Text
i finished a complete kingdom by komodobits last night and boy did that fic just FUCK me up. like first of all it’s terrifying and last night i kept dreaming that i was awake like dean did throughout the whole story. and also that ending is THE most fucked up ending of all time! like what was real and what wasn’t??? who the fuck even knows? did they hang the curtains?? or was that last terrifying scene what was real??? and “come on sweetheart. you’re doing so well” just??? everything about it left me feeling so unsettled

2022
I didn't read a lot of books, or write a lot of fic, or even watch a lot of TV, but I did play a lot of video games!
my real life is a bit of a controlled mess right now, this year I had a medical procedure and a minor breakdown and moved suddenly because covid malfeasance in the city terrified me and I think I need to be with family right now after we've had several family deaths over the years. one day I'd like to move back there but only when I can afford to live alone, which is definitely not in the cards any time soon with how the rental market is looking.
I am proud that I started posting and finished Tides, Receding this year. because I started writing it... three years ago? oh god I just looked it up and it was Feb 2020 that I made the post that ended up spawning the fic. and I told myself 2022 was the year I'd get it done, it's been sitting in my lap too long, and I did it. (party horn noise)
anyway my 2022 game list is under the cut, check it out for recs or whatever. this does not include the games i replayed, which included HZD, DAI, and FE3H, but lbr I'm always replaying those games in my heart
Puzzle games:
The Last Campfire (4/5): Play as a little... thing...? lost from its companions trying to find its way home. Some of the puzzles were a little too simple but this was a short and sweet game.
TOEM (5/5): Play as a tourist taking photos around various places and cities. perfect little photography game with cute side objectives and diverse landscapes.
Inscryption: I ended up abandoning this one during Part 2 because it just didn't hook me and I was hanging on by a thread with the creepiness as it was, but Part 1 was a lot of fun and I'd recommend it for anyone who's a fan of card games, escape rooms, horror, or Yugioh.
Unpacking (4.5/5): Unpack the protagonist's life across various moves. I loved this, my only criticism is that it was too short; I'd love more levels.
Into the Breach (4.5/5): Play as groups of time travelers trying to stop aliens from taking over several war-torn archipelagos in a turn-based combat system. the actual game (till the end credits) is great, the combat system is clear and intuitive. the story is pretty short, but progress carries over at the end cause time-travel. I could've gotten more mileage out of this one, but ultimately burned out cause I wanted to do more than just play the same levels all over again with different units.
FRAMED collection (3.5/5): I guess? for a cool concept—adjust comic panels and strips to help the characters progress through levels—it was a bit forgettable. still, nice for a few hours and probably cool for big comic fans.
Please Touch the Artwork (3/5): An abstract game that combines puzzles with modern art. Oof. I had to give some stars for effort cause I felt like the concept was cool, but I just couldn't get into this one. someone who enjoys both might like it?
Elli (3.5/5): Play as a guardian in a 3D platformer, search for gems and coins, try not to get swallowed by the time rifts. I remember really enjoying this this fall, but now that I'm writing this wrap-up, I barely remember playing it. I liked the puzzles a lot but I think it went on a little long.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion (4.5/5): You're a turnip. You rip up taxes in a sentient veggie world. need I say more.
Later Alligator (3.5/5): Play as an Alligator in Alligator New York City and do puzzles and solve crimes. it's adorable, it is, but I wish it was a little more forgiving; if you fuck up a puzzle, you lose so much time in an already limited day cycle.
Rain on Your Parade (4/5): Play as a cloud. Rain on people's parades, wedding days, office parties, whatever. Snow, thunder, acidic goo, you name it. go goblin mode. probably ideal for kids.
Moncage (3.5/5): solve environmental puzzles within a six-sided cube matching elements up across different sides of the cube to affect the scene. very similar to Goragoa, for the three other people who've played that game. short, beautiful, zen game, but man was it hard sometimes or I’m just an idiot. thank goodness for the hint system
Narrative games:
Heaven's Vault (3.5/5): You play as a young woman charged with tracking down a missing archaeologist across the galaxy with a robot companion. Really cool mechanic in this one where you decipher an ancient language as the main gameplay. RPG style choices set across make me want to rate it higher than I have, but some clunkiness (like not being able to revisit sites once you've left) knock it down. Someone once called this made by people who "want to bring archaeology to games but don't known how to make a game" which I agree with.
Tacoma (5/5): You explore an abandoned corporate space station trying to figure out what happened. Honestly, no notes. Interesting narrative, easy mechanics, great writing, doesn't overstep or overstay its bounds.
When the Past Was Around (3.5/5): got stuck on a couple dumb things that the game wouldn't let me interact with, and some other things were really not that intuitive, but other than that I thought this was short and serviceable, good for an afternoon with a sad story.
Wytchwood (4/5): Play as a witch who's charged with collecting twelve souls to deliver to a talking goat in a fairy-tale world. not really a narrative game but it's not puzzle or an RPG, so here it goes. anyway I had a lot of fun with this game. some of the backtracking was annoying and I wish the resource management was a little easier to, well, manage, but overall I enjoyed it.
Forgotten Fields (3/5): Play as a young author traveling home as his family decides whether to sell their home. Honestly a bit let down by this, there were some clunky mechanics I couldn't get over but it had interesting topics about moving on and finding artistic inspiration.
Adios (4/5): A pig farmer decides to quit his job disposing bodies for the mafia. Great voice work in this one, I enjoyed it; even though you know how it's going to end, they still managed to make it suspenseful.
RPGs/Open-world:
Horizon Forbidden West (3.5/5): I think I've already expressed my thoughts on this one this year but overall: great open-world game, mechanically and visually impressive; just OK story, unless you were a big fan of the first game, in which case the story was a big letdown.
Sable (4.5/5): Play as a young girl on her rite of passage as she travels a harsh world called Midden. hard for me to rate any open-world game as perfect because eventually some parts of it somewhere feel like padding, but despite some technical hiccups, Sable is the peak for me. non-combat, vibes-only, beautiful graphics, incredible soundtrack, easy recommend.
Control (3.5/5): Play as Jesse Faden, who arrives at the Federal Bureau of Control looking for her brother after his disappearance several years ago. this never wow'd me the way it was clearly trying to but I did enjoy it, whenever I could get over my fear of anything that moved. gameplay itself was great and i loved the oldest house as a setting. probably fans of the supernatural/horror genre could appreciate it better.
Citizen Sleeper (4/5): play as a cyborg who arrives on a space station and tries to make their way in the corporate underworld. a bit like Disco Elysium meets Murderbot Diaries. there's no combat, so I'd recommend this to fans of the RPG genre.
Paradise Killer (4.5/5): Play as Lady Love Dies in an island out of time, full of gods and demons and human sacrifices tired of being human sacrifices. Someone has been murdered in Paradise and you have to find out who did it. I had SO much fun with this one and the soundtrack is admittedly a huge reason why. (I'm serious listen to Ego 24-7 and tell me it doesn't get you pumped.)
Persona 5 Royal (4.5/5): the Phantom Thieves steal the hearts of corrupt people throughout Tokyo with their inner Pokemon-like demons and man this concept is cool, the soundtrack is killer, the only thing that fucking sucks is the unapologetic sexism that is unavoidable and irritating AF. (am I a little bitter I paid full price for this only a week before it went on sale for half off, yes. but I got a lot of mileage out of this that week during which when I was preparing for a medical procedure, so.)
God of War (4.5/5): Kratos and Boy travel to the highest peak in the realms to spread his wife's ashes. honestly? it's best enjoyed as a guy who enjoys puzzling going on a long walk with his son. as an action game it's meh.
Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (5/5): I am PETER PARKER and I can throw MANHOLE COVERS at people while insulting their OUTFITS it is hard to top that
still playing:
Phoenotopia Awakening: A young woman named Gale sets on a journey to rescue the adults in her village after they are all mysteriously kidnapped. I haven't finished this one yet cause I hit a wall but ugh I just want to recommend it somewhere. there is so much love in the little details in this game, so many characters and puzzles and enemy types and history, you can tell so much heart went into this that I'm disappointed it won't get a sequel. my biggest criticism for it is that it is HARD, unnecessarily so at times, and there are no difficulty settings which sucks. but it might be good for Zelda fans or people who are good at 2D platforming, which I am not.
Eastward: Sam and John live in an underground town where travel to the surface is forbidden, until a mysterious event triggers Sam's magical powers and the mayor banishes them... eastward. I want to like this more than I am, the post-apocalyptic concept is very in-line with what I like, but jesus this writing feels like it never saw an editor. it just drags. I don't know how many times I can button-mash past Sam saying "Come on, John!" the game is beautiful, the designers and animators really earned their paychecks, but IDK the jury's still out.

As the resident fan of weird, unnerving and uncomfortable fic, it’s October and I was wondering if you had any destiel horror fic recommendations? Like ACK, but not that because I’ve read it. Ideally longish and canon-ish, but honestly I’d like to hear any horror fic recs.
while i love horror, i tend to steer clear of horror fanfic because the conventions of fanfic and the conventions of horror don't really line up? like the problem is that in horror you really need to be able to like. you need the possibility of a really serious bad ending. you need to be able to have the characters potentially both do and experience awful things. but this requires characters that you are not attached to to work. fanfic writers tend to pull their punches, so fics like white noise and to a lesser extent the inexhaustible silence of houses that i really enjoy 90% of end up having unsatisfying conclusions because they pull their punches, like they are unwilling to leave relationship threads unresolved or have really bad things happen to the characters or have the characters do really bad things.
and that's fine! like it's fine that fanfic is just a bad genre for more traditional horror. personally, i'm also a wuss! i still haven't read every part of the animal, despite how many times it's been recced to me, because i hear that no punches are pulled and i just don't wanna see that happen to my little guys!!
(edit: i've been recced this twice in the last day)
and like there are ways to pull on horror elements. i've definitely seen fics in other fandoms that, for example, pull on like, the ghost story genre to talk about a canonically dead character haunting another character, or similar sort of magical character/relationship study stuff where the magic and mysticism of it is of the spooky sort. but i don't see a ton of this in spn. mostly i think because spn is like relentlessly modernist, like, everything in it, even magic, exists within a system that makes sense. dean's ghost can't haunt cas because we can simply salt and burn it, you know? we know how ghosts work. and this kind of mystical character study (which is a genre of fanfic all its own that includes all kinds of things, not just horror and ghost stories) is common in fandoms where the source material isn't very supernatural. it doesn't really work as well with explicitly supernatural source material. and especially not with spn (which is, again, relentlessly modernist and sapped of magic).
(edit: i do think the reality of the thing seen is maybe a good example of this for supernatural though).
and then you have the final category of horror adjacent fic which is, well, darkfic. and that... feels like a cop-out as a fic reccer? like, is with understanding a masterpiece of psychological horror? i mean, yes, obviously. but it's not really what i'd call a halloween read. and then there's more slash-happy titles on the other side of the darkfic coin, like number 1 crush, but again: it's not horror. it's darkfic. they have different conventions. you know?

I remember being introduced to the concept of ethnic cleansing unknowingly thanks to a Danny phantom fic. I remember I thought it was one of the most cruel and merciless things that could be done to someone, the helplessness and anger I felt when I finished reading was overwhelming, however, I consoled myself a little with the fact that it was a dystopia and did not happen in real life. Until I found out that it did happen in real life, and the way it affected a massive amount of indigenous communities that to this day is recognized as genocide, left me in shock.
The thought of being stripped of your identity, your culture, your family, while you see that the people responsible are quietly sitting back because they think they are doing you a favor, while insulting your roots, is enough to make you scream until your throat bleeds. It is truly a horror story.
If that's Draxxum's plan, then I don't think any punishment planned for him would be enough. The minimum i would ask, Whatever happens to him, let him know that he brought it on himself.
PD: i think is made clear that Donnie will not recover his memories before the war begin, And that when he does, the realization of the consequences of what he has done will be devastating. Almost enough to fill an entire arc😉?
What is WITH Danny Phantom and fucked up fan content? Seriously, the most horrifying, fucked up shit I've found has been in the Danny Phantom and the Yugioh fandoms-and the Yugioh fanworks were mostly just horny in really weird directions. Growing up I assumed that it was just the general age of the Phandom, that we were just at that point where we started becoming aware of the fucked up shit around us and were using fanfic and fanart to explore it. Which was definitely at least partially the case, but holy shit. Other cartoon fandoms generally don't have a vivisection genre. I don't know what it is about that show that brings this shit out in us. (I say this with love and affection-I have loved that show for almost twenty years)
I can't really say I recommend it, because it's not a book you enjoy reading, but I had to read First They Killed My Father a few years ago for a class, which is a first-hand account of a child during the Cambodian Genocide. I physically could not eat while I read this. I had no appetite. I'd have to put the book down and go do something else for a while before I could think about food. I generally consider myself a pretty stoic, hardened person when it comes to that kind of stuff-I recognize that it's horrible and feel bad, but it doesn't really upset me, if that makes sense. I remember reading one article about the Khmer Rouge that mentioned a specific tree they would use to kill infants-yeah, that is one of the only times I've ever had to say "I mentally cannot handle finishing this" and closed the tab.
The author describes being recruited as a child soldier and being told that they're the pride of the Khmer Rouge and that Pol Pot loves all his children. She's sitting there and remembering the people who starved to death in her original work camp while they loaded up food onto trucks to be sold internationally. Parents pleading with soldiers for more food because their children were actively starving. Being told "we only need two million people for our perfect society. We don't need them." It's a kind of rage and despair that you don't totally understand how to feel because it's not your own.
Like so many other things that Draxum does, it's a bit different because he's been there. His people were attacked because they were Yokai. His culture wasn't actively suppressed, but the Hidden City was so big and so few of his people made it there in the first place that most of their practices and traditions were replaced or simply died. No one speaks the Nordic language he grew up speaking. And he's not the kind of villain that just wants to make everyone suffer because he did. He's very aware that what he's doing is wrong-he just thinks that it's better than the alternatives.
Oh. Oh man. I have plans for Donnie. And yes, you should read that with an air of foreboding.

Hey, it’s nice to see you around again! I saw you say you are reading a fan fic soon? That’s cool that you are getting back into it. Do you have any recommendations? :0
Heeeeeey! ❤️ Here, I finally consider myself having read 'enough' Bloodborne fanfics, sooooo let me just share a few! Though I will be sincere; my selection of characters and themes to read is a bit narrow (for now), I do not read anything in the row x) Let's see!
This is a short and finished fanfic that explains the mechanics of Micolash's mirrors teleportation from alchemical and occult standpoint, as well as HOW and WHY he is 'the Host of the Nightmare' and... without any exagerration or flattery?
This is basically all I've ever wanted from fanfiction about Micolash. I was honestly impressed by alchemical and historical knowledge elaborated and how precisely it is explained how things WORK. Fictional universe giving very exact formulas, mechanics and rules of worldbuilding always felt like absolutely next-level thing for me, and something I think Bloodborne fandom REALLY needs. ESPECIALLY regarding the dark academia horror related characters like Micolash. Writing level is also very good.
ALSO, this particular fanfic made me realise something about School of Mensis that BLEW my mind, so I will bring up a bit from it in another post, stay tuned in
Tumblr media
(Not to mention that I am absolutely in love with this portrayal of 'early' Micolash, only just having set a foot on his path to insanity, being very stubborn and determined yet clearly having no realistic esteem of how HARD this way will be. Almost childish naivety of a boy that fell in love with inhuman knowledge...)
Now finished works end. x) This fanfic I actually got recommended several times as one of like, two people that love Edgar. I am already enjoying it VERY much, it was definitely worth the hype from my friends I'll say.
It is written in the style of letters and diary notes mostly by Edgar, though sometimes scribbles of other characters are found and... Well, in this case, I did not KNOW I needed this. I absolutely love reasonable and analytical approach of Edgar and how well old English is imitated. (I personally also find this fanfic very handy as a reference to how people in Bloodborne setting would talk, since I just can't imitate this style as someone for whom English is not even the first language... Thank you for teaching me 5000 old-fashioned synonyms. )
Honestly, I think this is the best format for describing Edgar's slow descent into insanity possible; we can see how he loses his objective and falls in love with Micolash through his eyes, it illustrates the progression much more effectively than third face writing would in my opinion. I would not even call it a ship fanfic not yet at least?, he falls in love not with a man but with a cult leader but that is... even better? I don't want to spoil at what point the fanfic is right now as I write this post, but it was SO awesome that I've been thinking about it all day. Without irony, I want Whatever This Is even more than normal "ship" now o_o'
This is also a work in progress, an ambitious project to tell the full story of discovery of the Old Blood and Pthumerian secrets, getting help of Cainhurst in investigations, all the researches, forming of the Healing Church and so on so on...
I am really impressed that Fantomette, as someone without prior experience with writing (and not speaking English as native language, like me) jumped to something so big. But honestly? I've had a lot of fun reading this story. It is just... so many characters, so many themes, and chapters are written absolutely correctly in how they lead events from point A to point B and how the mood changes. There is never too much emotion+information, and never not enough. I don't know how to explain it well as I am still a visual artist, not a writer, but it legit feels like watching a fun TV show! You get invested.
I will be blunt; skill, artistry, grammar (especially in foreign language), sometimes even consistency... they all are important but there is always time to develop them. The most, and most, and MOST important thing for the writing, without which NO skill matters is to be entertaining and engaging. And this fanfic did entertain me and did make me care about what was going on, so of course I can recommend it with clear conscience.
(Also, side note, I gave her many advices on how to improve this or that sentence and pointed out some wrongly used synonyms or typos... I was worried that I'd accidentally destroy her self-esteem, but she has been receiving constructive criticism very well and is willing to improve. Like.. I can just say this person has talent and will go very far.)
Tumblr media
So yeah! Waiting for the latter two to get more chapters and be finished.. and also hoping for more stuff like the first one please!
I'd say I am very particular on the 'gives my blorbo a justice' fanfics, and those that either do not focus on a ship or make it weeeeeeeird. Each of the listed fanfics are an example of what I am after; exploration and exact explanation of the science and magic, study of a character and their progress as a person, and detalization of 50000 events and characters that formed Yharnam's story! If you got some more, let me know too!

For fic recs, outsiders and lifesteal.
cracking my knuckles
(for both of our sanity, i'm going to avoid recommend any of my own work, though it most definitely is out there, lol ;; fics aren't in any particular order than the order i remembered them in!)
Outsiders SMP:
Six Flares Series by kmsquill — Warnings: Major Character Death, Lots of Angst, Blood & Violence — An always recommendation for reading, though I haven't finished the rewritten version, Quill's work is always good. This is focused on the general cast, though different fics diverge and focus on different characters, it runs c!Rasbi-centric Sick, Sick, Sick! by ORPHIC__CAE — Warnings: Drowning — One of my other favorites! I won't say too much to avoid spoilers, but it's focused on c!Owen post-reunion Poor Wandering Man by tbhmellohi — Warnings: N/A — An unfinished fic that can read like a oneshot, it's yet another in the list of c!Owen-centric fics, this one is canon divergent and just overall lovely. Pretty Much Dead Already by tbhmellohi — Warnings: Major Character Death — This one comes with a not-quite warning, since it's a c!Ori-centric zombie apocalypse AU. It is what it says on the tin, however! The characterization here is one of my favorites. Would It Have Been A Mercy To Accept His Fate? Series by Fluffyfifi22 — Warnings: Major Character Death — An AU where c!Owen survives the Meltdown and tails the group during their escape attempt, it's one of my absolute favorite series and a big inspiration to me personally Two Sides Of The Same Coin by Cantspell — Warnings: N/A — Want a break from the angst train? This is about as fluffy and a little silly as it gets. A crossover fic that entails c!Owen and r!Owen winding up in the same world and having to get along, it's sweet and silly for the most part (Self-Indulgence Recommendation) Where The Dust Settles by AvoxUtopia — Warnings: Character & Animal Death, Violence, Blood & Injury — The only fic of mine I'll recommend here: a fan season of the STARR series, it follows a menagerie of original characters in the same settings as Outsiders SMP. Currently in the last stretch of the 3rd Arc!
Lifesteal:
Glass Box by raetae — Warnings: N/A — An s3 Vitalasy-centric fic, there's a lot of references and mentions of people's projects and alliances; it's a good break from the typical contenders for fics! Heartstruck by tempurabbg — Warnings: Violence, Injury — Branzy-centric, it's recently been updated and it's one of my current favorite fics in the fandom Blood Is Sweeter Than The Taste Of Home by EclipsedMoons — Warnings: Cannibalism — Planetlord is a fallen star, he has to eat. Honestly that's just the fic summary but it puts it perfectly. I've talked about this fic briefly on tumblr before? Dear Prince, Held At Arm's Length by MaNicWriting — Warnings: Violence, Body Horror — A royalty AU centered around Branzy/Clown, it's one of the fics I've recommended to multiple people before. Looking Through You, Not At You by Thrills — Warnings: Almost Character Death, Fate Worse Than Death — Vigilante / Superpower AU, this is one I won't say much about because it's one that's 100% worth a blind readthrough aside from reading the tags (Archive Locked) La Petite Mort by whichlights — Warnings: Major Character Death, Violence — Do I have words for this fic? Nope. It's just wormed its way into my brain and will not leave. Digital in Reciprocation by Anonymous — Warnings: Referenced Suicide, Violence — Another one that's wormed its way into my skull. I'd type more about this one (it deserves all the words, frankly) however it's 6am and I should sleep
Aaaaaand that's a wrap for now! I can probably scrounge up some more good recs when I've had a chance to actually work through bookmarkings the fics I like (I keep forgetting to do that and digging through my history is an experience in and of itself.)
Tumblr media
Also, to answer this! I did go for some more basic fics, since they're always a safe bet, but basically everything here is actually fics I recommended to one of my friends when it was getting into the fandoms :3

I have been eating up all of your writing and have nothing but Michael Myers/Chromeskull/Collector brainrot lol. I do want to get into writing fanfics since I've spent too much time dedicating my life to roleplay, however I've never used tumblr and have yet to get accustomed to it. Would you have any tips for someone starting out? Perhaps any blogs that you could direct me towards?
Thank you so much! ❤️
My first piece of advice would be to just start! Posting that first piece of writing is the biggest step.
Proofread, for sure. You want a nice, polished fic that’s easy to read. That being said, don’t worry if you make a typo here and there. I do it all the time 😂
I used to say “tags are your friend,” but I don’t even know if they work anymore. Well, tag anyway. It keeps your writing organized (ish) and it’s easier for people to find your work. We do what we can to get our work out there even though tumblr seems to want to make it as difficult as possible.
Along that same vein, make a Masterlist! Then, readers can easily binge all your work.
My next piece of advice is a source of frustration for me and many others. Very few readers on tumblr reblog things anymore, making it quite difficult for others to find our work. It’s discouraging, not gonna lie.
My way around this is to make friends in this fandom and reblog each other’s witting. It definitely helps, and having friends with similar interests can really motivate and inspire you.
Lastly, take requests. I’ve found my follower count goes up exponentially when I have requests open. Engaging with your readers will generate excitement and interest in your blog! Make sure your rules and what you will and won’t write are easily accessible so you don’t get a barrage of inappropriate requests.
There are a great number of amazing writers and researchers in this fandom I can recommend:
@the-slasher-files @slasherholic @bisexual-horror-fan @horrorslashergirl @slashersins @stay-outta-my-blood-circle @slasherhaven @quiveringdeer @tinalbion @sp00kworm @thedeathdoctor
I’ve forgotten so many blogs so anyone can reblog this and add their favorites!

Hello! Just wanted to pop in and say I absolutely love and adore your stories, and wanted to thank you for creating them and still working on them. You’re doing absolutely amazing and coming across your fics again (I’m the anon from earlier this week) and they’ve made me happier than I’ve been in such a long time, so thank you so much for that.
And im hoping it’s okay, that is if you don’t mind, if I ask if you have any fanfic recs from some of the fandoms you write for? Such as twilight, twd, tvdu, spn, Marvel etc. to help hold me alongside any others who are patiently waiting for your fics? Honestly how you write Id absolutely trust anything you’d recommend and give them a try! If not, that’s totally fine too and I hope you’re having a great week and that I appreciate you and all your hard work <3
oh gosh! thank you so much!! damn! I’ve never been asked for Recs before!! okay! here are some (SOME because i have more) of my FAVORITE writers so definitely give them a looky!
@chuckbass-love - Chris Evan Characters!

i saw ur thoughts on krisnix in response to that ask while scrolling thru the tag and YESS U GET IT! do you have any fave krisnix fics? i only recently got into the ship so i haven’t read much yet
Aw thank you, Anon. I'm very relieved to hear that you (and to my surprise, a couple others) feel this way; it means a lot to me!
I'd be more than happy to recommend a couple of my favourites! Going through their Ao3 tag can be a lot of 'Phoenix pairing with "background" or "implied" krisnix for 2 seconds,' so if I can save anyone else from sifting through some of it then by all means.
I'll try to include word count and the fic's rating in case you (or anyone else who sees this) wants to avoid the more graphic content. As with any fic, please mind the tags! If you're new to krisnix, they aren't a fairytale love story so I'd avoid the pair if unhealthy relationships and dramatics aren't your cup of tea. Recs in no particular order below the break:
Surviving You - M - 80k words. - Definitely one of the first fics that comes to mind. Well written and all the psychological horror and development I've come to enjoy and respect out of krisnix.
Breaking and Entering - E - 4.4k words - An add-on to "Surviving You." Author Pantswarrior has a couple great krisnix complimentary stories to SY but this is hands down my favourite.
Inheritance - G - 3.2k words - I'm not usually a fan of works that mention Kristoph's execution, but this one hits a really niche area of sweetness while maintaining character dynamics.
Irrevocable - E - 6.9k words - Has one of my favourite Kristoph lines of any fic and ends on a note that summerises the krisnix experience well to me.
all there is - E - 6.4k words - This one is emotionally heavy and somehow still manages delightfully funny moments at the same time. It's a Krisnix/Wrightworth yo-yo with wonderful Beanix characterisation, if I recall correctly.
Malady - T - 1.4k words - Perfect imagery and more delicious phychological food (which includes literal food!) Yum yum, eat it up.
Time in the Air - NR - 773 words - Short, simple and well captured inner monologue. Love the narrative.
Tight Leash - T - 1.4k words - A chance Edgeworth and Kristoph meet up that lives rent free in my head. Plus there are dogs which makes it a 10/10 fic.
Ophelia - E - 4.3k words - I love the Kristoph perspective, overall characterisations, and mind games. Extremely well written and some seriously insane acts of devotion that really stuck with me.
I'm sure there are others but these were the main ones that came to mind. I hope you can find something you enjoy among them! If anyone else has any Krisnix fics they'd like to recommend to me or Anon, feel free to reblog this or hit up my inbox.
Thanks for the ask and allowing me to share more of my interest, Anon! Feel free to reach out again if you ever want to discuss these destructive idiots and all their unhealthy chemistry. 😌

2021/1/8 Fic Rec Repost
In the fic rec post that is going around, I make reference to a previous recommendation post. This was a post which I made back on January 8th, 2021. I posted it on my liveblog, since it was inspired by a request for more Homestuck fics I liked by an anon on that blog. I recently realized that I had not reblogged it here, and so rather than do so, I decided to list the recommendations on a new post, without the formatting errors which bug me about the original post. In my last fic rec post, I chose fic which I thought would be broadly appealing, but in this rec post, since I was responding to an inquiry about my personal favorites, i included some fairly dark stories, and some of them deal with some potentially triggering content. Please read the content tags! You should read the content warnings anyway, but I’m just saying. Take care of yourselves, yeah?
Independent Fics (not part of a series)
Battlestuck [Various Authors] - The beta kids and beta trolls in the Battle Royale universe. Like BR, this fic is full of extremely explicit violence. It is definitely not for everyone. However, it is very good.
Detective Pony [Sonnetstuck] - A children’s book about horses and horse girls edited by Dirk into a labyrinthine treatise on the meaning of fiction and the self. A great fic for all HS fans, and a must-read for any Dirk enjoyers.
General Vantas Gets Hitched, or, The Limits Of Bilateral Diplomacy: A Black Powder Romance [JumpingJackFlash] - Black powder fantasy AU. King John of Skaia and Karkat are put in an arranged marriage in order to end the war between Skaia and the Empire. Full of a lot of fun character interaction and a bit of hurt/comfort adjacent stuff near the end. A fic that feels very 'comfy' to me.
Guilty by Association [mtjester] - This is one of the ones with a darker premise. High school human AU. In the aftermath of Damara and Rufioh's breakup, Damara starts sexually assaulting Tavros, while Meenah and Cronus try to protect him without letting word get out. Well written, fascinating characterization, but it depicts the sexual violence fairly explicitly, so it’s obviously not for everyone.
Modern Cannibals [Bavitz] - This one is set in the 'real world'. Max gets becomes obsessed with Homestuck, and seems to abandon his friendship with Z. Determined to rescue her relationship, Z. gets Max, her other friend Kiki, and Kiki’s boyfriend Cal to take a road trip to Las Vegas where Andrew Hussie will make an appearance. As they approach this heart of darkness, reality starts to warp and fracture.
The Serendipity Gospels [urbanAnchorite] - No SBURB AU Alternia, focusing on Terezi and Gamzee, and their developing black romance. Gospels stopped updating before its originally planned ending, but it does have something of a 'season 1 finale' type ending. The author of this fic is now a published author, and her works have a fandom of their own here on tumblr. If you liked the skull facepaint, the pseudochristian death cult stuff, and the antagonistic yet romantically charged relationship elements in Gideon the Ninth, maybe you'll like this bit of the author's early work.
Straw Soldiers [Lucid_Dream] - A personal favorite of mine. No SBURB shared universe AU. The Alternian Empire sets its eyes on Earth, and Karkat’s blood color makes him an ideal candidate for a spy, whether he wants to be or not. Action, tension, angst, comfort, a deeply enjoyable read. The first act has some body horror, as Karkat's body is modified to make him appear human, but this is absent in the second act, which mainly takes place on Earth.
Unwanted Free Ugly Troll [Orphan Account] - One of the most popular fics in the fandom. No SBURB Earth AU. Trolls are sentient beings which are treated as domesticated animals by humans. The Striders adopt one, then two, then become activists for troll rights.
Series
Cyberbunny Apocalypseverse [Curlicuecal] - When the game ends, Lil Hal and Lil Seb get separated from the kids, and wake in a new universe with cyborg bodies. In a world of tension between cyborgs, humans, trolls, and carapacians, these castaway Striders struggle to find Sawtooth and Squarewave, meet this universe's version of minor HS characters, and deal with the struggles of being human.
The Golden Age [elanor_pam] - A utopian intergalactic society has discovered the Alternian Empire, and tries to reduce harm without prompting the Condesce to use the nuclear option of the Vast Glub. 'The Great Escape' is the standout fic in this series, though it has some content warnings you really ought to heed. Some troll kids, including Karkat, get kidnapped by slavers, resist their captors, and get rescued, and escape Alternian pursuit.
Happy reading!

Hi!
Did you see the GQ interview where they said Mina should star in a horror movie, with Nayeon saying that the twist is that Mina is the killer? I think Twice would be all for your ghostface au, too!
Your Twice band au reminds me of Fleetwood Mac and all the behind the scenes drama they went through making the masterpiece that is Rumours. As a Fleetwood Mac fan, I'm all for this idea!
But...I'm an even bigger Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, so option 2 is it for me. So...would Jihyo and Mina go down the Buffy and Angel path of falling in love? Is Sana solely interested in stopping Jihyo from killing Mina to save her empire and herself, or is there some love still there for Mina (you said her love took a backseat, not that it went away entirely)? Could there be a juicy love triangle? Haha. All I know is that Sana sounds scary as hell. Would Jihyo have a Scooby Gang to support her? I hope so, I don't like the idea of her only having a Watcher and having no other support system. :( I could definitely see Nayeon and Jeongyeon as Cordelia and Xander. Bickering all the time but that sexual tension is lingering under the surface.
You have so many great story ideas that I don't think you could go wrong with any of your options.
-😱
omg i literally saw that the other day! i love that twice are accidentally pushing my ghostface!minayeon agenda. nayeon was actually just trying to spoil the fact i’m directing the next scream movie where i hire mina to be ghostface.
daisy jones & the six was actually based off of fleetwood mac so technically so is the band au! since you’re a fleetwood mac fan i 1000% recommend you check out daisy jones & the six. the show is pretty good if you haven’t read the book. but i would suggest you listen to the audiobook, it’s relatively short but god it’s soooooo good. it’s about a band from the 70′s who becomes super successful and then splits up after their tour and for 40 years they don’t speak about the group until someone makes a documentary. there’s a lot of drama, sexual tension, and drugs. it’s super fun! plus the characters are *chefs kiss*. like i really can’t recommend this story enough!
i love buffy too! it’s such a phenomenal show, i just re-watched it not too long ago and thought it would be cool to make a crossover with the vampire diaries universe. hence, this fic idea! you might be onto a few things *cough* love triangle *cough* i’m really considering writing this since people seem to be on board with the idea! i’m not sure how much i should give away right now. in case some people want the direction of the story and the characters motivations and stuff to be a surprise! so what i will say is humanity is unpredictable and love can make people do a lot of things :) i was contemplating adding a little slayer gang to the mix! since she started her journey as the slayer so young, she didn’t really have too much time to make friends or get to be a normal teen. plus, with her always being thrown into dangerous situations it would be hard to have friends. knowing that your presence will attract danger to them no matter how hard you try to protect them from it. but it really would be cruel to make her go through the motions (get it?? i made myself giggle) of being a slayer by herself. so maybe the watcher recruits some novice vampire hunters (aka 2yeon) to help them out.
and thank you so much!! i appreciate that you think so  😭 these are like several ideas i’ve come up with over the years but i’ve never actually gotten around to writing since i’m not a very strong writer. but i’m trying to develop my writing skills so hopefully this will help and these stories turn out decent!

Hii! How are you?
You are my favorite fic writer, and your writing is amazing (+ all the synonyms and better words to say 'best writer ever')!
I was wondering... Do you have any favorite authors or books that inspire you?
Hope you're doing well 💗🖤
hiiiii 💕 I'm good, what about you?
That is so nice of you to say 😭 This made me smile so much, that is unbelievably kind, thank you, thank you. 🥺 I'm very touched, there are so many fantastic writers out there, thank you for giving time to what I write 😭
As a student of English lit my list of favorite authors is waaaay too long, but I'll try to keep this short 🙈 One of my favorite authors is V.E. Schwab, she wrote the Darker Shade of Magic series and The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. She's a really fun writer, her imagination is insane, and I absolutely adore the way she writes. She has those sentences, oh my god... I have to pause and repeat them in my head, they're THAT good. I admire her a lot, in my delusion I hope one day I can write as well as she does, she's definitely someone I look up to writing wise. She inspires me a lot. She writes darker universes, flawed characters, about life and death, magic, the past... Her books are fascinating to me. If you're into fantasy series and magic, I really recommend A Darker Shade of Magic ❤️
For more recent fiction I also love Stephanie Garber and her Caraval series, it's lighter, so much fun, a real love letter to fairytales. She's absolutely magical in her descriptions and universe, and she's SUCH a sweet human being. A good YA duology I read was We Hunt the Flame. I am a big fan of the Six of Crows duology too (I like S&B as well, but my heart is very very very very soft for the Crows I love them so much).
I love reading Ruth Ware, I don't really relate to her characters but her plots are AMAZING. For thrilles, Paula Hawkins! Most people know The Girl on the Train but I actually preferred her second book, Into the Water. I have to read her newest. Who else... Emily Henry is really fun for romance (especially People We Meet on Vacation). For a class I read Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi and it really made an impression on me. I am a BIG horror fan and I usually, in my personal projects, only write ghost and horror stories so I definitely love those (Stephen King is a must, Joe Hill too).
Some of my favorite books include Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palaniuk, The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, every single book by James Sallis, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, Kurt Vonnegut is always good too, I also really like Eric Emmanuel Schmidt for French literature! And if I had to chose a favorite French Canadian writer it would be Patrick Sénécal. He is wild.
Since I study "older" literature I also have favorites in that category that might seem more obvious, but they still inspire me. The Brontë sisters are incredible, Jane Austen, Ann Radcliffe, they are great women writers who have really captivating female characters! Toni Morrison is amazing, and I really recommend her. Sheridan Le Fanu is a great Gothic writer. The Yellow Wallpaper is one of my favorite pieces of writing ever, with Poe's The Black Cat. Mary Shelley, Thomas Hardy, Elizabeth Gaskell...
I read a lot of manga recently too! Chainsaw Man is so much fun, Demon Slayer broke me into a million pieces (in a good way), Spy x Family is SO fun as well...
I think everything I read and see (I love movies and tv) inspires me. I'm really challenging myself with fanfiction because I usually write much darker stuff, so it's been really fun! I'm channeling my inner romance lover. I love authors who write with their heart, who own their concepts, who push themselves. I love it when the emotion is so raw you can feel it on the page. If things are too superficial I just can't get into it. Anything with angst and drama and complexity and flaws is what really gets me. I love to be challenged when I read!
SORRY for this long answer. I could talk about books all day. If you ever want to discuss more please do not hesitate I will be happy too! <3

do you read any veigar fanfic? if so, do you have any favorites/recommendations?
As someone who agonized through every (and I do mean every) fic on AO3 and Fanfiction.net tagged with "Veigar" that doesn't have Lulu in it, you've come to the right person with this ask.
My absolute favorite Veigar fic of all time is probably The Bastion Falls by Vezimira. Which is ironic, because it isn't really even a fic about Veigar- it's a fic about Soraka, it's a fic about the reign of the Iron Revenant, and it's a fic about mercy. Veigar is almost a footnote in his own story but at the same time is absolutely integral to its message. It's not just a fic with good ideas I like- it's a haunting short story that stands on its own as a masterwork.
In a close second to my favorite Veigar fic is NormalizeNull's In Pursuit of a Ghost. Again, surprisingly, this fic is less about Veigar directly, and more about what he means to the world around him. The fic actually stars Yuumi, in a fantastic characterization I've never seen before. The story explores a fascinating headcanon and ends with just the right amount of angst. I was deeply satisfied with this one, and would highly recommend it.
And third, here is VV by Vsafic. It basically fulfills the headcanon we all have of Veigar seeing the other angry goth yordle in the roster and immediately taking her in. Vex is written wonderfully here- not just reduced to her aloof demeanor, but actually complex -and Veigar's the same, his dramatics balanced with his more sensible side. Big fan.
Finally, there's a special category of recommendations I have. This is the angst category- they're not fun to read, but when you're in the mood to angst or perhaps be genuinely disturbed, go find these ones.
Veigar: That Which Cannot Be Forgiven is your classic, classic angst fic describing his backstory and the immediate consequences of it in excruciating detail. All whump, no fluff, served hot.
On another post I already recommended the Veigar x Syndra fic Witchcraft, so I'll link it here again. Veigar's characterization in this one is interesting, even if it is slightly-off canon. I've also never found another fic where the romance is written as so incredibly destructive. It's terrifying, reading much more like a horror story than a ship. It's as unique as it is genuinely disturbing, and for that alone I suggest that some of you give it a read.
Then there's Wound Healing. This one's weird and very experimental. Definitely delivers on the angst though. Worth a read.
But with all the good suggestions means I also have to confess the many (albeit entertaining) sins I've laid eyes upon:
One of the most interesting characterizations I've seen for Veigar comes from a smut fic. In this one, he's portrayed as older, more tired, and I think that's a very valid take for him. If you check this one out, absolutely do not read past the line that says ""We're being watched'". DO NOT. But everything before then is fascinating. (this fic also has the best characterization of Ahri I've ever read? Trust me, this is as upsetting to me as it is to you.)
If I had a nickel every time somebody attempted to write a Garen x Veigar fic, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's absolutely fucking baffling that this happened twice. If you're intrigued, here's the better one (and it's actually pretty good?)
As for the award for "Most wildly out of character while still being my favorite", there's this Lux x Veigar fic. From the summary it actually sounds fascinating- and then quickly devolves into a head-scratching mess. Which is a shame, because I adore the concept of Lux and Veigar somehow finding an unlikely alliance to infiltrate into the heart of the Immortal Bastion! I might steal this concept and give writing it a shot. In the meantime, glean what you can from this one.

Spring 2021 anime overview: Quick Takes
Now for my Spring 2021 anime thoughts! I’ve decided from now on if a season’s like, 20- to-24 episodes I’m just going to wait ‘til it’s done to review it unless I feels super passionately, so though I watched To Your Eternity (it’s good!) and MHA (eh), I’ll comment on them next time. Also, for the record, I watched the first eight eps of Joran: Princess and Snow of Blood but I dropped it because it had clearly crossed the line from entertainingly dumb to boring dumb.
I will probably give Supercub and some other stuff a shot later, this was a stacked season! May give updates on all that later, but this is what I have for now.
Tumblr media
ODDTAXI
Quick Summary: A mild mannered middle-aged walrus taxi driver is drawn into a case involving a missing girl, yakuza, Youtube clout-chasers, manzai comedians and idols with big secrets.
It’s rare to walk away from media and be like “that is a singular experience I will definitely never see repeated again” but ODDTAXI is definitely one of those. A tense noir thriller murder mystery starring cartoon animals that spends an entire episode detailing the one (cat)man’s very fall into darkness triggered by addiction to gacha games and an online auction for a novelty eraser? Also there’s a porcupine Yakuza who speaks entirely in rap? Also there’s tons of meandering conversations about stuff like manzai comedy and the struggle to go viral on Twitter?
Admittedly, I had a hard time getting into the first episode, the dry meandering humor not being enough to hold my attention while I was sitting still, but once I watched this while I was working out at the end of the season, I found it an easy binge. A ton of characters with dark secrets or dangerous ambitions, each with their own part to play in a tableau of intersecting events- and it all actually comes together really well.(As for the female characters, it’s a pretty dude driven story, but they do get nuanced characterization and even some good heroic moments from one of them.)
It’s a great example of a carefully planned narrative paying off, with all the twists appropriately seeded and foreshadowed to reward viewers who paid attention. Even when it ended on a perfect “OH SHIT” moment and denied me closure, I couldn’t help but respect it. If you that all sounds interesting to you, definitely check out the first couple episodes and see if you like it- you’re likely to have a memorable, satisfying experience!
Tumblr media
Shadows House
Quick Summary: Emilyko is a ‘living doll’ who’s told she was created to act as the ‘face’ of her shadow master, Kate. The shadows and their ‘dolls’ all reside on the mansion and are required to pass a ‘debut’ to prove they’re a good pairing. If they don’t pass, they might be disposed of. And so the mystery of the Shadow mansion grows...
This slice of gothic intrigue was my favorite of the season, tied with ODDTAXI. With an interesting premise, slightly tense undertones and a strong focus on character building and relationships, it kept me hooked the whole way through. And for any squeamish fans put off by the hype about it, don’t worry, while there are some suspenseful elements, I wouldn’t qualify it as horror. I thought the relationship between Kate and Emilyko might end up being a completely sinister one, but it’s thankfully a lot more complex than that and it’s really interesting to follow how both their characters and relationship grow. The focus of the show is, unsurprisingly, on the “dolls” slowly discovering their autonomy and personhood as they struggle under the rigid system imposed on them by the mysterious elders of this weird Victorian mansion. Can they develop a more equitable relationship with their shadow “masters” (who are also shown to suffer under this system)? There’s a lot to dig into there, and the show has the characters develop through learning to understand and appreciate each other, which is pretty heartwarming. Our hero, Emilyko, is the typical plucky ball of sunshine (they even nickname her sunshine), but she’s also shown to be clever in her own off-the-wall way and she bounces off the far more subdued and cynical Kate well, not to mention the other ‘dolls’ she ends up befriending.
What’s more, the show spends plenty of time to developing several other character pairings and combinations, and they all have their own interesting dynamic that makes you want to see more of them. Same-gender bonds are at the forefront of this show, and many of them are ripe for queer readings (I definitely appreciated the healthy helping of ladies carrying ladies), but even outside that it’s nice to see a show where a strong, complex bond between girls is at the forefront. My only real complaints about the show are the anime original ending is noticeably a bit rushed (though it’s not too bad, and leaves room for a season 2) and I wish the animation used the whole “shadow” theme more strikingly (like the opening and endings do)- instead the colors are a bit washed out which makes the shadows blend into the background sometimes. The “debut” arc also drags a bit in places, but it makes up for it by having a lot of good character integration.
I hope to check out the (full color)! manga soon and see more of this quirky, shadowy story. There’s some physical abuse depicted, sad things happening to characters and naturally the whole “oppressive familial system” thing, but otherwise not much I can think of to warn about. I give this one a big rec, especially If you’re a fan of gothic fairytales and stories of self discovery.

Zombie Land Saga Revenge
Quickest summary: In this sequel season, everyone’s favorite zombie idol group must claw their way back into prominence after a disastrous show- the fate of the Saga prefecture LITERALLY depends on it!
This was a fun follow-up to the first season- if you liked the first zombie-girl romp, you’ll probably enjoy this one. In fact, there were a couple areas it improved on- namely, Kotaro failed, ate crow and embarrassed himself a lot more this season, which made him more likeable (as did the fact the girls gained a lot of independence from him). This season also shed more light on what the ‘goal’ of this zombie raising project is and what kind of shit Kotaro got involved with to make this happen, and it’s appropriately off-the-wall and ridiculous. We finally got some backstory for Yugiri too! I wish it had focused on more of her interiority, but she got to be a badass in it, and it was a treat to see this zombie idol show turn into a period piece for a couple episodes (also her song ruled).
Tae also got a cute focus episode and there was a particular SMASHING performance early on! Also That revelation last season that had the potential to turn creepy hasn’t yet, and hopefully never will. The finale was heartwarming with big hints of more drama to come- I’m definitely down for more zombie hijinks!
Tumblr media
Vivy: Flourite Eye’s Song
Quickest Summary: A songstress AI named DIVA (nicknamed Vivy) is approached by another AI named Matsumoto, who says he’s from the future and they must work together to prevent AI exterminating all of humankind 100 years from now.
This show is absolutely gorgeous visually with some really nice action scenes, but when it comes to the story my feelings basically amount to a shrug. It’s fine! I guess! Vivy starts out as an interesting layered character- and I guess still is by the end- with her stoic but stubborn determination bouncing off her fast-talking bossy partner Matsumoto well. She never listens to him, which is delightful. The way the show took place over the course of 100 years was an interesting conceit as well. However, it bought up a lot of themes and then sort of... dropped them. For instance, Vivy interprets her mission (PRIME DIRECTIVE if you will) as protecting humans at all costs, no matter how destructive said humans are or what their fate is supposed to be, and is perfectly willing to murder her fellow androids to do this, showing she inherently thinks of androids (herself and her own people!) as less worthy. Which is a little alarming! There’s a very dramatic point in the show where they bring this up as a potential conflict for her character but then it’s sort of...dropped. Pretty much.
Actually, despite the premise, the show doesn’t dip into the “AI rights” as much as you think it would with the main theme being more about Vivy’s search to find her own creativity and discover what it means to ‘pour your heart into something’. Vivy herself doesn’t actually care if she has rights or anything. Which is in some ways fine, because ‘AI as an oppressed class’ has been done to death, but IT’S ALSO KIND OF IN THE PREMISE, so that means that the show just shrugs really hard at a lot of the questions it brings up  basically just going “humans and AI should work together probably” and that’s it. There’s a lot that feels underexplored. The antagonists in the show also either have motivations that don’t really make sense or have boring hackneyed motivations. In the finale in particular, it feels like a lot of things happen “just because” and it falls a little flat.
I also have to warn that one of the arcs focus on a robot ‘pairing’ where the dude-coded robots actions toward his partner are straight up awful and rob her of her autonomy, but it’s played like a tragic love story. I suppose you could read it differently too, but it definitely made me go ‘ew’ the story seemed to want me to sympathize with this robo dude,
Overall, I wouldn’t anti-recommend this show, it’s an all right little sci-fic romp (and definitely SUPER pretty). My favorite element was definitely the episodes where Vivy develops an entirely new (an loveable) personality, because it played with the idea of of an AI getting “rebooted” really well and interplay between her two “selves” was done really well. But there are a lot of other parts of the show that just feel...a little underexplored and empty, making me have an ‘eh’ feeling on the show overall. It’s definitely an ambitious project, and while it didn’t quite stick the landing, there’s something to be said for a show that shoots for the stars and falls short over a show that just languishes in mediocrity.
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket The Final
Quick summary: The final season of that dramatic drama about that weird family with a zodiac curse and the girl who loves them.
It’s very weird that after not cutting a lot out, they kinda sped through some material for, you know, the finale. I guess they thought they couldn’t stretch this final arc to 26 episodes? Or weren’t cleared for another double cour? However, though there were a couple places that felt awkward, despite being a bit condensed it mostly held together pretty well for a D R A M A T I C and ultimately heartwarming conclusion. I was really disappointed they kept the part where Ritsu cut their hair for the ‘happy ending’, I thought  their intro episode not showing them in men’s clothes meant the anime had decided their presentation didn’t need to be “fixed” but WELL I GUESS NOT. That was the only big upset for me though, otherwise the adaptation went about how I expected, sticking to the source material. Furuba has a lot of bumps, from weird age gap stuff to ...gender, but it also has a lot of important feels and great character arcs. It was a gateway shoujo for many and has its important place in animanga history, so I’m glad it finally got a shiny, full adaptation.
