i wish, i hope, i beg the insecure jikookers (if they are even jikookers) would actually sit down and THINK. there's always and i mean always a large, a HUGE picture we have been getting just a tiny cut out from, in every situation. and it's not even a new thing, we have always been aware we are getting just a tiny crumb off of a big cake. so i'm not really understanding what's everyone fussing so much about?

there's always a room for millions of possibilities of what actually could have happened and these people always seem to think the 'worst' (it's not even the worst, so what if jimin wasn't there with him? is there some rule book couples must follow?). you get what i mean no? he could've been in the room next door, sleeping, on his phone, he could've been sleeping in his apartment, hell, would the 2 minute live gone longer than 2 minutes he could've walked in on the screen without knowing they are even live, just as jk did. i could go on and on and on...

not to mention that since april 4th morning KST (bb hot100 update and jms wlive) we have got just ONE update about jikooks whereabouts- that being minimoni on a nike dinner and jk unsurprisingly being like 900 metres (0.5 miles) away from that said dinner with his 97liner friends celebrating Mingyu's birthday (really surprising that the nineone neighbours +jk are within one kilometer in one area). so that leaves us (if we count april 4th after the early celebration wlive) with 4 whole days of nothing. nada.

so unless you're living in the walls of jimin and jungkook's apartments you have no, and i can't stress this enough, fucking idea what's happening.

i should probably mention the fact that jk is flying off to the US in just a few hours (maybe not even that many), meaning he could've been at his apartment to pack some damn stuff, do some damn laundry before he flies away for who knows how long. or he just wanted to spend time at his apartment you know, an apartment that's his. because he owes no one a damn explanation.

it's actually baffling how some of you all claim to love them and believe in them and their relationship so much, yet you expect something from them all the damn time. an explanation. a statement. a huge gesture. a coming out. i guess that is not bad per say because after all, they've done it before (except the coming out part obviously), yet again, they don't owe you anything. so don't go around jikook blogs constantly spreading negative emotions that you yourself are feeling after something that doesn't go the way you have wanted it to go.

i actually have many more things to say, how all of this is happening literally months before they have to enlist and complete their duty as korean citizens, which is a heavy topic for any queer person that lives in SK and how this whole situation still must be very overwhelming (not in a good way) for them, but for now i will stop here. it's actually the first time i think i have written something on here, because i have had enough of the constant repetition. this all just convinced me i could never be a blogger, lmao. 😅

Just wanted to add about that night out on the 6th April outings cause you already brought it up.

JK and JM, how dare they, were spotted not together.

JM at the Nike dinner with RM and others.

JK was at a restaurant, which only today we found out was a dinner with Eunwoo and Mingyu, both his 97 liner friends (Eunwoo btw being a good friend of JM's too, surprise surprise).

And how surprising, the restaurant that JK and his friends dined at was a few hundred meters from where JM was with RM and the others, and the two were pretty close to JK's apartment.

Just a little more pieces to add to the puzzle of very little info we get (not to mention it coming to us in pieces).

beyond that, i believe he's a semi-regularly occurring character in the current superman titles & that there's a Steelworks book out there somewhere. but i've kinda lost interest in current comics for the time being, so that's all i can really say about that!

Vee is ond of those characters,) in parallel with Luz and Hunter) who I can't stop thinking about, and since I has been reading a lot of pots and comments talking about Vee and Luz being portrayed as mean and selfish person... I got me inspired to write this:

97% of the time Vee is quite literally just the sweetest child you could meet, serene, calm, kind and while shy most of the time she proves to be brave if she believes to have a shoot in the situation.

But for that other 3%, considering her origins and filling the gaps by visualizing what she must have endured just to survive up to this day; I'm quite certain if pushed hard enough she could snap, and with that I mean sudden outbursts that tend to bring to light all of those buried emotions from her time in captivity.

We are talking about 15 years (her whole life) worth of represed anger, fear, sorrow and hopeless

So it shouldn't be surprising she can be harsh at times, especially if emotions are running hot and just wants to be done with the conversations, it happens to everyone and we all tend to regret them shortly after.

Vee judging Luz's actions was something that happened in the heat of the moment as a result of Luz comparing her situation to Vee's. This lead to Vee feeling a mixture of anger and frustration and her first reaction was to prove her wrong, especially since from Vee's perspective Luz took her "perfect life" from granted and for some nonsensical reason decided to run away to live her "irrealistic dream" of being a witch. Meanwhile Vee spent her entire life either as a slave or as a fugitive with nobody or nothing to rely on until she ran away to literally another planet and took someone's else lives

Vee took Luz's place because Camila give her a taste of what being loved and cherish was like (just like how Eda loved Luz's mannerisms and personality) and from her perspective Luz left with the intention to return, so by the time Luz found out what Vee has been doing the latter's reaction was to leave, she recognized pretending to be Luz was wrong and was willing to leave without a fight

And at the end she said: “I resent you for running away. But I'm also thankful that you did. I dunno. It's... confusing.” this is where she came to realize how much of a moral dilemma their situation was, Vee did what she did out of necessity but doesn't know at all why Luz did it

This puts into perspective the complexity of the circumstance that lead to that moment. Luz never intended to abandon Camila in the first place, her intentions were to prove she didn't need to change and her dreams were not only possible but valid; while Vee's was to find a place where she could live as a normal person, a place to belong.

Definitely one of the most important bits we missed as a result of the shortening was a proper chat between Luz and Vee (and Camila) many of their issues were never addressed in the finale, Heck! They actually never spoke or said each other's name at any point!

And on top of that... They are children, you can't shame children from making a mistake and trying to fix them

Jkk antis criticize jkkrs for being happy with small things which supposedly shouldn't matter but they aren't really any better except in the opposite way. If jkkrs overhype small gestures that JK or Jimin do, then jkk antis also spend too much time dismissing things that don't fit their narrative.

I'll take an example - JK visiting Jimin during his dance practice. It's true that jkkrs act like that's some huge act of support because if you really think he's Jimin's bf why would you act like it's a big deal, but jkk antis fixate on his body language and the fact that he said no he's not coming again. Yeah sure that happened but if JK hates Jimin so much as you guys think he wouldn't have shown up in the first place. I don't want to pick at JK but he's so lazy with supporting the members and he hardly does anything unless he's with another member and they go together. In the end, it's insane to take a gesture like this in isolation and believe it means he's Jimin's boyfriend or even crazier believe that him coming to visit is proof he doesn't care about Jimin because how does that work.

These body language experts will say he doesn't care about Jimin because he doesn't initiate contact with him but his body language when he talks about Jimin is to be ignored?

Jkk antis will dismiss JK's Jimin centric wlives or Jimin mentions as meaningless but say Jimin posting on his IG is proof that he loves and supports every member. He does but like come on when did posting on IG become the ultimate sign of support?

For jkk antis, JK posting Tae during his short lived ig era meant Tae is the person he's closest to in the group or him doing dance challenges with Mingyu means he doesn't care about the members compared to his 97 line friends. But him commenting and liking Jimin's Tiktoks are again a sign of nothing.

Jkkrs are told they're doing too much over a 2 minute JK cameo during his live but jkk antis ignore the context of how JK came to see Jimin doing his live just to see him. Not to interact with him but just to see him and then go home. But since that doesn't fit, we'll just ignore it.

So ultimately for them, if JK does anything related to Jimin that's fanservice but all his other actions are signs he's not a good friend to Jimin. Don't tell me that's a clear and balanced view.

So ok I can accept the argument that jkkrs take JK's actions to mean more than they do. Maybe that's true. But I can't stand the moral superiority that jkk antis have when they do the exact same thing! If you're truly neutral you'd just say they're good friends - closer than most pairings in the group actually. I'll bet it's harder to find fans who think that way rather than settle on extreme sides of JK is Jimin's boyfriend to JK doesn't care about Jimin at all.

This is a thing of beauty! You are absolutely correct.

I've met very few people who think jikook are good friends and the closest pairing. Most people are on the opposite side of the extreme scale.

If jkkrs write post after post about jikook, then jkk antis do the same. They rile up their sheeple followers because people are so weak minded and can't form their own opinions.

At least jkkrs don't go invading jkk anti spaces. It is jkk antis that come here.

Absolutely! I love kudos, but I live for comments. I don't always know what to say (other than 'thank you' and 'i wish i could hug you'), but I will always do my best to show them my gratitude.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Well, I always write happy endings... unless I'm writing a series and I know I can drag it out a bit. Which means my angstiest ending was probably Let's Face the Music and Dance. I knew I was going to continue it, so I purposefully left it as a cliffhanger.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Almost all my fics have happy, sappy, fluffy endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. I have had one person complain about me calling my AUs 'Star Wars' because I could 'put any character in the story,' and I did get couple of complaints from Reylo fans because I tagged Rey/Ben (past relationship) on a Damerey story. This, of course, made me laugh. I can't even tell you how many times Reylo stories turn up in the Damerey tag. But, I've always been polite (if firm) in my responses.

9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?

I do. Back in my X-Files days, I had one reader call it 'classy smut.' I feel my style has changed a bit, but I hope it's still 'classy'! LOL It's mostly 'vanilla,' and will always be full of emotion, but I'm always willing to test my boundaries.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Nope. I've never felt the urge.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I was once told that one of my X-Files fics was stolen years ago, but I could never find any evidence.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have. I know I was asked for my permission on an X-File fic years ago, but I can't remember which fic or what language. Same with a Damerey fic more recently. I remember which fic, and I'm pretty sure I remember who asked, but I can't find it, so either it was deleted or my memory is faulty.

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Way back in the day, myself and a few other crazy X-File writers did a 'round robin' fic that got waaaaay out of control. We never finished it, and I have no clue if it's still hanging out on the Internet somewhere. BTW, I'm still friends with a couple of those writers; one of them was with my on my 50th birthday in Disneyland earlier this year!

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

It's got to be Rey and Poe, the ship that never was. I still believe we were robbed. I adore them so much, however Mulder and Scully will always be special to me, too.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I will always finish my stories. If I don't, then you know something horrible happened to me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I don't really know. I have been told that I am the 'queen of angst' and I've also been told that I write believable and realistic dialog.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I can't stay on a consistent schedule. Part of this is due to my physical and mental health, I'm sure, but for every chapter I write, I've tried writing it ten times unsuccessfully first. Something (migraine, exhaustion, anxiety, stress, work) always gets in my way.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I tend to make Poe Latino in my AUs, since Oscar Isaac is, but my Spanish sucks. I try to use as much as I can to give credit to him and his heritage, but not enough to embarrass myself. If I wasn't so busy trying to write these stories I might get down to actually learning the language!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Wrote for? Star Wars. Han and Leia. I also wrote for Jack and Jennifer from Days of our Lives. Alas, none of these stories were ever read by anyone else (unless my mom snuck a peek). The X-Files was my first 'published' fandom.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

This is so hard! I actually really love them all. I don't understand writers who can write something and then try and forget about it. I think I put too much of myself in my stories. El Halcón will always have a special place, as it was my first Damerey AU. Kinetic is also pretty special, not only because it's my 'greatest hit,' but because it was the story that helped me through my suicidal era. My first X-File fic, The Letter, and my first Damerey fic, Rising, are both very close to my heart. Other faves include The Secret, Naboo, I See You, No Molestar (my first and still best drabble), The Back Corner (smut!), Tempest, Blind Faith, and She Makes Him Laugh. I'll stop there!

Speaking of retconning, the one with yashamarus betrayal actually being rasas idea was interesting. What do you think the original plan was?

Actually, I don't think Yashamaru's betrayal was a retcon at all!

We have to look at Gaara's backstory as being told by unreliable narrators. Gaara himself even seems to have an unreliable narration to his past, whether that be because he was lied to or because he is over embellishing in a way to self sooth during his trauma dumping session with his future bestie and brother in law.

Here is his take on the assassination attempts his father made on his life: Chapter 97 and again in Chapter 547

In one case he claims he "lost count" but later when he faces his father, he claims that it was exactly six times. Now, what I think happened in that Kishi remembered mentioning "six" and just rolled with it to answer the question "how many times was Rasa a murderous bastard rather than just a bastard." In actuality, that mentioning of "six" was to reveal Gaara's age - it was an oversight or maybe a translating error?

Personally, I think Yashamaru's original take on it being Karura's will moving the sand to protect Gaara was actually foreshadowing rather than a retcon, and it was even established pretty early (Chapter 130!). We were given the truth right from the start, but then Yashamaru became an unreliable narrator as an order from Rasa to test Gaara's abilities.

Now one could argue, "Why would Yashamaru agree to kill Gaara when he claimed to love him? Why would he accept the mission in the first place?"

I agree with this sentiment, but purely from an emotional standpoint. I love me a Gaara, and so anyone who harms him is immediately considered to be on my naughty list.

However, if we lend Yashamaru the same grace we lend serial killer Gaara, we can note that the two of them are actually very similar: Both turned to killing in a way to cure their hurt.

It is clear to me that Yashamaru was devastated by the death of his sister, and you can actually still see that grief when talks about her to Gaara. A loss of a loved one is always difficult, but I imagine it would be even more difficult to know that you were the direct subordinate of the person responsible for that loved one's death, as Yashamaru was to Rasa.

Yashamaru watched Rasa make choices that would inevitably cause his sister's death, and yet he was stuck to put his despair, resentment and hatred aside for the sake of the village.

Yet it doesn't end there. Not only did Yashamaru experience all that, but then he had to watch his nephews and niece being forced down a path that they - one - did not choose for themselves and - two - would eventually lead to their deaths. It was just the nail in the coffin that Gaara ended up being compatible with Shukaku and thus Yashamaru witnessing the slow mental decline of the person who reminded him so much of his sister's love and hope for the future.

With that, I believe Yashamaru accepted the assassination mission to kill himself. I believe he wanted to die because living was simply becoming too much. I believe that he thought that if Gaara died with him, he could help him reunited with his mother who would be waiting for them on the other side; however if Gaara survived, Yashamaru would be able to get revenge through Gaara by unleashing him on the village.

A lot of people hate Yashamaru because of his choices, but I see him more as a tortured soul who had slowly lost his hope and his footing in the world.

Now, another reason why people might feel Yashamaru's "double backsies" plot twist was retconned is because in the anime, they do a voice over where he thinks something like "can't you understand the pain I feel?" (It's when Gaara and him are standing in the room beside Karura's picture - Episode 76).

Yashamaru never thinks that in the manga, which I considered to be the most canon of the material.

However, even this statement is ambiguous and can be taken in a lot of ways. Yashamaru could be saying it out of malice, or he could be wondering if Gaara knows what he's been assigned to do...He could also be wondering if Gaara understands the pain that he is feeling in his heart about the death of his sister. It could be argued many different ways.

Another reason why I think it isn't a retcon is because Gaara's sand never stopped protecting him, even when Shukaku was removed.

Now, I will be honest with you here. Shukaku is the type of being who will be sitting next to you in class when you make a really funny joke, but no one hears and so he will repeat that joke much louder so he can bask in the glory of stolen credit.

I think Shukaku heard people calling him "the ultimate defense" and he liked it. He liked it a lot, and so he stole a dead woman's credit by being like "aw yes, that's right. I am the one who's protecting this boy. No one can get past me. Haven't you head? I'm great! I'm the ULTIMATE DEFENSE!"

When...in reality....Shukaku is an unreliable narrator because he's boastful, and also because we all know that silly little tanuki was sleeping the whole time :')

You can't defend and snooze at the same time.

Also, Shukaku lied about being Karura, so double shame on him for lying so much!

In conclusion, I can see how people feel this one is a retcon (as it could totally be argued that way) however, I do think because Karura's love for Gaara was mentioned as early as Chapter 130, it falls into "foreshadowing and plot twist" territory.

hey Quin! how are you!

15: yes! i have a german shepherd named Lady that i received from an ex friend way back in highschool. she's a sweet, goofy, and lovely dog that has always protected me and my family more times than i can count on my hands. she's a huge girl, even by GSD standards, very few males we've met were actually taller/bigger than her

funny story: i wasn't in danger by any means but once during highschool, while on a walk with Lady, these 3 stereotypical cholos were heading our way being rowdy and loud, having a good ol' time

they get to me and Lady and suddenly they get all quiet and formed a single file line to avoid making contact with her kdkskds she really humbled them

as for the cat, he unfortunately passed away in October of this year due to an accident back home. he was probably one of the best cats i've ever had: a bit fussy and he loved to annoy me as much as i loved to annoy him but was overall such a chill sweetheart and captured most people's attention with his dorrito face and pointy ears (he was half siamese) i'll always cherish the memory of him and i do hope that one day he and i will meet again

30: to keep it brief, some family matters are happening right now and despite me being abroad for school, the family still doesnt grasp that the time zone difference is huge. i can't help them if they expect me to be available for calls and such at 3AM in my timezone and wont respect that fact

57: so there's quiet a few definitions to this term since even as a child, i always questioned what "true love" even is. it's such an abstract concept for me

i guess to an extent, i agree with most definitions about true love being a form of love founded on pure affection for a person rather than just feelings of desire

i dont agree that it has to be "perfect" however; maybe im cynical but there's always going to be conflict between couples, even if 97 percent of the time they get along great. i believe mistakes will be made and compromises and communication are key to attaining this "true love"

"Mycroft, can you tell me what's going on? You haven't said a word since we left the gala and came home."

Receiving no answer, Greg sighed as he unfastened his bow tie.

He continued, "Besides, I've barely seen you since you went to the restroom back there."

Mycroft had only been in the restroom of the reception room for exactly three minutes and twenty-four seconds, and that's how long it took him to find Greg smiling brightly at one of his distinguished colleagues. His French counterpart, Gerard de la Rochambière, far more attractive than Mycroft would ever be.

That was how long it took for this man to shamelessly invade Greg's personal space.

His space.

Mycroft's space.

Mycroft had felt such a wave of jealousy and anger build up inside him that he had preferred to stay away for fear of not being able to hold his legendary phlegm.

He, Mycroft, Mr. I Keep Calm In All Circumstances, had almost blown a fuse and brutally pulled back the man who had dared to be so close to his lover.

While Mycroft was lost in thought, Greg had taken off his jacket, unbuttoned the first buttons of his shirt and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt. He came and sat down next to Mycroft and, giving him a little nudge on the shoulder, said gently, "Come on, Mycroft, tell me..."

When Mycroft still didn't answer, he asked in a slightly worried voice, "It's... it's me, isn't it? I didn't do it right. I embarrassed you. I didn't behave properly, did I? Mycroft, tell me, I swear I won't take it badly. I don't know, shout at me if you have to, blame me, tell me something, anything, but please don't shut me out like this. I got enough of that from my father every time I did something he didn't think was appropriate or right, but I don't want to go through that with you. Tell me what I did wr-"

Mycroft, realizing how much his silence was leading to misunderstandings, put his finger over Greg's mouth and interrupted him with a shake of his head,

"Stop it. Stop it right now. I'm the problem. Just me. You didn't do anything wrong, I promise you, Greg. On the contrary, you were perfect tonight. I couldn't have asked for a better partner for this gala.

Greg exhaled in relief and asked confusedly, "So what's wrong Mycroft?"

Mycroft ran his hand over his face and replied, "You're going to find this so ridiculous."

Greg grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers before saying quietly, "Hey Mycroft, I can't believe this is ridiculous if it upsets you like this. Come on... let it go. I told you, I don't just want the good, I want it all, the bad too, whatever you think is ugly or ridiculous."

Seeing that Mycroft was really uncomfortable talking about what had happened, Greg slid to the top of the bed, leaned against the headboard and pulled Mycroft against him, between his legs, his back against Greg's chest. Then he wrapped his arms around him, resting his chin on his hair, and said softly, "Maybe it will be easier for you to talk about it this way."

Mycroft nodded softly, leaned back against Greg and swallowed before speaking in a whisper.

"It all started when I came back from the bathroom and saw you smiling at Gerard."

Greg interrupted him, "But I was only smiling politely at him while he was deeply annoying me and nev..."

Mycroft took Greg's hand that was resting on his chest and kissed it gently, "I know. I know you do. It's not your behavior I'm blaming here, it's mine. The irrational jealousy that made me want to throw propriety to the wind, grab him by the collar and send him a hundred yards away from you. And after that, I didn't dare come near you because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to control myself, and that's never happened to me... I mean in the context of this kind of event."

He felt Greg's breath on his hair as Greg whispered, "So basically it was just pure jealousy." 

Mycroft laughed self-deprecatingly and replied, "Yes, ridiculous, isn't it?"

Greg asked, "You do trust me, don't you?"

Mycroft replied bluntly, "Absolutely."

Greg continued in the same gentle tone, "Then could it be that you don't have confidence in yourself?" 

Mycroft gave the same self-deprecating chuckle, "That's the understatement of the century."

"I see..." muttered Greg, "How about this? I found Gerard's conversation absolutely bland, none of those blatantly languid looks or Colgate smiles had any effect on me. I was just waiting for you to join me so I could show him that he didn't stand a chance. I wanted to kick him out of my personal space, but I held back for the sake of you and the image I would present to your people."

"God, I'm such an idiot," Mycroft sighed.

"Stop it," Greg replied, "you just didn't know how to handle those feelings. But next time don't forget that there are two of us. It's always better than being alone in your corner."

Mycroft's head fell back and, looking up at Greg from below, he said sheepishly, "I'm sorry I behaved like that."

Greg shook his head, "There's nothing to forgive. Just don't shut me out. I can't stand it."

Mycroft turned around and ended up on his knees between Greg's legs. Leaning over him, his eyes in his, he whispered in a solemn tone against his lips, "I promise I will not do it again. And if I forget, remind me."

Greg replied quietly, "That's all I hope for." Then, wrapping his arms around Mycroft's neck, he added, "And now there is only one thing left for you to do to seal your promise."

"What's that?" Mycroft breathed against his lips, raising an eyebrow.

"Kiss me."

Mycroft didn't hesitate and, closing the distance between them, he pressed his lips to Greg's and kissed him long and deep. Much later, when they pulled away to catch their breath, the reason for their kiss had faded from their minds and they thought only of prolonging it to end the evening in the most pleasant way possible.

A little mistake

In which the reader falls pregnant and decides what to do.

Part one of a miniseries

It was near impossible to stop the tears from free-flowing down y/n's flushed cheeks. These types of things didn't happen to a girl like y/n, she was the most unproblematic, ordinary girl anyone had ever met - so what had happened? As she debated this, salty tears continued to flow down her cheeks onto the soft material of her shirt where they gathered and dampened it. It was hard to believe how life could change so swiftly, in the blink of an eye. Her fate decided for her at 17 years old, in 180 seconds.

Harry would be mortified. They were both on the road to freedom when it got shut down in a matter of seconds. There were always options, something y/n had thought about once in a blue moon, something she never thought would become a reality, but had quickly become her reality, or more so, their reality.

It felt like a nightmare - all the things they had both done to prevent this from happening, out the window. Y/n had been on birth control since she was fifteen, and they had always used protection just as a precaution. What were the chances? The pill being 99% effective and condoms 97%, they seriously had less than a 0.1% chance of this ever happening. But it did. And she felt like an idiot.

It took more or less a school week for Harry's concerned questions and side-eyed glances to become enough. He was so calculated in everything he did, but it went out the window as soon as he saw her wearing her comfort hoodie and joggers to school - and that was only the first day. He felt like he was begging her to let him into her mind. He never wanted to be cut off from her, and she never wanted to cut him out, but she couldn't deal with his potential reaction to the news when she had such a big choice to make. And she knew he should be part of that, but she wanted some peace before the inevitable storm that was for sure coming her way.

"What do I do?" Harry had vented to Gemma. She had been worried about how distracted and distant he had become after the third day of little to no conversation at the dinner table. It took less than 3 minutes (180 seconds) of coaxing to get him to start rambling, and once he started, he found himself unable to stop.

Harry had checked every possible date in his mind, so sure he had messed something up, her birthday? No. Their anniversary? No. Some event he had missed? Maybe, but he didn't think so. He couldn't think of anything to cause the sudden shift, and that made the whole ordeal much worse.

"She's been so distant lately, she doesn't speak to me anymore, she never wants to hang out, claiming she's ill, I mean, she can't even fucking look at me!" He had ranted, hands pulling at his hair in frustration. Gemma had sat quietly throughout the whole thing, listening carefully and trying to gauge the situation. She contemplated her next words, calculating her next move.

"I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but do you think, maybe, just maybe she might have lost interest and doesn't know how to break things off?" She knew this would hurt Harry, but she had always been a logical person, much like her younger brother, and thought he would need to hear it.

Harry stood in disbelief.

"No. You can't possibly think she wants to break up? I mean we were fine, literally last week we were talking about a future together, a house, a family, and we know we're young but this is it for us, this is what we want, and I don't think, I mean she couldn't, could she?" He started to panic. She couldn't really want to break up, could she? Oh god, what if he had been reading into things all wrong and she felt bad for breaking his heart, so she just went along with everything? Harry couldn't stand the thought. He needed out.

Before Gemma could say another word, he slammed his way out of the house onto the quiet neighbourhood streets.

Little did Harry know, y/n had already made up her mind. She had decided not to get Harry involved, and to sort this out herself, on her own, on her terms.

ROUND 1 ANALYSIS: THE #JUPITERSWEEP PHENOMENON

round one of the poke admin showdown is now over and several interesting things happened so i wanted to make an analysis post to. analyse them. because i like looking at numbers

first of all, we have to address the most popular poll of round one. with 111 votes at time of writing, jupiter vs zinzolin is our most voted-in poll by a landslide.

zinzolin never stood a chance. there was a significant period of time where he had exactly one vote and i think that's really funny. meanwhile, known girlboss jupiter has garnered more votes than anyone else in the poll. i want to examine why this happened.

my theory is threefold: part one is that i do not think zinzolin is particularly well-loved by the tumblr community - presumably there are some zinzolin enjoyers out there, as he has 7% of votes (more than a fair few others who are getting swept!), but they're definitely in the minority here.

part two is that it's just kind of a funny matchup. very cool galactic commander jupiter, who i believe is quite beloved, next to. well. zinzolin. you have to admit he is wearing very silly clothes and does some very silly things in the game. of course jupiter wins here, in both the popularity contest and in who would actually win in a fistfight because zinzolin is going nowhere fast in those garments and jupiter is i think probably one of the most likely opponents to just punch a guy directly in the face

this leads into part three: because it's a funny matchup, people picked it up and started sharing it around more, which meant more votes, which made it get funnier, which meant more reblogs, and so the cycle continues. #jupitersweep is powered, at least in part, by the Bit, and i think that's very respectable.

WITH THAT ASIDE !! there are some other things i've noted about round one that i think are interesting

firstly: two entire teams have been eliminated in this first round. the first is the aether foundation, with two representatives: faba and wicke (the latter of which put up a very good fight, which i'll talk about in a minute). the second is team flare, with all five representatives taken out, and two of those (xerosic and aliana) getting severely swept.

the common denominator here is that all of these people are some variety of scientist, and almost all of them have some sort of silly outfit that would be hard to move in. (xerosic specifically is wearing at least somewhat moveable clothes, but this is not going to help him against oleana. sorry.)

the closest fight was proton vs wicke, at 53/47%. this is very interesting to me, as wicke was one of the lowest seeded in the bracket due to her loving personality (i don't think she'd want to punch someone) and remarkably silly outfit (i am a big wicke fan but she's wearing hell garments and you can't tell me those boots are remotely easy to walk in). the second closest fight also involved a rocket executive (petrel vs bryony) and i think that's an interesting pattern

the most one-sided poll, is, interestingly enough, not jupiter vs zinzolin. it's actually courtney vs aliana, with courtney winning at a very impressive 97%. i don't have too much to say about this, i mostly just think it's funny, and i try not to be biased on this blog but you've probably seen this blog's banner. i like it when courtney. i think it's very fitting that she swept so hard.

94. Take Your Breath Away by Linwood Barclay--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just like a lot of other Barclay books, this one was a lot of fun! I loved the mystery and hope behind this one--I believe it was truly the latter that kept this story intriguing for me. I wanted to know what had really happened and if this story would get an interestingly happy-ish ending.

Much like his other stories, Barclay fills TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY with a bunch of red herrings and potential suspects. There were some good characters who you wanted to strangle, and some evil characters you wanted to know more about.

I'm excited to keep reading his books because Barclay has a way of grasping your attention as you read, keeping you hooked on the mystery and suspense.

I also felt really bad for the MC and how he had to go about things about the disappearance of his wife. I disliked his girlfriend, but what can you do LOL.

Onto the next one!

95. Find You First by Linwood Barclay--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay, this is the one. This is my favourite one by Barclay, so far. When I first started reading this and got a better grasp of the concept (I don't read the synopsis, as some of you might know), I thought, "Okay, this is cool and I know I'm going to love it."

I was right.

I love this idea of finding people before professional killers do. It's so deadly and so much fun, especially when you're getting to know these characters and hoping that they somehow survive the odds.

Another thing that I loved about this book, which comes as no surprise because I've mentioned it in other reviews of Barclay books--the red herrings and how everything connects blew my mind. I remember reading one POV and wondering how it would all connect.

This book was a blast and I honestly already have more audiobooks on hold from the library for his books.

96. Killer Pizza by Greg Taylor--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had so much fun reading KILLER PIZZA, probably more than I thought I would when I first found it at the Goodwill by my house!

First, let's show some appreciation for the cover. In person, the hardcover has a sleeve that looks oily because of the stains you'd see on a pizza box. It's so cool and I honestly love those little details. Also, there's a recipe for a spicy pizza in the book, so I mean, you can't go wrong with that.

The story itself was unique and so absurd at times that I couldn't help but giggle. A perfect example of this is the name of the monsters--it was hilariously ridiculous.

I loved the dynamic between the characters and how the MC grew as the story progressed. His self-confidence grew so much and by the end of the book, he was barely recognizable. I loved that for him because I think if a young reader gets their hands on this book, they could see a little of themself in this character.

While this is clearly a YA novel, it reads both a little older in the monster hunting and consequences, but younger in the way the characters behave. I this is the kind of fun summer adventure that everyone of all ages might enjoy, but I know some adults might find this to feel too young. But you know, just imagine that you're a teenager again living your best life through these characters.

I enjoyed seeing the stories through various perspectives because it's a thing I like, also because it helps a story feel like it's more rounded.

I'm sad this didn't get a lot of hype when it first came out--to the point where the third book is only available as an ebook. I'm currently reading the second and will eventually get my hands on the third book!

I highly recommend this for people who want quickly paced summer horror and monster stories that are just pure fun.

97. Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This. Book.

Phewwwwww.

A friend of mine read this book a while back and she mentioned that it was intense, maybe I should have listened to her. But you know what, I'm glad I underestimated it, because it means that it jarred me even more as I read it.

CHAIN-GANG ALL-STARS by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah was a RIDE. While it was definitely a story meant to put an emphasis on the systematic racism facing our society regarding the incarceration crisis, it also touched on society's obsession with sports and the televised (or via cellphones) murders we have increasingly been witnesses to--so many people share the morbid curiosity of seeing and/or filming that next viral video, no matter the chaos and troubling aspects of it. Consequences be damned.

CGAS felt like a hyper-form of this trend we are seeing more and more of on things like the clock app and YT.

I also loved how, thrown into the novel in intervals, we see advertisements and trademarks that literally thrive off being associated with these gladiator-style prisoners (who are predominantly Black).

And as the violence increases and takes us to a surprising conclusion, we meet a vast variety of characters and their backstories. We see crimes of various forms that beg the morality question of: Are their crimes worth their televised deaths, or future murders? At what point is a crime a justifiable reason for such a bloody sport? It definitely makes the reader put their morals into question. That's one of the reasons why I think this book can have readers who contemplate a world like this, and others who say "What the actual fuck is this?"

We also meet our main characters who help give this story even more life, especially when we meet two lovers who have vastly different approaches to their situations. One is a stoic and jaded woman who refuses to give her jailers the freedom of her voice, while the other is a woman who plays to what the audience wants because even though the hand they've been dealt is shit, she has to make the best of it--and if that means being the ray of hope in a bloody field, then so it shall be.

Needless to say, this book was amazing. It held so many interesting perspectives and offered such intriguing arguments. It showcased humanity and the deepest levels of its depravity. Often times an exploration of the crisis happening in North America, CGAS isn't a novel for everyone, but I think it's a darkly important read. Being faced with the horrors of what could be (and seeing even the boldest of supporters start questioning who they are) might be just what some people need to see how far society has fallen.

98. The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Re-read June 2023:

I forgot how fun this series is, but also how annoyed I was with one of the characters in this book. I had these mild memories coming in of the betrayal and I thought it was just a vivid dream, but no dice.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, especially because of the split perspective! I loved seeing the adventures of the FMC in Spain. That was a lot of fun and a nice escape from the MMC's misadventures in the States.

I will definitely be listening to the third book soon!

99. Pageboy by Elliot Page--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Elliot Page's PAGEBOY was such an eye-opening experience, in the best possible way. This was my first time reading a memoir about a person before and after their transition. It was a difficult read, since Page is very candid about his emotional distress as he spent years trying to find out why he felt so empty. Plus, the bigotry of Hollywood and its obsession about keeping him in the closet during his career must have been such an emotionally taxing experience.

One of the things that Page does in his memoir, which I've already mentioned, is just how candid his writing is. It felt like I was a friend that he was telling his life story. From who he slept with (sometimes with in-depth details), to how traumatizing his childhood was with his father and stepmother. He touched on so many Millennial touchstones, all while reminding us that all of this is happening in the background of his growing Hollywood career.

Surprisingly short, but with a hell of a punch, Page shares with us his deepest experiences and his deepest aches. I loved the moment where he finally found who he truly was, because while he faced even more difficulties, he was finally finding that inner piece he'd wanted for so long.

I highly recommend PAGEBOY--even if you don't know Elliot Page, I think it's an important read. You can't help but feel so much empathy for Page's struggle and honestly, I wish I could give him a big hug (with his consent of course). Be prepared to experience varying levels of emotions as one man shares with us his path to a better life.

Wide eye shaking intensifies 👀

Uhh...uhh *nervous paper shuffling*

They're embarrassing, but I do have one I've been day dreaming about! I can't include my Ghost fic because I do have a solid start on that, lol.

So! The one that's been really slapping me in the face is a dragon au. Yes, you heard me. A dragon au.

So I don't have a solid plot right now, or plan, but the jist is that Logan is raised by his sweet little grandmother, who's supposed to be around 97 years old and still going strong. She can still lift things, she's agile and has great strength. Anyhoot, Logan is secretly a bastard to the King, the half brother to Prince David, but no one knows Logan is, not even Elias. Only Logan's grandmother and one or two others know, and they keep Logan relatively safe from any potential threats.

Dragons "aren't real" yet his grandmother is always telling him stories of his people and how he comes from an ancient and royal bloodline. He doesn't believe her, and even if he did, his royal heritage would hold no power as his entire family and kingdom from 300+ years ago were wiped out by a massive black dragon (supposedly) with dazzling blue eyes.

Logan is skeptical, but his grandmother still tells him stories. To support them financially where they live in a small house on the outskirts of their little town, he helps on a farm, and even takes care of an older blind gentlemen, named Rorke. He often tells Logan stories as well when he cooks and helps clean. Rorke will sometimes hold Logan's face and stare at him, Logan swears Rorke can see him, even if he is blind.

Now, he's also trained by two local ex knights who left their order to pursue more serious threats rather than political agendas of their kings. Even though Logan doesn't believe in the dragon myth, he allows Merrick and Kick to train him in the art of using large bows and weapons with special made black arrows with obsidian tips. They can be dipped in oil and launched via large bows to take down dragons. (Once more, supposedly. Logan is that one character that refuses to believe in fantastical things even when their whole world has gone to chaos). This is actually supported by King Elias, who does believe dragons still exist and pose a serious threat to his people. There are others who train with Logan, but Merrick and Kick (who is usually dressed in all black and has a mask covering his face from his nose down) focus on Logan and what he can do. They're all well built, with strong arms for pulling large bow strings and even stronger legs to keep them in position.

One of the stories his grandmother tells him is of this ancient prince and his family. The Russ bloodline. It is believed they had the power to harness and control dragons, and that is how they fought and won their battles. They would give their enemies a chance to surrender, and then would call upon their dragons to wipe them all out when they didn't. King Perseus Russ, his wife Queen Evette Russ, and their two sons prince Keegan and prince Daniel are seen on a tapestry Logan's grandmother keeps in a chest in her room. None of them are smiling and Keegan looks just like his father. Same blue eyes and black hair. Daniel looks like his mother, with black hair and deep violet eyes. (I've actually made Daniel an OC of sorts. Not much is known about him, but Keegan is said to have had a little brother named Daniel)

Logan's grandmother relentlessly tells stories of the oldest prince as if she knew him personally, often times dragging Logan from his work as if trying to warn him.

After Logan looks at the tapestry, the long dead Prince's gorgeous blue eyes seem to constantly lure him in, and at one point he steals a drawn picture he finds with his grandmother's things. These eyes and his past haunt him until he can't ignore it any longer and some serious shit happens.

Ye, it's not great, it's not even good, BUTT, I have plans and am still working out the details. That's just one of many though, lol. My brain never stops 😭 send help LOL

(what's even better about this fic is that Keegan isn't necessarily a good guy, lol. He does some bad stuffs)

Morph from TAS was a childhood favorite, and I never thought I would see them again, but now they are continuing/rebooting the series, and Morph is there! Not forgotten or erased from continuity but actually part of the team! Based on the redesign, they will probably be more like their Exiles self, but that's cool, Exiles Morph can do a lot of amazing shape-shifting tricks, so maybe TAS Morph is getting a level-up.

It really changes a lot depending on what I'm into or in the mood for. If I'm on a Star Trek tear, then I'm all about these three:

Basically, I have several in rotation, and every now and then something will re-ignite my interest in one and I'll go down a whole rabbit hole and start posting about them.

Are ghosts cryptids? Because I'm gonna say ghosts, sort of. I don't really know what happens after you die, but it's not completely unbelievable to me that there's some kind of essence or soul left. And I believe people when they say they've seen weird shit, or had dreams about dead relatives, or what have you. Maybe some people are lying, maybe they had a weird dream or a hallucination, maybe there was a gas leak. Or maybe there are ghosts and some people can see things others can't.

I can't say I actually believe in ghosts, I've never seen any "ghost hunters" show that had any real proof or wasn't largely bullshit. But I can't say I completely disbelieve in them, either.

Maybe aliens, too, but not "buzzing cow pastures on Earth" aliens. Just that there must be some other life out there in the universe.

I feel like I should preface with this: I stand with victims of sexual assault, and in any case, I'm inclined to believe the victim over the accused assaulter. I know how hard it can be for people to come forward with this kind of thing, and how oppressing and silencing it can be from the accused. That being said, I have some devil's advocate things to say about ATL's allegations that started I think in 2021.

I was aware of the allegations when they first came out (I'm not on Twitter, so I found out through ATL's post refusing the claims on Instagram), and I basically just took a personal hiatus from the band without doing much research. I just read the Rolling Stones article about it, written in February of 2022 (I think), and they've covered all of what's happening, including ATL taking this to court. I recommend reading the article yourself, I found it to be very enlightening and interesting.

My first thing to say, which apparently lots of people have said, is the issue about there being 97 accusations. I'm torn between that being a ridiculous number, and the fact that this band has been around for a long time, and they have a lot of reach. Regardless, it's highly unlikely that every single accusation is false, so even if 97 is an exaggerated number, that doesn't mean it's okay to disregard this entirely. The odds of some of them being true are pretty high.

Also, there's no denying the band has been raunchy/creepy (their bra collection a wonderful example from a predominantly young and female audience), and Jack has been the biggest contributor to that. He's been the most inappropriate for the longest time, and I'm not sure how much he's outgrown that, simply because I haven't been keeping up with that much.

Now, I think it's worth pointing out that these guys formed this band while they were still in high school. They were teenagers when this started, and growing up like they have can't have been easy. If the allegations are false, it's easy to see how they might've had a difficult time growing up, and from what I know of men, childish humor can linger for a while (not saying this as a bad thing). I'm not stating this as fact because I simply don't know if this is the case or not.

If you read the Rolling Stones article, there was a Twitter poster who mentioned how Jack had signed his name on her boobs when she was 14 (he was an adult but I don't remember how old). She recalled how creepy this is, and how girls in the scene community are oversexualized, and I saw somewhere else mention all the mysoginistic lyrics songs in this community have. The poster I mentioned said she doesn't have personal feelings about what happened, just that it isn't okay. She also said she wishes the band made a statement of how they were young too, and reckless, and they may have harmed their fans in ways they didn't mean to, as opposed to what they're doing now, which is acting as if they've never done anything remotely controversial (which I think we can all agree isn't true). I agree with her on that, but it's also easy for me to do so.

Now, if even one of the allegations is true, that's one too many. The fact that these allegations are occurring at all is a red flag for me, because I find it unlikely that ATL fans would make these accusations without any inkling of truth - though I guess you never can tell with people. The Rolling Stones article mentioned one of the accusers essentially taking back what they said as they were just being petty with a peer (I think in the accuser's own words) and the accusations were false. For the person who said there are 97 allegations, I haven't seen any proof of there actually being this many, and no evidence brought up by the person who said this. It could be people went back on their word because they felt threatened or were attacked by fans, which we know is very likely. Again, I think this is something to consider.

Until we get the results of this court case, I'll probably keep my distance. I love this band, but I'm uncomfortable with all of this, and I just can't bring myself to support them in case any of this is true. They seem confident that every allegation is false, and I hope they are, but I also can't ignore potential victims, so this is the best I can do. If anyone else is on the fence, this is my advice to you - keep updated, trust the victims, and be open-minded.

For those of you who have written off this band entirely, that's valid. If you don't care about a single word I wrote, okay. I'm in a place, after much consideration, to take the stance I've taken here, and I might be wrong, and I'm fine with that. If you don't have any tolerance for this, that's totally fair, and I'm not trying to change your mind. Just please don't attack me for that, because I think about this a lot and I struggle with it just fine without some random people I'll never meet calling me horrible or an apologist for it. Do what you gotta do in the wake of all this.

this was the first look and the first couple of pictures I've ever seen of Jaebeom, and although I wasn't present yet when it happened, mentally I'm still there and I cannot wait for him to maybe at least get his nose pierced again. YOU GUYS WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAS HAPPENED!! I've seen the posts of non-ahgase asking who the "piercing guy in GOT7" was, and I wish I had already been a kpop fan at that time, but alas. week one of #got7revival: bias & wrecker

bias: Jaebeom & Youngjae

jaebeom was the first member of GOT7 I found while looking for faceclaims for my fantasy novel about one and a half years ago ( march 2021 ) ; he got me and a friend into kpop and the rest is history. I love this weird cat guy ( affectionate ) with his twin moles and the utter passion and leadership he always brings to the table. I also adore that he talks about his depression and anxiety so relatively openly. he wouldn't need to, and yet he does, and I respect that a lot. it makes even me feel better about myself, and I thought I had a really good grip on mine.

once I knew the members and had gotten familiar with their character and all, I started gravitating towards youngjae as well. I sometimes wonder whether he wouldn't have been my ( actual / only ) bias in GOT7 if a) jaebeom wasn't so very special to me that it feels wrong to switch biases, and b) I had already known the members when I had gotten into GOT7, or if GOT7 hadn't been my very first group and I had already been much more familiar with how groups worked and all that. he's 97 percent shy, innocent maknae, and 3 percent a wicked minx who nobody can be mad at and I love that for him.

the bottom line is that I bias them both and they seem to be okay with having shared custody, if you wanna call it that. I'm calling it that now.

btw, I always consider those people the bias that I have a soft spot for, who I relate to on a personality level, who make me feel all warm and cozy when I watch them do their thing — and the wrecker is the one that just wrecks me with their visuals or voice or whatever it is. I can't look at them for long because that's overwhelming because they're so v attractive ( not saying my biases aren't, but the wreckers just take a bat and swing it at me, while the biases just don't cause that reaction in my brain ) idk, I hope this makes sense, but I've heard people describe biases as the ones that are in "first place" and the wreckers are trying to dethrone them and that's just not my definition of it. kakdif no hate tho! just wanted to explain that.

not to be a nerd on main about this, but we should stop transcribing 형 / 누나 and 오빠* / 언니 as bro / sis. linguistically they have very different connotations and it's kinda driving me up a wall as someone who's very invested and interested in languages, like, I do realize that especially casual watchers of like kdramas, who just started getting into them after Netflix or whomever added a bunch of them to their library, don't really care and that's totally fine with me! it's a considerably small thing, and if you just wanna watch something without diving into the language or culture or anything, then you're totally free to, that's valid, honestly

just. that's not what those words mean, connotation-wise and every time I read "bro!" or "sis!" in Netflix's or even YT's subtitles I die a bit inside.

obviously I'm not Korean and if anyone who speaks the language well / lives in Korea and is well familiar with when those are used, wants to weigh in, feel absolutely free to!

but to break it down briefly, those are honorifics attached to a person's name if they're older than you, but not, like, significantly. older students, older colleagues at work if you're a bit more friendly with them, friends, and ( your actual ) siblings. they are normal and do not immediately imply you view the other person as a sort of sibling from another parent.

yes, they do basically translate to "older brother" / "older sister", but transcribing it with "bro" and "sis" respectively has an entirely different impact than what they are actually supposed to infer. it's a polite suffix, that can in certain situations also imply trust or a more intimate relationship, because otherwise ( especially outside of a school context ) you'd use 씨 ( shee ) after their name. just that nobody especially in a school context does that because they use 형 ( hyeong / hyung ) / 누나 ( noona ) and 오빠* ( oppa ) / 언니 ( eonnie / unnie ) — former is used by males and latter by females, both times to address an older 'brother' / an older 'sister' respectively — either alone or after their name.

the companion piece is adding 아 or 야 (-a for names with a consonant at the end or -ya for those with a vowel ) to the names of people younger than you ( or those you're close with ) — and for example in All Of Us Are Dead they do that all the time and it's not transcribed by cutesy-fying their names is it now. they just put their names into the subtitles and move on.

I personally think it'd be much better to simply use you in any other sentence and if some character yells 형! across the room in distress, to transcribe it with the other character's name for emphasis. that's for me personally the closest, connotation-wise.

or, you know, have hyeong / noona / eunnie / oppa* in the transcript / subtitles in italics and explain it with some translator annotation the first time it appears alone. but that's generally an issue with subtitles on such platforms I feel. they remove words when creating the subtitles and leave out such nuances because gods forbid they'd force casual viewers to pause the show to read the annotations akskdkf. either way,

tl;dr they don't use teen slang in kdramas all the time even if the subtitles would have you believe otherwise and it's probably a problem that stems from companies thinking they can't "bother" their customers with having to pause to read, but I think that's simply taking away important context to a depicted story and I'd really like it to stop, thank you.

*oppa is a bit special because it is also used as a sort of term of endearment by women towards their boyfriends, or like, when they flirt with them pre-relationship, so it can also imply a romantic interest, be mindful of that. but I'd assume then it'd be transcribed with some sort of babe or honey or something.
