AAWWWWWWW aaaaaaawwwww thank you so much 😭😭😭 I honestly just go with my guts in picking pictures that could work as header so there's not really a correct way to do it,, but thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you like it!!

Was this asking for actual advices? I can't tell and in any case I usually go by feel and admittedly have no real confidence in what I do to feel like I can give actual advices but in any case some expedients I do use:

just keep an eye open for pictures that approximately fit a 640×360 ratio. Pictures with plain color at the bottom look extra good, so that you can have them smoothly fade on a background of the same color. It'll likely look nice when you can't tell where the header ends and the blog starts~ Keep in mind that the top ⅓ of the image is going to be covered by icons, so you'll want the focus point to be placed on the bottom ⅔.

I usually colorpick all the customizable colors (title color / accent / background) directly from the header picture– Tumblr allows you to insert hex codes, so that's nice. I then change the values with what works better, but I believe it makes a good start so that all the colors look good together

Finally, keep in mind that all of this comes from someone who uses Tumblr version 23.3, so who has pretty much no clue how Tumblr mobile looks past Feb 16th, 2022 ;;;;;;;;
