommy and I planned to do this whole thing together. I know it’s not her fault that I’m doing this alone now,” Namjoon couldn’t help it, but he starts to cry again. “I didn’t expect her to be gone so soon. Especially now that our family life had just started now that you’re here. She loves you though. I know that for sure. She loved you the very first time she found out she was pregnant with you. She would’ve never left you if she had the choice. But that’s none of our fault. We don’t have control of what happens in this world, but we do have control of how we deal with all the negative things that happen in our lives. I’m heartbroken to think that your mom isn’t going to be with us anymore. But we’re not alone in this. We have each other, right? You’ll always have me and I promise you that. I love you Moonji. Things are going to be okay.”

RINA HI ILYSM YOURE DOING GREAT may i please get a berkut x f!reader i’m a huge simp as you know and i’d die for this man please drink some water and don’t overwork yourself🥺
HI!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! ILY2!!!! 💖
I hope this turned out okay! I've never written for Berkut, before!
Engagement (Berkut x Reader)
"E-excuse me, sir...?" I softly spoke, as I knocked on Berkut's door. The two of us were only children at the time, and I knew that there would be severe punishments if his mother caught me, since I was merely a maid in training, but I didn't care. I had heard him crying, and I needed to check on him.
I was about to give up and leave, when the door eventually opened, revealing Berkut. His face was red, and it was obvious he had been crying, despite the fact that he had clearly attempted to wipe away all of his tears.
"What is it, (y/n)...?" He asked, failing to hide the way his voice wavered. I bit my lip, looking him in the eyes.
"I heard you crying... What happened...?" I softly asked, noticing Berkut tense up.
"I don't know what you are talking about. I'm fine." He lied, looking as though he was about to start crying again at any moment. "Now, if you'll excuse me-"
"Wait!" I interrupted, biting my lip. "I know you're not okay... Do you wanna talk about it...?" I quietly offered, though I was sure he would tell me to just leave.
"...Alright." He eventually spoke, surprising me. He looked to each side, before motioning for me to enter. I quickly did so, and Berkut closed the door behind us. We sat down, and he explained everything, telling me about how he had been put on a horse, how terrifying it was for him, and how he was scolded for being so afraid.
Before I knew it, I was hugging the boy in front of me. He seemed quite surprised, though I was even more surprised when he hugged back. We just stayed like that for a while, Berkut's soft crying being the only sound in the room. Eventually, he fell asleep, still in my arms. I had no idea what to do, so I just stayed there, until his mother found us and made me leave his room, scolding me quite harshly.
Over the years, I continued to comfort Berkut in secret on occasion, though he was quickly becoming more and more confident. Not only that, but I had developed strong feelings for him over the years. In fact, I had been considering confessing to him. That is, until he met her.
Berkut fell in love with Rinea almost instantly, it seemed, and it was no time at all before the two were engaged. It hurt quite a bit to see him so in love with another woman, but at the same time, he seemed much happier around her than anyone else.
"Congratulations on your engagement, sir." I spoke, curtsying a bit, as I gave Berkut and Rinea the best smile I could manage. The two smiled at me, clearly in love.
"Thank you, (y/n). We are very happy to be together." Berkut spoke. Despite his mostly changed personality, he was still much kinder to me than most.
Everything seemed perfect between the two, and I couldn't help but be extremely jealous of the two, though I did my best to hide it. I had to admit, though, it was nice to see Berkut so happy. However, one day, everything suddenly changed.
I hadn't seen Berkut or Rinea all day, and I was honestly beginning to get a bit worried. Hesitantly, I made my way to Berkut's room, where I was shocked to hear him crying through the door. My eyes widened, and I quickly knocked.
"Sir? It's (y/n)... May I come in?" I asked, hoping that Rinea wasn't there with him, as that could look bad. The door was opened in no time at all, revealing Berkut, who's face was a combination of angry and terribly upset. Tears were still streaming down his cheeks, as he began to speak.
"What do you want...?" He questioned, his voice cold but laced with sadness.
"I'm worried about you... What happened...?" I whispered. Berkut looked away.
"That isn't any of your business..." He stated. I gently reached for his hand, not surprised when he jerked it away.
"I understand, but I'd like to know... Perhaps I can help in some way..." Berkut was silent for a moment, before finally speaking.
"She left... Rinea left..." He whispered, biting his lip quite hard. My eyes widened, and I looked down at the ground.
"Oh, sir, I... I'm so sorry... That's awful..." I whispered, suddenly quite angry with Rinea. How could she just leave him like that? However, before I could ask, Berkut soon continued to speak.
"Do not be angry with her... It's my own fault..." He mumbled, causing me to look back up.
"What do you-"
"Just... Come here... Please..." Berkut's soft, broken voice broke my heart, and I immediately hugged the man, quite tightly. "Rinea left me... Because she realized something that I didn't even realize..." He mumbled, his arms tightly wrapping around me. "She realized that I... That I..." He paused, unable to continue.
"Berkut, sir... If you'd rather not say it, then you don't have to..." I whispered, trying to calm the man. It was so strange seeing him like this, as it had been years since I had seen him so upset. I let go of the hug and took his hand, leading him to sit down on his bed. I then wrapped my arms around him, once more. "But if you do wish to talk about it, I'm here... And I always will be..." Berkut quickly returned the hug, seeming to finally be starting to calm down.
"Rinea... She realized... That I am hopelessly in love with one of my maids..." Berkut suddenly whispered. "And that my maid loves me, as well..." My eyes widened, but I had no time to respond, as Berkut had once again fallen asleep in my arms.
Once his words had sunk in, a very small smile formed on my lips. I felt guilty, but at the same time, happy. I placed a gentle kiss on his forehead, sighing a bit. "Yes... That maid loves you, too... Very much..."

*slaps cheeks*
Okay. Let’s talk.
A few unpopular opinions here and a few opinions some of you may just agree with. Sorry if I miss something, I’m in a lot of pain today.
First. Alex playing the piano? I cried. Okay, moving on.
This episode was amazing, in my opinion, save for a few short moments. I’m sure it won’t be hard to guess what those moments were. Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I’m so, so happy with the way Alex handled the talk with Maria. When she sat in his lap, I thought it was very cute, and I cannot begin to express with words how happy I am that he laughed and seemed so at ease.
HOLD ON BEFORE YOU START SCREAMING AT THE SCREEN! I’m not done. I don’t want Alex to be bitter and petty and wallow in the misery of all of that. I should know how much it sucks, I’ve been in it for about a year now, ever since 1x10. I don’t want Alex to do that, I don’t want him spending the episodes in moments of self-pity or bitterness, I want better for him than that. You can’t have Alex x Happiness if Alex is so unhappy.
That said, that entire scene was -- among a few other things -- an attempt to excuse Maria and for Alex to give them his blessings, which we all knew was going to happen. I know it doesn’t make it any easier to swallow for some, but it does for me. I’m still pissed off, I still won’t be able to stand the sight of Maria until this whole thing with M*luca is over, and I hate that C*rina thinks she can pull this over on us. The scene was basically just Maria going: but you said this about Michael, but you said that about Michael -- all so that no one could go to the showrunner and tell her that Alex had told Maria a bunch of stuff he loved about Michael, so how could Maria do this? C*rina can simply now just point to this scene and say, “No, see, look, they addressed that.”
She’s making Maria look worse and worse. Alex basically told Maria that he was in love Michael, and she saw the look on his face and heard the sound of his voice when he said he never got to say goodbye. Forget what he says, if Maria still ends up dating Michael afterwards, then she’s a crappy character and an even crappier friend. Again, I’m happy with how Alex treated her. He did everything I expected him to, and then some. Always the hero, and I love him for it, but the rest will depend on Maria now.
The flashback scene. Guys, I have to say, I’m conflicted about that. As much as I loved seeing them together, I just couldn’t really enjoy it because it really was the calm before the storm, wasn’t it? We all know that’s not how things stayed between them, that’s not the present. I felt like it was C*rina trying to coax us, to say, “Well, I know this scene with Alex and Maria will probably piss you off, but look! Malex!” And it meant very little to me (don’t get me wrong, I was screaming with every flirt and kiss. Now I need Present Michael to kiss Present Alex’s cheek) because I know that’s not how things are now.
Michael was phenomenal. Truly. That entire episode was, in my opinion, the best work he’d ever done, and the relationship with Max is a favorite of mine. So, truly, kudos to him for such beautiful, magical work.
Kylex was phenomenal, I can’t tell you what it meant to me when Alex came and sat down next to Kyle, and the two shared a flask. That scene just proved everything Alex had told Maria was a lie. Aren’t friends? Don’t start with me. It just proved that the conversation with Maria was Alex trying to prepare himself for disappointment. He knows Maria and Michael are going to date regardless of what he says, and he wants to convince himself it’s okay. He talks about Kyle like they’re not friends -- he’s afraid he’ll lose him, this one really good thing he has now, so he’s trying not to get his hopes up. It’s tragic, but, unfortunately and fortunately, for many reasons, that’s who Alex is. The tragic hero.
That entire scene with Alex and Maria, in a nutshell, was to me a kind of closure for Alex. The story with Malex happened, and now, to Alex, it’s over and it’s time to keep moving forward. All the loose ends are finally tied up (but are they though?), and hopefully he can find in Forrest a new love and a chance to really be happy (until Malex get back together, of course, though it will have to be in an epic way). It is what it is, and we all know it was also a way to relieve Maria of any guilt (if she hadn’t needed Alex’s help with the computer, would she have come over for a talk at all?), and whatever Alex feels, I personally won’t be able to stand the sight of her until M*luca is dead and gone. But this is what we knew would happen, and however you want to accept that, or don’t want to accept that, is up to you.

Kim Taehyung- Amor Fabula~Sound Of Heart (ALSO 200th POST, WEEEE)
Alrighty my friends! Let’s skip the casual talk and hop right into it! Once again this is part of the Amor Fabula Saga over on the @btswriterscorner blog.
Tumblr media
Bro...life has been kicking my ass and it’s literally killing me on the inside like wow why does Earth hate me right now?...but Ima push that aside to get this deadline done.
Let’s begin. (I felt like changing it up from ‘leggo’)
...
It was foreign to him. He didn’t know what it meant let alone how to feel it. He walls were so high up, they could rival the gates of heaven. No one knew why. What had hurt him to the point where he was so angry at the very idea of love, or even companionship?
You were the opposite. Not only were you in love with the idea of love, but you seemed to attract it in more ways than one. Whether from your friends, or even random strangers. Even if you had none of those things, the word just seemed to radiate off you like heat radiated off the sun.
With all that being said, make no mistake. You weren’t interested in trying to fix a broken man. You already had yourself to worry about. Who were you to try to love a man who hated the word almost as much as he seemed to hate himself? Who was he to fool himself into thinking anyone could care for him?
These are the questions that need to be answered in today’s world.
...
You were walking down the halls of the office building, staring down at your phone. Deleting emails required a whole other level of focus. You could barely muster an audible hello to the front desk woman who seemed to be in her own little world as well.
“Y/N! “ your work friend, Yuna rushed to your side.
“Hm?” you mumbled, looking up from your phone. You lowered the device and put it in your pocket. “What’s up?” You were on your way to the lounge room when she ran up. She looked a hot mess. Hair sticking up in strange places, sweating bullets, and you were sure she had hauled herself over traffic by foot just to tell you the news.
“It’s The chairman’s son!” she managed to get out.
“What about the chairman’s son?” You curiously raised an eyebrow. “Is he in town to tell us that we’re all trash and should be fired?”
“No, not Duke. The youngest one!”
“You mean...Taehyung? His adoptive son, right??” you raised an eyebrow, just to make sure you and her were on the same page. “The chairman has so many children I don’t even keep count.”
“Yes! He’s the new CEO!” she looked both pissed off and absolutely mortified. “ I just saw him fire Rai and Sera in front of everybody!”
“I would think you’d be excited for that. You hate them. “ You huffed, not really seeing what she was on about. “Like last week you were talking about how you wished Sera would literally get hit by a train.”
“Okay but he sent the both of them out crying! Like he was so harsh it wasn’t even funny enough for me to crack a smile.” she explained.
That was when you realized she was absolutely serious. “Wait...The chairman really stepped down?” you paused. “The original chairman, I mean. I thought he was going into-”
“Change of plans.” she knew exactly what you were going to say. “The chairman insisted. Apparently he’s an old man and all his companies need someone to watch over them while he focuses on his retirement. Taehyung was the first person to offer.”
“Yuna, are you for real?” you grabbed her shoulders. “Be serious.”
“Yes!” she nodded quickly. “Taehyung just sent an email that he’s making cuts to every department!” she looked like she was about to freak out. “I can’t get fired! I’ve worked so hard Y/N!”  She looked like she was about to cry and you didn’t like that at all.
“Yuna, calm down! I’m sure the chairman wouldn’t allow that.” you shook your head. “Just because he’s boss now doesn’t mean he can get rid of us.”
“Y/N I love your optimism but you don’t know that for sure.” Yuna looked unsure. “I mean look at us, he’s probably gonna turn this place into a warehouse and just work us all to death! I’m not some kind of puppet! WE’RE GONNA TURN INTO SLUDGE. SLUDGE DOES NOT LOOK GOOD IN HIGH HEELS.”
“Listen, Yuna. I’m not gonna let that daddy’s boy fire you or me. He’ll have to say it to my face before I let him say it to yours.” you seethed.
“Is that so?”
You and Yuna both froze in place.
‘He behind me isn’t he?’ You whispered. She slowly nodded, which made you grumble profanities under your breath. You whipped around and saw the daddy’s boy himself.
“You must be Y/N...you were always my father’s favorite.” he crossed his arms. “I can’t see why.”
“Excuse me?” you put a hand on your hip. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Exactly how it sounds Miss. L/N. My father speaks highly of both you and your friend but from what I’ve seen, those accolades are undeserved and could very much be replaced by those who are more qualified, wouldn’t you say?”
Now you were aware of what was going on. He was trying to rile you up. It was working...but not well enough.
“Well..Mr.Kim.” you sighed, straightening out your shoulders. “ I’m sorry you feel that way.” you bowed respectfully. “I’ll make sure to do better to prove to you that I’m a worthy member of the new team you end up building...Yuna, are you coming?” you went to walk past him, Yuna on your tail.
“I think you made him mad!”
“Good, people like him are better off that way anyways. He might be the new boss but as long we we’re in the same age group, he has no power over me. Fuck his rules.”
“Y/N, you don’t know who Taehyung is do you? Like what he does?”
“Not really and I can’t say I care too much.” you scoffed. ‘Why?”
“Kim Taehyung is the current president of the Lottery division for the government.” Yuna stopped you two from walking. “You know that thing where your parents are in charge of giving you a new husband?”
“Yeah? But I haven’t spoken to my parents in 3 years...you know this.” you narrowed your eyebrows at her. Your parents were a touchy subject and you hated talking about them. “What does that have to do with the anything?”
“If your parents don’t decide...HE does.” she emphasized. “Seriously do you even watch the news?”
“No.” you shook your head. “It’s depressing and stupid.” you huffed. “I don’t exactly follow politic either.”
“Well you need to start. Police officers, corrupt politicians...they got nothing on that guy. He’s the most feared man in this government because the population depends on him. I heard he made his ex who cheated on him marry a convicted felon.”
“Then why would he take the role of CEO for a company that has nothing to do with the government?”
“...So he can see whose life he wants to ruin first...either that, or he’s planning something big and needs a time waster like working for a small company like this one.”
You didn’t flinch...at least not on the outside. Yeah you knew about the Sweep Lottery, you just hated thinking about it. You were hoping you could avoid it until the time came. Guess that plan wasn’t going to work.
...
It wasn’t even half a year with Taehyung as the new head of the company and everyone was already miserable! You all were being worked to the bone and you were positive a few team members had quit. 5 months of being yelled at and ridiculed for no reason other than the fact that he was your boss.
“Who does he think he is!” Yuna snapped. “And we can’t even talk to the chairman! He’s in Hawaii for the weekend.”
“He’s literally going to run what Mr. Kim had worked so hard to build into the ground. I can’t stand him!” another friend, Rina kicked back another shot of who knew what. It definitely wasn’t soju. “I swear if I was allowed to, I’d run him over.”
“You guys I don’t like this anymore than you do but-”
“YOU JERK!” You were cut off when a high-pitched scream ripped through the small restaurant. You, Rina, and Yuna all turned to the commotion. A girl was getting ready to throw a drink at someone, but not just anyone.
“Is that Taehyung?!” Rina managed to get the words out through her drunken hiccups. Rina was right, Taehyung was at the receiving end of all that commotion. He just stood there with a partially amused look on his face as the girl ran off screaming at the top of her lungs.
“How much you guys wanna bet he steals baby kittens in his freetime?” you mumbled. Taehyung must have heard your laughing because he turned towards your group. While you and Rina laughed amongst yourselves, Yuna held up her glass in a ‘cheers’ motion as she also held up the middle finger with her free hand.  He looked as if he genuinely couldn’t care less until his eyes landed on yours. All you could do was make a heartbreak motion with your hands as your turned back towards your friends. Serves him right.
As the night carried on, you and your friends carried on too. You decided you all drank enough for the night as just made time to enjoy yourselves. You couldn’t help but think of what happened earlier with Taehyung though. That girl just technically embarrassed him and he brushed it off. It made you wonder exactly what he was hiding. Or why he didn’t care.
...
You were now sitting at the bar by yourself. Yuna had taken Rina’s drunk ass home and you hung behind just to gather your thoughts to yourself. If Yuna was right. It just made him look like a huge jerk.
“Bet you thought that was funny, did you?”
You turned around and saw Taehyung standing behind you.
“Absolutely.” you replied honestly. “Side splittingly hilarious.” you said in monotone, lifting your drink to your lips. “Let me guess...a girlfriend of yours?”
“I don’t exactly see you here with a boyfriend.” he rolled his eyes. “Can I sit?”
“Relationships are useless in this country. Go ahead.” you sighed. “...sucks doesn’t it?” you giggled.
“Yeah.” he grumbled. “Mind if I drink?”
You figured since you weren’t at work, you could hold off on hating his guts for a while. You handed your full glass over to him. You stared at him as he took a sip of the liquor.
“Fuck...” he groaned, running a hand through his hair. “Be honest with me, am I an asshole?”
“Yes.” you answered quickly. “A huge festering, fissuring, painfully obvious asshole.”
“Right.” he sighed, sliding the glass over to you. “Figured as such. I can set people up but can’t seem to find myself a mate.”
“Well are you looking for a wife or a baby-maker.” you scoffed, causing him to laugh. “Whatever works for you, I guess.” you shrugged. “You are the one who calls the shots. Someone else could always do it for you.”
“Don’t remind me.” he glared. “Really, don’t.” he hiccuped. “I can’t even talk to a woman without her wanting to kill me. Half the time I’m not even the one doing the Sweep.”
“Like that girl from earlier?”
“No...and she wasn’t my girlfriend either. She threw her drink at me because I appointed her sister to marry boyfriend that apparently was hers.”
“Harsh.” you laughed. “Well, you only have yourself to blame. Taking love and happiness from others must be so tiring you joked.”
You suddenly noticed a lot of people in the bar were glaring potholes into Taehyung’s head. The looks they gave you varied on the pity spectrum. It was easy to see that Taehyung wasn’t the most popular man in town. It must have gave them pleasure seeing that girl throw a drink in his face.
“Well if the people of this country know the rules on government mandated marriage, then they should know what they’re getting themselves into before hand.” he rebutted. “....I overheard you and Yuna talking. You said something about your parents.”
“And the fact that I hate them?” you questioned. “Why?”
“Just wondering why you hate them so much.” he shrugged. “If you want to talk about it.
“...I caught my l mother cheating on my father with a younger man when I was young. My mother cheated on him every week and to an extent I even found her with one of my old high school classmates.” you huffed. “My father ran off with his accountant.” you explained. “Then again they hated each other when they got together.” you laughed. “So much for a loving household. That’s just what the lottery sweep does, right?” you jumped to your feet. “Well, I’m out of here.”
“You’re leaving?” he turned to look at you.
“I don’t exactly have a reason to stay here.” you tilted your head the side.
“The bar or...something else.” he trailed off.
“...Yes.” you replied, not really telling him what you were talking about.
...
To say that you were surprised to see Rina blazing mad. She walked up to you, a red envelope in her hand. However she instantly went from being pissed to absolutely defeated.
“He’s done it.” she quivered in her shoes. She thrust the envelope in your hands. “Read it.” she couldn’t even look at you.
“Um...Okay?” you trailed off, growing very concerned.  “Did he fire you?”
“Even worse...just read.”
“ Rina Hiroka, the government is pleased to announce that you have been chosen from the random computer generated list of all the women in the country. You will be engaged to marry...Sung Robin by this time next year?!- Rina you’re kidding me!”
“It’s right there! I got the envelope at my door this morning!” she began to freak out. “I’m only 22! They can’t do that can they?” she asked, taking the envelope back from you.
“....I don’t know, but I’m gonna find out..” you seethed, suddenly recalling what Yuna had told you about Taehyung. “I’m gonna kill that little daddy’s boy executive.” you turned around, walking away from Rina.
“Y/N?....Where are you going!”
“To take the trash out.”
...
You didn’t even knock on the door before entering the office.
“Y/N L/N what makes you think you think you can just burst into my office without knocking first?”
“What makes YOU think you can just marry off Rina like she’s a piece of meat to some random?!” you spat.
“You don’t understand my line of work.” he casually turned back towards his computer. “Go back to work L/N.”
“Well guess what, I DO know your line of work. I understand real fucking well.” you scoffed, shutting the door behind you. “You are reeaalllly fucking sad, you know that?”
You insult caused him to stand to his feet. “What did you just say to me?”
“You heard me! YOU. ARE. SAD. Rina’s 22, she isn’t even out of college yet!” you pointed accusingly. “Yet you’re gonna marry her off? What is wrong with you old ass government creeps. Do you people get off to basically selling young women?”
“Would you be saying this is Rina wasn’t your close friend?” Taehyung laughed harshly. “Hypocrisy is a bad look on you, Y/N.”
“You’re one to talk!” you snapped. “I bet you make sure your friends end up with the girls on their dreams.” you scoffed.
“Even if I had friends....rules are rules.”
“One, that doesn’t answer my question, and Two, has it ever occured to you that the reason you don’t have friends is because you...hm I don’t know...ruin lives?”
“Like you’re any better!” Taehyung raised his voice even louder. “I bet some of your beliefs are just as fucked up and wrong.”
“...Oh you wanna go there?” you said lowly. “We can go there if you want...I am so ready to go there.”
“Y/N, just listen to me.”
"Don't you understand what you've done!? You've ruined so many lives in the past and you can't even bear to look at yourself because you know just exactly who the hell you are! I'd rather be delusional than a monster who just takes happiness from others despite everyone...and I DO MEAN EVERYONE stating just how fucked up this stupid lotto is! You want to talk about me and my beliefs...at least my beliefs don't come with emotional baggage."
“You don’t think I know that!?” he suddenly snapped. “I know, trust me I do!”
“Then why. you let me know because I’m having trouble seeing your reasoning.” you crossed your arms.
“I do this because my lottery makes sure that infidelity, adultery, all of that bullshit is obliterated.” he responded. “Times had changed since your parent’s lotto rules. My rules establish that all forms of adultery are to be punished.”
“Oh really, adultery? Adultery! There are a lot more things to think about other than adultery.” you mocked. “Does it end there? What about abuse, what about rules that enable child protection, what about rules about the death of a spouse? Did you think about that?”
Taehyung was silent.
“Has it ever occured to you that maybe you are so cynical that the thought of other people’s free will just pisses you off?” you challenged. “You think you’re helping people but in reality you just can’t bear to realize happy marriages exist.”
“Like you’re any better than me? You think you’re so great and pure? Your squeaky clean image with your can-do-no wrong attitude, Y/N.”
“Please.” you scoffed. “If you’re trying to rile me up you’re failing miserably.” you huffed. “You know what, whatever. I’m gonna get your father, also known as the REAL chairman of this company, on the phone and see what he has to say..” you rolled your eyes, beginning to walk past him.
“Y/N wait!” The voice was pleading. It was surprising enough to make you stop. “Please....I’m sorry. But...I just don’t get it...what the hell even is love? Are people just happy? 60% of marriages ended in divorce so obviously whatever was there before...isn’t there five to ten years down the line.”
“That’s a lie.” you looked away.
“....Look at how your parent’s turned out.” he dared to say. You’re glare was harsh, if even possible at this point.
“Listen...You don’t believe in love. I get that. However, is your selfishness really a determining factor in other people’s lives? My family was broken from the beginning.”
“What I want know is why do YOU believe in love. What about this fucking word- this concept is so important to you..” he sighed, walking up to you.
“Why don’t you” you refused to look at him. “Being told who I’m supposed to end up with...tell me Taehyung...would you want that?”
“I’m not the one who has to worry about it.” he said lowly.
“That doesn’t answer my question.” you found the wits about you to turn around to face him. “Yes or no?”
“...I can’t answer that.”
“Of course you fucking can’t. My parents hated me...they couldn’t stand me, how I was brought into the world. With all of that hate, and resentment in my heart, Love is the only thing I can turn to to keep me sane. My friends love me, my aunts and uncles love me...and yet-” you paused to laugh harshly. “Yet I can’t seek authentic love from someone else? Especially someone who I’m bound to have an ENTIRE ASS CHILD WITH. Love to me...is the closest thing I have to freedom.” you crossed your arms. “And this isn’t freedom...it’s suffocating.”
“Well good for you...you done?” he feigned boredom, which pissed you off even more.
“You don’t get it do you?” you said lowly. “And you never will.” you shook your head. “...You know what? I quit!” you yanked off your nametag. You threw it at him, which bounced off his head.
“Y/N! Y/N get back here!” he called after you.
When you got into the main hallway, you grabbed your purse and made haste for the lobby. Yuna was comforting Rina at the front desk.
“Y/N? Y/N?! Where are you going?” Yuna called after you.
“I quit.” you mumbled in response, stopping in place. “I can’t work here with him. I just can’t.” you reasoned.
“So you’re just gonna quit? What are you gonna do?” Rina paused her sobbing session. “I hope you didn’t quit because of me.”
“It isn’t just you.” you shook your head. “It’s him, and his ways on thinking and he-”
“Is walking up right behind you.” Yuna finished.
“What what I was gonna say, but-AAH!”
You felt something grab your arm and begin to pull you along. Taehyung was walking back in the direction of his office where you came from.
“Hey! Let me go! This is kidnap! Who do you think you are!?”
Just like that, you were taken back to his office. You were practically thrown into a chair. “Y’know this defeats the purpose of my quitting if I’m just gonna come right back!” you protested. “What do you want...”
“Teach me how to love.” were his only words.
“Excuse me?” you raised an eyebrow. “Teach you.”
“Y-yes! Since I’m so heartless and cruel like you think I am so...you’re gonna show me what love is...and how to do it.” his words made you laugh.
“Y-you want me..to show you what love is.” you burst into a fit of laughter. You quickly stopped when you saw he was dead serious. “Oh...you’re being serious?”
“I never kid, Y/N.” he raised an eyebrow. “ Since you seem so intent that I’m just some broken man-”
“I never said you were broken.” you cut him off.
“You didn’t have to...so you’re going to teach me what love is and if people can really survive with it.”
“How exactly are we gonna get you to believe in love?”
“We’re gonna get married.”
His words almost made you choke on air. “W-wait! Me and you?! Get married?!” you widened your eyes at his literal proposal. “Hold on a second!”
“We’re gonna live together, sleep in the same bed, and do all the things you’re supposed to do in a marriage and if you can get me to fall in love...and fall hard...then ‘ll get rid of the Sweep Lottery.”
Now you were interested, not only because you were surprised he had the power to even do that, but because of the deal he was making.
“You have a year.” he didn’t give you time to verify or deny his proposition. “Do you accept?”
“So you really expect to understand the concept of love in 12 months?” you asked honestly.
“Fine...we’ll be married for two years.” the expression never left his face. “Do you accept?”
You had to marinate on the subject. You have to prove to Taehyung that love was real, in two years. You had to get married to this guy in order to prove a point. Were you that stubborn? Call it selfish, but you were really so desperate to go against this man to prove something. Were you ready to rub such a thing in his face.
“....Bring it on.”
(I meant to post this around 3PM...then life got in the way so you’re getting it at 4:15 as I finish typing)

mags , summer before berlin !! || @gallaghertasks
summary: mags is picked up by her mom, stays with her parents at d.c. for a week and then travels down to new inverness, georgia to see some more family. and sisa. also she goes blonde before berlin.
notes: i just wanted to look up more cow pics and use more blonde paris sjkdf i did this 2 myself!
location: roseville, virginia.
even if she was just a tad bit hangover ( read: a lot ) after the party, mags had to force herself to wake up when her phone started to ring. her mom was on her way - fifteen minutes tops - and mags wasn’t even done packing. so she pushes herself off to take a quick shower and put some undereye masks on, to temporarily remedy what she assumed was a face that had been through hell and back for the past 24 hours. she did her best to put her clothes in one suitcase and one duffel bag she had packed, plus her journals and supplies in her backpack. after finishing her packing and making sure she didn't leave anything behind, she bid isabel ( @oofisabel ) and willow ( @willoww-est ) goodbye with tight hugs and tears that she’ll deny, promising to keep in touch before they all see each other again in berlin. as she trudges through sakamoto floor, she heaves a heavy sigh, still not quite believing that her first year at gallagher was truly over. after all the tragedies and the moments she'll never forget in between, it was over just like that. it wasn’t until she had finished putting her bags up in the trunk of her mother’s SUV that mags felt tired once again. perhaps a combination of both the cocktail of emotions she’s feeling and the amount of cocktails and drinks she was able to procure the night before, thanks to ria ( @riaflicke ) and she sits in the passenger seat to see her mom lovingly staring at the other students packing it up and roaming around. turning back to her, felicia romero - fbi special agent, former gallagher girl,  and all around badass - raised her sunglasses for a bit with a knowing smile. “good old-fashioned code red, huh?” a wistful sigh. “those were the days.” and as the sunglasses slid back on top of her nose and she turns the car back on. a smirk was the only thing that could tell mags that she wasn’t gonna be sleeping for most of this car ride back to d.c. “so is it like when you went to that new year’s party, hmm?” she tweaked her daughter’s nose, her tone playful. felicia was happy to see her daughter just having a regular life, besides the backdrop of danger and espionage. “bad girl, mags.” location: washington d.c. thankfully by the time they get back to their house, mags’ eyes were not as shot as they were that morning. not to mention the teabags her mother gave her from the earl grey the older woman had in her thermos which surely helped. a splash of perfume and some mints and mags showed almost no sign of having been trashed the night before. her father welcomed them at the door of their home. small and not a barn, but since the romeros returned as special agents, it was enough for them to call home. that week, the three took the opportunity together to walk around d.c. and eat out and just be a regular, normal family. at least during the daytime. during nights, mags became magdalena, the only child and overprotected yet again, and she recounted her year to both of them ( though, only felicia gets to hear the juicy details like the dances and the cutest students she took note of and how to fend off really bad hangovers ). miguel almost wanted to reconsider it, seeing just how close his daughter had been to the many things they’ve heard about, and how sad mags truly was that she had lost someone that she actually knew like amelia. but the two of them knew that the world outside of gallagher was far more ruthless, and protecting her so much could only do her harm, so they recant and they let her rant about some classes that she had that weren’t so nice ( though she passed! ) and celebrated her little victories, like passing the foreign language classes with flying colors.
even if felicia gets to be the one that knows the more normal, a little wild side of her year, miguel gets to have his talk with her, too. her father pulls her aside one night and the two of them talk. they talk about loss, and they talk about danger. topics that weren’t anything new, but even if they’ve discussed it before, there will always be new things to talk about. amelia’s death, the lockdown, the loss of an artifact, and the realization that someone who you thought was on your side turns out to be against you after all. miguel, ever the pragmatic, tells her the opposite of what the administration has told her all year: to always worry and to never leave it alone. above all, he tells her to follow her instincts. because while the system may seem stable, he didn’t want her to depend on such thing. because as her parents have known, the system won’t always protect you. and while she knows it to be true, it would take a while before it would sink in. not because she’s stubborn, but because there was still a part of her that wanted to cling to the softer things the universe has to offer. she wasn’t quite ready to be as hardy as her father is. location: new inverness, georgia. for the drive down to georgia, miguel accompanies mags. felicia promises to catch up in a few days after finishing up some work-related things. the drive down was full of stories and jokes and playing the license plate game, which was needed after a whole year of mags not being able to be with her parents. it doesn't take that long before miguel confronts her about the same things she shared with her mom - namely, the drinking, the partying, and potentially hooking up with people. especially since they both know she'll be away in berlin in less than a month in almost the same exact situation, with minimal supervision. "it's not that i don't trust you, i do. and i know you know how to handle yourself. but .. you have to know your limits. and trust your instincts. always. if someone seems off, chances are: they are. not judging the book's cover, but feeling it out." she blinks, lips pursed as she waits for judgment or something related. "you're growing up now, and i want you to know that whatever happens, we have your back. do you understand?" wordlessly, she nods her head. "you know, there are people that might take advantage or think that you know less than they do but you don't. in fact, i am confident that you know more than they do. it's why they are threatened, and it's why they'll try and break you." "pa, i'm fine. no one's doing that--" "maybe not now, but they will." he takes a glance at her before looking back ahead, as they drove down the highway. "you have..you have a soft heart, magdalena. your lola rina, she'll tell you this too but I'll tell you now that she means it with love. but you..you are kind. you look at people and you see hope and you have hope. and i know you are smart enough to surround yourself with people that provide it but there are those that will twist what you have and turn it sour." a pause, "and maybe it'll drive you down a path that you didn't see coming, but..what i want to say is, your mom and i will always love you." another pause, before mags squeaked out. "do you think i will?" miguel sighed, "i sure do hope not, but..we like to keep things covered. and so that you won't shun us in the future. we just wanna be part of your life still." as the exit leading into their family land comes into view, mags felt relief. she'd rather get her cheeks pinched by her lola instead of this. location: romero estate, hacienda guinoo @ new inverness, georgia. it was a rather large piece of land, legally known as the romero estate. amongst the actual family members though, and it's known as hacienda guinoo, a name her lolo had picked in memory of a friend. and at the highest balcony of hacienda guinoo stood severina romero, all of ninety years old, a small telescope observing the car ( 'clunky ford truck, hay nako* miguel, get it fixed!' ) as it entered the driveway into their garage. for years, mags and her cousin nikki were always so curious about how lola rina even got the hacienda, besides having her name in the title along with lolo ignacio. because besides this land, they didn't have much wealth to speak of. it was just acre after acre of plants and farm animals, all tended to by lola rina's employees and caretakers. was it a gift? did lolo ignacio kill someone for this land? ( although, that one they wouldn't joke about too much, seeing as he had fought in the war before. he's seen and done things, for sure. ) for the rest of the month, tita maya and cousin nikki comes in to stay with them as well. nikki, almost the same age, had just gotten off her first year studying journalism at stanford university. tita maya was cia, and while nikki wasn't in the business, she had ties, so her ears were open when mags tells of the witsec students and how most of them left with gallagher's secrets. "couldn't be me. i'm too much of a blabbermouth." nikki joked. "excuse me, you have not told anyone of our parents working for the government." mags retorted. nikki waved her off. "yeah, because mom would kill me if i told. that's a spy thing, maggie! i'd tell you but then i'd have to kill you? yeah. cliche." and mags shakes her head, but for a moment, she feels lucky to have nikki to talk to. since the sloanes - her mother's family - weren't all knowledgable about the world of espionage. when she's not with nikki ( or even when she is! ) mags spends time with sisa and tries not to leave her side. after the health scare that brought her back to this place months ago faded away, there was no day that went by that mags didn't worry about her. she tells sisa stories of her year, the good and the bad. nikki listens in, and even though stanford could barely equip her like gallagher could when it came to the deeper stuff, she encourages mags to work out with her on the farm. from helping the caretakers out in the field to taking on chloe ting and cassey ho workouts inside the house. "journalists have to be prepared too, y'know!" before berlin, she keeps in touch with her friends. messaging almost every day, videochatting every now and then. they'd probably have received at least two photos of sisa and the other animals on the farm at some point. maybe a selfie or two with her cousin nikki, as well. nikki teases her about the number of ridiculously attractive people at gallagher as they scroll through mags' phone gallery which was half-filled with slightly blurry shots of people like her friends and just random snapshots from the many opportunities she's had at gallagher and the weekends out at roseville, "lucky bitch. all we have at stanford are some Zuckerberg wannabes. it's a trash heap." and points at some of the photos where some of the upperclassmen were present. "her, i'd date. her too." she declares, half-joking, as she points at willow and ria in snapshots she took during the end-of-the-year dance. she fake-gasped, "don't date my best friends, nix. that is not girl code!" her cousin also helps her out when it came to packing. "can't let lola do this with you. she'll give you like, long-sleeves or something so the boys don't get distracted." mags snorts in response, "she's not like that." "you say that now, i mean, we could always call her in here and--" "no, no, please. you help me. i-it's fine!" and nikki laughs as she places a cute sundress from her own wardrobe into mags' suitcase. "also, nix..can i ask for a favor?" she squeaked, looking at her cousin with a hopeful expression. nikki raised a brow, though she nodded. mags hardly ever asked for favors from her, though the same was not said for herself. "of course. anything." and when time came for her to fly to berlin, her parents, her aunt, nikki, and her grandmother saw her off at the airport. mags was a little scared, naturally, and twirled her now half-blonde hair. to everyone's surprise, it was lola rina who bid her goodbye last, her still deft fingers slipping in something in her pockets. "your greatest weapon is yourself." her lola had muttered in her ear as the two embraced, calmly adding, "mag-iingat ka magdalena. wag ka basta-basta na lang maniniwala sa kung anu-ano.**", which sent chills to her spine. her paternal grandmother was already a chilling woman, but her words didn't do much to alleviate the internal worries she had of going to another country all by herself, even though she'd be under the umbrella supervision of gallagher and the berlin agency that had taken them in. "i will, lola." and off she went, looking forward to a hopefully productive internship at berlin and rooming with max ( @brandtmax ) and spending the rest of the summer with friends and colleagues alike !! * "oh my god, miguel." ** "take care of yourself magdalena. don't believe in just about everything."

"ETHAN" Rina screamed in frustration. Ethan aggressively raised his hand silencing her. "Dr. Ramsey". He corrected coldly, trying his best to remain emotionless even though he felt his heart breaking even more. They had been fighting about everything lately...out of anger...out of frustration...out of love? Ethan had spent many restless nights trying to figure out which. Everything had changed since Naveen made Rina junior fellow on the diagnostic team. Their relationship or what ever they had ended. It always started with a comment or two different diagnosis of a patient, but no matter how it started it always ended the same... personal. What neither one of them knew was that this one was gonna hit them ten times harder.
"I'm tired of fighting with you. I'm so tired" Rina whispered as she leaned up against Ethan's cold kitchen island.
"You say that as if I was the one that came to your home at ten o'clock demanding an answer to a stupid question"!
Rina felt her anger, all her anger toward him that she tried to keep at bay, boil over. "You know all those times you said that you weren't who I thought you were, I kept believing in you and for WHAT to find out that you are just a cold bastard that doesn't give a damn about anyone except himself and his career".
"What... I stopped our whole relationship because of YOUR career Rina"!
"Yes, but you took away my choice." She took a cautious step toward him placing her hand atop his. "What about what I want, who I want? I'm a grown woman I can make my own choices".
Rina leaned closer. She felt relief pass through her body. She had broke his walls agian. She ghosted her lips across his and felt his warm breath flutter across her face...that was all too soon replaced by a cold rush of air. She opened her eyes to see his face that held the same emotions that it did in Miami.
She sighed "Not again Ethan". She couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She knew that she looked awful her makeup probably ary, but it was nothing close to how she felt, embarrassment, anger, and heartbroken. "Please don't make me go thought this agian".
She was meet with silence. After a moment of building up enough courage, she looked over to Ethan. His ocean blue eyes giving his longing and sadness away.
"I'm sorry Rookie".
Her anger over taking her hurt, she grabbed her phone and made her way to the door. Her hand pausing on the silver doorknob when she felt a tug on her pant leg and heard a small whimper. She looked down to see Jenner bitting her jeans in attempt to keep her there forever. She bent down and scratched the dogs head. Being an older dog Jenner was stubborn and had no intent on letting go.
"Let her go Jenner". Ethan whispered.
Rina looked up from jenner and looked Ethan dead in the eyes and replying.
"Like you did"?
The hurt in Ethan's eyes was evident but she didn't regret it, he deserved it. With that she scratched Jenner's head once more before lightly tugging her jeans out of Jenner's mouth.
"Bye baby". She said looking at jenner but both her and Ethan knowing who she was really talking to.
The sound of the door slamming and Jenner's paws scraping up against it echoed throughout Ethan's apartment which now felt so empty without Rina's presence.
The Next day:
Rina rounded the corner and shuffled her feet until she was at Naveen's door. She knocked and heard a a muffled "come in".
She opened the door to see Dr. Benjiri sitting behind his desk smiling broadly. Ethan was to his right purposely looking at a file in his hand, not moving an inch. She was too busy studying Ethan that she was oblivious to the handsome stranger that stood next to a bookcase.
"Dr. Carrera please meet the newest addition to the diagnostic team Dr. Reed Hanson". She looked away from Ethan to make contact with a short but handsome brown haired doctor. She felt her cheeks turn light pink "Nice to meet you Dr. Carrera". He said with a brilliant smile stretching his hand out to meet hers.
"Oh please call me Rina". She accepted his hand. A sudden spark of electricity rushed through body.
"Ah well apartly we have a spark". Reed said with a suggestive smirk.
As much as Rina tried to resist she couldn't help but get flustered at his words. She quickly looked at the ground. Missing the deadly and territorial glare Ethan gave Reed. Which just gave Reed's smirk more fuel, growing even larger.
"It's just simple static electricity". Ethan mumbled to himself before turning his attention back to his file.
Naveen being Naveen, missed nothing. Biting back a laugh he turned to Rina.
"The reason I called you in here today Rina is because I would like you and Ethan to give Dr. Hanson here a tour".
Ethan sighed "Benjiri, I have patients to attend to that is if you haven't forgotten".
Naveen knowing Ethan too well knew how to get Ethan to cave. "Alas Ethan you can tend to your patients I'm sure Rina would be fine with giving a private tour to Dr. Hanson". The infasis on private made Ethan's blood boil.
"I suppose I can find the time". Ethan replied with a unmistakable tang of jealousy.
"Well if your sure Ethan. Have fun kids and welcome Dr. Hanson it is a pleasure to have you here". With one last smile Naveen turned back to his pile of paperwork that lay in front of him.
"After you, Rina". Reed said as he held the door open for her.
"Well thank you...Reed". She gave him a smile and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She didn't know why he's kind words had such an effect on her maybe it was because he openly and shamelessly flirted with her in front of their boss. A bold move. One that she knew Ethan would never take.
10 minutes later:
"So this is your office which is right beside mine. If you ever need anything stop on by".
"All be sure too".
Ethan cleared his throat loudly. Causing their attention to drift to him. "As fun and glamorous as this has been I have patients to tend to as do you Ri- Dr. Carrera".
Rina casually opened the file that she had picked up from the nurse's station prior to coming to the their offices.
"No, actually my patients are alive and slowly getting back to the kicking part. So on that note would you like some help getting set up". Rina said gesturing into Reed's office which was filled with boxes.
"I would love that. After you".
Rina walked into the office setting her folder on the nearby coffee table. As Reed entered after her he threw Ethan a smirk as he shut the door in his face.
1 hour later:
Ethan aggressively threw his patient files into his brief case. He had walked passed Reed's office many times to check up on them. They sound of Rina's laugh still filled his head. His timing was impeccable the day after he screws up Reed shows up ready to whisk Rina off to a castle of gold. He had known Reed ever since medical school. He had always believed that rivalrys were stupid until Reed. Everything between them was a competition, grades, popularity, girls. One main girl in particular Alana Lee. Ethan cringed at the thought. Reed had always put on a mask of a nice charming man, but Ethan had always seen throught it. If only Alana had. He could still see that dammed smirk Reed gave him when Alana told him that she was leaving him for Reed...of all people! Now he was coming after Rina. This time it wasn't the same. Sure he cared about Alana but he didn't love her, not like he did Rina.
30 minutes later:
"Thanks for the help Rina". Rina glanced over her shoulder before returning her gaze to the bookshelf in front of her. "Oh it was no problem Reed".
"Um so listen Rina I was wondering"?
Rina knew where he was going. She had heard it many times in medical school, and had gotten used to letting them down gently.
"What"? Rina said walking over to him with a smirk.
Don't do this Rina you've only know him for less than two hours but...it would drive Ethan over the edge. She thought as he continued reflecting her smirk.
"If you like to go for some drinks with me tonight"?
"I would love too"!
Same Time:
Ethan hastily moved his ear from the door when he heard approaching footsteps inside the office. He searched his brain for an excuse as to why he was in a hallway that was no where near his office nor an exit. He looked for a place to hid. His eye landing on a supply closet.
He opened the door walking into the dimly lit, fully stocked closet. He heard faint voices and footsteps retreating, before realizing who he had become.
He was Ethan Ramsey. Well Ethan Freaking Ramsey as Rina called him when she saved Naveen, a smile ghosting across his face at the memory. He slowly slid down the door that he was leaning against till he sat on the floor. He once thought that love wasn't real that it was just a word people would say to each other when they could stand to be together longer than five minutes. It wasn't till now he realized how wrong he was. Out of love for Rina he was hiding in a supply closet. Out of love he ended their relationship. Out of love...he changed for her. But he had to change back, no matter how bad it hurt.
The Next Day:
"Damn, I shouldn't have drunk so much". Rina scolded herself as she walked into the hospital. The bright florescent lights blinding her.
As Rina passed the nurse's station she gave Sahra the early shift nurse a warm smile.
As she was about to enter her office a sharp, cold voice stopped her in her tracks. Ethan was walking straight toward her with purpose. His eyes resembling fire even in the darkest blue specks.
"Could you explain this".
He said once he had reached her, shoving a tan folder at her. Instantly regretting it when she jumped slightly in response to his rought manner that he never used around her but to other interns and people that were agitating him.
She sighed deeply "That's one of my old patient's chart".
"That you dismissed".
"Considering she's an old patient, yeah Ethan".
His eyes narrowing even further before continuing. "Do not forget Dr. Carrera I am your boss and you are being unprofessional and unethical".
"Ah, so you've said but your actions seem to differ. In my apartment you were not very ethical, nor were you at yours".
"Technically I was not your boss on either of those occasions".
"I-I'm sorry did y-you just technically me, right now"?
"Rookie, we can't have this conversation in the middle of the hospital".
"Ethan, its early morning, literally no one is here except us, Sahra who is hallways away, and patients who honestly don't care".
"Oh Reed's not here? I thought you two were inseparable"?
"Excuse me? What is that supposed to mean"?
Ethan mentally scolded himself. He was supposed to keep up the act that he didn't care, like he was just her boss but, but his jealousy was slowly taking over.
"My office now Rookie"!
He walked past her not waiting for an answer. When he didn't hear footsteps, he turned to her still standing by her office door. Confliction written upon her face.
"No"? She said shakly not looking at him, keeping her eyes glued to the floor.
"No"? He was so startled he just looked at her his mouth agape. No one ever told him no. Why would they dare he was the Ethan Ramsey after all.
Rina looked up from the ground determination taking over her features.
"No"!
"Excuse me"?
She walked toward him until she was right in front of him. His breath the only warmth in the cold hallway.
"I am your damn colleague Ramsey, I know you are used to belittling people showing your authority. But I know you well enough to know this is not about a patient that I had the audacity to dismiss. So what is this really about".
"D-did you-".
"WHAT".
"Did you s-sleep with him".
She let out a loud mocking laugh. "What if I did"?
She didn't have time to register what was happening before Ethan had had dropped the file and had her pushed up against the cold hallway wall. Leaving fiery kisses down her neck to her collarbone.
"If you did, answer me this, could he make you feel like this".
She leaned her head up against the wall. Cherisheing every kiss. Letting out a small whimper. "Only you can, Ethan".
"Only you".
He looked up meeting her eyes, with a proud smirk.
"Good".
His hands untangled from her hair moving lower. Brushing his finger tips on her hip briefly before continuing lower.
His hand playing with the bottom of her skirt before slipping under.
"Et-".
The hallway suddenly echoed with the sound of sharp stilettos hitting the ground.
"Damn it"! Ethan murmured before removing his hand out under Rina's skirt and moving away from her, picking up the dropped file and acting as if reading it.
"Ethan there you". Harper said as she rounded the corner stoping beside Ethan. Laying a hand on his arm as if he was hers.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were hiding from me".
"Then apparently you don't".
Harpers fake smile slipping before she recomposed herself.
"Um, yes well Ethan you and I have business to discuss, and you Rina, Benjiri needs to see you".
"Well thank you for telling me". Rina snuck a glance at Ethan who was glaring at an oblivious Harper. She had to hold back a laugh when she glanced down to his his evident arousal, which still remained.
Ethan glanced over at Rina giving her a puzzled look before following her gaze down. He quickly moved the file down in attempt to hide it. Harper jumped slightly at the sudden movement.
"Ethan are you alright"?
"Um, yes I'm fine. Thank you".
Rina gave a tight nod to Ethan and Harper before turning in the direction of Naveen's office.
1 Hour Later:
Rina walked down the hall toward Ethan's office in hope of continuing, what they had earlier started. When she heard a breathless Reed call out her name.
She turned in his direction and smiled.
"Hey Rina. I'm glad I caught him. You left your purse at my apartment last night".
"Oh my gosh! Thank you! I can't believe that I never noticed it was gone".
"Yeah, speaking of last night. I had a lot of fun and was wondering if you'd like to have some more fun agian tonight"? Reed asked with a very suggestive smirk.
"Oh I-". Before Rina had the chance to respond his pager went off. "I gotta go, but we'll talk later okay"?
He turned on his heel disappearing around a corner.
She sighed turning, coming face to face with Ethan.
"Oh gosh. Ethan I can-".
"Dr. Ramsey". He corrected as he did that night at his apartment.
"No Ethan nothing happened! Don't go back to this please! Ethan!
The hallway grew quite. Rina looked around at the doctors and nurses that had gathered, watching intently.
She opened her mouth to respond, but not a sound came out. She couldn't stop the tears that poured down her face. Don't do it Rina she told herself but her hands had already taken off her badge.
"Rookie"?

That Never-Ending Witching Hour! (Halloween Event)
{Closed event with @salmonidparty and @robocatandboy}
“OK, just be still for a moment longer, rina...and...done!”
Netalina had just finished styling the Duke Yuuki Yomi’s hair, all in preparation for Halloween. Although, to be frank, she wasn’t quite sure why he wanted this, seeing as they didn’t celebrate Halloween in Vitiu.
“How do I look?” Yuuki asked, swishing his cape dramatically. “Enigmatic and cool?”
“To be honest...you look very cute for a vampire, rina,” Netalina responded, stifling a giggle.
“What?! How am I supposed to catch the detective’s attention if I look cute?!” the Duke snapped. Netalina did her best to keep her composure.
“You say that as if they can’t appreciate cute things, rina. Either way...why did you want to dress up for Halloween, rina? I don’t think the detective is really aware of the celebration, number one...number two, she’s probably really busy tonight, rina. After all, it’s just a regular night here in Vitiu, isn’t it, rina?”
“Don’t ya get it, Netalina? If I look cool and mysterious...she can’t help but fall for me!” He placed his hands on cheeks, blushing, a familiar expression creeping across his face. “Hehehe! I have it in my mind to just drop in unexpected...as the night goes on, I’ll charm her with my mysteriousness and we’ll dance in the moonlight...fufufu!”
“Isn’t she still very much oblivious to how you feel, Duke Yomi?” Netalina asked, no punches pulled.
“S-shut up! Tonight’s the night! The night she’ll fall for me...I’ll make sure of it!” Yuuki huffed, still blushing.
“Besides...won’t it just start snowing once you show up in Guild Town, rina? There’ll be no moon to dance under!”
“Shouldn’t ya be headin’ back home right about now, Netalina?” the Duke hissed incredulously. She wasn’t about to ruin his night.
“Honestly...yes! My friends and I are gonna meet with Nobita, rina!” She smiled at Yuuki. “Gambit and I are a matching pair!”
“Okaaaaay, okaaaay, no need to gloat,” the ice spirit grumbled enviously. As if the Yokai’s earlier wrongdoings were forgotten, Yuuki smiled back at her. “Be safe on your way back!”
“I will! Thanks, rina!” Before Netalina left entirely, she turned back to the Duke. “And good luck, OK?”
“Thank ya.”
~*~★~♥~★~*~
Returning home through the Anywhere Door, Netalina’s first instinct was to go check on her friends. Entering the room, she saw Urien patting Smile down with some kind of white powder. The Ittangomen had chosen a simple, yet...complicated costume this year: he wanted to go as Ittan-Momen from GeGeGe no Kitaro. Though on paper it sounded extremely simple, it was actually quite difficult when your nearly four meter long ittan-momen is yellow in color and wants to be entirely white.
“Are you done yet,” Smile breathed impatiently. It seemed like they’d been at it for a while.
“Nope, sorry. Almost, though. Maybe we should’ve asked Doraemon for help,” Urien responded.
“Probably, this is gonna be fucking hell to get out later,” Smile mumbled.
“Guys, I’m back!” Netalina chirped. This caught the attention of not only Urien and Smile, but also Jizo and Gambit, who were sitting around the room as well.
“Welcome back, my loved one~♪” Gambit sang. He just stared at Netalina for a moment before placing a hand on the mask covering half his face. “Sorry, you can’t tell, but I’m actually winking.”
“You’re such a nerd, rina!” Netalina ran over, jumped into the air, and Gambit caught her. “But you’re my nerd, rina~”
“Speaking of...” Jizo quietly chimed in from his spot. The others looked over at him. “How did it go with the Duke?”
“I dunno, really. He wanted to look cool, but he doesn’t seem to understand that he has an inherent cuteness to him, rina.”
“And then he probably left to go hit on the detective, right?” Smile drawled. “How long do you think it’ll take him to realize that the detective doesn’t feel the same way?”
“I’ll give him a week,” Gambit commented.
“I’ll give him eleven minutes,” Urien laughed. “Now turn around, I’m almost done here, just a little more.”
“I’m so fucking tired of this powder,” Smile sighed, turning back to Urien.
“Dude, how do you think I feel?” Urien patted a bit more powder onto Smile’s nose, then grinned. “Alright, you’re done! Hopefully I won’t need to ride you Kitaro-style tonight, or else we’ll both be covered in this shit.”
“Probably not, right? I mean, tonight we’re just gonna be doing Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai with Nobita and his friends, right?”
“Yup! Maybe we’ll actually finish this year,” Urien hummed. “What even happened last time, do you remember?”
“Not a damn thing,” Smile laughed. He gazed at Urien, then at the others, looking cheerful. “Man, y’know...I actually kind of wish we could interact with Nobita’s friends all the time, not just on Halloween. Suneo and Gian...they could use an attitude adjustment, but...I wouldn’t mind getting to know them better. There’s just no time to do so...”
~*~★~♥~★~*~
As this all went down in the Yokai’s residence, Yuuki was slowly making his way from Mt. Spiral to Guild Town. As he floated through the drifting snow, all by his lonesome, he gazed up at the sky. Naturally, the snow clouds covered any trace of the moon, the only evidence it existed the brightness of the clouds. Yuuki looked down and sighed.
“Netalina really knows how to bring my spirits down, don’t she? It’s not easy confessin’ your love to someone...I really wish the detective liked me, though. Mm...I just wanna hold her in my arms...”
Yuuki put his hands on the sides of his face and sighed dreamily, another blush appearing across his features.
“...I wish I were strong enough to let her know how I feel.”
~*~★~♥~★~*~
“...hhhhuuuuh. Two wishes at once?”
Two long, droopy ears twitched, picking up the sounds of dreams in two different directions. Two hands were held out, grasping two visions of two different worlds. Two legs uncrossed, and two different types of wings fluttered silently in the void.
“...ufufu. I don’t see why not. After all, I’m feeling pretty...generous, tonight. Tonight’s supposed to be lots of fun anyway, isn’t it? Fufufu!”
The Metanomaly took the two illusions in each hand and brought them together, closer, and closer, until they fused into one. The crack underneath his eye lit up momentarily.
“Two wishes. One Abnoreality. Smile, you’ll get to talk to Nobita’s friends for as long as you please. And Duke Yomi, you’ll definitely be able to admit your feelings to the detective!”
Ayume crushed the illusion between his hands, tossing its dust into the air and creating a thick, ethereal fog.
“Have fun...fufufu!”
~*~★~♥~★~*~
The skin sweats, the breath shortens The wind stops, the door opens Hair stands on end, feet freeze The uninvited shall not enter here...
...except for one.
~*~★~♥~★~*~
When Urien awoke, he felt odd. He felt his face. He felt his neck. His sunglasses and scarf were missing...as was his costume in its entirety. Everything was completely white...he had to shield his eyes a bit from how bright it was.
He got up. As he moved, the ground rippled, like water. Urien looked around. Vast white in each direction...except...he saw someone. A black figure against the never-ending white.
“Koukishin to kyoufu ga! ♪ Kawaru gawaru oshiyose! ♪ Naze ni gokan dake ga togisumasareruno? ♪” The figure was singing, slightly gyrating to their own rhythm. Urien made his approach. “Shiranakatta sekai no! ♪ Maku ga jojo ni agaruyo! ♪ Dare mo kiita koto nai, kyousou ga yami ni hibiku~♪”
“Excuse me, but...who are you?” Urien asked.
“Sokonoke, noke, mononoke ga tooru~! ♪” The figure turned around, but before Urien could see their face, they had transformed into him...albeit in his intended Halloween costume. When the figure spoke, it spoke in his voice. “Konoha shigure to tomo ni yatsura arawaru. ♪ I’m Urien Sirius Okuro!”
“...no, you’re not. That’d be me.”
“Uso! ♪” the doppelganger chirped, mirroring Urien’s signature dance. The doppelganger transformed yet again, into a slightly shorter figure, black with multicolored spatters all over. “You’re right! ♪ You’re right! ♪ I’m not Urien, you are! ♪”
“Er...OK. Then, who are you?”
“Oh, I don’t really know. But I know where we are! We’re inside your mind!” Urien tilted his head slightly and making a thinking pose, before the figure began to laugh in a deeper voice and gave him a menacing look. “You’ve been possessed! ♪”
“Ehhhh?!” Urien reeled back in horror. “By what, exactly?!”
“By me!” The figure stuck their tongue out and winked, their voice returning to normal. “You want me to stop? I think I learned plenty already.”
Before Urien could answer, he awoke yet again. This time, he was outside under the moonlight, in a field near a fence. Before him was the figure he’d seen in his mind.
“What the fuck,” Urien breathed, unamused. “Where are we?”
“Oh, now I don’t know. I’m not even sure why I’m here! But I am, I am, I am here! And so are you! And so are all your friends!” The figure twirled and began to sing again. “Sokonoke, noke, mononoke ga odoru~♪ Dare mo kare mo osuki ni odori kurueyo~♪”
“What?! Where are my friends?! What did you do to them?!” Urien cried out, making a gesture as if he were going to grab the figure.
“Hyuu doro doro~♪ Hyuu doro doro! ♪” The figure shook their hands playfully as they danced and pursed their lips. “I didn’t do nothin’! This place is real weird. It’s kinda like a dream. A real big one. Everyone is dreaming.”
“...everyone is dreaming...?” Urien looked up at the moon.
What the hell was going on?

Chapter 11 - Friends
Tags: Friends with Benefits, Angst, Fluff
Summary: You convince Gojo to make up with your best friend and memories from the past come up.
A/N: A wild ex-boyfriend appears! I am finally introducing the character and getting into some backstory. I got some smutty chapters coming up, which I am excited to share because I do love writing sexy Gojo X comments are always appreciated!
- - -
( Three Years Ago)
You cleared the plates in front of you as you made your way back to your kitchen. You packed the meal that you had taken the time to meticulously prepare, including the expensive steaks you bought this morning and the vegetables that you hand picked at the farmer’s market. As you opened the fridge to put away the items, you saw the row of vanilla cupcakes placed neatly on a pan, your shaky handwriting spread across each one that read “ Five Years ” with red hearts decorated on the extras. Suddenly, it all seemed silly how you took the time to prepare a surprise anniversary dinner for your boyfriend. You’ve both been together for so long but you still insisted on making every occasion special.
After you tidied up your dining table, you picked up the wine glass you have been nursing for the last hour and made your way over to your bedroom, where you sat on the chair next to your vanity. You removed the earrings that your boyfriend had bought you for your birthday, your favorite pair because they matched beautifully against your skin, and safely tucked them away in your jewelry box. You were disappointed that you made such a big deal out of tonight, feeling like a sentimental fool as you took a sip of your drink. Haru has been so preoccupied with work lately and the pressure of being in a highly competitive field was getting to him. Of course with the way things have been he wouldn’t remember that tonight was your anniversary dinner. You were trying to be mature about it but you couldn’t ignore that you were hurt. You glanced at your phone, reading 10:45 on the clock before finally giving up on the hope that he would show up.
You removed the dress you were wearing, a bold shade of orange that accentuated your body in all the right places - a dress that he bought you while you both went on a summer trip to Okinawa a few years ago. You changed into something a little more comfortable, throwing on a tank top and some loose lounge pants instead.
You heard your phone ping, a message popping up on the screen from Gojo.
Gojo : How did the dinner go?
You sighed to yourself, before plopping down onto your mattress. You tapped away at the keyboard, erasing each message a few times as you were unsure whether you wanted to vent or give him a brief explanation.
You : It didn’t…I think he’s still at work :(
Gojo : That sucks :\ Well, if you have any leftover cupcakes, I will gladly take them off your hands.
You: Nice try, idiot.
Gojo: I didn’t hear you say I couldn’t have any :)
When you didn’t respond to his message, Gojo followed up with another text that read:
Gojo: You okay?
You: I’m fine, I was just looking forward to tonight. I’ll get over myself. Tell me about your night, you can keep me preoccupied from my disappointment lol
Gojo merely responded with some eye emojis, a cheeky indication as to what he has been up to this evening.
You: At least one of us got some action...what’s her name?
Gojo: No idea, I was too distracted by her legs to care.
You merely rolled your eyes at his comment.
You: It doesn’t take much to get you going, does it?
Gojo: I’m a simple guy, really…
You: …
Gojo: …
You: In WHAT universe?!
Gojo : Pshh, so mean to me all the time :(
You: With reason :)
You smiled when you sent that last text, grateful that Gojo came in at the right time with a distraction. You tried your best not to dwell on the dismal way your evening ended and instead continued to list off the many reasons why the word “simple” and “Gojo Satoru” did not go hand and hand with each other. Your conversation made time fly but that was usually the case whenever you spoke with your friend.
You were so lost in the playfully heated debate you were having, you barely heard the knock coming from your front door.
You abandoned your conversation to see who it was, surprised to find a massive bouquet of flowers greeting you on the other side.
“What…”
Haru peaked from behind the flowers, his sweet smile spreading as he looked at you with sad eyes.
“Happy anniversary!” he chirped, but you could hear the anxiousness in his tone. “ I know I’m late, I know I missed dinner…”
A deep sigh escaped him, as he slightly slumped his shoulders, extending both his hands out to you to pass the bouquet.
“I know this is a meaningless gift in comparison to whatever amazing thing you prepared, I know my efforts don’t even come close to yours, you always put so much care into everything you do. By the time I knew I was late, I was running around the city like a mad man hoping that someone, anyone, would be kind enough to open their shop for me so I would at least not come back empty handed…”
“Haru, take a breath…” you replied, hearing how quickly he was blurting out his words, something he usually did when he was nervous.
You took the bouquet from his hands, admiring the selected assortment of your favorite florals, all picked out by your boyfriend. You traced your fingers along each petal, some a little bruised and you could tell that these flowers were from  the leftovers of the day.
Haru approached you, cupping your face in his hands as he leaned down and planted a kiss on your lips.
“I’m so sorry . None of my excuses justify missing dinner tonight. I swear I am going to make it up to you…”
You tried to calm him down, running your fingers through his light brown hair and taking in every word he said as you remained focused on his hazel eyes. Your heart flutters thinking of him galavanting around the city in his disheveled work suit trying to knock on every florists’ door, a funny anecdote you will surely use against him in the future.
“How do you plan on making it up to me?” You teased, noticing the way his brow raised at your question.
He pulled you closer into him, planting kisses along your neck before he brushed his lips against your ear to say, “I’m taking the weekend off, how does a nice trip to Hakone sound?”
“ Mmm, ideal… ” you replied, clutching the bouquet of flowers as he hugged you, “but if you keep holding me close, you’re going to ruin this lovely gift you bought me…”
“Then I’ll buy you another, and another, and another ...until I’ve given you enough flowers so that you can plant an entire garden,” he kissed you again, his fingers stroking the back of your neck as he pressed his forehead against yours.
“I’m so sorry, baby…” he repeated, his voice wavering slightly from his second apology.
“It’s okay, work comes first. I know you have been busy and probably should have planned our evening with you instead of surprising you. But you’re here now and that's what matters.”
He nodded his head, finally untangling himself from your arms, relieved that you seemed to have forgiven him.
“ I love you so much.”
“ I love you too, Haru .”
You gave him a small smile, tilting your head towards the direction of your kitchen, “It might be too late for dinner but I baked you some cupcakes if you’re up for a little snack…”
Haru removed his blazer, carefully hanging it over his elbow before undoing the first few buttons of his shirt. He held your hand, following your footsteps as you led him into the direction of your kitchen.
“ I can’t wait to try them. ”
( Present)
“ You brought me here under false pretences …” Gojo grumbled, holding himself back as you tugged on his jacket.
It’s been four months since the two of you started hooking up and weeks since he and Rina have even spoken to one another.
After Gojo confessed that she knew about your relationship, you managed to find the time to sit down with your best friend for a heart to heart. The two of you had a ritual which included locking yourselves up in a room with snacks  and drinks until you came to resolve whatever conflict you were dealing with.
“I just don’t understand why you kept this from me,” Rina explained, before taking a sip of the mixed cocktail you both made.
“ You’ve been so overprotective ever since Haru and I broke up…it’s hard for me to talk to you because you start analyzing every little thing I do. Like when I told you I wanted to stop dating for a while, you kept insisting that I was making a mistake because I was running scared…”
“I also know you’re a hopeless romantic, and a few bad dates weren’t fitting this idealised version you have of love…” Rina pressed, “You got lucky with Haru, but diving back into the game takes time and work…”
“I know I was lucky. I know it’s not usual for the first guy you meet to be so… good ,” you replied, that word tasting bitter in your mouth, “But you keep pressuring me into something I am not ready for…”
“That’s not true!”
“Rina, you would take me out on “surprise” double dates when the two of us were just supposed to just be hanging out together. Whenever I talk about Haru, you shut down and change the subject immediately. I can’t even have a night out together without you herding every single eligible male and asking me my opinion…”
Rina sighed, “it sounds way worse when you say it out loud...”
“It’s like you can’t stand that I’m just… a little broken . I let Haru become a part of who I am for five years and losing him feels like I lost a part of me, and I am struggling trying to get that person back. You want me to be okay so badly it’s stopping me from opening up to you…”
Rina inched her way closer as the two of you sat side by side. A sigh escaped her before she spoke, “I’m not good at this…I’m sorry for making you feel that way. I just can’t stand seeing you so hurt. I know that he took a piece of your happiness and I am so angry that he did. I hate that he betrayed your trust, but more so that you haven’t been able to be yourself without him…”
She squeezed your shoulder before giving you a gentle reminder, “but he never defined you. You’re attaching yourself to the love you had for him. And you will find somebody else, somebody better …”
“Maybe but I can’t see myself falling in love again…at least not anytime soon…”
Rina rested her head on your elbow, “I don’t want you to ever think you can’t speak to me…we’ve lasted way longer than all the exes that have walked in and out of our lives…”
You were happy to mend this small fracture, one of the many that has tried to hinder your friendship.
You eventually explained your little arrangement with Gojo, watching Rina’s reaction closely and trying to pull the truth of what she  exactly  said to him.
“I may have thought you were dating, like seriously dating, and told him he wasn’t good enough for you. I am glad to know that you are not. We don’t need to trade one man whore for another…”
You laughed, “Gojo has always made it clear that he has no desire to commit to anyone. I’m not worried. Besides, we can stop our arrangement anytime we are over it.”
“Sooo, when might that be?”
You shrugged your shoulders, “right now, I’m having fun and I think he is too…”
Rina hummed, you could tell she was thinking about something but whatever ran through her mind in that moment she chose to keep to herself.
Even though you and Rina smoothed things over, you realised that neither she or Gojo tried to make an effort to speak to one another. He was avoiding her at all costs while she chose to ignore  the subject entirely. You still had no idea what was said that set those two off but you were over this cold game they were playing.
“Between your inability to handle any confrontation and her stubborn attitude, you two are going to drag this on for way longer than it needs to be…” you lectured.
You paused when you arrived at her store, staring up at Gojo with pleading eyes. “I don’t like being the reason why you two aren’t speaking… please just talk to her…”
Gojo whined, “throw it on my conscience instead, that way you have no reason to feel guilty…”
You furrowed your brows before letting go of him, but a thought passed your mind which gave you an idea, “Remember that thing you brought up the other night? Your little roleplaying idea…”
Gojo arched his brows from underneath his blindfold, surprised that you were even bringing this up. “ Yes… ”
You smirked, stepping closer to him without actually touching him at all. “If you do this for me then I'll happily return the favor…”
His eyes widened, his heart racing slightly as a wave of excitement rushed through him.
You could see he was contemplating your offer, finally scoffing in defeat. “You know saying no to you was a lot easier when you weren’t bribing me with sex…” he grumbled, as he begrudgingly walked passed you.
“You did tell me once that you were a man of simple taste…”
“And I vividly remember you disagreeing with me.”
“Thank you!” You called out watching him reach the handle of the entrance door.
“Just know I am expecting you to hold up your end of the deal,” he replied before making his way inside.
***
Gojo sat at the counter, the awkward silence hung heavy in the air as Rina waited for him to break the tension. When that didn’t happen, she sighed to herself before storming to the backroom of her shop.
Gojo waited for her return, his eyes widening when she finally reappeared with something in her hands.
“ I’m sorry for how I spoke to you,” she said, bowing in his direction and handing him some treats.
“Aww, Rina-chan, how did you know kikufuku was my favorite?” Gojo questioned, his tone softening his sweet words as he held the packet between his fingers.
“I heard it through the grapevine…”
Gojo couldn’t hide his pleasured grin.
You were always so considerate of everyone, going above and beyond to make them happy and paying close attention to the things they liked the most. You must have already spoken to Rina before he came here, playing the role of matchmaker between friends.
Rina definitely noticed his response.
“Thank you,” he replied as he opened up the packet, “I know your anger was coming from a protective place. I don’t fault you for it. Besides, you and I can happily agree on one thing…”
“What’s that?”
Gojo smirked, “she’s too good for me…”
Rina swallowed hard, mainly because of how sincere that statement actually sounded.
“I care about her…”
Gojo hummed to himself, taking a bite of the sweet snack. “And you think I don’t?”
“Can I be honest?”
“ Please. ”
“I am not questioning your care for her, I am questioning what your intentions are. I won’t apologize for not trusting you.  You promised me after she broke up with Haru that you wouldn’t make a move on her but here we are now…”
“I kept my promise.”
“You found a loophole…”
“It’s been three years…she’s allowed to move on.”
“Yes she is…”
“You know, I was surprised by how angry you got at her for keeping us a secret, especially since we both know that there are plenty of things you’re hiding from her right now. Then I started thinking that it wasn’t the secret that was bothering you, you just don’t want her moving on with me…”
Rina averted her gaze, completely surprised by how easily Gojo read her.
“Like I said, I don’t trust you…”
He leaned forward to rest his elbows on the counter, “What did Haru tell you exactly?”
“Why are you asking?”
“I just want to know if you’re still adamant on convincing yourself that I am the bad guy or if you would like to know what actually happened between us…”

I couldn't sleep, thanks to my insomnia and the fear that the silence would follow me if I went to bed. I'm a ghost of a girl That I want to be most I'm the shell of a girl That I used to know well I glare at the chest across the room hatefully anyone would be proud of this chest it was filled with my gold medal and trophies it even had folders of my awards certificates, but for me, it was only a reminder. A reminder that I was the shell of who I once was. When being alone didn't bother me. The ghost of a girl that I wanted to be again. My ADHD was pounding my skull, I was in the same position in the same place for too long. I was getting fidgety and needed to do something. Glancing at the old dance trophy that peeked under the lid of the chest I sighed, I guess some things never do change. Dancing slowly in an empty room Can the lonely take the place of you I sing myself a quiet lullaby I slowly move my body gracefully to a quiet lullaby my mom used to sing to me. Now I sing it to myself as I dance away the thoughts of loneliness taking my place in my own body, consuming my very being. Let you go and let the lonely in To take my heart again Times like this I can let go, not having to worry about my emotions diverting my attention from my responsibilities. I can wallow in my hopelessness and sort out the bottled up emotions. It was long overdue anyway. My mind drifted back to my grandmother's words "You have PhDs, trophies, medals, and degrees that they don't even know about. Use them to get out of here!" "The only ones who would notice and care would be Jason, Timothy, and Alfred. Stop letting him dictate what happens in your life. You're his daughter not his clone and you're a grown adult!"  Was she right? Did she need to leave? Could she leave? I have no doubt that my family loves me with the exception of Damian however, I couldn't just abandon them, could I? They would care if I left, right? -- Too afraid, to go inside For the pain of one more loveless night After a long day at Wayne Enterprises, Lerina was having difficulties deciding on whether she should enter her own home. She lived there for over 17 years she should be used to the feeling of dismissal, it wasn't the first time he had planned a mission on someone's birthday. Even though her birthday wasn't for a few days, the fact that she would spend another celebration alone made her furious and a bit bitter. Sure her siblings spent their birthdays mostly fighting crime but at least they were together while she spent her's with Alfred and her grandmother. Not that she didn't love them but spending time with senior citizens should not be the highlight of her day. It was pathetic. Finally, she decided to go inside making her way up to the living room. A  smile grew on her face when she looked around. The entire room was covered with balloons, streamers, banners and more. It was entirely painted with silvers, blues, purples, and gold her favorite colors. Her grey orbs landed on the people responsible for the glorious surprise, Alfred and Leilei whom she had suspected to be there but Jason and Tim were too. Tears welled up in her eyes her bags plummeted to the ground, "you guys," her voiced cracked as she was pulled into a hug by her brothers. "Happy early Birthday big sis!" "Happy Birthday starlight." "¡ Feliz cumpleaños pajarito!" "Happy Birthday Miss Lerina." She gleamed at her family's cheers, "Thank you guys" she wiped her tears, "but I thought you had to go on patrol tonight?" "We do," Tim answered freeing his older sister from his grip, "but since we're going to be gone in a few days we ditched," Jason clarified with a rebellious smirk. "Unfortunately the rest of the family couldn't make it Miss Lerina," Alfred said with regret in his in tone. "They left gifts though," Tim butted in not giving Lerina an opportunity to frown, "Even Cassandra left one." Cassandra, she normally just gave her a card why would she give me a gift, Lerina thought. Catching her confusion Jason said, " She saw that you were looked down and decided to give you one." It made sense Cassandra could pick up on those sort of things with her unique body reading ability. "Enough chatter let's eat so we can dig into the cake in the kitchen and Lerina can open her presents!" Leilei exclaimed rushing the group. -- For the loneliness will stay with me And hold me till I fall asleep That was how I spent my night that day, happy with the people I care about. But that was a few days ago with today being my birthday everyone was on a mission as planned by the dark knight himself. Having enough of dancing I lay in my bed my bed trying to fall asleep as another memory fills my head. -- I'm a ghost of a girl That I want to be most I'm the shell of a girl That I used to know well "LERINA!" She jumped at her father's booming voice, "Yes?" she questioned poking at her food. It was 2 days after her little surprise party, only 3 days until her birthday so Bruce decided to give everyone a break to have a family dinner.  Kamalei could be very persuasive when she needed to be, "I've been struggling to get your attention for the past five minutes." "My apologies, my mind was elsewhere," she received strange looks from her family but they were overlooked as she continued, "What were we talking about?" "tch," Damian expressed his annoyance gaining the attention of the family, "It's no wonder you're not allowed to join us on patrol," he sneered, "you're too much of a scatterbrain to even watch the monitors. It's a miracle how you've persisted long enough to make it 25 much less run the company without destroying it. A phenomenon really." "DAMIAN!" "MASTER DAMIAN!" her father and butler scolded, Lerina let out a frustrated sigh but ultimately ignored her youngest brother's offensive comment. "Rina is not a scatterbrain," Dick ranted, "Her brain just works differently and there's nothing wrong with that. She's fully capable of handling herself and the company.  She has 15 years of experience and has been taking care of us, you included for 17!" "Let's not forget who saved you from getting suspended last week demon," Jason joined snarkily resuming his meal, "You should show some respect." "Lerina absence has nothing to do with her disabilities her skills are needed here outside of our nightly pursuits," informed Bruce sternly still angered by his blood son's outburst. "Also saying that because she has ADHD is the reason why she's not a vigilante is just as bad as saying Cassandra is a bad one because she has dyslexia," Tim added "Cain, has a usual skill that contributes to our cause Drake," Damian hissed at the former robin's response, "Oh so helping us keep our identities a secret isn't contributing then," he argued. Cassandra just shook her head, it was obvious this wasn't going to end well, "Damian that was-" "This doesn't concern you, Cain," the blood son interrupted, "Perhaps if she-" "OKAY! THAT'S ENOUGH," Lerina intervened she had grown tired of the arguing, "Thank you all for defending me and thank you, Damian, for that fascinating input but can we please for once try to have a pleasant family dinner?!" Dancing slowly in an empty room Can the lonely take the place of you I sing myself a quiet lullaby "Oh yes, mother bird we sure can," Tim replied smugly with a cheeky grin, "Sorry mother hen we didn't mean to ruffle your feathers," Dick teased, Lerina sighed as a rupture of laughter emitted from the table until it dialed down; Bruce picked up on the conversation and said, "To bring us back to the topic at hand we were discussing the mission since we'll be leaving tonight Kathy Kane, Duke Thomas, Stephanie Brown, Barabra Gordan, and Terry McGinnis will patrol over Gotham in our place." Another sigh escaped Lerina's lips, "Only you would bring crime to a normal family dinner." Let you go and let the lonely in To take my heart again "A shame we will miss your birthday Oriel," Damian cooed at his older sister, "Something much more important than you corrupted our schedule, pity." "Master Damian that is enough," Alfred scolded, "It's fine Alfred," she replied coolly," who'd want to spend their special day with the spawn of Satan anyway." Enraged Damian threw his knife directly at her face but before any could react Lerina caught and thrown it back at him just barely missing his head. "Just because I don't act upon those skills doesn't mean I don't have them," she said darkly before uttering a quick 'excuse me' leaving the dining room with her plate. -- Broken pieces of "YOU CAN'T HAVE HER BRUCE! YOU WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF HER!!" "Ms. Oriel, I know why you hate me but I'm her father, just give me a chance she deserves to know who I am at least," Bruce pleaded desperately with her Kamalei hoping for a positive answer. "NO, NEVER!" Kamalei shrieked in response to his begging, Lerina was 8 years old when she burrowed underneath the stairway listening to her father and grandmother bicker and fight over her as if she was a doll. -- A barely breathing story It wasn't the last time she heard her two guardians fought over her either, it took months for Kamalei to let her go. "I promise you, you will be happy here," Bruce spoke tenderly to his daughter he sounded like he was trying to prove to himself more than his child. "Why didn't mommy tell you about me," Lerina questioned, "I don't know," he answered honestly kneeling in front of his long lost daughter. Now at eye level with her, he continued, "What I do know is that she would be very happy we found each other and I will take very good care of you." -- Where there once was love "Come listen to the song I learned," Lerina said excitedly not noticing the young man her father had brought home, "It was originally made for violin but I was able to play it on piano!" He chuckled kissing his excited little girl on the forehead, "Let's take a rain check on that song, right now I want to introduce you to Richard Grayson." The boy waved at the girl when he was introduced," You can call me Dick." Lerina waved back she had seen him on the news earlier that day, "My name is Lerina Oriel-Wayne and I am your new sister." She began to pull the boy upstairs with her, "Let's go decorate your room, you'll right at home in no time!" Bruce smiled seeing his daughter taking in Dick so naturally, it warmed his heart. "Everything is going be okay I lost my mom when I was young it gets better. It doesn't feel like it now but it will," she said pulling him into a hug,. "Rina" "huh," she questioned not sure what he meant by that. "Can I call you Rina," he whispered smiling when she said yes. -- "What's the matter? Why are you crying JayJay," Lerina questioned the little boy who had climbed into her bed one stormy night. "I'm not crying," he clarified pouting, "I just wanted to make sure you're okay." With a warm smile, she lifted the covers to her bed, "Come on then, I need someone to protect me during this stormed," she swallowed a chuckled when he dove under the covers clinging to her body, "Goodnight Jason." -- "Tim it's not your fault,' she stated trying to soothe the child who was curled up in a ball in the farthest corner in his room. "They died, big sis! They are dead because I wasn't fast enough," Tim sobbed, "I was supposed to save them and I let them die!!" She scooped him up in her arm and rocked him side to side, "It's not your fault." "Bu-" "Did kidnap those hostages? Did you set up those bombs," Tim shook his head in response, "Then it is not your fault Timmy." He stayed silent taking in her words, " Let's go to sleep, I'll sing you a lullaby." For the first time, Timothy Jackson Drake slept the entire night away, what was left of it. -- Now there's only me "Go away, Rina!" Dick growled hearing knock on the door once again, "No Dick, I know you're blaming yourself for his death but it is not your fault!" "I should've been there for him." "There's nothing we can do about it now, why don't we just-" "JUST LEAVE IT LERINA! I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU AND I DON'T WANT YOUR PITY!!" Tears falling down his face, Dick slumped on his bed head in his hands as her retreating footsteps. -- "Jason please this isn't you," she begged as the man she practically raised held her hostage just to get back at his adoptive father, "This is me, maybe you should get to know your brothers more before you start begging for your life," he taunted smugly. Being held captive by the Arkham knight in a dingy abandoned apartment building is not how you want to spend your Saturday but when can they Waynes get a break. "Jason, I do know you and you know deep down that they loved and cared for you. If you can't believe that then you at least know I did, remember let you into their bed when you had a nightmare?" "SHUT UP," he screamed and shot her in the leg, "You're only making this worse for yourself and I don't want to hurt you." "You couldn't have said that before you shot me in the leg," she replied sarcastically trying to get her mind off the pain, "Is there any way I can convince you to come home?" He glanced at her before redirecting his attention to a window, "No." "I see," she let out a sigh, "I love you Jason and I'm sorry." "Sorry for wh-" the night sky was the last thing he saw before everything turned black. -- "I wouldn't expect someone like you understand so please just leave me alone, I will go to sleep later," Tim grumbled typing swiftly on the keyboard striving to finish this case. He didn't even realize what he said. Lerina was always disregarded because of her disability, some even assume she can't understand the simplest tasks, hearing from family broke her heart. -- And the lonely "Lerina, I rely on you to take care of these matters without me so I can focus on more important tasks," Bruce grumbled annoyed at the paperwork that was stacked on his desk. "I'm sorry father but some of the paper and decisions need to be signed and made by the CEO of Wayne Enterprise himself and not his shoo-in or else it won't get done, unless you give me permission, " Lerina explained "Nevermind, I'll do it myself you can go," he dismissed her, "Oh and can you dress in something nice tonight I need you to impress a business partner." "Of course" -- Dancing slowly in an empty room Can the lonely take the place of you Dick and I used to be very close, of course, we were he was my first baby brother. We were together the longest it was natural for us. I don't know what happened throughout the years, we just stopped. Soon Jason and Tim came along but Jason doesn't stay at the manor unless it's truly necessary and Tim gets too caught up with his work. Bruce and I haven't been close in years and it's far too late to fix it now. Damian practically hates me more than he hates Tim. Cassandra and I just never clicked, we never had a chance to really.  I had made my decision, I had made it long ago. I didn't even need to pack. -- I sing myself a quiet lullaby "Welcome back young masters, Miss Cassandra," Alfred spoke formally to the returning family, it had been a week, the mission had gone relatively smoothly but it had tired them out. "Good to be back Alfred," Dick spoke with a smile as they slumped on the couch. Something was off but they couldn't tell what. The answer was there but just out of reach but whatever off seemed to put a tense mood in the atmosphere. It was eerily quiet, they decided to focus their attention on a task to distract themselves. The silence was broken when the third Robin spoke up, "Where's Lerina? -- Let you go and let the lonely in I left my phone and my car at home, I didn't want to have anything that they could track when I reached my destination. "I need a place to lay low for awhile just until I make up my mind on where I'm going."  "Took you long enough to leave those assholes." Lerina smiled stepping through the door. Her new life began now. To take my heart again
