I learned what a bullet journal was by watching a few YouTube artists set theirs up and my algorithm spiraled out of control from there so I guess I have all the bujo influencers to thank for getting into it because it has been a godsend so far on my third attempt, but damn if the over emphasis on aesthetic over the actual practical organizational aspect of it doesn't rankle me a bit
[thirty rambling tags later] huh. I didn't know there was a thirty tag limit in all the years I've been on tumblr. Whatevs I can't copy paste the tags onto the main body because I'm on mobile and I don't want to write it out again so I'll just summarize the last bit here:
If you are browsing the bujo tag because you feel bullet journaling will help you but you feel intimated because you don't think you can make it look pretty, or that the bullet journal method could never help you because it looks exhausting or the inspo you see doesn't cover what you need, I am pleading with you to ignore all the pretty inspiration, take the most common and even original Ryder Carroll formats and spreads with a grain of salt and eliminate or change them as needed, and talk to people who have similar needs than you even if they don't bujo and suss out what's important to keep track of. My bujo is eighty percent important medical bullshit, because that's what I need more than a book tracker. You prolly have your own unique needs. And hell, if you want a book tracker then add a booktracker. It's your bujo to format and plan out.
So like if you want to start bullet journaling, go to Michaels and get a seven dollar Artist's Loft dot grid journal. Or a binder you have left over from school years past and print out your own dot grid paper if you have enough ink and paper and printer that can do double sided (Kevin McLeod's site I forget the name of has free adjustable dot and other grids I've used), or buy a pack of 8.5x11 dot grid paper, and grab a crappy hole punch that just barely does the job. Get yourself a nice pen you think looks and feels nice in your hand and on the paper–or if that doesn't matter to you go get pack of Bics or even pencil if that's what you prefer (I use a pencil for things I can't have be permanent, like temporary meds or the dates of yearly vaccines). If you're twitchy about messing up then get the cheapest wite out they have (but don't worry about messing up especially if you're not even showing it off to anybody). A cheap yellow highlighter if you think it'll help. And a ruler if straight lines are important to you. I lost mine so I just wobble my lines now I don't care (and it's marginally easier to get a line adjacent to straight with a dot grid)
Anyway. If you want to bullet journal but don't know where to start or how to make it pretty or how to make it work for your needs, just try it in the cheapest way possible and rearrange the guts of the bujo as you see fit. And don't worry about the optics as long as you can make sense of your methods and writing.
(and for the love of God if you're bipolar don't make an hourly mood tracker yes our moods can and will fluctuate throughout the day but goddamn was that a bitch to log and abandoned a few weeks after inking it out)
#i see this with in regular journaling/diary circles too#people saying 'i want to start a bujo/diary but I'm not good enough at art ☹️'#like more power to you if you can make it pretty but it shouldn't be the primary emphasis especially with how useful it is#(it's especially depressing with just regular diaries and journals because like. you're under no obligation to share that shit with anybody)#I'm on my third bujo attempt because i got overwhelmed with my first two because i didn't know how to customize it with me and my needs#the most i got about symptom tracking was like a weekly layout checking off if the criteria was hit#and mood tracking was like daily smiley or frowny face in the corner#like my siblings in planning that is not enough for my chronically ill bipolar ass lol#i went way overboard my first attempt with just mood tracking. i planned it out HOURLY. every week#and that got overwhelmingly tedious and i use overwhelmingly deliberately. so i just stopped mood tracking#and then the whole thing got overwhelming so i stopped it entirely#gave it another shot because my method of scheduling things and symptom tracking was to write appointments and symptoms on post its#and pray they didn't fall off and i could remember where i even put them#and i see a lot of doctors so that was a LOT post its to keep track of#so i did another bujo but had the same problem as lack of resources and inspo and how to make it work for my needs#plus future logs were hard to parse AND i often felt too tired to lay out a new month or two every time#so like there were just whole months and the symptoms and appointments within just missing and i might as well not even have a bujo#so i stopped that one too#FINALLY after a little bit more watching Ryder Carroll and looking at prefab medical planners that were still woefully inadequate#AND MORE IMPORTANTLY talking to my fellow chronically ill. mentally ill. disabled. or all three. friends on what i should jot down#i finally got a system that worked for me thus far#i got rid of even staples like future logs and just laid out a monthly calendar format because that was easier FOR ME#and i laid out the year in advance so i could still have the scheduling part of i was too tired to do entire layouts at the beginning of the#month#my mood tracker was merged with my symptom tracker and turned into a symptoms *list*#with a section for every specialist i see. mood stuff just went under psych/therapist#also i switched to a binder format instead of a bound book for even more flexibility#i can easily remove things i no longer need. i can rearrange what goes in what section. i can easily add more to a section before the next#bujo#bullet journal

I feel like I've been in Emergencies Only Mode for longer than I really realized, and I've had an incredibly busy few weeks on top of that to really make me feel it.
But this year is ending with some amazing news and several steps in the right direction and it's making me understand how much I was doing just to keep afloat.
I am going into 2023 with the goal of selfcare first and foremost, and forward progress as a secondary point, and I'm wishing all of you good luck on the same <3

bullet journal and productivity info (with personal stuff added, srry)
sooo... i started a bullet journal! (@a-social-asshole because i *think* i remember talking to you about bujos? if so it was rlly long ago lol)
Actually this is the second time I attempted it, the first time i made a few tiktok videos of fixing & decorating the notebook cover but only ended up using it for like... a day. the book i used was too bulky and kinda falling apart, and the lines were too uniform. (pro tip--make sure you use a journal you *like*)
now i have a dotted journal! it's decently slim and has a sophisticated cover (white marble with an inspirational quote in gold) and it isnt like my usual style but it works and its nice enough that i dont feel the intense need to cover it in duct tape.
so far i have an index, a goal collection for the school year, a habit tracker, and my first daily log. i'm not doing monthly or weekly spreads because i have a more standard linear planner for the scheduling part. (I figured premade stuff would be easier for me personally in that department.)
i'm using my bujo almost exclusively at school with the exception of the habit tracker, which is daily. it's to help me keep track of assignments, my general pain level (in case i need to provide evidence of my chronic pain when i eventually see a doctor) study tarot by pulling a card each day, be more grateful, and remember tasks (so far, reminders to discuss certain things with instructors).
if you want to start bullet journaling but you find the idea daunting--all the stuff you see on Pinterest that looks amazing and time consuming can scare people off--it's important to remember that bullet journals are supposed to be highly customizable. you can do as little or as much as you want. start small! my journal is super minimalistic, very few symbols, simple borders, literally just the date at the start of my daily logs and my messy handwriting below. also, you dont need a lot of supplies. I just have a journal, some highlighters from the dollar store, papermate marker pens, more papermate pens from walmart, and washi tape. you dont even need the washi tape, i've only used it once so far and i prefer making my own borders (by literally just putting lines between the dots.)
i really hope the journal and my planner help me stay on top of things this year, because to be honest i've never been the best student, and i want to improve myself in any way i can.
i have a lot of mental health issues, so it might sometimes be ambitious for me. i've heard that the key to improving is almost always a positive mindset. but you can't fall victim to toxic positivity in that--you have to know that you can have bad days, you can have days where you just can't bring yourself to study after classes, but you also need to be able to bounce back from those days.
(this is also why i'm deliberately putting self-reflection, self-care and time to just watch videos to my schedule.)
anyway, i hope if anybody read this they find it at least a little helpful! i wrote this out because i had to watch like 8 seperate videos to gather this info.
(if you are very interested in seeing if i crash and burn or succeed in organization, follow @system-maintainance, my blog that's basically how-to's and to-do's for myself. i might occasionally post my findings about self-care and conquering mental stuff <3 {itll prolly be reblogged here too, so dw if you dont wanna see my other stuff there!})

The Dollhouse Diaries
Real Life In Plastic Tip #6:
ෆTime Management for Neurodivergent Girly Girls and Boujie Hyperfemmesෆ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the pretty girl era of having time management under control. The key is to learn how to live in the moment while also being discipline enough to move on to the next task as needed. I know that sentence was as daunting to read as it was for me to write ૮꒰ྀི⊃⸝ ⸝ ⸝⊂꒱ྀིა I guarantee I gotcha *Chaeyoung voice*
Tumblr media
First Things First: Go 1 Week At a Time!! (every 3 days if an entire 7 is too much or your schedule is unpredictable, like mine)
Tumblr media
Build a simple list of all the things you have to do and that you would like to do. Its much easier to get it all out on the table so you can donate more of your brain power to sorting things, rather than holding things.
Put all of the things listed on a calendar: Most important first things first! This means things like health appointments, work schedule, birthdays, holidays that you celebrate, classes, or anything that involves not only your time but other’s as well. Then after that put the elective things second; Nail appointments, shopping trips, dates with friends, etc. Lastly, put the things you would like to incorporate into your daily routine; We talking skincare, any hobbies you may have like drawing/painting/sculpting/reading/blogging, any form of exercise, etc.
Once the week or however much time you have scheduled out is done on your overall calendar, then its time for marrying it to your life.
Marrying your schedule: Planner apps, Physical Planner, Dry Erase Boards and Bullet Journals
Choosing your medium at keeping up with your schedule is very important. You may have to try them all before you get comfortable with something. I have tried them all and I’ve found that the main one that truly stuck with me was the app/website Notion. I like it because its fully customizable and you can use it at your own pace. Every week or every day may not be super eventful and so it drops the guilt and shameful feeling of not filling up pages every single day.
Here is what all I use and the way I use them:
Notion <3 I use it as my overall journal. I use the apps on my ipad/phone to check if I’m not home and I can use the website on my PC when I’m home and relaxing. I like it because its very versatile. Think of it as a digital journal combined with similar mechanics of tumblr. I use it for literally everything. There are a lot of videos that can show off all of the cool things Notion can be used for but this is the video that personally helped me learn it quickly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bullet Journals <3 I have about 3 journals and I love them because I get to customize things with cute stickers and it gives very fun scrapbooking vibes. Because I use Notion as a all over planner I can use my BUJO’s for more fun and creative things. I usually use these for all of my cute ideas and things thats in my mind and aesthetic wishlists and such. Its very therapeutic to take time out to be kawaii and glamorous and just put cute thoughts on to paper! I mainly use it for kpop inputs, my fav shows, wishlists, dates and etc.
Tumblr media
Dry erase board <3 I use this as a overall daily top important to-do list! Sometimes I dont always open my notion if I dont have anything extremely important coming up but there may be some things I need to keep on my mind to do for that day. The way my neurodivergency is set up I need to keep the most important things always in my face or I could forget everything. So, I put things on there like get a new tire, pick up order from bath & bodyworks, put clothes in the dryer, wash dishes, and etc. Daily tasks like that usually goes on my dry erase board
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember at the end of the day dont be too hard on yourself and your schedule! Move at your own pace and always set yourself up for success. Scheduling is ideally suppose to calm you and be a tool to improve your life; not stress you out. If at any point you begin to feel overwhelmed just stop and recenter yourself and your life. I felt overwhelmed at first myself and that was because I was trying to keep up with a hyper organized and productive version of myself that I needed to give more patience to develop. Let this come organically to you and not because you are trying to keep up with what u feel everyone else is doing, or to the future self you are going to inevitably become. Happy scheduling, Dollmate!

On your ‘I think April of 2022 Megan had it cracked’ post, are you thinking of the avec system then? Or trying to keep the cousin? I’m just curious! I know when you where in the avec you had trouble cause when you’d turn the page you’d forget to move the tasks over (which was my main problem too when I was only doing 1 day 1 page bujo) so I’m just curious what your thoughts are in this! (Also I am NOT one of those anons who cares about your notebook ‘consumption’. Buy however many notebooks you want, find what brings you joy!❤️)
yeah! so here’s my thinking. i don’t use the weekly pages in the cousin anymore because i don’t find the columns good for to-do lists, and any other journal type notes i already have on the daily pages. i keep my sleep log in the calendar, so when im doing my daily updates, i fill the daily page and the calendar bits and then i flip to the weekly section and im like 😐 you.
i’ve been looking for the perfect “companion” book for my cousin as a portable place to keep my weekly to-do list, but am struggling a bit because the weeks feels like a poor fit, the TN passport feels too small/awkward to write in, i don’t really want to go back to field notes, etc.
i was cleaning yesterday and sorting through my old hobonichi boxes and realised that the a6 avec system that i had in early 2022 could be the solution? daily entries and notes in the dated pages, sleep log in the calendar, no weekly section to worry about now that i no longer need it. im looking at the ‘days free’ as my second book- an extra set of calendar pages for appointments/events/scheduling, blank pages for weekly running to-do lists, lots of room for commonplacing and extra notes (with pre-drawn margins and page numbers, too).
in the video i made in 2022 i was saying that i was having trouble maintaining the two books equally, but after working in a5 for a long while and refining my commonplace practice i don’t think that would be an issue anymore. so im like. huh. maybe past megan had it all worked out and i just wasn’t ready for it yet. but now it kind of seems like it might solve everything? using the avec system also means i don’t have to worry too much about bulking, and i get that archive/fresh start feeling midway through the year, while still having a complete set at the end.
idk i might test it for november and see. i’ll probably rehome my 2024 weeks and maybe the TN passport booklets because neither really feel like the right fit for my needs, disappointingly. then by december i can probably work out if the 2-book a6 system is working as imagined or if i should just stick with the cousin (probably without a companion book). i wish i had been able to work it all out without so much experimentation and so many purchases but unfortunately i’ve always been someone who learns best with hands-on practice so maybe there was no other way 🫠 ig it all led to the knowledge i have now, the refinement of my practice, the clarity of what i really, truly need from my notebooks, etc. so idk. but that’s where i’m at with it
either way hopefully whatever i go with at the end of december will be it. whether it’s the cousin or the a6 pair, i’ll have settled. and that’s a nice feeling

Hey rose :) If you don't mind can you say for what you use your A6 notebooks?:') sending hugs!
Tumblr media
Hey 🌹 The Leuchtturm 1917 is for commonplace journaling, I haven’t come up with a system yet so stay tuned on that. Moleskine notebook is my general journal for thoughts, some scrapbooking, mixed media art and sometimes I put my bujo pages there such as habit trackers. Last but not least the Lamy one is for the poetry that I’ve written from last year until now. 🌱 I hope this helps if you want some inspiration or motivation for starting your own journals. The A6 format is perfect for carrying around or just write without being too overwhelmed with the big space and how to fill it up.

Pen and Paper Planning
Maybe you like me are endlessly drawn back to pen and paper. I have often felt more at home in a good notebook. For a long time I thought there just weren't many options for notebook systems in comparison to "productivity" apps but over the years I've collected a number of them that I pull inspiration from for my own system. I've been told my little compilations are helpful so I thought I'd share what I've found here with some notes about each.
Bullet Journal
The OG. I think bujo has gotten a bad rap by people who've only every interacted with it via aesthetic routes like instagram. I found out not to long ago that there are people who don't know what the original system entails at all so I thought it was worth mentioning here.
Check it out here.
I recommend it less as a "productivity" system and more as a style of rapid/micro journaling. Does journaling feel like it takes forever and just isn't worth it - this is the system for you. When you go into it with that mindset, it's a lot easier to get the benefits. Wouldn't really recommend it for full blown tasks management and planning but the creator is upfront he never really intended it for that.
Everbook
This is more of a folio style as opposed to a notebook system but I think there are aspects that translate nicely to notebooks. It's definitely more of a productivity system too - very GTD influenced according to it's creator. I like it for it's modular approach to tasks, inspiration, and tracking.
Check it out here.
I recommend this if you like multi-notebook systems and are focused on getting tasks done more so than reflection/introspection.
Analog by Ugmonk
Basically a glorified notecard but this one has been a real game changer for me with regard to my daily tasks. I keep my today card clipped to the cover of my journal. You don't need to buy their fancy system for it at all and lots of people have hacks of it. Easy to combine with 1-3-5 Lists and the Bento Method as well.
Check it out here.
I recommend it for people who prefer a more flexible way of planning their days than what traditional planners offer.
Strikethru
I've not gotten to try many aspects of Strikethru yet but there are some I'm definitely looking to incorporate in another journal. Strikethru is a much more task oriented system than a bullet journal. It features a "live list", "dump" "vault" and calendar. I think it best replicates what you do what many to-do apps. They have their own journal you can buy but it can be set up in your own notebook.
Check it out here.
I recommend this for people who are doing large projects with lots of moving parts.
Theme System by CPG Grey
I love CPG Grey's ideas about yearly and seasonal themes. He created a notebook to compliment those ideas. It basically is composed of a section on fleshing out your themes, daily reflection pages, and habit tracking. I like the light direction while still being freeform enough for most goals.
Check it out here.
And here.
I recommend it for people who's primary use case is self improvement oriented. If you're looking to move the needle forward in some area of your life, themes are a great way to start.
Commonplace Book
I think the best way to think of a Commonplace Book is that it's a sketchbook for ideas. I think too often with digital systems it's easy to get caught up in worrying about capturing all of our ideas or optimizing them to be found again - which only really adds stress and unnecessary complexity. What I like about a commonplace book is not only it's usage throughout history but it's simplicity.
Check it out here.
And here.
I recommend this for people who are looking to do a lot of creative or intellectual work and don't want to get distracted by screens to capture what inspires and moves them. Also for people who prefer to refer to their inspiration in a more tactile way.
Maurice Moves' Notebook
When I first found this method, it had very few views. When I went to look it up again, it had taken off. I'm so glad because it feels like an underrated system that can be easily paired with some of the other. It's basically a series of pages he uses to work through goals or just directions he wants to move in life. I've never see a system that's both so orderly and thorough. I especially appreciate is way of working backwards from his desired results to develop his plan.
Check it out here.
I recommend this for people who are trying to achieve big things but aren't totally sure how to get here. Seems very neurodivergent friendly too depending on what you personally excel with.
1-3-5 Lists
I first learned about a similar concept from Esme Weijun Wang's ebook "Productivity Journaling with Limitations" but I can't seem to find it on her website anymore. This website has one version of it but the version I've been using is slightly different.
The first task is my "win the day task" - if I only do this it was a productive day. It's achievable based on the resources I have that day. On low energy days , the task might be a simple chore like laundry or a health activity like walking. On a high energy day, it's usually something that moves me forward in some way - tackling projects like redoing my room or organizing all of our papers. Most days are inbetween though.
The next three have historically been "to not cause myself further trouble" tasks but I've been experimenting with making them one home/work task, one health task, and one relationships task as mentioned in this Ali Abdaal video (in Part 3).
The next five to six tasks are usually just easy wins - things I can get to if I feel like it but I feel no pressure to complete.
I recommend this system for people who are working with variable energy, health, time, or other resources. I could see it being helpful for folks with children or who are caregivers as well. I've found it useful as someone with chronic illness.
Sorry this section is a bit of a mess, when I originally put it on here I thought I could just link to Wang's ebook but alas. If anyone has the link, please drop it in comments.
Bento Methodology
This is another one that can be paired with another system. While the video I link to is talking about it in terms of an app, I think it's similar to the 1-3-5 system in that you can just use it inside of any other to-do list or task system you might be using. I appreciate it's nudge to do deep work and it's clear criteria for each compartment. I use this when I have more energy and want to use it to the best effect. Whenever I use it I always feel like I had a really meaningful day in terms of my efforts.
Check it out here.
I recommend this for people who want some structure to their day but still want flexibility from day to day to pick what they work on.
And I think that's most of them. I hope something here inspires you to pick up a notebook and get to writing. Best wishes!

I finally did it: I found the spoons to make an actionable (and semi-gameified) visual representation of spoon theory that I can actually use.
I've been thinking about doing this for months, and I've posted about it once or twice.
But, I finally did it, I made these bad boys for myself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Which is to say, my body is very poorly held together, in a lot of pain, easily exhausted, and easily injured. I'm at the point now where I've had every intervention under the sun, nearly a decade of physio, we've found the best pharmacological interventions for me, and...we just have to get by. It's hard, it is, but it's the only mode of existing I know.
Maybe it's because I'm an aphantasiac, maybe it's because I'm (more than) a bit neurodivergent, but spoon theory has always been a little too abstract for me. I grew up on JRPGs (cough final fantasy has me in a choke hold), so putting things into just...stat bars and a table of effects, items, etc is more accessible to my fatigued, pained little brain. This is familiar. This makes sense to me.
Who needs an arbitrary amount of spoons, when you can have 200 HP & MP?
There's twenty notches in between the bars, so I can more accurately knock off health/mp as it ticks down. I teach in a primary school (children who only come up to my hip, mostly!), so you bet I've printed and laminated these, and have them slapped up somewhere I can easily see and access with velcro. If I can't see it? It doesn't exist. I can easily use a dry erase marker to take off my health/mp as I self-evaluate through the day, and start fresh the next.
Tumblr media
「 As of this post going live, I've been using this for about a week! The MP drain seems accurate to life give or take, and the HP bar has been a good representation of just...the state of mess I'm in. There are injuries and "real life debuffs" that aren't on the list, but -20HP/-20MP has been a safe bet for those. The A4 is for at home, and one of the A5s follows me to work/out and about in my BUJO! 」
And it's not perfect, of course it's not! I'll probably tweak my board in a month or two. But, maybe just having a list of the things I can do to help myself right in front of me will help. Maybe, being able to show it to my spouse will help them help me better. It's worth a try. Bullet journalling and visual timetables are lifesavers, but they can only communicate so much at once.
I've made a blank version, in the event anyone wants to download it and fill it in for themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This link should let you access a view-only version in canva. I'd imagine you should be able to make a copy and do it yourself! If not, don't hesitate to let me know and I'll try to find a workaround.
Hopefully this might help one or two busy-brained people like me manage their energy and pace their bodies a little bit better. Or, at the very least, give them a starting point for making their own resources.

This was the day before yesterday; it was my first workout in 2 weeks due to being in a bit of a slump. I did a whole body workout to dust out the cobwebs, although I missed my lats and barely got my hammies & glutes, but whatever. I went down in both weight and reps from where I had left off with each respective exercise, and yet it worked me hard enough that I’m still fairly sore this morning. 😅 It is what it is though, I figured I would have to go down at least a little but it doesn’t bother me. The previous workout had been 2 weeks prior but I hadn’t really been doing enough to maintain since late January, before Costa Rica, so yeah. But at least this soreness is giving me some motivation to keep showing up to stop losing my gains!
I also really really want to get back to my bujo (also not done since January) and start writing in my nice new journal cuz yeah I still haven’t started that. 🙃 Both of those things can help me in other areas of my life too. Also been missing Duolingo… My Sunday is wide open though.
Just chuggin along right now trying to be gentle with myself while also trying to take care of myself. I don’t want to say I’ve been depressed but just the blues I guess. It’s crazy how much sunny days help my baseline lately, but of course it’s the time of year for very fickle weather lol… But today through Wednesday are supposed to be lovely so I’m looking forward to that. 😌☀️

“Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” ~John Wooden
needed some encouragement, so i looked up inspirational quotes about studying and felt this was appropriate bc whenever i realize that i made a too-ambitious to-do list (which is a nearly daily occurrence... idk why i can never accurately estimate what i can actually do in a day), i often feel like throwing in the towel and wasting away in a doomscroll, but just bc i can't get to everything doesn't mean the whole day has to be a write-off!!! 😤 (also i finally woke up at 8 today! 🙌 gonna try to keep it up over the weekend, which means i need to set my alarm... ⏰)
learning:
review wk 4 psyc notes ✅ (when i have time, it might help to make flashcards of all the key terms or smth and practice remembering them bc damn, there's so many 😵‍💫 either way, i can't see my score yet but i have a feeling the quiz went alright)
psyc quiz ✅
work on mol bio notes ✅ (i was originally supposed to finish the last 2 sections...instead, i just finished 1 and there weren't even that many slides left to that section 😑)
finish psyc ch 2/3
make decent progress on biochem notes for this week (which i have sorely neglected 😶😬) ✅ (3/5 sections done! now i just have to do 1 each day of the weekend to finish by monday...iT sHOuLd bE DoAbLe rIgHT??? it probs is if i wake up early enough, i just hate working on the weekends... 😅)
finish psyc ch 3/3
set up bujo for next week ✅
self-care:
physio exercises ✅
blogilates workout ✅ (didn't get through the whole thing but i DID get farther than i did the last time)
🎶 christmas coffeehouse ambience - calmed by nature

23/100 days of productivity
almost at the quarter mark! i kind of registered last minute for an extra credit course and there's a lot of material to catch up on by tomorrow, so I sat at home today to get through as much as I could. I did end up missing an hour of class in the process but I got quite a bit of work done and also submitted one out of two assignments so I'm not too bothered about it. I also did my 45min of exercise and 20min of duolingo per usual. It's been a good day
Recently I'm trying to shift from only using a daily planner to a more hybrid method of bujo + calendar blocking. personally I feel like this has made quite a big difference in how I visualize the amount of time I have in a day and the number of tasks I need to get done. once I figure out my daily rhythm maybe I can add other tasks like gre prep and coding and maybe like a hobby as well
yep thats it! I hope you guys are having a fun and productive week as well <3 oh and Red White and Royal Blue movie is out this Friday!! I can't wait!!!

Piggy backing off the post on the how the bullet journal has gone from a method to help the neurodivergent stay organized to ~aesthetically~ gentrified with elaborate artistic spreads meant to be shown to other people, intimidating those who have no artistic ability or energy to do spreads that are worth showing from starting to bujo to keep organized in the first place,
I see that a lot with regular journal/diary spaces too. I belong to a few online circles where sometimes people post pages of their elaborately done diaries, and I also see people posting about how they want to start journaling but they don't think they can make their pages as pretty as everyone else's and like? The purpose of a diary isn't to make it look pretty to others, it's to write down your private thoughts and feelings and personal stories for yourself. Hell, the idea of sharing a diary entry is ghastly to some, if not most, diarists. My diary is one hundred percent words, no decorations, illustration, or washi, because I'm the only one who is going to see it until I'm dead anyway.
I'm not knocking people who decorate their pages and share them for the world to see, but I need people who need/want to get their story or thoughts out on paper if only for themselves to know that it's completely okay to just write. You don't have to post it to social media, you don't have to decorate it like it's a competition that you have to keep up with, you don't have to make it look pretty for anyone else, you just have to write for yourself and your needs.

know of any pastel whimsical studyblr themes?
Some of these won't be studyblr specific, but I think they will fit a studyblr account/aesthetic!
@xuethms's Neon is based on a scrapbook, which I think will go well with a bujo centered blog! This isn't a theme, but I think xue's kyanite (premium) page fits the whimsical pastel vibe as well.
@pirateskinned has a lot of themes that have a scrapbook-like aesthetic! While they might be centered for rp blogs, I think those features also work well for studyblrs! Strawberry and My Way come to mind.
@phantasyreign's Inuyasha Kagome could fit this too!
If you're interested in premium themes, you can try pirateskinned's Theme 78 and Home or @yeoli-thm's Spring Again.
I feel weird recommending one of my own themes on this, but Notebook was made for this exact aesthetic!
And as with all of these, if anyone has any other recommendations, feel free to add them to this post
