Hi Zak!! For the ask meme: 4, 7, and/or 35 please? Have a lovely weekend :D
HI HI GALENA :DDD thank u for the well wishes and the asks hehe
4. What’s a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
idk if this means feral (positive) or feral (negative) so im just gonna do both, HAHA
feral (positive): vitriol. idk, it's sounds like what it's talking about but the.....texture of the word sounds and looks like dripping blood. im not sure how to explain this kjhVKJHSDF but some words just give me a full sensory experience sometimes. this is one of them and i love this word so Much
feral (negative): colonel. whY IS IT SPELLED LIKE THAT IF IT'S PRONOUNCED KER-NEL!!!!!!!!
-
7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
waaahh,,,,i think it's a tie between like:
finally being able to put into words a scene i had extensively daydreamed about. like i wanted it to exist so bad and if i do it justice, the absolute satisfaction is Immense
affecting people. it means the world to me when people say something i wrote resonated with them personally. and every once in a while, i get an ask or a dm from somebody telling me that my writing had helped in a tangible thing they did/experience. like getting to know themselves better or starting writing themselves or god. the one i will remember up to this day is one person who told me i helped inspire them to write, and now theyre taking a master's degree in creative writing. it fills my heart with absolute joy and im just. honored my work can affect ppl. in any way and in all the ways
-
35. What’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens?
"show dont tell" JHAJKSHVFKJHASVKFJHAS
in general i dont like writing "rules" if they posit themselves as absolute Law to be followed for Good Writing. cuz Good Writing is subjective and all kinds of methods can be used to achieve it!!
"show dont tell" is one of those cuz whenever i see it, it always seems to be talked about like. you must Always be showing and not Telling. personally, i dont like that. cuz showing and telling both have their uses and it's completely dependent on the scene and purpose on which one will be more effective
i do a Lot of telling. like, i do showing as well, but i LOOOOVE telling.
a lot of my fics start with like, a paragraph of internal ramble from the character. it indeed is just telling thoughts outright, but i love using that paragraph to not just tell information but tell the reader that information Through the voice of the pov, if that makes sense? it hits 2 birds, 1 stone: set a bedrock of information from where the fic can take and set the mood and tone that the fic will do.
-
thank u for the asks!! (੭ˊ꒳ˋ)੭✧

Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely. That means that if I want to do any of those things, I have to exit the game, do whatever it is I need to do, then rejoin the server, wait in a queue, and then start. Please fill out the CAPTCHA below and then click the button to indicate that you agree to these terms. You have to understand though, if I want to add someone to a Skype call I have to Alt-Tab out, or if someone sends me a message on Steam, etc. I can still move the mouse around but I can't click on anything and keyboard. If you wish to be unblocked, you must agree that you will take immediate steps to rectify this issue. So, I just reinstalled BF4 and am having following issue: When launched (no matter whether from battlelog or through the ingame menu), the game loads into the map just fine but after a few seconds, the entire game just stop responding to any input. If you do not understand what is causing this behavior, please contact us here. I can no longer alt-tab out of the game without the game pausing I like leaving the game running in the background to make me money in it while I'm doing other activities on my computer I can't do that anymore I don't know when you guys patched the ability to do that out of the game but I was able to do it in version 1. If you promise to stop (by clicking the Agree button below), we'll unblock your connection for now, but we will immediately re-block it if we detect additional bad behavior. After restarting Fallout 4 pressing the equivalent button from above will open the console.

Should this for some reason not work, you can always set your keyboard's language layout to US in the Windows control panel.
Overusing our search engine with a very large number of searches in a very short amount of time Specifically 'Alt Gr' and the + key next to the enter button (not the numpad).
If you don't want to run another program, just create an empty folder on your desktop and open it. If you had already had another window open, alt-tab should switch to it.
Cant alttab out of bf4 windows 10#
I just downloaded windows 10 bedrock and I cant get rid of the awful. I think that usually happens if you only have one program running. I cant put another screen near mines because i dont have enough open space for that.Yeah you coudent alt tab out of ff11 too but thats an old game now.
Using a badly configured (or badly written) browser add-on for blocking content Now make sure that in the view tab in explorer, that hidden items checkbox. 4 TerryLaze : First off make sure you are not running anything that messes with the input, like joystick emulators or remote controls with your joypad and so on.
Running a "scraper" or "downloader" program that either does not identify itself or uses fake headers to elude detection.
Using a script or add-on that scans GameFAQs for box and screen images (such as an emulator front-end), while overloading our search engine.
As previously mentioned, I doubt it's the encoder or any setting concerning the encoder, since the webcam capture (or anything but the game capture) is buttery smooth. There is no official GameFAQs app, and we do not support nor have any contact with the makers of these unofficial apps. Yes, I have tried with just a game capture source and using x264 instead of NVENC. Continued use of these apps may cause your IP to be blocked indefinitely. This triggers our anti-spambot measures, which are designed to stop automated systems from flooding the site with traffic.
Some unofficial phone apps appear to be using GameFAQs as a back-end, but they do not behave like a real web browser does.
Using GameFAQs regularly with these browsers can cause temporary and even permanent IP blocks due to these additional requests.
If you are using Maxthon or Brave as a browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, you should know that these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse.
The most common causes of this issue are: Software Manager exe file under the Task Mangers Processes tab com/chan. Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. any of the path tracing shaders out there After pressing the three keys.

no but u know what fuck the syndicate actually. they have yet to do anything with server-wide impact as a group, other then literally fucking set dream free. thats fucking it. you can call it a book club all u fucking want but at the end of the day book clubs dont violently break ppl out of jail. theyre a group pretending they dont think any one person should hold power over another while they set loose someone they fucking KNOW to be violent, malicious, and powerful. Niki was fucking there during the disc confrontation, she saw the attachment vault- did she actually find out techno and phil were gonna let this guy out of jail and go, okay sounds fair. like. I didnt watch her pov so take what i say with a grain of salt, but the way i see it there are two possibilities: - she found out they were going to do this and didnt say anything, OR
-she fucking told them. she fucking told them about the vault, about the implications and consequences of their actions, and all three of them did the whole fucking thing anyway because WHO GIVES A SHIT IF THE MOST DANGEROUS GODDAMN PERSON ON THE SERVER IS RUNNING FREE IF CTECHNO'S FAVOR IS FUCKING FULFILLED.
so let's discuss each possibility, yeah?
lets say she didn't say anything. Why not? no genuinely why not i dont know i didnt watch her pov-- like. was she afraid of losing her place with them? because in the fucking syndicate rules it states that no one should be doing anything they don't want to-- altho, thats a whole other fucking issue
so now lets say she told them and all three did it anyway? i think my issues with the option are pretty fucking clear: it means all three of them knew exactly what they were doing and it didnt change anything, so now's the time to bring up techno's favor.
he's owed dream, iirc, since dream helped him out with the butcher's army. He has offered dream this favor several times, to the detriment of others (namely ctommy) (i could be wrong but it looks to me like he fucking hates ctommy between the comment about lmanberg losing nothing by exiling him, the fact that he knowingly used ctommy and lied to him to get him to do things he KNEW ctommy didnt agree with, and then when ctommy was like. wait this doesnt align with my moral values that ive clearly stated from the start. he acts betrayed, that one time he offered to hand tommy over to dream during bedrock bros arc, and, well, breaking someone he KNEW had royally fucked ctommy up out of jail.). So, what about that favor? i want to make the following points:
Dream helped Technoblade of his own will and volition- techno never Asked Him for help. therefore said help was given and not loaned and if ctechno wasnt a fucking pussy and like. gave a shit about the wellbeing literally anyone outside his little exclusive club. he could make a damn good argument that he never owed cdream shit.
cphil has no fucking right to act like ctommy still needs to learn to value Things over People and then turn right around and value Someone Else's Debatable Favor over The Well-being Of Most Of The Server. yes im still mad about this.
regardless of whether or not the favor was legit, what would cdream have fucking done if ctechno just didnt pay it back. he was in fucking prison. he Needed ctechno to get him Out. like. tf would he have done? rotted in jail like he deserved?
in conclusion, i love cniki and cranboo, and i acknowledge my preexisting bias again ctechno and cphil, but the syndicate as an organization is fucking terrible and i hate it so so much

needing the au to drop wherein i can commit to writing a historical au,, because since i first watched the db cooper job my mind went straight to OT3! OT3! OT3! (unlike with the van gogh job, since i aint playing with that fucking lieutenant)
one day maybe one dayyyyy i will sit down and i will write the ot3 into that episode's story. so, it'll be the backgrounds for the characters in the flashback (so, stephanie ritter, steve reynolds, and reggie wilkins), but with the necessary personality adjustments (parker, eliot, and hardison respectively). basically, vintage ot3 with some hot as hell aesthetics and secrets and avoiding as much as possible producing copraganda.
so. my thoughts. what i see happening. and this got super long so im throwing this under a cut. and for ease i will call them by their modern day canon names except when making a point.
first, general thoughts about the characters.
and so: steve to eliot. nothing much here on the surface. eliot still volunteers, too much an indoctrinated white man to have been forcibly drafted. so its still one man gone to war. one man come back. eliot would had been noticed early in training for his ability to pick shit up, and they teased at maybe sending him to a special unit. maybe they do, or maybe they don't because they just need to funnel fuckers to the jungle. the vietnam invasion was a terrorist imperialist venture and there's no romanticizing from me about anything done being at all valorous or special or brother-in-arms'y. and eliot commits war crimes under the american stars and stripes instead of just to keep moreau's champaign running. but also maybe moreau is eliot's superior. he certainly would have been rewarded for this ruthlessness. (eliot of course strove to impress moreau because there aint an eliot spencer who wasn't that man's dog at some point, i!!!! dont make the rules). eliot's friend died and eliot's gone off to carry out his wishes and moreau lets him because he Knows eliot is gonna come back. whether its to come back to the same squad, or follow him into deeper spy shit for the military, or to fuck off and go private. then eliot meets parker.
now. stephanie to parker. beth plays normal so well im mad at her, but there's something edgy and strategic about stephanie that i think parker can grab onto. i feel that maybe she was kind of a thief still, but there's more realism to this world so archie wasnt a super secret spy with lasers to practice with, but just a guy with sticky fingers whos a little bored and wants a protege. parker is good really good at what she does, and not having to deal with lasers makes me easy. but she's into scams that are less grifts and more Catch Me If You Can slight of hands. she's always looking for easy money (she was into lifting cars at one point! literally she follows where the crime is). she's doing something in an airport and someone tries to recruit her as a flight attendant because she's got the Look. and yall, flight attendants? that shit was like being a model and an astronaut and a time traveler back then. and according to a teacher i had, who once worked as in the f.a. union, those ladies back in the day were rad and queer and free spirited and runnnnning shit. i think, yes, it's a Job which i think we might resist placing parker into. but! of the jobs, at the time, i really see her rocking it during the time period. (also come on, the opportunities to swindle distracted people of their shit would be endless. they would just think they dropped their stuff in the airport! not that it was stolen.)
finally, reggie to alec. i think hardison will be the hardest to translate. even tho i admittedly listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, i dont know much about fbi life and also definitely don't know about it historically. part of me desperately wants to put him somewhere else even if it does have to stay within the fbi. i might cheat and make him like a Q(uartermaster) to 007/00s like in james bond, and he's like UGH this is horrible god i hate working for the fbi but they will give me funding so...... anyway, here's this totally cool [radio term]. that said, if hardison is stuck in the fbi, why he ends up there is that he is a fucking savant when it comes to research and the man can put together a presentation like no one else. that white man gets all the credit for profiling but it was hardison who goddamn was the google of the microfilm days. reggie felt super square but that might be because he had to deal with mcsweeties db cooper shit day in and day out for years. hardison is more himself. and definitely still a nerd. alec would be into dime fantasy novels and comics and ham radios and oh god he also would be into star trek like the original star trek as it came out and he would be into the zines yes! yessss. omg. also he plays a mean arcade cabinet. but he's mostly well adjusted but lonely. his colleagues dont appreciate him because fbi esp during that time were fucking wilding out and racist as hell aaaaaand im sorry im srry im trying so hard to have fbi hardison make sense but also! acab. ANYWAY.
second, the relationship
i think it would be fun to play with what it means to have parker/eliot start off first and bring in hardison afterwards. (if white collar is your thing, it would be like this canon divergent ot3 fic wherein peter burke is the last to join in.) i feel they would be Super Intense esp since they are carrying this big ass secret. kind of broken and dysfunctional and there's the passion and the commitment, but i think there's also a tenderness that's super hard for them to achieve? and i think there's a way that hardison plays such an important part in who they are and how they are. like, sure i think parker/eliot would have joy but they won't have levity. they would have compassion but they won't have gentleness.
eliot meets hardison after being recruited by nate. i think they get close because while nate and eliot have an interesting and compelling mentorship/friendship, nate is still eliots superior; sometimes its nice to complain about your boss, as hardison will say to eliot to try to make friends. i think hardison and eliot would become legit friends and not just work buddies because they are just not cut out of the same cloth as the rest of their colleagues. they grab beers after work. after hard days, hardison cajoles eliot into going to the arcade. they are friends. real real truly deep best friends, in a way hardison didn't think he could have with a fed and eliot didnt think he would have after his friend died. but also? they are like "buds" who are buds who are desperately tryna to cross any lines because there's a.... tension? an UST between them they dont know what to do with.
parker meets eliot by way of a "lets have my friend for dinner, he's a blast." and immediately immediately hardison is like... wow this woman is beautiful but like, really attracted to her personality. and parker things hardison is kinda dorky but cute dorkie? anyway, they have a puppy love situation growing. and it keeps growing until bam. eliot and parker are like. are we into alec???? fuck we are aren't we.
i think stephanie and steve would never tell reggie (even if somehow they were to be a thing). but parker and eliot? hell yeah they tell hardison. eventually. after a while. sooner than maybe they should. the tension if they should say something is one of the things that build up as UST between them for so long; parker and eliot know they are carrying this huge thing. two huge things. eliot being db cooper and also their massive crush on him.
if i could control myself to stick to a pwp, it would be another christmas. maybe the christmas nine (more?) years down the road. the damn snow grounded hardison's flight back to his nana's, and parker and eliot hear this and invite him over. the egg nog gets flowing and parker eventually is like,, fuck this. and comes onto hardison. and hardison would be like wow wow what but... idk, free love and swinging were In The Thoughts And Minds Of The People. he still checks in with eliot who is like. her body, man; i aint gonna tell her what to do. and for a sec hardison is like, man is this a cuck situation? i guess i can be for it but also...... aint mad if i aint alone. and eliot is so grateful and idk. i just want them all to be happy and having fun and no one to be left out. and yeah i am kinda brushing over a lot of the racial politics which, in a more developed fic rather than a pwp, would definitely need to be brought in; but idk that needs to just be in the bedrock of whatever plot is going into this.
it takes a lot of maneuvering of their lives but they make it work and eventually hardison is a keeper of eliot's secret too.
(apart from the historical aspect, another reason i probably won't actually write this is because i know myself. i would want to do worldbuilding. i would follow eliot and alec to their jobs, but i wouldnt want to write outright copaganda. the grit/realism i would be comfortable with would take a level of research i dont think i can commit to. but if someone wants to take this up or if you figure out a way around this issue, pls do i wont be mad)

If there was to be a season 3 of mcsm, what do you think the plot would be?
so this could go one of two ways for me. long post ahead.
the way i kind of imagine i want it to go now would actually contain a different cast of characters. not next-gens, not people related to the new or old order or any supporting characters or antagonists. a completely fresh slate to build onto. id imagine because s2 deviated so far from the new order that it’d be best to keep it to, possibly, a set of three instead of turning into a band of 50 million like it tends to for both seasons.
i think you should still get a choice to customize your appearance similar to jesse, but instead of jesse we could have a character with another neutral name not similar to any we have already (so not named alex, sam, etc. bc they sound similar to axel, sammy, etc.). i also would like it to be something that would get u a line similar to torquedawgs in s1e6 as awful as it was. perhaps charlie? and i think the other two should play on whatever charlie’s strength is as well. i dont particularly think we should go another warrior/griefer/redstoner route.
anyways, a plot for an entire season NOT trying to base it off of existing characters or plots is a little difficult. would the main town still be beacontown or would we feature an entirely new area? thats something id have to flesh out on my own, so definitely my biggest need is to just have a fresh slate of characters with new personalities.
idea #2 is under the cut bc its MASSIVE.
my original idea last year when i made a post like this (the original post was deleted so i cant grab it but) was to slightly deviate from the format and structure of the first two seasons in favor of something that would still have to come to a certain conclusion but also seem more like a ‘choose your own adventure’ plot.
it was going to be a scenario where you could choose between the 3 admins (xara, fred and romeo) and view their backstories from their points of view at different points that could eventually culminate into the big fight that led them all to separate completely.  each of them would also have 3 episodes each, which would total to six and make sense with the fact that if you count s1e5 as a dlc and not as an opener, then it could continue the trend of each season picking up an extra episode to add onto the count (s1: 4 eps, s2: 5 eps, s3: 6 eps). each of the episodes as well, since each character gets 3 from their own povs, would be labeled a bit different as well. for instance the first episode of xara’s route would be s3xe1 for xara episode and so on. they would include enough ‘your story in changing’ to help establish a certain arc for each character while also keeping them true to their personalities and keep the events of season 2 accurate. it would also function similar to s2 where you can build your experience using your s2 save or yknow. completely fudge it. so of course like s2 contains s1 spoilers, s3 is THE DEFINITION of a spoiler season. i equate it to playing zero escape. each game in itself is the definition of ‘if you play this youll spoil a whole other game’.
xara’s episodes would have gone in this order xe1: the fight with romeo and watching fred die, her time in the sunshine institute, and finally an episode that actually hinges on your choice to give xara her bed or not. the final episode would either end with her final moments running into beacontown and being killed, or her staying in the underneath and dealing with themes of loss and depression kind of how s2′s major theme was that people can change and youll always have your friends even if they arent with you physically. my major ‘choice’ for this episode set was to be if you forgave romeo or not but it woud rly only work if you gave xara her bed in s2 to stop her from charging beacontown
freds episodes follow a more ‘linear path’. fe1 was to be a sort of flashback-type episode similar to xe1, except it would be played out as if it wasnt a flashback and that was something that was happening in quote unquote real time. it starts off with the three just living their normal life and near the end of the episode its obvious theres something wrong with romeo, episode 2 involves more escalations and fights and episode 3 starts with fred writing his journal and creating the gauntlet and ends  with him getting killed. like i said this would probably be the one with the least ‘your story is changing’ considering fred is already established as a dead character by the time s2 even beings
romeos episodes are like this: episode 1 is backstory on how they became admins which i wont totally push my headcanons but they totally came across something related to herobrine that gave them their powers. the episode continues with the three helping people and being nice, but it ends kind of abruptly similar to how s2′s episodes tend to end. episode 2 is similar to fe3, except re2 ends with romeo killing friend, banishing xara and bedrocking the underneath, ultimately ending with the first shot of him creating the overworld. episode 3 is post-overworld creation with him trying to find a friend and champion, we see the witherstorm from an outside perspective and it ends with romeo watching jesse from afar at the beacon ceremony at the end of s1e4.

Cul de sac
I'm notably deficient in many areas but in particular - and relevant to here - I am deficient in many areas of writing.
Can bang out a sentence or two, of course, but that's easy. Anyone can do that. Anyone should do that!
But writing, proper writing, goes beyond that. A proper piece of writing is not just a dollop of artfully wrought words. It's a dollop of artfully wrought words teased out and arranged so that the best words are in the right place, so that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Structure, see? Words arranged in such a way as you can draw a line from one end to the other, follow it, see clearly how it rises and falls without it being overly obvious and which, at the end, has taken you somewhere the author meant you to go via a route you might even have picked up more than they expected on.
I can't do this. I cannot do the line.
Many reasons for this, it could take many more words to explore those and who cares in the first place?
The problem is, as it always is, me. And on many levels.
Conception, perhaps? Or perception, rather.
I am aware that a proper story follows a line, but I generally dont enjoy them as such. I see a sequence of discrete events and enjoy those - the line is incidental and relevant only as far as it effects the events. Beyond that it doesn't really concern me.
So that's where I'm coming from.
Fine for short things, fine for very short things, but the instant there's the requirement for weight or length I go to pieces.
A plot? You should be so lucky.
Character development? Chance be a fine thing!
These are rich and valuable things, bedrock concepts! These are the rich meat that people expect!
And they are, for the most part, beyond me.
Now, I grouse about this a lot so you'd think maybe I was casting around for solutions. Planning techniques, say, or an effective method of outlining the better to coral and control my wayward tendencies.
But no, no, nothing like that.
Because techniques require a certain level of willpower and determination to execute. Stands to reason, yes? It's harder to do something than to do nothing and to do something one must be motivated and - even for a smidgen - confident.
Ah, the key.
Creation is easy, see. Anyone can do it. It's what comes after that that's the trick.
It requires a certain power of self to see through the follow up. The refinement, the trimming, the iteration - all while holding onto the belief that any of it is worthwhile to start with, and that the finished product will have a value not only to you but to others.
Without this nothing else can follow. Why would it? Where would be the point?
To conclude, no amount of technique can overcome my deficient character, being as how I am a shiftless, insecure coward. Not so much falling at the first hurdle as starting the race face-down on the floor.
And of course, a habit of writing off all failures as final and entirely my fault while using this as an excuse to shrug off any need to improve is also a problem.
But that should be obvious.

There is Solitude, as in City Solitude and Your surrounded by millions but Your not in communication or touch and most realize this solitude all to well and cannot stand to not break free for small forays.
Then there is Extreme Solitude, Other side of the Moon type of Solitude in which You could MONTHS and see no one, most would fall to the ground weeping after a couple days.
Im on day 92, alone and bereft of company in a bastion of seclusion. 300 miles in the middle of a desert of Ice. Constant howling winds and subzero temperatures make walks....exhausting.
Mind You, Im not complaining. Im a sociopath and I am bonkers in a city. The very picture of road rage, but out here where there is no tv, no radio just Nature on her worst period day for months on end and Im grateful the frontier still exists at all...
When I tested for this job, it was somewhere in the mojave, not real desolate just ridiculously hot. We all had assigned duties and I was blasé about it all, while most of the others started showing signs of stress after a day or two.
After 9 days there 3 of us left, after 17 days it was 2. On the 19th day, the last one walked out.
I was the last one standing and showed no signs at all. I made it another 2 weeks until they finally called it quits. I under went a whole battery of tests before I was asked the hows and whys of how I made it.
The others had to read the news and see their shows, write letters to family, and so on. I did not.
The others have husbands and wives. I do not.
The others have jobs around the multitudes, I do not. I do my job, I read my books, write my thoughts in journals. Always have. I sleep good and dream little. My thought process is on the now until I am free to think otherwise.
The others were the exact opposite. Stopping work to chat or ask a question. I did not. I carry my work with me. I keep notes, algorithms and equations, In case I need them. Thus, I do not need to ask.
I was not derised or made fun of, point in fact I was ignored and left to do my thing. I was grateful for this but I never ignored others If I was called upon. I was succinct and matter of fact never rude.
When I had passed the final phases of the testing and given my assignment to the frontiers. I was neither happy nor elated. It simply was and I moved forward.
Now, At day 92. I find myself truly alone on this world. I am not quite sure if there is anyone left, the comms are quiet. I send yet receive no answers. I am neither dishearetened nor scared. I have supplies for a full 3 years, as long as there are no equipment failures that require major overhaul.
My question to myself is....what if. I find myself asking how do I get back to the world and what if the world is.....gone. What if there was a nuclear war or zombie outbreak? What if some cosmic anomaly took out humanity but left me behind on this chunk of frozen land?
I dont lose sleep over this. I make educated hypotheses and started a new journal positing these, followed my data that I gather, albiet....what little there is. I still have satellite telemetry, thus something is still online and running properly. Which highly suggests the cosmic anomaly theory is least probable.
I work my day, do my rounds and eat my spartan vegetarian fare. I get 45 minutes if cardio a day running the treadmill while reciting the known ans currently used alphabets then the known dead and unused alphabets. 3 times then stop and take my Navy shower and go to bed. I sleep 4 hours, do another 6hr shift then take another 4hr nap. Every 10th day I work 12hrs straight followed by 12hrs off in which I read one entire book. I have some 3200 books of every genre and period to chose from on my tablet. And more stored in my laptop.
.............
It is now day 97. I still receive no comms nor emails. I have no internet, thus I cannot connect to google and check any news services. I have no cellphone. Never have.
I have checked all the current data and posit that a storm is moving through and should clear in 36 to 48 hours, at that time I will endeavour to make the 13 mile trek to the port to make an assessment of possible connection to a satellite link through that office. My current position inland does not allow for this.
.................
Day 100.
I have made the 13 mile trek over 2 days to the port. I did not portend any thing until this juncture, While I made a satellite link, I cannot reach a viable connection to the mainland. I honestly had not expected there to be a connection thus I am not disheartened.
What I had not expected was what I saw through the windows looking out to sea.
I saw nothing. That is no sea. No ice. It is gone.
For as far as I can see, the port is empty. Bedrock canyon for miles to the horizon line.
I take several pictures from inside then climb the surveilance and comms tower to the top and take 36 more pictures for a full 360 degree view.
My only conclusion is the world has ended and I am the alone.

I enjoy writing...
Waking up Surique looked around for Yong noticing him gone already to start his daily duties, he got up and started to ready himself for training. While taking a bath in the river by at laid next to where he and Yong resided with the waterfall splashing over him, he began to think to himself.
"I don't deserve a love like Yong gives me, what did i do to have someone like that?"
"I shouldnt be here, maybe it would be easier for him if I just left..."
See he had a long going issue of putting up walls when people get to close and then the walls would start rising up. Creating thoughts of doubt and pushing him to run away. This would be a trial for himself and Yong. Can he overcome them this time or would he never see Yong again.
Getting out his bath and drying off he went back into the house without following his training regime. Didnt grab anything just in the wall across from their bed slammed a single word into the wall for Yong to see.
Sorry.
Immediately leaving afterwards he headed for the Earth capital to see his old friend, Beifong. Upon reaching the grand earth capital city the guard stopped him at the gate asking his business within the city, as he had a bad reputation for being at the center of trouble inside the city.
"What do you want within the city walls Surique?" Asked the guard forcefully.
Eyeing him up and down to upset him like always, he replied "I have personal business to tend to Jax, now move or ill move you because we both know that i have don't have patience."
"Are you threatening me you litt...." Was all jax could muster before he was greeted with a extremely hard hammer into his left side ribcage. Keeling over coughing blood Surique bent over and smiled.
"Next time I tell you to move just do it boy or practice your fighting to actually pose a challenge because you claim to be of the Lemurs of fire valley. Youre a disgrace." Walking past him he yelled back to him, "You would do well to remember I dont make threats, I make promises."
Jax punched the ground causing a small hole and fire wrapping around his fist, *Someday ill beat that Badger..
* He thought to himself wiped his blood and stood back at position. Onward to his old friend and mentor High Chief Counsellor Beifong.
Travelling through the streets he once ran on as a criminal when he was younger, Surique took the underground shortcut straight to the Council chambers to check if Beifong was there. Coming up from the underground he moved towards the high built doors and pushed them open. Proceeding to the middle of the wide open chambers he looked up to only see one member of the council atop the throne like seats. Sari Beifong. A well seasoned counsellor, heavily decorated general for her acts during the 4th great war and a Bear of the Earth. Looking up from what she was going over for the next counsel meeting, she smiled at Surique.
"What can i do for you, Surique?" She asked politely but not without a touch of caution in her voice.
Smiling at this he replied, "I'm here to find the whereabouts of Beifong. I need to speak with him about a personal issue and this is the last place I feel his presence being within my earth sense." Before continuing he locked eyes with her and declared, "I just want to know where and no one will be getting in my way today. Do you know of his whereabouts Sari?"
Assessing the situation and his behavior being out of the ordinary for him, she immediatley sealed the council doors preparing for a conflict just in case. Afterwards replying, "I do know where he is currently, but i have to inquire as to what it is you wish to speak with my husband about, before giving you any information."
Without hesitation Surique pulled up Valun, gripped the handle and threw it at Sari yelling, "JUST TELL ME WHERE HE IS WOMAN!!".
An immediate response was given as the earthen bracelet of extremely high density was spread around her hand like a glove she caught Valun and hurled the legendary hammer back him simply stating, "Rethink your choice young Badger, as this course of action will not end well for you."
Surique stopped for a moment and assessed the situation. He wasnt himself, he only wanted to talk with Beifong. He trusted him. He could take the reasonable route and tell her but he didnt trust her. Which made it difficult for him to choose that path. The more he thought about it, the more upset he became. Winning him over, he took his battle stance and declared, "Youre right it wont end well for me. Ill have more blood on my hands. Now, tell me where he is or i go through you too and force it out of you."
Sari got kept a calm composure but she was taken back by the ferocious look in Suriques eyes and then she smiled. Jumping down from the thrones, landing gracefully on the chamber floor she took her stance and pulled her weapons. Two flawlessly crafted bedrock warhammers. Each with her crest engraved into them. The fight had begun.
Sari made the first move swing one hammer into the ground spraying sharp shards to Surique, while simultaneously slamming the other into the ground to releasing a massive boulder up into the air and then swinging three sixty to slam her hammers into the boulder to send it flying at an extreme speed towards him. Defending himself Surique brought up a wall of high density earth that the shards stuck into and with great effort rearing back his hammer with both hands to slam it into the massive boulder. While he shattered the boulder the impact pushed the handle hard of Valun harshly into his right wrist causing his wrist to break and Surique to yell in pain.
"Over already great Badger of the High Mountain?!" Sari asked mockingly.
Surique calmed his breathing and stated, "Not in the slightest. The first one is free."
Encasing the break in his wrist with stone he pressurised it setting the break and grunting loudly. He looked at her smiling wildly, "This is gonna be fun!" He declared.
Sari took a small step back and before she could ready herself, he slammed his fist into the wall with great force causing the shards to shoot out at a tremendous speed. Sari barely got the dome of earth around her in time but still one shard made it through piercing her left shoulder. Blood splattered the front side of dome and she screamed in pain. The dome began to tremble, she looked up and then the earth above burst open revealing a wild eyed badger. Regaining herself she shifted the earth beneath her to move out of the way of the hammer being swung through the open wound of the dome barely getting out in time. Furious and genuinely worried for Surique as well as her own safety, she slammed her feet into the ground forcing a pillar to erupt and slam into Suriques chest rising upwards with the pillar till it pinned him to roof of the chamber. Placing his hands on both sides of the pillar he took a deep breath and squeezed causing the part of the pillar pinning to shatter. Landing on the ground he looked up and Sari stared back at him. He put his weapon down and charged her with fists clenched. Respectfully she dropped her weapons, ripped out the shard in her shoulder and charged back at him. Clashing in the middle of the chamber blows were traded and the earth beneath them erupted with the force of their resolves.
This went on for a little while before Surique had enough. Sari knew her energy was dimishing as she had been out of conflict for quite sometime, but she relished in the feeling of the fight. Feeling her start to slow down with her blows Surique saw the opening and shifted the earth beneath him to position himself. Ducking a left hook, he ran his fist through the ground compressing stone on his fist and came up to slam his fist directly into her abdomen causing her to keel over and cough up blood. Raising her hand as a sign of loss and surrender, he backed off.
Panting and wiping the blood away from his mouth he said, "You've lost and i accept your surrender. Now tell me where Beifong is."
Looking up at the only loss she has encountered on a battlefield, she smiled through the blood and declared, "You will not see my husband."
Roaring with anger he yelled, "SO BE IT!"
"I'm outta here, ill find him on my own." He sighed, dropping some medicine on the floor in front of her and then took his leave.
Upon his way outta the gates before he got too far, he geard a familar voice call out, "I know where Beifong is Two. Come with me let's talk."
Turning around Helix was walking towards him and he stated back at him, "Better be telling the truth or ill beat your ass too."
Walking through the deep forest lush towards the crater where Helixes base of operations resided, a conversation started.
" Now kid we go way back, i practically took care of you and I know how you get but youre going about this wrong way. Some advi...."
Cutting him off and stating very clearly, " Listen Helix, either tell me where he is or like I stated I will gladly beat you down right here and force it out of you."
A look of determination and the will of earth stone cold locked in his eyes, Helix knew that this was gonna get physical. Hoping to de-escalate the situation, he replied calmly, " Surique, you really dont want to do this, ill tell you, i just want to talk with you first. Maybe i can help kid."
"I tried." is all Surique said in return and sank Helix down to his neck in the earth beneath him, condensing the dirt to hold him in place tightly.
With a smile and a bellowing laugh Helix roared, "Wrong choice kid!" Breaking free from the earth with ease and a explosion of dirt Helix jumped backwards landing forcefully onto the forest floor. Looking up he didnt see Surique and smiled. Clenching his fists tightly he slammed the ground sending an explosive shockwave through the earth around him forcing the ground to bellow and blast upwards. A shout came from the west side of him, "Motherfucker!!" Moving his right foot quickly towards the shout and the bellowed earth rapidly wrapped tightly around Surique.
Laughing loudly, "Cmon kiddo, i taught you better than that juvienile shit. Show me some resolve."
Struggling, Surique knew that unlike Sari, Helix would hold nothing back because of their history and that made him realize that instead of using anger he needed to calm himself. Closing his eyes, Surique took a deep breath tasting the earth on his tounge and exhaled feeling a sense of life wash over him. Opening his now focused eyes he looked directly into Helixes eyes and smiled.
"Shit." Helix said under his breath as Surique pulled the earth wrapped around him tighter and then burst from sending Helix stumbling from the immense shockwave. Capitalizing on his stumble Surique slammed his his feet down as he landed and sent massives tremors forth ripping the deep rooted trees from their homes within the earth, as well as, causing the bull to land flat on his butt. Swiftly rising five pillars of stone around Helix, Surique spiraled them around the old bull removing any chance he had to retaliate. He kept a firm grip on the spiraled stone and stated to his old friend, "You lose, now tell me where he is."
Smiling at how much this once undisciplined, rowdy runt has grown and acclimated to the earth, he complied acknowledging his defeat.
"Beifong is currently seeking guidance from the earthen ancestors at his mountain."
After telling the spiral stones receded freeing Helix and Surique walked over to help him up. Shaking the dust off of him, Helix smiled at him, "No matter what has happened or will come to pass kid, im proud of how much youve grown. Ending a match with me that quickly takes alot of skill and precision."
"That's the only way i know to fight you. The longer the match, the harder it becomes. Always been one of your best qualities and thank you for the compliment." Surique said with a smile, and finished their conversation.
While leaving Surique looked back and waved at his old friend. Helix waving back thought to himself, im lucky he didnt kill me, he grown but still has a tendency to let emotion get the best of him. He'll do great, well back to business.
With that he shook his hair out one more time and took his leave back to the Crater of outlaws. Surique in the other direction running towards Beifongs mountain to find his teacher and talk with him.
It was nightfall by the time he reached the mountain and Surique thought to himself reaching the large opening his mentor had made when he raised this Mountain from the bowels of the earth, Just in case Yong has already learned where i am or headed to i need to keep him away until i figure this out. I need to feel like i deserve him and the love he gives. I need to be okay with myself and allow him in. With that he placed his hands on the Earth sending a resonating pulse to very brink of his seismic sense to let Darva know he needs the earth elementals help. Darva feeling the pulse sank into the earth and traveled to him. Rising up in front of Surique he looked down at him and leaned down to hear his request.
"Darva if anyone comes to this cave keep them out, including Yong. If beifong leaves let him go and if you get hurt in anyway from this request, come to me in the mountain. I will rebuild you." Surique told the towering gentle giant.
Grunting loudly meant he agreed to his friends request and sank back into the earth awaiting any intruders. Surique moved forward heading into the entrance and dissapearing further in. Coming into a lit up hollowed out core, adorned with statues of the elders from the earth kingdom, he saw Beifong kneeling in the center.
Sighing with relief, he smiled and called out, "Beifong!!"
Recognizing the voice of his oldest student, he stood turning around and put up a hand to greet Surique. "Hello Suri. I assume my wife told you where to find me?" He asked quizitivly.
Stopping abruptly, Surique rubbed the back of his head nervously and replied, " Not exactly Master Beifong. Sari is a very strong willed woman and protective. I fought her. She lost. Then i met Helix who wouldnt tell me where you were and him i fought... Well i subdued him, then i got the info where you were and now im here."
As he finished he looked up to see Beifong smiling but he look concerned. "You fought Sari, to get info of where I was. That woman is going to be the death of me one day." He chuckled a bit before continuing... "I trust you did not kill her as she can be very over the top with combat?" He finished asking with concern in his tone.
"She is a very formidable opponent, just out practice and i left her some medicine. No killing blows, just let her feel the presence of the earth. She will be just fine in a few days." he assured Beifong.
Kneeling back down Beifong motioned Surique forward to join him and Surique followed direction. Eyeing him to get a feel of what he was seeking, Beifong began, "What is it that you are in need of my friend?"
Surique looked down to collect his erratic thoughts, looking back up at Beifong with tears in his eyes he answered with voice trembling, " Beifong... I don't.. Feel like i deserve Yong and what he has given me. Ive always been the outcast, the badger that had to make his own path and.... What if I fuck this up?"
Moving closer Beifong wrapped him in a hug giving Surique some advice he lives by to this day, "My friend it always wiser to find out rather than to suppose. If you believe you will fail, you will. Let your walls down, give as much as you receive  and trust in the man you know you are. Never give up child."
Suriques eyes open wide and the realization of Beifongs advice set him free. Wrapping his arms around Beifong tightly, letting the tears flow he thanked him. Returning the embrace with full force beifong released Surique and stood to leave but not before providing a small bit of counsel upon the young badger, " Stay here for awhile and meditate on what ive told you. When you are ready, go to Yong. As he will be worried." Finishing his sentence he squeezed Suriques shoulder and took his leave.
Standing up Surique moved to the center of the ring within the mountain. A wave of earthen energy washed over him as he entered the center ring and made him feel a soothing calmness. Before he was able to kneel he heard a loud thud back at the entrance and only one thought came into mind, Yong.
He raced to entrance using him seismic sense to read the battle ahead. Darva was being taken apart but defending like he asked. By the time he reached the closed mountain entrance he placed his hand on the wall with tears in eyes he heard screaming on the other side of the wall, trying to talk to him. He felt Yong place his hand on the wall and yell "FINE YOU WIN! YOU ALWAYS WIN..." Afterwards punching the wall with force that Surique felt and with tears in eyes he said to himself, "I havent won this one my love. Im sorry."
With that he went back to the center to see what was left of Darva waiting in the center for him. After repairing him and bring him back to his full elemental glory, he apologised. "Im sorry Darva, i shouldnt have put this burden on you."
Darva looked down at his friend and leaned down torwards him. Nudging him in the chest and grunting, Surique smiled at the acceptance of his apology. With that Darva sank back into the ground and took his leave, having done his duties. Surique knelt back in the center and began his self search to acceptance.
A month had gone by and Surique finally arrived at home. Breathing in the fresh air deeply, he sighed with relief and a new sense of self. Using his seismic sense he noticed Yong was sleeping on their bed. Thinking to himself, "this is for shocking my foot to wake me up you silly wolf." Bringing up valun Surique slammed his hammer down sending a precision shockwave to bed shooting Yong up into the air and through the roof downwards to Surique. Startled and shook a storm began to form Yong caught himself in the air, ready to fight. Seizing the opportunity of the startle, Surique kicked back into the ground and lauched himself with a pillar into yong tackling him into the ground and greeting him, "Hey there, have you seen a weak little wolf they call legendary? Has a white tail?"
Tears coming up and shook from the entrance of one love, Yong wrapped his arms around him holding him close.
"Im not going anywhere silly wolf. Youre stuck with this old badger." He replied hugging him back.

The Fight for LGBT Equality in 2018 Will Be Fierce
Jay Michaelson: So, here we are at the end of a strange year for LGBTQ Americans. On the one hand, mainstream acceptance of gay people continues to spread; gays are now officially boring. On the other hand, trans people are being singled out for government persecution on the one hand and continued street violence on the other.
Meanwhile, as all three of us have written, the Trump-Pence administration is inflicting the "death of a thousand blows" against LGBTQ civil rights, severely limiting employment rights, marital rights, access to healthcare, access to safe facilities in schools, and so onwhile literally erasing LGBTQ people from government forms, proclamations, and observances.
For that reason, it's even harder than usual to look toward 2018 with any sense of certainty. What are we most hoping for in the year to come? And what do we fear?
Samantha Allen: I have written the word bathroom hundreds of times over the past two years of covering the various state-level attempts to restrict transgender peoples restroom use. I wish I never had to type it again; I didnt sign up to be a reporter to write about the human excretory system every week.
But in 2018, I am hoping to talk about bathrooms a lot less frequentlyand I have reason to believe that will be the case.
One of the most important victories for transgender people this year came in the form of something we avoided: a bathroom bill in Texas that would have effectively made birth certificates into tickets of entry for restrooms in public schools and government buildings. But that was scuttled at the last second by the business community, local law enforcement, and a sympathetic speaker of the House who said he [didnt] want the suicide of a single Texan on [his] hands.
Im confident that well see somebut fewerred-state legislatures really push for bathroom bills. Theyre political losers and money drainersand everyone in elected office knows that by now
I was in the state this summer when this thing almost got passed and I witnessed firsthand the gloriously outsized Texas rage against a bill that could have cost them billions (Tim wrote about the Texas bathroom battle at the time for the Daily Beast).
Between that and North Carolina being forced to repeal the most controversial aspects of HB 2 under pressure from the NCAA, Im confident that well see somebut fewerred-state legislatures really push for bathroom bills. Theyre political losers and money drainersand everyone in elected office knows that by now.
Tim Teeman: Id like to share your optimism, but Roy Moore supplies a harsh correctivefor me anyway. In the celebrations that followed his defeat at the hands of Doug Jones in the Alabama Senate race, some difficult questions were left hanging.
Moore was a candidate whose rampant homophobiahis actual desire to see discrimination enacted against millions of LGBT Americans, his desire to see prejudice and discrimination enshrined in lawwent mostly unchallenged and unquestioned. Only on the last day of the race did Jake Tapper of CNN ask his spokesman whether Moore believed homosexuality should be illegal (the answer: Probably).
This was a shameful and telling omission by the media. The depressing footnote to Moores loss is that extreme homophobia itself is not a disqualification for a political candidate in 2017. Active homophobia was seen as a valid mandate to hold by the modern Republican Party.
Moore was only too happy to hold it close even in defeat, as he showed by posting (on Facebook) Carson Jones, Doug Jones gay sons, post-election interview with The Advocate. It was a sly attempt to stir up anti-gay poison. Politicians like Moore are thankfully fewer and fewer in number, but homophobia and transphobia are still a major currency in this White Houseand that Trump and other of Moores high-profile Republican supporters dont see it as a disqualifying characteristic tells us something very sad and alarming indeed.
Since ordinary gays are now not so novel, Hollywood's search for novelty is causing them to explore stories of people of color, rural folks, genderqueer folks, and other people who aren't Will or Grace
Jay Michaelson: I am putting most of my hopes outside the machinery of the state. Hollywood told some beautiful queer stories in 2017; I hope this expands and continues in 2018. A decade ago, when I was a professional activist, we had it drilled into us that the number one factor in someone "evolving" on any particular LGBTQ issue was knowing someone who was L, G, B, T, or Q. And if they didn't have firsthand knowledge, media figures counted too.
So, while the Republican party caters to its Christian Right base, I hope that continued media visibility makes them pay for doing so. There's a nice irony too: since ordinary gays are now not so novel, Hollywood's search for novelty is causing them to explore stories of people of color, rural folks, genderqueer folks, and other people who aren't Will or Grace. That might not be for the best motive, but the consequences could be profound.
Tim Teeman: Then we have the 'wedding cake' case at SCOTUS, which you have written about Jay. That seems currently going in favor of the baker refusing to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. This isn't just about a wedding cake, of course, but providing a signal that discrimination based on "beliefs" is OK, which can be used against LGBT people in so many contexts.
Samantha Allen: Im afraid the Trump administrations attacks on the LGBT community will continue to be so persistent and so piecemeal that they will continue to get shuffled to the side. This past month, we were stunned when the Washington Post reported that the CDC had been discouraged from using the term transgender in preparing their annual budget, but if people had been paying closer attention to Trumps appointments in the Department of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies, this wouldnt have been a surprise.
We cant afford to pretend anymore like these are stunningly cruel attacks that come out of nowhere: leaders of anti-LGBT groups regularly walk the White House halls, they wield tremendous influence right now, and the administration is quietly giving them what they want.
Im worried that, with so many other scandals dominating the headlines, the systematic erosion of LGBT rights will continue to fly under the radar
Trumps tweets on transgender military service created a media shockwave, but that moment aside, the administrations attacks on LGBT people in 2017 have been considerably less flashy: amicus briefs filed to the Supreme Court, tinkering with executive orders, adjusting the Department of Justices approach to transgender students. All of these perniciously subtle attacks have taken place against a cultural backdrop of continuing bigotry and violence: In the last year, for example, at least 28 trans people have been killed, most of them transgender women of color.
Tim Teeman: I think one of the things the U.S. would do well to figure out (he said vainly) is the separation of Church and State. The Religious Right has such a grip on the levers of power here, in certain states and in certain administrations like President Trumps which is greatly relying on the bedrock of its support. LGBT people, activists and groups are facing a traumatic 2018, as the far right of the Republican support seeks to shore up support around Trump, and trans people especially are especially vulnerable in such an atmosphere.
Jay makes a good point: at a time when the Right seeks a ratcheting up of the LGBT culture war, LGBT people and their straight allies working in the culture at large should work to put a wide diversity of LGBT lives and characters into that culture, whether it be TV, film, literature, art, or whatever. Actual LGBT presence will be vital in 2018.
If this global backlash isn't stopped, queer people will be murdered, arrested, targeted, stigmatized, and forced to leave their countries (and then denied refugee status) in numbers we have never seen before
Samantha Allen: The death of a thousand blows of LGBT rights under Trump is only going to continue in 2018, and Im worried that, with so many other scandals dominating the headlines, the systematic erosion of LGBT rightsa phenomenon thats directly affecting at least 4 percent of the U.S. population and 7 percent of millennialswill continue to fly under the radar.
Thatd be like the Trump administration deciding one day that everyone in the state of Pennsylvania didnt deserve human rightsand it somehow not being front-page news every single day until it got fixed.
Jay Michaelson: My greatest fear for 2018 is on a somewhat macro-scale. The rise of nationalism, nativism, and right-wing populism around the world is terrifying. On one level, it's an understandable backlash against globalization, multiculturalism, and technology: people unable or unwilling to change are clinging to old identities and myths. But it's also profoundly dangerous, and queers are just one population endangered by it. It's not to be taken lightly.
Already we've seen the United States retreat from the whole concept of human rights, giving carte blanche to murderous anti-LGBTQ elements in Russia, Egypt, Chechnya, Indonesia, and elsewhere.
In 2018, the US will practically zero out its aid to vulnerable LGBT populations around the world. At the UN as elsewhere, America is now allied with Putin's Russia, in this case withdrawing protection from LGBT people and instead defending the oppression of us.
But this is just the beginning. If this global backlash isn't stopped, queer people will be murdered, arrested, targeted, stigmatized, and forced to leave their countries (and then denied refugee status) in numbers we have never seen before.
Figure out some way to help those who dont have as much, or who are especially politically and culturally vulnerable, and who could do with support. Give money, volunteer, whateverdo what you can
Tim Teeman: On that basis, LGBT people and their allies with any time, money, commitment and energy might think about involving themselves with activism and campaigning for organizations like The Trevor Project, HRC, Anti-Violence Project, National Center For Transgender Equality, GLSEN, PFLAG, OutRight Action International, and groups in their local area. If they don't want to do something overtly political, then maybe figure out a way to help those who dont have as much, or who are especially vulnerable, and who could do with supportwhether that be financial and pastoral.
If you need inspiration, look to Nathan Mathis who wasn't going to let Roy Moore winor lose at it turned outin Alabama without shaming him over his homophobia; and without remembering, in the most moving way possible, his dead lesbian daughter, Patti Sue.
Listen to, and be inspired by, the stirring stories of those from times when things were not just bleak but political progress and cultural evolution seemed alien and utterly distant. Eric Marcus has distilled, and continues to distill, amazing interviews with the likes of Sylvia Rivera and Frank Kameny, conducted for his landmark book Making Gay History: The Half-Century Fight For Lesbian and Gay Equal Rights, into a must-listen podcast.
