sorry ahead of time if this is a weird Q, i've been a follower for some time! i went to VCUarts but i dropped out when covid hit and for personal reasons i'm probably not going to go back even though i'd really like to, so i've been piecing together my own art education. were there any subjects/projects you were exposed to in the program that changed the way you approach art? one of the last classes i was able to take was a typography class and it opened my eyes to a design world i hadn't considered. you have such strong graphic design skills and it'd be really cool to hear what helped you develop!

Hey, thank you! and not at all - i totally get that, and i love talking about design lol. i rly enjoyed the gdes program but i kinda wish i could take it again now, i dont think i appreciated it as much as i could have when i was there 😭. as is life ig. i think def the biggest thing that i learned was about using typography and trying to develop an eye for it. im bad at the math parts of it but usually i can eyeball the negative space well enough. basically getting used to considering typography as graphic parts of a composition as opposed to just placing text on top of a graphic.

i think whats honestly most helpfully informed my own design work is honestly just trying to look at and collect as much "cool stuff" as possible. i follow a lot of random design instagram accounts (tbh u can just look thru the graphic design tags on insta and pinterest) even if i dont necessarily respect the artist (LMAO) even if they just do one thing rly interesting. also following some more experimental and a lot of art book/publication/zine accounts because theyre def gonna have some of the cooler graphic design work for print format especially.

one thing about insta (and tiktok tbh) thats both annoying and helpful is that with all the promoted posts you end up seeing a lot of whats currently "trending" for design, if ur following enough design accounts. like the truck sticker i just did on twitter is actually using an effect i learned from an insta reel that popped up on my feed lol.

one assignment from a class i rly appreciated was doing "make-a-days" where you basically made an image every day. didnt matter the quality or what it was but you just had to make something. it was good for experimenting and trying new things. also just picking a theme and making fake graphics/posters for my friends comics or something i liked.

i would also say that my personal biggest strength is that im just rly good at the programs, so i can ideate really quickly and its easier to figure out how to get a certain effect i want, and specifically how to copy a style I saw from something cool i saw somewhere :) outside my more bolder lines and compositional style (i dont have enough patience for rendering 99% of the time) i have a pretty flexible style because i usually have an end product or look in mind. also im usually inspired by other artists i follow online a lot too. but honestly just take the time to rly get used to ur program of choice and what effects settings and filters it has.

biggest advice is collect as many cool images as you can find and figure out what you like across them and how you can copy it for whatever ur making.

I thrive in chaos and am pretty hyper most of the time. But I'm also really scatterbrained. That, and my various mental health issues like depression and BPD but I don't let it stop me from being happy and cool :)

I used to struggle a lot with mental health but have found a nice balance in life and think positively and optimistically a lot of the time.

its a good thing you thrive in chaos because that man has been without guidance since like age 14 and has no structure in his life, no proper sleep schedule or good eating habits either. obv. youre not gonna be his mother, youre just going to have to figure out something that works for both of you together!!

Saeran would be diagnosed with some stuff after getting out of mint eye too, and having you around, whos been through the system and sorta knows how it works would be a big reassurance. youd be able to support Saeyoung so well and he you, when you over extend yourself.

your optimism would be such a bright thing for Saeyoung. Saeyoung also tries his best to be optimistic and he also knows how sometimes youre being too optimistic to hide that youre struggling. Hed be able to recognize when your smile is a bit strained and reassure you that its okay to not always be happy and optimistic. no one is , and he and your friends wont tire of you for reaching out for help.

sci-fi is probably Saeyoungs favourite genre! hed never tire of you talking about the universe youve created and the stories within that universe. Bee and puppycat would be right up his alley haha.

Bloodborne/Middle Earth crossover thing (long-ish post just about brainstorming)

I'm not the only one who thinks bloodborne would make a good crossover with The Hobbit or Lord of the Ring, am I? I don't see much of it around. So, I've had an idea in my head for a good year or so about the Hunter being isekai'd into the setting of Middle Earth. Kinda struggling to figure out after what event this will happen. Either after the Sunrise ending (wakes up in M.E. instead of Yharnam) or the Refuse Gehrman ending, but something happens and They're disconnected or something. [it's always turning in my head so i figured I'd share it]

I did think of using the New Beginnings ending, but at the same time that I was brainstorming this I was also making up a Bloodborne/Batman crossover that I want to use that ending for. (will post some sketches soon probably of both ideas)

I like the idea of the Hunter still being influenced or scarred (more than just physically), so maybe a more monster-influenced appearance. BUT! Im still kinda stuck on how much Beast and how much insight/cosmic influence affects the Hunter. Also not sure how much stuff they bring with them from one land to another.

Media: In my story/idea. I like the thought of it being a comic, but small one-shots also sounds good to capture some things I'm not sure how to convey in image form. Oh! or stories with pictures added! (i like it when people do that)

Character Story and Development: The Hunter is a woman and I want the story to take place in The Hobbit. this I'm sure of. I want it to be a story of recovery. The Themes that I remember from listening to the Hobbit again are that people should spend more time with family and cherishing the smaller things in life rather than riches, glory, and war. [it's been a good while since I've read or analyzed The Hobbit or Tolkien's other works for their Lore, though this is really just a passion project to practice my story developing skills every now and then]. So, The Hunter finds herself (I'm thinking) i the outskirts of Lake Town and is taken in and is taught how to live again. This happens several years before the actual events of The Hobbit take place that way the Company dont have to deal with a half-feral woman that is moments away from killing everything around her at all times. I'm still not sure if she should be able to revive or not via eldritch power, eating monsters, or leftover access to blood vials or something (I stocked up so many in my own playthroughs). She'd definitely use her learned skills to get a job.

I like the Idea of a Language barrier! I've got it in my head that The Hunter is a Spaniard (my family's language is Spanish but we are not Spaniards. I keep getting results that are a mix of latin and mexican spanish, and Spaniard Spanish. I am aware there is a difference like how Australian, British, and American English are all the same language, but still different in how some words are used and overall differences in culture. I may be overthinking though) She doesn't speak M.E. Common at first and I kinda don't want her to. I would like to experiment with the challenge.

The Hunter will not remember her past before The Night, but perhaps some flashes here and there along with some habits that pop up every now and then. There is room for more angst in this!

struggling very very much with feeling like my art looks developed and appropriate skill-wise for someone my age. every time i feel like i am making progress and feel a little bit like i like what im making, i take four steps backwards and everything feels hopeless. i know this is the natural reality of being an artist, to feel this way, and to feel this way means that i am actually improving, but god what i wouldnt give to feel a little reprieve

what i really like about daiya is the consistency, like a repetitive sequence but so subtle you have to like squint to make sense of it

like say, there's the three new first years that made to first string

the ever small yui, wolf-boy okumura, and then there's yuuki

the similarity to last year's first years are so obvious it's hilarious

yuuki is a genius batter like haruichi, yui and okumura are both catchers while sawamura and furuya are both pitchers, like come on now there's no way that ain't on purpose

yui is literally sawamura's counterpart, funny right?

both have high expectations of themselves

always wanting to improve, forever growing

while sawamura lacks experience, yui lacks physical

sawamura absorbs everything like sponge, while yui proves height is not the only thing you need in baseball w his skills

sawamura's fixated on miyuki's approval, yui's fixated on furuya's approval

theyre literally sunshine children

both work so hard, but very little recognize it

it took almost a year for sawamura's teammates to acknowledge him, yui tries so hard to play the position he wants to play but he's been tossed around everywhere without being able to really prove himself]

then there's okumura that basically is furuya

both had bad experience w their past baseball team

furuya came to seidou for miyuki, okumura came for sawamura (and maybe furuya too?)

they're both so competitive lolol

both also have trouble eating

they both had shoujo moment with the ppl they chasing LMAO, like come on when miyuki caught furuya's for the first time then there's okumura who warmed up sawamura for the first time

i fr think they meant for okumura to not make it to first string as fast like furuya did, but made yui make the first string just as quick like eijun didn't its wild, the consistency to these characters are so mindboggling

and then last is yuuki w haruichi

both have really deep respect for their older brothers

came to seidou to see what their brothers seen

obviously both "better" than their brothers

yuuki knows he can surpass tetsu, ryousuke knows haruichi can surpass him

ive not rlly seen much of yuuki, honestly and its sad bc his character is so comical lmaoo. very similar to his brother who so adamant on being so bad at shogi and not knowing it

daiya is such a slow build anime, it takes HELLA patience to like it. i honestly dropped the anime so many times and only went back to it recently bc i want more of miyuki, but then fall and daiya ii happened and gawd, im just mindblown bc the characters start to build up on you

i freaking love mei LOL, i legitimately hated him in the first season but this boy is so hard to resist

you dont understand how much i screamed when he said "I AM KING" like YES MY BABY LMAOOO yakushi makes me smile and i luv raichi and sanada, but man their participation in koushien despite losing to seidou made me eh for a bit bc kinda wild

seidou and inashiro been fighting to go to nationals tooth and nail for the last six or so years and then there's yakushi. i get why tho, but doesnt mean i like it

i also didnt like eijun much, but my baby grew so much you just cant help but love him. even his annoying shouting spree became so endearing, i look forward to it every time he's in the bullpen. that pitching he did during spring against Ichidai is so fucking precious like OMG i understood what the coach and miyuki were trying to do, but they were basically babying furuya knowing he was anything but that, furuya is stronger than that as miyuki put it and ik they have a lot of expectations on aces but god that scene made me so sad bc furuya's alone in his thoughts as it is then they left him even more alone even w eijun there to help him, help them. it's not just furuya that's fighting something, bc eijun is too, everyday and it hurt that they made eijun cry and made him feel like he's not even good enough to be prioritized when he can be so much more. even furuya acknowledges it and it makes me sad bc i really ship miyusawa, but at that moment, i just didn't

It also involves Zim and Dib coming together to stop an even bigger threat and there is a really ironic ending that brings my OC GA83′s story full circle

I love looking for reference photos of him because this is always near the top of the search results.

I dont really plan on making anything for this, but I was thinking about family dynamics and how in a lot of modern aus, people make Suika either Senkuu's or Kohaku's little sister. Or if they have a mixed family then she's Kohaku's little sister and Senkuu's step-sister. However, I haven't seen anything about making her Chrome's little sister. To me, those two have the highest sibling energy. Kohaku dotes on her, Senkuu too but to a lesser extent, but Chrome, upon her introduction, scolds her for supposedly stealing his stuff. That's exactly what a bitchy older sibling would do. He treats her like an annoying kid sibling but also gets super excited whenever she does something cool. As Kohaku's little sister, she's really cute, but I feel like she gets boiled down as JUST being cute too much. I think her dynamic with Chrome would be more interesting. And in the current arc, they're being recognized almost as equals. They get along but not in a 'best buds' way. They're totally siblings

I'm sorry this is supposed to be about art but I keep getting distracted

I just learned how to toggle the bucket setting to expand the edge of the thingy so that there's no thin layer of uncolored space at the edges. And that there's a "close gaps" setting so I don't have to worry about having perfect lineart before using the bucket. All thanks to a quick coloring tutorial from sabertooth walrus

"Include this area as a selection" makes it easy to recolor lineart. I found out about it the other day and just used it now. Makes clothing folds on dark clothes easy to see

"Oh wow how do you get your thin lines so smooth?" I simply do not breathe.

My attitude towards making art has gotten so much healthier lately. My intro post says something about how my posts don't warrant the amount of effort I put in, and that's because I'd often think that whatever I was making was pointless. Now I dont really care about that, I'm throwing my all into making this thing because I wanna see what "my all" would be. It doesn't have to be meaningful or successful, I just had to remind myself that I'm doing this for fun. And it is a lot of fun

Within the single picture already. Except I went ahead and looked up where that line came from and came up with two extra screenshots to draw over so that'll take another day. Hmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I feel like this isn't testing my skills, as much as it is testing my patience, which I have a lot of. Maybe if I made myself color it it'll be more challenging. Maybe if I didn't have a photo to copy from. Maybe if I drew the background differently, changed the scene. Hmmmmm. I wanna try drawing nature scenes sometime, and experiment in tone values. You can do so much with greytones, and I'm not using that to its full extent

My love language is quality time like I just wanna be around that person a lot. I think the love language that speaks to me most is probably also quality time, like the fact that they would want to be around me willingly seems so unfamiliar I love the idea of it. Also words of affirmation or physical touch, I'm awkward at giving those but receiving them would make me melt cause I'm not really used to any of it. My ideal dates are simple things like going on walks at like 3am or dancing in the livingroom or movie nights just cheap simple things like that.

Have you ever felt as if drawing is against you? Now that you've progressed so much, did the feeling go away? I feel like whenever i draw something, the whole thing is against me. I get frustrated, annoyed and felt like I should just chop my hands away because it all felt wrong. Out of all the hobbies that i had that made me happy. Drawing is the only thing left for me. But it seems like even that wants to run away from me.

Now there is a thing I realized some time ago: every artist feels insecure about their art and sometimes its a real struggle for even the most professional artists out there.

Trust me. I have a pleasure of knowing many amazing artist, including professionals, whose art is just brilliant. Yet even they are having hard time. I'd even say that the more you expect from the piece and the more you pressure yourself, the harder it gets if the art doesnt meet your expectation. Especially if you start comparing yourself with others.

Truth is, any creative activity requires a lot of patience and practice and a diverse skillsets.

I dont even feel like I progressed much (thank you for that tho) but at this point I just want to draw the thing, even if my skills arent yet there - I can always redraw it later when Im more experienced. Heck, I wanna redraw the Trespasser comic for 3rd time now.

Anyways, draw what's fun for you, even if it's 108766 pictures of Dorian's profile. And if you feel artblocked, try to get a new perspective and consume other media. Books, animation, games, tv shows - all great, all expand your world. You find inspiration in weirdest places sometimes.

Also always use references because otherwise you make very frustrating mistakes. See that Life is Strange Zine preview i posted yesterday? Its cropped but Chloe is holding a cigarette. I had to google what a person having ciggie looks like because I suddenly realized I don’t know which side goes to the mouth lmao.

TL;DR don’t chop your hands off yet, many artists, pros and hobbyists, feel like “losers” when it’s coming to drawing. For me drawing is a real struggle - I want the end result, hate the process. But don’t give up and try to understand why you feel like that and how can you fix it 💪

"Dew!! Mister Finn! Get your rocking ass over here pleeaaaaase! I wanna gooooooo, baby!" Impatient as you was, you already finished lacing your roller skates when your boyfriend was still getting his stuff out of the car. You were done with your skates and decided your hair was only getting in the way when you sported. You reached behind your head to tie your pink locks in a bun as you heared a whistle on your left.

Ready to scold whoever had the nerves to whistle at you like you were a dog, you grinned as you watched Dewey approaching you. He took a sprint, and you literally facepalmed when you noticed he came actually rolling towards you. Was... was Dewey Finn actually... wearing heelys?! You snorted when he smoothly rolled your way, deciding that went way too smooth to be unpracticed beforehand.

Dewey stopped flawlessly an inch before your feet and winked at you: "Hey miss cotton-candy... have you by any chance saw my smoking-hot girlfriend? She looks exactly like you... but on the main has more patience and is a few inches shorter..."

He helped you on your feet and you kissed him sweetly with a chuckle. "Yayy!... i can reach whitout having to stand on my tiptoes! See Dew?" Dewey smiled against your lips and hummed a happy "Yeah babe. I can tell. If i didn't know any better i would say that you are excited."

You nudged his shoulder and rolled your eyes. "Wel... if I didn't know any better i would say that you secretly practiced your heely skills Dew..."

You heard dewey scoff, his hand on the crook of your neck as he pushed his nose against yours he mumbled: "What can i say? Im a natural. Plus... school is the perfect place to practice. All tiles and smooth floors..."

You pressed one more kiss on his lips and chuckled when you noticed Dewey tried to follow your lips with his, not ready to lose the contact yet. He was adorable as hell when he was this soft and needy.

"You rock everything you touch babe... but i gotta admit... i did not suspect the heelys." You murmered against his lips.

He grinned like an idiot and pulled up his skateboard. "...yeah... that one I did expect Dew. Now... come on! Let's go, let's go, let's goooooooooo sweety!!!!" You tugged him behind you and he smiled at your antics, finding you incredibly adorable all excited like this. Your enthausiasm making him excited as well.

You both had been skating for almost an hour or so, and your feet were starting to hurt a bit in your skates.

Dewey hopped on his board again and held your hand as you skated on his left. With a happy smile on his face he took your other hand too. Making you drag him behind you as you skated. It worked for a bit, cause you had enough speed, but after a while you both stopped going forward and he dryly bumped up against you with a small thump.

You and Dewey laughed ridiculously hard at the silly scene and plopped down on the board together. Using it as your seat for now.

You noticed Dewey was getting tired too, his hand absedmindedly brushed your knee. He huffed and dropped his head on your shoulder. Your hand tangled in his brown locks and pressed a gentle kiss on his hair as you patted his knee. "Hey champ? Youknow that i always wanted to learn how to ride the board? I tried once, fell and gave up after that..."

You looked to the side and smiled at Deweys features, his eyes were comically wide and he stood up abruptly. Extended his hand to pull you on your feet and he was already bouncing up and down with excitement. He flopped the board under his arm, looked at you in awe while smiling just as bright as when he was strumming his beloved guitar. Okay... maybe a bit more excited even. Dewey cleared his throat, took your hands in his and dropped to one knee as he excitedly blurted out: "Honey....pleaselemmeteachyoutoridetheboard!!!!"

You snorted at his antics, why on earth did you deserve this treasure of a human? You nodded yes and you chuckled at his beaming face... a happy puppy would be jalous of the features he was rocking. His utter 'joy and excitement face'. Said excited face went to a even higher state of excitement as you pulled him close and stilled his bouncing for a second when you gently kissed him.

When you pulled back you took frowning look at your skates, but Dew was faster then you could speak. Flopping the board on the ground with a thud, he dropped his backpack on the concrete and snatched your sneakers out of the bag with a proud smile on his face. You beamed back at him and winked "Right... My Dewey always comes prepared..."

He swallowed thickly, the innuendo didn't go unnoticed and you snorted again. He was just... so easy to tease somtimes.

You grabbed his shoulders for support, as his hands held your waist you switched your skates for the sneakers. "Oehh... sexy... like your happy-socks babe." Dewey teased back as he tickled your side. Honestly happy to feel the concrete under your feet again you wiggled your toes in the shoes and sighed. You were a bit worried about getting on the board, your last incident didnt end that well.

One look at Dewey made your mind shift... he looked so... happy. He wouldn't let you down, in any way, including the concrete.

Dewey senced that you were nervous though, squeezing your hand in reassurance he mumbled: "Only if you want to sweetheart, i will not let you fall. Promise."

You awnsered by kissing his stubble murmering: "Im good Dew... just... dont let me go okay? Small steps."

He bounced up and down like a 5 year old on a sugar-rush and nodded excitedly. He turned around towards the board and smacked your ass as he cheered: "Hell to the yeah!! Lets go!" You hissed back: "Dew, darling.... Behave!"

Dewey held your hand as he leaded you towards the board. When you were almost there he stopped and bowed: "Your carriage awaits m'lady." You rolled your eyes and scoffed but smiled nonetheless. His calloused fingers took hold of your forearms and he purred at you: "Step right up angel, im holding you up."

You took an anxcious, wobbly step on the board but felt Dewey supporting you. Dewey saw second of fear flash in your eyes. He squeezed your forearms to get your attention and sternly spoke: "Hey... love... look at me... keep your pretty eyes on me. You're doing great." He loosened his grip on your arms a bit but didn't completely let go, just like he promised.

"Whooow!!! You're doing it!!!" Dewey cheered happily at you and you proudly beamed back at him. He pulled you a bit closer to him, holding your forearm with one hand, wrapping the other on your waist. He pulled you into a happy kiss, and you felt him smile against your lips. His stubble tickeling a bit as he deepened the kiss and he hummed against your mouth. You chuckled: "Dew... my man... i can't quite figure out what you say, when your tongue is in my mouth youknow?"

He grinned at you, and you noticed a blush creeping up his cheeks when he mumbled: "Im proud of you, love."

He pulled you close against him and you laughed when he picked you up and lifted you off the board. He gently put you down on the floor again, hugging you as soon as your feet touched the concrete. Pressing a soft kiss on the top of your hair as you nuzzled your face in the crook of his neck, taking in the smell that was all Dewey.

"There ya go doll... nice and small again, all tiny whitout wheels." Dewey teased you and you went to stand on your tip-toes to rub your nose against his affectionately. "...well mister Finn... im not small, my love for you just highly concentrated."

Dewey pulled back and booped your nose, after that he abrubtly sprinted off: "Last one by the car is a loser!!!"

You sighed and watched the big kid run off towards the car, a smile creeping up your face. He was fully dedicated and pulled out his heely trick again, rolling towards the car with a loud excited "whoow!" As you watched Dewey pump his fists in the air in victory, you picked up the skateboard and walked towards your boyfriend. Said boyfriend was currently jamming in the car, singing along with the lyrics: "...and all the guys say Im pretty fly, for a white-guy..."

You slumped into the seat next to Dewey, and he winked at you: "Hey... it's the prettiest loser on the planet and beyond..." he joked.

You rolled your eyes with a smirk on your face, crept a hand slowly up from his knee till his thigh as you breathed against his neck: "...Well, well, well mister-rock-star... Guess you arent getting any tonight... and that's a shame. Cause i kinda have a thing for skater-boys..."

Dewey swallowed his taunting laugh away and looked at your pouting face. He reached out untie your pink bun, biting his lip as you did so.

You made sure to make a show of shaking your hair loose and felt Dewey tangle his calloused fingers inside your hair. He pulled your face closer to his and you heard him purr softly when you stroked your way further up his thigh, setteling when you felt the belt of his jeans.

Dewey's face was flushed as you stared at him intently, your lips inches away from his and whispered: "How long is the drive home skater-boy?"

He licked his lips and awnsered in a raspy voice: "erhm... 20 minutes..."

You teasingy pressed your lips against his, hearing him growl in desperation when you stroked him trough his jeans. "Gotta start the car to get it moving sweetheart."

Then you slumped back in your seat again, evil smirk on your face and plopped your feet on the dashboard as you two drove home.

Admittedly: it only took Dewey 14 minutes and a half. He ignored one red light and almost hit the neigbours car when parking... but it took him 14 minutes.

god i dont wanna be a complete bummer but i feel like sometimes you just gotta resign yourself to the fact that sometimes you aren’t meant to do the stuff you wanna do.

ideally, i would love to make both a videogame and a comic. but seeing how im handling myself and my workload, i just dont imagine myself having the drive to work hard on anything, even if im passionate about it. specially since i dont have the abilities i need to make them happen and i dont have the patience or concentration to make learn them properly

i feel like i have to accept that ill never be able to do those things or even learn how to do them so that i can just move on and so they stop making me depressed about not having any skills

i really, really hate college and the way it makes me feel. i have no other alternative than to keep at it here but i literally couldn’t care less about whatever it is we see in classes. im just there so i can get a job translating whatever and survive, at this point. which also makes me depressed; just living a life working for something i dont care about and regretting not doing whatever it is i wanted to do

man that sounds so awful. it feels so depressing not having any passion be strong enough so that i really want to work hard for it

ughh college just gets me in the worst mood

and then i think about how most of my personality is just the media i consume and how thats just awful for forming lasting relationships and that just makes me feel infinitely lonely

and ofc dysphoria and being closeted doesnt help either

Yoongi’s passion has always been one of your favourite things about him- if he cares about something, he’ll give his all to it. Thankfully you fall under that category. The only question is whether you’re first or second on the list, constantly competing with his music.

With Yoongi garnering a fair amount of success from his life as an underground rapper, you understand why it’s starting to take over more and more of his life, you really do. You loved Yoongi, you loved his music. But you couldn’t help but start to… miss your boyfriend. A sad irony that you could miss the man who’s been, as of late, spending the majority of his time in his ‘studio,’ aka the spare room of your shared apartment that he said was about a quarter the size of a proper studio. 

How could you miss someone that was less than fifteen feet away from you, two doors away? You weren’t sure that it was possible until now, lying in bed, Yoongi’s side cold and the offensive red light of your bedside alarm clock telling you it’s far past the time your boyfriend promised he’d be in bed by. You sigh, sitting up, knowing that you wouldn’t get any sleep if you just sat there and stewed in your negativity. So instead you’d seek him out.

Thankfully there isn’t a lock on the door, he hasn’t gotten around to putting one in yet. You know the day will come soon, since last time your friends were over, Jungkook and Jimin had managed to sneak their way in, looking like guilty puppies when Yoongi had caught them. 

Lock or not, Yoongi didn’t even hear you, ears covered by his almost comically oversized headphones, his dyed blonde head bobbing to whatever beat he’s working on at the moment. You can’t help but smile fondly at the sight of your sweet boy so immersed in the thing he’s dedicated his life to.

He’s only made aware of your presence when you wrap your arms around his shoulders from behind. He finally takes those ridiculous headphones off, pausing the track and letting you rest your chin on the top of his head.

You look at the two monitors in front of him as though you have any idea what’s going on on the screens. “Hard at work, huh genius?”

You feel him cock his head under you and he hums gently, one of his large hands- something about him you first fell in love with when you saw it, pale and slender, gripping a microphone on stage- grabbing at yours. “Sorry,” He mumbles, and you can tell by the timber and the gruffness of his voice that he hasn’t spoken a word since he came into this room a couple of hours ago. “Lose track of time in this room. No windows.”

“S’okay Yoon. Just missed you is all.”

Your words are innocent but they tug at his heart and make him shut his eyes for a moment. He never wants to make you feel like second best, but the way he falls into things sometimes makes him forget that anything else exists in the world. But now he wants to be close to you, to touch you, to make it all up to you. 

“C’mere,” He’s tugging at the hand he has in his grip, and he keeps tugging until you’ve circled around his chair to stand in front of him. “Up on my lap, babe.” An offer you couldn’t refuse. So you don’t.

You’re straddling him now, well-toned but not overtly muscular thighs under you- a familiar and welcoming seat of yours. His warmth is comforting to you and vice versa. “I’ve been neglecting you, haven’t I?” You don’t want to say yes, afraid of hurting his feelings but the pout that graces your features gives it all away.

“I know, baby, I’m sorry,” One of his large hands comes up to cup your face, and he coos softly when you lean and nuzzle into his palm, as if he isn’t thinking of all the filthy and depraved things he’s been missing out on with you while he’s been cooped up in his studio. “‘M gonna make it up to you.”

And then his mouth is on yours, and you’re reminded why you love kissing Min Yoongi so much. He’s careful and intense, every movement backed by the same confidence and dominance he exudes when he’s on stage. It’s when you deepen the kiss, his tongue slipping into your mouth, skilled and tactful, that you realize you weren’t just here for a quick visit.

“Yoongi,” You murmur as soon as he’s pulling back, detaching your mouths. You’re momentarily hypnotized by the string of spit that still connects the two of you, staring at it until it breaks. Yoongi notices this fascination of yours, and give you a smirk you regret ever confessing to him you find sexy. 

“Are you getting all desperate for me, silly girl? Hm?” You can’t help but rut your hips against his own at the words, loving the way they fall out of his mouth so lazily but with as much purpose as a presidential speech. “So needy ‘nd squirmy for me… Love seeing you so fucking desperate, you know.” His hands are travelling up your sleep shirt- aka an old band shirt of his that you had staked your claim over before the two of you had even moved in together.

His hands don’t go where more inexperienced ones might immediately go but instead traverse up and down your back, leaving delicious goosebumps in their wake. You shiver both from the feeling, and from the anticipation of what’s to come. You go to take your shirt off but are stopped by two hands circled around your wrists. “Patience,” Yoongi’s voice is next to your ear now, as he’s pulled you down using the grip he has on you. 

He’s made it clear that while you may be on top of him, he’s the one with control. ACORNBEE: she wants to become the top warrior of riverclan, pretty much! acornbee dedicates her life to upholding clan tradition and code, and her dream is to just become the most admired warrior in riverclan, one that the leader (snowstar….obviously) can trust with her nine lives (supposedly). however, acornbee takes the code a little too seriously -- anything that the leader could ever ask of her, she’d do without a second thought.

LIGHTNINGFACE: lightningface’s main goal in life has become more focused on their career as now they and eveningscale are the senior caretakers and technically like the head ranks of the caretakers. they’ve also got a little bit of a surprise coming on later during the comic ;) and their main goal will be making sure that little group stays safe and is raised happily. 

🌲: What’s their favorite hunting spot?

HORNETFLOWER: probably by the rivers and streams! she enjoys either physically being in the water or amongst the stones overseeing the water flowing by, and she and minkclaw often goofed off together as youngsters around streams and rivers, so she has a particular affinity for hunting in those spots !

GOLDENSCALE: as her name suggests, goldenscale is especially skilled at fishing!! so her favorite hunting spots around the territory would naturally be the streams and river running through their territory as thats where she’s at her prime B)!!!

LIGHTNINGFACE: lightningface prefers hunting in the open parts of riverclan territory, where the trees thin out, or near the windclan border! they have a windclan-cat like build, and prefer chasing down prey out in open areas, rather than dodging around trees and shrubbery. 

🛠️: How do they best contribute to their clan?

HORNETFLOWER: hornetflower is a very kind, and nurturing, member of riverclan. besides the typical warrior-duty stuff, such as patrols and hunting, hornetflower also helps out a great deal around camp - she makes sure apprentices are staying safe and out of trouble, and often drops by the nursery to interact with the caretakers and kittens there. BASICALLY she’s a very warm molly and a role model to some, so she best contributes to her clan besides her warrior duties by offering advice and guidance for youngsters and even others her age :3!

GOLDENSCALE: as mentioned before she’s EXCEPTIONAL at hunting fish and streams, so she contributes the best to riverclan by stocking the fresh-kill pile with plenty of fish she can catch, as well as giving tips and advice to apprentices and growing cats on how to more efficiently hunt fish in the river and streams!! 

ACORNBEE: as a very obedient, task-orientated molly, acornbee best contributes to her clan in the smaller ways - she does what she’s told, when she’s told, and she does it thoroughly and properly. she makes sure she gets her tasks for the day done before any free time, and takes her responsibilities very seriously - she also works on the dens and camp setting a lot, making sure everything is secure and, if anything needs patched, she’s the first one reporting to the opening to patch it up! she’s just a busy little bee around riverclan pretty much hehe!

LIGHTNINGFACE: they’re one of the senior caretakers, alongside eveningscale, so they contribute to the clan most by taking charge of the nursery. they make sure caretakers are in order, especially apprentices, and make sure everyone’s staying safe and happy. one of the more important duties they have is keeping a note on kitten personalities and traits, because the senior caretakers often sit down with the leader before a group of kits is to be apprentices and give the leader their input on who should mentor which kit, and what career choices the kits have decided on. of course, the mentor-and-apprentice pair ups are the leaders final choice, but they usually do take the senior caretakers recommendations, and they of course make sure not to pair up a kit interested in becoming a caretaker with a warrior mentor or vice versa!

💡: Give a random fact about them?

HORNETFLOWER: hornetflower is the revamp of an old rp oc named Hopwhisker! I kinda miss the hop- prefix a lot honestly…. Anyways! she had 6 toes and was a scottish fold, both of which kinda got revamped to just big paws and floppy ears, but

GOLDENSCALE: originally she was part of the main group with lampreyface, hornetflower, minkclaw, blackcloud (before cootwhisker got in the way) and marigoldface! they were, conceptually, a very tight-knit friend group, but i ended up making lampreyface older than that generation and the group itself was feeling a little crowded so i broke it up a little. while they are all still friends they’re not like The Group as originally planned sdfhsdf! 

ACORNBEE: she is the second ever cat i used the -bee prefix on :D!

LIGHTNINGFACE: there’s a rumor in windclan that went around shortly after rosepaw’s apprentice ceremony/first apprentice gathering that lightningface was actually rosepaw’s sire - although there’s no real validity to that claim. lightningface just happens to look a lot like their nephew. 

🌠: Are they religious?

HORNETFLOWER: hornetflower isn’t devoutly religious in how she acts, so she doesn’t really pray daily or send her thoughts to starclan daily, but she will head down to the river (a common spot for most riverclan cats to stop by and pray without heading all the way up to starclan’s ledge, should they feel the need to pray for something) and pray for her friends or family if someone she knows is in danger, or battling an illness, or going out on a particularly dangerous job/duty/task. if a clanmate or someone she knows from a different clan has passed away too, she’ll sit down and send a silent prayer up to starclan, asking for her ancestor’s to welcome the aforementioned cat into their ranks securely.

GOLDENSCALE: besides just….believing in starclan, goldenscale doesn’t really do anything or behave in any particularly religious manners. she never really prays unless she feels it’s desperately, desperately needed, and you could probably count the amount of times shes prayed on one of ur hands. her religious behavior/familiarity extends to just simply knowing that there’s a place after death.

ACORNBEE: acornbee, on the other hand, is very attentive in her religious behavior. she typically takes a moment to thank starclan for a catch once she hunts prey down, and prays before she sits down to eat, typically again just a little thank you to starclan for blessing her with a meal. shes not shy when it comes to prayers for starclan, and often thinks to them for advice - however, in her eyes, the closest a living cat can get to communing with starclan outside of starclan’s ledge is the leader: the leader, in acornbees eyes, has direct path with starclan, and whatever the leader orders, it must be a will of starclan. it can be an unfortunate vulnerable way of thinking.

LIGHTNINGFACE: the most notable behavior they do when it comes to religion is the fact they will send a prayer up to starclan before every birth - its usually just a quiet, quick “let this cat and their kits make it through the birth” in their head before they settle down to help the cat in labor deliver kits, alongside eveningscale. they also tell kittens and apprentices lore and mythology, as well as about starclan, so that could also be a way that u can see how they act in according to their religion!!

Maybe HT means good - but how would we know? we don’t have access to his thoughts - but we must judge his actions, and his actions are for the least very troubling. It’s always abt coercing Mo and not respecting his boundaries. Im thrilled to see how theyre going to evolve -for the better or the worse, both is good for me. But i’m very disappointed by the fandom reaction like “ooh how cute hes possessive it means love!” or “actually its not bad doing HT doing that bc his intentions are good”. 4/5

And I will be vry, vry disappointed if OX decides to follow this trend and to not show how this kind of actions is detrimental to their reliationship and use the tired and dangerous trope of “being violent means that you care”. I trust them to be more nuanced than that bc until now they are great at drawing grey relationship. So yea i hope next chapter, tianshan plunges (before being better). phew. there’s a lot to unpack here – but I agree wholeheartedly with you. since this post is already kinda long, I will put my answer/explanation under the cut!

the parts that I bolded in your asks are what I intend to focus on in this answer. strap in, because this is going to be a long one. 

before anything, let me put a disclaimer: I love He Tian. I love Guan Shan. I love Old Xian. I love tianshan, and I love where they are headed in the manhua. does that mean I also love where tianshan are right now? no, it doesn’t. and I’m here to explain why I look forward to their potential rather than their current relationship’s dynamics.  

one of the hardest parts about being in a fandom is being able to separate fiction, reality, and morality. this is especially hard when a fandom is as old and endearing as 19 Days, and when you fall in love with & are rooting for all the characters. furthermore, 19 Days is not a tragedy. of course, when Jian Yi disappears, it will be tragic. but otherwise the majority of the manhua is a comical, romantic slice-of-life plot. as such, it’s easier for what would usually be seen as blaring issues/problems in tragedies to be disregarded for comedy or, in some cases, romance in a comedic, romantic slice-of-life. 

this is exactly the case with tianshan. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: He Tian’s current relationship with Guan Shan is not healthy. he doesn’t listen to Guan Shan. he doesn’t respect his personal space. he doesn’t know where to draw the line. he doesn’t know how to properly communicate with him, and thus resorts to violence or threats. tianshan just have a problem with communication. and, sure, maybe it can be chalked up to the fact that they’re young and stressed and don’t know any better. but that excuse is almost as bad as the “boys will be boys” excuse, and that doesn’t make it any better nor does it justify their actions. 

He Tian’s idea of relationships is so twisted, and as I talked about in a previous answer, it can probably be stemmed back to his trauma with the puppy Cheng took away from him. I won’t get too deep into that since I explained it in detail in that answer, but keep this in mind nonetheless: He Tian grew up in a family of violence, distance, miscommunication, and lies. it’s all he’s ever known, and that’s what he’s applying to his relationship with Guan Shan. does that make it right? no, absolutely not. but he’s learning. 

when Guan Shan had a panic attack at the restaurant, He Tian learned that people aren’t robots/pawns to use at his disposal and rather have their own strong emotions/backgrounds that shape them. thus, he brought Guan Shan home without a word. when he had his night terror and woke up to Guan Shan holding his hands, He Tian realized that there are parts of Guan Shan he still doesn’t know and, potentially, an aspect of their relationship that they’ve only started to uncover. thus, he thanked him without preamble and with a bowed head. 

what I’m trying to say is that He Tian does have good intentions at times, but not always. he’s learning as he goes, because god knows he didn’t have a family to teach him how healthy relationships should be. there probably is a part of He Tian that only wants to protect Guan Shan against She Li, but he certainly doesn’t show it in the right way. he acts possessive because he knows that if he doesn’t, he’ll lose what he loves (*insert flashback to the puppy*). again, does that make it right? hell no. jealousy and possessiveness are not cute and are entirely unhealthy in a relationship. the fandom should view them as such, but should also keep an open mind when considering He Tian’s background. 

and honestly, the reason why I’m focusing so much on He Tian right now rather than Guan Shan is because if it were up to Guan Shan, he would’ve dropped He Tian within the first few days (maybe even hours) of meeting him. but because of He Tian’s persistence, Guan Shan has no choice but to be involved with him and retaliate when He Tian verbally/physically/emotionally attacks him. nonetheless, Guan Shan has tried to walk away from He Tian on multiple occasions when He Tian’s teasing became too much, and on those occasions, He Tian has given in. (ex. I can’t find the exact chapter, but there is a chapter in which Guan Shan refuses to use He Tian’s fork to eat He Tian’s leftovers, and he gets up and says, “I’m going home,” to which He Tian replies, “Fine, fine, I’ll buy you new food.”)

so yes – tianshan certainly have flaws. He Tian holds too much power, and Guan Shan can’t catch a break. the fandom romanticizes their interactions, but if you take a moment to think realistically and recognize that character flaws are essentially bad but also critical for character development, then there is an even balance in the readers’ relationship with the manhua. don’t support He Tian’s violent interactions with Guan Shan and claim “omg He Tian loves Guan Shan sooooo much when he forces Guan Shan to do XYZ,” but rather support the fact that he hasn’t physically manhandled/harmed Guan Shan in many chapters. support and celebrate He Tian’s development, not his flaws. 

and as for what you said about Guan Shan telling He Tian that he’s “no better than She Li”? while I don’t think He Tian is truly as bad as She Li, I actually think that would be a painful, great, and pivotal moment in their relationship. after all, the most consequential scene in tianshan’s relationship thus far has been the kiss. at that moment, Guan Shan had told He Tian outright that he disgusted him and to leave him alone. since then, I don’t think He Tian has ever looked so… taken aback. unsettled. 

and guess what? their relationship has only gotten better since then, and He Tian hasn’t touched him like that again. 

I don’t know, anon. it’s a tough call. I think tianshan have a lot more chapters ahead of them, and I don’t think Old Xian will allow them to end on bad terms. actually, I don’t think Old Xian will allow them to end on the terms that they’re on right now. they can only improve from here on out, but how Old Xian will go about showing that improvement is unknown to us. there are many paths this story can take, but rather than worrying about what might happen, let’s focus on the here and now. let’s focus on the problems at hand, and let’s focus on the development the characters are undergoing. 

don’t ignore the wrongness/cruelty of characters’ actions, but don’t romanticize them either. if you do, you’re only doing a disservice to the character’s personality, existence, and the author’s intentions.

(and as for this newest chapter specifically: I see why people can get excited about He Tian telling Guan Shan to wear the earrings. He Tian wants to verify to both himself and She Li that Guan Shan is with him now. that Guan Shan is no longer under She Li’s control. who doesn’t love a little verification of their OTP’s relationship, especially when it involves an enemy?

but at the same time, it’s unhealthy. Guan Shan doesn’t have a say. he’s being handed around like an object. I don’t think this is pessimistic thinking; I think it’s the truth that no one wants to acknowledge/hear. but I’m not saying that tianshan is wrong in this chapter; I’m saying that He Tian has good intentions, but he’s not showing them correctly. and there will be a chapter in which he does show them correctly, but we must travel this rocky road before we get to that point. patience is key, and I cannot wait until He Tian and Guan Shan reach that moment of clarity. you can’t have light without the dark.)
