Tw: death mention/discussion, and general ruin spoilers

I just wanted to have a hot take I haven’t seen talked about yet. It’s what I assumed on my first playthrough of ruin throughout the daycare section.

I think we euthanised the boys. When Eclipse wakes up they act as if it was their first time waking up, which could be explained because they had never gotten out before? Or the birthday line because Roxy also mentions Cassie’s birthday.

But when I took that scene individually I thought the ‘happy birthday’ line was a pre-programmed interaction when seeing a kid. They go there to celebrate birthdays, so the first thing you do is say that. Imagine how happy the kid will be that their favourite robot knew it was their birthday.

Think about it. When Eclipse first comes out it’s like they don’t realise their own ruined state, or how they asume kids will come in the morning. If the daycare attendant had been reset, that whole interaction is probably how they’d wake up. After all, how else wouldn’t they know after so much time that kids aren’t coming anymore. Then again, you could argue that it’s Eclipse’s first time waking up, but still.

Hasn’t anyone else noticed how Sun’s voiceline in the end is like the whispers you hear from the mask. I genuinely thought that’s what had happened and was surprised by the fandoms generally upbeat reaction.
