Season 15 - Spoilers and Speculation

OKAY HI EVERYBODY GUESS WHO HAS BEEN SCREAMING OVER ON TWITTER FOR HALF AN HOUR!

There I was happily trying to watch the Great British Bake Off as you do, and my notifications start blowing up because someone decided to go write a ridiculous spoilery article about season 15 in the TV Guide magazine and all the good and terrible things we have to look forward too! So I promised I would attempt some sort of time line of spoilers and events so that we can jumble together some expectations (and some yummy speculation) about the upcoming season!

Episode 1 - we know that Cas is in this episode as Misha was filming. We know that Alex was also filming though potentially either as a corpse, or as a manifestation of someones guilt/hallucination (these are theories not confirmed). Other than this we know that Jack “won’t be coming back from the Empty for a while now” and hasn’t been seen filming since. (source)

Episodes 2 and 3 - The main spoilers of relevance are that Dean and Cas are still not okay with each other. There is tension between them and they won’t be okay for a while (sources on this are from SDCC and well, everywhere, unless you’ve actually been living under a rock all summer).

Now today we got this spoiler:

“Theres a scene we shot recently that really got to me. Cas decides he’s going away for a while. And it wasn’t necessarily a goodbye, but it felt like that to me.”

“God becoming his primary enemy bent on destroying everything he cares about is a really difficult transition for Cas to go through” as a result, after a few episodes of chaos, Cas gets fed up and takes a personal time-out before returning to the action, or as Collins puts it, “He leaves in a huff.”

So we have been speculating that this likely takes place in episode 3 following some big dramatic showdown. Cas leaves because he just can’t deal with everything that is happening. Poor angel has lost his son, found out his father is basically enemy number 1, and he has lost the one person he cares about most in the universe (honestly I just don’t see Sam falling out with Cas here because those two are TIGHT but Sam’s friendship alone won’t be enough to make Cas stay - it’s the DeanCas tension that all the PR has been going on about lately).

So then we have two Cas free episodes with 4 and 5 (and I love that there was early speculation following a pic that Jensen posted that Dean might have a beard in episode 4 because OMG GRIEF BEARD OVER LOSING CAS HELLO YES PLEASE GIMME THIS!)

Episode 6 set spoilers show Jared and Misha filmed together, whereas there were very few Jensen sightings. We can therefore speculate that Sam reaches out to Cas because he is fed up of his brothers sulking? Or maybe Cas finds a hunt and calls Sam because he’s still mad at his husband. Or well, anything along these lines. If Dean and Cas don’t reunite in episode 6, then that makes for a very interesting timeline with episode 7. Which is looking to be EPIC.

We have received quite a few spoilers for episode 7 so far. We know that Christian Kane is going to be playing an “old friend” of Dean’s from his past (who it appears Sam doesn’t know, or at least isn’t involved with). We know there will be a fight scene which “the fans will love” whatever that means, and we know that they filmed at “Swayze’s bar”. [Twitter Source]

We also now know that Jensen will be singing in this episode and that Dean and Leo have a “wild night” together where Dean will “recapture his mojo” [Twitter Source]

So Dean was down on his mojo eh Dabb? This is starting to sound a bit like early season 13. Dean clearly doesn’t take too well to Cas leaving him in episode 3. >.>

Now I am convinced that no matter what happens in episode 7, the homoerotic tension is gonna be EXTREME, but please allow me to go full clown mode here for a second

*HERE BE SPECULATION FOLKS - JUST SOLID CLOWN FACED SPECULATION*

If this episode does indeed go down the route of Leo being an ex boyfriend, if something DOES happen between Dean and Leo beyond just bros being bros, then we have a legit coming out episode here following a huge bust up with his actual husband that somehow ends with Dean getting his mojo back. This episode, like every Dean focused episode, usually ends up with Dean getting some big realisation. Dean growing a little bit more, and the audience learning something new about him. Whatever goes down, we are now in a prime position for a DeanCas reunion either by episode end or in episode 8.

IF in episode 8 Dean is able to reconcile with Cas in someway, but because some other horrible shit goes down (which based on latest spoilers could potentially be an Adam/OG!Michael return/Cage breakout of hell nightmare) plus since episode 8 is a Bucklemming episode meaning it will be overly jam packed with plot stuff so a potential Jack return plus Empty entity in this one too - then...

*deep breath*

The time line fits.

Episode 8 plot filled mayhem interrupts a true DeanCas make up scene but we get at least some reveal that Dean wants to have a “conversation” with Cas, then imagine if following the episode 8 drama Jack returns. Imagine if we get a midseason finale in episode 9 where for at least a small part of the episode it looks like the family is back together? Following all the angst and separation of the early season we are right back to where we were during the midseason finale of season 14 - TFW2.0 together again and fighting side by side. Enough to bring some joy to our poor angels otherwise broken heart?

Imagine if though, when all is said and done, right after the boys think they have a win, Dean gets his moment. The show has already given us his coming out ep. He has already realised what it is he truly wants, now he finally gets the chance to reach out and grasp for it...

But when he does it’s a moment too late. It’s time to pay up. Cas gets his moment of true happiness - and the Empty takes him. Midseason finale ends with a horrified Dean having just laid his heart on his sleeve, and a dead Castiel at his feet.

I absolutely can't get enough of you analysis and I was wondering if you could do one of cloud and tifa after the plate fell and after barret hugged tifa? when sephiroth visits cloud again. like how'd that have been from tifa's perspective too?

Sorry this took a while to get to, Nonny. I would've had it done yesterday, but instead I wasted my time banging my head against a brick wall. Lesson learned lol

Ok, spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be reasonably long.

Also, this is one person’s interpretation of the scene, so if you disagree that’s cool and we’ll agree to disagree.

You’re also gonna have to excuse the janky quality on some of the screens, I’m grabbing them from Youtube and it’s frustrating af trying to get the exact moment I want.

Recap time!

The sky has fallen and our brave failures have escaped by the skin of their teeth! Cloud watches over Tifa until she wakes up, then follows her until they locate Barret.

AH MY HEART! Cloud's so adorably concerned for Tifa. (also far too goddamn pretty! Someone shove mud in his face or something I can't stand it!)

Who knows how long he's been waiting for her to wake up. There's a couple of times it looks like he wants to reach for her – there's a definite twitch in her direction with his left hand – and then as she goes to get up, he takes her hand to her help her. Someone remind me, how often does Cloud offer Tifa his hand? A lot? Yeah, that's what I thought.

It's a very demoralised journey through the rubble to find Barret.

Well, I was aiming for a screen showing him punching the wall, but this is better. His rage and grief burst out. He's punching the wall with his actual hand and not shooting at it with the gun. This is because he wants to feel physical pain to dull the stronger emotional pain. Those were his friends. He should've stopped it. You can hear him sob Marlene's name once that rage is spent. He thinks they're all dead, including his innocent little girl. It's a powerful moment for his character.

Here's a hint of a grief stricken Cloud too. He cared about the trio. He wanted to save them. Nobody had to offer payment for his services. He tried to be the hero and failed. He doesn't know how to handle these emotions or how to comfort anyone either.

Tifa blaming herself is typical for her character. She puts a lot on her shoulders and keeps her feelings locked up tight. She sees the situation from the pov that if they hadn't blown up the reactors then Shinra wouldn't have dropped the plate. Barret sees it as, if Shinra weren't destroying the planet then they wouldn't need to blow up reactors. It's a pointless back and forth, round and round with no true winner. They have different povs, morals and principles and that's why Tifa just agrees with him in the end. Why argue on top of everything else that's just happened?

Tifa is very much the peacemaker, who doesn't want people to get into unnecessary fights. She'd rather back down than fight if there's a possibility of another choice. She says this in chapter 3 with her “I know we have to make a difference, but not like this.” And to the Shinra manager she says “I don't want anyone to die”

She's a goddamn sweetheart who can pack a punch, but doesn't need to rely on her fists first.

This is why later on with Elmyra, she stops Cloud from arguing to go get Aerith. It's not that she doesn't care. It's that she doesn't see the point in forcing your opinion on someone. By giving Elmyra time to think through their side of things she's letting the situation settle and everyone can approach it calmly and rationally. Which is exactly what happens. Elmyra had time to think and agreed with them. Because of Tifa. Because she’s the mature one.

The real!Cloud hand twitch lol we know what this means and I think I've already mentioned is plenty of times in other analyses.

Barret and Tifa's body language here is very placid, not romantic in any sense of the word. Her body is turned to the side and he has one arm around her shoulder. He's not got his head tilted down towards her and hers isn't tilted up at him either. Her arms are by her sides. This is minimum contact and barely qualifies as a hug. It's perfunctory comfort between friends. What it does is motivate Cloud – who harbours romantic feelings – towards the urge to comfort Tifa in the same way. He wants her to rely and find solace with him. Because his feelings are driven by romantic urges the way he comforts her is different.

And we're on our way to Aerith's house, where Cloud suspects Marlene is. Barret's highly emotional – shocker – and begs Cloud for hope, then admits it doesn't matter what he says he'd get mad. Cloud accepts this with a bland face, what else is there to say? He can't admit he might be wrong, but he can't say with all certainty that he's right.

He asks Tifa about the Ancients and then we get a visit from Sephiroth.

So after we see a future flashback of OG Sephiroth talking about the Ancients like before, Cloud gives us a blurry 1st person view and pan up of Sephiroth. Now, this one is a vision that only he sees, but that really doesn't matter to him. He sees that creepy ex-boyfriend stalker smile and freaks tf out. You can hear him whimper.

So, we don't get much of the scene from Tifa's pov. She's noticed Cloud freeze, probably heard that whimper. She's definitely concerned – you can see her frown just before we move back to Cloud – but she's unsure what to do about it. She's not a doctor after all. She has no idea if the right thing to do is insist on talking to Cloud about it, or pretend it didn't happen. She has to take his lead, which is to forget about it.

“Through suffering you will grow strong. Isn't that what you want?”

Cloud's a sweaty mess of fear at this minute, but you can still see this question on his face and his answer that no he doesn't want to suffer. The part of him that's real!Cloud definitely doesn't want to suffer, but it's too scared to do anything.

I find the possibility of this being a different aspect of Cloud's personality interesting. It's a vision, after all. So while we have real!Cloud in chapter 8 trying to encourage himself and repair the broken parts, we have this Sephiroth aspect that wants Cloud to remain broken and afraid. It's a good metaphor for how Cloud tackles his mental illness, and of the 4 different Sephiroths, the hallucination is the one that speaks the most and talks about Cloud as a person. It's the one that tells him to run away in chapter 2. It's the one that calls him a failure. It's the one that murders Tifa.

It's a manifestation of his mental illness. Not totally because there's more happening than just that, but of the 4 Sephiroths we see, this one is the one that causes Cloud to freeze the most. This one is the one he's terrified of more than the rest. The one that's not actually there.

I had to choose between this and Cloud looking terrified, but this one has Tifa edging into the frame with a concerned look on her face. Cloud's lost in his own head, probably overthinking everything Sephiroth just said to him. He dismisses Tifa again – remember, he doesn't want her to have a bad opinion of him, so he's pretending to be ok as usual. A lot of his reluctance to confide in her is his fear of her being disappointed in him. A lot of Tifa’s reluctance comes down to the aforementioned need to avoid confrontation. She doesn’t want to fight. If Cloud refuses to talk, she’ll respect that. She’s not pushy.

Conclusion.

Tifa and Barret have known each other for 5 years, give or take, but Barret doesn't even know the story of Nibelheim because Tifa keeps emotional things to herself. The way she's struggling to contain herself is mistaken by him as anger. It's not anger. It's self-blame. And because Cloud understands Tifa better than Barret – despite them having been apart for years – his real self has the urge to comfort her. He doesn't know how because he lacks social skills and emotional maturity, but after seeing Barret's example he understands this is the way he wants to support her.

I just added my suspicions about this version of Sephiroth to another post, so to sum that up, I think most of what he says is induced by Cloud's own feelings of failure and fear. The times Sephiroth shows up can be attributed to the connection Cloud has through Jenova, but the content of Sephiroth's speech comes across more like it's Cloud's inner self dragging him down. Sephiroth is the darkness within Cloud – the representation of his mental illness that won't ever become a memory, that's something he has to fight against every day. The fractured parts of Cloud's psyche aren't strong enough on their own, which is why the one in chapter 8 was chased away. It's only once they're reunited because of Tifa that Cloud becomes stronger overall to fight against his inner demons.

this week i got this idea. idk i like doing remake post version of things and such. then i checked to see if the ride was still open and apparently it closed in 2019 but not permanently??? but it didnt say when it’d reopen??? so im using my powers to have it be open in this future.

anyways, yeah it should all read familiar to the og piece cause i had it open and followed the path of that one.

Fort Edmonton II

Summer, 202X

“Hey, let’s go out,” Étienne lazily tells him one afternoon. The weather has finally let up and it seems like the rest of the day might actually be nice, if he’s to judge by the sun he can finally see. It had been a quiet day, considering Edward had arrived late last night and he’d gone to pick him up from the airport. They’d gone back to Étienne’s place, Edward had emptied out some of his suitcase, he had freshened up and then they’d ended up spending the rest of the evening catching up and reacquainting themselves with one another, before getting some shut eye in the early hours of the morning.

It’s a good thing there’s no real plan to their visits other than “spend time together” and “go out and see the sights” and “whatever the hell else we feel like.” Now, if anything, they have grown comfortable with the idea of spending time without having to do anything grand and it’s nice to know that just being together is fine and welcomed as well.

From his spot on the couch, Edward shifts and rearranges himself until he’s no longer resting on Étienne’s chest, but instead laying next to him. He cranes his head up to find green eyes silently observing him, amused and fond, as always. He still looks different without his glasses, but the look suits him and he supposes the same can be said about him.

“Where to?” Edward asks without really moving. There’s no urgency to this, he can tell. Étienne probably feels a little restless and the idea of stretching their legs sounds nice, but at the same time, it’s nice and cool here, in Étienne’s living room and outside is most likely hot and sticky. However, it is the afternoon, so maybe it won’t be as bad, he tries to tell himself, even though he knows better.

“You’ll see,” Étienne replies with an enigmatic smile, before he bounces off the sofa, laughing, as he makes his way to the washroom, to presumably shower and change. Edward hears the end of what sounds like “it’ll be fun” and gets an eyeful of Étienne’s back, before he groans and flops back into the vacant spot left by his boyfriend.

They take the métro and the ride is longer than usual, but not unpleasant. Edward pesters Étienne with questions as to where they’re going, until Étienne threatens to blindfold him if he doesn’t stop. Edward keeps quiet afterwards and figures he’ll piece it together once they get off at whatever stop. He’s endeared by Étienne’s buoyant childlike expression as they make their way to their destination and when they finally get off at Jean Drapeau, Edward still isn’t entirely sure where they’re going, even if it does narrow down some of Étienne’s usual go to places. He does wonder if Étienne doesn’t have any ulterior motives as to the place they’re going to, but he keeps the thought to himself as he follows his boyfriend to their destination.

Edward barely registers all of the information Étienne throws, as he speaks a mile a minute, mixing French and English as he normally does when he gets excited and exuberant. It’s nice to see him this animated and Edward does his best to keep up with him as they walk along the path. He gets the words “still open” and “a classic” and “fireworks” and leaves it at that.

It’s finally once they make it closer to the place that Edward realises they’re going to La Ronde and he can’t help but laugh. He hasn’t been here in ages and the place certainly brings back memories of previous trips of lifetimes ago. He thinks he’s in for an eclectic walk through the park and that Étienne will bring him from one ride to another as his fancy sees fit, but instead, Edward is surprised when Étienne heads in one specific location. He doesn’t pay much attention when Étienne takes his hand as it now feels like a natural thing for him to experience, but he is a little surprised when they make it to the ride.

Étienne comes to a stop in front of a rather older looking ride and grins large and wide at him, as if pleased with himself and his clever little plan of his; the proverbial cat that got the cream and such.

“Here we are!” He declares and steps out of the way so that Edward can get an eye full of his clever little scheme. Edward is – amused and touched somehow – when he sees the name of the ride. He’d recognised it earlier, but now that they’re standing in front of it, he wonders if Étienne is as aware of its significance as he is. (He’s sure he is. Edward has come to realise with time that everything Étienne does is calculated and that his boyfriend’s mind is a treasure throve of nostalgic memories.)

“Not quite the same as your original Fort Edmonton, but, it’ll have to do.” He adds, still grinning and Edward can’t help but laugh.

“Please, my own Fort Edmonton isn’t even fully original, so yes, it’ll have to do.” Edward quips as they step in the rather non-existent line to wait their turn. “Any particular reason you dragged me all the way here?”

Étienne shrugs, “Thought it’d be nice to come back and see it. I know it’s not the same as when we came here ages ago – it’s not even the same as during Expo, but – the view’s still nice.”

Edward nods at the comment and they both fall quiet for a moment.

“D’you ever look back on Expo and wonder if it wasn’t some mass hallucination brought on by some drug induced fever dream? Like – I was there, but whenever I look back I’m just like – no, that didn’t happen.”

Étienne laughs and leans closer to him for a moment, looking for support, before he teeter-totters over the railing, “My dear, I’m thoroughly convinced it was.”

They chuckle their way to the front of the line and get the next mini-rail all to themselves. Étienne has them sit up front, since it’s where they can get the best view, and pats the spot beside him. Edward follows him, before he takes his seat. It’s a shame this is only part of the original path the ride covered during Expo, but the scenery is still nice and the rhythmic movement of the old carts is soothing.

“Still the best seat in the house,” Étienne declares. Edward doesn’t offer any commentary to that and instead sits back to enjoy the proverbial ride. He smiles to himself when he feels his boyfriend’s hand on top of his own and spares him a glance that’s fond and loving. “It’s still the best seat to hold hands as well,” Étienne adds as he leans in close. Edward let’s him and agrees with the statement.

The mini-rail goes on its merry way, giving them a grand tour of the park. Edward troubles himself to take in the view and Étienne points out the interesting facts and changes in the landscape since the last time they’d done this, all the while holding on to his hand.

“I’ve gotta ask,” Edward interrupts some time later when they reach a clearing that gives them a good view of the city, “Why d’you name this after some part of – me – as opposed to any other place in Canada?” He’s always wondered, truth be told, but he never dared ask, afraid of what Étienne might tell him – that it would either be loaded or accidental. But now, he doesn’t care if Étienne tells him that he’d pulled the name out of a hat, or if it had meant something all along. They’re in a better place now and he knows how his boyfriend feels about him. He doesn’t need this to validate the time and energy he’s spent in this relationship anymore.

Étienne is quick with his answer; “It was the logical choice. You’ve always meant a lot to me – still do. It was my own way of honouring our friendship back then.”

It still manages to flummox him, despite everything and he supposes Étienne will always have that effect on him – will always find ways to surprise him, no matter how long they will know each other and he supposes that it’s one of the reasons he likes him. Still, his heart does a funny loop at that and it has nothing to do with the roller coasters that paint the backdrop of their little ride.

He turns back towards his boyfriend in time to see the setting sun reflect off his smiling face and the tableau steals his breath for a moment. The light gently bounces off Étienne’s glasses and highlights the auburn of his hair, while framing his face just so. For a second longer, Étienne is at peace with the world and Edward sees the pride Étienne has for his city. It’s breathtaking, in short, and there’s something unguarded about the expression on Étienne’s face that is always lovely to see. And finally, after all these years, it feels as though Étienne has put the last of his barriers down for good.

Edward lets go of Étienne’s hand and swings his arm around his shoulders, before his boyfriend can protest the absence of his hand. There’s no one else on the ride, but even so, and even though this type of outright display still isn’t his scene, he knows Étienne loves it. He makes an effort for Étienne every now and again and every time, he is rewarded with the prettiest of smiles that graces Étienne’s face.

And he has to admit that this, still, is the best view of the city.

I’m quite not sure but if I remember correctly, there was supposed to be a scene where Tifa was looking out of the window (from her house) looking at Cloud leaving Nib, and then Cloud looked back and made eye contact with Tifa. Apparently, the scene was scraped off 😕 I know it’s unlikely to happen but, if we ever see it in the remake during flashbacks (if the devs decides to put it in... just like what they intended to do back then), that would be *chefs kiss* 🥺

Hey anon.

I know @magicalchemist posted a screenshot of this scene in another post. I can’t find it. I am a hot mess when trying to find stuff on here.

They’ve already nodded to quite a few things that were cut from OG. The line Cloud says during the quick flashback in Chapter 2 calling out to his mother was supposed to be his lines during the Kalm flashback when you talked to the grunt, but it was removed. This was put in to Chapter 2 when Sephiroth causes you to have the hallucination.

Barret at one point was proposed as one of the many characters that were supposed to die initially. They nod to that in Chapter 17.

There’s a lot of deleted scenes from FFVII that thelifestream.net has covered. I think there’s 11 parts to it. The Unused Text Series

So do I think we will at least get a nod to it? Yes. I think either Tifa will say something to Aerith or Cloud will talk about leaving town during the flashback and not fully remember it and later on Tifa will reveal in the Lifestream that she watched him leave OR Cloud will remember making eye contact with her then...

I think we’ll see nods to a lot of deleted scenes in Remake. It seems the devs really want to bring in a lot of ideas that got cut or shortened from the OG, so it should be fun to figure out when they’ll show up!

8. Fave fic you wrote: My favorite fic is always changing and it’s usually the fic I have not finished yet. I like all of my fics but I think the ones I will love most when it’s done is either To find my Soul a Home, or Lighthouse which are both Jim/Namor wips.

9. Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: Currently none, I really don’t like to go back to fics after I post them because I take so long to even finish one and if I don’t know when to say stop, then it never gets finished. So I try to just be ok with whatever I wrote.

10. Share a bit of your WIP or share a story idea that you’re planning:

From: To Find my Soul a Home: Jim/Namor fic: This scene takes place in middle of the story, long after Jim and Namor had parted ways. Jim has been buried in the desert by his enemies, which was the explanation of why the OG Human Torch was not around for decades. warnings for angst, mentions of war, and burial:

He is crushing darkness around him. There is something wrong with his body, he is unable to move, unable to cry out, Jim is trapped inside his mind as the sounds of dirt hitting dirt slowly fades away until they stop. They have buried him in some place he does not know, deep under the ground. What did they do to him? He strains to try and move but nothing happens, he can’t even wiggle his fingers. Lips closed so that any words he would have spoken were sealed forever. This can’t be happening, not again, not again! He remembers the last time he was trapped in such a way, when his father- when Horton sealed him in the concrete under the ground because they were all afraid of him.

“I’m sorry my boy… I have to do this for your own good. I f I leave you out here they will destroy you. I will come back soon and set you free, and teach you more about this world. When it’s ready for you. Be good my boy.”

Anger burns in his chest and he can’t feel his body heating but it’s a weak fire smothered by dirt and lack of air. Horton never came back for him, he never returned and Jim had to free himself. Horton would not free him now either. The world had never been ready for the Human Torch, but Jim had demanded they try, he did everything he could to be human and now he can’t even die like one. Trapped in this suspended animation as he hears the men’s boots stamp over the dirt of his grave before muffled sounds of their voices fades away. Was it night now? Did it matter? He was never leaving here, Toro hadn’t even known what happened to him, what would happen to the boy? Would he search for Jim? He couldn’t let himself hope for that. He hopes Toro will move on with his life, he was old enough now that he could make it on his own. Still Jim feels a tear slip down the side of his face, he would never see his son again, never hug him and ruffle his hair and tell him how proud he was, how much he loved him. Toro could be an old man before Jim ever escaped from here.

Time has passed, how much? Jim doesn’t know, he could have been here a few days but it feels longer than that, weeks, months maybe. His body’s functions had been shutting down slowly, he feels his artificial heart slow to just a few beats per minute. His mind is clouded by the memories of the past, like a bad tape it skips around and some scenes run on repeat. If he was human it would be called hallucinating.

“Look at me Pappy!” Toro flames on by himself for the first time without burning any of the surrounding furniture in their tiny home, his fire spark smile is wide as he lifts his arms up in success. Jim folds the newspaper down enough to watch him. “Good job son. I’m proud of you.” Toro grins as he slowly flames down.

Jim wants to smile at the memory but his face is frozen.

“Come on now Jim, you can’t tell me you still hate him? Even after everything you two have been through?”

“Why are you pushing this Betty? I thought you would be happy that whatever Namor and I had was over.”

“I never saw you as my rival Jim, we both love him, but you know what he’s like.”

“I know. I know, but dammit Betty he gets me so mad…”

His partner in the police force, Betty’s face fades away, the tape skipping again as he tries again to move. He panics again, the cycle of screaming in his head, hoping someone will come, despairing when he comes down from this latest panic attack because nothing changes except his heart is a beat slower than before. Knowing that with every moment that passes his body is shutting down and soon he will be for all intents and proposes, dead. Jim had never died before, he knew what it was like to be shut off, a dark sudden black before the light came on again. Is this how humans feel knowing they have an expiration date? Knowing that one day they too will cease to exist?

“You’re too quiet firebug.”

No. No. No. NO. Jim panics again, tries to get his mind to turn over this tape, switch it to a different record, anything. He doesn’t want to see him.

His face is turned away from Jim in the memory, they were somewhere in France on the shore of a beach. It was the war.

“I don’t have anything to say.”

“I find that hard to believe, you’re always quick to voice your mind when it comes to me, how many times have you insulted me in the past?”

“So you came to find me because you missed my insults?”

“Missed you.”

Jim doesn’t reply to that.

“Say something Firebug, it’s too quiet here.”

Jim follows Namor’s gaze and looks out at the sea of dead soldiers that littered the beach. Their eyes blank as the gulls pick at the corpses. He looks down at his feet as the blood soaked wave washes over his boots.

Jim wants to claw out his brain, he wants it to STOP. He hated the war, he wasn’t like Namor, something happened to the Prince during the war. Jim could compartmentalize the trauma, he locked it away and did his best to be a support system for Toro, but Namor felt everything more deeply. He doesn’t want to see anymore, and for the first time Jim begs Horton’s god to let it end. More time passes.

The edges of his vision are blurry now, and each memory that comes is slower than before. He sees Toro again, in the circus doing his act. He sees Steve sitting in a chair in the clock tower, his face in his hands, the tired slump of his shoulders tells Jim that Steve has not slept again. Papers scribbled with art is strewn everywhere. He sees Namor in the rain.

He knows this.

Jim’s mind is finally on its last legs as it begins to shut down the last of his conscious mind. He is in a house and every room has a light on but the lights are being turned off one by one. He doesn’t want to be alone in the dark again.

The rain soaks Namor, plastering his dark hair and making his pointed ears stick out even more, it’s cute. Jim never told him that.

He knows this night.

Jim follows him out into the rain, away from everyone else.

Another light is turned off and Jim doesn’t try to waste the little energy he has left trying to move his body again. He wants to relive this one more time, he wants to hold on for just one moment more-

He and Namor are pressed against each other in their little alcove, the dirt of the trench wall behind him turns to mud. Piercing green eyes, and warm breath fills his senses as Jim clutches the Prince’s wet dark hair and pulls him closer. The war is worlds away as he feels Namor’s lips connect with his in a kiss. Soft and sensual, it is a sharp contrast to the harshness of the world they live in.

He knows this… the last light turns off and Jim is in the dark, the grainy picture in his mind fades and the record skips for the last time.

“Say something Firebug. It’s too quiet here.”

“I love you.”

Jim sleeps. A man forgotten by time and those who loved him.

Since this is gonna have more than 2 episodes, I’m putting in the “keep reading” thing, but, for the record, I’m watching Happiness Is, Peril on the High Seas, and Curses! in this post!

Okay, I’m very excited for this episode because I’ve heard some things, so let’s go, baby!!

I really loved this episode for a variety of reasons. It had a really great message, good storytelling, personal appeal, and some really funny moments! Two super awesome episodes in a row? Nice job, Disney. There is either not enough or too much for me to say for this episode, so I’ll just leave it at that.

This episode was so awesome!! The creators are on a roll here! It was full of suspense, jokes, and action! I really liked it, and I totally didn’t expect such an episode from a title card like that!

Hey so funky coincidence: This episode, to me, is a lot like when people google symptoms and it’s like “you have cancer” and they are then paranoid about it being true. I was trying to describe this to google because I know there’s a word for it, but I couldn’t remember, and, apparently, chronic inability to find the right words is linked to Alzheimer's, so now I have this phenomenon and I STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT THE WORD FOR IT IS.

This episode was really good! I mean, I liked the previous three a little more, but I will not count it as a break in the awesomeness streak! I’m glad they’re back on their quest, and this episode was generally pretty funny.
