Heart of Stone: PrinceLover St. Valentine's Special (Part 3)
A/N: everything goes according to plan <3 beware of the angst though...
Pairing: PrinceLover (Agatha and Jasper)
WC: 1387
Warnings: mentions of death and the same hopeless feeling from the 2nd part...
[Part 1] [Part 2]
-----
Jasper dreamt again of the night he was turned into a Statue. It was a peaceful night, a summer -no, not summer, Thae, it was the second month of Thae- breeze blowing every now and then, creating a melody when passing in between the tree leaves.
The Witch was in front of Jasper, right in the middle of the interior garden. The King and the Queen (once upon a time referred to as Father and Mother, but not anymore) watched from afar, as if they were supervising that everything went along correctly. Drae wasn’t even there, and Jasper knew it was because it said more about her if she wasn’t.
He could imagine the comments of the maids and then butlers and guards the next morning: “Poor Princess, couldn’t even manage to say goodbye to her dear brother. The pain she carries is so big!”
All lies, of course. But again, all unimportant.
He locked eyes with the King in his dream: brown eyes meeting silver. His pleading and a little scared. A lot scared, actually. How could they allow this to happen? Even for the best of Cheasya?
His father’s eyes reflected nothing, as if he were watching a boring play, or staring towards a white wall, waiting for paint to dry. Unforgiving and uncaring. Just as Jasper always remembered them.
They seem to say: We do not care. Not about you. Never about you. You are just another pawn, another piece in the table that means ruling Cheasya. We do this for the Kingdom, but most importantly, for our own benefit.
Never for yours.
And yet, even if Jasper now wanted to scream at them, wanted to refuse doing this, wanted to leave (he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t. It would mean not being alive now, not meeting Agatha, not escaping his family), that Jasper just wanted to be a good son, a good Heir, a good person.
So the Witch started chanting and the world turned white and gray, the stars vanishing. The Stars also vanished.
His last coherent thought was about how, if he wasn’t being cursed right now, he’d be staring at the night sky, admiring his kingdom, falling in love with life again. It didn’t matter. He was a piece of marble.
He was awake now, and with the realization of being conscient, the pain returned. It was as if he were burning, flesh unable to breathe, covered by stone again. It was slower and painful and nothing like how the Witch did it. It was torture.
Agony.
He grunted again, his thighs being constricted by the stone, forgetting how to breathe, how to move, how to think. There was only pain, only suffering.
This is how I die. The only coherent thought he could half muster. This is how I die.
Then, a cold hand pressing against his cheek. It was wet. Why was it wet? Had he been crying? His eyes focused on the figure above him: he was not crying but Agatha was. Eyes swelled by tears, tears running through her cheeks, landing on his face. A look of sorrow.
She was scared, he could tell. Jasper couldn’t let her be scared. Not now.
“Hey,” he whispered, and smiled a little, ignoring the pain, ignoring the feeling of being an ember.
“Jas,” her voice was broken and she was sobbing, heartbroken. A sadness he couldn’t ease. A problem he couldn’t solve. “What’s happening to you?”
But he couldn’t answer that, aside from an unhelpful “I’m turning to stone again. It’s more painful than last time. I don’t know how to stop it.”
This is how I die. If this is how I die, then-
So he picked up her hand, with all the energy he could gather. He couldn’t lift his own arm now. Their fingers grazed and then touched and then both hands were intertwined in the other.
“Stay with me,” he pleaded. He wanted to speak at a normal level but all that left his mouth was barely a whisper. Did Agatha hear him? She must’ve had, because her grip on his hand tightened, her weight lowered until she was sitting on the foot of his bed.
With her other hand, Agatha lifted his hair, plastered to his forehead. It felt nice to be cared for like that before passing. It felt like a treatment he wasn’t supposed to have, wasn’t supposed to deserve.
“How can I be worthy of this?”
“You need to stop thinking like you don’t need basic treatment,” she berated and that was much better than to see her cry, to glance at the decided look on her eyes, at her stubborn frown he loved to erase, to listen to her words, addressing him and telling him how he was not a failure- “... Are you listening to me?”
“Love, I think-”
“Don’t,” Agatha silenced him. “If you are going to say what I think you are going to say, don’t. We can’t give up yet: Imara and Kit went somewhere to search for something to make this all go away, and-” She paused, swallowed tears again, looked up to stop them from falling again. “You are going to be fine.”
It was the certainty of her words that filled him with hope. Such a strange feeling, a warmth inside his body, dreaming that everything will turn out to be okay. That he would recover and maybe they would make plans tomorrow or she would stay for longer that evening (oh, how he wished she would stay longer…)
“Cerad visited you again this morning?”
Agatha nodded. “Before Imara came and we arrived here I was talking to her… About you,” She frowned, like it was difficult for her to remember the conversation they had, only a few hours ago. “She said that our souls were-”
But the next word was replaced with a gasp: It had been easy to ignore, or not to perceive at first, the tingling feeling on the tips of her fingers, the hand that was firmly locked to Jasper’s.  Now the feeling was abrasive: a cold sensation covering every single nerve termination, just above the cuticles, as if she was permanently holding ice, or were brushing a full blizzard.
She set free the hand and held it at eye level, at first unable to give an explanation to the pain, the feeling. It downed on her hard, like the world had fallen on top of her shoulders unexpectedly:
The pads of her fingers, almost covering completely the nails of the middle, index and ring finger were turning white, skin at the edge in deep purple. It reminded of the time Kit has covered his hands with plaster, after a crazy idea he had of working with clay and making sculptures.
Jasper’s eyes were focused on her fingers as well, every single oxygen particle had left his body, as well as the color from his face.
He called her name at the same time she called his. A whisper of warning, a cry for help, a beg, even if there was nothing neither of them could do. Both of them, affected by a curse they didn’t know about this morning or yesterday. Both of them, turning to stone in his bedroom, completely away from the world.
Above from the Azure, the Stars were watching The Prince and The Lover, huddled together as they transformed.
Hailmya turned to Arei.
“How much more?” She had been against this from the start, but they had outvoted her.
“We have to make sure,” the Star of Guidance replied, but she could see how Arei was not happy about this either.
“But what if they never… What if they turn all the way?”
“Hailmya,” Cerad cut her off gently. “Their friends would not let that happen, you know that.”
“They won’t be able to find anything to reverse my magic. I also know that.”
Arei closed his eyes, and then turned away from the scene. It pained him to watch this, no matter how necessary for their own existence and safety was. “We can only hope for them to realize the only way to break the spell sooner than later.”
The world stilled, as if it were holding its breath, watching the young couple. A test, designed and conducted by the Stars: cruel and unforgiving.

Sasaki and Hirano, Compare/Contrast Brainrot
Okay like I saw a post about Sasaki and Hirano’s friendship and I just. Started thinking about it and now I can’t stop. Especially after reading Hirano to Kagiura.
I feel like they’re messed up (repressed is probably what I actually mean) in the same way but in opposite directions and that’s why they like…get along, but in the strangest manifestation of that phrasing? They care about each other almost from a periphery, from the vantage point of someone who understands, but, since they’re also still figuring it out, they don’t know quite how to interact with or guide the other?
And it’s killing me because--idk if it was just me--I kept going feral over every single time I was reading the manga and Hirano would go “oh yeah I do [insert fuckign batshit intimacy] with my roommate, this is a normal senpai/kouhai thing to do” and Sasaki literally always reacts with:
“.” (Huh. I don’t think that’s normal but who am I to judge these things. Let’s ask the local social barometer.)
“Hey Hanzawa, this [reiterates what Hirano said word-for-word] isn’t normal is it?” (Translation: “this would be inappropriate to do with Mya-chan even though I’m clawing at the walls just thinking about it”)
And Hanzawa, bless his heart, who is only a fraction more normal about social interaction than everyone else is just like:
“.” [W H A T]
“Sasaki, what. Of course you shouldn’t be doing that. W H Y ARE YOU ASKING ME THIS”
AND THIS HAPPENS MANY TIMES IN THE SPAN OF TWENTY CHAPTERS. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH THE HILARITY BUT ALSO CONCERN IT INSPIRES TO WATCH.
More detailed analysis under the cut, I just can’t stop laughing at the way the manga compares them:
Sasaki fascinates me because, as I take stock again, it feels like he’s got this dread when it comes to change (e.g. Ogasawara and his gf dating--thus changing his relationship with both of them, asking Miyano out--risking losing him, confessing that he’s dating a boy to his sister--risking her enduring and fervent disapproval). So much of his younger teenage angst was related to being reluctant to start or do things, and while it’s easy to assume laziness, I don’t think that’s the case? He says in the manga: “There’s nothing I can do, so how am I supposed to know what I want to do then…?” I get a sense that this trapped feeling contributes to his dissatisfaction and stasis more than a refusal to do anything at all. I don’t think he lacks capacity; he’s proven to be exceptionally clever and even studious when he feels motivated.
Considering the lack of interest his parents had in his life (let alone his hobbies/skills) and his sister’s overbearing scrutiny, I feel like it makes sense he’s struggled so much with his self-actualization. I feel like he perceives it as being caught between hot and cold extremes constantly; like no matter what he does, he’ll either receive indifference or loud chastising. So why bother at all? It would explain why he likes Miyano’s temperament so much, considering the latter quite literally is defined by his normalcy and even keel. When Sasaki wants to move forward in their relationship, Miyano seriously considers both their feelings, and thoroughly weighs the realities of what it would mean to be together before replying. While Sasaki wants to be closer to him, I think so much of his willingness to wait was the fact that Miyano wasn’t evading him. Miyano was being honest and thorough about meeting him halfway, without insulting his feelings or flat out ignoring him.
(Side note: I fully agree that Sasaki’s sister is a positive influence in his life, in that she actually gave a damn when he was downspiraling and miserable, and pointed out that all kids need limits and guidance. But she is loud and forceful about her acknowledgement, and I feel like this is very grating to Sasaki. For better or worse, it’s clear he has a hard time with such a direct and intense approach about what he should think and feel, and about what he needs. Sasaki shows indications of a kind of mindset where he thinks he needs to shoulder all the tough and heavy things alone, so it makes sense to me that he would be uncomfortable with his sister proclaiming how he is lost or bereft of attention/discipline.)
I think there’s also the fact that Miyano witnessed Sasaki at his most vulnerable--and instead of lashing out--offered him help and sympathy, real warmth and patience. Sasaki has always meant a lot to me as a character, maybe because he resonates in such a poignant way. He’s somebody who has lived under such emotional extremes, and as a result deeply values a sense of normalcy. Where one could argue Miyano is unassuming and ordinary, I think that’s part of why Sasaki likes being with him.  With Miyano, he doesn't have to guess at the distance between them; Miyano is earnest and careful about those differences, and is very direct about addressing them with reciprocity.
Now then, Hirano. I know very little about Hirano’s home life other than his being an only child. But to be honest, that does tell us a bit--paired with his subtle social anxieties. I will never forget Sasaki saying to Miyano ‘that’s because Hirano plays favorites with his kouhais’ about the gap between his behavior towards his younger classmates versus everyone else. While Sasaki’s petulance is uproarious, there is something to that. (I also love how this exposes Sasaki, lowkey, because he’s basically saying that he’d only do that with his favorite people, aka Miyano. But otherwise he could never be bothered to care about a rando, and that’s hilarious.)
I think Hirano--because he doesn’t really have a sense of how he’s supposed to relate to other people--tends to follow the same strict guidelines you might see in a rule book (DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE COUGH COUGH). Supposing he was taught--or simply feels responsibility towards younger kids as a result of reflective parental neglect--it would explain why he feels this rigid need to treat kouhais like little siblings. At first glance, and honestly when you consider his general aloofness, it doesn’t make much sense that he has a mothering sensibility otherwise.
Now then, because I realized this while writing and I have to inflict this on everyone else in rapid succession, this would explain his initial staunch discomfort with Kagiura’s affection. In the context of Hirano’s lifestyle/mindset:
Hirano → relationships with people? Don’t understand that, refer to following flowchart:
→ younger = responsibility, must protecc
→ same age = keep them in line
→ older = respect (but only if I feel like it HAIR DYE NOISES INTENSIFY)
Mind you, I don’t think this is limited to his platonic/friendship relations. I think this permeates into so many other aspects of his life, since sociality is inevitably a focal point for all human life. If he feels an uncharacteristic leniency and profound affection for Kagiura, then it must be because he's a kouhai he wants to protect, nothing more. He has no other reason or definition by which to ascribe to those feelings. Hirano doubly insisting he can’t be attracted to men is because he’s been so inundated in the widespread social signals, the social rule that has been long standing--and remains a pretty powerful message even now--that it’s unlikely (and that’s a gentle term) he’s attracted to another man.
After all, He is So Good At Being A Normal Young Man. He’s in the discipline committee. He gets excellent grades. He’s a kind and helpful senpai. He keeps his classmates in line. Of Course He Likes Women, What Do You Mean Gay.
He’s basically that meme like: “'Men can be attracted to other men' actually statistical error. Average men only feel attraction for women. Sasamiya is an outlier and should not be counted."
Both Hirano and Sasaki hate change/unpredictability, but I really love how complex their differences are in regards to how they experience that and feel that. Sasaki hates change, but he’s not necessarily emotionally repressed? He’s able to express what he feels for Miyano because he feels it so strongly, and it comes naturally when he does. In fact, it’s so natural that he becomes impulsive--and that’s why he gets so anxious about moving too far or too fast by accident. He has the overthink override, where if the attraction is too strong he simply Can’t Shut Up About How Much He Loves Miyano or stop hugging/kissing him.
Hirano hates change in the sense that he’s so ensconced in this idea that This Is Normal Human Behavior, that he completely loses sight of how he actually feels about anything--because he rejects/suppresses anything he can’t coherently define in a scripted, linear way. And being asked to tread that unstable, unsteady ground is tantamount to throwing a cat in water with no warning. This is why it’s so sad but also HYSTERICALLY FUNNY to see him like “wym I have feelings for Kagiura. It's perfectly normal to start yelling with all the wounded rage of a scorned housewife over my kouhai not letting me wake him up for morning practice. That is what it means to be a senpai.” Because he has no blueprint for how he’s supposed to express a love that goes deeper than friendship (with a man no less), he defaults to these overly simplistic structures that can’t support the complexity/maturity of such adult human feeling and exchanges. They worked for him just fine before, so why won’t they work for him now?
Relegating Kagiura to the role of kouhai makes it easier for Hirano to conceptualize why he cares so much for him, but it also limits the scope of his view. He’s using it as an umbrella term in a sense: of course he doesn’t find every little thing about Kagiura infuriating/boring/troublesome. Being the older person means being responsible and chill about everything. But that’s the thing. He’s not indulging Kagiura the same way he indulges Miyano, despite him qualifying them the same way. With Miyano it’s super clear Hirano really does just see him as a baby duckling, someone to treat gently and usher around. His behavior around Kagiura is so astronomically different in comparison, it’s nearly comical to try to compare them:
It’s Kagiura’s birthday. Hirano, who probably hardly remembers people’s birthdays, deadass went around asking every person he was close to (like, 5 ppl) for advice. He agonized over it for days on end. He gets Kagiura tickets to a basketball game and an alarm clock, and spends the entire day with him. He asks Hanzawa if he can use party poppers to celebrate Kagiura on the day of, and to get around the rules when he’s told no he has everyone go hog wild with them at the Christmas party in a loophole maneuver to celebrate. Reminder to myself and everyone reading, this is BEFORE he even hears a word about Kagiura’s feelings.
THIS IS BEFORE EITHER OF THEM ARE IN ANY KIND OF INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP. HIRANO, WHO IS MR. “i only study or drag people to baby jail, what do you want,” SPENT ENTIRE DAYS PAINSTAKINGLY PLANNING ALL OF THIS. FOR KAGIURA’S BDAY. AFTER ONE OFFHAND COMMENT FROM KAGIURA OF LIKE mannnn having an xmas bday sucks ass, they just try to lump it tg with holiday presents booooo :///
That Hirano conceptualizes Kagiura as a kouhai has been established. But another angle that’s equally crucial is this equation:
Hirano → adore person? Devote Every Minute To Being Nice^TM
→ hate person? angry cat hissing sounds/smack with paper roll
→ mild dislike? Lowkey grousing/sarcasm/dismissal
→ neutral? (this is most people btw) refer to earlier chart for appropriate social etiquette
This is pretty much where Hirano gives himself away. Because even in his most inflexible rules for himself, we’ve never seen him convey so much feeling for anyone around him so helplessly. It can be argued that he might have in the past, but honestly, I doubt it. The feeling is so confusing and new to him that it leads me to believe so much of his difficulty accepting what he feels is related to its unfamiliarity. He can’t trust it as real precisely because he can’t control or neatly define it. (This made doubly disconcerting by the fact that he doesn’t have a typical social structure to work from either. If his parents, for instance, are anything like Hanzawa’s, it’s possible his conception of love between a couple is about devotion to remain together to fulfill a sense of status/purpose to create a new life. He would have zero concept of love that comes from the very depths of a person’s emotional being, a call and response that is as instinctive as it is fulfilling.)
Sasaki feels an intense desire to be close to Miyano, and thus acts accordingly because he trusts his feelings. On the other hand, he has trouble measuring the distance between himself and others. (e.g. he thinks he will lose his friends if they date, his sister acts like a parent but is also a kid and that makes it hard for him to know how to interact, he struggles to convey himself properly to Miyano when he brings up escalating to dating). Hirano, on the other hand, doesn’t realize the intensity of his affection and heartfelt proximity to Kagiura because he’s so busy tying himself up in knots over what he’s supposed to feel and think that he doesn’t trust his feelings. Rather, he is only given away by how obscenely his actions expose him. Comparatively, he has less trouble measuring the distance between himself and others when it comes to anyone but Kagiura.
(Perhaps obviously, Kagiura has Sasaki’s whole ‘if I don’t hug/kiss/bark at him I’ll die’ emotional expression and Miyano has the cautious measuring of distance between people and difficulty accepting gay like Hirano.)
God they’re both so quintessentially queer it hurts me. One can’t shut up about his love, and the other literally cannot open his mouth and express his feelings or he’ll die.
NARRATIVE FOILS EVERYONE

You’re surrounded by family
Better quality details under the cut because you can’t even see all my favorite bits like the sign on the inn that says “Izzy’s” 🥲 image compression on this website is!!! Yikes.
Anyway this is what season 3 will be like David Jenkins told me personally. The found family can be a chill little crew at their dads’ place, as a treat🫡

Thank you for posting all those gifs of Mobius being kind and supportive together. I've seen some takes about Mobius deserving it, but logically it doesn't make sense. He's already doing everything he can to save the timelines. He doesn't want to know his past, nor does he need to know to be motivated to save the timeliness, because he's already been doing since ep 1. Even if we make the argument he has no real free will until he sees his past, this argument is disingenuous because he's using his free will NOT to see it. From a narrative and character development standpoint, he will be forced to see it for the audience's entertainment, because he is a fictional character with no free will-- the screenwriters are the gods (Time Authors, if you will).
In-narrative, you could make a case he should see his timeline if he were actively trying to keep the TVA the way it was, but that's not the case with him. Sylvie's accusations this fall flat.
Mind, I'm not against Sylvie's proposition to start from scratch. Revolutions are important and serve that function. But the TVA is the only organization with people who know how the Loom and timespace work. It's not unreasonable for them to try to stabilize the situation, save the lives of as many timeliness as they can, and consider dismantling the TVA entirely and starting from scratch later.
Since we're dealing with time paradoxes, it's possible that the collapse of the Loom is what causes Loki to recruit Mobius, B-15, and Casey (I'm not sure what kind of entity OB is?) from their timelines. If they all accept, then Loki was the original creator of the Heart of the TVA. It's possible HWR took over at some point in the future and wiped everyone's memories then. The future influenced the past, thus closing the time loop. If this is the case, then Sylvie also contributed to the creation of the TVA, because killing HWR triggered the destruction of the Loom, which will force Loki to recruit, which will create the TVA, which will monitor the multiverse, which at some point will be taken over by HWR to create the Sacred Timeline, which become the multiverse one again after Sylvie kills him, which will destroy the Loom, which will cause Loki to recruit.
Of course!!! Always a delight to and on that note we're truly seeing eye to eye on every single point you raised so thank you for such an amazing ask! Exactly the conversation I was craving after making those gifs just to get some things off my chest about how Mobius gets treated since as you said, he's already been doing everything possible to protect the timelines while clearly under incomprehensible pressure yet has never hesitated to evaluate and change his worldview accordingly to better serve the whole.
Honestly confused by those insisting he HAS to see his past and is in the wrong for not having done so because isn't that up to him?? Doesn't matter what his reasons are, he's entitled to his choices and I can honestly say without hesitation if I were in his shoes my decision would be the same. He enjoys his job, he's incredibly good at the work (people seem to forget he's facilitated the progression of basically every plot point), and has recently built more connections he appreciates and wants to grow than in the entirety of his life combined so why is he not allowed to make a single decision in his own interest when neither his approach to changing the TVA nor any other person is being impacted? But you're exactly right about how regardless he'll be made to have the experience anyway and while I'd be perfectly happy with that never happening I accept the advancement of narrative as a given and can only hope whatever cards he's dealt are ones that only bring him peace of mind about the work he's done so far and in the future.
(adding a read more here because I've got a feeling this is gonna be a long one, lol)
Have also seen many people saying Sylvie blowing up at Mobius was necessary or that he needed to hear it but that logic is completely missed on me? For example Ravonna did the same but considering the amount of history between them her reaction is fully understandable even if I don't agree with the points she made about his compassion being a weakness. Mentioned this to a friend earlier but I truly wish it had been some random character besides Sylvie who yelled at him simply because she doesn't have the kind of personal connection to make judgements and because I don't want any ship war elements at play or anything when my take is solely based around wanting Mobius to be recognized as someone who has been good and kind from the start? Watching him be put down for that as if it's fact in basically every episode is getting exhausting 😔
To that point I also agree with the importance and necessity of revolution but not sure starting from scratch is necessary when the TVA does have a solid base and plenty of people willing to stay and help the cause? In reality there's no time for anyone there to stay currently focused on anything but stabilizing the situation when the alternative is the end of every timeline, burning things to the ground only really counts if there's any ground left to build on which is yet another reason Mobius and the others switched to preservation. For example, O.B's quip about Sylvie ruining his life by killing He Who Remains was complete fact and while I don't have any hate towards her character at all and certainly don't want any mirrored scene of someone yelling at her, etc, it's driving me crazy how she refuses to admit they've actively been saving lives and scrambling to accommodate these unexpected branches while she was at a MCDONALD'S.
My ep 5-6 theory matches yours regarding about the collapse of the Loom being the cause of Mobius, B-15, and Casey ending up at the TVA because their Nexus event technically isn't one, it's them choosing to leave with Loki of their own free will and the good of existence. I'm also not sure if O.B. was ever a variant so he could possibly be the key to figuring out where Loki can find everyone's original self? Psyched to learn more about him and how he ended up in such a vital position! Hundred percent think the series is ending with Loki as the founder and probable ruler of the TVA but can't quite figure out where the switch to He Who Remains entering the picture fits in, and your point about Sylvie also contributing to the creation of the TVA in an infinite loop is a fascinating one that's going to leave me thinking for a long while so thanks for that as well and of everything I have to admit the possibility of Loki and Mobius being their own ouroboros in creating just the right person to intrigue and change themselves into who they always wanted to be has been giving me life, them as timekeepers along with B-15 has been my hope since the first episode of season 2 and is probably the most incredible place I could imagine leaving everyone if we don't get another season.

tumblr is an escape from reality for me, it is something that I enjoy doing. Writing with different muses, exploring different verses, making connections that I never would have had the chance to make in my every day life. I don't come on here for drama, I don't come on here to dictate what people can and cannot do, and I definitely won't come on here and use my issues to get what I want. If you don't like me? don't follow me. You hate my guts? There is a block button, please use it. I have been on tumblr since 2011 , maybe even 2010, far before I should have been writing on here tbh -- & I have never in my life seen the amount of drama that i've seen recently. This is supposed to be a place for fun, to do something that we ENJOY doing.. & that is what I am going to do from now on, I am here to write & vibe with whoever vibes with me. I don't normally post things like this, but please, can't we all just have FUN?

Thinking through the logical conclusions of lore that the source material has clearly not thought that deeply about can be annoying or depressing in the sense of seeing exactly how deep the plot holes go but so long as it doesn’t inherently break the suspension of disbelief or ruin your enjoyment of the overall story it can be really fun to figure out what you can use to plug the holes. Like that’s just free real estate now baby. If the lore implies X but the story wound up at Z, then you can make the journey through Y be whatever you want it to be

"Forgive me for the man I have become..."
-coughs- Don't look too deep into this, nothing to see here--
No, I drew Isa/Saix in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters style because AU reasons.
I'll only go on a rant if anyone is actually interested in the "#big "big fuckoff multifandom au bullshit" tag LOL
If you're still here, here's some clifnotes about Isa for this AU under the cut:
Isa Hewley, eventually known as Isa Hewley-Kaiba:
Abandoned on the doorstep of Lea's family at the age of around 3 - Lea's mother took him in and he eventually gets officially adopted by Lea's brother Zack's biological father, Angeal Hewley.
He's a Berzerker, a dangerous breed of demon that is labeled "kill on sight" by demon hunters. He was trained to keep control of himself by Angeal, who is a werewolf
His uniform was Zack's, it's a hand-me-down because Angeal is cheap. It didn't fit Lea at all.
He takes an interest in Kaiba after he returns from Duelist Kingdom, making it his personal mission to pursue him romantically (why? he's got bad taste I guess)
He gains a job at Kaiba Corporation in secret, eventually using his wit as leverage to get Seto Kaiba's attention.
He and Kaiba get married very young, and have a lot of problems with their marriage shortly after (because Kaiba has an interest in "the Other Yugi" also)
Before and during his marriage to Kaiba, he and Lea are forced into the Organization due to their demon blood
Xemnas absolutely uses Kaiba's cheating as leverage to keep Saix in the organization
Eventually he leaves Kaiba to pursue Xemnas, which fucks him over more (once again, bad taste in men oof)
When the Organization is defeated 10 years later, he returns to Kaiba and gets his job and husband back - they're still working on their awful marriage
idk he probably just comes to terms with an open marriage
Isa is a master at mind games and uses that to frustrate Seto into doing what he wants most of the time
I know this is super crack shippy, but I'm an adult and it's my story lmao
