I would love to farm blizzard domain with you, I need it for my ayaka/xinqui, I also think we run on similar time so it works out

I main Xiao/scara a lot rn and my usual team is like Xiao scara Bennet and qiqi

I love qiqi she isy healer and so good

when I began building a freeze team, I chose ayaka, xinqui, kazuha, and I was on the fence If I wanted to build chongyun or diona for it

I also donf believe in meta, kazuha was my first 5 star and he's was my DPS for a long time (I also want klee for him tho) before him tho, I was a Noelle main all the way

I have diona half built but chongyun is a claymore and I'm more used to claymore than bows, I still don't know I haven't decided. I have my mind set on getting ayato and zhongli tho (ayato bc siblings, and zhongli because xiao)

sometimes when I run scara/kaz I add Raiden into there for fun, it's just their skills work so well together yk(also understated combo, qiqi+Raiden has saved me in abyss many times)

how do you run both xiao and scara?? unless like scara for skill and xiao for burst- but no xiao’s skill….? they’re both p selfish onfield, i’m curious as to how that works.

also i recommend chongyun. said it before but he + xingqiu = permafrost. you have swords so it won’t shatter and his skill infuses normal attacks w/ cryo, so swirling hydro w/ kazuha means constant freeze (mostly)

yeah diona heals but xingqiu does too so i. call that a win. also i’m biased against bow users bc i don’t like their normal attacks :/

scara kaz and raiden sounds fun from a playstyle perspective but like….. do i even wanna think about that in terms of sagau— sorry that’s exactly where my mind went lmao- like the two offfield are 100% glaring at each other (bc i’m assuming you use raiden for her skill then swap out? idk i don’t play her :/ ) kazuha and scara likely get along (i’m told scaras voicelinf abt kazu is positive? but i haven’t done the quest yet to unlock it so no spoilers) since they’re both: wanderers ✅ wronged by the raiden shogun ✅ have dead friends ✅ anemo vision w/ skill for height ✅ so i think they’d get along well.

qiqi n raiden superconduct (i’m assuming?) sounds incredible, and i can’t imagine how useful qiqi is in the abyss. since kukis permanently on my team and at low health, she does p easily at the highest floors, and i hate having to reset so qiqis passive (whichever one idk i don’t have her) would be a lifesaver. (provided it works in the abyss? idk i don’t have her-)

In Genshin, who are your favourite characters: 1) Lore and story wise, 2) Gameplay wise (how fun and useful they are) 3) Visual design wise and 4) Personality wise?

...I uninronically have to say Zhongli for all of these, but I’ll also add in another character for each because y’all already see me ramble about Zhongli every day 🥺

| Lore and Story

Zhongli - Do I need to say more... I absolutely love the narrative trope of “ancient powerful immortal learns how to be gentle with humans” and that’s Zhongli to a T. Even before I knew about Guizhong I was Hooked on him and now he lives rent free in my brain at all times.

Childe - His lore is deeply interesting to me, what’s with the whole falling into the Abyss as a tiny Babey. I feel like he’s going to be the gateway into a lot of important story elements, such as more information on the Abyss, the lady who lives there and saved him, the overarching villainy of the Tsaritsa, etc. Also we just love 1 (one) feral little boy who tried to fight everyone, got sent to the military as punishment, and then fought so good that he got Promoted to fight MORE.

| Gameplay

Zhongli - Uhhhh I have him at C6 so that might might skew my opinion a bit but hands down he’s my most used unit, and that’s with me having all units except Klee. I just don’t die with his constellation heal and burst shield, pillar is always nice during exploration, the mans is a Mining Machine, and the petrification for controlling adds is just 👌👌 I’ve also always been fond of the “summoner” playstyle in most games AND I love filling the bruiser / tank role so Zhongli being both of them was absolutely perfect. That said, the Zhongli buffs are absolutely welcome for those without his constellations, only the best stats and kit for the CEO of GEO.

Albedo - Geo supremacy gang rise up.. I love Albedo for being a super solid off-field, selfless support — I don’t have any decent artifacts on him  but he still consistently adds on so much off field damage to my Phys DPS Zhongli with his super low cooldown E. It also charges up my Zhongli burst like no tomorrow, 10/10 best battery. The yellow blossoms are also just so so pretty and the tactile / visual / audio feedback on them is 👌

| Visual Design

Zhongli - The man could step on me and I would thank him. He can kick me like his spear. I bleached my hair ombré so I could begin to touch a hint of his divinity. I literally stand there in-game and just zoom in on him sometimes. Ever since I got the Kamera my hard drive has been screaming for the sweet release of death from the thousands of Zhongli pictures I’ve snapped. I'm learning Liyue music on a piano I haven’t touched in four years, so I can imagine playing his city’s music for him. My right hand is muscle memoried to repeatedly run his attack sequence and stop at the spear kick animation so I can imagine myself being the spear. Yeah I think he’s kinda cute! 👀 👉🏻👈

Xinyan - Trying to stray away from 5* characters here. Love her outfit, love her hair, love her facial design in general. Her ult animation was the highlight of the 1.1 trailer for me (besides Mr. Zhongli of course) She got swept under the rug because of the Zhongli debacle and it’s super sad because she’s a very solidly designed unit with beautiful animations. I also love that her instrument is a traditional lyre that she canonically designed to look like a rock guitar.

| Personality

Zhongli - We’ll be here all day if I really really start poppin’ about Zhongli’s personality so I’ll try and keep it short. Zhongli’s personality is an ENIGMA to me that I have and will continue to spend countless hours studying. I’ve been thinking of releasing my findings in a character analysis, tbh, because like. There’s so much. On the surface he’s a well-meaning, kind, gentle if not a little out-of-touch individual with a flair for the traditional / fancy. 

But??? He won the Archon war? We know from Roald’s Adventurer Diaries, where he slips into Osial’s memories, that Zhongli was absolutely BRUTAL during the war. What changed him? (Guizhong) How long did he take to change? What has he learned during the last 6,000 years of life -- certainly how to manipulate mortals like puppets, as we see from his Archon quest, which no one seems to address?? Is there some part of Archon-War-Victor Morax still in there, waiting for the right spark to ignite his fuse? Yo??? I’m.... just have a lot of feelings about Zhongli’s character. 

Beidou - Pirate.. lady... hnnghh,,, step me,, ; ; Beidou is a character we haven’t seen quite yet but just her voicelines and story intrigue me so much. She killed Haishan without a Vision, stopped singing completely after said kill, is doing some kind of dirty work for the most powerful people in Liyue whilst boldly proclaiming that she is their equal,,, has a huge family and a heart of gold, seems to be against the social hierarchy of Liyue yet tolerates working with the Qixing? There’s so much going on and I for one am eagerly awaiting 2.0 not for Inazuma, but for seeing her in the story

So like, whose your favorite chars and ships and roles? *rolls all over your blog* I know you like albedo, as you should, but I feel like your big brain hides hidden potential of reasons

Ehe I have a lot to say and a lot of people to go through so...most will be under the cut. Like this is really just going to be me going on about what I like about a bunch of characters.

My works are a love letter to the characters nodnod y'know that quote--

Oh!! Okay okay uhhh here's a few of my faves and reasons:

Albedo:

There's a lot of similar interests-! Also being an alchemist/scientist is my dream.

His personality is very sweet and his interactions with others (like during the Golden Apple Archipelago) are hilarious and endearing. Like...the whole slipping away while Diluc and Kaeya were bickering? His little comment hinting that he had to yell at them while riding Dvalin due to the wind and their volume? Then every interaction with Klee (including his character trailer) are so wholesome uuuuu

Albedo, my beloved-

His outfit!! I want to get Albedo cosplay just for the jacket

Also his movements, attack wise, are very polished and clean-cut! It's pretty obvious that his style is similar to that of fencing, but then you also see that he often will condense his sword into pure geo or thrust it out in a burst of gold!! And his Q???? He snaps and then his burst just---bursts fourth out of the ground???

Man's skilled.

And then ehe...I just really am into the archetype of a smart, gentle, yet modest person and he fits that bill perfectly.

I can't wait to see more about him! We know such a small amount about him since his character story was intertwined w/ introducing Dragonspine and also more about him testing the Traveler--also we didn't get to play as him during it :<<

Xiao

He is a very gentle character who's been through so much and I admire his ambition and willingness and selflessness

I really like his attacks, too--the fluidity of his movements that ties in with his backstory and just his personality in general

I also want his outfit

There's just something about his character that is incredibly appealing--you see him at his worst with the Karmic Debt, the rawness of his personality due to his blunt way of speaking and the earnestness that he displays

Lots of quiet protection nodnod. You have to talk to one of the NPCs to find this out, but he helped a little girl get her doll back after it'd been taken by Hilichurls. He didn't have to do it because it's not something that people would consider important, but his duty extends beyond that. If he can help it, he will lend a hand

Also the interactions we have?? Like when he saves Traveler (the subtle shift of his grip on their hand, a little offer of stability) and then in Moonchase now?? *chef's kiss*

Xinyan

I LOVE HER

First off, she's a rockstar who's taken something and made it entirely her own?? Her guitar is of her own design too!! It's made to work with her pyro vision!!! Like how cool is that????

Her personality is strong, down to earth--ugh man she's so cool

I want to be friends with her so bad

She's absolutely strong-I personally built her as a phys dps so her shield doesn't really do much but man does she carry. If none of the boys can handle the job, I swap her in and she sweeps the field clean. Those mobs never stood a chance nodnod

Her aesthetic!! I also want her outfit. I want everyone's outfit.

While her en voice got a lot of questions/hate, I love it. I can't help but feel pumped up and ready when I use her skill and burst and she shouts out "Time to rock!!"

Her dedication to her music and unyielding determination to get her name out there is incredible, I can't help but admire her passion for music.

I just really love music, even if I'm trained more for classical + operatic ehe rock's actually my favorite genre so it's all the more better!

Xingqiu

Ah! The first time I saw him I immediately decided that I'd adopt him on the spot nodnod kinda like having a kid brother, y'know?? I think we'd get along well

Also the fact that he's a bookworm??? Again, I gravitate towards people who are considered smart--no matter what it's about! You could be incredibly knowledgeable about snails and only that and I will listen to you go on and on

He's a prankster! Poor Chongyun, being the butt of most of his jokes and all.

But like his character is really cute and I had a lot of fun listening to all his voicelines--there's a lot of funny stuff going on with him like his dislike for carrots, his handwriting-- but then he's also dedicated to his martial arts and helping others no matter the task! Very chivalrous indeed nodnod

A few of my other favorites are: Beidou, Kazuha, Scaramouche (it's a love hate)

Moving onnnn!!

I'll do roles first :DD

My favorite to play, hands down, are full on DPS and Support/DPS. Xiao, Kazuha, Albedo, Xinyan, Kaeya-- there's a lot but these are the peeps that I have, am currently, or would main.

I started off as a hybrid Kaeya main (some phys, some elemental), then Xiao's been my main DPS since!

Kazuha is incredible in tandem w/ Xiao because of his cc as well as his em buffs nodnod. Also Kazuha is just really fun to play in general.

Ngl, I think that getting and playing Xiao basically ruined all other characters for me because you can pry his attacks and burst plunging (very fun) out of my cold, dead hands (/j). The quickness of his attacks and playstyle--lots of poking w/ spear and then dodge + attack at the same time with his skill. 10/10 very fun, absolutely love.

As for support/DPS, this is more fun to do in co-op ehe. I usually end up playing Kazuha, Raiden (her skill gives all party members that passive extra electro dmg whenever you land a hit) or another elemental-based character--

That being said, elemental damage, when paired up to procc reactions is ugh sooo good.

Ships!!

I saved this for last because I know it's not everyone's cup of tea ehe. After all, I'm an x Reader blog!

But that being said--

I like the idea of XiaoVen, but I prefer KazuXiao because I feel like they'd work better together--this kinda goes over why. There'd be a lot of respect between the two.

Though, XiaoVen is really cute because they have complimenting personalities nodnod. Also froggie hat. And the idea of Venti being the one to play the flute that helped Xiao.

BeigGuang!!! Their dynamic is hilarious--not to mention that they do get along well but just so happen to butt heads often because their views are so wildly different-

YanTao! I feel that they'd be really cute together! Also Yanfei would probably make sure that Hu Tao stays out of trouble ehe...

XingYun! Very cute and wholesome--platonic or romantic, either way. The fact that they have matching friendship tassels?? Xingqiu seeking Chongyun out to read to him? OTL

I don't have any NOTPs, at least among the popular ships but I do get a little icky about AlbeRose because of some...unsavory experiences due to someone who overstepped. So ehe. We'll not talk about that.

But like Sucrose is really cute! I love her character and she's very sweet and the excitement that she shows with her research is something I relate to heavily! It's just--ahh the ship itself was ruined for me.

The first character I first fell in love with: HONESTLY ningguang, venti and barbara!! i really thought ningguang would be part of my dream team hehe, but her playstyle still confuses me!! barbara just looks like the type of character i would love, and i was right about that ∩^ω^∩ after i actually started playing though i fell in love with lisa pretty quick hehe <3

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: albedo and klee because i had no idea they existed for a bit!! and then when i was introduced to their characters :] absoloutely loved them.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: bennett i think!! i think he's super cute but i never really think about him </3

The character I love that everyone else hates: PAIMON IS OVER-HATED !!! they honestly makes the game so much more fun for me personally <3 paimon is just the cutest!!

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: kokomi :( i even pulled for her banner and saved so much to get her, and i did which is a win!! i still love her design but genshin's rushed writing for inazuma and the fan service in her story quest did her nooo justice </3 kinda upsetting but i'll just give her a personality myself muwahah.

The character I would totally smooch: BEIDOU <3 mwah

Genshin Impact, Discussion of the Pyro Element Part 1

I was going to do geo next but I realized there are 7 pyro characters and soon to be 8 and more because mihoyo loves pyro, I decided to go over them. But a lot of these characters have a lot to go over so I will be spliting this into two parts, Mondstadt first and Liyue second.

This is the same deal as the anemo discussion, this is not a discussion of gameplay or playstyle, just each character’s lore.

This contains character and story spoilers for Genshin Impact.

With that, let’s get started

I want to start off with Amber, infamous for a few reasons but I want to start off with her since she is the first pyro character of 7 that we meet.

Amber is the Outrider of the Knights of Favonius, better put, the only Outrider of the Order. Amber is a very energetic woman and very passionate as a knight and citizen of Mondstadt. There isn’t a ton in Amber’s stories other than her story about her relationship with her grandfather.

Amber’s grandfather was a mercenary from Liyue Harbor but went to Mondstadt and joined the Knights after he was saved by one of their medics. Amber’s grandfather founded the Outrider order in the Knights and Amber would always watch him train them, then in the evening practice what she saw him taught. Then 4 years before present day Teyvat, Amber’s grandfather just left. Not saying why or to where. After that slowly the order of Outriders fell apart until it had no one.

Amber is now the only Outrider in the Knights now, she got her vision after she felt lost since she couldn’t find her grandfather. She read the book of fables from her quest and it ignited the fire in her that she had to forge her own path and “there has to be something only I can do.”

Amber is one of the best people to look to when looking at one detail most pyro characters have, passion or vibrant personalities. Pyro is the element of the god of war but many of them are more passionate than forces in a battle.

Next up, let’s talk about Diluc.

Okay, where to start with Diluc. A lot about him is simplified to “daddy issues,” so I’m going to try to explain Diluc as accurately as I can in a timely manner for the sake of your time.

Diluc is the owner of Dawn Winery, just from looking at him, most people can tell there’s something more to him. Diluc has a spoken distaste to the Knights of Favonius, but 4 years before present day Teyvat he was a member of the Knights of Favonius. He even became Calvary Captain at the young age of 14. Everything put together from Diluc’s childhood makes him sound like a knightly prodigy. A vision at the age of ten, a father who encouraged him to be a knight, and even becoming a captian at a young age.

When Diluc was a child, the exact age is unknown, his father, Crepus, found Kaeya abandoned on the road near Dawn Winery. The two were practically raised as brother and shared a close bond. On Diluc’s 18th birthday while his father and he were on their way back to the winery, they were attacked by Ursa the Drake. His father fought when Diluc was unable to and the power her used, a delusion, ultimately back fired at the end of the fight killing him.

After that, more things are told to Diluc that changes his life and world view even further. Kaeya tells him about his own past and how he ended up in Mondstadt and under Crepus’ care. Diluc lashes out and the both almost engage in a fight, but it doesn’t happen. When Diluc went to the Knights of Favonius head quarters he was told to “conceal the truth.”

Diluc then left the Knights of Favonius, his vision, and Mondstadt itself. Summarized, Diluc spent the next few years trying to learn more about delusions and learning about it’s ties to the Fatui. Eventually, Diluc does return to Mondstadt and even still protects Mondstadt in the night. There’s more to still touch on, but that’s for a different discussion.

Next let’s discuss Klee

Klee is known as the Spark Knight of the Knights of Favonius. Klee is a very eccentric young girl and destructive despite her best intentions. Klee is often getting into trouble by causing explosions and even though she doesn’t mean too most of the time, she often spends a lot of time in solitary confinement.

Klee was entrusted to the Knights of Favonius three years before present day Teyvat just before her parents left on an adventure. Klee’s mother is the vibrant adventurer and writer of the Teyvat Travel Guide, Alice. Just from what little we know about Alice the parallels between her and Klee are there. Like mother, like daughter. To Klee the Knights of Favonius are like her family, but her mother is still her greatest role model. Klee has a very close bond with Albedo from the close bond he and Alice had. He was told to “treat her like a sister” and that’s how the pair that seem like total opposites, because they technically are, happened.

How Klee gained her vision is somewhat known. The event, where she was testing out a new bomb but it made her workshop turn to ash, is known, but it can be assumed it’s from the passion she has to making bombs even despite the failures.

Next up, Bennett

Bennett is the leader of Benny’s Adventure Team, and sadly, it’s only member. Bennett’s gag or shtick in Genshin is his very unfortunate bad lack, just the term bad luck is a bit of an understatement. Bennett used to have members of his adventure team but they quickly left after instances of being affected by Bennett’s bad swing with luck. Though despite that, Bennett is still a pretty happy person. Even when his adventures don’t turn out the best, he’s still optimistic. Like how in the Windblume story event after he and Razor get freed from the cage he isn’t angry with Razor and even gave Razor his food while they were there.

Bennett was raised in the adventurers guild by the older men there, whom he calls all of them “dad.” Bennett is a good kid, I say this with 100% bias. He’s close friends with Fishcl, one of her only friends really, same for Razor.

How Bennett got his vision is pretty sad, he was on an adventure and was bleeding out but he kept going to reach the destination. In the end there was nothing there and in his emotions and pain from his injuries, passed out. When he woke up the wounds were cauterized and he had a vision in his hand. Part of me assumes his scars on his arms are from this day, but Bennett is a determined kid who despite the challenges still tries his absolute best.

A lot of this is summarized due to the sheer length this was if I didn’t. There’s a lot more to some of these characters I wanted to get into but simply didn’t want to make this too lengthy. I really don't know know I've been this lucky when I usually have very shit luck 😭 and kokomi is soo good, I have her as a healer rn but I'm going to make her into a dps even tho she can't crit which honestly doesn't bother me that much and her idles are super cute. also I'm super sure you'll get her but if u asked me, you should farm for her artifacts after her banner comes so u can do the demo and see what makes her deal the most damage

yep I'm really short on primos rn because I took a long break from genshin to focus on other things and missed the lantern rite. also I don't know what c1 kokomi does I honestly just want her bc my friend doesn't have her and I want to show off my luck 😭 but I'm spreading my luck to u so u get all the 5 stars u want!!

also I love qiqi she's so cute, I've never pulled her (somehow) so I've never really seen how much she can heal but I heard the clam set is really good for most healers + xingqui

also I kinda hope Childe or Klee have a rerun this year since I skipped both of their banners 😭

qiqi’s healing is wild, she heals so much, literally her only issue is uptime, but taser teams generate sm energy that it shouldn’t be a big issue! also i never thought of using it for xingqiu but tbh it kinda makes sense? like if he’s the only one on the team who can heal

i think they’ll be back, dw!! and tbh so ive only pulled four limited five stars - kazuha, childe, xiao, and zhongli, in that order, and im rlly happy i picked childe bc 1. he’s one of my favorites, both in terms of characterization and playstyle, and 2. he is a great investment for my teams!! so i’d definitely say pulling childe is a good move, tbh i don’t know much abt klee’s playstyle tho? she is so cute ;-; <3
