I kinda got carried away and wrote waaaaay more than I thought i would

"Wow, your room is so... swanky." you commented upon entering his room for the first time. It was decorated in checkerboard patterns and heart motifs, which was very fitting for the dorm of Heartslabyul.

You never expected him to actually agree when you jokingly suggested a sleepover, but you're definitely not complaining.

"Thank you. It was modeled after the Queen of Hearts' castle and has mostly stayed the same throughout the dorm's history. I only made a few adjustments to have it be better suited to me." he explained. Clearly, he took good care of the place since it looked very clean and organised.

"By the way, you won't collar me if I happen to break any of your weird rules by accident, will you?" you were still somewhat worried you'd have to sleep with that uncomfy collar around your neck.

"I will excuse you from the rules, just this once. But do not call the rules 'weird', as it is quite disrespectful to do so." he crossed his arms.

"They aren't insults. Just little comparisons." You smiled innocently at him. While they are just comparisons in a sense, they are usually meant to rile him up a little bit. You just can't help but banter with anyone and everyone sometimes.

You had asked Trey about Riddle's food preferences before, but it was unrelated to this sleepover. You can only thank your past self (and Trey) for arming you with the valuable knowledge that Riddle likes strawberry tarts (and consequently strawberries, you hope).

"Oh. I suppose these look quite tasty." he was actually really pleasantly surprised about your choice of snack. It's surprisingly fit to his tastes.

How thoughtful of you...

"Here, have one!" you actually made homemade chocolate just for these. Trey gave you a good baking lesson on how to do that. So of course, you want him to be the first one to try!

He hesitates for a moment. Although the food you're giving him doesn't break any of the Queen's rules, it still feels off to be eating so late at night. Scheduled meals are so ingrained into his mind that he feels the sudden urge to reject the offer and go brush his teeth immediately.

You still made sure you swallowed the food before you talked though. To avoid a scolding about proper manners from Riddle.

"So, for this sleepover I was thinking we could try summoning a demon, playing board games, doing karaoke, watching a movie, playing 'would you rather', making a pillow fort, and-"

"What was that first one?" Riddle had never experienced a sleepover before, so he had no clue what people actually did in them but he always just imagined sleepovers were purely sleeping at eachother's houses, not doing anything BUT that. He could barely keep up with all of the things you were listing off, but the first one ESPECIALLY stumped him.

"Summoning a demon? Everyone tries that in sleepovers. Usually doesn't work." you shrugged casually, reaching for another strawberry.

"How... horrific. And utterly nonsensical. What joy do you get from doing something so horrible? Especially if you know it won't work?" he seemed genuinely stumped by the concept, which made you want to laugh but you held back since you didn't want to choke on a chocolate-covered strawberry. It would certainly be a way to go.

"It's about the thrill, Riddle. What if it actually works this time? You never know...." you whisper teasingly, like a narrarator in a horror movie.

"In that case, we are absolutely not doing that." he hates to admit it, but he's actually kind of worried a silly ritual might workmand is taking precautions right now to not let it happen at all.

"Hahaha, that's fine! We can do all the other stuff, then." you decided to take mercy on him after seeing how hard he's trying not to let it show that he's scared of demon summoning games. He reminds you of your friends on your first sleepover when you tried summoning a demon. All of you were acting tough and unbothered back then, but were deathly afraid and unable to sleep after.

When you reached for another strawberry, you just happened to grab Riddle's hand instead. Seems you were both going for the same one. Actually, that one's the final one!

"Oops... you go ahead and take it. I feel like I've had enough." you smiled awkwardly at him. Gosh, is it suddenly slightly hotter in here or is it just you?

"Thank you." Riddle looked away, turning his head so you wouldn't see his reddening face as he ate the final strawberry. He's kinda mad at himself for getting so flustered over an accidental hand hold. Your hand felt so... nice to hold. It would be so nice if he could hold it more often. Gah, what on earth is he thinking?! None of this is rational...

An awkward silence fills the room.

You picked up a pillow from his bed and threw it at the back of his head.

Now that he thinks about it, it has been a long long time since he has felt this excited and relaxed. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to do this over and over and over again.

You let out a yawn, the sheer banality of this morning's affair was shocking to you.

At Rhaenyra's request you were sat by her side as she listened to petitions from various Lords from all over the realm offering her their hand in marriage.

You scowl at the man before you, he had been going on about the state of his castle. Nothing of interest to you and certainly not to the Princess. If this was his idea of wooing a lady only the gods knew how he would be like as a husband.

Rhaenyra's face contorts in amusement at your remark before looking down at her hands, fiddling with her rings out of disinterest.

"Tell me, lord Dondarrion did you think my great grandmother was as beautiful as they say?"

The Princess interupts the man mid sentence and you shake your head in disapproval.

"This was half a century ago Princess" Lord Dondarrion responds, perplexed.

"Yes it was."

The entire court erupts with laughter, you stiffle a grin yourself.

The older man sulks before walking away, being last to catch on the Princess making a mockery of him.

Rhaenyra glances at you with a sly smirk before rolling her eyes.

Boremund glares at the two of you. You throw him an innocent smile, very well knowing he has no notion of what is being said between you.

You were itching for these proceedings to conclude.

A young boy, he must have been no older than 10 and 2. You recognised his sigil, house Blackwood.

He goes on and recites a rather well rehearsed speech. Voice trembling but otherwise full of conviction.

A rictus, albeit kind smile painted on Rhaenyra's face.

She is not convinced.

"If chosen as your match Princess, your days shall be easy and night's safe under my protection."

The boy says and you purse your lips, trying not to laugh aloud once again.

"Protection? The Princess has a dragon you dumb cunt."

One of Rhaenyra's many suitors exclaims from the crowd and the boy unsheathes his sword, summoning a challenge.

You roll your eyes. Whether it be a man grown or a little boy, they are all the same.

"We're leaving." Rhaenyra stands, swiftly grabbing your hand. Taking your leave by her side and matching her strut.

"Ser Criston, send word to the harbor and have Captain Oswin ready the ship for you."

"Lady y/n and I will leave on Dragonback. We will see you back at King's Landing."

Criston glances at you in confusion and you only give him a shrug.

"Princess, we're due in Bitterbridge in 3 days time."

Rhaenyra stops in her tracks, You, Criston and his men followed suit. The Princess glares at the Knight and he opposes for a moment before relenting.

"Very well, Princess."

Rhaenyra grabs your arm again forcing you to pick up the pace. You eventually find yourselves alone in a dimly lit hallway far from the commotion in the other room.

"Nyra–" You yelp, as she expertly pushes you up against a wall her hand resting against it.

She leans in capturing your lips into a searing kiss. You melt at the feeling of her mouth against yours, simply aching for her.

Rhaenyra's hands find your waist as she disconnects your lips. You nearly shiver under her intense stare. She watches your chest heave as you attempted to catch your breath. You notice her breathing just as heavily.

(it is not morning and I haven't had a thought since forever because I've been dual wielding HSR and genshin for god knows how long)

ANYWAYS idk if you've written about this but

Imagine this: Zhongli as a dragon has mating cycles, right. And during mating season when he's in a rut man needs somewhere to deposit his clutch of eggs and shoot his load so they will grow into dragon babies! Problem is, he literally does not want or frankly, NEED baby dragons flying around but his body disagrees with him

So now that transmasc! Childe is his bf, he gets (guess what) bred every now and then, and because [insert reason], he can't get pregnant but his belly swells with a clutch of eggs whenever Morax gets supremely horny :)

(bonus: dragon eggs are extremely rare in this economy and it's Zhongli's one™ source of steady income in this economy. Oh, and because of adeptus magic childe lactates too no I don't make the rules teehee)

i like dragon zhongli very much but i dont think i ever wrote anything of the sort or ever heard of a version like this where he just needs a place to deposit eggs. like i do see fics / art where he just breeds childe during a mating cycle with the intention of having dragon babies flying around. BUT LIKE THIS VERSION WHERE THIS IS HIS JOB AND HE'S SELLING EGGS. idk its really unique to me /pos i read a lot of zc but i never thought of it like this.

so personally i think, it starts out as a normal relationship. i dont think zhongli would reveal that he's a dragon so soon into any relationship without establishing a bond of trust. and even when he eventually tells childe he still doesnt talk about the egg part. its just a heads up, he doesnt really want to involve childe in it, not much he could do about it as a mortal. it could easily be a hard boundary for him too considering he's trans, possibly dysphoric, might be transitioning etc. but long story short is zhongli would not want to burden childe with it.

when it is the peak of his cycle he just kind of disappears, he has work and childe travels in and out of liyue often. its not that noticible, not like they spend every waking moment together bc that is just not feasible for the type of relationship they have, so he keeps it quiet without much effort.

meanwhile it does take a toll on his body and mind going through all that, going through his cycles in unnatural ways, worrying about the eggs afterwards and so on.

until one cycle he's really caught up in it, he feels it draw near and he should find an excuse to depart from childe at his earliest convenience, possibly realizing this right when they're getting intimate like always. but childe can feel him hold back, trying to suppress an urge, his hands are not only marked golden brown like usual but he swears he can see the gold in it glow and sparkle.

zhongli also feels different, its very different from how gentle and tender he usually is with childe. he still is but its restrained, trying to shove something down and childe certainly feels it. he keeps asking whats wrong but zhongli wants to get it over with before he loses it completely and leave.

childe doesnt want that though, he soothes zhongli and calms him down, reassures him that he can be honest. so zhongli eventually comes clean and explains all that he's been hiding, emphasis on how he does NOT want childe to get involved in it.

but childe wants to. he says he can take it and that its not a problem unless zhongli wants him to birth or look after the children in any way (and thats not what zhongli wants anyways)

but STILL. at this point i thing childe would still see it as a... thing. like its not something to get sentimental over. it's just about zhongli's biology and he doesnt understand it fully but he understands that he can be of help.

and there is no guarantee that it would work so essentially he asks zhongli to try, and he does. but the second he does, childe realizes that he cant really look at it as a matter of simply helping zhongli out. in theory, it is. but in practice he feels so different, he sees a different, primal and feral version of zhongli that was hidden from him all this time.

he spends hours tracing his fingers over his horns and his tail, admiring the pattern on it, falling asleep on it sometimes and zhongli wraps it around him for comfort. and of course the fact that he is literally being bred, not in a way that was not plausible to him before, uttered in the heat of the moment when they made love solely as a fantasy. now that it becomes a reality childe's heart races thinking about it.

even when they're apart zhongli is quite literally still with him, he thinks about the way he growls in his ear before releasing, how zhongli holds him close right after and whispers "mine" before they fall asleep. when he's alone in the dark he finds himself yearning for a pair of yellow, reptilian eyes in the dark and sharp claws around his hips.

and since you mentioned adeptal magic i think zhongli would be capable of creating a seal that makes this whole thing easier, more natural lubrication from his body so he can take it more easily. a mortal body would probably be trashed during this entire process so he would make sure that it doesnt irreversibly damage childe in any way.

and who knows, maybe with that one day they do decide to be parents and actually go through with the whole thing 🤔 they would make wonderful fathers so i would love to see it but anyways this is my 2 cents on the topic 🫡

the gist: classic dave bambi lore Except bambi is not a nice wisdom god he's actually a mean war god. hence why everything surrounding him is much more.. aggressive

when pissed off he doesnt just throw his stupid phone at you. his body contorts and shakes and catches fire like some freak of nature. scary

here i have decided bambi is just a vessel of sorts to contain a dormant god and boyfriend hopping into his farm specifically to piss him off somehow wakes up the god Just a little (probably not entirely though? not enough trolling)

lord bambi being a fucked up tyrant here is also inspired by the title of the song "thearchy", which is a word meaning like. you know a monarchy. imagine that but with a god. rule of god. badass word actually. also i think it's funny to interpret mods where expunged is probably supposed to be a god as them like... not being one (im evil)

i did make some kind of design for him based on that opposition form... never really finalized it (i think it looks Too modern blah blah) but here

sudoku classism is so interesting to me because in my country crosswords are a thing grandma does on a train station and sudokos are a little more respected (because grandmas usually dont know the rules and you dont need to know rules to do crosswords). also usually our crosswords are easy idk ive tried doing english crosswords and it’s some c2 language proficiency stuff😭

yeah there's certainly no actual grounding to sudoku being any 'easier'---it's just a different skillset that's required. a sudoku designed to be challenging requires complex logic, whereas a crossword can look sort of hacky in comparison if it comes down to, like, how many actors' names you know lol. and like i said, in america a lot of the disdain for sudoku is racialised and also coming from a specific segment of like, nyt intelligentsia who wants to culturally differentiate themselves from some imagined technocrat class 😭

the difficulty of a crossword puzzle depends both on its fill (the letters in the grid) and on its clueing. a puzzle clued 'straight' (definitions of words, direct trivia) will be a lot easier than one clued with a lot of wordplay, clues that cross-reference one another, or a particularly complicated theme or metapuzzle. so within the crosswording world there's also a lot of internal hierarchy lol. like, people who religiously do the saturday in the new york times look down on people who only do the sunday in the washington post, or god forbid just do usatoday. new yorker is more erudite. and construction-wise, grids with a higher percentage of shaded squares or 3-letter answers are easier and therefore legacy media submission guidelines usually limit these things lol.

anyway my point is just that american crosswords are made exclusive and highbrow on purpose, and people who think solving crosswords makes them smart usually don't realise how much they're just using "smart" to mean "part of the narrow reader demographic being targeted by this publication." also there are tricks you pick up by doing a lot of crosswords, and certain words that show up in crosswords and nowhere else (smee). down with crossword superiority complexes or whatever

stede bonnet, sure he hates the man- for what he’s done to edward, whichever face you take it on, but Also for stede’s disdain and lack of respect for Izzy’s world on the whole, the way he sees it. stede breaks not just the toxic masculinity rules that get pointed out a lot, but the very real spoken and unspoken rules he simply doesn’t like, the ones that matter very much to Izzy’s world. Don’t fight with other pirates, dont screw over anyone you can’t kill, don’t display your weakness, don’t blur the line between chain of command and friends, Respect that chain of command and respect ownership of places and the way that system works, - both with Jackie’s Bar and the taking of The Revenge- take care of your crew by hiring people who can take care of themselves, and penultimately, respect Death. it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say that izzy sees stede coming in, and not only badly affecting Edward but also spitting in the face of every rule that both keeps izzy alive and runs his world, disdainful of the class barrier he’s playing sandbox in. edward and stede are both playing, to some extent, desperately trying to ‘amuse’ themselves while izzy is trying to stay and keep alive and Earn that living. stede’s going to get his whole crew killed, the first time him and ed meet, and edward gets several of their own crew killed instead, so they can both keep playing, while izzy has Got to be registering the pattern that piracy was historically supposed to escape- we’re not dying for the ‘betters’ who don’t give a shit about us, fuck them we can rule ourselves- (5)

and then getting aboard the revenge where both captains are getting crew killed for their own whims once more, rather than the peoples chain of command and quite frankly, izzy didnt sign up for this shit, and certainly not to play gentry with stede bonnet. the show has talked about it a bit- oluwande and jim and stede, frenchies past, Edward and his mother. but the role specifically of, ‘ we carved Blackbeard from our own skins to make this into armor and Survive, and now not only does this guy turn his nose up at everything we do, but you both act like it was never necessary in the first place’- it’d have to be fucking infuriating. (7/7 thank you)

I always come back to that conversation Oluwande has with Stede too, the one where he explains that Stede might be having a grand time cosplaying pirate because he wants to, but he and Jim are doing it because neither of them have any other options, and it's easy to interpret from there (and from how they all are) that this goes for everyone else on the crew too, unless otherwise stated.

It makes sense that Izzy would be pissed off by Stede swanning in and making it all about him and making Ed feel like he has other options (does he? does he actually?)

I would also like to argue that Stede came in and changed Edward. I've already talked about how Ed very clearly masks, but more than that he hyperfixated on Stede to such an extent he no longer cared about keeping his own crew alive. He was so focused on meeting and impressing Stede that he sacrificed multiple crewmembers of his own ship with nothing more than a shrug and a, "Well, they're pirates, they signed up for this."

Like, no? They did not sign up to die to save Stede Bonnet, far from it, and frankly Izzy would see that side of it rather strongly too: none of them wanted to live or die for rich ponces who pushed them around, so they signed up to work with Blackbeard who uh had them die for a rich ponce--

The class dynamics between Izzy and Stede are so important to their conflict, ugh!!

You do bring up a really good point though. God complexes in of themselves aren't bad like. at all. They're just thoughts. Having feelings of omnipotence and feeling superior than others is fine and dandy so long as you don't, y'know, act on them. I don't particularly feel like spouting out my own intrusive thoughts and share how I think of things, but yeah. I get them quite a bit.

The thing with Darkstalker is that he certainly does have a god complex. Nothing wrong with it, again, but rather it's definitely something that spirals out of control. I'm actually quite concerned you're defending Darkstalker, a character who's consumed by evil, for your quite frankly fine friends. They most certainly don't want to act on their thoughts and are ashamed, while Darkstalker fully embraces them.

The ego is such a wonderfully fascinating part of the mind. It's an interesting thing. I'm not saying Darkstalker has a god-complex just because I don't like him or want to label him with certain rude labels. If that were the case, I may as well call him ableist things like a psychopath or something. I say he had a god-complex because that's quite literally what the text describes him as having. I'm not trying to make people who have these complexes and feelings of omnipotence out as bad people. They aren't. Rather, it is Darkstalker who acts on these thoughts and becomes consumed by his every desire and wish.

okay so, sorry to be That Guy. but lawrence as an apprentice makes the most sense for his character and the saw universe and im going to use this random ask to voice my opinion so thank you for using my ask box as a saw google lol

i DO with we got to see that version because it would mean more lawrence screentime and i genuinely do not dislike any saw content. idc how shitty saw x is, it could undo everything and shit all over it but i would NOT care. any content means an avenue to explore saw further

thats one of the main reasons the apprentice reveal was so good, in my opinion. before i get to why its great for lawrence, i want to point out why it works SO well for the other aspects. amanda is johns pseudo-daughter, he LOVED her like a father. we see it at the end of saw iii. no matter what he says, john does not forgive people. he punishes jill for losing their child but at the end of iii, we see him genuinely look at amanda with love and forgiveness. and yet? he never trusted her enough to tell her about lawrence. this random fucking guy who didnt even WIN, is the golden child. trusted with his wife!

as for mark, he is the definition of jigsaws philosophy. he may have jostled his victims around but he had the strongest will to live out of anyone and never relished in hurting them (crying after kidnapping paul + killing seth). another reason i like 3D is that he cant even look at jills corpse. his "game over" wasnt victorious. not like johns always is. YET he is not trusted. hes been there since before amanda, followed his rules, lived his philosophy and he was shafted again. i think the reveal does a lot of good for the apprentice-john dynamic for everyone involved.

secondly, JOHNS TESTS DONT WORK. CANONICALLY. they do not!! amanda says it herself. jigsaw traps make people worse, and not just bc thats a logical response to trauma. working for john amplifies everyones worst traits. amanda became a killer, mark grew to find some sort of enjoyment in killing (at the very least, it made him dependent on it for power and a sense of identity after the loss of his sister)

lawrences test was designed to show him what john said he was missing: empathy. he has none! he lies and doesnt care, he cant understand other peoples points of view, and he prioritizes his own whims and wants over everyone. CONSISTENTLY. so what happens when his tests presents him with the very definition of his heart and moral core, then asks him to kill him? he gets fucking worse!

lawrence is a narcissist. as in the personality disorder. he has low empathy (this is canonically the reason for his test!! not just "he cheated" or "he ignored john", he does these things for that reason) and god. just look at the symptoms, its like they made every scene an example of them on purpose. the idea that his game would be a wake up call and cause him to reflect and adjust his behaviors is just insane to me! within the canon logic of the story, and when taking into account his clear personality disorder... its the most logical choice (source: i have it and also i have eyes. SIDE SIDE note, my real source is that hes a clear parallel to john and john was evaluated for NPD in his psychiatric files in the saw game. so theres that) i think this has a lot to do with people not understanding low empathy. they cant understand why he would betray adam and join jigsaw

trauma wont change that overnight. getting fixed by john for 2 years without seeing the sun certainly wont help either

lawrence as an apprentice is the most logical progression of his character. he does what he wants and what he has to, at the expense of others. hes isolated from his wife and child. he cant understand other peoples prespective. he has an issue with guilt or feeling empathy for people, including those suffering like john. this wont change bc he experienced his first shred of empathy after MURDERING someone he got to know for 6 hours. low empathy =/= no empathy. thats like saying dude bros who do shrooms and experience empathy for the first time in their life are changed people. they arent lol

also the contrast between his game over vs marks 5 minutes earlier is SO important for their characters. theres so much good shit in that movie. take out the corny lines and jill mistreatment, and u have a lot to work with! so yes i do think that itd be more awesome. i love saw 3D and what it did for his character. im not sure how saw iii hostage lawrence wouldve expanded on his character, but id rather go with saw 3D bc im confident they didnt butcher his character. im glad that a beloved protagonist is a complete narc, and hes still beloved! im never giving that up

I find it interesting that you praise Tessa and Scott so much for so many things, including their athleticism, but that you put quotes around “sport” when referring to ice dance today. While no team may live up to what Tessa and Scott brought to the sport, don’t you think that athletes today, even those at a lesser level or who don’t push the boundaries of art and possibility, still deserve some level of respect? Like Chock and Bates, I don’t watch them all that much but I can certainly respect improvement, dedication, and their own innovation without loving watching them like I did VM. Would you really look at what they are doing and not call C/B and others athletes? Curious to hear your thoughts.

LONG POST AHEAD:

It’s not that I don’t respect other teams.. I just don’t care that much about the sport.. I’ve watched a lot of it but predominantly only competitions from VM’s era- so im much more familiar with teams they competed against.I think I’m able to speak so specifically and with such nuance on VM because I adore them and I have studied them with such precision.. other teams I haven’t done that because i dont feel the connection that i do to VM. Anon I’m interested why you pulled out that specific word air quoted? Honestly I didn’t think about it, I put quotes around things all the time and it’s hardly the first time i or anyone has questioned Ice dance’s legitimacy of the sport.. remember when it nearly got kicked out of the olys. This is all to do with standards and I don’t feel the sport is at a high standard at the moment, not where it use to be and it’s disappointing when there are people who could be so talented are being held back by some shitty ISU rules, not allowing or rewarding strong technical skating and athletic excellence. (There are people who know far more than me who have said this same thing on here).

If I’m being perfectly honest there were things I saw when I first watched VM that I didn’t think we’re great:

Eg: I didn’t like the stat lift position in Mahler

I thought there were some sloppy moments in various Carmen performances (and while i love it for everything that it is it is and why they did it it’s not my fave program and they could’ve done it much better)

I don’t ‘LOVE’ their Latin SD from 2011/12

And various other nuanced moments because I’ve been trained (through high level ballet) to critique things.

As I’ve watched more and more I’ve been able to appreciate really nuanced things in their skating/dancing and overall partnership. I love them and appreciate them because they are the one team I feel that fully balances sport and dance, and on top of that they have this unbelievable chemistry that creates an odd illusion of seeing two people experiencing a relationship, but are so connected and have this physical advantage that kinda makes it so you are only seeing one of them. On the sport and dance matter, case and point: when I showed them to my mum who was with me all through my dancing and has seen a lot and nothing much impresses her, she’s not a dancer but she can tell what’s good and what’s not unbiasedly: watching some ice dance she said ‘the sport is ice dance right, i don’t feel like they are dancing’. Watching TS, ‘they are dancing. I feel them dancing, telling a story, I fully believe them, I don’t care they are on ice in skates, they are dancers’. She like me through dance is quite judgmental of skating, gymnastics etc, when there isn’t turnout of pointed feet or drab performances, she says so. TS she never felt that. She recalled seeing them years ago probably from YVR or Sochi and she thought they were beautiful but she thought everyone was like that.. then when I made her watch a comp she said ‘oh god TS aren’t even on the same level.. there’s no way you can judge other teams against them because they are doing something totally different that you can’t possibly compare in the same way to everyone else’

Above all- (if I were to try) comparing TS to every other team I’ve ever watched (and while I may not have watched every other team to the in depth level of TS, I have watched multiple.. top 10 vm era teams multiple times) TS dance where as every other team I feel simply skates. I don’t feel any other team has the inherent connection to music or movement that takes it from skating, to dancing, to art. No other teams (maybe TD exempted, but since VM) have pushed past the requirements of their sport in the way TS did. I don’t know how many on here have the unique vantage of viewing purely from the perspective of ‘dance’ rather than skating or even laymen who just enjoy the sport. Dance is a sport, it its athletic and requires you to be strong, flexible, determined, creative and hard working. All teams competing at this level are no doubt skilled and talented and work hard, and many have been waiting for the opportunity to win/medal a worlds title, but the fact that one of them this year will imo is not because they are the standard deserving of it, its just in their field there is no one better. For people who were there through VM’s career or even those who came along after and dived into their skating and the environment around them, i think.. i feel it must me hard to accept the sport has changed and maybe not for the better in that the skill level and overall boundary pushing has clearly dropped. I feel that way both athletically and artistically. For those who are able to happily watch current ice dancing and enjoy it for what it is, that’s great, i don’t necessarily wish i could because i never really cared about the sport to begin with (but i’ve enjoyed learning about it and it’s history) Being able to accept the current standard as world title worthy is not something I’m personally able to do. If 10 is the level of VM’s performance and chemistry than no team would achieve anything close to 10, but 10 is not defined by a other team, its defined by whatever the ISU has made up (or paid to say is) worthy of 10. I understand the sport doesn’t and can’t work like this, but it makes it hard for me to watch it knowing there has been so much better.. and forget ‘better’, that i just feel more connected to as a viewer. Its not to say there won’t be a team that comes along, but right now there isn’t and theres a lot of factors contributing to that beyond any specific team.

I know someone will probably say ‘how are you able to say you don’t think a team is deserving when you haven’t watched them closely’, which.. fair. im probably not. I don’t actively seek out current skating to watch.. I watched CanNats.. wasn’t impressed.. but I see results just coz the IG algorithm gives them to me, clips of performances etc.. also and I’m not ashamed to admit this, I am biased to VM, and I’m fine with that because in what way will me quietly loving them affect anything in this world?? I have watched plenty of these teams (that competed with VM) many times from previous years, the Beijing olys, and when I occasionally read something current on here it seems clear there’s are others who feel the standard has dropped too.. but that’s not everyone’s opinion.

I don’t know how many teams have or are actively striving to extend their legacy beyond the boards of skating rink through what they perform in a skating rink- hell i don’t even think VM necessarily strived for that, i don’t think they had some big grand plan and they will tell you they didn’t but simply through their own desire to push themselves, they achieved this. I don’t think anyone should or need to achieve this but the fact is VM did, they were the special two that did. I often go back to my love for the Beatles and how J+P’s story is similar to VM- a random meeting of two people who happened to have what it took through passion, hard work, a favourable set of circumstances that lead to achieving a level of greatness that no one else in their industry will… for a very long time at least. They changed their field of art for the better, but it didn’t necessarily stay that way.. the music industry has gone to shit (through tech/manufactured ‘artists’) the skating world has dropped (ISU not doing their fucking jobs, certain coaches/countries doping etc.. different things affecting different disciplines) VM rose in a period of relative stability and that was favourable to them. This chance meeting and stars aligning was the same with vm. They had the right personalities, dedication, etc and favourable timing and they inadvertently changed the sport in ways they didn’t even set out to. It just happened and it happened to them. Its kind of matter of natural selection..

I don’t know if I’m conscious to it or but I think I use the world ‘sport’ when I’m referring to the sport of ID and the rare times other teams as SPORT and when referring to TS I say art or dance is because they have completely bridged that divide and have become artists that can’t be simply defined as skaters because they were just that extraordinary. I don’t watch them and think about edges or judging or elements because they are so much more than that, all those things are irrelevant when you watch them because it’s so much… more than that (idk how else to put it).

That thing I said about being very scrutinising of TS when I first watched them, well only because a) I fell in love with them as people let alone dancers and b) I have watched them so much and realised this essence they have and appreciation for what they do, I have remained scrutinising about the rest of the sport because no other team, and for that matter very few skaters in general (sui/han, Yuna, yuzu, Misha Ge, Jason brown, Carolina, Patrick to an extent) have ever made me forget about scrutinising and just watch and enjoy what they do.

I was gonna put out a request for this before I did this but since it’s kinda on the topic of this ask I’ll do it now.

My opinions on (again, roughly top 10 of VM’s era) ID teams (prefacing this by warning this will be critical and as said above I am critical of this sport and I am biased to VM, however as you yourself admit TS set such a high standard). I have more personal opinions on some of these teams/skaters that I don’t feel appropriate to share to their full extent because I can admit to myself they are unwarranted to have in the first place since I don’t know them as people and can only judge the character that I see.

Also.. this is weird and it won’t make sense to anyone, but for me having grown up in competitive dance, I watch a lot of ID teams and associate them with ‘styles’ of various dance studios I used to compete against. Not dance styles (eg ballet or hip hop) but studio styles. Eg, ‘Shibs are very JGSOD and CB are very iDance’.. those studios names won’t make any sense to any of you but I just thought I’d mention that’s a weird way I watch ID teams, and highlights the fact that TS I don’t relate to any one style or school or company in the dance world I have ever seen before because their style is simply THEM.

D/W: Cleary consistent. Work well together having skated for so long. I do not like their style, I don’t feel they have any connection, it just feels like two people skating, they skate well, but no emotional connection that comes from an honest place, only performative. (I haven’t watched a lot of programs of theirs) but through their movement I sense a lack of creativity, it’s very clean, cookie cutter, but they don’t take artistic risks. I’ve seen many other posts highlighting their addiction to war horsy programs that are relatively safe themes and don’t challenge the judges or audience.

P/C: simply jumped on the popularity of the moody, melodramatic contemporary style taking over the competitive dance world, found that it worked and stuck with it, rose to prominace in an unchallenged field- no team still competing from the VM/DW era was able to step up to fill the void. (+French Fed/didier). PC’s style and a lax of ISU technical scrutiny somewhat leading to the simplification and lack of innovation in ice dance. I watched the Beijing olys and while there were teams not doing this style, both athletic ability and dominance/favourably from judges of the themeless contemporary style prevented anyone from breaking through as a team with a vision and will have to try and make their mark in the current quad. And you know what.. I partly put some of the blame for this on IAM.. all their teams post VM kinda blended into one for me without any of them standing out with their own personalities.. (again- not basing this purely on programs because I haven’t watched all of them, but just a general observation because I’ve have seen this happen in the dance world I’ve come from). It is inevitable when you have 20 some odd ‘top’ teams all trained by the same people, it takes individuality and desire to differ yourself (VM) to stand out in this environment and actually succeeding in doing so often comes down to rare, raw talent (again this is subjective so just because i don’t view a team as being capable of this doesn’t mean other’s don’t). I don’t know PC personally obviously but certain instances have made question and therefore dislike their character as competitors: ‘we were hoping, praying for TS to mess up and when they didnt we were like ‘shit’, ‘we only lost PYC coz of the costume (which was her fault) and deserved to win if not for that’, ‘knowing they would win Beijing because they were unchallenged and that gold was the one they deserved from 4 years ago’ ‘not challenging themselves or the sport, yes creating their own distinct style but eventually they will be forgotten when the style becomes obsolete’. They are good, but not anywhere near VM and the fact they think they are (just from what I gather from their character, esp her) makes me dislike them. VM never thought they were holier than thou, when told they are the goats they reference T/D. yes they spoke out when they felt they weren’t scored fairly but other times when they clearly were (cough Sochi) they didn’t and maintained they were beaten fair and square. It’s not just about athletic talent, it’s also about character bc good, kind character comes through in performances as honest and genuine.

Shibs: technically clean, did the essentially the exact same program for 3 seasons (coldplay, after the rain (16/17) and coldplay again) in the same costume just different colours. Did not have one lift that was attractive or that stands out as innovative or something you’ll remember. Some people are fine with the sibling team thing and others aren’t. Generally I’m not really a fan of it (i agree with T i think its kind of odd) but if a team can convince me otherwise I’m fine with it. Cathy and Chris reed I thought were fine, Z/Z from Israel I thought were fine, the Kerrs creep me out.. Alex and Maia were clearly the best of the sibling teams of this era but to me they just looked like 10-13 year old siblings at a recital and never broke out of that visual for me.

WeaPo: I’ve never liked them as skaters, as people they seem lovely. They are team that clearly improved A LOT- 20 something at worlds when VM were 6th, 17th (I think) the following year when VM were second (yes they had only just paired up and TS had been together 11 years). Even improvement between like 2012ish and 2017ish you can tell. They obviously became a top team deserving of placements but were still farrrr behind TS the whole time and were fortunate in VM stepping away for 2 years allowing them to win titles they wouldn’t have otherwise. I find them quite awkward, obviously Andrew is very tall so he needs a tall partner, but K seems not quite tall enough. None of their programs stand out to me. The best for me are probs their 2014 olys FD and their 2018 olys latin was ok- bit different to rest of the field. I’ve never connected to them emotionally, I find their performances quite forced and un balanced, K going for it too hard and Andrew not knowing where the hell she is emotionally and kinda just has one look on his face dependent on the tempo (brooding for anything slow/dramatic)

Bock:……. Meehhhh.. i just don’t feel anything for them, they have very plastic expressions. It feels like when you are teaching little kids dances to perform and you say ‘smile here’ ‘ok be sad here’. It’s like their emotions have been choreographed for them. I keep forgetting they are actually a couple because you wouldn’t guess it watching them skate. On a skating level I’m not knowledgeable enough to say how specifically they improved. Energy and performance wise i see very little difference between 2014, 2018, 2022. Sometimes i think they are capable of more than i think ‘no they really aren’t’. No doubt they are one of the top teams now, but that is because the standard (party as a result of ISU rules) has gone down the drain. In almost any other field they would not be considered world champ material, and in this field i don’t consider that either, but i don’t consider anyone particularly deserving of a ‘World Champions’ title. (I really hope they win just so gilorier don’t because that I can’t will struggle to live with). Sometimes its who you don’t have to beat. PC were able to (somehow) rise because VM + DW were gone, W/P got some titles they other wise wouldn’t have gotten, its like if you took the top 50 tennis players out of a grand slam, it would be way easier for a lower ranked/skilled player to win. They are just kinda forgettable to me (same with G/F, LoLo/Nik).

Gilorier: ughhh.. they remind me of Ken and Barbie when the skate/perform.. 10x more plastic than C/B.. i don’t think I’ve ever seen paul move his spine/neck/have a genuine/natural expression. As someone who actually has 3 metal rods in their back i think i can bend and express more than he does. They try so hard to be so creative and different with their programs (this seems like a carol thing since @ otherteams) it becomes hard to watch. I actually kind of liked their James Bond dance, but the plastic expressions kind of suited that. Their themes cover up for their.. average (until recently maybe- I’m judging them in the VM era) skating skills (idk, someone who knows more tell me if their skating skills are good). I see them as the ‘gimmick’ team. You don’t have to be sooo outrageous, its distracting. I adore TS always with the view that they want their costumes to be minimal and not distract.. we’ll its easy not to notice the actual skating when you’ve been blinded by tangerine jumpsuits.. it was like looking at an eclipse. Also them being the top Canadian team right now is even harder. .esp watching the Beijing olys and VM saying they were the best medal hope out of literally every discipline.. like im sorry my bbys your legacy and the 2018 team’s legacy could not be passed on. (thats a whole other subject)

H/D: I’m nervous about this one bc a lot seemed to love them… but i honestly don’t get it. They were great skaters by the end, no doubt the strongest and should not have been so far behind PC in any way shape or form.. but thats where my praise kinda ends.. im gonna be honest here because i don’t know how to say it nicer.. Zach seems like a complete douch.. i already said it on that post everyone is angry at me for.. it was sooooooooooooo freaking obvious he was obsessed with Scott and tried to be like Scott. Its great Scott had such a positive impact on other male skaters and so many looked up to him.. but Zach was just trying soooooo hard to be like him. When i reference TS being so soft and caring of each other in public- on ice during warm ups, and in the past I’ve referenced other teams ‘trying’ to be like this.. Zach is who im referring to. it was not soft, it was creepy.. It just looked so fake, from both of them (hd) for that matter, Trying so hard to convince the audience of a connection. i don’t know where people saw the chemistry in them because i never did. They always skated really angry (like with an angry, frantic energy) very ‘commercial’ style- music video style with the low angle steady cam all in your face. I think they think they thought they were connecting and performing to each other but to me it often looked like they were conflicted whether to perform to the audience or each other and neither quite worked. TS have this thing where they find each others eyes like magnets, HD seemed to have to try so hard to find each other’s eyes. So often they lost that connection and focus. Every team has less then perfect performances but they were an inherently flop team for so long. They definitely deserved their medal in 2022, probably one higher than bronze for that matter, but i didn’t like their programs. Obviously i don’t know them, they are probably great people, but i just am not attracted to them. The little bit of that oly channel series on IAM that i watched, one part was just them yelling at each other in front of Scott and im sitting their watching like ummmmmmm… (whatever works for them but christ can u even imagine TS talking to each other like that???) And then yeah the ‘STAT. LIFT BASE!’ I mean the commentary in the K+C.. ‘just give us +5’ i HATE that kind of cocky confidence (same as PC) Scott could at least admit he was cocky and improved and changed his demeanour so much as he matured into a truly beautiful artist and person.. but i never saw him acting like he and Tess were the best thing since sliced bread- egging on a high score for a sub-par performance, let alone an amazing one in the k+c. Character has a lot to do with it.

Others: B/S- fine nothing amazing i liked their later FDs but never loved them. C/L: cute.. gonna sound hypocritical here but they really suited the traditional, operatic, period, Italian folk vibe really well and whenever they departed from that they lost it for me. The lifts were always very hijinxy- often unnecessarily so, theres innovation then theres tricks for the sake of tricks- thats a delicate balance. Im glad they won a worlds and euros but with VM back in the field sort of 4th/5th/6th is fairly where their skill kept them. StepBuk: (why not let’s throw them in) they probably had the most genuine connection of any other team around this time. I understand they had been together since kids so that helps, but as I said the other day.. it’s the quality of TS relationship that makes them so much more believable as being in love.. fuck it just caring about each other and seeing that through their dancing. DW I didn’t get that feeling/PC i definitely didn’t.. so it’s not just being together so long and using that to an advantage.. you have to work for it (not to say others haven’t but we’ve been over this TS prioritised it every fucking day). All the other top teams in VM’s early senior career were good for the time but as VM (and DW) overtook them the skill, performance and overall talent gap became obvious; B/A, D/S, F/S, P/B etc..

I don’t understand where the argument comes in that you have to love and appreciate all teams… why do I have to randomly praise teams I don’t like? I’m not actively trashing them (like some people do on here and have done to VM) I just don’t think they are that good and I said so like.. once or twice out of how many posts on here..

I don’t love skating- I learned about it through VM. I was critical of it before discovering them, I’m critical of it now. When VM do something I don’t love I will say so. It’s hard to love and appreciate a sport when there’s only really one team/person you are invested in. I have lots of opinions about other teams and the sport in general, some might be valid, some not, none of my opinions are gonna change the sport for good or bad.. my opinion on vm or any team takes nothing away from what said team has and will achieve whether I agree with the result or not. That’s literally the extent of my thoughts on the subject..

I know anon you aren’t saying this but others have, who is anyone to criticise someone else for loving something? Why do people have to criticise why I love VM, or what part of them I admire. I know I said I don’t get why people like HD but I wouldn’t go so far to call someone out on it personally. Each to their own. There is room for everyone, but not everyone is equal in a field where some are just better.

okay. i think im far enough removed from last night to like actually voice my thoughts on this movie. oppenheimer spoilers ahead lol!

in all i think its a fantastic film. like its a ridiculously well made and well thought out movie technically and structurally. granted i didn’t expect anything less, but it was nice to see and confirm lol. i will say though that it wasn’t necessarily the movie i was expecting.

Going in, i thought it would be a kind of drawn out movie all about the trinity test, and like, the leadup to the trinity test. That’s kinda how its portrayed in the trailer, and that is certainly Not what the movie is. It’s not even how it’s framed at all. The trinity test is like a necessary detour for the actual framing of the movie, which is the hearing for oppenheimer’s security clearance in 1954, and the cabinet confirmation of lewis strauss. A lot of the discussion of the movie just kind of assumes that it only focuses on the trinity test and the actual creation of the atomic bomb, so i just assumed that too. It is at its core a biopic and in hindsight it’s hard to believe i ever doubted that. Now that i recognize that my thoughts definitely shifted.

I will say, the first 45 minutes or so are a fucking whirlwind. Theres barely a second to breathe. In the moment i thought this was a serious flaw, but now after seeing the whole film it was for sure a structural choice. That whirlwind aspect of the first section is not the rule for the entire film, and i didn’t have any similar qualms throughout the rest of the movie. But god, there were so many scenes back to back to back that barely let the dialogue and emotions sit for even a moment, that i thought it was a byproduct of the 3 hour runtime. Looking back, it was just a way to show the whirlwind nature of oppenheimer’s life at the time. Did i enjoy that in the moment? no. i recognize why they did it though, and i like it conceptually. in practice it just made me so confused. which leads me to my next point

this movie is so fucking confusing in ways that are probably just a skill issue. Like dont get me wrong, the plot itself isn’t that confusing. Did it take me a minute to realize? yes. But after that it wasn’t that difficult to follow. what made the movie so confusing to me was the sheer size of the cast of characters. There are so many white men in this movie. Like so many. And they are all treated as important. and i could not remember any of their names. And frequently their names are brought up in reference to eachother without any connection to their faces. I’m sure if you’re deeply familiar with oppenheimer and the other scientists involved on the manhattan project that wouldn’t have been an issue, but for me? i had no clue who the hell they were talking about half the time. in a similar vein, i miss subtitles. i tried so hard to catch all of the dialogue but sometimes i just couldn’t do it. like at the end of the movie, arguably the most important line of the whole film, i just didn’t understand what he said. I had to google it afterwards. Are these skill issues? yes. but they made the film harder to watch so im mentioning them.

now do i think this movie glorifies oppenheimer? yes. but only in the way that no matter how you slice it, making a movie centered around one man and his worldview is inherently glorifying. What the movie glorifies is oppenheimer’s intelligence and opinions (and even then to an extent), not his actions. this film is critical of the use of the atomic bomb. it’s critical of the actions of the united states. there are plenty of scenes where you stare in horror at the thoughts and feelings of the us government and how it manifests. that scene alone with president truman and oppenheimer made me sick to my stomach. but oppenheimer is portrayed as a genius overall. he is portrayed as right in his feelings and emotions, complicated and messy as they are. It’s hard to say what exactly about oppenheimer they do glorify since oppenheimer himself is kind of all over the place in his opinions in the first place. but strauss is shown as an evil man for holding a grudge against oppenheimer, and that’s the truth.

i think thematically it did right. i enjoyed it overall. but i can very easily see this movie have a similar reception to american psycho, as those who focused on the objective and meaning of the film will understand its thematic elements, and those who simply watched it without considering any of that will form a black and white opinion on oppenheimer himself. Patrick bateman bros who think they’re just like him are gonna do the same thing to oppenheimer. that’s a fact. the problem is though that instead of a fictional psychopath we’re discussing a historical figure who is, in some ways, responsible for the death of hundreds upon thousands of people. the discourse surrounding this film will become legendary. the film bro “pretty fly for a white guy” edit needs to be redone with this movie included in it. i am excited to see its inevitable creation.

ANYWAYS. outside of that it’s a really good movie. i liked how they shot strauss’s perspective in black and white and oppenheimer’s in color. i liked the sound design (overwhelming as it was at times). i like how it played with the background when oppenheimer was spiraling in his thoughts. i thought that the trinity test scene was one of the most jaw dropping things i’ve ever witnessed in a theater. that scene of oppenheimer after the test giving his little speech is gonna stick with me for the rest of my life. ludwig goransson’s score is spectacular as it always is. its a very good film.

OH. theres also like. 5 women in this movie. 3 of them have been fucked by oppenheimer. one is his sister in law. one is a scientist. thats pretty much it. and 3 of those 5 have combined maybe 2 minutes of screentime. the other two (florence pugh and emily blunt) are more integral. Kitty oppenheimer is going to get a skylar white esque reaction from the general population but that’s okay because i loved her. she’s my everything.

theres probably more to say about this film (the way it uses oppenheimer’s jewish heritage, the shorlisting of the natives of los alamos (who had 2 mentions the entire film and one of which was by presdient truman btw)) but i dont have the understanding to dive into that. other people could handle it better. so i think that’s it for me.

THAT BEING SAID, if i see one more barbenheimmer joke im gonna start punching walls. its distasteful. not just because neither of those films deserve to be condensed and packaged into neat little memes but also because you people can’t be normal about it. i swear to god. nobody gives a shit that you think the barbie movie is this grand incredible film that needs to be taken seriously and that oppenheimer is also good too. shut up. we get it. greta gerwig is a good filmmaker that isnt news, and if you thought it was, brother i believe you are the problem.

Anyway Mr. Dude doesn't believe that bi men make up a huge proportion of the male sports fanbase. But if you actually follow sports and sports content creators, a lot of them are bi men. Not the kind of bi men who call themselves bi out loud and wave pride flags around. Just the kind that express their casual attraction to men. That's actually acceptable in sports bro culture. As long as you follow all the rules of straight male socialization, you can be attracted to men.

This youtube channel is the most popular sports content creator. He narrates a lot of little mix-ups and funny sports moments, especially for baseball. If he's narrating a situation with an attractive player, he'll say "ah he looks great!" or "lookin cute." He doesn't say it in a "no homo" way. He's just narrating the situations and saying whatever comes to mind.

The male sports environment is too homophobic for gay male or bi male athletes to be out. But the fan industry, the posters and tickets and memorabilia, that's supported by a lot of bi men. Most bi men are perfectly content in straight communities and don't see a need for anything else. They just also happen to be rabid fans of men's sports. I'm not sure they'd be comfortable if every gay and bi male athlete came out. If that happened, people might side-eye their sports fan hobby. There's certainly a don't ask don't tell code among professional male athletes. That's part of the culture and I don't believe fans want that culture to change.

Thank you for the question! sorry for not replying earlier, been down with a cold for a couple of days.

i think listening to your senses and honing them, all the time, but especially in nature. listening to the sound of the forest, the feel of the ground beneath your feet, the smells, tastes and the feeling in your gut. i believe the gut feeling is a direct link with the source, and one should grow that feeling in a society that says to subdue it.

Spending time in nature, especially barefoot/touching nature with you bare skin is something i view as very important to stay connected. i very much believe in earthing/grounding and the health and spiritual benefits that comes with it. feel the energy flow enter and leave you, you really feel it tingle if you focus on it. i think wearing rubber soled shoes and polyester plastic clothing isolated us and keeps the energy from flowing freely. wearing more natural fibers keeps your vibrations high. and even when spending time in a city i try to ground myself, touching trees etc to stay connected to the earth.

spending time with nature is also very important for me visually. looking at how everything is made perfectly and grows according to perfect mathematical equations is the perfect example of how god/creator/mother earth creates everything with perfection. everything flows as it should. even just a plant gowing in your windowsil is a perfect creation to be admired. staying as much away from modern square buildings, esp glass buildings as possible, those are really harmful for your souls. and if you are in a place where there isnt a lot of nature around, spending time in old traditional buildings and especially religious ones can be a really good substitute. even if you arent following that specific religion, the buildings are constructed with healing mathematical formulas that affects your body in a very positive way.

listening is also very important to me. listening to the ambiance of the forest, or even putting my ear up the the trunk of a tree and listen. a lot of things are told without words and they have a lot of wise things to teach. especially the big old oaks have seen a lot.

for me its the forests that i feel the most connected to, but for you it might be the mountains, beach, prairie etc.

also doing nice things for nature. picking up litter, removing invasive plants, giving offering etc. after doing those things i often feel a warm presence when im in nature, like someone thanking me. i also tend to feel lucky the next couple of days, like the universe is working in my favour. talking to the small folk/nature/ancestors also works, as long as you are repectful about it and dont nag them too much. you can ask for quite a lot and you will receive it, as long as you give a lot in return i've experienced.

so id say, listening to your body and staying grounded is one of the most important things for staying connected with the earth. we are a microcosmos, as above so below, the better one is at listening to oneself, the better one will hear the whispers of nature. especially for women, learning to listen to our body's cycle in a society that doesn't take that into consideration at all is super important. not hating any stage of it, but recognising how incredible it is, even if it feels uncomfortable. i've found that a lot of my bodies struggles have eased once i started listening to it and worked with it instead of against it, which later has translated to all areas of life. this also certainly goes for men as well.

also trusting yourself and what you believe in. you can pick as chose what you want to follow and focus on, dont feel like you have to follow all the rules for any religion/lifestyle etc. you know yourself best and what works for you. borrowing and learning from all kinds of different people is okay.

I just dont get why some people get so pissed over other people breaking dnd to play it

Like, if you have a friend constantly complaining about their campaign and how its sluggish and overly complex because of all the rules they homebrewed into it, but they wont listen to your specific recommendation of a different ttrpg, i can understand you getting annoyed

But, when someone, especially a stranger on the internet, says "hey, i made this change to my dnd campaign and we are gonna see how it works for our table" why is that such a problem? It's literally got nothing to do with you or your table, it's their game

Saying "hey, there's actually a system that does that much easier" is one thing, but saying "god people just refuse to look outside of dnd and it makes me so mad" is very different!

Yes, i am complaining about people complaining. Such is to being human.

Idk it just certainly doesnt make me want to explore any other system, lmfao. In fact it makes me want to less, out of spite.

Ps. I get telling other people who are NEW to dnd and really intimidated by it to check out other systems. I KNOW there are people who cant wrap their minds around dnd... but that doesn't necessarily make it bad, it just makes it not-for-everyone.
