Interview With a Writer

This is the 20th segment of my IWAW series. I will break it down into volumes, so this is the wrap of Volume 1!

Thank you so much @fan-goddess for giving me the time to respond to my questions and allowing this series to continue. 💜

As always, Interview With a Writer is my ongoing series of the talented souls on Tumblr and ao3, and their brilliant writing!

Story: 10 Things I Hate About You

Paring: Ettore x Female!Reader

Warnings: Non canon Ettore, warnings vary per chapter.

So, when did you start writing?

I started writing early teens for a variety of fandoms. It was all on Wattpad drafts as I’d make all these plots, but find I’d be terrible writing actual stories. The first thing I wrote for was a cringey Draco Malfoy fanfic which is on my first ever Wattpad account that still is lying about somewhere.

After a couple years though I then transitioned to Tumblr, where after joining the HOTD I started writing and enjoying it and finding my passion for it.

Where did the plot for 10 Things I Hate About You come from?

The idea mainly came from me thinking of the movie, as me and two of my friends were talking about watching it together since one of them hasn’t ever seen it.

I was thinking about the poem scene on a bus ride and was wondering about how to possibly apply it to writing, wondering who would a reader hate to love, and one of the first characters I thought of was Ettore.

Then it came to me applying different lines to him, which in the original I think had some different lines to the one that was posted, but as I was trying to post the original I accidentally deleted it. Which lead to me immediately trying to write all the lines I could remember.

It was originally supposed to be a one-shot, but thought why not when people asked for a part two. The idea to do the different view point chapter came from @flowerandblood on tumblr, since I thought of their writing style which enables the reader to see both viewpoints of the scene, and I was interested in exploring in this.

Can you explain your interpretation of Ettore? What drives him? Why is he this way in 10TIHAY?

I wanted to stay as close to the movie character as possible, and if you’ve seen the movie, there is a scene that shows Ettore attempted SA. Of course, I never wanted to write a scene like that, so I decided to write a mixture of canon him and another version of him that didn’t involve the scene from the movie.

What drives him in this story is his need for contact he doesn’t even know he needs, which he finds in the reader. He gets obsessed by it and this entire need to own her, like you would a pet really. He’s drawn on this path of her since she involuntarily makes him feel emotions he never felt before her, and he just becomes utterly addicted to it, which in the end he interprets as what could be love.

Was there anything in specific that inspired your Reader portrayal?

Not necessarily? I wanted her to have struggles. I wanted to clearly have this idea shown that no one is perfect. I don’t specify the crime the reader committed, as it’s really up to interpretation (unless someone does request a one-shot with a crime specific).

I wanted her to have that split mindset of wanting to stay like her Earth self, and the mindset of wanting to give into this desire for Ettore, who draws her in.

Plus, like Ettore, she craves this contact that makes her human and down to earth. A same need, but for different reasons.

Do you think they complement one another well?

It’s a mixed thought, really. For Ettore, it’s good they complement each other since she effectively manages to humanise him in his own way. But for reader, it’s not so good since-thanks to Ettore-she’s embracing this dark side of herself that she never would’ve never thought to connect with if she hadn’t met him.

But I don’t know if I believe that they belong together entirely, since whilst they embrace a side of each other, they also simultaneously have the ability to destroy each other. They’re a weakness to each other and only Ettore really understands could be possibly exploited, which is one of the reasons he felt so conflicted about the relationship.

Do you think you will do a sequel? Or do you have any other WIPs?

I have no plans to do a sequel. But when I finish writing/editing my Abraham series I plan to open my requests, and I am interested in doing one-shot requests expanding on this story's universe. They wouldn’t be apart of the 10TIHAY universe though, but I did have one possible request on ao3 where a person asked about what would happen if reader was the one obsessed rather than Ettore, which I am interested in possibly exploring.

Do you have a personal favorite story you'd like to share?

I have so many to be honest I doubt I can name just one! Especially since I have favourites for certain fandoms I’m in too. One of my favourites though is ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring’ by flowerandblood on Tumblr. I did photography and it inspired me both in regards to writing and in photography too.

So I sent you an ask before your tumblr got deleted and I’m assuming the ask got deleted too. Basically, when I was watching Nimona I thought Ballistar got his prosthetic too quickly after his amputation. But I don’t actually know how long it takes for an amputation to heal, or to build up the strength needed to use a prosthetic. Also I would have liked to see him learn to use his prosthetic instead of using it perfectly from the beginning. But I’m not an amputee. Are my impressions of this accurate?

Yeah, I'm really sorry about that (also that it took me a little while to answer this time too!), I'm pretty sure my answer was actually the next post in my queue 😅.

So I haven't seen Nimona (I really want to, but I don't currently have Netflix lol) so I can only answer generally, but the healing time is different depending on what you mean by healed. If you mean just the wound healing, that takes a few weeks, usually 2-4 weeks. If you mean able to wear a prosthetic, for leg amps, that's usually 6-8 weeks, but I think it might be shorter for arm amputees since they aren't weight bearing through their stumps. Im not 100% sure, though. To fully heal (the swelling in the stump goes down, general pain settles, etc) can take a year or more, but most people will be back to their normal lives long before that, though. As for building up strength to use the prosthetic, that's really variable. Some people take to their prosthetics REALLY quickly, others take a while. The type of amputation is a big factor, but lots of other little things go into it too. Ballistar is an above-elbow amputee right? As I understand it, those kinds of prosthetics are quite difficult to use, both due to the strength needed and due to them not being super intuitive.

In saying all this though, unless its a focal point of the story or its a very grounded/realistic setting, I'm personally pretty lenient with most sci-fi/fantasy in this regards. We definatly need more media - even fantasy and sci-fi that shows that side of being an amputee or at least puts in effort to acknowledge it, but I think stories that lean a bit more into the fantasy side of things have their place too, especially in stories like Nimona where the focus seems to be elsewhere. This isn't to say you shouldn't try to include the realistic rep where you can, but you have to find a balance between realism and the tone your story has. Some stories really would benefit from the more grounded/realistic depictions that show everything, others might only need a brief mention. It depends on the story, and it's really hard to say where Nimona lies on that spectrum without having actually seen it, but from the little I have seen, I feel like it falls on the "brief mention" side of things since it already has so much going on.

I'm going to use How to Train Your Dragon as an example of what I'm trying to say, just becuase I know the first movie got a lot of critisism from amputees for having hiccup literally get up and start walking the moment he woke up after loosing his leg, but I think it lands in a similar area of the spectrum I'm talking about. HTTYD is one of those movies where having the more realistic approach wouldn't have really fit with the tone or pacing, but it would have benifited from a little more than what we got. Not much though, since we kind of already got it with toothless anyway. In my opinion, all it needed was a slight tweak to that ending scene and it would have been perfect (in my opinion). Personally, I would have made Hiccup (without a prosthetic) sit on toothless's back when they went out the door for the first time. The scene plays out almost exactly the same, and you get the symbolic framing the directors wanted, while acknowledging that walking so soon after a burn amputation is not going to happen. Gobber gives Hiccup the tail, saddle and his new leg in the bundle, which allows them to keep the "That bit's my handiwork, with a little hiccup flair thrown in. Think it'll do?" line. Hiccup can instead hold the leg in his hand and say "I might make a few adjustments" - everyone laughs and then it cuts to the end scene with them all flying with the implication some time has passed the same as in the real film. It's a small tweak, but I do think that's all it really needed.

So yeah, While its great to have more realistic representation in your stories, you got to work within the tone your story has. There's no "one size fits all" way to approach it. Again though, I could be wrong about where Nimona would fall here, I know it does tackle heavy subjects in regards to trans representation and discrimination, so maybe it could have made it work. I'll probably talk more about it once I actually see the movie though!

Apps that might help you if your a system ! Or just plain fun !!

Simply Plural

This may not be a shocker, but this app has so many features and it was made for systems!! It has a chat room so alters can chat to eachother and a front history tracker as well!! It can store all of your alters and you can even connect to other system friends on there!! Though it's not offline, so beware of that

Twinote

Twinote is a fake Twitter, and I adore it. It has no friend connection so if you want friends on there, you can't have them. But this app is amazing, it's almost like the old Twitter !! You can make so many accounts on there and just let alters post what they feel at the moment, and this doesn't need wifi nor internet!! It may show an ad or 2 sometimes but it's almost barely so it's amazing!! You can also text different Alters!!

Gratitude

Gratitude is this journal type app, it has challenges and stuff so it keeps you motivated!! This app has certain topics to choose and it focuses mostly on positive so your alters have a low chance of being triggered, while also this app let's not have to choose a topic!! It's very cool and amazing, though if you delete it, you can't get it back unless you pay, but it's still amazing!!

Moodee

Moodee is a really soft app and has such a cute mascot!! But it also tracks your mood and gives you suggestions on what to do if your sad based on what your sad about!! What I find amazing is that these suggestions can also be by people who use the app and feel as though they help, so you aren't getting bot answers for it!! Some things are blocked for paying but the basics I just told you are all free !!

My true Value

My true value is a soft thing where it will help you heal from trauma, though I have such a major complaint, after level one you have to unlock everything with money, so I personally don't use it much but even the first level is amazing and such a good thing!! It has breathing breaks and let's you say "I don't know" or "I can't remember" for its textbox questions!!

Character.Ai

Why is it on this list? Well the reason is that it helps our fictives feel as though they are talking to source mates, and it helps some of our alters heal from trauma!! It also has a psychiatrist bot and therapist bot that are both so so amazing!! And you can make your own private bots so you can customize them to what you remember!! You can also unlist bots so you could give the link to your friend who might want to talk to them!!

Blacknote

Blacknote is this app that let's you take notes while also locking them with a passcode!! So you can vent in there or something else that you don't want other alters to see so you lock it!! It's a very cool app and it's offline and only has like 1 ad at the very top!!

Pinterest can help you find faceclaims for alters and also find aesthetics!! Pinterest can also help with finding source claims !! So I recommend it because of that !!

Ibis Paint X

Remember pinterest? Yea you might not always find a faceclaim, so you can alter certain fanarts thay are close in Ibis Paint!! Though there is a lot of ads and it also includes pay, but it's still very good!!

Photonote

Fake Twitter? What's next!? Fake Instagram!? Yes actually!! This is from the same people who made the fake Twitter too!! It's very simple and you can message other alters on there!! It's very free and cool so I recommend it!!

Lol, I just wrote you the longest note, and somehow, right when I went to hit ask after proofreading the whole damn thing, it deleted and did not send. I think that message was letting me know to do the too long didn’t read version. Lol, so my long story short question was, do you have any ways to keep track of ongoing blogs better? I, of course, follow each writer and any update blogs that they have, but I still feel like I’m getting overwhelmed with notifications and missing the ones when the next chapter of their fic posts. I know Tumblr is not easy to navigate, but I’m just wondering what other people do. I’ve been fortunate enough to find a lot of older series that are complete, and of course, there’s no issue there, but with the ongoing series, unless they have a dedicated tag list, the follow and update blogs are a little hard to keep track of… And I feel like I forget… Thanks, ADHD… And I can’t remember where I’m at. I am using my hashtag to save my favorite series and characters and one shot, but with all the reblogging I’m doing now, thanks to your original advice to support writers. It’s not as easy to navigate unless I’m using my tags.

Thank you again for all that you do and making this such an inclusive site, especially for newbies like me… Teaching us the ways to be kind and support writers and overall have a better sense of community on here because even though I’m not a writer, I do feel really welcome and a big part of that is to your Support and blogs of how to navigate this insane little site.

Oh noes! That's so annoying when that happens, isn't it? 😖 But gosh, thank you. I'm really glad to hear your experience is positive and welcoming. And that you feel that I've been a part of that makes me really happy, thank you. 🥹

So, maybe check this post out if you haven't already, because in it I talk about a few ways of simplifying your Tumblr settings, such as filtering your notifications and setting up Blog Subs to specific blogs you want to follow and not miss things from them.

Turn on notifications on the blogs you like and don't want to miss updates from. Sadly, tagging usernames is so glitchy and doesn't always work. I have that issue right now with tagging people who want to follow along with Adrift With You. So I'd always recommend turning on the notifications for each blog you don't want to miss things from.

Using re-blogs is a massive way to stay organised and using tags to do this is so helpful.

For example, I tag any fics that I recommend as "Jett's Fic Recs" so I can go back and search that tag on my blog and find every fic I've ever re-blogged using that specific tag. And you can create your tags relevant to you too. This is probably the most effective way of staying organised on your blog that I've found.

A Google search will show you how to do all these things for both mobile (Android and Apple app) and the desktop version of Tumblr, if you're not sure where to find the settings etc...

The new Blog Subs feature is gold. I follow like over 800+ blogs I think (?🥴) so by filtering some of these into my Blog Subs is a life saver when there's a specific blog I don't wanna miss anything from. It's easy then to switch between your feeds.

I know some people create a side blog specifically for re-blogging things. I can barely manage one account so that doesn't work for me personally, 😅 but I know a lot of bloggers who use it and it works really great for them.

It sounds like you're already doing a lot to stay organised. I'll throw it open to anyone else who has tips that help or works for them etc... but essentially the re-blogging with tags, and turning on notifs of the blogs you like, is the best way to go.

Meanwhile in Comic Books: if I understand recent events correctly, and who knows, who gives a shit, but.... Mark Millar (the creator of Trouble, the comic where Aunt May fucks) got so angry that "people" (I only know one name and it's another comic creator) made fun of a comic retailer for putting out some dopey video or another about How Comics Are Bad Now for a (very incoherent) reason on Youtube (incoherent to me, as "reported", but I ain't watching that shit) that Millar became a Comicsgate supporter (or whatever they're calling themselves now)... except while simultaneously saying he's not a Comicsgate supporter...

Except while attacking people he described as "the cancel pigs" (?) who he claims have been terrorizing high profile DC Comics writers... by... doing posts?? (That bit's unclear, but okay; posts; oh well). (No idea who the high profile DC Comics writers are right now either. The guy who writes Captain Carrot? I don't know who).

(And also he's using quote tweets to sort of promote some kind of weird loser theory that the "Cancel Pigs" are actually "paid shills" of some kind of weird PR company's scheme to ... do Comics Evil, you know... for the money that would generate... somehow...???).

Anyways, he then said anyone who is Doing Evil Posts will never get to write Batman... the Ultimate Punishment! Let's assume there've been at least 1,028 issues of Detective Comics since 1939, so ... and assuming each issue had a different writer (which isn't true), and a global population of 8.1 billion people... a Comics Pig is being threatened with being part of ... basically 99.9999873% of Earth's population. I don't know-- it's comics so that's how they always try to police people-- "only the pure and penitent get to writeth the Batman." It works. I mean, it works, so.

(He's doing this while talking to retailers who apparently keep telling him the problem with comics right now isn't politics-- it's that the whole scene is fucking boring. But Millar has the solution-- get John Byrne to write and draw two books a month. It's time to get the 73 year old man to draw 40 pages a month-- it all hinges on that...).

Anyways, then Millar might have tweeted something (that might have gotten deleted or I'm too bored to find it) about how someone was writing a book about the "Cancel Pigs" or the comic terrorism or the badness of posts or something or another... And it turns out that there's some anonymous person is writing some kind of smear attack book that features a photo of Gail Simone and Kelly Sue Deconnick on the cover?? So people were like "oh, he meant that book, he's going after Gail Simone, the war has begun" or whatever the fuck, and Mark Millar said he meant ... he meant an entirely different (print-on-demand Lulu.com?) book that is being written (!!!!!) about comic book industry drama (??!?!?!?), so Gail Simone said everything is hunky dory now. The war has been averted; this is all very sane now hahaha.

And also Mark Waid lost his temper about all of this, or something, but on Blusky, which...??? I mean, I don't know-- all those Blusky codes are too fuck ugly and inelegant to ever be curious what happens there. "Hey, want to get into Blusky? Here's how to do it-- 13295359859.blusky.cobaltirondeathfrombelow.12392389202." You're being weird, Twiki! "You need a code"-- I have a code-- the code of the samurai!!!!!! (Samurai with asthma).

I don't know. American comics have such a massive loser energy around them (myself included)(unless my hair looks good, but today it doesn't), and they're just soaked in these aging dried-up creators with no real new ideas, like... I don't know. I just read manga now. And it's so much better; life's so much better. I cancelled myself from out of comics, and it's great. Highly recommended-- be your own cancel-pig. (I also bought a rice cooker that I'm really happy with this year, the Greenlife rice cooker, but this post isn't about rice)(But should it be?).

In summation: the comics industry's used-up elderly creators and fans are calling each other cancel pigs now, to save comics, and/or to promote books that they are writing, about how secret cabals are keeping comics from being good, for politics, or something. So you know: that's probably a healthy development, or not, whichever.

this is word vomit, me rambling, and basically just saying shit!! at the end i am thanking my followers for helping me reach 1k!!

i started this side-blog back in late april to early may just thinking that this was just going to be a fluke. originally i had only planned to just post more random shit on here, reblog some anime stuff, and just do whatever i wanted. there were times where i was like "im going to delete this blog", "im losing my interest", "this ain't getting me nowhere", just pessimistic thoughts.

that all changed when i started writing for anime. my very first post was a stupid "toman as stupid shit i did in my life" post which garnered some good attention. ppl liked it. then a little bit later i decided to write "tokyo revengers reaction to how you fight" and ppl LOVED IT lol i was so happy reading through the feedback about how the reader was depicted as being badass and strong.

later i got myself more involved into the anime fandom. i started watching demon slayer after a previous co-worker of mine mentioned to me that i should watch it bc it was a good anime. and it is!! demon slayer is one of the most popular animes out there imo. so when i began watching demon slayer i wanted to write content for the demon slayer fandom as well. now originally i wanted to write my first demon slayer fanfic with tengen x reader, but i was already hooked onto season 4 with the hantengu clones and had more motivation to write about them. the hantengu clones x demon!reader thing i wrote, i literally did not expect for it to get any attention. bc i haven't wrote smut like that in FOREVER. literally i thought it would go to shit but i was fucking excited to see it gain over 2.5k notes!!!

now before i got into demon slayer i was watching jjk. but i just never thought of writing for them since i had only ever watched the jjk 0 movie, and season 1. i didn't familiarize myself with the characters and just went with how the fandom portrayed them as. though as soon as season 2 came out with the gojo's past arc i wanted to write some content for them as well.

then... i got lured into the miguel o'hara stan. now i was already a marvel nerd BEFORE i rejoined the anime fandom. i was only watching the marvel films and the tv shows like daredevil, punisher, and loki. when i saw miguel o'hara on the big screen I FELL IN LOVE. not only that but he is voiced by OSCAR FUCKING ISAAC. god i want for this man to yell at me- ANYWAYS LOL UM we're getting off track here!! i went to reading some miguel o'hara fics, watching tiktok edits of this man, looking at fanarts of him, and then i sort of got the inspiration to write some content about him. and i do notice that there is not a LOT of miguel o'hara with a black reader or at the very least with a latin/hispanic reader. so i want to spice things up and contribute to writing things for him.

now mind you all i write my fics with a black reader in my mind!! but i never describe their skin color, their eye color, their weight, i don't describe what they look like bc i want for the reader to feel included!!! i want for the reader to feel as if they are in the story. unless it is stated in my notes that the reader is black, chubby, skinny, etc. then i write as that. but if you read most of my fics there's not really an indication of the reader's race.

so with this blog and through my writing i want to show all writers that you don't have to describe what the reader looks like. that there are ways to avoid describing the reader and to have the reader feel included. inclusivity is my goal here on this site. as someone who is multifandom, i want to bring something to the table and maybe make a change.

to end this all off bc damn this is getting TOO DAMN LONGGG i want to say to all of my followers thank you so much for following me. times have been hard for me, but you know seeing that i have ppl who love my content and my writing makes me happy. honestly it is getting me motivated to get back to writing more again. i hope to give you guys more content, and better up my writing skills in the future. please stick around for more! again thank you babes! i love you all so much!!

Living Together

Sorry this took so long to post. My first draft deleted itself and I couldn't remember what happened exactly. Hope you like it :) 🌻

Notes - Rory lives in Stars Hollow still but not with her mother any more. Sookie-Lane is Logan’s child but he doesn’t get a chance to visit a lot.

Jess had never liked unpacking. As a child, he and his mother had constantly been moving in and out of houses that her boyfriends had owned, their possessions being precariously moved every few weeks. Even when he moved to Luke’s he didn’t bother fully unpacking and organising his items, knowing that he would most likely be leaving soon. None of those places had ever truly felt right.

Moving into Rory’s house was different. As soon as he stepped through the front doors, he felt calm.

He’d unpacked all of his belongings straight away, joking with Rory that ‘the quicker I move in, the less chance you have to change your mind’. She’d shook her head at his response and kissed him on the cheek, leaving him to neatly place all of his clothes in his drawers and scatter his personal knick knacks around the house. They were mainly things he had come to treasure; including photos of him and Luke from when they lived together and photos of him, Rory and Sookie-Lane on their various outings.

Living in Rory’s house felt different due to one simple reason. He felt at home.

He’d been living with Rory and Sookie for a few weeks now, the three of them settling into a cosy routine. In the mornings, Jess would wake up before his girls did and prepare a nice breakfast of cereal just as the soft pitter-patter of feet sounded on the stairs and Sookie-Lane appeared, clutching Colonel Clucker in one hand and her blanket in the other. Then, Jess would prepare coffee and pancakes for Rory as Sookie-Lane sat babbling away in her high chair, contentedly eating her cereal. At around 10am, Rory would come shuffling in, her hair haphazardly thrown in a bun, and eat her breakfast as Jess finished his work from the previous day.

Normally, Rory would take Sookie to day care or Miss Patty’s whilst she and Jess went to work. Today was not one of those days.

The morning had run smoothly until Rory found out that one of the kids in Sookie’s daycare had had the chicken pox and that Miss Patty had gone on holiday to Bermuda for a few weeks. The couple had then rushed round trying to clear their schedules for the day or sort out a suitable babysitter. Jess had managed to reschedule some publishing meetings to the next week but Headmaster Charleston refused to give Rory the time off, mentioning how teachers at Chilton needed to give at least 12 hours notice that they were not coming in unless they were really ill. So Rory had rushed off to work, with the promise of Chinese food for dinner.

Which led to where Jess was now- sitting on the floor of the living room with various toys balanced on him. They’d gone through various make believe scenarios- with Jess playing a dragon, dinosaur and, most commonly, a knight. After exhausting all of the ideas in her head, he found Sookie-Lane climbing into her toy’s box in an attempt to find something else to do. Chuckling to himself, he made his way over to the toy box and knelt down in front of her.

“Hey Cupcake. How about we read a story?” He asked, placing the toys away in her box.

“But I heard all my stories already!” Sookie-Lane whined, still searching for toys.

“Ah, but you haven’t heard my story yet.” Jess grinned as Sookie’s head turned to face him.

“You have a story?”

“That’s right, I have a story. But first, we need a tidy house.” Jess answered, surveying the living room. When Rory had left it, there were only a few items on the floor. But now, there were toys strewn everywhere and a failed attempt at a pillow fort in the corner. Sookie looked at him and then the mess, a frown replacing her smile.

“How about this? As soon as we get all of your toys in the box and the pillows away neatly, I’ll tell you my story. Deal?” Jess offered, holding out his hand. Sookie’s face scrunched up in thought before she took his hand and shook it.

“Deal.”

After half an hour of cleaning, Jess and Sookie curled up on the couch, Colonel Clucker nestled under Sookie’s head.

“Okay. Once Upon A Time…” Jess started.

“Wait!” Sookie exclaimed, shooting her head. “Where’s your book? Mummy always tells me stories from her books!” Jess chuckled at her and ruffled her hair, earning a glare in reply.

“Actually this story is in my head. It’s the story of a young princess named Rory and a stable boy named Jess…”

“But that’s yours and Mummy’s names.”

“This story is about me and your mum. It’s about how we met and how we came to live here.”

“Really? I already like this story.” She stated, snuggling back into Colonel Clucker and watching him in anticipation.

“Once upon a time, there was a young princess named Rory, who lived with her Mum in the kingdom of Stars Hollow. Her grandparents were King Richard and Queen Emily of Hartford, who lived in the neighbouring kingdom. Now, Princess Rory didn’t grow up as a princess. She grew up as a normal villager until one day, she got accepted to the prestigious Chilton Princess Academy. Now, her mother Lorelai had run away from the Palace of Hartford when Rory was just a small baby and worked at the local inn to survive. She couldn’t afford to send Rory to the academy so, after much thought, she went to ask the King and Queen for a favour. She wanted them to give her money to pay for Rory’s school and she would pay them back as soon as she could. The Queen agreed to this on one condition: Princess Lorelai and Princess Rory would spend every Friday evening at the Palace of Hartford for a meal.”

“Is that why we go to nanny’s for dinner every week?” Sookie asked, peering up at Jess.

“Sort of.” Jess replied. “Your grandma did pay your granny back all of the money but they kept visiting your granny because they wanted to. They had become a family again.”

“I’m home!” Rory called, carrying two bags of Chinese through the front door.

“We’re in here!” Jess whispered loudly as Rory walked into the living room. The sight in front of her melted her heart. Jess was curled up on the corner of the sofa, with Sookie-Lane tucked into his side clutching Colonel Clucker.

Her home had never felt better.

ok so i gave a big long huge ramble about my GaSa4 HC turned AU over on Twitter so i'm gonna put it here because yeah gaming !!! i DO have a Player design which i never drew, and they aren't super present in the AU, but if people wanna see em maybe i'll draw em! lore basics and ART below the cut-off!!! mostly copy/pasted from my Twitter ! i'll post the art separately after for anyone who just wants to reblog specific images, without my long ass ramblings and such lmao. PLEASE ASK ME QUESTIONS THERES SO MUCH LORE FOR THIS WARNING: this AU is based around the GaSa4 bad ending!

this AU started when i realized that Kyu said she would move any extra data from Cashier somewhere else. not delete it, just, move it. ok, so what if that "extra" stuff was his name, model, dialogue, voice sound, personality, etc? what if the stuff that got moved was thrown out of the experience, and is STILL THERE? all of the memories not needed to run GaSa4, like the day shift, meeting Dummy, all still out there, and what if it congealed into THIS GUY

C4SHi3R isn't very stable physically, and gets randomly thrown into Roblox experiences and then zapped back out with no way to choose where he goes or when. he eventually picked up some weapons for self defense in games with zombies and stuff. he doesn't have any memories that would be still needed for GaSa4. he knows he MET people (cough Dummy n Player cough), but doesn't know what they look like, their names, their voices, etc. gets deja vu a lot when seeing someone who looks like them or hearing their names, but tries not to think too hard about it. meanwhile back at GaSa4, Dummy (called Dxmmy for the AU) is stuck there practically alone. the game is stuck constantly looping night time to preserve data space, so FF stays asleep. she thought Cashier died, and spent a lot of time blaming himself for that.

Dxmmy thought Cashier died, and spent a lot of time blaming himself for that. they hate purple now, reminds them too much of the corrupt landscape, but besides that it loves bright colours. it's a lot nicer than the dull darkness in the void, which was mostly browns blacks and greys besides their TV. since C4SHi3R can randomly pop up in any game, that includes back at GaSa4 months later, but his added data only let him stay long enough to do that "literally with you" thing and get out, bringing Dxmmy with him, who now wears the most eyeburning outfits it can find in dress up games. there's a big something unaccounted for though. if C4SHi3R is everything that got removed from GaSa4 to make room, what about what was left behind? what's holding the GaSa4 data now? well, C4SHi3R did encounter someone else while he was briefly back at GaSa4. he met the thing that shoved him out to protect the game from being corrupt all over again, and it was kinda a little bit sorta terrifying for him AND Dxmmy

it's cool though just looks scary and couldn't hold a physical form let alone dialogue text for very long without getting a MASSIVE headache, so it had to be quick with its message. after Dxmmy left, though, that gave it enough room to KINDA ALMOST hold the data for a physical body

NullString's body has a lot of unfilled variables, so unless it's focusing, its limbs will change count at random, along with its height, age, and just... honestly everything. it does its best to keep it all within a manageable range, at least. it had to grieve Dxmmy leaving, and the fact that it could only give itself a reliable less-terrifying mode of communication after it didn't really need that anymore is a massive point of frustration. there are a lot more details to this all, a lot of it tied in with my kissmate's AUs and lore! feel free to ask questions, i love talking about these guys !!!

this was one of the things you told levi when you first started dating, just so he didn’t come over (once y’all got that comfortable) randomly and was surprised by 14 year old. you explained you got pregnant at around 13-14 from making decisions too fast and levi was surprisingly accepting. he made a secret promise to himself that he would try to be the best step dad as possible — he’s not gonna replace your sons dad obviously but he’ll try to a good step dad

he was nervous to meet your son for the first time, he wanted to make a good impression so he cleaned up his house a bit more, make some tea and some snacks for the three of you and then let you guys over. the two boys got along very well and your son taught him about social media (has a surprisingly good amount of tiktok followers, levi was flabbergasted to say the least)

teaches him about teas, cleaning and other things he likes. i feel like levi would have hobbies that 90% of teenagers wouldn’t like doing nowadays but your son is the type of person to like learning about anything and everything (spoiler alert they have tea wednesdays for the guys only. sorry mom!)

would be genuinely confused about tiktok trends and videos he does. he would kinda just sit or stand there like 🕴🏽 the entire video unless he has to talk/answer questions. he obviously gives him permission to post them because he’s not that mean (everyone loves the two together)

dispite not likeing the dad he will still drop your son off every weekend either with you or for you. he just doesn’t talk to him like you and your son so he just kinda stands there and reacts accordingly. will only talk to him if he asks a question (you kinda to talk to him only about your son but that’s it)

(so i was going to post a continuation of the androphobic post with the axis but then tumblr deletes my writing :(, i was pretty much done then i accidentally click on an emoji and it disappears, and i have to rewrite japan, romano and prussia now. :( amd i've lost all motivation to write for that ask, so here's some platonic england. just to avoid confusion, i'm not going back to the old general headcanons format, if the headcanons are specified as romantic or platonic, then this is the format they're written in. under the cut because this is a bit dark.)

𝒴𝒜𝒩𝒟𝐸𝑅𝐸 𝒫𝐿𝒜𝒯𝒪𝒩𝐼𝒞 𝐸𝒩𝒢𝐿𝒜𝒩𝒟 𝒳 𝑅𝐸𝒜𝒟𝐸𝑅

• there are many yandere who, when platonic, become much less of a nightmare. belarus, germany (kinda), russia and america to name a few. as much as i'd like to say this is the case with england, it really isn't. arthur has many expectations of his darling no matter the nature of his obsession, and they will be met no matter how far he has to go.

• as a platonic yandere, he is still overwhelmingly manipulative, perhaps even more then as a romantic one. arthur uses his silver tongue to his advantage, he'll have his darling believing that he's the only one who loves and would protect them, that they're too gullible or naive to make it on their own, he manipulates his darling is a mother gothel-esque fashion, in a similar way to how russia and japan would treat platonic obsessions.

• he's also controlling and possessive, although the latter is not to the same degree as with a romantic obsession. assuming his obsession happens after the revolutionary war, arthur will be hellbent on keeping his darling, and the only way he knows how is to isolate them from the outside world and control their life. if america thought he was controlling during his time as a colony, he's got no idea just how bad he is as a yandere.

• speaking of the revolutionary war, i can't see him developing a platonic obsession before it happened. there are a few circumstances such as the warmonger darling, but as i said, the revolutionary war is where he snaps as a platonic yandere.

• arthur is most likely to obsess over a younger person, as a platonic yandere. of course there are a few circumstances where he could obsess over for someone his age or older, maybe a relative, or a longtime enemy. but he's far more likely to become obsessed with one of his colony should's, or a younger country he's taken under his wing, or a country without a parental figure. i say country, since arthur is one of the least likely countries to fall for a human, romantic or platonic, him and countries like china and france avoid human darlings like the plague. but that's not the say it's impossible.

• no matter the nature of his obsession, arthur doesn't stalk unless he's snapped. he'll hire private investigators, have people watching his darlings every move. stalking isn't gentlemanly nor does it befit someone of his status. arthur doesn't interact with his darling much during his early days of obsession. i'm torn on how he'd treat them when they do, however. he can put on this gentlemanly act to charm them in, or he could act tsundere towards them. for a platonic obsession, i can see him leaning towards both, depending on the person. has he fallen for one of his colony's?, then for the most part he puts on a gentleman act so they won't want to leave.

• but for most other circumstances, especially in his early days of obsession, he'll treat them with disdain and always find something to pick at. but at the same time, the moment someone else tries this with them, they'll get hell from arthur. initially he doesn't know why his darling plagues his mind, and lashes out at them as a result. this is especially true if his darling is a male, like romano, he treats women better then he does men, however he isn't as adament about it as the italian.

• of course, as his obsession develops, he'll regret his behaviour if he was tsundere towards them. and scold himself for not acting like a gentleman. either way, once he reaches the point where he wants to apologise, or whatever the equivalent is for his gentlemanly act is, his darling is absolutely, to put it lightly, fucked. if they're smart they'll accept his apology and play pretend as his friend, because if they don't, then he won't be far off from snapping.

• all it will take is for him to spot his darling with france, or spain, overhear them talking about going somewhere without him, reject an offer for afternoon tea, and his last shred of sanity will shed. and he'll promptly begin planning a way to keep his darling tied to him. arthur is a yandere who, even when snapped, won't act impulsively, unlike italy or sweden.

• as soon as he finds a way to 'kidnap' his darling without any repercussions, he'll expect them to be on their best behaviour, tantrums won't be tolerated. arthur is a rough yandere to be stuck with for the first few months especially, whilst some are their most leniant during this period, arthur is his least.

• most of the time, his methods of teaching them to behave are psychological. he'll use solitary confinement, starvation, manipulation, any way he can to have them meet his expections of a well behaved darling. he finds psychical punishment brutish, even if in his pirate years, he would have done it all the time. there are some instances where he'll loose his cool, and maybe break a bone, or cause a concussion, but he won't apologise, since in arthur's mind, if his darling pushed him far enough to physically hurt them, then the punishment as well deserved.

• as i've said before, arthur is a controlling yandere, and doesn't care if his darling isn't happy about it. but as a platonic yandere, there are ways he can be manipulated into loosening up his leash. as difficult as he is, he genuinely loves his darling, so if he see's them miserable, then after a while, he'll want to make them a bit happier. but his darling should tread carefully, because if he catches on to any fake act, then they're in for a week of solitary confinement.

• not every moment with arthur is horrible, if you enjoy a fancy lifestyle, then arthur might not be so unbearable. he'll even try to improve his cooking skills just so he can cook the both on you a dinner fit for royalty. he'll make his darling comfortable, and after things have settled down, then requests for things to do that don't include outside communication will most likely be fulfilled.

• if englands darling is well behaved enough, then they'll be allowed to attend world meetings again, and do more then just paperwork for their government. for a country darling, arthur is a yandere who understands that if they disappear for too long, things will look suspicious, but a human darling, unless they're a member of a royal family, will be locked away in his house for the rest of their life.

Prompt/summary: After a hard day, what does Iwaizumi want more than anything? To come home and be with you, his wonderful fiancée, though he knew that you might have been asleep because you’d worked all night the previous night and also some of today. He thought that in the worst case scenario he would be able to shower and curl up with you while you slept, but much to his surprise and happiness, you were awake and cooking dinner when he got home. While maybe the night didn’t go as you’d originally planned when dinner burns, you couldn’t have regretted Iwaizumi distracting you even at the cost of the dinner

Notes: It’s Hajime time!! Now that I’m no longer shadowbanned, I’ve been thinking more seriously about what to write. I was worried I might be shadowbanned for a long time like some people happen to be, or even my blog might’ve been deleted if Tumblr was going to be that way, but thankfully it wasn’t! So for my returning post, I have Iwa. This isn’t necessarily sleepy cuddles like the other chapters, but it’s sort of like it? This was just what my brain decided would work for the story, so I hope that you like this!

His stress level was exceeded as he pushed the key into the keyhole. Iwaizumi was stressed after this shitty day, and it had given him a bad stress headache. For the first time in his career, Iwaizumi had wanted to go home early more than anything. He loved what he did— helping people out with their fitness and inspiring them to not just get fit, but to take steps further in life to not be miserable anymore and to learn to love themselves. It was something that he’d always known he wanted to do— but today had sucked, and all he wanted was to come home.

Thankfully when he pulled into the parking lot, your car was here. He knew that you occasionally worked nights at the morgue, and he really needed you right now. The issue was that he didn’t know just how tired or frustrated you were going to be. Being the kind of guy that he was, Iwaizumi chose to comfort other people rather than be comforted himself. Unless it was from you or Oikawa, he had never really wanted to let himself be so vulnerable— and even with you, who he trusts so much, he would rather comfort than be comforted.

You’d worked all night yesterday, and he knew you had some things to get done today, meaning you most likely only got a few hours of sleep, and he wondered if you might have even been asleep now.

Pushing the thoughts aside, Iwaizumi opened his door and stepped inside. The apartment was still, but his hopes weren’t down for too long before you popped your head around the corner from the kitchen and sent him a big grin as you set something down.

“Haj!” Instantly, he felt himself smile as he looked at you when you walked around and hurried over to him. He dropped his bag and opened his arms, that small smile still on his face as you wrapped your arms around his waist and buried your nose against his chest. "Oh, it feels like I’ve hardly even seen you lately.” You said, happy to be with him again and nuzzling your nose against him. “I’ve missed you so much.”

Despite how stressed, hungry and exhausted your fiancé was, he couldn’t help the smile on his face as it widened. He tightened his arms around you and rested his head on top of your own, the smell of your shampoo letting him know that you had showered recently.

“I’ve missed you, too, baby.” He said, pressing a little kiss to your head. “How was work?”

“It was great! Or— well, for me it was.” You said, showing no effort to pull back from the man to speak to him like you usually did so that you could meet his eyes, but he wasn’t complaining one bit as he held you in his arms and enjoyed the feeling of your chilled hands over his shirt holding him back after this shitty day. “The hairdresser didn’t come after I’d finished embalming a patient, so I got to do it myself and earn a little more money.” You explained simply. “How about you? How was work for you?” Since you had such a good day, Iwaizumi was torn. He hated to dampen the mood. What if he’d just lied and said it was fine rather than telling you it had been a bad day? Would anything really change? Your touch would be just as comforting and you wouldn’t seem sad with him for a few minutes, but ultimately, he didn’t have too much time to think before he sighed.

“It was rough.”

“Aww, I’m sorry, baby.” You said, gently rubbing the man’s back and pulling away just a little bit to look up at him. “Do you want to talk about it? Or do you want to come help me make dinner and I can distract you from it?”

“I don’t want to think about it anymore,” he said, gently cupping your cheek in his hand as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose. You smiled, leaning into the man and closing your eyes as he gently pressed his lips to yours. He felt your chilled fingers wrap around his before you suddenly broke the kiss and smiled at him.

“Come on, let’s go make food. I’m starving. I took a 2 hour nap and then showered when I got home, so I have so much energy right now.” You said, waiting for Iwaizumi to kick his shoes off before tugging the man gently after you as he softly chuckled to himself.

“I can see that.” You sent him a cute grin before turning your head around and bringing him with you to the kitchen.

“I’m making honey sesame shirataki,” you said, making your fiancé’s stomach growl at the mere thought of eating. You snickered softly at him but said nothing, pushing a loaf of bread to the side and pulling yourself up onto the counter. You scooted back a little bit, looking at Iwaizumi and opening your arms with another smile as the noodles bubbled in the water beside you. He smiled, wrapping your legs around his waist as he leaned in and pressed his hands beside you on either side of the counter. Your fingers went up into his hair as you pressed a quick kiss to his forehead before he buried his nose against your shoulder.

Leaning your head against him as you reached over to stir the noodles, you were making Iwaizumi already feel more relaxed as you held onto him and played with his hair. He was excited for tonight— to lay on top of you and sleep for the rest of the night with you in his arms. Maybe tomorrow wasn’t Saturday, but he knew that by time tomorrow morning came, he was going to be so much more relaxed and ready to head back to work after being with you.

He always missed you so much when you were at work all night. He understood that your job had the tendency to be rather demanding, but that didn’t make him miss you any less.

You pressed another kiss to his head, looking at the pasta as you stirred it and reaching for the vegetable spatula to stir them as well while Iwaizumi leaned into you. This wasn’t an unfrequent occurrence— for Iwaizumi to be leaned against you while you made dinner after a hard day, though often times he was behind you with his nose buried against your shoulder and his arms around your waist.

“Oh, how is Matsukawa?” Iwaizumi suddenly asked as he slightly pulled back to look at you. He looked tired as you looked at him, but no matter how exhausted he’d looked that day, you still found him so handsome that it was almost ridiculous. As many people had always been so attracted to Oikawa, the man was like a brother to you, and you’d found yourself flushing the second your eyes met Iwaizumi’s.

Now you were somehow lucky enough to be engaged to the man.

“He’s good. He told me to tell you hi— sorry, I got a little bit too excited when I saw you.” Iwaizumi gave a soft chuckle and leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead.

“That’s alright. I don’t think I would ever complain about you being excited to see me.” He said, grabbing the wooden spoon to stir the noodles and helping you take care of dinner. You leaned against him, reaching beneath his arm to stir the vegetables while you relaxed against his shoulder. He pressed another kiss to your head and rubbed your back gently with his thumb while he stirred the pasta.

“What do you want to do tonight?” You asked, breaking the comfortable silence that was shared between the two of you.

“Uhh, do you want to watch a movie?” You nodded gently, nuzzling into his chest.

“Sure. Will you cuddle with me?”

“Of course I will.” He said, glancing over the counter into the living room and thinking of any way to curl up with you— whether it be with him on top of you or you curled against him. Honestly, after this day, merely being in your presence was refreshing enough that he didn’t care if you were sleeping, cuddling in silence, talking, or watching a movie. All he wanted was to be close to you.

A soft kiss to his neck stole Iwaizumi’s attention away from his thoughts. He looked at you, seeing you already looking at him with a cute little smile on your pretty face.

“Whatcha thinking about?”

“You.”

“Oh, really?” You asked, your little smile curling into more of a small smirk as you raised an eyebrow. “What about me?”

“Anything about you.” He said simply, reaching up and brushing your hair back. “I’ve had a really shitty day, but just in these few minutes that I’ve been home with you, you’ve made it so much better.” He said, making your cheeks warm a bit. “I just can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to be the guy you chose to spend the rest of your life with.” You gave a soft laugh and gently shook your head.

“You know, I think that same thing about you.” You said, reaching for his hand and sliding your fingers between his own. “You’ve always been so kind to me even when I felt like I didn’t deserve it. I know that this is kind of cheesy,” you started with a playful eye roll, “But you really do have a heart of gold, Haj. You care about other people, you take care of other people, and never once have you ever asked anything in return. There’s really not anybody else just like you, and I couldn’t ask for a better guy to want me.” He bit his tongue trying not to smile as big as he wanted to.

“I’ve always wanted you.” He said softly, giving your hand a light squeeze and forcing himself to hold eye contact even as he got flustered by your words. “Ever since I saw you. I thought… I don’t know— right at first I thought that you might have been the type to go for Oikawa. You have no idea how happy I am that you went for me.” You smiled and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips and resting your forehead against his afterwards.

“If I could do it all over again, I would still choose you.” Iwaizumi smiled wider, about to say something back before he sniffed and pulled back to look at the noodles.

“I think the food is burning.” You hesitated for a second, slowly looking away from your fiancé to the food that was in fact burning. Slowly, you reached over and shut the burners off before looking back at Iwaizumi and sucking your teeth.

“Take-out and cuddling while we watch Godzilla?”

“You really do know me.”

Okay, so @simgerale asked how I made a pic look “painted”, without using the Oil Paint Filter. This tutorial is gonna cover how I made the pic above, as well as some bonus stuff. If you don’t wanna learn how to do it yourself, there’s a Photoshop Action download at the end of the post, which has (almost) all the steps I use to make a painted pic!

Tutorial under the cut, since this is gonna get long!

Step 1:

Find your pic! I’m gonna be using this one of Fallon’s mother, Rosalynn when she was Queen. I used reshade for this pic, specifically @/growfruite’s all these sudered things preset. (click on the name for a link) BUT you can do this on an unedited pic too!

Step 2 (optional):

Do your pre-editing! I ran the Clean and Sharp action from THIS set by @/squea, and the the Beauty Queen: Smooth Filter 50% from THIS set by @/intravertt. After that, I ran the lil dramatic tbh action from THIS set by @/wooldawn. All fo that is my standard editing for just about every pic, so I ran these for consistency’s sake, but skip this step, or replace with your favorite actions.

NOTE: Clean and Sharp requires Topaz Clean to work.

After that additional editing, the image looks like this:

Now the real fun starts!

Step 3:

Now it’s time to actually start making the image look painted! Go to Layer > Flatten Image if your image isn’t already flat. Then right click on the layer (should be the only one you have!!) and select Duplicate Layer. Just hit Okay.

Right click on the duplicated layer (should be named “Background copy”) and select Convert to Smart Object. This is VERY important, because otherwise the filters won’t work correctly!!

Your layers tab should now look like this:

Note: I recommend keeping the Background layer locked for the whole time. That way you don’t accidentally edit it.

Step 4:

With the top layer selected, go to Filter > Filter Gallery. A window should pop up. If there are any filters applied already, delete all but one of them. (this should not be the case, unless you have used this window before)

Select Paint Daubs under the “Artistic” category. Set your settings to this:

(Brush Size: 2, Sharpness 0)

Then hit Okay. Your image should now look a little softer, kind of smoothed out.

Here’s what mine looks like!

Step 5:

Now is where stuff gets a little more complicated. You’re going to duplicate the current layer (Background copy) so that you have “Background copy 2″. (You can also duplicate the Background layer, as long as you set it to Smart Object.)

Double click on the words “Filter Gallery” that should be under the name of the top layer (Background copy 2).

This will reopen the Filter Gallery. If you duplicated the one we had already put a filter on, it should bring you right to the Paint Daubs filter. If not, click on Paint Daubs again.

Set the Brush Size to 6 and sharpness to 0.

Your image is going to look really weird in the preview, super blurry and smooth, but that’s okay, it’s not going to stay that way!!

At the bottom right of the Filter Gallery, there’s a button with a “+” on it.

Click that button. It will automatically duplicate the effect you already have, making things even worse, but don’t worry!! Either drag the new Paint Daubs layer to the bottom, or select the bottom one.

Now, got to Dry Brush, which is also under the Artistic category.

Set Brush Size to 1, Brush Detail to 10, and Texture to 1.

Now press Okay.

Your image is going to look SUPER whacky, but that’s okay!! Here’s what mine looks like right now:

Step 6:

Now it’s time to make things look better! With that top layer selected (Background copy 2), go to Filter > Stylize > Find Edges. There’s no settings with this one, it just does it’s thing.

Your image is going to look even weirder now, but don’t worry, we’ll fix it!!

Step 7:

I’ve been saying this whole time that we’re gonna fix the whacky-ness, and now it’s actually time to do it!!!

While selected on the top layer (Background copy 2), change the Blending Mode to Multiply, and set the Opacity to 20%. Now things should look better.

This is what my image looks like now:

As you can (hopefully) see on your own image, it now looks like the sim has been painted!!

Yay, we’re almost done!!

Step 8: From here on out is OPTIONAL, but I recommend it for a nice touch of detail/realism.

Find an image of watercolor paper. Here’s a bunch on Unsplash! (A lifesaver!! All pics on Unsplash are 100% for you to do as you wish with them, no charge. But consider dropping some credit to the person who took the pic.)

I’m gonna use THIS one by Olga Thelavart.

Open that image in PS, hit Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C to copy the image. (If you’re on a Mac, it’s Command + A and Command + C)

Then go back to you image and hit Ctrl + V to paste it. (Note: the good thing about Unsplash images is that they are so HQ that you won’t even need to resize the image, if you’re using a standard size screenshot.)

The paper texture should be labled as Layer 1 in your layers tab. If it’s not already, drag it to the top of the Layers tab.

Now, change the blending mode to Multiply.

Your image should have some additional texture, like it was ACTUALLY painted on paper.

And that’s it!! You’ve successfully made a “painted” portrait!! You can crop and adjust it however you’d like after this, but this is the basics. I usually crop my painted portraits to 4:5 if everything fits, but you can crop however you’d like!

Like I said, I crop to 4:5, resize to 720 pixels wide, and then run my Blurry Edges action (which is based off of @/warmsol’s action, which I could never get to work for me.)

[I didn’t have the psds saved so I had to remake them but as far as i remember this is how I made the original ones too since my process hasn’t changed a lot since then.]

Planning

Surprisingly all three of the above gifsets were part of my the untamed x color series so not a lot of thought was put into the panning since the scene or characters were already chosen for me.

If a scene isn’t specified like the last two I go through the episodes or clips to pick out the scenes i want to gif or those which would look good based on the general theme of the set.

(this is a part of the cql folder where i’ve clipped out the major/ defining scenes. please excuse the ridiculous names asjjsd it helps me remember what they contain)

Creating

For this tutorial/process I’ll explain the wangxian in purple one in detail and then go over the other two briefly since it’s almost the same process.

So I selected the exchange between wangxian where wwx’s talking about helping out with the yin iron and imported it.

Then I converted to timeline before converting the layers to smart filter. After this I start my base coloring process which is just messing around with the curve and selective color layer until i get the skin tones accurate and the over all, the gif more brighter.

Now since the request called for purple/indigo I added another selective color layer and the adjusted the cyan and blue options under it to make it purple instead. **what i usually is that I adjust the colors slightly in one layer and then adjust a little more after adding another layer.

it resulted in three more layer (which sometimes get adjusted even in the end if it looks like it needs more tinkering.

Overlay:

The hunt for overlay usually takes the longest unless I don’t already have it saved. I was just going through my folder when I realized it might look good with this. So I opened, cropped and resized the snow gif and then after converting it to smart filter duplicated it onto the lwj gif.

I play around with the blending options (for this one I used color dodge) and since this doesn’t obstruct the main gif I only used the layer mask for lwj’s face after decreasing the opacity like this.

Then after adding my watermark I finally convert everything to smart filter again, then smart sharpen my gifs (using the settings 0.5) and adding gaussian blur (setting it to 0.3) before exporting it and saving for the web.

Here’s the finished result as compared to the original.

Posting

Like Monica I can’t keep gifs in my draft more then a day (and that too is a stretch lmao, the itch to post is real sjdjdsj). So i either queue it for the next day day if its getting really late or just post it right away. I don’t save any psds unless I really like the coloring of it and even that gets deleted after a week. (the only gifs that get saved occasionally are gfxs for future reference).

2- Coloring for Wangxian x Rainbow

For the rainbow series, I had to make a list of all the scenes I wanted to add ( i wanted to include all the landscape/scenic ones with wangxian so that involved going through a lot of episodes). The whole process is nearly the same apart from the coloring which required more selective color layers and masking (i forgot to save the picture after applying the masking in this one, oops!)

Strangely enough, there was a time when I might have complained to a moderator who included something like that in this blog, but apparently, I’ve become a little softer toward lewd jokes since I joined here. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Co-Mod: You’re welcome, and thank you for reminding me why I got into this blog in the first place: the idea of communicating with video game characters, while perhaps a little nerdy, creates a very unique feeling of intrigue, excitement, and joy. Anyway, thanks a bunch! To answer your question, I’ve experimented with fanfiction in the past, but never shared any of it (unless you count this blog as fanfiction, which it sort of is). I used to write short stories about Sonic the Hedgehog, Star Fox, Mario, and Kirby -- none of which I’d be comfortable sharing, sorry to say -- but more recently, I’ve had a few ideas for stories about specific characters, including but not limited to, Sister Iris, Alita Tiala, Danganronpa’s Sayaka Maizono, and even Doki Doki Literature Club’s Mon-Squid Monika. I’m a big fan of side characters, apparently.

...Oh, and I’ve had story ideas for male characters, too, like Apollo and Edgeworth. Not just the cute girl characters. Should I ever decide to make something of those ideas, just remember that you heard about them here first!

Mod Edgeworth: I do write fan fiction actually. Not as much as I used to, but that’s what happens when you grow up to be 30 with a job.

While we’re on the subject, I’ve developed a sort of love-hate relationship with Danganronpa -- watching a playthrough of the first game was, to put it politely, not a fun experience for me, but even so, I found myself falling in love with the characters (the same goes for the second game, which I somehow talked myself into watching). I’m also starting to see why Ibuki’s so well-liked. She’s a dolt, but she’s a lovable dolt.

I guess you could say she’s adored for the same reason as ol’ Gumshoe.

Mod Edgeworth: I’ve kinda grew bored of the 16P tests, to be honest.

Co-Mod: My results from this test were very similar to those from the last one, oddly enough: I got INTP (The Architect) as the best match, INTJ (The Mastermind) as a “Very Good Match” and INFP (The Healer) as a “Good Match.” I’m still in the process of figuring myself out, so I’m gonna go with my intuition and say INFP (Mediator/Healer) describes me best. I guess that’s the ‘N’ part of my personality talking.
